Long ago in a time lost to history, a grand and powerful wizard created a library to house all the knowledge he had gathered throughout the ages, and all the knowledge he still had to learn. This library expanded as he gathered all there was to gather, all there was within his reach to learn. The years began to drag on, many came and went to the library and rumors spread throughout the land of the wizard who had known all, Astioth. Many set out to seek his aid in political struggles, medical emergencies, protection from those that would seek to harm them, but most importantly those who sought to master the unseen. Mages from across the world, untrained and knowing only the most basic things about the energy they manipulated came to him for training, many he turned down and for years he taught nobody. As his reputation grew, and the tower became a more frequented place a town grew to inhabit the base of the tower stretching to the nearby coast that the tower oversaw. The town grew massive, gaining it's own reputation as a bustling port trade town where only the freshest fish and the most marvelous products can be obtained. Things stayed like this for hundreds of years, the wizard standing as a guardian of the city through the ages causing may to whisper that he had mastered even life itself, found the secrets of immortality to keep himself alive for all time. But one day something changed in the elder wizard's life. Cowering in a corner of his library he discovered a small half elf girl dressed in rags, clenching a half eaten loaf of bread. He questioned the girl and discovered she was a runaway slave, seeking shelter in the one place nobody dared to chase her. He noticed something in her, a spark of talent in something she herself couldn't explain. This girl became the first student to learn under the famed wizard, and within the next 50 years of her arrival the library became known as the Grand Arcanium, a school to teach those talented enough to wield that which they don't understand the arts of magic and sorcery under the tutelage of the most fearsome wizard to ever stand in the land. Two hundred years have past since those days, the school is now a thriving success filled with it's own teachers, masters of their schools and dedicated to the prominence of the Arcanium's knowledge. Students wander the halls, numbering a few hundred in total. (Rather large for the time mind you) A new semester is approaching, and the school is accepting new students to try and master the arcane. With a chime from the town clock tower, and the bustling of business in the town below, we find ourselves just a few days away from the new student's orientation day. What adventure does this new year hold in the mysterious tower of the Arcanium?

*You are very welcome to include visual aids in your posts. I don't mind kinda makes it interesting to scroll through eh?
*You are expected to be able to post at least ONE 5 sentence paragraph, the quality doesn't have to be high but use this rp as a chance to improve. This is a minimum so you may go as long as you like.
*NO GOD MODDING (Obviously if I have to I will do so, but please don't make me do that...)
*Remember you are students, no matter how talented you are there is always someone stronger than you in something, be humble in your combat and don't be afraid to lose. If you can't decide on a winner after a solid number of posts I will have to step in and decide for you. This way, nobody is too overpowered.
*If you're absent for too long (Say 3-5 days at most) we will move on without you. By no means will that mean you're out of the rp, but you will need to catch back up and offer an explanation to where you were. If this occurs in combat, you lose that fight and we will treat it as such.
*If you ask me for some history, don't use this knowledge like you always knew it in the rp, that's weird.

I dig it, ironically though I haven't put out any more history of the world in general you actually covered your bases so well that you fit the description of a prince in a country called Abazin, which controls a small territory located in a desert called the Desert of Hag'Dvad. If you want more information on it I'll gladly tell you more. It would integrate your character well, and you did a good job of making your character a prince without keeping his status something so special that it isolates others from the opportunity to make a character like this as well. All in all, I say excellent work. Not to overpowered and good use of general knowledge that integrates well into my pre-existing lore.

The history is kind of...choppy, since I want it to somehow match the personality I want to play. He is pretty strong, I have to admit, from the beginning, so if you want to nerf him, just tell me. But there is a fact that I want to play him as the kind of rival character who is simply there to entertain fighters who wanted to experience arena fighting. The element can also confuse you, so tell me if you have problems. Since it's written from my point of view and my way of explanation, I get it, but I'm not sure if you will.

Alright so I read this over and honestly I'm pretty enthusiastic about this character, it's an interesting story by far. You're right though I have a few concerns about this power, since by it's very nature is incredibly exploitable. The fact that you had to say "when oxygen isn't available" when being forced into the use of air magic makes me feel a bit scared that you will never be at a true disadvantage when in a fight. This is a form of powerful particle magic if I had to bring up a preexisting example for what I'm picturing it's like a cross of dust release from naruto and roy mustang's explosion alchemy from full metal alchemist. All and all I will have to hard nerf this form of magic, only on the grounds that causing explosions at will in any capacity is just strong as all hell. So I'm gonna hit you with some nerfs and buffs real fast to preserve the scale of raw power, but give others a chance to beat you if they're creative enough to do so if that's ok.

So first the easiest and most understandable nerf, this consumes a LOT of magical energy and I mean A LOT of magical energy. I base this on the grounds of my second change I will offer you. But when I say a lot I mean you get 2 shots before I say you're so physically exhausted you can't move, and if you fire a third you will die unless treated by an expert in healing immediately. Of course that being said, you can increase this limitation through the use of items and training, or by simply applying it in new ways such as not fully unleashing the potential energy.

