AUGUST 1ST 2015, SATURDAY
Morning

What to bring...? It was just a day-trip, right? So he shouldn't bring much. Maybe just a towel and sunglasses or something. Sunscreen? He didn't have sunscreen, so would somebody else bring some and let him use it? Or did it not matter?

Sato sighed and sat down on the edge of his bed. Was going to the beach really the right thing to be doing at the moment? With everything going on in Warakuma, with the cult and the Mirror World and Seto and all that, was hanging around at the beach the best thing they could be doing? Maybe he was overthinking it. Sato checked his phone idly. No new texts and it was 8:30. They were just teenagers. And it was summer vacation, so they should just enjoy themselves, right? It'd be good for keeping up team morale and making a tighter team bond, and everyone losing the motivation to keep fighting would be disastrous. Plus he got to see Mako shir--

Anyways Sato got up and stuck his phone in his pocket and grabbed his stuff, ignorant of any better way to prepare as he glided down the stairs. He walked over into the kitchen and gave a quiet greeting to his mom.

"Have fun with you friends today, Sato." She smiled, "Are you sure you have everything you need?"

"I'm good, thanks."

His mom raised her eyebrows suspiciously and eyed the minimalist load-out Sato was bringing. "Are you sure?" Sato dodged the question by giving her a hug and ducking out the front door before she could say anything further, but before he could truly escape she stood at the door and called after him. "Be safe, Sato! I love you!"

Sato swiveled around as he started down the street and gave her a small wave. "See ya tonight!"

Sato checked his phone again as he walked into the station. It wasn't even 9 yet, but it was already getting pretty hot out. Hopefully the beach wouldn't burn them alive when they got there, but at least there was always the ocean to cool off in. Walking into the station, Sato noticed Kotori first, who was hiding under a sun hat and carrying around a bag presumably packed with essentials. He suddenly felt inadequate, having only brought a single towel and sunglasses. And the others weren't wearing swimsuits yet. Shit, should he have brought a change of clothes? All he had was the clothes he was wearing-- a loose button-up and his swimtrunks (a dark blue with clock patterns; his mom said it was cool).

The group had found a spot on the platform safely out of the way of any of the station's commuters, so Sato made his way over to the others, but he was surprised to see that only Rui, Kotori, and the two Shoujin students were there. Sato gave a small bow to his fellows and gave a quiet, "Morning." He briefly thought of making small talk, like "Who else is excited for the beach?", or "Nice day for the trip, huh?", but he decided against it seeing as everyone there didn't seem the type to get awfully hyped. A cool guy would've gotten there late, so Sato figured that he was only cool in the headed sense.

A few minutes passed and Sato awkwardly shifted in his own skin. He thought it would be more cloudy, but with how hot the sun was on the walk there, he was definitely gonna need some skin protection for the whole day. He rubbed the back of his neck and turned to Kotori. "I think I came a little unprepared..." He muttered, unsure of his relationship with the second-year girl. "Do you have sunscreen or any such thing?"

Ryan Chideta
1/8/15, Home

His alarm went off at about 7 AM, after a couple of tries to hit the snooze button Ryan eventually succeeded and went back to sleep for another hour. After his alarm went off again he groaned and hit the snooze button again, why did he even have his alarm set? After his alarm went off one more time he slowly sat up and rubbed his eyes, wondering why he had decided to get up so early on a saturday during the summer. He got dressed into his usual casual clothes and brushed his teeth, still half asleep as he went through his morning routine. It was only in the middle of breakfast that his eyes snapped open and he realised what today was. He ran back to his room, muttering curses under his breath the whole time as he tried to get all his essentials packed into his blue backpack, also grabbing a comb and putting it in his pocket just so he could straighten out his hair on the way to the train terminal.

As he ran back downstairs to finish his breakfast quickly he cursed himself for getting up so late, especially considering everyone was probably waiting for him at the train already. Ryan mentally went over everything he would need for the trip, wallet, phone, swimwear, sunblock, some water just in case, that sounded about right. He checked his phone and began eating faster, he was ten minutes behind schedule and he still needed to take a shower. After a quick text to his mom reminding her he was going to the beach today he ran back upstairs to take a shower, missing the response back telling him not to forget his towel.

As he slung his backpack over his shoulder and slid his phone into his pocket he stopped for a second to look at himself in the mirror. Looking better than usual honestly, today was gonna be a good day. He grabbed a hat from his shelf and put it on his head, adjusting it as he ran out the front door.

1/8/15, Warakuma Train Terminal

Ryan was panting as he ran to the train terminal, he checked his phone and he was just on time luckily. As he bent over, trying to catch his breath after running so far, he saw everyone gathered up at the platform mentioned in the text. As he walked over he took out his bottle of water and began chugging it, the station was pretty hot and it was a saturday so the station was kinda crowded, which made it even hotter.

He stopped in front of them and waved, smiling as his breathing finally got to a normal pace. "Hey guys, how's everyone doing?"

Warakuma Train Terminal

Saturday
1/8/15

Rui greeted Kotori as she arrived,

"Good morning Kotori, you're among the first ones here", he greeted. Giving his usual soft expression.

"Morning Kotori! But you know Kazuki, the beeach, it's summer, it has to be the beach!",

"Ugh, come on, you're being a child", Megumi proceeded to pout, but before she could say anything both Ryan and Sato had arrived too. Rui waved good morning to them as they made their way to the platform.

"We still have a little over half an hour for our train, but I figured making the meeting time now would give everyone time to make it", he stated. It seemed reasonable, considering the type of people they had in their motley crew, especially also because this was summer break, some might like to sleep in.

