The stakes were raised now, with Atlas out of battle, and Sprout being outnumbered. He managed to get a Leech Seed off, and the timer was ticking. "That will do, Dawkin, I'll finish this one off. No matter the stakes, Sprout can stand up to the fight. Dodge Onyx's attack. We don't have to lay a finger on Flabebe, she's already finished." Martin might be getting too confident. Flabebe was holding on by a sliver, and the next dose of healing will take care of her and get Sprout ready for the final round. All he needed was Sprout's Overgrow to kick in and land one hit to win the fight. Leech Seed will get him healing little by little until there was nothing left to take. Martin had a smile on his face, looking at Cathia.

Sprout looked at the massive rock heading towards him, with the Fairy getting ready to stop him. Instead, he headed to the water, ready to take a dip in the water if needed to get out of the way. Onix wouldn't be brave enough to go through that to get him. Despite the damage showing on his body, Sprout had more to give to this fight.

Flabébé flew to block Vine Whips, but no Vine Whips came. Instead, Sprout dashed and jumped into the water, making Onix have to break to avoid splashing into the wet substance which would have ensured defeat. Flabébé, weak and a little confused, finally let out a little cry as the last of her health was sapped by the Leech Seed binding her and she fell to the ground, fainted. ‘Flaaaa…’

‘Flabébé…!’ Cathia cried out a little, before biting together and returning the fairy to her Pokéball, before grabbing and throwing her one other remaining Pokémon into the mix. Marill bounced out, ready to play again with a little smile on its blue body, but it still retained substantial damage from before.

‘Onix, back away from the water, Rock Throw! Marill, be ready to Water Gun the Bulbasaur’s attacks, but otherwise, Tail Whip!’ Cathia commanded. And, as commanded, Onix pulled away from the water a bit, the huge shape making echoing noise as the rock snake curled its tail another boulder to throw. Tinier Marill dashed to stand at its side, and unless otherwise seeing Sprout do anything, would Tail Whip.

So, what would he do now?

Martin pumped an arm in victory, Flabebe finally went down. The Leech Seed was what he needed to even the fight and Onix stopped the attack. Finally just him and- Cathia called out Marill to reinforce her team and was doing things. Right, he only could use one Pokemon because Dawkin was also here. Since he was eliminated, then having two Pokemon shouldn't be against the rules, right? If he fought with one at a time, it was possible. Martin gave this a few seconds to think about before shaking his head. He can't doubt himself. He dedicated Nincada and Sprout to the fight. As long as he didn't use Goldeen, then it wasn't cheating. Marill was just called out, so Sprout could take it out before it was a problem, "Sprout, use Vine Whip on Marill. Don't give it a chance to get involved in this fight. Also, seeing as this is a two versus one, I doubt you are gonna argue me evening the field. Come on out Nincada, it's not over yet. I need you to take a hit for Sprout."

Sprout was enjoying the moment of paddling through the water, before being commanded to jump back out of it, ignoring the large Rock type coming at him. Instead, he was pulling out vines to hit the still freshly called out Marill. A flash of light brought Nincada back into the fight, looking around for a few seconds. He was clambering between Onix and Sprout, and planting into the ground to intercept the attack. Martin was using Nincada as a wall again. He really needed to buy some treats after this. Probably a healing spot as well. If Sprout could eliminate Marill quickly, and Nincada was still standing, then he could set the stage for Sprout to instantly take out Onix. At this point, a Potion might be needed to ensure a victory.

Ouch, sorry Froakie.

Still though, this was good! She felt somewhat bad for Froakie, but this battle was starting not to become so impossible to win. Conkeldurr's damage was starting to pile up. If Lure and Ralia could just stay alive a bit longer then this would be easy! She just had to make the right call here. Hector was giving him the order to use Chip Away and charge them. If she teleported he was probably going to attempt using a move like he had tried to earlier, which meant it would be somewhat hazardous to do so unless she could pull something off. Teleporting behind him probably wouldn't work so well like it had last time.

Hmm...Ralia couldn't take much more of a hit, either. She was tired and already suffered quite a bit of damage. lure, though, was still at full health and could maybe take a hit or so. Still, having them both make themselves a single target...

"Alright...Ralia, Teleport! Lure, maneuver out of the Conkeldurr's range! If he attacks Ralia, hit him with a gust!" Ralia gave a cry of approval as her eyes glowed with psychic energy. In a flash, she had teleported to where her clones were, and as soon as she had oriented herself after landing was already planning to fire another confusion at the Conkeldurr. Lure merely gave a slight cry of annoyance before flapping her wings as hard as she could. There was enough distance between them for her to dodge - she wouldn't let this Conkeldurr beat her.

She was the queen, and she wouldn't be bested by this over muscled fool. If once she successfully avoided it, she'd fire off another gust.

Amelia laughed as it seemed Larvesta was happy with the attention she was giving it. She saw the Ralts were moving around as normal now and was happy to see the little things were doing better now that those two bullies had left the area. As she continued to relax and dry off with Larvesta, Lorette came into the room and asked if she would be joining her on a trip back to the city since she needed to be there for any possible challengers. Considering she wanted to try and do the same thing, she figured it would be best. Besides, she might get lost in the forest too.
"I'm fine with doing that." She said, getting to her feet before moving over to the Ralts. Kneeling down to their height, she reached out and gave each of the little pokemon a pat on the head. "I must be leaving now. Thank you for the shelter. Maybe I'll come back some time in the future. Will you all be there to greet me if I do?"