Second, actually kind of a buff to be honest, this magic is not rooted in oxygen specifically but rather the building blocks of all matter in the form of the scientific term potential energy. You are already using this but you isolate oxygen specifically which I find to be a bit unnecessary since every atom in the known universe has this latent energy inside of it and actually fits your description of an immense power source since Einstein, I believe, covered this topic in his theory of relativity when talking about potential energy. Basically, we only harness so much energy from an object when we use it as fuel, and if we had the ability to access the full potential energy it had we would literally be able to power new york city for an hour with a single log. Potential energy is STUPID powerful, and so making this change would keep your power in tact as designed but give you the benefit of never running out of fuel for it.

Third, I'm also giving you slight skill in fire magic. Just flat out, if you can make crap explode then I find it rediculous to suggest you can't vibrate the atoms a bit less spontaneously and just light things on fire. Granted it'll be low level fire magic buuuuuut yeah. Fire magic.

And finally, I'm just gonna say you can't use healing magic for balls, enchanting and mind magic is hard to grasp for your character. This gives him some weaknesses that he can't brute strength his way out of and makes it so he can't flat out heal himself and give him the stamina to just spam.

Is this all acceptable revisions to you, @Conscripts?

P.S. Forest of Heria, And you can name your own country I have no lore for a place like that in particular, but will designate it to be on the far east coast of the continent just for geographical purposes. Your Enemy country can be the Frismira the Nordic equivalent country of ice in the north, a jealous king from there would be a great parallel to their typically peaceful ways and also highly revered in their skills of combat. That's just a suggestion though. Up to you if you want to include a line to them.

Yeah, I'm cool with most of the revisions, though the nerf to only two balls is a little underwhelming. Well, that's actually my fault, since I only want the radius of exlosion to only be one meter or two. So if the enemy can dodge it well, he'll end up conceding the match. But it is a actually very interesting nerf, since it promotes a high risk high reward kind of fighting style. Kind of if you mess up, you lose. So if possible, I'll make the radius of explosion around 1.5 meters (which is not too small or too big I think), and currently, he can only create the balls three times. Since three tries I think are less risky, but still risky, and I'll fight using the above style. And fire magic, he'll use it as a method to lure the enemy so that he can use the balls as effectively as possible. And yes, he'll still have high chances of losing against fast and maneuverable enemy. That'll be one of his weaknesses. The other one, you already mentioned.

So basically, just increase the number of balls created to three. That is if you'll allow me. If not, then I'll try to manage. Don't get me wrong, I know how to lose. I'm more than willing to if it serves as plot development for either sides or both. If everything is settled and I'll edit my sheet as a whole.

And thanks for spending time reading through and give me feedback on it. I feel really good for having a GM who is willing to do that.

Yeah it's np, I love characters they're so intriguing! So you're request to have 3 total shots at getting off a hit works fine with me since I was trying to say you have three but the third would hospitalize you. So we'll just bump that to 3 shots, 4th would hospitalize you. Try not to kill anyone with those explosions, and remember that just cause you can make explosions doesn't make you blast proof!

Alright, so let me get this out right of the bat. Well done, very well done. You're patience in writing out your CS paid off in spades, I found myself reflecting on how well her history flowed her from the average paragon of light as all high elves are expected to be to a new personality of a more dark and twisted attitude. Her talents in multiple arts is well justified since they are less volatile without creative application, and especially the Aether magic caught my eye. It reminds me of what I based my raw magical energy on, my namesake Ugin The Spirit Dragon from Magic the Gathering who wields magic in it's purest form. This topic of magic in purest form will come up quite often in lectures, and so your character will scale quite well as the rp goes on. Her dual personality adds a bit of drama and she'll fill the role of the class #$%^& that every school rp needs desperately to stir up some good old fashion drama. She'll be an excellent antagonist, and an even better overall character if you open yourself up to change as the story progresses.

In short, I like her a lot. You used the information I gave you very well and portrayed her culture accurately. This character is approved as is, though just a small note: Magic in it's purest form is blue, restoration magic without shape is gold. Just a heads up so you don't get confused when the teachers shape Aether in the rp. lol

I'm fine with it I just don't want you to be confused when I reference it later in the rp. Now that I have a few eager players I'll be writing up the first IC and moving people around vaguely to get through the whole orientation speech in one go.

This may take me some time to work out but once I've thoroughly established the setting and whatnot you'll all be free to act and react as you wish. Do remember that just because I say something in the rp, doesn't mean your character has to accept it as law. Especially you rune, since your character is a bit bratty on the inside feel free to try and get your way when your character wouldn't necessarily get what she wants, debate teacher's decisions, make fun of people, you know whatever you wanna do I only point it out so you won't feel the need to hold back on your character's persona. I'm going to purposefully make decisions everyone's characters may have issues with at some point or another. So All in all, everyone just react the way they deem to be fun and don't worry about stirring up drama. I'm going to now start the long and tedious process of writing up a general staff list and a few student personas for me to use for whenever you guys need an in to interact with someone. Please be patient playing an entire school will be a challenge for me I admit between roughly 10 characters and plenty of players that will require my attention as GM as well as having to juggle the decision to throw in challenges for you all. I hope you all look forward to this as much as I do!

And just a general statement since we are still welcoming newcomers, whenever a new student enters it will be treated as if they had joined the school at the same time but just happened not to meet you yet. Like that one kid that always sits in the back of the classroom and doesn't talk to anyone so he kinda just blends into the school environment like me in real life.

With that said, keep your eyes peeled, have fun, let the magic flow,