Samuru Amakusa

Samuru had carefully and meticulously packed his sunscreen, clothes, drinks and snacks in his backpack. Wearing a starched T-Shirt and jeans, which had a set of bright red swimming trunks underneath them, the young man looked unassuming, was unassuming. He went downstairs to where his mother and father were watching a televised mass on the TV, and sat behind them as they watched the priest officiate over the sacred ceremonies. It doesn't matter if God is Evil, he thought once more. What matters, is that his creed can be salvaged.

His mother was the first to notice his presence, and say: "You ready for your first beach trip without family?" This was responded to with a slight, but prompt nod, which caused the boy's father to smile at his wife and son.

"Samuru," the middle-aged man said as he rose up, brusing off dust from his salaryman's pants, "Before you go, we would like to tell you...we love you for what you are. For what you always were, no matter what you choose to do with it." A roundabout way of saying that they knew. Gratitude filled Samuru's heart as he said:

"Thank you, Father, thank you, Mother. I love you two too." The televised mass finished at that moment, allowing Samuru to get up so that he can finally go depart on his 'beach trip'. As he walked out of the house, he would wave goodbye, goodbye at the smiling faces of his parents. He would remember that when things were darkest, he supposed. For if he continued with his connection to Rui, things will get darker.

Train Terminal, Warukama Town

Samuru would join Rui's group, taking great care to stay away from Ryan Chideta and Sato Hashimoto and Mako Moritomi. He was not certain where things stood between them after Seto, and was...scared to find out. This state of affairs would last for a while, during which he would look at Rui Sinichi and his two...co-leaders? He would blink, looking at the people around him, the people he had disappointed. And he would not be able to speak.

He visualized the Chapel of the Martyr, then The Velvet Room, the two places where he had confronted his Shadow. He now knew that his troubles had not ended, if anything, they had just begun. Which brought up the question; should he stay within Rui's group?

Flee, his mind spoke, These people will never be your friends, acceptance or no acceptance. What do you owe to them when they only rescued you out of obligation, when they are merely a closed circle? They will never let you in. A moment of resistance in Samuru's thoughts, a moment in which he fell back to old habits and denied those were his. That moment passed, to be replaced with acknowledgement. He will not refuse to own up to his failings and his lines of thinking ever again.

He faced his group, for they were his'. They might not like him that much, but he will try his hardest to help them. He just wished he knew how; his first thought was to offer Sato some sunscreen, but the other young man might take that the wrong way.

That and it could also insult Kotori to assume that she didn't bring any lotions. Sigh, it meant that he would have to reply to Ryan, then. Ryan whom he had offended because of his ineptitude and being overly nice in a warzone. Looking up at the Chideta scion, Samuru would say, "Well, I'm doing fine. How are you?"

He then pulled out his handkerchief from his pants pocket and offered it to the obviously tired and sweaty teen. "Here, if you want it." He probably doesn't, the treacherous part of him thought, and Samuru acknowledged that courageously, meaning that he didn't stop doing what he was doing. I stand by my group, even when I failed them before.

Kotori Shirohane - Warakuma Train Terminal | Saturday - Morning

Following Rui's returned greetings, the only ones to speak up were Megumi and Kazuki. Kotori, standing aside from them, glanced between the two as Megumi tried to get her fellow Shujin student to perk up at the prospect of a summery beach visit - whilst Kazuki's lack of enthusiasm was only good for a roll of his eyes and a dismissal of her words. As she'd only really seen either of them when everyone had been called upon for a foray into the Mirror World, Kotori wasn't too sure of whether such small-scale bickering was usual for them or if perhaps the mood may turn sour all too soon should they continue - but luckily, she wouldn't have to confirm her fears when an interruption arrived just moments later in the form of Sato.

The third-year gave a brief greeting to which Kotori gave a bow in return. Just moments later, Ryan too approached the group, lifting a bottle of water to his lips - either the morning sun was already getting to him or he was simply more conscious of the dangers of the midsummer heat than others, Kotori surmised as she greeted the first-year student with a polite bow. Ryan too was the first to break the silence as he asked how everyone was doing. "Ah, uhm..." Kotori started, though catching herself from yawning at the last moment and instead just going with a brief nod - hopefully she'd shake off the lack of sleep as the day carried on.

Seeing as the group was slowly growing in numbers, Rui spoke up to announce that there was still half an hour before their train went - whilst that did mean that they'd have some waiting to do, Kotori did breathe a little easier knowing that there was most likely not going to be any panic about last minute arrivals and possibly missing the train because of it. It was then that Samuru, the latest member to join them, arrived as well, setting off another round of reciprocated greetings - though he did seem a little subdued where it came to both Ryan and Sato for some reason. Yet just as she thought that it was a good thing that everything was well prepared, Sato spoke in her direction about his own lack thereof. "Eh?" It took a moment for Kotori to realise that he was, in fact, addressing her; leaving her to blink in surprise before quickly turning to look at her senpai as he asked her for some sunscreen. At his words, Kotori couldn't quite help the faintest of proud smiles crossing her face as she kneeled down to rifle through her bag, quietly murmuring "One moment..." as she did.

