Personality: A relatively cold person with strangers, Rayne originally became a hunter out of a sense of familial duty, but despite this he still wanted to keep the general population safe from the Grimm if he could. Never one to play nicely with others, this frequently put him at odds with the strict teachers at the Atlesian schools he attended. With a drive to succeed no matter the cost, and a sharp, tactical head on his shoulders, he is good at making split-second decisions in the heat of battle - providing no-one’s lives are at stake.

If someone is in danger, he will risk life and limb to ensure they survive the encounter, even if he himself would not. This extends to strangers as well. While he may not give them the time of day, he would lay down his life for them, if the situation called for it. The singular potential exception to this rule are the faunus.

Rayne harbours a deep resentment of all faunus. With a burning hatred for the White Fang, it will occasionally bleed over into his interactions with other faunus. While he certainly can put aside his feelings to work with them, he’d really rather not, as he believes that they are highly untrustworthy. On missions, he will always watch his back with a faunus around - both in case they stab him in the back, and because deep down, he doesn’t trust their skills either.

In combat, he fights with the disciple of an Atlesian military student, but with a wilder and more unpredictable nature. Instead of doing the obvious thing, he tends to take the extra second to weigh up alternative means of attack, prioritising ones which he believes the enemy will least expect. It’s due to this that he has come up with so many creative and colourful ways to use his weapon and Semblance.

He also has several claw scars on his back, which he tries to keep hidden at all cost.

Backstory: The son of an Atlesian weapons developer and the ex-heiress of a large weapon manufacturing company, one might expect that Rayne’s younger life would have been filled with lavish luxuries and dinners with company executives.

In truth, he spent his childhood in the arms of a cosy little village, deep within the Atlesian icefields.

Ciane, his mother, turned down her right as the next in line to own the family weapons business to become a huntress herself, cutting her way through the Atlesian wilderness as a travelling village guard. This led her brother - Cornell - to take over the company in her stead. Not satisfied with being outdone by his sister, however, Cornell struck out as a hunter himself while also managing the business. In recent years, with the passing of their father, he has been forced to take over more and more roles in the business personally, and has retired from hunting, for now.

On the other hand, Rayne’s father Reginald spent most of his days down in his development lab underneath the village, toiling away making and testing weapons for eventual use by the Atlesian Military. In his spare time, he continued work in the lab, fabricating weapons for use by Ciane and the rest of the guards to better protect themselves from the Grimm.

Rayne, then, managed to stay away from the pomp and ceremony that may well have become a staple of his daily life. Being the son of a huntress had the eventual effect of him developing the same aching wanderlust - that desperate need to see more of the world than a simple plain of ice. This same desire would also pass on to Rayne’s sister, Celeste, with both children already wanting to be hunters by the age of 6.

When the time finally came to pass from basic school onwards, naturally Rayne begged to attend the combat schools for which Atlas was famous. Reluctantly, his parents agreed, but because of how far Voreios was from the school, he had to stay at campus dorms during the week and only travel home for the Saturday and Sunday.

It was here that his icy nature towards strangers began to melt, under the command of Carmine, his first-year squad leader. She was a fox faunus, and a girl of brilliant intelligence. Her only failing was her ability to deal with unforeseen situations. Their missions generally went well, and the two became fast friends, but problems did arise on occasion.

When something did go wrong, Carmine floundered. Into the gap, Rayne stepped forward and turned the situation around - but only by directly disobeying his squad captain’s orders. Although she admits her directions were lackluster, going against orders is a cardinal sin within the Atlas Military, resulting in two black marks on Rayne’s file.

Atlas wasn’t for him, though. The strictness of the rules stifled any chance for creativity. However, it wasn’t like he had any other choice. Voreios needed his mother to protect it, and the military needed his father’s weapons. He hated it, but if everything hadn’t changed, there was where he would have stayed.

But it did.

One saturday night, around halfway through his second year at the combat school, he was out on a mission with the town guards. Routine stuff, breaking up a potential nest of Beowolves to deter them from coming back. The mission went without a hitch. What they returned to, on the other hand, was hell.

The town was ablaze. Grimm wandered the streets, cutting down and eating his neighbours and friends. White Fang soldiers gunned down survivors while avoiding the creatures they had loosed upon the village. A group of injured faunus that the people had welcomed in were actually agents of the faunus terror organisation - and they’d struck from within with a vengeance.

