Well it honestly depends on how you have the races setup. Which goes back to my other question. So for the, Human Only Kingdom. And this is not going to be a nice historical fact I am about to bring up. Do they have a servant work force? And if so, whom? To produce good you need a strong labor force and slaves are much cheaper and easier to use than say actual paid workers. Sure you have your peasants, but they work the fields. What about your plantations? Trade negotiations. How about in the castles or for the gentry?

For the equal race kingdom. You could easily setup like they do in other works. Names that reflect class. The Noble Elves in high power, gain more complex names to show their worth and superiority. While the Common Elves in no position of power could have rudimentary names.

And depending on who you have decided to be the slave labor in the human environment, slave names.

Yes.

A rudimentary name, may describe either the place they were born, what time of day they were born, may even describe the color of their hair, or may describe an animal that is their spirit. Or even, like they do in Japan, represent what order the child came from like "first son" "first daughter"

You know weird elf stuff. It should be noted, that any U are pronounced "oo" , Dh is like a "th" sound in these or this. And CH is pronounced with a K.

An example of a rudimentary common name may be;

Tuilinn [too-ee-linn] which means Swallow

Tad [tahd] means Second [implied second son/daughter]

Where as more complicated, Noble Elf names may follow this pattern. This is traditional in both Tolkein's work and another work in another fantasy novel

The first name an Elf receives in his/her life is the “Father or Mother's-Name.”

The name itself is usually made from one of the parent’s names. If the child is a boy, it will be fashioned after one of his father’s names; if it’s a girl, it will be fashioned after one of her mother’s names. It is not unheard of for girls also to have names fashioned after their fathers’ or boys to have names fashioned after their mothers’, or to have a name fashioned after a grandparent’s name. This name is sometimes based off of who is more well known in the family.

The name can be modified later to better fit the personality of its bearer, though it will still be modeled after the parent’s name.

The next name an Elf has could either be his/her “Mother-Name” or the “Chosen-Name.”

There are three types of Mother-Name;

This sort of name may come from a vision the mother receives in the hour of birth. This sort of vision isn’t all that common, so these names are rare and important gifts.

The second type is the “Amilesse Apacenye,” or “name of foresight.” She names her child from a "vision of the future".

The last type comes from getting to know the child as his/her personality develops, which means it could come after the Chosen-Name.

The last type of name, called the “After-Name,” or “Epesse" Most of the time, it is little more than a nickname.

In practice it would look something like this;

The name Aegnor (pronounced [ˈaeɡnɔr]), is a Sindarized form of his Quenya mother-name Aicanáro or Aicanar ([aikaˈnaːrɔ]), meaning "Fell-fire", apparently given with regards to his character. His father-name was Ambaráto (in Telerin Quenya), meaning "High Noble".

Aegnor Ambarator "high noble of fell fire, or son of the high noble and fell fire] and you could argue Egnor [the way his name was spelled in the books] could have been a nickname.

@AngelofOctober Awesome! Thank you for enlightening me on that. You'll have to forgive me as I am obviously out of my depth here. My intention was to have a very basic skeleton of each race and allow rpers the flexibility to expand on them through their characters. For the sake of a casual RP, it's mainly why I didn't specify who and what are all the monarchs and nobles, as it will allow players the chance to create their own and not feel overwhelmed or obligated to use already established ideas in the genre.

Basically, there is no set culture or standard for every race and I will allow as much creative freedom in that regard. Inconsistencies might be abound, but that can spark a level of diversity that we can play with in our interactions together.

Edit: I have to sleep and will be working throughout the week but will try to frequent here as much as I can and answer anymore questions. I am very much in support of collaborating ideas. Goal is to start by the end of the week.

Sweet fantastic. Off to make my human trafficked sex slave Elf woman and her young child then.

The thing is this, the Human kingdom with only humans is going to choose someone as a slave force, and it more than likely would be the Elves. The Orcs are too dumb, Dwarves are loners, and any other race coming along would put up too much of a fight. Human trafficking or really elf trafficking could be used for a few things;

Exotic beauties working in the gentry as servants and slaves, make rich people look even more fancy

To be fair taking lessons from histories, Elves might even trade other elves into slavery especially of the noble kind when it comes to commoners for more land or influence

And face it a Human man is going to have some exotic beauties to hem hem

I was looking over your character, for a general idea of what you were looking for in the sheets, and I noticed your character's equipment, particularly their weapons, seem to be going off the weapons in the image.
But, there's a small thing I noticed with that.
This is what you have:
Long sword, Short sword, Daggers x 2

But, that's not actually what's in the image.
You see, the blade in his right hand, is a short sword, while the one in his left is a dagger. The two sheathed blades, are just average knives. I know how it might seem confusing, since daggers are often portrayed as normal knives, but they are not. They are larger than knives, but shorter than swords. Often used in tandem with a short sword.