Cathia blinked a bit in realization and slight panic as Nincada came out, but her expression went back to tense determination fairly quickly, coming to terms with the new circumstances.

‘Marill, Water Gun the Vine Whip! Stay alive!’ She commanded, and Marill did as commanded.

So, Nincada came out, and directed himself to take the rock that Onix threw. The huge rock came falling at Sprout, but Nincada charged in the way and bashed himself against it. There was a considerable impact, a slam sounding out across the tunnel, numerous cracks having formed in the rock as it was forced back. But, Nincada stood, taking the full brunt of the blow from the rock before forcing it back, and the rock hit the ground without recourse. The rock threatened to crush the bug, but Nincada’s brace of the ground kept it stable, and it got by. However, by now, Nincada had suffered serious damage, and would not be able to take another such boulder. However, he still stood.

Meanwhile, Marill blew water trying to hit the Vine Whip, but surprise, a whip’s kind of hard to hit. Not to mention, Sprout could just move the vines from a distance and avoid the water-blast. So, a stream of water was fired into the air, and Sprout’s vines curved around it seeking in and striking the water-Pokémon on the other end.

‘Mariiiiiill…!’ Marill shouted out as she was struck by the vine, the grass of the vine somehow draining it of its strength during the brief impact as the round creature was sent rolling back before stopping on its back in front of its trainer. Marill fainted.

‘Oooh…’ Cathia made a little upset sound as she lost her second to last Pokémon, and now only had Onix left, and she could but look at the two opponents and… ‘Um… Rock Throw?’ She said, seemingly out of other commands.

Onix glared at Nincada and Sprout before grabbing another large rock with its tail and lobbed it hard at Sprout. While its trainer looked kind of distraught and lost, Onix was yet still determined to battle and ready to attempt dodging a Vine Whip or whatever attack might come its way.

@Rune_Alchemist

Ralia teleported while Lure dodged away, Conkeldurr came to a stop, since his trainer had told him to stop if Teleport was used. Hector, meanwhile, looked around. He didn’t immediately see her, but while she was charging her Confusion…

‘THREE O’CLOCK, AMONG THE CLONES!’ Hector pointed in the direction of Ralia, somehow noticing. Conkeldurr spun, seeing where his gaze was pointed, and threw the slab of rock he had left so it flew spinning in her direction. … Now, by the power of chance, Ralia wouldn’t have time to properly get out of the way or teleport before the rock came crashing down. But she perhaps had time to do something else if she desired before the rock slammed into her location. Maybe. Otherwise the slab come spinning slamming into her and send her into the wall, which would become too much (of course) and mean she fainted.

Directly after throwing, not even bothering to look at the results of the throw, Conkeldurr took his own initiative and spun to dash at Lure. Before that, he took a Gust blowing into him, and he staggered a bit, before glaring forward at the bug and dashing again, intending to Chip Away, a move that wouldn’t be double Not-Effective. Reminding once again, by sheer level-difference, Conkeldurr’s faster than Lure, but she could attempt dodging by sheer maneuvering.

Poison drained on the now slab-less muscular Pokémon. He didn’t have much left. He had to aim to take out Lure quickly.

‘CONKELDUUUURR…!’ He shouted out, as he launched himself at Lure using his legs, springing to a dash waving both hands to catch up to the bee Pokémon. Now, what?

@Joshua Tamashii

She got curious stares (from under the caps) of the Raltses, but they looked happy enough to be petted, for whatever reason.

‘Raaaaaaaaaaaalts!’ She got in reply to her question from several of their number with different lengths of their cry, which sounded fairly positive in its meaning.

‘Alright, then. I’m counting on you, as always.’ Lorette said with a smile to the Raltses before extending a Pokéball and returning Larvesta to his Pokéball, immediately making the room a lot colder. ‘Okay, shall we?’ Lorette asked, directing outwards into the rain.

As said, Ledian used Safeguard to protect them from the rain, a white shimmering barrier showing around their bodies as the rain tried to strike them. It kind of felt like the rain was hitting them, but they didn’t become wet or cold. Like, an attack definitely would still hit, but the effects of the attack would not remain. Anyways. Moving on.

‘Fla!’ ‘Bé!’ ‘Bébé!’

Three Flabébés that still had accompanied the whole way swirled overhead, because they had agreed to guide Lorette home, and Amelia was tagging along. So, leaving the shrine, they had the shrine maiden Raltses waving a bit to them as they departed, and then walked back into the rainy forest.

So, there were still gates standing around, though none in particular was glowing to guide the way anywhere, they had already been there. Now it was considerably harder to find the way back, and one might understand why Lorette so commonly got lost in here, especially with the perpetual darkness created by the rainclouds overhead, only the lanterns to guide the way and they too became very similar very fast. But, there were Flabébés drifting around in the forest, and they were following these three that were happily drifting forth, so it’d be easy to reach someplace.

Now, it’s perfectly fine for Amelia to start up a conversation or something, try to talk to the Flabébés and such, or maybe she wants to remain in Silent Forest for any reason or depart in a different direction than south-east, but in case she doesn’t…!