Rayne made locating his family the top priority, however by the time he located his father, it was too late. He told the boy to run, before giving him his pendant and passing away by the side of the street. His mother fared slightly better, going toe-to-toe with a large, sword-wielding Grimm in a fight she eventually lost. All while Celeste looked on in horror. Grabbing his sister and running, the two headed home to stock up on ammunition and for Rayne to give her a weapon, before they attempted to escape the carnage.

Ducking out of the village, trying to lose a pack of Beowolves that were following them, they came to a stream. Hiding in it while the pack passed by, they figured they were in the clear. Until the Grimm caught up. Rayne’s aura was already pretty spent from the mission, and several claws tore open his back as he tried to throw Celeste clear. As her brother wrestled with the Beowulf, she turned to fight and was cornered by several more. They attacked - giving her a scar across her nose - before she used her Semblance to drive them off.

Stumbling onto an abandoned bike, the two hopped on and sped away from the village.

For the next several months, their home would be the road and sea as the pair began an epic voyage from the far north of Atlas to the Vale heartlands. Their father had, with his dying words, steered them away from their capital city. Instead, he implored them to head south. Neither expected that the journey would take several years, but it did.

Once they had reached Vale, Rayne found himself badly injured after a Grimm attack. Waking up in a strange and unfamiliar village, Celeste had found them aid nearby. Feeling guilty for inconveniencing these strangers and grateful for their time and effort used to help him, he remained their faithful guardian in return for a number of years. Throughout all his time there, the drive to continue onwards pulled at him, but the chance to do so never appeared.

Until, by a complete stroke of luck, his Uncle visited the village.

Stumbling across the niece and nephew he thought long dead, he whisked them off to Vale City where they have been living ever since. The time spent out on the roads was not a waste, however, as both hunters have developed a keen sense for danger and ample practical skills - the kind you can’t really pick up in a classroom. With their natural talent shining through and a little under-the-table help from their uncle, Celeste found herself heading to Signal Academy, with Rayne starting at Beacon this coming year.

Weapon: The Requiem
Weapon Description: A sword-shotgun combo, Rayne has never really considered long-ranged strategies. In gun form, the Requiem is simply a normal pump-action shotgun capable of firing dust ammunition. In sword mode, though, it has a much wider array of uses. Pulling the trigger near the top of the handle fires a buckshot round just as it would as a gun, with the pellets flying out a small opening at the tip of the sword. The recoil from the shot does just as much damage as the shrapnel from the round, however, and both together can shred a regular Grimm to ribbons with a single trigger-pull.

The more impressive feature of the sword is its ability to absorb the dust energy from ammunition and spray it from vents located along the side of the blade. Holding the trigger down engages a reaction within the blade, pouring elemental energy from a number of holes designed to cool down the inside of the gun barrel when fired, and essentially coats the cutting edge with whatever kind of dust was within the ammo used. The effect this has on the blade can vary wildly depending on the element of the dust used. Fire dust simply bathes the sword in blazing-hot fire, searing closed any wounds opened, whereas ice dust exits the vents and crystallises to extend the length of the cutting edge with a brittle covering which shatters on impact. Naturally, some dust is incompatible with this technique, either through actual physical restrictions or that the resulting effect is detrimental to the weapon, the user, or both.

Semblance: Time Dilation
Semblance Description: To outside observers, Rayne has two entirely unrelated Semblances. The ability to teleport short distances, and the ability to mark a space and move back to it at will.

This, of course, is nonsense.

Both abilities are actually two sides of the same coin, and come from a central ability. Rayne can control his own position in his timeline.

To explain it in an awesome way, time is like a river which constantly flows in the one direction. Each person is like a leaf on that river. One use of his Semblance is that he can mark a point in that river, and providing he doesn’t move too far from that point - too far through time, not space - he can return to it. This doesn’t reverse any physical damage or exhaustion received during the time between shifts. If you were to set the leaf on fire, it would remain on fire despite being further up the river. This ability extends to all items or people Rayne is touching, but only if he was in direct contact with them when he marked the point and when he moved back to it. These ‘marks’ are actually visible to the naked eye as a sort of ephemeral clone of him, wavering slightly in the air - potentially allowing enemies to plan around it if they are aware of what he can do.