Indeed it was only a brief moment before she produced a full bottle of sunblock from therein as she was in equal measures happy for it to have not been in vain and also to be of help. "Please feel free to use as much as you need, senpai," Kotori said as she held it out toward Sato. Between the wide-brimmed sun hat and the high protection factor written upon the bottle, it was not hard to guess that she was evidently one of the unfortunate people who were rather susceptible to the sun. "Uhm, if... you need anything else... ah, p-please let me know," Kotori added - even as she noticed half-way through that she could be taken to be asserting the others to be forgetful or even negligent. Between that and the realisation that her words had likely just gotten her the attention of everyone gathered around, however briefly, was sure to leave her gaze to remain fixed on the ground between her sandals for the next few moments - though she was thankful for the fact that while doing so her hat would at least keep some of her embarassment hidden.

The quiet stare Kotori gave for a second shot a pang of regret through Sato, but to his surprise she didn't chastise him for his disregard for skin care and instead started digging through her bag with a strangely mother-esque pride. After a brief moment she withdrew a bottle of sunscreen and gave it to Sato, and after being assured he can use as much as needed, he began to apply it to his skin, starting with his arms.

Sato noticed that Ryan and Samuru had also showed up, and he gave a small wave to both of them, but it was immediately apparent that Samuru was acting a bit cold to them, standing off and avoiding eye-contact with Sato. Was he still upset about what happened in Seto? It wasn't that big of a deal, considering it was Samuru's first time in the mirror world, but Sato decided not to express that again lest he start some kind of drama already. The whole point of the trip was to relax together, not mope over the Mirror World.

It struck him that he probably should have waited until he got to the beach to apply it considering he was probably going shirtless to swim and now he'd just have to ask someone for sunscreen again, but whatever. Maybe they wouldn't dive in for a while. "Thanks, Kotori. I really appreciate it." He said to her, giving a slight nod, but as he rubbed it into his face, Kotori's next words bugged him. "What else do I need though? ...Am I forgetting something? Was my mom right...?"

Kanna Watanabe
-- August 1st, 2015 || Morning || Home --

A week had passed since Rui and the other Persona users saved him and offered him to join their cause. Of course, Kanna was unsure if he would fit in with all the talented people that managed to save him, but he knew that he could possibly help in some way, so he simply asked if he could think about it. Unfortunately, even though a week had passed, Kanna still didn't have an answer for Rui. Maybe...maybe he just shouldn't get back with them; they would probably be mad or disappointed that he couldn't return the favor he so graciously received from them. Avoiding the issue would make it worse, but at least he wouldn't have to worry about it at the moment right?

Kanna let out a desperate groan as he drowned his blueberry pancakes in syrup.
"Kanna, dear, what did I tell you about wasting syrup?" Kanna's aunt hummed as she started at him from across the table.
"... ... ...hard work..." The white haired boy mumbled as he shoved a bit of food in his mouth.
"I'm sorry, I didn't quite catch that?" Her demanding voice causing Kanna's tender morning eardrums to ring.
"Wasting syrup wastes the syrup fairy's hard work." He droned, forcing himself not to roll his eyes. His aunt nodded approvingly before tilting her head.
"Um, dear, shouldn't you be getting ready for your trip to the beach?"
"Huh?"
"A few days ago, you said you were going to beach today with some boy and his friends."

Oh yeah, Kanna had completely forgot about that. So regardless, he would have to see them and let them know if he was joining them or not. Great... Glancing over at the clock hanging on the other side of the wall, he only had about twenty minutes or so to get ready and run to train terminal. But despite his short time span to get ready, Kanna was mostly calm, scarfing downing his pancakes and thanking his aunt for the food. He scrambled up the steps as quickly as possible before entering his previously shared room and shutting the door. Letting out a heavy sigh as he stared at his messy bed and his brother's tidy one, Kanna proceeded to get ready, all the while talking out loud.
"I'm going to the beach today, Brother." He mumbled, stripping down. "Who would have thought right? I mean, I'm as pale as a ghost but I'm going to the beach! I should probably get a hoodie and a hat too." Kanna changed into white swimming trunks with black strips, a white hoodie and a darker colored bucket hat. Under his arm was a bag that had sunscreen, sunglasses, some money, and a towel. "There. Oh, right, you should come with me!" The white haired boy smiled as he walked over to the other side of the room and grabbed the picture frame he was apparently talking to. "Let's go."

"I'm off Aunty!"
"Don't stay out for too long!" And with that, Kanna put on his flip-flops and headed outside.

-- August 1st, 2015 || Morning || Warakuma Train Terminal --

"I-It's so freaking hot..." The short boy groaned as he ran down the sidewalk towards the Warakuma Train Terminal; it wasn't that hard to miss. And only arriving with a few minutes to spare from the time Rui had given him. It wasn't until he was a little ways from the platform that Kanna spotted the black haired teen who had reached out him about the trip and his slowly growing group of friends. Originally feeling rather confident about meeting the other Persona users better, the butterflies in the boy's stomach proved otherwise as he stopped in his tracks and hid behind a trash can. Kanna's ghostly figure slowly peered from over the edge of the trash can, unsure of how to approach them without coming off as weird.

Shizuka Otonashi || Warakuma Train Terminal || August 1 SAT: Morning

"A pleasant morning to you!" A familiar feminine voice called out to the group of teens who stood around the entrance to the ticket area. With a slight wave of her hand, Shizuka greeted her peers who were present at the moment. The girl wore a straw hat, a must for any beach outing, white loose blouse with a mid-length, pleated sky blue skirt. For the daughter of a fashion designer, it almost came natural to her to stay in trend with the season's wardrobe. ...Or so everyone thought.

"I-I do apologize for my slight tardy to the meeting time! I've originally intended to bring my sailor uniform themed swim wear as a form of cosplay bu-but mother upon hearing of it advised against it. Somewhere along the lines of men with peculiar tastes...?" Slightly tilting her head in confusion at the explanation given by her mother, she shakes her head to put away thoughts of potential reasons. Remembering what she had brought along for the group, the freshman lifts the basket in her possession for the others to see. "Oh! For the short trip on the train, I brought some sandwiches and tea as snacks!"