The fight was almost done, despite the risk Martin was being forced to use. Marill was out of action, and the damage was not even worth mentioning. Nincada could have been doing better, but was still holding on as a tough wall. One more hit and he was done. Onix was also close to one more hit and done. Sprout was the force needed to push this to a victory. A victory could be done, even if Nincada had to go down. "Good job Nincada, one more time, stop that Rock Throw. Sprout, hit Onix with a Vine Whip. This fight ends once you make contact. I told you no one cracks Nincada's armor." Onix was dedicated to the attack, so his fate was sealed. The same was being said for Nincada, but it couldn't be helped. He had a potion ready, but seeing as Cathia never used one, neither would he. It almost felt like cheating to use one this far in now.

Nincada was hurt badly, struggling to stay standing. He moved forward, digging into the ground to stop the next rock. He was braced, but showed no emotion to even this. Sprout was behind him, vines extending outwards to go past Nincada and hit the massive Rock snake trying to get away from him. Martin looked back to Dawkin, giving a thumbs up. "We wouldn't have gotten this far without your help."

Dawkin Trustram

Dawkin reluctantly returned Atlas to his pokeball and was forced to watch as a bystander, unable to do anything. "Seeing as this is a two versus one..." Though Martin couldn't have meant it that way and Dawkin was aware of that, he couldn't help but feel a sting at his words. Taken out of the fight to leave his partner on his own. He clenched his teeth and watched Martin continue battling, feeling a hint of bitterness towards himself, though he kept his expression neutral.

It looked like with Nincada on the field Martin would win this. Dawkin returned Martin's thanks with a cheery grin of his own, fake as it was, "Aha, well I'm glad you could clean up my mess." Only a bit self-decrepitating. He would need to make his own to a Pokémon center right away, train Atlas and Wooper some more and find another Pokémon to add to his team. Still he wouldn't be reckless and try to catch the first thing he saw like he had with Wooper, that had been a special case. Once he made it into town he would try to get some information about the variety of local Pokémon and try to make a decision from there.

Nincada braced for the rock, and indeed it came. The rock slammed into the grounded bug, sending a small shock through Nincada and the sound echoed through the cave, and the thundering rock was stopped. However, beyond it, Nincada toppled over, having taken more damage than he could handle. Nincada fainted.

However, this gave Sprout his opening. The Vine Whip was sent surging for the Onix, and while the rock snake curled back in an attempt to avoid, there simply wasn’t enough space in the cave to escape lest she wished to risk running over her own trainer. The Onix stopped abruptly before that could happen, but was struck by Sprout’s whips. The huge snake let out a roar of pain, the grassy vines leaving rows of vegetation damaging the rock/ground type considerably more than a physical whip would normally have damaged such a tough creature, and Onix’s head fell to crash down in front of Cathia’s eyes.

Dawkin and Martin were victorious! Dawkin and Martin each gained 1423 P for winning!
Wooper grew to level 8!
Atlas grew to level 9!
Nincada grew to level 11!
Sprout grew to level 11!

‘O-Onix…’ She lamented, before sighing and raising a Pokéball to return the massive fainted creature back into her Pokéball. ‘D-don’t worry. You’ll be much more formidable when you’re made of steel.’

That said, she sighed again, before turning with a focused expression towards Martin and Dawkin. She advanced towards them, her expression twitching a little to a frown though she was clearly trying to maintain an aura of grace, despite having become quite the opposite during the actual battle. Then… she took a deep breath… and spoke.

‘… It doesn’t count. The rules of battle were completely lopsided and unclear. You were somehow playing by the rules of two-trainer double battle, while I was playing by single-trainer battle, and then you switched mid-battle. So, it clearly doesn’t count towards my requirement of never losing.’

She looked away, looking a bit ashamed, before she took forward her bag (that she was clearly carrying around) and put her hands into it, preparing to retrieve some things from it.

‘Er, that is. You know you won, but…’

And then all of a sudden the two trainers found numerous things thrust into their hands.

‘… Just…’

Martin was given 2000P!
Dawkin was given 2000P!

‘… don’t…’

Martin was given a Rare Candy!
Dawkin was given a Rare Candy!

‘… tell…’

Martin was given a Water Stone!
Dawkin was given a Moon Stone!

‘… anyone…’

Martin was given a King’s Rock!
Dawkin was given a Dragon Scale!

‘… Okay?’

She gave the both of them a slightest, embarrassed smirk, before turning and running at full speed for the exit. Didn’t seem like she wanted to continue conversing.

So, assuming they didn’t interrupt her or somehow prevent her from running, they’re left by themselves in Wet Caverns again.

Though, considering the state of their Pokémon, it’s likely that they’re probably headed for the nearest town. Which is straight forward, out the exit that Cathia just dashed for.

Martin held back the cheer of a victory, watching Cathia recall her Pokemon and doing the same for Sprout. She wasn't counting the fight as a loss for her, which just made Martin look forward to beating her, even if it is based on what she called a win. After receiving a staggering amount of items, that he was more in shock of seeing. How much did this girl carry on her at all times? Rare Candy and not one, but for rare items such as these? He gave a few last words for Cathia, while not following her out. She didn't have to answer him. "You did a great job, and I look forward to beating you next time. By whatever rules you make."

Assuming Cathia kept going, Martin looked back to Dawkin. "Cleaning up your mess? That's kind of funny. How many times have you cleaned up my mess now? Let's see here, the swarming buzz of insects. Couldn't have gotten out of there without that Repel. I bought two of those just in case it happens again. Pretty sure you helped me out more than that, but we can call it even from here. It's teamwork, and my Pokemon would have gone down fast if you weren't getting my back. Seeing as both of your Pokemon fainted from this fight, and I'm not exactly doing so well either. How about we both head to the next town? You can head your own way afterwords if you want. Doesn't make much sense to split up right now if we're going the same way."