The second use is the ability to simply freeze the river. By stopping the flow of time for all but himself and those he is touching, Rayne can dodge attacks, queue up a barrage of shots from The Requiem or drag an ally to safety. However, what he is essentially doing is negating the flow of time on whatever he is using his power on. This places enormous strain on anyone involved and cannot be kept up for very long. The most he’s been able to hold this ability active for in one sitting was roughly 23 seconds.

Extended use of the ability can improve the symptoms as the body gets used to being without time - but only by so much. For instance, someone who has never undergone the process before will be racked with pain during the stop, and feel violently sick and lightheaded afterwards. Rayne always feels the same symptoms, but lessened by around half, however frequent use in a short timeframe increase the repercussions dramatically.

Combat Outfit Image/Description:

A heavy, dark red, leather jacket decorated with various pieces of black leather for additional protection and straps to hold them in place. Black combat trousers and boots, for practicality. He wears several bandoliers, each one holding two different elements of dust-infused shotgun rounds. A worn leather scabbard hangs down across his back to hold The Requiem, with a pouch across the back of his waist to hold it in gun mode.

Casual Outfit Image/Description:

Basically always wears a combination of black trousers with red and gray tops - sometimes both together. Somehow manages to put even less care into his hair when out of combat - although that might just be because of how hectic his combat gear actually looks that the scruffy hair kinda fits.

Personality: Ezekiel, or Zeke as he prefers to be called instead, is a relatively calm individual, with his own values and virtues. He knows when to talk, when to communicate, and when to share his own wisdom, thus marking him as one to keep remarkable silence. He can be brutally honest, and won't hesitate from telling someone the truth. He never sugar-coats things. Zeke can be a loose cannon when angered. It can be very difficult to calm him down, but he often finds his release in destroying things. He doesn't favor working with others, but will do it if he has to. Zeke is a loner, and will often be seen doing things by himself. He loves to train and make himself better, because he believes that there is always room for improvement. He is not one for confrontation, because he knows his temper must be controlled at all costs. He can be quite stubborn, and does find combat to settle most things, but Zeke tends to force himself to agree that peace-talking is the best way to go. Zeke is a very steadfast and stolid person. He is also very strong and loyal.

Backstory:Being born a Faunus, Zeke was always teased. He hails from a small cottage on the far outskirts of Mistral, that being at least a mile or two from open society of the kingdom. For the first beginning years of his life, he was taught his weapon mechanics by his parents, as well as the wandering wisdom-filled uncle. But, for the most part, he was very self-taught in his art of fighting and semblance-usage. This was where he had learned to be more of a loner than be around many people. She became in tune with animals, as they were the only company he had really needed. Once old enough, Zeke was enrolled in Haven Academy and began training there. Like any Faunus, however, he was teased for his extra appendages and hybrid genes. His peers knew how to push his buttons, up to the point where the boy had learned both his hotheadedness as well as his patience. Of course, he never really had any friends, except for the occasional Faunus that he had happened to clique with. That was always at a minimal chance, so Zeke had learned that friends don't assist you in any way except for hurting you. He had taken in the lesson that purebred humans were untrustworthy beings that were incredible backstabbers to those who they gain the trust of.

Zeke—after 3 years at Haven Academy—had finally been drafted to a more prestigious academy. And that was Beacon. Finally, a place where he would be accepted for what he was. Somewhere where he would be in rankings because of his skill, not his breed. he was ecstatic, but, being such a stubborn boy (as well as being one that had learned to be nonchalant about most things), he didn't show such an emotion. Zeke had packed up his belongings right away, and began to manage and repair his weapon, as well as refine his own spirit. Beacon was the change he was looking for, and was definitely something he was going to be excited for.

Weapon: Harmony and Discord
Weapon Description: A twin set of tonfa's that can double as close range explosive rounds, and medium range pistols. The longer ends of the tonfa are where the close range explosive rounds are fired from, usually in combination of close melee combat to push the opposition back or cause them to falter. The shorter ends of the tonfa can be used as pistols, with the clip being loaded in the handles of the tonfas. Commonly the pistols are used in fights that put some range between opponents and Zeke.

