Great posts guys, however I've noticed some mention of the Scythian being inside a hangar. This isn't the case; while there are some hangars available, the Scythian is sitting in the open atmosphere. This is partly because its significantly larger than the transports RX's spaceport was built to accommodate.


so are all the dock workers, marine's etc. in space suits or are they just wearing face mounted oxygen gear of some kind?

If you look at my character sheet and i have a hider in one of my first posts it shows what the Marines are wearing. Everyone else I assume are wearing things similar.

I second that question. I think that would mostly be determined by atmospheric pressure and temperature, neither of which I can find mentioned anywhere. Catharyn mentioned spacesuits ("As oxygen flooded in, all three of them took off their spacesuit helmets, collapsed them down to a third of their regular size and clipped them to the back of their suits.") in the first post.

I think we've pretty much decided that within the colony some are wearing masks, some aren't, but outside the colony it's required to wear some kind of apparatus. I imagine it's just fairly thin atmosphere, rather than no atmosphere.

Most people use lightweight, low profile spacesuits with collapsible helmets. This provides them with protection against the atmosphere and clean oxygen to breathe. You can get away with just a mask but the conditions on RX aren't really very hospitable. Does that answer the question?

Don't worry about reading the entire IC. What's happened so far, in terms of main plot, is:

> A naval transport (called the Scythian) arrived on the moon (RX3248), delivering an agent to meet with the local governor. The interstellar government believes the scientists may have discovered something at a digsite of interest to them.

> Most PCs are currently in or around the ship, which is still dry docked.

> There is currently a large scale riot near the ship, perpetrated by seditionists. Most PCs are dealing with this at the moment.

> A few PCs accidentally triggered a once dormant race into attacking. They have yet to reach the colony, though.

Your character doesn't have to be anything involved with the ship. They can be from somewhere else and have arrived on the moon prior to the events, they can be working/from the colony itself, or they can indeed be part of the ship.

@Ozymandias Ok that's good to know we haven't left dry dock yet. My idea is that im a scientist who has himself a tiny ass shuttle. That was able to get himself to the moon. He is essentially also after the same knowledge you guys are after and may try to join the ship. Also he has an AI sidekick. Just checking this idea with you to see if it's okay.

You're more than welcome to play a scientist character. However, that description is pretty much Catharyn's (the other GMs) character down to a tee (scientist investigating the discovery, with an AI companion). You may want to review it a bit, or risk clashing