Martin had a smile on his face, showing all that joy he was trying to hold back with Cathia as he talked to Dawkin. He had no idea what the items he was handed were used for, so he looked through his Pokedex. The King's Rock was for two things, Slowpoke and Poliwag. The Water Stone had a larger list of things. Guess he needed to go out and find one of these things. Finally walking out of the caves after what felt like days, Martin could finally see the sun again. His first train of thought was finding a Pokemon Center. The rest can wait a bit longer. Unfortunately, he had to find a way to cross the water first, which would take some time to find a boat to cross, as he was already trying to not get any more soaked in water at this point.

Action: Head to the Pokemon Center and heal up his Pokemon.

❄Erika Olson❄

Speaking of keeping warm, Erika felt her cheeks warm up as they became red, yet again, with Joshua's flattery. "Oh well... Cooldome has a dome around it that keeps it warm... but thank you!" Erika mumbled in response to her companion. Well at least Erika felt less guilty about taking those potions earlier.

Moving on, Erika calmed down a bit as their conversation went to more practical topics. "Oh, yea, we should head to the Frozen Cavern! Good suggestion! And yea, I want to add to my team, as well."

Onto the house, which Erika felt guilty about just walking inside, however, you couldn't really blame anyone for being too curious... could you? Besides, the invitation sign seemed to indicate this was expected. "Inviting Pokémon Trainers? I wonder why?" Erika pondered allowed as she stepped into the house. It was a small but humble dwelling, though oddly unoccupied... well except for the chair monolith. Approaching that oversized chair with an air of caution, Erika called out expectedly. "Um. Hello? We're Pokemon Trainers?" Erika glanced back to her companions with a puzzled look before interrogating further. "H-how long have you been sitting under that chair..?"

"R-ralia!" Damn it. Ralia too, then?

Before Ralia had a chance to reorient herself after the teleport, Hector already seemed to know where she had landed. This left her only with a few options, since Claire hadn't the time to react to it. The small pokemon had expected it, to some extent, but it was still a dangerous situation. Couldn't dodge with teleport, and if she took that thing to the face then she'd effectively be KO'ed. Maybe it was her own pride, but she wouldn't let herself be KO'ed so easily - she was the cutest, most fabulous, clever little girl in existence. So, what'd she do instead?

Instead of attacking Conkeldurr or dodging, she focused her psychic power on the stone, intent on changing its trajectory ever so slightly so that it wouldn't hit her. She didn't know if she could do it, but it was the only thing she could do at the moment. If it was successful at least, she'd launch another Confusion at the Conkeldurr immediately afterwards. She'd attempt to lift the spinning slab of rock upwards, hopefully letting it impact the wall or whatever was behind her, or otherwise miss its mark.

The clones themselves suddenly started to seemingly panic slightly, all of them fleeing and jumping out of the impact area.

Meanwhile, Lure was having difficulties of her own. The Conkeldurr was definitely feeling the effects of the poison and accumulated damage, but the level difference was still staggering. Even so, all she'd have to do now would be too simply use pro dodge skills and win. There was too close of a distance to really allow her to get off another gust so there was only one thing she could do with Lure.

"Lure! That big guy can't take much more. Flap those little wings as hard as you can and avoid it! We'll outlast him!"

Amelia smiled, happy to see that the Ralts were happy, before standing up and grabbing her bag from where she had set it down. Following Lorette out of the temple, she waved good-bye one last time before following the Gym Leader through and out of the woods with the assistance of the Flabébés. She didn't say much during the trip, mostly just watching their guides and their surroundings, keeping her senses alert for the presence of possible Ghost-Types. Should she sense any, she would request a detour.

If she didn't though, she would follow Lorette to the edge of the forest and bid farewell to her new Fairy Friends, giving each of them a small pet on the head, being extra gentle due to their incredibly small size. When they left and Lorette addressed her, Amelia was silent for a few seconds, mulling over her response for a minute or two before speaking.
"As much as I would like to test my strength against a gym, I don't think I'm ready yet. I'm going to press onwards and get more pokemon and become stronger before even attempting to challenge a gym. Maybe I'll come back and challenge you when the time comes. For now though, I think I should rest and warm up before heading out. I don't want to get sick." She said, hoping not to offend Lorette.

Dawkin Trustram

Martin secured his victory, much to their opponent's distress. perhaps the expected result once Nincada was brought out. There was the question of whether that was entirely within the rules but... Well it was over now wasn't it? However despite Cathia's insistence that it didn't count as a loss she was quick to heap bribes on them without bothering to see if they would accept them. Dawkin did of course, far be it from him to refuse gifts out of hand. And rather impressive gifts they were, a quick scan with his Pokedex revealed these weren't exactly common items. How had she gotten ahold of these and so easily as to give them away like that? However there was little time for questions as she was already running out of the caves. "I suppose we can call it even at that. We can certainly stick together until we make it to the next town." Dawkin said cordially, feeling somewhat relieved at Martin's insistence on acknowledging him. With both his Pokémon fainted it would certainly be wise to quickly heal up at the nearest Pokémon center before doing anything else. There was also a sense of achievement as they exited the cave to be greeted with warm sunlight. Further along they were congratulated for making their way through the caverns and greeted by quite a bit of water. While many people seemed to be using Quagsires, Wooper wasn't big enough or in good enough condition to do the same. Martin seemed to be looking for a boat or ferry of some sort to cross so Dawkin would help him with that. He didn't mind paying a small fee for a quick and painless trip if it came to it.

