@Redward Are we still waiting for any other people to submit sheets? If not, when can we expect to kick things off? I'm sorry for the barrage of questions. I'm too hyped!

@RyuShura Yeah, there are still a couple of people. I'll prod them tomorrow, if no word is given.

My plan is to start within the next two days. We'll be picking up during the first day of school, rather than having to trudge through the Archprincipal's introduction.

Also, no worries! I hope everyone is super hyped!

@RyuShura Sure there's a lot of room for growth, but if you already got lasers you can still get turbo laser cannons later on, you know what I mean? At the very least though, I'll be getting to make some interesting weapons >:D

@RoflsMazoy Hm, I never thought about it that way... but then again. If you're a JoJo reference, then it'll be your character's son who will be stronger and more impressive than the current iteration. :^D

Lololol, archprincipal.

Also, I'm sorry I've been so behind, university's gotten fucking CRAZY and I'm trying my damndest to keep up with school and life and writing at the same time. As things stand, I'll try to get up a CS tomorrow, but I've got two exams on Monday so we'll see how that goes. If you need to, feel free to start without me

Just thought I'd let you guys know my schedule so you have a rough idea of when I can post.

I work in a school, so I get weekends off and I'm finished by 3. I do have other responsibilities though so I usually don't get time to sit down and rp until 6pm. I tend to roleplay at a moderate pace; aiming for 2 posts a week, more if time allows.

I've still yet to make those edits to Piper. I spent the day at the river with my dog today instead :x

Will get those done at some point this weekend I promise.

I can easily say that: "simple is best".

Simplicity actually allows for far more room to work with a character and not need to keep track of complex resources and rules is a boon. Then again, here's an old school D&D player talking.

I love complexity for complexity's sake alone. ^_^ New school D&D - why be a Fighter 7 when you can be a Knife Ghost 2 / War Wolf 3 / Haunted Wolf Assassin 1 / Combat Nun 1 with four subsystems to track and engage with? No reason, says I, no reason at all. We all got preferences. I like subsystems and things.

Yes, everyone has their own preferences.

I just adhere to the common sense. "Streamlined Efficiency" and "Simplicity's Elegance" are things I can't part with in any aspect of my life.

@RoflsMazoy, nothing says your weapon designs can't be crazy-complex, if you feel the hunger. "Craftsman" is only as simple as you want - that's a gateway to everything your heart desires for sure. Sometimes I seek out that archetype or similar, a maker-of-things, if I am not sure exactly what it is I want specifically because I know I can go anywhere with it as soon as inspiration DOES strike.

We'll see how 'Game-y' this whole things gets, I suppose. Some of us might've thought of creative ways to fight and do combat, but it'll have to be seen how much of that we actually get to use. Honestly, I'm more excited to have character interaction more than fighting. I'm more of a fan of fun and interesting narratives. Sometimes too many numbers can get in the way of that. But sometimes it adds a unique flavor to an ordinarily bland scene. The anime 'Code Geass' comes to mind. Since the main character has a special power, otherwise standard mech and political flare becomes so much more cool.

Nothing like a good ol' mind game battle, in my opinion. :^D

Indeed, I'm not very much up for PVP because it leads to all kinds of sourness.

I prefer to put character over power more often than not. I think that it makes things more interesting this way.

Isn't there an active skill among those passives, making that a total of 5 actives? I mean, that first one isn't passive at all.

Are blatant psychopaths allowed in the academy, let alone allowed to walk around in public? I mean its literally written all over their page. Maybe if it was more subtle, I wouldn't be so bothered by this. Given the abnormality of there being a global network integrated into humanity giving them magical powers, and minors engaging in officiated combat for sport, but in every other sense, this is still a peaceful, functioning society right?

If combat frequently 'triggers' some form of maniacal PTSD, I think that is grounds for a permanent ban.

Maybe I'm thinking too far into this. They could simply be playing a 'character'. Even still, idolizing a psychopath archetype enough to form a class around it, which is stated to be unchangeable, is kinda... yeah. Not exactly family friendly.

But whatever, it's not my call.

To be fair, I think both you and I are circling that edge ourselves, with the scary powers. I want to see Rosalie's personality and motivations before I weigh in on that; sometimes the aesthetic is just the aesthetic, and a giggling berserker is not necessarily an EVIL giggling berserker.

I think you're right, but it'd be pretty easy to swap it with Crimson Dart and make THAT a Passive - blood on her blade becomes an anti-barrier projectile automatically.

That works too, @MordecaiThe 1st. So, would you be willing to tell us more about Rosalie, who she is as a person, whether she's gonna murder us all...? :P

I'm not ruling out that it can simply be a 'character'. Even then, I'm not sure how well they would get along with everyday business seeing as these things are public information. We have to consider the kind of society this Enlil System has created, and how a person's class can also be a window to their personality.

Imagine going to a job interview and the boss checking your info and seeing that you are the bloodthirsty 'Cleaver' class.

"Yeah, you know, it's just... something I do..."

Then again, monster hunting is always a way to go. But we see no indication of that. And what do her parents/guardians think of their innocent little daughter creating such a class? I just don't know.

And I suppose not everyone HAS to engage in ranked fights. Based on the information that we have been provided, I assumed they are highly regulated and that only the most qualified high-ranked fighters will be representing the country when it comes to more politically important affairs. Since these have replaced any other form of grand negotiation, and large-scale warfare is considered obsolete. I just can't see normal people being desperate enough to vote for a crazed blood-giddy fighter as their 'national hero'. But then again, I don't know just what kind of rulings and rights are earned through these international duels. Maybe it really is that desperate?

Maybe losing means so much more.