An easy way to tell, is a long sword is a two handed weapon. One would have to be either untrained, or extremely foolish to use it as a one handed, much less dual wield with one.

I'm not trying to be judgy or anything, just helpful, sorry if it comes off as bitchy or anything ^.^"

Height: 5’6”, 167 cm

Weight: 125 lbs, 56 kg

Build: Slim

Race: Elf

He didn’t quite fit the picture of a wanted criminal, nor did he quite fit the picture of the quite fearsome assassin the legends of Snowy-Eyes painted him out to be. He was actually kind of short, and he didn’t dress like someone who was afraid or hiding, despite his talents all pertaining to the shadows. He actually seemed to revel in the throes of life

Choosing to instead wear a captain’s hat or something like a captain’s hat, a leather vest, and leather gloves, with leather riding boots. Military like breeches, and a emerald green tunic underneath his coat wrapped by a lighter yellow emerald sash.

Cinched in by a waist belt for his knife. Around his neck was a bandanna wrapped around his adam’s apple and most of his throat, a triangle shape formed over his chest piece, with a simple small chest plate around most of his sternum, with his coat off you’d notice it’s fastened with leather buckles and straps.
*His breastplate is not a full size breast plate. It really is built for a lith, slimmer, humanoid form, because he’s smaller than a human is, his breast plate is smaller, and doesn’t sit across the first upper torso. His breast plate is more similar to a woman’s breastplate, but built for a man’s “broad chest” [considering he is so lith he isn’t that broad] it sits across to protect the heart, the lungs, and part of the ribcage. But his abdomen is slightly more exposed since the sash sits more around his middle torso, and lower torso.
Here's a reference, but the chest piece metal and I am keeping the leather piece around his waist, he simply disguises it with the sash.

His snowy blond hair was cut short, it though was quite wavy and didn’t seem to want to be tamed with any techniques to make it look presentable. His eyes were indeed snowy, a beautiful, shimmering, youthful gray that almost glinted like the polished steel of a blade.

Personality Strength

Ironically he didn’t give off much of a criminal vibe to those who knew him or grew to know him. His quiet, demure nature was not one he had purposely chosen for himself. If he could speak, he’d probably be described as a calm, strong willed and strong hearted individual. Who strive for his own personal identity and independence.

Nothing to condemn him about. He didn’t even seem to have any thrill in the deaths he caused. Some would say that he seemed quite sympathetic to the deaths he caused, some accounts who don’t paint him as a monster portray him praying or something like it in his own way to his victim’s bodies.

But none of that deterred him to get what he wanted or reach for what he wanted. Silme always looks forward never in the past, he always has his foot forward towards the future. Someone who seeks atonement. If perhaps he was not an assassin who took to the shadows, some would have considered him a brave and loyal knight. But most see him as a disloyal shady character, even though all of his actions say much more.

His willingness to aid those he sees as part of his clan. His willingness to help others. To show forgiveness, even mercy. A lack of cruelty brings serenity to his silent demeanor. He laughs, but silently, with others, he cries with others, he is not devoid of emotion. He seeks justice. He seeks atonement and seems to want to do good.

He can also be very generous and very sweet, respectful, charming even in his own way.

But no matter what he shows, to some they see him as a nefarious and shady character and the stories about him and his Snowy-Eyes becomes more and more monstrous the more and more mouths speaks the story they heard from their aunt who knew a guy who knew a woman who heard for her son who knew a witness what he had done.

Personality Flaws

No matter what Silme wants to be and who he is are two different things. It doesn’t take away the things he has done or is willing to do to cross his achievements. While Silme may be kind, and generous, tenderhearted, and sympathetic. He may lack cruelty. It doesn’t mean he hasn’t done horrible things. Nor does he seem to want to correct them either.

Because he always has a foot in the future, he barely looks upon the past of what wrought he has brought to others lives. Silme believes the actions he is now taking will atone for all the sin and pain he has caused. While few would criticize Silme believing his actions some kind of redeemable noble cause, Silme shows little in the way of regret once he has set his mind that he has atoned for it.

Countless men who have fought war, would grovel at the horrors they have caused, the sea of blood they drown in and can never wash their hands of blood. It either is that Silme is so narrow minded he cannot be tormented by his own actions or that Silme so believes in his cause to atone that he is not bothered to look at the horror he has caused.

And despite Silme striving to atone for his actions he continues to actions that make others bat an eye. He kills without batting an eye. And only after he kills with a cold heart does he pray for his victims. It seems a bit backwards and wishy washy. He doesn’t seem to do it for cruel malicious reasons like he enjoys the thrill of killing, but in the moment of life and death he sees them as mere obstacles first, then people second which unnerves some.