Action: Head to the Pokemon Center and heal up his Pokemon.

Joshua simply smiled widely at Erika’s reaction, before they headed on. Then soon enough… Yeah, they encountered the sign and the invitation. The two boys didn’t particularly have anything to say, so they went inside with her. There… yeah, there was the chair. Ewan had no particular expression while Joshua was as perplexed as her. So, when Erika went forth and addressed the chair…

‘Argh!’ A noise was heard as the whole chair jumped a bit. ‘You noticed me hiding under the chair!? Grrh… You’re sharper than you look!’ Not responding to her question of when he started hiding there, suddenly the whole huge chair was sent flying, along with a whole pile of empty water bottles and empty cans… and a young man jumped up from underneath onto the chair left in its wake, standing over the three young trainers. A brown-haired young man with red-rimmed glasses looking down at them with a confident smirk. It was an older version of the exhilarated kid in the framed photographs.

‘Ta-ha, did I surprise you? I am the mighty Trail Master!’ He announces, proudly.

‘Yes! The one and only Trail Master! The grandson of the famous Trick Master! … That nobody on Isson has ever heard about… … So, he went silent for a bit, then shook his head and pointed at them. ‘YOU THREE! So, you’re here to accept my trial, are you not!? Well, be happy, for my trails accept YOU! The task is simple! Use your Pokémon to reach the end of my trial, and you will be rewarded! This will be unlike any trainer battle, for this is a challenging TRIAL! Seek to overcome it only if you’re confident in your abilities! The only rule is no teleportation or digging around the trial, you need to actually get through the room! So, I’ll see you on the other side, if you win! Tahahaha…!’

And then he pulled an Escape Rope out of nowhere, and it pulled him through nowhere and he was suddenly gone.

Behind him… the white stone wall behind him swung open, because it was apparently a huge double-door, showing the dark entrance into a very finely carved-out cavern, inviting inwards, and it was very dark. In the distance, inside the cave… was the sound of… blowing wind?

The challenge had been made. Would Erika press on? Or perhaps she wanted to consult her companions? Joshua was just looking a bit perplexed right now while Ewan was standing silent for the time being. If she was quiet for long enough one of them would speak, of course, but until then.

What’s Erika’s reaction?

@Rune_Alchemist

Now, would the telekinetic power of a Confusion be able to shift the incoming spinning slab of concrete that was coming her way?

… The answer was no, there’s not enough force in Confusion to accomplish that.

However, what it DID, was slightly upset the balance of the spin. Instead of coming at her straight and spinning vertically, the spin lifted so it spun at her more as the side of a wheel. After that, there was too little time to do anything else. The slab of concrete came spinning down at her…

And impacted slightly in front of her instead of right at her because of the upset to the spin. It’d then fall down with excess power to probably flatten her, normally, but because it was in full spin, it maintained its momentum despite having hit the floor. Parts of the slab carved through the floor right in front of her which had recoiled just enough force for it to keep itself airborne just long enough to stay afloat with enough momentum forward to have it sail straight over Ralia, with the assumption that she was crouching. To an onlooker, it probably looked like the rock rolled right over Ralia yet somehow she was still standing when it came out on the other side. The spinning rock had spun so it hit the floor right in front of her and right behind her, missing by a hair’s width. Ralia’s totally free to think precisely whatever she wanted about this.

The rock kept going and smashed a huge hole in the wall, sending cracks all over the sides of that wall, debris falling additionally from the hole in the ceiling and they now had a new, huge, deformed window out into open air that parts of wall were now falling down from. The still intact walls on that side gave an audible groan. Er.

Meanwhile, Lure started dodging Conkeldurrs attacks. The comparatively massive muscle-creature swung his arms, but Lure dodged bit by bit, yet Conkeldurr was experienced and intent to catch her. With each miss, Lure would feel the air of power as each swipe after her was made. If she let up for even a moment, Conkeldurr would easily have smashed her. She may have to reevaluate those “pro dodge skills”, every single dodge felt hair-fine and like it could have easily been the end. And the swipes just kept coming…!

Then, she may have made a slight mistake in the last dodge, for the next swipe of the arm seemed to be going right into the place where Lure had planned to dodge to. Regardless of what she desired, it seemed like she was going to be hit by a yet still very powerful Chip Away that still would have meant the end to a Combee if it hit-

-When Conkeldurr suddenly jerked to, messing up the swing and letting Lure dodge under it, for Conkeldurr had just been hit in the side of his face by the surviving Ralia’s Confusion. The mountain of muscle staggered away a bit before glaring in anger and damage at Ralia, still standing right where he left her, and Lure probably flying surviving away from him.

‘Conkel…!’ He took a step to hunt them down again… when he staggered forward, blinking a little in surprise trying to maintain balance. Hector was watching curiously, and a smile spread on his lips.

