EPISODE 9: MAGNETIC NIGHTMARE

'Hm... Polaris, Polarity Man... Likely a link there. Partners? Brothers? Lovers? All three? Must investigate further.' The faceless conspiracy theorist thought to himself as Green Lantern carried them all from Metropolis to Chicago, save for Polarity Man who took his mecha. 'Yes, of course. He's separated from the group, making it easier for his partner/brother/lover to take us all out in one swoop. You really are an ethereal bastard, Trainor. Suppose I shall meet my end once we get to Chicago. Shit.' And with those thoughts, Question closed his eyes and awaited their arrival and his demise.

By the time they got to their destination and Green Lantern began to give out orders, Question concluded that he was, in fact, wrong, and that he and the others would live. 'Doesn't mean I don't need to continue keeping an eye on Lieutenant Trainor. Probably in league with the Illuminati. Must investigate further.' He was cut out of his thoughts as Green Lantern explained that he was going to rescue the remaining scientists and guards alongside Apollex (@ineffable). He did a quick scan of the token female.

'Powers: healing, unsure if only applies to allies or both herself and allies. Able to stop time long enough to heal her partners, at the cost of part of herself. Judging by eyes, still optimistic, still naive, still good and pure. Unlikely to turn evil, but still need contingency plan in case she does. Will think of one later.' Finishing his mental analysis of his teammate, he turned to her. "Come. Civilians to be saved." Without another word, he rushed into the building, quickly checking over his shoulder to ensure she was following.

Episode 6 - The Warden - ft Vibe and the Bulleteer

This had been one hell of a first week for Warden. First a failed mission, then turned into a giant tentacle monster for the pleasure of Extant, then finally frozen in a freezer by another dude who just fucking showed up while he was hanging out in the tower. Well, at least the freezing didn't last too long he thought, re-adjusting to his new surroundings as he streched his vines - definitely not fully flexible. The two heroes with him mentioned a movie he had never heard of and an actor about whom he was only vaguely aware, catching his attention for the first time. His attention was then quicky re-caught by what appeared to be snot falling on him, and it then apparently forming into one eyed monsters.

The Warden took a moment to contemplate if he was heavily intoxicated.

Regardless, fighting them seemed to be the only option The Bulleteer was considering. The Warden considered this to be the likely end to this encounter, but was willing to hang back and assume a defensive pose for now, waiting for them to do something.

The snot like enemies lunged at the heroes and Bulleteer took to the sky for a few moments before shooting through one of the monster's mid-sections. The hole he'd produced quickly healed back through and the creature turned around to face the damp defender of the downtrodden. Vibe avoided getting touched by the slimey creatures like a little girl and used his powers to blast the one approaching him back and away. The thing just kept reforming. Even when blasted to nothing but an eye.

Seeing this, The Warden tried a new tactic, whipping his spiked vine straight into the eye of one of the slime monsters.

EPISODE VII

The morning exercise had been little more than pure boredom for Lara. Ted claimed there were things to gain from running other than muscle mass. Things like balance and patience and other words she thought belonged in fortune cookies.
Breakfast, however, there was a real mean challenge, and the phase “Could I maybe get a slice of bacon on the side?” got no response.

Now Lara was staring into the twisted mouth of something from a nightmare.
Wau, high school must have been tough for this guy, Lara thought looking at Parasite. With slight nausea, she turned to her team and cleared her throat. “Alright, guys, let’s start by… SURPRISE SUCKER-PUNCH!” she yelled out and blasted away with her laser vision, hitting floors, walls, ceiling and just about anything in front except her opponents.

All of those spread out instantly and approached with both calmness and haste, while Lara turned her head up and down, left and right in hopes of getting lucky.

In an adrenaline pumping second, she almost looked to her team for guidance, before she managed to turn off the laser shortly thereafter. “Ideas, anyone?” Lara asked and had she known her voice would be shaking, she would have kept her mouth closed.

Rookie, for his part, just stood there in muted silence as the young half-alien unleashed a devastating torrent of laser fire every which way (including, briefly his own, having been the closest to her what with being her sparring partner until a minute ago) and hit... absolutely nothing.

Perhaps he was starting to go numb to the insane turns his life had taken these past weeks, perhaps all this training to get him used to the rigours of superheroing was starting to acclimate him to things like this... or perhaps all those super-powered fists to the head he'd taken recently had broken something important. Whatever the cause, it wasn't fear, excitement or even anger that showed on the young man's face at that moment; but a comically blank and profoundly tired expression.

"...Really?"

In retrospect, he probably should've been paying more attention to the giant, zombie-looking robot lumbering towards him reciting old-timey nursery rhymes, buuuuut the Grundy-bot saw to that anyway. Manually. For not even a second after the word had left Duncan's mouth, did the damned thing snatch him up by the ankles and begin whipping him into the hard floor like some kind of demented children's toy, digging divots into the concrete tiles and sending dust and debris flying every which way.

"Christened on a Tuesday... Married on a Wednesday!" It half-sang, half-screamed as it finally slammed the lad directly into the floor and delivered a thunderous haymaker that dug him even further into it for posterity's sake "Took ill on a Thursday! Grew worse on Friday!"

Simulated saliva foaming freely off it's simulated jaw, the machine then abruptly began stomping on the Canadian boy like a tantruming toddler, shaking the whole room as he did so.