At the corner of her eye, Shizuka noticed a silver haired boy watching the group from behind a trash bin. Wondering if he were a new member of their group, since she had not personally met him, the teen simply waved at him. "Hello, are you part of our group?"

Warakuma Train Terminal

Saturday
1/8/15

As Rui was looking around to new arrivals, greeting them as appropriate, he noticed a figure in the distance. It stood out not only because it was not moving like the few other people who were in the street at this hour, but also because there were so few people at this hour, so anyone would stand out doing anything even slightly odd. He waved over to the person over there, having recognized who it was. The last time Rui saw him was at the hospital with his usual offer, the boy's name was Kanna Watanabe, whom they had rescued shortly after Samuru's rescue, though his acceptance seemed to require him more thought.

Before the boy could speak however, Shizuka had appeared, and then approached Kanna asking him.

"Ah, yeah he is. You weren't in the group that rescued him that's right... This is Kanna, I sent him a message about the beach trip if he wanted to come and...", Rui examined the boy. He was in gear. He seemed more eager for this than he let on it seems...

"And he seems quite ready", he added. He would press to see if Kanna had decided to join them as a Persona user or not, but this time and setting was not appropriate. After all they were here to just have fun, and it should just be that, a bunch of highschool kids enjoying the summer.

"Well, anyways, are we waiting on anyone...?", he pondered.

Kanna Watanabe
-- August 1st, 2015 || Morning || Warakuma Train Terminal --

Kanna couldn't help but twitch as an almost overly feminine sounding voice had to be talking to him. Only slightly embarrassed that he had been spotted hiding behind what most use to throw away trash, Kanna felt his pale cheeks turn pink as he slid from behind the trash can and nodded quickly. As he saw Rui waving to him, a small smile formed on his face as he proceeded to take a spot beside the other, almost hiding behind him.
"I-It's nice to meet you all..." The teen mumbled before looking up at Rui. "I didn't want to be unprepared...so..." Kanna trailed off as he scratched the back of his head. Of course he was a bit shy due to how many strangers were coming along with them, but maybe he was little too paranoid, as he had yet to move from Rui's side. He watched quietly as the others interacted with each other, his navy blue eyes never staying too long on one person. They all seemed to know each other for a while, based on how they were interacting, and there were a few that he recognized as upperclassmen from school which made Kanna feel even more out of place.

Kanna rubbed his covered up arm for a moment before looking at Rui.
"You think, more people are going to show up, Senpai?" Kanna questioned, tilting his head in the process.

Matthew Harvester ||

Life is all but a blur, ever since the too close for comfort exam scores (no thanks to the flunked japanese part) Matthew had all but seemingly vanished from the setting as his days were spent either working or hanging around, with the occasional visit to the clubroom to look after and even expand on the range of plants around, no matter what it seems as though that place had become a form of sanctuary for him. The latest edition looked as if it was Myostis.

Matthew had all but grown complacent as if he had forgotten about something important, though no matter if he thought on it, it was all a blur. That was until he received a message.

“Well I guess I should go”

The comfiest of beds || 01 Aug 15

*Bzzz BZZZ* “SHUT THE HELL UP ALREADY” the mixture of alarms and yelling filled the once quiet room as a phone was tossed across the room. The one who threw the phone contemplated getting back into bed before he saw the time on the clock,
“Oh hell no I slept in, gotta go” As the anger turned into panic the boy quickly tried to dress in the clothes prepared, almost ripping them from the rush in the process.

In the blitzed rush Matt was finally somehow was ready, and without double checking his prepacked bag he ran off out of his room…. Well nearly, as he tripped over his chair slamming the head into the door almost breaking the sunglasses sitting attop.

“Owowowowow damn it does nothing ever go right” Matt complained as he finally left for the meetup point.

Train terminal || 01 Aug 15

Running flat out towards the train terminal Matt was glad he decided to wear the runners there and leave the flip flops in the bag for later….probably.

Eventually he arrived, though he was late, while panting for breath Matt spoke up.
“Sorry…. I'm… late.. Woke up late” he quickly recovered back to normal and continued “seems i woke up late again ahahaha but I still made it so that's all that counts at the end” awkwardly laughing he finally looked around the group until he went slightly red and avoided the gaze of someone.

Matt himself wore a grey tank top under an open white and blue over shirt, with his shorts already being his swimmers that were almost flashy with all the different types of blues and purples displayed.

Kotori Shirohane - Warakuma Train Terminal | Saturday - Morning

Kotori was plenty busy with keeping her eyes glued to the ground - enough so to not notice another figure approaching but staying at a distance for now. As Sato finished up with the sunblock and thanked her for it, Kotori glanced back up, peering throug her glasses just past the brim of her sunhat. "Uhm, y-you're welcome," she said, more quietly than before - only to then look on in slight confusion when Sato seemed perturbed about something else. "Eh?" Unsure if he was directing those muttered words at her or himself, Kotori was unsure how to react - but luckily, this decision was taken out of her hands when another familiar voice spoke up.

Kotori was not unpleased that Shizuka unwittingly acted as a distraction. Turning around, she saw her fellow Agriculture Club member waving as she approached and gave a bow in return. "Ah, good morning, Otonashi-san," Kotori said as Shizuka apologised for her belated arrival. Thankfully though it would be of little matter, given that Rui had scheduled the meeting time well in advance of the train's departure. As she explained her reason though, Kotori blinked in slight confusion - before coming to the conclusion that Shizuka's mother was just looking out for her daughter and thus wouldn't want her attracting unwanted attention at the beach. After all, that would be rather embarassing.