‘Durr…?’ Conkeldurr asked, raising his head, and looking forward, his eyes a bit unfocused as he tried to look at the enemies past his big red nose… … … … …

‘… Duuuuuuuuuuurr…’Before he slowly, steadily, began to accelerate backwards, falling off his comparatively tiny feet as the creature fell back, slamming its back against the floor behind it. The poison and the constant attacks had finally become too much. Conkeldurr fainted.

Claire was victorious! Claire gained 2500 P for winning!
Ralia grew to level 12! Ralia learned Disarming Voice!
Ritz grew to level 12!
Del grew to level 10!
Lure grew to level 10!

‘Haha, HAHAHAHA…!’ Hector laughs out loud, and Claire would hear from around her considerable applause from the inhabitants of the gym, Pokémon as well as humans, and numerous wistles and cheers from some more enthusiastic individuals. Not really super-star level applause, but they’re clearly appreciating the effort she managed to put in. Anise sighed out in relief, on the side, and nodded to her. Like, acknowledging, well done.

‘You’re good. You got guts. You got enthusiastic Pokémon. And above all, you’ve got the spirit to win.’ He grins widely, before advancing forward towards Claire with glee. ‘YOU GOT MY RESPECT! HERE IT IS; THE CHALLENGE BADGE OF REDCOAST GYM! YOU’VE EARNED IT!’ So he declares, and if he’s at all allowed to he’ll grab her hand and clasp the badge into her palm.

The badge is depicting a dot of impact which has fire blasting out in all direction clearly meant to look like something struck the middle and everything exploded. It’s in the dark-brown/dark-red color of fighting. … Could honestly have been mistaken for a fire-type badge, but eh.

‘Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaand THIS!’

Claire obtained TM98, Power-Up Punch!

‘Power-Up Punch! Power yourself up, AND hit the enemy for damage! Can’t consider a better combo!’ Hector makes a fist lifted upwards to show his enthusiasm.

‘Though, don’t worry about it if you lose your badge. The match was tracked by the Pokédex you got there, right? Meaning your victory has already been registered into the Pokémon League database! That’s to make sure silly things like stealing badges doesn’t work! Something should have been marked into your Trainer Card, too! Feel free to have a look!’ He grins at her. If she looks, then Claire will see that the image of the Challenge Badge has been registered in the row for Minor League badges, in slot four of nine.

Sooooooooooooo, they had left the floor of the arena completely in shambles and danger of walking on sharp rocks for anyone barefoot, made a Lucario-shaped hole in the back wall, made a huge hole through ANOTHER wall where the giant slab had flown through, and they had collapsed part of the ceiling. And that was ONE battle. … Yupp, this place did not seem like it would need less maintenance anytime soon.

Now, then. Claire and co’s reactions.

… … … … …

Oh?

Del may feel his consciousness returning…

Amelia did sense a couple of ghosts on the way, and Lorette was kind of curious as to why these detours were to be taken so she tagged along. But, finding that the ghosts were all Drifloons, they could then head back on track. Anyways. Moving on.

‘Fla~!’ ‘Bé~!’ ‘Bé~!’ The three little fairies happily nuzzled with Amelia’s hand, but were otherwise not really intending on leaving their forest, so with that intention, they’d wave to her and be on their way.

Lorette listened to Amelia’s words about not feeling ready to challenge her, and Lorette smiled and gave her a nod. While not offended, she did look a little disappointed.

‘Alright. Whenever you feel ready, then. I’ll be waiting.’ She nodded to her, and then Lorette intended on heading back to Highhill Town.

Now, Amelia could go with her and be guarded from the rain by Ledian’s Safeguard to Highhill Town…

Connected areas:
Route 1. To the south, is the common route of first journeys. Green and straight.
Route 3. To the north, the route to Rainrock or the Silent Shrine. A wet woodland.
Route 14. To the east, the lake known as the Dragon Lake, potentially for crossing.

Or maybe she stays here on Route 3 or just takes a round-trip to buy another umbrella for 50P.

Connected areas:
Rainrock City. Across the route, north.
Route 4. Head east just before Rainrock.
Silent Shrine. Head west just before Highhill, through the forest.
Highhill Town. Just south.
<technically, you could reach Silent Forest by just jumping off west, and Dragon Lake by just jumping off right, but those aren’t listed as proper “connected areas”>

Or maybe she goes somewhere else, which is entirely fine.

At Martin’s words, Cathia briefly slowed down and stopped by the opening. She turned her head back and analyzed him absently, her calm demeanour regained, her look acknowledging that she had heard him and perhaps considering if she should reply while looking at him with slight interest. Deciding against it, she turned and dashed out again to continue her own journey.

Heading down to find the Pokémon Center, they’d find the people pretty understanding that they’d need to head there and wouldn’t have any trouble being pointed towards it and get a boat to row to it with, free of charge. And so, as they arrive at the indent in a taller building that currently served as a Pokémon Center… Cathia could be seen dashing out of it and leaving in another direction. Yeah, she needed to stop by there, too. She just made sure to have gotten there first so she could then be on her way before she ran into them again.

In any case. They could easily head in and get their Pokémon healed.

But, yes. Now they were in Lakewatch Town. What’s next?

Connected areas:
Wet Caverns. Water-filled caverns that are located to the east. There’s a small hill to climb to get to the entrance.
Route 5. The main exit of Lakewatch, leading to a grassy incline connecting mountains, forests and plains.
Route 14. The waters of Dragon Lake are also known as Route 14. It connects Lakewatch Town, Highhill Town and Stillwood Village.

