That's cool. I'm alright with them being that similar. If we wanted, maybe they could interact in their altered states. I think it'd be funny my guy running into someone he couldn't pass through or seeing two of you. Their powers could stay completely separate too if you want them to stay more unique.

You're right, it is up to the GM. Unless he's appointed you a co-gm, it'd probably be best to stop making assumptions on his behalf about what is/isn't acceptable, the GM is capable enough to point out problems as is.

In addition, at no point has it been said that secrecy is a major point in the RP, only that the characters would have kept their powers hidden up until now, and until the GM says otherwise, there isn't a problem with a character having the ability to sense others with powers or even what their powers are.

Now, while there's nothing wrong with making comments on how one could improve their character, it's a completely different story saying that a Character should be changed without the GM saying so first. So, it'd be appreciated if you let the GM GM, instead of taking things into your own hands.

I, for one, agree with DeadDrop. While I do think that it's the GM's ultimate decision, I don't think it's out of bounds for someone to ask for a change if they feel that it's going to spoil their experience. And yeah, I do feel that his power can easily become really meta, and I don't feel like it's in the spirit of the roleplay to have a power where you can easily out everyone around you.

Well, is it the character's intention to "out" other superhumans? If he does, that would create a source of conflict, wouldn't it? The idea of powers needing to be "secret" only harbors suponse when there's a chance of exposure.

It should also be recognized that players are already in the know of who's super and who isn't, so there's no real surprise factor if someone's character is "discovered."

I, for one, (as someone looking to apply) am entirely comfortable with another character being able to "sense" the presence of superpowers.

I just thought touching someone and knowing their exact power and that they were super humans was a bit silly, you're blowing this out portion dude - lol.

BIGGEST EDIT: I don't mind people finding out my guys is a super as it will prolly happen anyway in the rp but physical contact and he knows someone is a super is kinda cliche and silly.

It's one thing to create a source of conflict, it's another thing that one character knows every other super in the story, and it might not be the purpose of the character to out other supers, but it's not really fun knowing that there's a character who can completely fuck yours over without any effort. And the players know who's super, but the characters for the most part have no clue.

The scope of Acceptable powers isn't up to anyone but the GM, so if you have a problem with it, bring it up with him.

@Juicy That makes three of us.

I'm saying that not every issue needs to go to the GM if the players can sort it out themselves.

Yea and I just remembered some people might be apping stealth supers or w/e and they dont know their powers yet it would be pretty fucky if they got found out a few posts in cus they got touched or w/e and no offence to @ReusableSword I'm not trying to bash on your char or anything even if it may come out like we're bitching about powers. I just think we should have a discussion if we all want a power like that, because I know some powers are blacklisted and for reason and maybe this should be one of them hopefully Frog God98 returns soon so we can talk to him aboot it.

If having Cliche powers was a problem, none of our characters would have been accepted to start off with.

Check out my last post I explained the power beyond it being cliche and silly.
I called it that regardless just because of the mechanic it brought into the rp.

And about "Policing," mate, this is only happening because you've tried having two players change their powers. It's not yours, mine, or anybody else place to do that except for the GMs.

He changed it on his own I didn't ask him to change it :)

It seems the question is whether the power is acceptable or not, and in that case, the GM should answer; frankly, there's not much discussion to be had if Ogo refutes the ability.

Regardless, I'll let my two cents sit. I will say, bringing "cliches" into this without apt comparison was unwarranted. Whether it's "silly" is subjective and ultimately unrelated to whether the power makes other players uncomfortable. We shouldn't use what's intended to be a "discussion" into bearing down on another player. That sort of attitude makes me uncomfortable.