His quiet disposition, not a choice of his own, also makes it hard for those to question his morality. Because how do you argue morality and ethics with a mute, who could have a difficult time trying to explain complexities of life through pictographs and hand gestures in the form of signed language.

It’s also hard then to understand what is going on in Silme’s mind in these moments because he cannot express them with words to formulate his thoughts. Only through the gestures and actions he takes.

Silme not a cruel individual. He barely accounts for aloof, because his enigmatic nature only comes in the form he cannot speak his ideas so easily. While not cruel, he is ruthless and efficient. And some mistake that as malice and cruel.

I would also suggest something along the lines of racial abilities being added. Different races are drastically different, and have certain natural talents to show this...otherwise it comes off as all these fantastical races being just normal humans, with fantasy race appearances. :3

Story:

Na’Shira’s life is far from an epic story, one told in the halls of many Orc towns nor is it a sob story of how she was sold into slavery. Her life was easy compared to those of many of her kind for she lived in a small northern kingdom where Orcs were able to live peacefully with the humans and elves. And thus, that was also where her story begun, in the small kingdom known of Bernholdt. There she was born to a first time mother and a father all too excited to welcome his child into the world, silently hoping for a boy who could take up the family business of serving their king. Unfortunately, he got a daughter. He got Na’Shira who would be his pride, a daughter who would exceed his expectations every time.

Her early life was simple, she was doted on by her Father near every hour of the day when he was home and her Mother watched her grow up. Always was Na’Shira feisty, always on the move and looking to go on an adventure when she learned to crawl and then walk. She played with the village kids, though some avoided her due to her Father’s work with the King of Bernholdt, being his personal hunter. They knew that, in due time, Na’Shira would be groomed to take his position should the man not bear a son. And he never would for his wife soon came down with an illness in the winter, subsequently dying in her sleep.

In the years after her Mother’s death, Na’Shira spent her every waking hour with her Father. He watched her like a hawk, led her on walks through the forests and asked her questions about the scenery. He trained her to observe as much as possible around her, to see what most people would overlook. Such was the way of the hunter after all. He had her memorize landmarks until, at the age of fourteen, she was able to guide them both through the forest and to the lake in its center and back. Soon after, she began the true training with her Father, the training with sword and bow. It was arduous training yet valuable time with her Father, something Na’Shira loathed and looked forward to every day.

Her body changed quickly under her Father’s watch, her workouts, diet, and training leading to the development of a strong body. One could say that it was in her genes, that she would’ve developed that way anyway without the extra work. Either way, she soon was able to match her Father’s moves after nearly six years of training. Of course, she could never beat her old man for he still had many more years of experience over her but Na’Shira certainly wasn’t an untrained fighter. But, her Father was growing older. His body began to ache far too much, his hands shake as he aimed with his bow, and his eyes weren’t what they use to be.

It was two years later that she replaced her Father in the King’s Grand Hunt, as the only member of the hunting team younger than 30. She served the King well that year, leading him to not only kill a rare hart that had eluded him and her Father for many years. The creature was comin on eight years of age yet its horns were magnificent, a beauty unlike any other the King had killed in his lifetime. And so, that is where one would think Na’Shira’s story ends. Yet, it is not. She was destined for something more, something she had never thought of. She was destined to be a Swordseeker, a hunter of mythical creatures. That is, at least, if she believed in mythical creatures.



Equipment:
-A Composite Bow: This weapon has been with Na’Shira for almost four years, a gift from the King of Bernholdt after she helped him kill the exquisite hart. The bow has horn taken from said hart used in it and is made from hickory that grew in the forests around his castle. She has prized the gift since it was presented to her by the King.
-A Baselard Dagger: Her dagger ran in the family, a gift as a sign of allegiance to the King of Bernhardt when her family first became his persona hunters.
- A Simple Hunting Knife- Just a iron knife that Na’Shira keeps with her, only ever used in hunting.
-A Simple Arming Sword: The sword is nothing special, made from high quality iron and crafted only a year ago, well kept by Na’Shira as all her weapons are.
-Her Armor: Na’Shira is physically larger than most women and, as such, had to have her armor specially made for her. She wears a simple gambeson and partial plate in the form of a cuirass, faulds, rerebrace, and vambrace. Her plate is attached by sturdy leather straps and was made specifically for her, at the order of the King of Bernhardt.
-Clothing: When not readied for combat, Na’Shira wears simple, woolen clothes of brown or light green and has a coat for cold weather made from bear pelt. The bear coat was a gift from her Father to honor her first successful hunt without him.