"DIED ON A SATURDAY! BURIED ON SUNDAY!"

"OH, WOULD YOU JUST SHUT THE FUCK UP ALREADY!?" Came Duncan's bellowing reply as, suddenly, a fist shot forth from the crater and intercepted the robot's foot, knocking the machine back and sending it tumbling backwards haphazardly away from the hole and the now very, very angry man inside.

Very clearly, absolutely one-hundred percent done with this shit, the Rookie shot upright to a sitting position before climbing to his feet and storming over to the bot that had offended him so, eyes glinting with seething anger and a vein bulging dangerously in his temple as he snatched a hold of the still-prone Grundy-bot's leg.

"FUCK YOU. FUCK YOUR RHYMES..." The t-shirt-clad Canuck roared as his grip tightened on the holographic appendage and he turned towards the Pseudo-Parasite with a near-deranged gleam in his eyes, before chucking the his opponent straight into it with a titanic swing "...AND FUCK! YOUR UGLY! FACE!"

Standing there, sucking in as much oxygen as he could and trying to calm himself as he stared down the two droids that were now awkwardly piled on top of eachother and trying to get back on their feet, Duncan's head slowly turned towards the resident half-alien as he let out a long exhale. Finally getting his anger (somewhat) in check.

"Supergirl..." He began with a tone and expression that was trying to be friendly, but came out just a teensy bit menacing "Would ya mind firing more lasers at them, please?"

“Two laser beams coming right up, good sir.” Lara blinked at Rookie and pointed that same look at Parasite and Grundy. She didn’t care that they were robots, to her they were Parasite and Grundy and needed to be brought down. With all the strength of will, she could muster, Lara concentrated, yet all she could charge up were a pair of sparkly eyes.
Shit, not now! she thought, desperate to prove herself, while two powerhouses were getting back up.

Any second now retaliation would come her way. Grundy was almost already at an upright position.

That fact alone was enough to get the fire stared, at least on the inside of Lara. It burned to get out and before she intentionally let it, two concentrated beams fired. At first, they drew a flaming canyon in the floor, until she directed the devastating ray of destruction forward.

Parasite lit up like a Christmas tree, as he was hit and then proceeded to hurl backwards, illumination everything in a purple light.
Grundy, however, just stood there, tall and broad, when the punishment blasted away at his face. “Solomon Grundy. Born on a – Rahhhouuuuu!!!” The crude leather-like surface, that was his face, started dissolving and changing into a chilling skull-like appearance.

“What day was that? Didn’t catch the last part!” Lara cheered, and watched the giant fall backwards and shake the ground as he landed. Feeling a bit out of juice, she wobbled for a second and then felt an enormous force blow her across the room in a flash of light.

The shot originated from Parasite, who seemed more intimidating than ever.

“He absorbs energy, including your laser vision. Had that been the real Parasite, his blast would have been twice the intensity,” Ted explained from the sideline.

“Not helping,” Lara mumbled through her teeth. Almost on instinct she flew sideways and saw a purple hand burry itself into the wall where her head had been a second ago. Now in the air, she kept the momentum and flew over to the side of Rookie, who had proven without a doubt, he could take a punch. A real punch.

One minute they were on earth and the next they were in earth adjacent.

"The league files don't do this place justice." Gypsy said as she took in the sights around her. Flowers and streetsigns with faces, the sun high up in the sky with a very noticeable grin, and building that felt like they swayed and danced. "Pun intended" she added still full of wonder.

The young hero has heard of this place, the fifth dimension, home to many of the known oddities that has appeared over the course of history. One of the biggest oddities Mister Mxyzptlk was among Superman's constant foes. Their chaotic personality and reality breaking abilities made them formidabel enemies, and in Toon Girl's case a very formidable ally.

Gypsy's curiosity aside she couldn't help but not notice the younger girl's change in demeanor. Normally Toon Girl was very animated much like how this world appeared, but the person taht stood behind her and Superman was acting more like a teen drama protoganist rather than a saturday morning cartoon character, she didn't like it one bit. Her actions reminded her too much of her earlier street working days, vulnerable, cornered, hurt.

The mere mention of the one eyed slime drones creatures raining from the sky made Gypsy's skin tingle. They looked like old cartoon monsters whe would watch back when she was much younger. Even as adult she kind of hated those kinds of creatures. She liked Kang and Kodos from the Simpsons, but the snot monsters looked nothing like them. The raining snot monsters were far too real and far too chaotic. They reeked of something "wrong".

The Intimadated Blue Beetle

Episode 9

'For here am I sitting in a green bubble, far above the world...'

Ted sung in his head to pass the time as GL shuttled the team over to an emergency call at STAR labs. It would be cool to see all of the technological marvels on display in the facility, even if Ted wouldn't be able to get an up close look at them. He'd heard there was some cool stuff being worked on there such as some pretty smart AIs, top of the line cloning and he'd even heard rumours of a magical artifact stockpile housed inside.

The Blue Beetle was snapped out of his technological fantasizing by being placed on the ground. Getting to the lab, Green Lantern wasted no time dividing the team in two. Ted had expected to be put on civilian duty due to the somewhat metal based nature of his costume but it was much to late to argue as GL got knocked clean through a wall.

