Son of a ship's captain, with a penchant for gambling and the type to flirt with any girl or guy that isn't trying to kill him - and sometimes even if they are. An easy joker, and while he keeps his guard up, he's not about to stand aside when it's clear he can help. He's worth his word and he'll stick to it too. Believes in Haeldra.
A young noble, who almost entirely embodies the dashing rogue, willing to bend a few rules to ensure others are preserved. Quite reserved and polite, he is still skilled with words and is unlikely to hold back a smile. He is an educated man, and can be found reading from or writing in his journal. Quick to stand to the defense of his friends, he won't tolerate any kind of injustice.
Inherently, both of them are the same. They won't give their trust to someone they barely know, but they will defend them. They both can talk their way around people, though Brass is more skilled in street talk than Rowan, and Rowan in civilised conversation than Brass. Both will wield a single handed rapier, and occasionally make use of a shield or throwing knives. Both will start with a leather coat as their 'armour', though I imagine Rowan's is better protection, but Brass' is lighter. They've also lost at least one relative - Rowan's mother, Brass' father.
And then comes a dilemma. I have a prior attachment to Brass, given that he was made for an RP not dissimilar to this one, but it fell through. However, I also enjoy Rowan's character quite a bit. And thus, I've no idea which one to go for. If anyone has any advice?

@CollectorOfMyst I wanna be useful in giving an advice but those two are equally good and charming characters. Because I'm vain, I'd take Rowan because goddamn that trenchcoat? It's amazing. I feel that Brass has more potential, though. I rather like the pirate background.

@Elle Santiago Nah, it's not a problem. But that's how literally all the ships looked back then - Brass is currently holding onto a Jacob's Ladder, an instrumental part of any large boat using sails - given they had to actually be able to reach the cross mast (the part parallel to the ground) to tie it.
(And I like Rowan's trenchcoat too. Flowy clothes are always awesome.)

@CollectorOfMyst You have ship knowledge! Would it be alright if I one day spontaneously PM you about how ships were run during those days? I've always wanted to know about those things but my google-fu fails me. Horribly.
@Elle Santiago My paternal Grandparents own a yacht - they've sailed it around quite a few European coast lines (oh yeah, forgot to mention, I'm a nocturnal Brit.) But those things are just what I've picked up and remembered. For example, the port is the right side and starboard is the left side. However, if told to turn to port, that means turn left.