Personality:

One would think that Na’Shira was like her Father, a stoic young person who rarely interacted with others, who was always the outcast in the village. This is rather the opposite of who she really is. She has always been able to interact with people fine, often being very charismatic for a woman whose profession is to hunt and kill for a living. People found it easy to be around her, at least in her home village. Even then the outside word found it easy to accept her for who she is, an orc whose own goal isn’t to make some great epic about herself but to simply help people where they request it.

Na’Shira had always possessed the reputation of completing tasks that most people weren’t able to do in her home village, something that carried over to her time in the Swordseekers. While she does not possess a sense of justice driving her to complete the contracts, she does believe that they must be completed for the good of the people and for them to have peace of mind. Failure to do so is, to her at least, leaving people to essentially die, something she could never stand by due to the teachings by her Father and how she grew up.

She holds a belief that everybody must support each other, no matter of the race, otherwise they will fall apart. A village only flourishes with a farmer shares his crops with the miller and the miller shares his flour with the baker; the same can be said that a people will only grow and live peaceful lives if a hunter completes their tasks. Though, it was quite obvious in her first year with the Swordseekers that her belief as such would be used to manipulate her, to have her ‘help’ other seekers complete a contract only to receive no reward. This nature of hers has also led to turning down legitimate payment if it seems that the people need it more than she did.

Sometimes this leads to problems with other Swordseekers, mostly those who request she help them with a contract, and has led to her being a sort of outcast from the main core of the Swordseekers. Though, she doesn’t quite mind being the outcast as long as she completes her duties. The only thing that ever gets in the way of completing her duties is that she is a tad bit of a drunkard, often drinking too much some nights and passing out only to awake in the morning and realize she was late to meet a person who hired her. That and her rather innocent drive to help others and being roped into helping people who, if there was another seeker, would be realized as bandits.




Skills:
-Hunter’s Instinct: Na’Shira’s training with her Father has done her well, instilling in her an instinct that is perfect for a hunter. The ability to notice things those less observant wouldn’t, to remember where she is going and directions simply by the stars and where she has been. All of it was taught to her over and over again for all her years of training, refreshed and branded into her mind every night. She also feels in her gut when something is amiss, when the area around her feels wrong. It is sort of like a sixth sense, feeling something that your mind has yet to process properly. It has saved her life before.

-Weapons Training: Eight years of training, that is what she went through before her Father considered her able to perform as the King’s Grand Hunter. She had to learn how to use the composite bow, how to fight with a dagger and sword, and how to kill a boar with a spear. Afew bits of her training were, of course, unnecessary for anything aside from self-protection. After all, it isn’t like she was going to get in a sword fight with a deer. But it was more than possible to run into a poacher or deserter in the forests and need to protect herself.

-Survival Training: Sometimes a hunter needs to stay in the forests for a long time, longer than their supplies will last them even, and will need rely on their own knowledge to survive. As such, her father had given her long lectures on this subject of hours almost every day of the week when he was available. She was taught knowledge on starting a fire, what wood burns best and what items would create a decent amount of smoke to ward away wild animals. She also was given the knowledge of how to skin an animal, create a fishing pole and line, and even what kind of berries are safest for consumption. Also encompassed some training in how to bind wounds and make minor poultices, though she didn’t pay as much attention during those lessons it seems.

Physical Conditioning: Na’Shira isn’t some goddess of physical performance, likely far from it considering much of her strength was focused on strength. But, that isn’t to say that she isn’t well conditioned for long journeys and hard battles. She can spend a few hours running through the dense forest vegetation in order to follow her prey and can carry the haul of meat back well enough on her own. She is oddly well suited for the job of a Swordseeker in this case, calling upon her naturally strong body to match the others when the need be.

Low-light Vision: Some Orcs are blessed with the natural ability to see better at night than humans, Na’Shirak is one of those orcs. At night, she can see clearer and further than a human can but only by about twenty feet or so. It doesn’t help when it is pitch black in a cave though as they do not possess any sort of vision allowing them to see in the dark.

I have some more questions. Your wording is confusing. Are the beast we will be fighting paranormal or not?

Only a select few have actually dealt with spirits and demons -- the wild beastiary of the land are often mistaken for paranormal monsters.

So are the monsters we will be fighting, paranormal or not? Could you expand on this?

Also, why are the PCs Sphinx ranked? Shouldn't we be past our training? And, why is the GMs character old as fuck, and Sphinx'd rank?

I mean if you're inspired by Witcher, Geralt wasn't set out on a mission when he was still doing the Trials of Grass. You became a Witcher before you Witcher'd.

So, why wouldn't they become Chimera to be a Swordseeker?

And why would anyone hire still in training Swordseekers for this awesome mission?

I'm sorry if it seems I am picking at everything. But I seriously want to make a good character. But things need to be cleared up.