As Shizuka went on to present the basket in her hands as full of snacks for the trip, Kotori gave a small smile - she had in fact wondered if she should perhaps prepare something to bring along, but ultimately decided against it. After all, she didn't really know the others' tastes and wouldn't want them having to eat something they didn't like - or worse, pretend to like it. But seeing as Shizuka was evidently more confident in such matters, Kotori was glad to see that no one would have to go hungry. A slight confusion came over Kotori's face when Shizuka turned aside and addressed someone - only now, as she followed the younger girl's gaze, did she too notice the boy by the trashbin.

The first to speak up at Shizuka's question was Rui rather than the boy himself. Rui explained that Kanna was the latest member to join the team, courtesy of being the subject of yet another Mirror World rescue. As her thoughts wandered to that place, Kotori's mood visibly dimmed - but only for a moment before she shook her head and almost succeeded at putting said thoughts aside for the moment. Kanna, having taken the opportunity to approach the group, confirmed Ruis words with his own introduction - albeit a little hesitantly, seeming a little ill at ease. Kotori couldn't blame him - she doubted that she'd be holding up half as well if she had to meet with such a large group of what were essentially strangers if she were in his shoes. As such, she tried her best to be welcoming as she gave a bow: "Good morning," she said, though the accompanying attempt at a smile did not exactly end up quite as encouraging as she may have imagined in her head.

As Rui asked whether everyone was present and accounted for, Kotori looked around the group and counted them off. Without knowing who was expected to still show up, however, this number did her little good. Almost as if in response to Kanna's question, the sound of someone approaching at running speed could be heard - the source of which, as it turned out, was yet another familiar face in the form of Matthew. Seeing both of her fellow club members gathered, even as one apologised for his arrival time between barely caught breaths, brought a small smile to Kotori's face - the strange distance between the two had been a source of worry for quite some time now. "Good morning, Harvester-senpai," she said, giving a bow as she did.

Unfortunately, the hint of a smile slowly died down and turned into a far more familiar worried frown when she noticed that both Matthew and Shizuka seemed oddly preoccupied with anything that was not each other.

"There will be a bunch more", he responded to Kanna. Speaking of which, here comes Matthew, he greeted him cordially before they waited for the rest. Though he kept silent, he noticed there was a bit of tension between a few of them, it was an almost sharp contrast to the excitement of everyone else present. Some people had brought equipment of their own too.

"It seems the train is about to arrive... Let's get going", with that announcement everyone gathered up their things and headed into the terminal.

Sadaomi Beach

Saturday
1/8/15

The train was a roughly one to two hour ride, not a very long ride, but considering how many people were present for this, they were a very large group. The train ride itself was uneventful save for some idle chatter. As soon as the scenery outside changed though, they could see the northern coast of Japan, and out to the sea. It was a breathtaking view only the open sea to greet them. The shadows on the horizon though was a small reminder that this was indeed the northern coast, as that figure along the horizon was China.

Regardless, upon arriving at the train station just a short stop away Niigata, they got off with the beach a short walk away. Upon arriving they could see there were already foot stands and all sorts of facilities set up, most of which were new.

"This is actually a very new beach, the Nanjo Corporation has been taking strides in urbanizing older areas, this is one of them", it wasn't apparent to anyone but those who knew what companies were under Nanjo, but those who were familiar would realize that a lot of the buildings and main stores here that weren't small private stores were under the Nanjo conglomerate. Kazuki seemed to be a bit bothered by coming here though, if it was simply him not wanting to go to the beach it should or would usually subside a bit now that he was here, but he seemed to be avoiding looking at the storefronts for too long, or if he did it would be with a rather glum or irate expression.

"Well anyways, I'm gonna go and find us a spot on the beach. I'll let you all know when we've settled, see ya!", within moments of finishing her little announcement she grabbed Kazuki and dragged him down onto the sands. The beach was new, meaning, there were a lot of people here. Not nearly as much as the southern coasts around Tokyo which were always completely packed, but this place was quite populated.

"Huh... Well I guess we'll just take a look around then", he said, turning to the rest.

Sato stood lost in thought beside Kotori for another few minutes, completely perplexed about whether or not he should have brought certain items when everyone else would bring them regardless, until he noticed more people joining their group. Shizuka and the latest in a series of Persona-users showed up, followed a bit later by an exasperated Matt, who had woken up late, but he decided against trying to talk to them on virtue of waiting for Mako to show up before he really started relaxing. It's not like he wouldn't have a good time if he didn't show, but it'd be good to know how he was gonna spend most of his day. Eventually, though, Sato saw Mako turn the corner around the station terminal, and he gave a wave to him. Sato parted from the group for a moment (which was a bit of a relief, as it seemed a bit awkward with the new kid and whatever was going on between Shizuka and Matt) to run over and greet Mako.

"Hey," Sato smiled, rubbing the back of his neck. What was he supposed to say...? 'Good to see you' or something? It wasn't like they hadn't seen each other recently or anything. Luckily, their conversation was cut short by the crescendo of the approaching train, the speakers crackling into life to announce that it was in fact the train they were taking to the beach. Sato looked over his shoulder to see Rui announcing to the group that they were going now, so Sato turned back to Mako and gave another weak smile. After a second of consideration, Sato reached out to hold his hand, but upon making contact, he felt like he was some kind of E.T. alien and it felt weird enough in public that Sato withdrew his hands and shoved them in his pockets. Maybe later.