Semblance: Demon Dance
Semblance Description: Gains unnatural speed. His movement becomes far faster then what is deemed normal attacking his opponents at high speed. Due to the increase in movements speed it looks like he is teleporting when he dashes toward or away from an opponent.

Personality:
Seth is a kindhearted individual who wants to see people happy and keep others safe. He strives to make everyone around him feel as peaceful as possible. However, his true personality is masked by his fake personality. To anyone around him, Seth comes off as rude, a jerk, and someone who people don’t like to be around. He does this because he fears that his primal side will trigger and he’d attack those around him. He pushes people away because he fears he’ll hurt someone around him. So he created a nasty personality to keep people safe from himself.

Seth was raised by the Moon Bloods: a clan of wolf Faunus that lives in a small village outside the city. Dagger, the leader of the Moon Bloods and a few other clan members found Seth on the path to the village after they had finished hunting for food and herbs. Seth was only three months old and sleeping inside a cardboard box. Dagger had considered leaving Seth to the elements until Serenity offered to take care of him. Dagger knew that she had recently lost her son and husband to a pack of Grimm and agreed. Even though Serenity took care of Seth like he was her own son, Seth seemed to find his way into Dagger’s hut and fall asleep on the sheepskin rug in front of the fire pit. Even though Dagger originally saw Seth as another mouth to feed and an outsider, Dagger seemed to imprint on him and he took Seth under his wing.

Dagger acted as Seth’s father and taught him the ways of the Moon Bloods. When Seth turned 12, Dagger introduced him to the Moon Bloods way of fighting called Wolf Combat: a cross between mixed martial arts and parkour. The fighting style tapped into their animal instincts to detect danger from the afar and neutralize it. However, because this form of combat was crafted to be used by wolf Faunus, Seth had a hard time learning it. It took him 5 years to finally get to a high enough level to be considered a hunter in the pack. However, even though he was a candidate to be part of the hunting pack, he still needed to go through initiation. Seth could feel the butterflies in his stomach as he stood outside the forest with the rest candidates and hunting pack. The initiation called for the candidates to travel into the woods with the hunting pack and slay their first Grimm.

Seth traveled through the woods with the pack in search of Grimm. He knew the larger the Grimm the more probability he would be accepted into the pack. However, he also knew: the bigger the Grimm, the less likely he’d make it out alive. Dagger had given Seth the very same weapons he had used when he went through initiation. Two yo-yo chainsaws called Wolf Bite Yo-yos. Seth and the rest of the pack stopped when they heard a twig snap, then creaking; finally, he turned when he heard a massive thud. Standing where the tree had fallen was a pack of Ursas Grimm. The hunting pack readied their weapons and howled as they rushed the Grimm. Seth followed suit and attacked the first Ursa he could find by flinging his yo-yos at the creature. The chainsaw blades moved to the outer radius of the yo-yos and began to spin just before they connected with the flesh of the Ursa. The creature roared and swiped at the strings, but Seth pulled back the yo-yos before the Ursa’s claws could strike. The chainsaw blades retracted back into the yo-yo so Seth could catch them.

The monster roared and rushed at Seth, but the Ursa’s path was blocked when another of its kin fell in front of it with its head cut off. Seth looked to his left and smiled when he saw Dagger holding the dead Ursa’s head. Seeing him able to take down one of the creatures gave Seth a bit more confidence. He waited for the Ursa to get close and when it swiped at Seth he dodged and attacked the Grimm bear with a flurry of kicks and punches. The Ursa suddenly backhanded Seth into a tree and all Seth remembered was the hit and then darkness. When Seth came to, he found he was lying in a bed in the medical hut back at the village. His left arm was wrapped in bandages and the rest of his body had bandages here and there with his ribs fully wrapped. He sat up and felt a sharp pain rushed through his ribs. He sat in bed for a few seconds to let the pain subside before he was able to stand up.

When he walked outside, he saw the hunting pack had skinned three of the Ursas and was starting on the final one. However, when they saw Seth they seemed to go on the defensive which caused Seth to step back. He didn’t understand why they were looking at him like he was a Grimm. Dagger had walked out of his hut and quickly calmed down the hunting pack before asking Seth to meet him in the medical hut. When he followed Dagger back into the hut, Dagger explained why the hunting pack was scared of Seth.