Amelia smiled, thankful for Lorette's understanding and followed the girl and her Ledian back to Highhill Town before saying her farewells and parting ways. She made her way to the towns market and quickly bought herself another umbrella and nine more pokeballs, as she only had one left and she didn't know now many she would need further down the line. She considered buying some potions but she decided she had spent enough for the moment and would come back for them later.

With her current shopping done, she headed for the pokemon center and got her partner's taken care of before letting them all out of their pokeballs and letting them stay near her as she moved over to the map of the region all pokemon centers usually had. She thought back on what Laurinda had told her back in the Wilted Woods, that Route 16 and the Old Tombs would be good places to go for Ghost-Type pokemon. She was able to find the Old Tombs, which were in the south east part of the region and looked like they would be several days away. She couldn't find Route 16 though, since none of the routes were marks and there were some many, she didn't know a way to narrow it down. For now though, she had a destination in mind, but she wanted her partners to be a bit stronger before heading towards it.

Returning them to their pokeballs, she set out to Route 3 again, this time with the protection of her umbrella, and let about looking for trainers. She felt guilty about all the wild pokemon she had knocked out before arriving in Highhill for the sake of training, so she wanted to battle trainers this time, that way the pokemon would get treated after the battle at least.

~Claire Blackwood~

@PlatinumSkink

The rock came spinning, intent on knocking her out with a full force blow. It seemed though, her luck was going to hold out. The spin of the slab was upset just enough, just enough to throw its vertical spin off, angling it to the side and She braced herself for impact. The heavy stone slab slammed into the ground in front of her, the small change in trajectory enough to keep it from hitting her directly. The momentum of the heavy slab carved right through the floor, swinging around and launching itself into the air again with enough momentum to send it sailing over her, with just enough room for her to duck and avoid it. Ralia spun on a single foot, leaning over as the slab sailed straight over her.

"Rrrral~" She laughed happily. When the slabs rampage was done and the dust had settled, the Ralts fixed her gaze back on Coneldurr.

The clones had lost whatever formation they had and were scattered around, two who had fled in the same direction were hugging each other, apparently happy they had survived. Another one was playing dead. A third seemed to be waving a white flag of surrender. Of course, Claire was too caught up in trying to keep Lure alive to notice.

To say she was panicking a bit, was an understatement.

Lure dodged them like a pro, buzzing in annoyance each time Conkeldurr's massive arms just barely missed her. It was easy enough for a smaller pokemon to dodge a larger one. Like a human trying to swat a fly. Doable, but not the easiest thing to do. The muscled pokemon was trained, too - and there was only so much Lure could do to dodge. One mistake, and she'd be a squashed little bug. One false move and she'd be...

well, a dead little bug, that's what.

"Lure-!"

The bee made a tiny err in judgement, and the incoming attack was aimed right for where she was dodging to.

"C-combee!" The combee cried out in a slightly annoyed fashion, recoiling as if to say 'Not in the faces!'

But the blow never came.

"B-bee?"

"E-eh?" Claire and Lure questioned in unison as the Conkeldurr jerked, his swing messing up completely, allowed Lure to easily dodge it.

The muscled pokemon staggered, glaring towards Ralia in anger as she had survived the hit and attempted to take another step towards them. He merely stumbled again, trying to raise his head and look forwards and keep going, but even as big as he was he couldn't stand, and fell backwards, slamming into the floor. Claire simply watched in stunned silence for a moment, taking a few seconds to process what had happened.

Okay Claire. Play it cool. You're cool. You won. play it cool. You can do that. play it cool.

"Wheee~!" Attempt at playing cool failed. A huge grin spread across Claire's face as the large pokemon fainted, unable to contain her excitement. She in fact, could not contain so much excitement nor keep it to herself. In a display of joyous victory, she wrapped Anise in an extremely tight hug and caught up in the moment - planted a kiss right on her cheek. "We did it! Bwahahaha!" She jumped, still hugging Anise before releasing her.
"I owe you and your pokemon big time! Dinner's on me or somthin', ahaha!"

In her own display of victory, Ralia and her clones began crowded around the fainted Conkeldurr, poking the pokemon hesitantly as if it'd suddenly pop back up and resume the battle. When it didn't, the clones let out a cry of victory and began climbing over the fainted pokemon. The one with the white flag placed it right on the Conkeldurr's head after scribbling a green little symbol of victory on it. They proceeded to climb on each other, posing for victory before finally disappearing. The real Ralia jumped off the fainted Conkeldurr, right into Claire's arms.

"Eee, you guys did so great!" She laughed, hugging the pokemon, twirling happily in excitement. Lure simply buzzed in impatience. "Not even you're sour mood can get me down, Lure."

"Bee." The bee bumped Claire on the side of the head.

"Not gonna work ya little bug! Mood is totally, un-ruinable!" Claire stuck her tongue out playfully at Lure who merely rolled its six eyes, before narrowing its eyes at Ralia who merely laughed tiredly and snuggled against Claire.

"C-combee!" Ralia waved dismissively, earning a disgruntled huff from the Combee who remained silent as Hector started congratulating her. The gym leader grabbed her hand, giving her the badge, pressing it into her hand, and handing her a TM. Power up punch! She knew the move well - it was a staple of fighting type pokemon pretty much everywhere in her opinion. She'd definitely save that for later.

