I don't dislike the idea of a reboot. While a fresh start might be helpful, a stronger direction + more forward planning will be needed for the story. Mostly because otherwise, I think we might just end up where we are now again.

I'll still be around for the foreseeable future though.

Let me offer a bit of an explanation for what he's saying, because I'm the one who actually suggested it:

Has anyone seen Sliders? If so, then me mentioning that show explains everything to you simply enough. If not, then the plot of Sliders is strikingly similar to this RP. A group of people dimension hopping through different versions of Earth. The only difference is that the Sliders cast all originated from the same Earth (which for the purposes of setup was the default "Real" Earth, as in identical to Real Life) whereas our cast of characters was plucked from multiple Earths. Us all starting on the same Earth is meant to give us a more timely and structured beginning. Less time is spent searching for and gathering us together, and whatever version of Earth we start on is considered the de facto "default" Earth that serves as the baseline for which all the others can follow. Another thing Sliders makes regular use of is having the characters run into different versions of the same people from time to time, including themselves. I suggested framing the story this way because Letter told me he wanted to not have any fictional worlds and have them all simply alternate histories with no fictional basis (so no Panem, no Madoka Magica, etc).

I do understand such a suggestion requires some character tweaking and rewrites for most of us, so I don't blame anyone for being apprehensive to the idea.

So here's the deal: @Letter Bee told me he would be willing to give me permission to take the reins and manage the reboot. My only reservation is that I don't want to go putting together a new thread only for no one to show up, so before I do anything I want to know how many of you will take part in the reboot if I start it? Bear in mind, my GMing style is almost certainly going to be different from Letter's, as is my actual writing style. That basically means I plan to follow my own suggestion and start everything on one World/Earth as well run a beginning arc that takes place entirely on that Earth before the Multiverse elements are introduced.

@Rockin Strings And that's a valid concern. I did openly admit that my suggestion would probably mean that a few characters would have to be tweaked or outright changed for such a thing to work. I made that suggestion knowing full well it might not be well-liked.

I shall follow your lead on this idea's rebirth. Whatever changes need to happen towards my character, I have no problem working with on that end, either. While my absence may suggest otherwise, I assure you that I'm willing to give this my all!
