"Dear Gamer,
I'm someone u kno well, from ur games but not irl, heh, not that any of u would ever go outside, right? Well i'm not one to judge, I, however am finding it difficult to keep up this gamer lingo, so let's switch to some proper grammar. Don't worry I'll be able to understand your gamer speak, I am after all a gamer myself. Here's the thing I have a request of you, now you may refuse if you wish. You see I study people, I want to study the psychological connections to gamers and what makes them addicts for their gaming drug of choice, and don't tell me it's not an addiction, I've played alongside you don't forget. I want to see how your psychology determines your game of choice. All that aside, may I interview you? I'm going to send a link in this email, by clicking it you'll be dropped in an interview with me, private and personalized to you depending on your IP address and the things I know about you. So, (U/N) will you come here and talk to me?"
What a mysterious and strange email, you think quietly to yourself. You stare at the link as it occurs to you how much of the world is experienced through the internet now, you can't go anywhere without being connected so some wifi or another. Some primal part of you wonders...if this world is worth living in? You quickly shake that thought and go back to your work whatever it is you do, once you finish you can order some food and game until you pass out...and do it all again tomorrow. That's your life, you haven't even bothered to try and find love, or contact your parents, how old are you now? How long has it been since you actually had to leave your apartment? You had a shower, groceries could be delivered, or already cooked food and you have a wide variety to choose from, you do live in the city...but who doesn't live in a city now? A glance out your window would reveal exactly your point, there were tall buildings on all sides of you, even your building was taller than where you were at, you were on what...the 30th floor or something like that? You stare at the screen, doing the same job you've always done, that email, that link always in the back of your mind, even as you think about the state of the Earth right now. Solar energy was used now but still that wasn't enough, you knew the world was dying, but you keep it locked in the back of your mind. You don't even know what a tree is to be honest, well you do but you've never seen one yourself, hell even children were home schooled, social interaction was limited to a screen and sometimes; if you were a gamer, a voice.
Really what sort of world did you live in? Where the world was 'experienced' through a screen? There was a strange fire in your soul, something you had never tasted before outside of gaming, what had happened? You're suddenly remembering that email and it won't get out of your head. You zoom through your work, going over your quota in the time you have to work because you're suddenly just as curious as the person who had emailed you. Was there some psychological reason for the way the world worked now? Was this person going to try and do something about it? Or you could be doing it just because your bored right? You laugh to yourself, of course that's the reason, you're not that foolish are you? This is your world, the one you were born and raised to, may as well help someone out right? So now that you're free you click the link and are greeted with a message immediately.
"Oh welcome (U/N), I'm surprised you came, you can call me Dungeon Master, Game Master, or Admin, whichever you prefer. Well, shall we get this interview started?"
Well hiya there! Sorry you got assaulted by this description first. I'm happy you read it though. Now I can talk as if you're interested in this idea! So let me get started explaining the concept of this idea! The world is entirely technology now, ruled entirely by it to the point you don't have to ever socially interact, the character I'll be portraying has several names, DM, GM, or Admin, and they have an idea...a thought, they can't stand this world and hate how no one interacts properly, even if they're married. How likely is it they've spoken outside of the internet? High surely but still, communication should be higher on the human list of priorities shouldn't it? Then they have another thought, she'd force people to interact with a real place, in the form of dangerous games, she'd get gamers, they'd definitely rise to the challenge right? I have 'events' in mind, games that the characters would have to play to survive of course they wouldn't do it alone. It would be done in pairs. One man one woman to a pair, the mysterious DM's goal? To make love blossom from real interaction, real desperation to survive, to make them develop as humans and not just faces behind a screen, maybe inspire a group of people to try and make changes to this crazy tech filled world.
So this is a mix up of ideas, like a puzzle/action/maybe sometimes near horror/romance RP. The events will range from scavenger hunts to adaptations of games, if you're interested I'm always willing to hear out ideas for the events but it will be fairly more focused on romance and building trust through the events or games I'll plan, but they are dangerous games, your character could very well be harmed irreparably, it's a very strange idea I know but if you're interested let me know! If I get enough interest I'll make a group and then you can see the rules and I'll more fully explain the mechanics of the 'Game', I'll talk to you later!