Regardless, the whole group boarded the train and found a section of seats next to each other. Sato, of course, sat next to Mako, but the whole train ride was uneventful as a whole seeing as everyone was still waking up and there wasn't exactly much to talk about besides how excited they were for the beach. The sights weren't much new for the most part either, until they came out of a tunnel and suddenly the trees disappeared to reveal a stunning open coast. Sato tried to awkwardly lean over Mako, who took the window-seat, to the try to get a better look of it. The weather was absolutely perfect as well, and they could even see the nearby landmass of China in the distance... The view was stunning.

[. . .]

Soon after being greeted by that view, they were let off at a train station only a couple minute walk away from the beach itself. The train station itself was surprising new, with an untainted appearance and modern design, but Sato figured it was the latest in a long series of urbanization that the area had been going through for the last several years. Kazuki soon explained this very thing to the group, and Sato felt a little smug for having already known this fact, but for some reason Kazuki seemed weirdly bothered by what he told them. Wasn't he a rich kid or something, so did his parents own a company or something that was competing with them...? Sato honestly couldn't really remember if Kazuki had revealed that much about himself, but hey, he went to a ritzy place so it was probably safe to assume.

Once they got to the actual beach strip, Sato surveyed the area. There were quite a few changing rooms and a long line of stands and shops serving presumably any kind of refreshment you'd crave on a perfect beach day, but it only reminded Sato that he had also forgotten to bring any money with him... Maybe Mako would have some? Either way, with Kazuki and Megumi running off to find a good spot to camp out at, the group was left to their own devices to go do whatever. So... Uh. When were they gonna get in the water? That was pretty much why he came in the first place, but Sato guessed they had to get in the mood first or something. Unless someone was gonna make a dead-sprint for the shore, which wouldn't exactly surprise him at this point knowing some of the members of the team...

"So, what first?" Sato wondered out loud, still looking over at all the shops. "Though, I guess some of you guys still need to change into your swimsuits, huh?"

Kotori Shirohane - Warakuma Train Terminal | Saturday - Morning

As the time of departure drew closer, the last members of the group arrived one by one. As they did, Kotori made sure to greet them with a bow whilst counting off the number of companions in her head - even if it wouldn't do her much good without actually knowing how many people were supposed to be showing up in the first place. Still, it gave her at least a momentary lapse from glancing between her fellow Agriculture Club members. Not for the first time, she wished that she knew of some way to let them get along with each other as they had what now felt ages ago. A soundless sigh escaped her lips whilst everyone around her was already busying themselves with smalltalk between each other or gathering their things when the imminent arrival of their train was broadcast.

With her own bag in hand, Kotori boarded the train after most of the others had arrived - she couldn't help but count them off before coming to the satisfactory conclusion that everyone had gotten on - and moved to the first free spot among the seats that the rather large group had occupied. She ultimately found herself seated next to the window with her sunhat placed upon her lap - albeit only after multiple reassurances that it was alright and no one else wanted the seat. As the train pulled away, many of the conversations begun on the platform continued in some form or another - the inclusion of Kotori into which were mostly limited to only answer when directly addressed and otherwise simply listening instead. It wasn't too long though before her thoughts drifted to the book in her hand - which, a mere few minutes later, was instead in her hands with her bespectacled gaze firmly fixed on its pages.

So absorbed in her reading was she that Kotori would have missed the beautiful sight the revealed itself upon clearing the long tunnel, were it not for the many sounds of wonder coming from all around. A slight confusion was unmistakable upon her face as Kotori looked up - only for it to soon match the pleased expressions surrounding her when she followed their eyes out to the wide blue sea. The small smile would remain even for a while longer once her attention was returned to the book some time later.

---

Kotori Shirohane - Sadaomi Beach | Saturday - Morning

Stepping onto the platform, Kotori quickly made room to allow the others behind her to exit the train. With everyone accounted for, Kazuki would be the one to lead the way. As he did so, he off-handedly mentioned that the beach and indeed the whole surrounding area was only recently built or renovated. Preoccupied with looking around to confirm his words, Kotori missed the slight disapproval in Kazuki's voice. Thankfully, the beach itself was only a small walk from the station - and upon seeing it, Megumi's enthusiasm from before bubbled up once again as she dragged Kazuki off without even heeding a single word of protest, announcing that she'd make sure to grab a good spot while she did so. Kotori could do naught but blink at the rapidly departing figures - and evidently wasn't the only one, judging by the brief moment of silence that followed.

The first to break it was Rui - who, ever taking things in stride, noted that there was little point in standing around. A murmur of general agreement sounded at his words with Sato speaking up a moment later, asking what would be the exact course of action - before noticing that not everyone had already come wearing their swimwear, quite in opposition to himself. "Ah..." It was only then that Kotori remembered that, after all, swimming was indeed the main reason for going to the beach - and that doing so would require appropriate garments. Now that the time was at hand, she couldn't help but feel no small measure of embarassment at the thought of actually wearing her swimsuit, gingerly placing a hand to her chest - before reassuring herself, and not for the first time, that she had after all made sure that it would cover her scars. That was one thing that Kotori was still very much hesitant about.

Shaking her head as if to clear her mind, Kotori quickly glanced between the others from beneath the wide brim of her hat, looking to see where everyone else was headed and, ever the proactive one, simply following along. After all, this was supposed to be a fun trip and as such did not call for gloominess - though such was no easy task, she did her best to give a small smile which did turn out a lot less wry than most of the time when she took in the sight and sounds of the ocean from so close.