"Welp, lets get to it Polaroid." Ted said to PM as he quickly tried to think of some way to attack. He could blind Polaris if he could get close enough but given the situation Ted guessed that he would need to wait for an opportunity to arise before he could even try that. Giving the area a quick glance Ted spotted a large stone chunk of rubble leaning against one of the still mostly intact walls. An idea popped into Ted's head as he quickly ran over and hid behind the slab. To any outsiders it would simply look like Ted ran off and hid but that couldn't be farther from the case.

In an instant Ted began to work on his plan of attack. Hopefully Polaris would be stalled for a moment and not pay him any mind while he prepared. Pushing a button on his suit, one of his BUG's modular attachments sprung to life in the form of four robotic legs. Two of the legs quickly positioned themselves on the slab and the other two stuck into the ground to take the weight. With quick but decent accuracy Ted lined the rubble up with where Polaris had been and proceeded to unholster his airgun and blast the rubble with it at full force, sending the rock flying in a somewhat controlled hurtle.

The Fabulous Mr. Clutch

Episode 8: Trident of Atlantis

Life with the justice league moved rather fast and it seemed like the last mission had just finished that another had begun. He was still glad to help his teammates when they needed him in the battle against Extant. Despite him being a metahuman with a very basic power, Jim was not going to be scared of more powerful foes.

This latest mission had them going below the waves of the Atlantic ocean and into the deep sea on a journey to the fabled city of Atlantis or whatever was left of it after the war between the underwater kingdom and the United States. He had never seen the city in person and was quite excited to see what it was like. Jim was also happy to show off his piloting skills in a vehicle that could both fly and travel underwater, it reminded him of that Tom & Jerry movie from years ago.

When his eyes finally saw the ruins of the once great city, he felt a creepy feeling looking at the wreckage created from the war. Whether he felt uneasy or not, he still had a mission to do. Besides there would probably tons of Atlantean items that Lex Corp could turn into profitable products and he was sure that this mystical trident would make a very marketable toy replica for the kids to play with. When he parked the ship he took out his notebook and started writing down notes. This mission would make a great episode for Mr. Clutch and Friends.

Unlike one of his teammates Jim was glad that Captain Marvel was the leader, at least it wouldn't be one of the brooders. He checked to make sure he had everything he needed and was now prepared for this strange underwater world.

"It's a good thing none of us watched Jaws right before joining this mission" he said to them as he checked his ray gun to make sure it was functioning properly, good thing it was water proof.

"Ladies and gentlemen, let's go treasure hunting."

Polarity Man - Episode 9: Magnetic Nightmare

"Patroller, compile report and send." These words would be the only ones spoken by Polarity Man as they flew to the mission site. The pace at which the team flew was relaxing to the lieutenant who was accustomed to emergency response speeds. Even the glare from his fellow faceless hero, The Question, couldn't dampen this relaxing mood. After all, the earlier allegations directed at Lawrence were unreasonable and easily dismissed. No one could possibly side with Question if it came down to it, he thought.

Except for the second man to question him, the Blue Beetle. "Huh. Polaroid. Almost died out before André 3000's hit single drew attention to the brand again. Miracle it survived from its doom." the lieutenant would mutter before following Lantern and Beetle in their attack against Doctor Polaris. However, their target would get the advantage and blindside the Green Lantern, prompting Polarity Man to return fire with his own electro-beam blast.

While the Blue Beetle wisefully avoided the initial attack, Polarity Man decided to hold his ground as he could take a head-on assault. Hopefully, this would give the others enough time to enact whatever action they needed to do as the lieutenant knew the obvious weakness of his mech suit against a master of magnetic mayhem.

"Patroller, engage killswitch the moment a magnetic pulse reaches the outer shell. Divert all power to data storage via blackbox on same command." When the inevitable would come, Polarity Man would be prepared.

EPISODE IX: Apollex

Apollex nodded quickly, fingers scrambling to tie up all her hair. A stray strand escaped and she pushed it away impatiently, all the while trying to catch up with Question (@Simple Unicycle). She ran up next to him, panting only slightly. She was honestly way out of shape for her occupation. Mental note: Stop stuffing yourself full with hamburgers

”Would it be possible for you to do a quick analysis of the situation for me, Q?” She tended to call every hero by whatever she deemed “cute” and Question was one of those unfortunate heroes to be called something like “Q"

She didn’t like the look that Q gave her. It was a critical one, and not a kind one at that. She frowned ever so slightly. She was a bit new to this whole job but honestly, it wasn’t like she was going to sprout an extra head and kill someone was she? She was a healer for god’s sake! She felt a frown make it’s way onto her face and quickly reverted her face back in a neutral position, she couldn’t risk getting wrinkles. Not when she was going to be invited to an elegant party on a yacht soon.

Ep. 6
5th Dimensional Hell

The omnipotent imp in control of the present situation was still yet to be seen by anyone. The snot monsters seemed to bore him after awhile so he quit making it rain green for a bit. The cartoon structures in the smaller world swayed with the breeze complete with lines that spun like in a two dimensional cartoon of the 40's and 50's. Bulleteer was less of a mess now but still smelled horrible, Vibe and Warden not so much because they didn't fly head first through any of the amoebic creatures.

