I'll do that in the future. Cheers! Heheh the music felt very ff to me too so I picked it. I can't remember where it was from but it has been in my ipod for many years now, it's just labeled "Nakano" which is a prefecture of japan but ...I tried tracing it to several games but found nothing. Oh well, least it suits things here.
@Prisk

Your character is farmiliar with night owls, you say? Well then.
Montero's a hoot! Those dark circles ain't for show. But ...he's the sad kind of owl who eats at the empty tables by his lonesome so, givin your char's persona, they will be taking sips of foreveralone tea at far corners of the cafeteria - look up and accidently see each other every few seconds thinking "Why is this guy staring at me? >:(". Maybe.

Btw. It's a bit stressful to play a persona that is so far off from the author's actual personanility.@Panko

@71452K definitely! I can see the two trading glances like ಠ_ಠ if they're totally unacquainted. They're both interested in finding alternative fuels, but I don't know if Abysso would be vocal about such a tender issue unless they have some sort of bond. It would be nice for them to know each other, at the very least, as Abysso would know about Montero's efforts to give spirits autonomy and finding alternatives to whale oil (unless it's a top secret type of deal). They could even be "friends", or whatever Abysso's equivalent of a friend would be, through their shared interests or otherwise. Probably comfortable silence instead of unnerving silence?

Montero's pretty vocal about academic subjects, especially his research. It's not a secret. But given that Oakridge's economy is based off whale oil, not a lot of people are chill with it.

Yes, let's go for comfortable silence. ಠ_ಠ. :3. @Panko

Nice! We can develop their kinship as the RP progresses and if it's convenient necessary, we could even have a flashback here or there to explain why they have a comfortable silence instead of an awkward one. For the most part, though, I'm down to just improv stuff to make it feel like Abysso actually grew up in the school and didn't just lurk around for how many years.

Improv sounds good, feel free to throw some around. I'll try my best to respond!

Say, looks like we've covered all divisions quite nicely! 1 from Intelligence, 2 from Navigation, 2 from Research and 2 from Warfare! And every character is so distinctly unique too, that's rare for such a large cast.

@Panko - That's one rather awesome character. Reminds me of Liesabet with particular mannerisms and likeness. I'd love to collaborate some sort of kinship; nothing that is required to be within in depth, as such things will progress naturally within the travels and missions. But something!

So, my next day off is.. Wednesday, I believe, though I'm likely to churn a post within some odd hours, into tomorrow night. The aim is to get it out there rather soon, but my days off are usually twice in the week, and they always change through every schedule posting. So we shall see for this week.

@Rockette I noticed they both have wolf motifs (she-wolf and coyote, respectively) after I had written the first part of the CS and by then I was just like... well those are two distinct enough metaphors where it wouldn't impede. I'd even go as far to say they have similar quasi-nihilistic worldviews, but it's far too early to gauge how loyal they'll stay to it. The most prominent difference between the two personality-wise is that while (and do correct me if I'm mistaken,) Liesabet is inclined to wandering and searching, Abysso's core is of compliance and numbness. That could serve to be a pretty useful contrast between them, as they're both "lone wolves" but due to different causes. Two different ways to approach the mystery of life: search for the whys, or just allow it because it simply is. If they're acquainted, Abysso would probably find her boundless energy wasteful but unless she specifically asked him if he has a problem with her, he'd treat her the same as anyone else.

@71452K it'll probably take place IC if one of us has a sudden idea. 'And that was when Abysso remembered at age sixteen, when Montero had oh-so-apologetically taken the final serving of leidan gruel. Since most of the staff were asleep at this hour, there was no more being made and as Abysso recalled the betrayal, he clenched his gauntlet imperceptibly tighter.' Actually, I take that back. Since that's Abysso recalling something another character did, I guess I'd have to run that by whoever has the other character first but... that's the gist of stuff.

So in IC are all the characters are headed to Ledale or are we split?

@Panko - You're not entirely off from the analysis, but again, representation within a CS and IC, to me, can sometimes be different in comparison. I believe this to be a point that character sheets are references, a basis to come off from, more or less. Liesabet was designed with my own conceptual musings of a lone she-wolf in mind, quite literally a translation to a mortal quest of, as you put it, searching and wondering. In a way, of course. Liesabet is more so running away from something, if we were to get literal once again, and locked into complacency by a complexity of emotions that basically comes down a primal question of "fight or flight if you were to break it down to a bear-nothing.

@Rockette Hmm... alright now that we have a basic idea of how their dynamic would theoretically work, would they actually know each other? They might have had classes together in the past when they were taking an equivalence of a general ed, or something like that, though I'm not sure if they would have had positive or negative experiences with each other.

edit: @71452K I edited Abysso's kinship section, with what I found to be the dynamic from Abysso's POV. Though, if you think that it's too friendly for the two and you'd rather have them develop a bond in IC, or even go the opposite way and have them cultivate a growing rivalry, we can work something out as well.

@Panko - That's the question, I'm having a fumble of thoughts. I'm thinking a bit of both, considering the inter-crossing dynamics and reoccurring theme of wolfish devices, and come back to the concept of a wolf vs. a coyote. Perhaps there's some commingling of positive and negative reception, a basic theory and feeling of something that sets them apart because one is similar to the other, but given a mutual turn of understanding in their brief connections through general education, a wolf can respect a coyote in her midst to some slight terms, but there's something that prevents the two from ever coming together as "friends."

It's vague, but I'm okay with indistinct acquaintances to build upon through out.

That's fair. A she-wolf and a coyote might feel some kind of familiarity with each other, but it's veiled behind wariness. They can respect each other and work in tandem if they have a mutual interest, but after that they part ways without any fanfare. Abysso might be able to see from Liesabet's point of view if he set his mind to it, but there wouldn't be a significant reason for that level of interest. Indistinct acquaintances seems about right, with what we currently have to work with.

I think before posting in the IC, I'm going to want to establish any possible kinships that Abysso might have with the others, so it's clear who he would and wouldn't recognize in the Carrier.

Sure. My thought was that they've probably done some projects together, as some projects would've been Guardian-exclusive, and the Guardian population in each division isn't awfully large. And we can totally just leave it at that! They do seem to share an interest for the actual navigation part of the Navigation Division, from what I understood.

Most of the rooms at the dormitories would be single rooms. I imagine that there would be a few rooms designed for two people, but it would be for students that came as a couple, usually siblings. As for different programs and projects—yes, there can be some of these. You'd have to make them yourself, though, as thinking of all the possible combinations myself would be a daunting task. However, the academy would indeed encourage cross-division interaction outside of regular schooling.

Spirits are not corporeal. In past iterations of this roleplay, I've had creatures similar to summons that are massive congregations of spirits that do become physical entities, but I left that out this time around. Guardians, in a sense, is the physical manifestation of spirits, i.e., their corporeal form.

How often can/should we post?

I like the no-wait policy but I'm not sure of it's details, given that I feel like posting soon too.

Good question! It's partially up to your judgement. We're obviously not a single-paragraph, speed posting roleplay. However, when the characters are in the same area, waiting for something to progress things, and when the situation is conversational, then you can post quite frequently. Seeing as the roleplay is inspired by Final Fantasy, character interaction is central. What I will do, basically, is to move us to distinct areas and hubs all the time, in which the characters can interact with each other.

To give an example of the no wait-policy. At the moment, my strongest 'no wait' is with @Mr Rage and @Rizza, as they're directly interacting with Celise at different capacities.

I'm not really sure where the idea of it being a hangar comes from. It's a garage, no airplanes anywhere, just cars. Did I write hangar?