Ryan Chideta
1/8/15, Warakuma Train Terminal

Ryan smiled at Samuru's offer of a handkerchief but politely declined. "No point in cleaning up right now, it's so hot I'll be in the exact same position in 5 minutes." He chuckled lightly as he said this, observing the arrival of the new guy attempting to hide behind a trash can. Ryan decided not to point them out, not that he needed to with Shizuka arriving and pointing him out to everyone.

Ryan had to hold back a laugh as Kanna blushed and introduced himself to the group. Rui had filled him in on what his deal was earlier, he had been curious what had happened and Rui saw no need to hold back information. So far Kanna hadn't accepted the offer to join, but everyone did eventually. It was kind of just an inevitable thing for Persona users. That's the impression Ryan got anyways. He vaguely noted that Samuru was avoiding Sato and shook his head, it had been nearly two weeks since the trip into Seto yet Samuru was still feeling awkward. Ryan sighed and shook his head, perhaps they had been too hard on the guy. Hopefully this beach trip was what everyone needed to get closer as a team.

Shizuka explained her reason for lateness, making Ryan blush slightly and look away, that was quite the image. Something he would try very hard to not think about. "Your mother probably had the best idea." She also brought sandwiches and tea, which was very thoughtful of her. He would have to remember to buy her some food in exchange once they got to the beach. He would probably buy everyone food actually, it would make the trip much better. Matt arrived soon after this all transpired, being pretty late but just in time for the train. Matt and Shizuka were visibly avoiding looking at each other, same with Sato and Mako. "This is gonna be a weird day..." He muttered to himself as everyone boarded the train.

Sadaomi Beach

The train ride was nice, about two hours of chatting with Sato and Mako, sometimes jumping into others conversations but mainly sticking with them. As they approached the beach Ryan scooted closer to the window, he had never really been to the beach. His mom never had the time while his dad was... As the coast came into view Ryan smiled, it was the most beautiful thing he had ever seen. They got off a few minutes later and walked to the beach, Kazuki explaining the background behind the beach, with Ryan becoming extra attentive at the mention of the Nanjo Corporation. "OH, I know about them! My mom's company does joint projects with them all the time." He then noticed how uncomfortable Kazuki was and he cringed, probably not the best time to mention that.

Kazuki and Megumi soon left the go find a spot on the beach for everyone, leaving Rui to act as their leader once again. Sato suggested changing into swimsuits and Ryan nodded. "Probably a good idea, we brought them for a reason." Ryan laughed as he headed towards the changing area, finding an empty booth and entering, making sure to lock the door behind him. Didn't want any zany mishaps. He quickly changed into his blue swim trunks and came out, blushing slightly. He had never really shown this much skin before, it was embarrassing. The first thing anyone would note is that Ryan was kinda buff, he had a defined six pack and pretty toned muscles too, not disgustingly ripped but definite muscle definition. If one looked more closely though they would also see signs of faded scars all over his body. Ryan's past was not a happy one. "So, what do you do at the beach normally?" He asked everyone, this was his first time and he didn't really get what you did besides swim.

Samuru Amakusa

Samuru withdrew his handkercief at Ryan's refusal, glad the other kid was in a better mood.

"All right," he said, his spirits becoming slightly better as well. "Well, if you need any help -" He then noticed Kanna hiding behind the trash can, and was going to wave him over before Shizuka pointed him out to everyone. Speaking of Shizuka, she and Matthew looked like a fine couple...same for Mako and Sato; he had been surpised when he had seen they were an item. He wished them well.

Everyone seemed to be doing fine, especially Rui and the two other...leaders (?) of the group. Pausing to check his beach equipment, Samuru smiled as he saw that yes, he was as prepared as he was back in the old days at Nagasaki, with sunscreen, trunks, tanning lotion, and snacks. Oh, and a sketchbook and art supplies (pastels were the best) and iPod.

This was going to be a great day.

Sadoami Beach

Kazuki and Megumi; Rui's friends. Samuru was tempted to ask Rui about what was up with them, but decided not to prod. Instead, he went to one of the changing areas, where he quickly changed into a red speedo; he couldn't help but like the color. Coming out at the same time as Ryan, Samuru would raise an eyebrow at the scars, but decide not to prod. Instead, in response to Ryan's question, he brought out his sketchbook, and said:

"I sketch; pastels are underrated nowadays. Actually..." a smile at that; "want me to sketch you? I'm only as good as an average art class student, but I think I can make a passable picture."

Shizuka Otonashi || Warakuma Train Terminal || August 1 SAT: Morning

Upon having been introduced to the newest member of their investigation group, Shizuka lowered her head for a bow and flashed a welcoming smile. "It's a pleasure to meet you, Kanna-san. My name is Shizuka Otonashi, a first year from Warakuma High. Welcome to our little group!" Looking at how nervous the teen seemed to be, she painfully understood how it felt to be the new member to the group. Would I be of any help? Would they accept me even after witnessing my shadow? All sorts of thoughts wandered through her mind then, it could be a similar situation for him as well.

A familiar voice greeted her in response to which the freshman turned her attention to. It was Kotori, Shizuka's upperclassman and fellow Agriculture Club member. "Glad to see you're going to the trip as well, Shirohane-senpai." It was reassuring to have someone familiar to go out on a trip with. Speaking of, once she took a moment to survey her surroundings, there were quite a number of familiar faces here and there, to her relief. One of which was Ryan, who commented to her mother's decision against the original swim wear. A confused expression was all the maiden could respond with, was there something questionable with her tastes?