"How in the hell did we even get here? One minute we're in a freezer then the next...? Do you think this is Toon Girl's doing? I just realized she's the only one of us not around..." Bulleteer asked removing is helmet and letting a bit of slime drip from his headgear.

"That's not a bad observation Bullet-guy..." Vibe responded wiping some slime off of his boot with a newspaper that had moving pictures like something in a Harry Potter film.

Across the small cartoon like planet...

Superman flew over Gypsy and Toon Girl as they made their way to what looked to be the one and only city on the smaller planet. Superman took notice of Toon Girl's awkwardness. Was she in league with Mister Mxyzptlk?

Toon Girl was hoping that this little party of hers would be able to find Bulleteer, Warden, and them and get out before things got... awkward or dangerous. Plus more or less being a fugitive wasn't the best of things to be when Mxyz had control over everything in this part of the 5th dimension.

And considering Toon Girl's reactions to what should be a place made for her, it wasn't a wonder why Gypsy noticed her unease. But a few Goo monsters and Superman landing soon after sort of distracted Gypsy and made Toon Girl a bit relieved. At least Superman had experience with Mxyz and the latter sort of held Superman in some esteem so maybe things wouldn't go too badly should it ever get to that point.

"So, did you find our team members there Sups? I sorta wanna get going if we can." Toon Girl said, looking around with a bit of worry, especially since the slime rain ended a bit too quickly for her liking.

"I see you found my wife's lost pet, Supergoof..." said an ominous voice from seemingly the entire world itself.

E P I S O D E VII:
T R A I N I N G D A Y S

Parasite's attack came almost instantly, yet Supergirl managed to catch both arms. That’s when it happened: Like kryptonite his very touch weakened every cell of her being. An exhausting discomfort brought her to her knees, while her eyesight got blurry. She held on, struggled and moved around with him, but reality was disappearing.

Somewhere far away a voice mentioned that Parasite fed on life-energy also. Then everything disappeared and only dreams remained.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

She was not Supergirl, she was Lara and her eyes almost grew to double size, when she saw the newspaper.
Below the headline “MAN OF STEEL BRINGS DOWN GOG” was an image of a purple skin giant with a golden, yet also broken helmet.
“You fought that?” she sprouted. She was 10 years old and had just welcomed her dad home.

“I did,” Clark answered, slightly humble.

“He’s huge! How did you do that?”

“Same way I reckon you’ll do some day.”

“Na-ah, I’ll never do that.” With inhuman stamina Lara shook her little head.

“Sure you will.”

“How?”

Clark watched his daughter stare up in disbelief. “Well, do you remember what I told you, when you broke the dinner table?”

A shadow fell on Lara’s eyes, and words didn’t come as easily anymore. “You told me to pretend it was made of porcelain. In fact, you told me to pretend everything was made of porcelain.”

“That’s right. But when you face someone like Gog… in those moments, and just for a little while… you simply stop pretending.”

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Stop pretending, and just let loose, Supergirl reminded herself through all the agony. Instead of wrestling any longer with the life-sucking creep, she released herself from him and flew away. It probably seemed much more like sliding, as she was still with her back against the floor while she did it. She managed to steer in the exact right direction and ended up alongside the half-cooked Grundy.

“Ups-a-daisy, big boy,” she muttered while lifting the heavy corpse up into the air, before lifting herself as well.

A running Parasite roared with hunger just before Supergirl dropped the creature on him. A huge baggage, Parasite was trapped under and one he couldn’t suck a single ounce of life from.

Supergirl slammed into Grundy and saw the purple hand, sticking out, twitch in pain. She raised herself to the ceiling and then flew down with everything in her and saw the hand tighten one last time and then loosen and never move again.
A fatigued Supergirl took in the utter destruction the fight had caused, while taking no joy in it. Shattered walls, broken floor tiles, burn marks as broad as road markings. None of it was part of the life she had initially wanted, and yet it had to be. Lara had to be Supergirl and had to do these thing, and she took a small comfort in the fact, that the team was succeeding.

Then someone reached around her and pressed a knife against her throat with the other hand. “Don’t move,” Savage said rather loud and with a voice like sandpaper.

Supergirl responded by banging an elbow into his shoulder, causing him to press the blade against her throat which did nothing but dull it. Her second hit seemed to break the shoulder completely and send Savage spinning into the ground. Taking a few cues from soccer practice, she kicked him across the room and made a sigh of relief. Truth be told, Supergirl had more or less acted purely on instinct. She approached him and cracked her knuckles, ready for Round 2.

“You are all supposed to work together,” Ted paused her with.

“But I’m totally winning,” Supergirl shot back.

“Killing is not winning.”

“They are robots, and it’s totally working.”

“In the real world, team effort is essential to-“

“BUT… I’M… WIN…”
Ted’s gaze completely disrupted her own interruption.
“Okay-okay, I understand. I’ll do better, promise.” she said. Feeling confused and slightly unappreciated, she looked over the final two opponents. One getting back up and for the most part ignoring his broken shoulder, and one very much still fighting in a ghostly manner.

Now, how on earth am I supposed to capture a ghost and a guy, who won’t quit?
Truth be told, this was a moment, where Supergirl really noticed her own lack of inexperience.

