But, basically, gods don't exist.

Well, depending on your defenition of God I suppose... ;) ;) ;)

@PlatinumSkink Out of curiosity, how would Knight look in this condition from the outside? I understand that trhe paused time wouldn't allow light through, so is it all reflected and she looks like a mirror? Or is it paused on contact making her look black as night? Not super important but just curious.

Also, can she breathe in this form or does she have to open air holes or rely on the air within her armor?

@SkinnyTy If you can tell me the color air would have when frozen, I would be very curious. But, I've said it's blue due to high nitrogen concentration (AND NITROGEN'S BLUE, RIGHT!?). So, she's wearing a slightly stylized medieval knight armor that's entirely in a dull blue color, light doesn't reflect off it correctly, but it's there and it's blue, I imagine it. It isn't paused on contact, she cannot add more to an existing field of paused time.

I'm honestly open to suggestions if you feel it should logically interact differently. Heh.

She has to rely on air that she paused within her armor. She probably has an air-pocket inside her helmet for this very reason. But, yeah, she can't stay in there for long. But every time she opens a small hole to look out with her eyes to overview the situation, she gets some new air. So, yeah. Heh.

There is 1 alternative to gaining powers rather than a traumatic experience leading to a trigger event, and they are called Cauldron. Super secretive Illuminati type organization, but if you have the connections to find them, or they find you interesting, they can sell you powers. It's extremely expensive and usually costs extra favors on top of cash, but there's no denying their effectiveness. And if you even think about the possibility of revealing them to the world, well, you'll get a visit from the Bogeyman, and that is 100% guaranteed death. She always wins. Period.

@PlatinumSkink Well it is colorless, except when being ionized by high energy radiation in which case it is green, (hance the color of auroras) but that is ok, it doesn't need a perfect explenation, looking all blue and cool is 100% fine with me, since it looks super badass in my head ;)

As for what I would imagine it is when frozen, it would be a perfect mirror since there is no absorbance and nothing can pass through, it would thus be deflected since the state of the air can't change it can't absorb any energy from the photons. Zero distortion, nothing. Every time she paused it, it would precisely reflect light. Unless it got durty, accumulated debris or such on it, then that would be the same as if you got a mirror dirty.

@ProPro I somehow totally forgot about this, no idea why. Ya, that fits into the being born from wealthy parents narrative. If you want you can have it as she justified it as being religous, say she was from India or somethong although India had its own unique cape politics....

@SkinnyTy Ah. Shit. That sounds right, doesn't it?

I did keep Clockblocker's power in mind as I wrote the details of her power, and I don't believe the colours of those he pauses changes, but... But if something's perfectly paused, no absorption or so, then the fields would reflect all of it and become perfect mirrors, wouldn't they? ... ... ...

@Sickle-cell Hey, GM. I'd like your thoughts.

@MigyudonI really, really, really like this power. Few things, though. The power rating is Trump. Trump powers directly interact with other powers, which is what I believe your power does. Then you'd have sub ratings for the powers you've nicked off other capes. I will freely allow you to come up with other abilities for you to use - and even allow you to bet for other powers over the course of the story if you wish - providing an equally epic outcome would be achieved whether you win or lose.

Next point - as pointed out, Gods don't exist. However, if you wanted to use that trigger event(which I happen to really like) there is nothing stopping you changing it to make it clear that your character viewed the bet as being with a God, rather than a fat cat money lender or whatever it actually was. Alternatively, Cauldron might be a good thing for you because Cauldron powers have a chance of going completely wrong. Whenever you drink a vial of liquid to gain powers that way there is a chance you're entire body, or a part of it at least, will become completely alien to yourself, like Anon's no-facey-ness. I'll let you think that over, and if you need any further help, let me know. Otherwise, the character is looking pretty bloody good.

@PlatinumSkinkYour communicator can be literally anything, that's why I left it vague. Your choice. be it an earpiece, a little phone, etc, etc. Standard issue for Protectorate and PRT operatives for HQ to get in touch. Also, your actually fighting Sickle-Cell now. I did not anticipate this outcome.

Shit.

Clockblocker never froze time, he froze people. It might not change the colour of the air - but having it not do so would make it much, much more powerful. It would mean people wouldn't automatically know the frozen time was there, but having it chance the colour of the air gives you a totally different way to narrate using it rather than constantly ;she used her power' which is always nice. I'll leave it ultimately up to you, but personally, i'm quite fond of the blue-y tint. ^.^

@knifemanAwesome. Will grab one under each arm and leg it. Only half joking =P

Be ready for the IC post of a lifetime later tonight =P

Disclaimer before writing my next post. Brockton Bay's location in the real world is never mentioned. However, I am relatively certain that they asked for help from Boston during the Endbringer attack nearby, so my headcanon says the two are close.

Also, after the battle has concluded, I plan to write the first Interlude-style backstory reveal for one of the characters. Each player gets a vote as to which one I do, the one with the highest votes wins =P

@Sickle-cell I vote Maxwell. The Consortium is far too mysterious for their own good at this point and I require more info on their shenanigans.

Maxwell and Sickle are probably the deepest two characters in the Boston Wormverse - basically because they are arch-enemies, and one thing led to another =P

@Sickle-cell I have to choose between Pallas and Praetor? Thats difficult but I am going to go Praetor since we haven't heard much from him despite being central to the story.

Also, Worm describes Brockton bay as being one of the first cities colonized by pilgrims, its primary business historically was oceanic trade, It is within driving distance of Chicago, the pirtal there is described as the "US North East" portal, and the travellers come to Brockton Bay immediately after Boston, as does Accord after being kicked out of Boston (BTW where is accord, who basically owned Boston, ir Blasto for that matter? Blasto was a genetics tinker who in cannon had his lab get destroyed by the travelers, by order of Accord, not too long from niw Cannon wise. Probably in July? Just kidding, we dont need to include any of those guys in iur story, just interesting stuff.) Essentially it is very much implied that Brockton Bay is very near boston, I think it even mentions people being Patriots fans.

@SkinnyTyIn this timeline, Accord got punted the second Maxwell became a thing. He doesn't have a hope in Out-Thinkering the Consortium =P

There wasn't any point in bringing in Blasto when I have enough threats to keep you all busy till the end of time. And it's much less cheaty than his stuff =P

EDIT: Also, for reasons, I'd rather keep Praetor's interlude for until after you see more of him. Probably until a few months in, story-wise.