“Sorry…. I'm… late.. Woke up late.” Thump. As if her heart was about to leap out of her chest, Shizuka flinched in surprise merely at the sound of his voice. Subconsciously, the girl's eyes searched for him upon her arrival and hid the disappointment upon her features when the boy was nowhere in sight. Unable to contain the joy she felt, a slight curve made its way upon her lips with a turn of her head towards the upperclassman's direction. Matt and Shizuka's eyes met for a split second but that was all it took for the two to avert their gazes away from each other with cheeks tainted with a rosy hue. The soft smile of joy grew into a lonely, melancholic smile instead as the group moved towards the train to the beach.

Shizuka Otonashi || Sadaomi Beach || August 1 SAT: Morning

Arriving at the beach, people scattered to either scout for a spot upon the sands or to change into their swim wears. The freshman decided to follow the latter idea, seeing the blazing hot sun and the glittering blue waters were more than enough to tempt anyone into splashing into the water. Finding the changing rooms along with the others was an easy task with all the sign boards leading to them. Taking a good couple of minutes to get changed, Shizuka emerged from the changing rooms with a pure white bikini top adorned by a ribbon at the center and a colorful tropical skirt that covered her lower bikini piece until it was the appropriate time to swim. It took more time to cover her skin in sun block lotion as the sun seemed bright enough to sun burn anyone in a matter of few hours.

Walking along the shore with a parasol to block the rays of the sun, Shizuka started towards the group not too far off from where she was.

Matthew Harvester|| Sadomi Beach

Along the train ride Matt seemed to wake up fully and beggin jittering around, it had been so long since he had last been to the seaside. Upon finally arriving after the not so eventful ride Matt had a big grin on his face, nothing could beat the beach during summer time, With his joyful stride he followed the rest of the group until Kazuki and Megumi stormed off.

As everyone decided that they needed to get ready Matt chimed in with his ever so…. Well something remarks, “I was born ready for the beach”, Walking off he let out a burst of idiotic laughter. With the group separating and reforming at an unknown rate Matt used the time to set his stuff down at the point that was seemingly decided on before stripping off all unnecessary clothing in a matter of seconds. While doing a few light stretches to warm up for the day Ryan asked a very important question, "So, what do you do at the beach normally?" and obviously Matt had the perfect answer as a beach ball was pulled out of the bag.
“What else is there to do but play ball in the water” Laughing again Matt ran off to get his first taste of the cool ocean water on his body.

That was until he noticed something in the corner of his eye, which caused the head to tilt, resulting him to be momentarily paralyzed by the sight of Shizuka in her swimsuit. The end result of this would clearly be seen by everyone in the area as Matt tripped and face planted straight into the hard sand as water washed over his head soon after.

He meant on not in.

Mako Moritomi//Sadaomi Beach

Saturday, August 1, 2015

Mako tried and only partially succeeded at stopping himself from gaping at the view before him as he stepped off the train. It had been a long, long time since he'd come to the beach. Not since... well. Since the last time he'd been in Tokyo, at least. Sosuke had taken him and Haku while his parents sorted something out, or whatever it was they were really doing. He shook off the unhappy memories. He was here, and this was now- he didn't need to stay wrapped up in the past anymore. Not when he had so much to look forward to here. He looked over at Sato, a small smile gracing his lips as he let his eyes wander over him.

It was refreshing, not to have to hide his interests among his... friends? Friends seemed appropriate. They weren't merely associates or acquaintances, after all. Not after what they'd seen and done together. Pondering that fact momentarily- when was the last time he even had friends- he adjusted his bag over his shoulder. While he was already wearing his dark-grey-and-blue swim jammers (with a matching tank top), he still had a change of clothes with him, so he wouldn't have to walk around in wet clothing all day. He then noticed that Sato seemed... under-equipped for this venture. Hm. He'd have to see what he could do to help with that- he had a decent amount of money from various odd jobs he'd taken here or there.

A few people seemed to wonder what it was one did at the beach- Ryan flat-out saying so- so Mako felt inclined to speak up.

"Well, swimsuits plus water is kind of a no-brainer. I haven't been to the ocean since I was a kid, so hopefully I'm not too rusty in the swimming department. Apart from that, there's refreshments- shaved ice and such. Oh, but remember to wear sunscreen! And keep reapplying it every so often! Come on," said Mako, grabbing Sato's hand quickly and deliberately, starting to drag him over to the changing rooms. "I have some sunscreen if you need it. And then, shaved ice!"

As they walked, Mako felt Sato's hand squirming in his, as though trying to escape, like earlier. Um... no. Not this time. Mako shifted his grip, forcing his fingers in between Sato's, interlacing them.

"Hey," he said quietly, turning to look the older boy in the eyes. "I just want you to know... I'm not ashamed of this. And neither should you be. We've been through, and will yet go through, worse than this. This?" he said, raising their laced fingers to eye level, "This makes me feel safe. It makes me comfortable. And I hope it does for you, too, at least a little. If it doesn't, then we'll stop for now, but..."

Here, Mako looked back at their friends, then off to the sides of the relatively-empty strip (most people were already down at the beach by this time). Then, quick as can be, he pressed a quick kiss to Sato's lips, before leaning up to his ear.

"I kinda like just being able to hold my boyfriend's hand," he said, face burning. He backed away, uncaring of the few curious or awkward glances being thrown their way. He'd been hiding for long enough- he would never do so again. He started walking forward, tugging Sato along with him. To his credit, he had stopped trying to escape.

"Now. Let's go get ourselves a treat- I'm buying. What would you like?"