Episode VII: Training Days
July 30th, 2017 | Metro Tower - Metropolis
@Unknown100@Member 00492@Sir Lurksalot

There was a newcomer standing behind Ted Kord. The young man hadn’t said a word for his green eyes were glued to the action taking place beyond the force field wall. Vadim was in awe. His eyes glimmered with fear and excitement as he watched one girl fire laser beams from her eyes. They hadn’t vaporized anything, but it still delighted him to see that there were others with special powers. One guy was getting slammed around like a baby with a rag doll. Vadim’s lips rolled back into his mouth to bar back a hiss of sympathetic pain as he frowned. That looked like it sucked. The man managed to retaliate—and in a tantrum. Demonstrating immeasurable strength, he hefted the undead titan and lobbed him into a purple monster.

A grin parted Vadim’s lips as he finally spoke: Nice.

He resembled a baseball player with his red and white collared-shirt and red cap. Light-blue jeans rode down his long legs to a pair of brown work boots; and a black Jansport bag with a single change of clothes and travel-sized toiletries was on his back. Vadim was big for his height, borderline abnormally so. Most just thought the blonde and green-eyed man to be a lifter. His shirt, although a comfortable and breathable fit, did nothing to hide the massive deltoids, biceps, and triceps that shifted like boulders beneath his skin from the slightest movement. Thick, snake-like veins weaved over his arms, and his jutting thighs and calves caused the legs of his pants to slightly mold around them despite being loose.

Vadim had just arrived to Metro Tower and had spent a good deal wandering the facility, wondering where everyone had vanished off to. Had he missed the orientation? The training room and the heroes battling the robotic goons within was what he had been hoping to see. He had feared The League tossing a new recruit immediately into a mission with little warning. While he had dealt with villains before, rarely were they ever supervillains. He had told The League confidently that he was ready to handle scum of such a caliber, but deep-down, he wasn’t even sure. He wasn’t too familiar with his powers for there was never a proper place where he could just—let go.

EPISODE 9: MAGNETIC NIGHTMARE
Featuring @ineffable as Apollex and @Simple Unicycle as the Question

'Q? What is it with everyone calling me Q...?' Question pondered to himself as his companion asked for a quick analysis on the situation. The detective hummed slightly, a tinge of sarcasm evident in his voice as he spoke: "Situation easy to analyze: Building on fire, scientists and guards still inside, need our help. We should be going." With that, the faceless hero sprinted into the building, searching for anyone still inside. Spotting a wounded scientist, Question pointed her out to Apollex and yelled, "Tend to her wounds! Will look for more!" before continuing on in his search.

"Gotcha" Apollex threw a quick glance at Question before she followed him into the building. Her eyes caught the scientist's as she rushed on over, kneeling slightly. Apollex placed a hand over a large wound on the scientist's leg. It was gushing blood and Apollex almost recoiled as her delicate fingers sank into the mess.
"Stay still, this won't hurt." She gave a quick smile to the scientist before withdrawing into herself.
The noises of everything around her faded into silence as she started reciting. The words drew on every syllable as she pushed a certain amount of strength into them. She finished the recitation and opened her eyes. The wound had disappeared, only leaving streaks of blood on her hand. She helped the scientist up and ushered her to the door, running back to Question.

The Lizard
Ravager
Captain Marvel

in

Episode VIII: Trident of Atlantis

"Aww nuts...jus' when I can be useful in water...we are too deep down...." sighed Lizard in reply, already disliking being in such a situation.

"How the feck, did those damn Atlanteas survive in the firs' place? Or how did the Ol' Stars and Stripes reach this far down to take them out?" she added, curious on how the fate of Atlantis had ended in destruction.

"You have heard of a fuckin' submarine haven't you?" Rose stated, annoyance showing in her voice due to her dealings with the Bat. She opened her mouth to say more but opted not to as Captain Marvel stepped forward.

He had been asked to lead a mission with people whom he had never worked with in a place which he had only surmised was legend. Although he had also surmised all things magic were legend before he himself became the vessel of seven mystical figures. What's more, he was--as Rose blurted before Batman rudely cut her off--lacking requisite field experience which would equip him to lead in the traditional sense; so, he decided on a more natural approach. Marvel, still stood next to Rose, didn't want to draw much attention to himself and so he spoke up from where he stood,

"I lack the mind of some of you more..." he gave a side glance to Wilson from beneath the hood, "Creative individuals, so all I will say is: if something seems like it will be a problem, deal with it before it becomes one. Do not leave a teammate behind, use your strengths, supplement your partner's weakness, and most of all--don't leave my sight."

He fell silent, the floor now belonged to anyone who wished to speak.

"I think that damn well says it all." Rose remarked as Captain Marvel finished his spiel. "Best to gear up and get moving into the city." She continued grabbing her weapons off the bench beside her, slinging one sword over her should while the other one hung off the back of his waist. On either thigh, a pistol was holstered as Rose picked up her aquatic helmet, airbrushed to resemble her usual bandanna.

Stepping out of the jumpship, Rose looked around the arcitecture of Atlantis. It reminded her of her time in Greece, albeit with a hint of cyber-punk. The technology laden into each piece of arcitecture was at the very least on par with the modern world. Apparently Atlantean socery gave them a distinct advantage when it came to conjuring up the means to leave.