According to Dagger when the Ursa knocked Seth out, it triggered a sort of primal side. Which caused Seth to become a wild animal and attack the Ursa, but no matter how many strikes the Ursa took. The creature wouldn’t go down. However, Dagger said that there was a sickly green aura around Seth that acted like armor and when the Ursa hit the aura. Cuts formed on Seth’s body, but it seemed Seth didn’t feel the pain. Dagger explained that with every new cut, Seth grew more and more insane. Dagger could tell Seth couldn’t bring down the Grimm alone so Dagger and a few others in the hunting pack helped to take the creature down. However, when the creature was finally taken down. Seth suddenly attacked Dagger and the rest of the pack like he thought they too were Grimm.

Dagger and the rest of the pact were caught off guard by his attack and before they could subdue him, Seth had injured two of the hunting pack members. Dagger said that once the aura around Seth broke. He stopped attacking them and fell unconscious. When Dagger finished, Seth’s hands were shaking. He’d never think of attacking anyone in the village. He saw them as his family, but why would he attack them without reason? Dagger told Seth he had an inner primal rage that seemed to at pivotal points in battle. The problem was that Seth couldn’t control when his Primal triggered. The thought that it might turn on while he is asleep scared him to the bone. Dagger handed Seth a flyer for an academy that trained hunters and huntresses. Dagger told Seth that this academy would help with both his inner primal rage and how to control it.

Semblance:
Soul String: using his aura, Seth creates thin strings of aura that attach themselves to his Yo-yos and can be used to attack, defend, or activate the Dust slots within the Yo-yos. Creating more than two Aura strings drains his Semblance tremendously and when he uses all eight of his Yo-yos his semblance can only withstand 20 minutes of use before it falters and needs time to recharge. however, during Seth's Primal Rage state. He cannot activate his Semblance and after he is out of the state, his Semblance cannot activate for sevreal minutes.

Seth stands six foot two, he weighs 240 pounds and is a slim and medium physique. He has candy apple red eyes, short white hair, large bushy tail, a chipped right fang, and he is slightly deaf in his left ear. His right arm has a tattoo of a King Taijitu Grimm starting from his shoulder and wrapping around the length of his arm to his wrist where the mouth is open in a silent hiss. On his left shoulder, he has a tattoo of a beowolf Grimm's head with black slime dripping from its slightly open mouth. He is normally seen wearing a blue t-shirt with a design of a cross exploding from a skull as chips of bone fly from the open wound. Black jeans, black and white sneakers, and around his neck is a necklace with his emblem on it.

The family of Rampion were once well known in weapon manufacturing, only to fail when they were exposed to use Faunus slave labor. With their wealth quickly declining, they became desperate to keep their money. And so the family of Persinette came forward, offering them wealth, in exchange for closing down their company and to give their eldest daughter, a woman of astounding beauty by the name of Angelique, to the Persinette's eldest son, a young man with no ambition named Dominic, in marriage. The two were wed and locked into an unloving relationship, as Angelique resented being used by her family. Still, they were expected to continue the family line, and so Aurelia was born, and she was doted on by all.
That isn't to say she fixed their relationship, as Dominic grew suspicious as Aurelia got older. You see, both Angelique and Dominic were dark haired and dark eyed, and yet Aurelia had blonde hair with bright eyes. He refused to believe that Aurelia was his daughter, and the two families got into a feud that would become common gossip. Unfortunately, this extended to the young girl; what once was a cheerful, happy child became very enclosed and afraid of nearly everyone. She would often hide wherever she could and not speak to anyone for days, afraid of getting yelled at and blamed for something she couldn't control.
For many years this continued, and one day, Angelique grew very ill. On her deathbed, she begged Dominic to stop the fighting between the families, regretting that she let it continue for so long. It was here he asked if Aurelia was really his daughter, and he was heartbroken when she would not respond right away. She admitted to having an affair shortly after they were married. Still, she asked that he take care of Aurelia, as once she was dead no one would take care of her. Angelique died shortly after that, and despite a lingering anger, he made sure to try to go with her words. Despite her wishes, however, the two families shunned one another, and after Angelique's death, they never spoke or acknowledged one another ever again. While he failed at that, he made sure he wouldn't make the same mistake with Aurelia--even if she wasn't his blood, he admitted that she was the last person he truly loved.
