Hey everyone I'm sorry, but I think I'm going to call this. The story progress has been slow (and I know that is mostly my fault) and I think a lot of people have lost interest with this. That includes me as I have had the time to write a post but just don't really want to. Thank you all for sticking around. I'll give this a bit of scrubbing, think through a more concrete story and maybe try to start this up again some time later. If that time comes please feel free to come back and try this again :)

@Skull I hope you're just as thrilled as I am for the Lomachenko v Rigondeaux fight. This has been a really good year for boxing! I thought Golovkin won that fight as week as much as I'd hate to admit, and that Spence v. Brook fight was phenomenal. That Crawford fight was also a great one, I put him on P4P no. 2. Poor Chocalatito :(

OMG this year has been ridiculous and there's still more good fights! Wilder vs Ortiz is finalized (Pls pass the drug test King Kong). Badou Jack vs. Bivol is going to be a sleeper. Broner vs Matthysse might get made and Loma vs Rigo like you mentioned! There's going to be so much skill in that ring it's going to be ridiculous. Rigo is definitely giving up a lot of advantages moving up two divisions, but if anyone can do it against someone like Loma, it's going to be Rigo...

GGG won it imo too. Canelo looked great in spots but GGG was carrying most of the rounds. A draw doesn't sit well with me, but I'm okay with it if that makes any sense. That 118-110 card however can jump into the Gangese river.

Crawford is amazing man. I haven't seen someone switch hit so well and so seamlessly since Hagler. Indongo was no pushover too and he made it look so easy. If he goes up to 147, I really see only Errol Spence giving him trouble.

Also Chocolatito... damn. That was rough to watch. Looked so lost out there trying to fight on the outside, and then reverting back to his regular style - only to get hit by dump trucks. Jim Lampley brought up a sad point that got me a little teary eyed when he mentioned his mentor Alexis Arguello hit the same kind of ceiling when he faced Aaron Pryor, losing first time controversially, and second in dramatic KO. I hope he retires and becomes a trainer in Japan like he said he would. How cool would it be if he was at Naoya Inoue's corner training for a match against Sor Rungvisai? That's some Rocky Balboa stuff right there.

Meantime, Rungvisai vs. Estrada would be amazing!

@Skull

I thought it was great seeing Mikey Garcia shutting Broner's big fat mouth. Was expecting a knockout that fight, but was still great. It would definitely be interesting to see Garcia fighting Postol and/or Antonio Orozco before maybe going against Crawford if he doesn't go up in weight just yet. I would dare say that Crawford is No. 1 on the p4p charts if he defeats Garcia before going up in weight and possibly beating Spence. They're both freakin monsters in the ring and would bring a technical war between the two fighters. Crawford just has this really unreal talent unmatched by anyone and has the ability to be a far better p4p fighter than Andre Ward historical-wise.

I think that Golovkin's boxing skills are quite underrated and often overlooked. A lot of people (typically casuals) often think of him as only a power-puncher without realizing the insane ring IQ he possesses which is how he outboxed Canelo despite not knocking him out. Canelo did really well too, his defense is just great but not enough. I understand the whole draw thing though despite me thinking Golovkin winning- I'm just really hoping Byrd would be fired for that bs 118 - 110 scoring.

I definitely see Naoya Inoue going up in the p4p charts and what you said kinda blew my mind. I also think he needs a little more time before challenging Rungvisai but to have Chocolatito at his side while doing it would be awesome. It's sad to think that Alexis Arguello possibly killed himself from his life going downhill and would be nice if Roman Gonzalez took the loss not as seriously and try to use his knowledge to pass down to if not Inoue but another legend. Then again, he's still only 30.

Really hope the weight doesn't both Rigondeaux too much. I'm expecting a legendary fight!

@Blubaron45 Oh man. Garcia vs Orozco would be a fun set up match before Crawford. I agree about Crawford man. He's got a natural fighting ability about him that's unreal. I say Spence gives him trouble because of the size that goes along with his technique, but it will definitely be a great fight. Bud surpassing Ward really depends on what SOG plans to do next.

It was interesting because Ward wanted to move up to HW and snatch a belt there, but in an interview I heard he was inspired by the Crawford-Indongo unification bout and now looking to possibly unify LHW. I don't know about all that HW talk, but I think realistically speaking, if he can get Stevenson to fight him, beat him, then move up and fight the winner of the Cruiserweight Tournament (probably gonna be Usyk) and beat him too, I can't see Bud surpassing that - but I'm from where Andre Ward is from so I'm super biased lol.

Yeah, it's amazing how people underrate GGG's boxing ability. Both did some fantastic stuff in there. Most people weren't seeing the reasoning behind the missed shots from their exchanges. Those guys were nullifying each other's bombs like crazy, and I think people just recognized Canelo's defense more because it looked more flashier, even though GGG was technically doing the same - but in my opinion even more impressive since he was the one pressing the action too. GGG looked the better boxer in there overall, but he looked off of his usual game (credit to Canelo for that as well). People say Canelo will be better prepared for GGG, but I think it'll be quite the opposite - unless ODLH pushes the rematch until he turns 37 :)

I heard Byrd is on temporary leave of absence. She was supposed to be scoring a UFC event but Dana White said F that! lol

Yeah Arguello's tragic end was marred in controversy. His family believed foul play was going on which is sad to think about. Whatever the case maybe, he seemed like a real classy guy. His career was before I born, but all of the interviews and documentaries I see of Arguello paints the picture of an absolute gentleman. How great would it have been if he were still alive and working his corner? It brings me back to the post fight interview Roman had with Max after the Cuadras fight:

Kellerman: You tonight have won a belt in your fourth weight division, the first Nicaraguan fighter to do it. The great Alexis Arguello never did it. How do you feel tonight about that accomplishment?

Roman: He's my teacher. And I am his son. And I'm simply following his legacy...

Glad to know somebody like Roman Gonzalez came in to truly represent Nicaragua after Arguello, what with crazy ass Ricardo Mayorga and all haha.

About Rigo-Loma, I'm hoping the same too bro. These are COMPLETELY different fighters, but Donaire's fight night weight was around 140, and Amagasa had ridiculous height and reach advantages over him. I'm seriously going to try and see if I can fly out to watch that fight live. I'm supposed to be in NY around that time anyway...

Oh man... sorry I'm rambling on, but 2017 for boxing is amazing haha.