Overhead the shield shimmered as the power fluctuated. Rose paused, hooks of fear sinking into her heart that they'd be crushed before the mission ever truly began, but yet the shield held. Looking into the labyrinth before her, Rose shook her head as passage ways led everywhich direction. Tapping the forearm of her armor, she called up a heads-up-display as the H.U.D. appeared in her helmet, showing her the map of the area obtained by the League.

"Map suggests that fuckin' passage." She stated with a point of her hand as Rose turned towards the other three. "Is the most direct route to the throne. What's your call, Captain?" She asked the team's appointed leader.

'Hmm....so this is what sea-water tastes and feels like,' thought Lizard, easily able to be in the water without a helmet. As she could breathe underwater in essence - although, it didn't seem all that different to her usual. Albeit it came with the cost of having her ears shut, otherwise - Lizard couldn't get any information on what to do or go to. So she couldn't hear the ocean' sounds either sadly.

"If that is the most direct route, then let us take it." Marvel retorted, his demenor still unphased and rather unexcited. He could sense the pull of that old Atlantean magic swirling all around. It felt like an ancient salt mine--compact, shrouded, and shoveled beneath the care of a world which had long forgotten about it.

Lizard soon waved her arms infront of Captain Marvel and Rose - indicating that they should continue on their journey. Lizard was able to operate underwater without a helmet - but guess, that came at the price - that she couldn't speak to them. Since all that would be heard by her was simply bubbling and a muffled voice.

Marvel paced near the front of the group in case there did encounter something nefarious.

July 21st, 2017 - 16:32 | Greenhouse - Metro Tower

"So, first real fight as part of the League... how are you feeling?"

Duncan briefly glanced up at the old Superman-Robot from the little hole he was digging in the garden, his face twisting in a weird way as he tried to puzzle together an intelligent way to articulate just how he'd felt about the previous day's events...

"...Kiiiinda wish I got to keep my pants."

...And, true to form, settled on cracking a joke instead of actually saying what was on his mind. A habit that didn't go unnoticed by the old machine, though it didn't press the lad about it.

"Yes, I was wondering about that; The entire tower and everything in it was restored to the way it the second Extant and Fate vanished... except your pants." Ajax remarked, a perplexed note evident in his usual synthetic tone even as he seamlessly transplanted the sapling of a cherry tree into the garden dirt "That is... peculiar..."

"Made for one hell of a first impression, though; 'Hello there, Justice League! My name is Duncan and here is my gitch!'"

"Well, your reptilian friend seemed to enjoy it..." The machine quipped with calculated precision, very possibly reveling in how those words made the man next to him freeze for a moment, before he quickly covered his brief lapse in composure with a small smirk and a raised brow, though he kept his eyes cast down at his work.

"You sassin' me, Ajax?" Duncan snorted "Didn't think ye had it in ya."

"I am merely pointing out that in the span of a few weeks, you have saved the lives of three hundred and forty-two of your former coworkers, fought an upgraded Metallo to a standstill, went to a baseball game with possibly the greatest Hero that ever lived, helped bring down a time-travelling psychopath and then shared an intimate moment with a member of the Justice League." The (actually very sassy) robot remarked before Duncan could try to change the subject with more humour "...Perhaps this life suits you."

That gave the Rookie some pause. And he didn't even try to hide it this time.

"Yeah... you and Supes keep saying that, but I'm still not sure I buy it."

Ah, there it was. If Ajax had a mouth, it'd be wearing a particularly triumphant grin right about now-

The boy was finally speaking his mind.

"Mr. MacAodhan, in case you haven't noticed, you happen to be one of the most physically powerful beings on this planet. You could have gone out at any time you wished and forcibly seized anything you ever desired... but you took all that potential and abruptly threw it to the side because the only thing that mattered to you was working a normal job and drinking beer with your Grandfather." Ajax explained, placing it's trovel down and turning to the young man "Yet when push came to shove and lives were at stake, you used all that strength and fought like a lion to defend your home and everyone in it."

"...So, where exactly are you going with this corny speech?"

"That for all that you do not want to be a Big Damned Hero, it does seem to come naturally to you."

Duncan had to admit; watching Lara toss the holo-droids around was pretty goddamn cathartic...

Well, it also reminded him just how much he'd been holding back this entire time and how much doing so really annoyed the piss outta him, but God Damn watching the kid tear through both Grundy and Parasite (at one point, with eachother) was a hell of a fun sight. At least, until Wildcat was kind enough to remind her that she probably shouldn't be trying to kill her enemies if she was going to be part of their big damned spandex club.

...Not that he was necessarily fully on board with said club himself mind yo-

“And you, MacAodhan. Out of your teammates, you have the most experience with Supervillains.” Wildcat wasted no time cutting into him as well “Her conduct's on you. Get your shit together.

Well, a dressing-down by the guy who saved his Granddad back in the war and indirectly allowed him and his Dad to exist... That stung a little.

'Welp, guess getting an autograph for Gramps later is out of the question...' The Canuck winced internally as he took a deep breath and exhaled slowly in order to get his afore-mentioned shit into an appropriate degree of togetherness and turned towards Vandal Savage, who was outright ignoring him at this point and focusing on Supergirl '...Let's just get this shit over with.'