"Ahaha, don't worry. I'm not gonna loose this!" She laughed, taking a long good look at the badge. Huhm, maybe she should get a nice case to display them in after a bit of a break. Before she could comment further though, the sound of a pokemon evolving caught her ears. Claire swiveled her head towards Del. A crack of light appeared in the Kakuna's shell, as another pokemon emerged.

"E-eh?"

....

Ahh...it was a good run. But now the sweet embrace of death was calling. He could feel himself slipping into unconsciousness, the sounds of his allies still fighting. Of course, being the weak little bug he was he wasn't meant for fighting something like a Conkelduur. He could only hope his sacrificed was not in vein.

"K-ka-kuna?"

Wait a minute.

He suddenly felt very cramped in this shell, and he could feel consciousness returning. H-had some miracle happened? Had he been saved from the sweet embrace of death? Had his trainer actually managed to pull off a win or something? Before he could question it further, he found himself breaking free from the shell, insect wings first as they buzzed, pulling him out of hits protective embrace.

"B-beedrill?"

"Ah...D-del! You evolved!" Claire's voice was the first thing he heard upon evolving. The redhead dashed over, grinning brightly. "Aha, All of you did so great, especially you, Del." She reached towards the Beedrill, patting the top of its head, earning a small pleased buzz from him. Well, maybe he could get used to this. Just as long as he didn't have to fighting anything that seriously overpowered again. "Ah...wait a minute." She walked over to where Ritz had fainted, taking out his pokeball and returning him to it. "Heh, I'll get you something nice later." she turned back to hector, still grinning widely.

"Whew, that was a good workout." She giggled, walking over to where she had tossed her jacket and picking it back up, putting it back on as she placed the badge inside of her bag. "Ah man, been that stressed since I actually battled my dad seriously." She laughed again, petting Ralia on top of her head. "I'd stick around and revel in my glorious victory more, but I have a date with a friend at the contest practice hall." Whew, it was getting pretty late in the day though, wasn't it? Hey, maybe she could introduce Anise and Yvonne and have a threesome or something!

...snrk, okay that sounded wrong. Bad brain, out of the gutter.

"Hey hey, Anise!" She returned her pokemon to their pokeballs and turned to Anise. "Hey hey, call me later alright? I seriously owe you big time for lending me some pokemon, but I gotta go now or Yvonne's gonna probably yell at me or somethin', heh."

Actions:
Leave the gym, head towards the pokemon center and then meet up with Yvonne.

Lucian Vazquez

Lucian did not move for several moments as he considered his situation, he hadn't anticipated a swarm of Carvanha attacking his boat. With as much strength as he could muster, Lucian violently shook the fish on an attempt to remove it from the oar before tentatively grasping houndour's pokeball and releasing him into the canoe "Growl at them, bark, bite, just do whatever you can do get them away! Don't fall in either" Lucian commanded to the dog pokemon as began batting at the swarm with an oar, keeping his eyes peeled in case he landed a particularly strong hit on one of the Carvanha. Perhaps he could get out of this mess with a new ally in hand?

Martin Price

It was a trip taking a boat all the way across the river and going through the flooded town of Lakewatch Town. Martin was a bit distracted looking for a Pokemon center, but was now able to take a look around at the town. That fight went on for a while, and it reminded him that his training is never over. Winning a fight by a hair is a great feeling, but he could do better. There's a Gym here, and if Cathia nearly took him down, then he's not quite ready to take it on. Goldeen was still missing out on some fights, and he was only as strong as the weakest teammate. That can wait, he really just wanted to check this place out first.

Martin looked over at Dawkin to give a quick summary of what he was planning on doing here. It was a nice thing to tell him. "Hey, I'm gonna take a stroll through the town and see if I can't find something interesting around here. Probably gonna end up training after that. Still, that might take a while either way. Feel free to call me if you need something. Oh, and great job on that fight." With that said, Martin turned to leave the Pokemon Center. Assuming Dawkin didn't stop Martin from leaving, or tell him to stop.

Out of the building, Martin called out Nincada from his Pokeball. With a flash of red light, Nincada was in the open. "Hey Nincada, got you some treats. Never got a chance to reward you for earlier. Sorry to let you get hit so often, but you did great back there." He held out a small handful of food. Nincada looked blankly at Martin, just standing there. "Right, or later. No big deal to me." With his hands back in his pocket, he walked through the town, with Nincada following him. He was off in his own world as he took a wrong turn, going down an alley way. Not like anything can go wrong, right?

Action: Go down the back alleys.

❄Erika Olson❄

Erika, truthfully, was still surprised by the sudden emergence of the trial master quickly falling silent as the man began his excited ramblings. Apparently Erika and her companions were signed up for a trial, even though technically they could leave. At least it sounded interesting enough and maybe it might be fun! A good chance to bond with her Pokemon, yes!

Before Erika could muster through her baffled state, the Trial Master went and performed probably the greatest mystery of vanishing after just pulling a rope! How did that work? ... It was unimportant as Erika glanced back to her companions, Joshua and Ewan. "Well, ok... I didn't expect that." She offered still sounding a bit lost, but with her gaze returning to the cave opening, she felt more compelled to at least try it. What was the worst that could happen?

"I'm... going to try it. I-I don't want to be someone who turns down a challenge!" Erika pronounced, sounding a tad unsure but with a clench of her fist and a determined nod, she marched right into the cave to see just what this challenge was all about.