And so with a step forward, the Rookie seemingly vanished in a burst of speed, appearing only as a blur of motion until he abruptly stopped directly behind the replicated immortal. Hands firmly placed where it's shoulders met it's torso.

"Hey bud, forget someone?

Without another word, Duncan promptly squeezed, eliciting a loud series of pops and a louder scream from the droid as both of it's arms fell limp, dislocated and useless to it's sides. A pattern that repeated itself as the Rookie pushed his foot into the back of Pseudo-Savage's knee and forced it into the ground, crushing it.

"Now..." The thoroughly unhappy Canadian began as he let his enemy drop to the ground, ignoring the sight of Gentleman Ghost leveling one of his flintlocks at him from the corner of his eye as he calmly moved his foot over the back of Savage's other knee and pressed down, eliciting a final 'CRUNCH!' "You be a good boy and stay right there while I deal with your friend..."

The Ghost-bot fired, and there was a minute of silence afterward wherein Duncan simply stared at the dapper robot... before parting his lips with a cheeky grin and revealing he'd caught the bullet with his teeth. Which he casually spat off to the side.

"...Otherwise, I'mma haf'ta start spankin' ya lil' shits."

August 02nd, 2017 - 06:27 | Atlantic Ocean - Atlantis

The Captain didn't seemed inclined to aggressively lead and so Rose stepped forward, making her past the newest Marvel as she ventured forth into the city. The haunting ruins seemed likely to crumble at any second and Rose could only pray to whichever deity was listening that the shield didn't give out and crush her beneath the ocean. Enhanced physical condition or not, she was not built for life under the sea anymore than Superman was built for life in a Kryptonite box. Looking over her shoulder, Rose noticed the others were keeping up but none the less, taking their time moving along after her. No doubt that the Captain wanted to ensure they took every precaution they could. Personally, Rose couldn't care less. Batman had put her in a foul mood, all she wanted was something to take her anger out on.

Coming to a fork in the road, Rose made a split second decision and took the path to the right. Stepping inside the tunnel like pathway, the walls suddenly shook as tectonic plate movement rocked the city. Dust began to cloud the water as Rose looked up in time to see a chunk of stone give way. Activating her wetsuit's propulsion system, she jetted out of the way as the mouth of the tunnel collapsed, separating Rose from the rest of the group.

"Fuck." Rose cursed as she kicked the rubble to no avail. Tapping her commset, all Rose heard was static before she tried to call out to the others.

"Lizard." She called over the radio. "Captain Marvel, fuckin' Clutch even?" Rose asked as the deadline only returned static to her headset.

"Guess, I'm on my fuckin' own then." Rose muttered as she turned around, calling up the map again. The holographic display indicated she was still on a direct path to the throne room, but the passage she was trapped in, dipped into the bowels of the city whereas the passage the others would be forced to take actually was a more direct path which would take them over most of the city between here and the throne room.

"So much for damn gut impulses." Rose cursed as she turned on her light and propelled herself down the dark tunnel.

Episode 6 - The Warden

This entire situation made little sense to The Warden, and he hated it when things weren't straightforward. He had a hard enough time understanding simple things, without the memories of either of his early lives to call upon when the situations got tough. Even worse here, his allies seemed to be just as confused as he was, seeming to blame Toon Girl for whatever this was.

he considered their conjectures to be poorly thought out, however. In a cartoonish world where goo monsters appear and disappear at a whim, it is not unreasonable that she could have simply ended up in a different location... and besides... "If she were really powerful enough to create a world like this, I do not think that the Justice League would have lumped her in with us recruits. This is a level of power above all of us, even Superman." he observed, moving from thought to word, trying to formulate a plan. "But, regardless of the possible intentions of... of our teammate, it is likely that we are not alone here, and we should probably start looking for her, or anyone else who seems familiar." He looks to Bulleteer: "Bullet Head, you can fly, can you not? can you also lift me, and also him" he says while pointing at Vibe "if he cannot move quickly of his own volition?"

He wasn't really sure if moving out to search was the best of ideas, but neither of the others had proposed anything, and gaining the sight line flight provided was certainly better than nothing when searching for...

well, searching for whatever it was they were searching for.

The Gentleman Ghost levitated across the room, nearing Duncan with his cane-sword, when he suddenly stopped. Not just a halt, but absolutely froze from one moment to another. Only his dangling monocle revealed that time was indeed still passing.
A few meters from the intangible opponent stood Lara with her arm stretched out at him. Her breathing quiet and her mind concentrated. “Telekinesis,” she explained to the current room of question marks. “It’s the real source of my strength.” And no one really knows why. That last part was said only in her head and with an internal sigh. She saw the invisible adversary in front of her and almost felt him with her fingertips, despite being nowhere near him. With a flick of the hand she made him drop to the floor unconscious in a very undramatic manner, and that was it.

“That’s more like it,” Wildcat said, yet not quite smiling.

Making no effort to conceal her tiredness, Lara simply nodded and let herself drop down on the solid floor with a loud bump. Falling hadn’t hurt since she was little, and using telekinesis on things had always demanded more of her than merely smashing them. From down on the floor she awaited Wildcat’s final verdict.

5th DIMENSIONAL HELL

5th Dimension :

July 25th, 2017 - 02:18 | Cartoon Skyscraper Rooftop - Toon World

Warden of all people had devised a plan after everyone got their wits about them. As if his memory loss also effected the way he took the whole situation in. Almost as if he felt comfortable in another dimension. His plan was simple, to just fly around and look for other teammates. Bulleteer replied...

"I could carry one of you, but my flying ability is determined by keeping myself steady in the air and mostly flying straight. I don't want to fly and steer left or lower than usual and fly through a building and kill Cisco..." the helmeted hero responded.

"I see you found my wife's lost pet, Supergoof..." said an ominous voice from seemingly the entire world itself.

"What the **** was that?" Bulleteer asked out loud.

"That Supergoof MUST be Superman! He must have a rescue team here to find us!" Vibe yelled.

Eventually the team came up on Superman, Toon Girl, and Gypsy who they could see a few blocks up ahead on the rooftop of a small swaying skyscraper that looked like it came out of the Sunday Comic Strips. Superman floated towards a dwarfish man in a purple with yellow trim suit who was also just sort of hovering in the air now.

"What do you mean, PET, Mxy?" Superman asked.

"You know women in your dimension Superman? Sometimes they want stuff they don't need, or pets they really have no intention of taking care of themselves? Well that blue haired little beast hiding behind... who is that girl even supposed to be she doesn't look like a superhero at all? the 5th dimensional imp asked before waving his hand and changing her wardrobe to something more full bodied and leathery with a cape and hood. "Nope, I'm just not feeling this one..." he continued with another wave of his hand just making her vanish into thin air.

"WHAT HAVE YOU DONE WITH GYPSY?!?" Superman exclaimed readying himself for a battle.

"Don't get your tights in a bunch, I just sent her back home." Mxy replied as the other team was flown one at a time to the top of the skyscraper by Bulleteer.

"So... you were getting at Toon Girl being your wife's pet? Superman asked as Toon Girl, Bulleteer, Vibe, and Warden stood ready on the rooftop with Toon Girl slowly creeping to the back of the group.

"The wife picked her up at some shelter but I got tired of keeping up with her. So one day I took her leash off when we were walking and I miiiiight have opened up a portal into another dimension to send her to. I didn't mean to send her to yours, I thought it was the 4th dimension." the imp continued before catching another glimpse at a hero that didn't much look like a hero, Warden...

"You Justice League folks hard up for heroes these days?" My asked.

"Toon Girl is nobody's pet now. She's a valued member of the League the same as Warden, Gypsy, Vibe, and Bulleteer..." Superman responded.

"Whatever you say Supes, but the guy in the red and black supersuit looks like a di..."

"Will you send us back to our dimension?" Superman asked.

MAGNETIC NIGHTMARE

August 08th, 2017 - 04:22 |STAR Labs, Chicago

Question and Apollex continued rescuing scientists while both Polarity Man and Beetle attacked the helmeted master of magnetism. He used his power to deflect the attack of the blue clad bug hero and sent the debris flying elsewhere but the energy attack from the mecha hit it's mark and stunned the would-be-supercriminal. Green Lantern finally came to after being blasted through a wall. The seasoned mentor spoke into his communicator located in his ear to HQ...

"Whoever is on monitor duty we need some backup. Anybody we've got that doesn't use tech. Metahumans, aliens, mystics..."

Doctor Polaris had discovered all the metal parts in the mecha suit and weaponry of the Blue Beetle and ripped it out of the blue hero's suit and backpack before starting to pick the mecha apart limb by limb. That's when more heroes were teleported directly into the Lab this time. Amazing Man, Fire, and Ice were now on the scene.

"HIT THIS GUY WITH EVERYTHING YOU'VE GOT!" Green Lantern screamed blasting with his emerald energy as Fire and Ice poured on their elemental attacks from different sides while Amazing Man absorbed nearby energy for an electrical type of energy attack.

"LARRY YOU NEED TO GET OUT OF THE SUIT! GET OUT OF THERE!" the Lantern continued yelling.

Would the lieutenant make it out with the mecha still in the magnetic grip of Doctor Polaris? Did Q and A get the scientists out of harm's way?

EPISODE VII
Training Days

Wildcat

Wildcat looked over the carnage that the heroes had dished out. Even though they were simulated versions of their real life counterparts each holo-droid was still more than formidable on their own. That being said Wildcat wasn't as happy with the results as he had hoped to be. He whistled and waved the Leaguers in for a round up chat.

"Y'all did good today. Ya' took down the holo-droids and managed to do so non-lethally which is no walk in the park. Especially with the bigger guys..." Ted stated, "But thats not what the goal was. The goal was to get y'all to work as a team and that's not something I saw in ya today. In a real fight ya won't always be able to take on something head-on and by yourself. Sometimes you'll need to rely on your teammates for help... but if you just get used to working on the same team rather than actually working with the team then you're setting up this team for failure." Wildcat berated as he made sure to look each Leaguer in the eyes so as to push his point.

He wanted to see them succeed in their superheroics but they needed to get their eyes off of the glory and set them on the mission as a whole.

"Supergirl... Rook... you two probably did the best. Which ain't sayin' much. Cowboy and Playdough... still need a lot of work..." Wildcat continued patting Supergirl on the back of her shoulder before walking out of the training area.
