Justin Bark

Royal Complex Dungeons

The dungeon was no strange sight for Justin. Although he had never been able to call this particular holding complex a home of his, the professional lawbreaker had come across a few in his time. There was a saying relating to overcoming seemingly impossible odds that flashed through the man's mind, though he didn't put much thought into it. In fact, he couldn't really think of much beyond the basic things that he felt at the present moment, considering how hard he was coming down from the Dust. It was as if he were going in slow motion and sobriety was bringing an intense tiredness. He couldn't even make himself eat the porridge that wait for him, despite the fact that he hadn't eaten all day. Besides, Justin knew that even career criminals wouldn't be locked up forever for what he had done. Depending on the guards, or perhaps the magistrate presiding over them, he could even get out on a promised bribe or something of the sort. However... this was the Royal Complex, which he wasn't quite sure what he was doing inside of in the first place. Maybe they had finally grown tired of Justin's activities in their city? The passing idea made Justin consider the possibility of resistance to be more plausible.

Although the guards had taken Justin's belongings, they left him with his clothes. Even his syringe was missing, which Justin was furious about, to say the least. Having become used to this route of administration, he would do anything to get another once he was free. It was no doubt in his mind that the guards would pawn the item off, along with his other valuables. The grieving addict tried not to worry about this too much, seeing as it was simply not the time. He let loose a deep sigh and gave a long look over his surroundings, deciding to scrutinize what detail of the surrounding he could before he got too tired and decided to get comfortable. Who knows, perhaps there was an obvious escape route just waiting. Opening the door was just the first step but a step in the right direction regardless.

Justin's attention was first drawn to the cell next to his, containing a girl who looked very young. This brought Justin to raise his brow and maintain a slightly confused look on his face, especially since he was watching her toy with some sort of mechanism, likely a lockpick of some sort. Even as a ruffian in his youth, he could not have imagined doing something so heinous as to end up here. So, this in-plain-sight escape route may have simply been delivered by the Maker. He huffed and sputtered out a small cough before summoning up the words to address this girl, who had began waving at folks who were settled across from them.

"Oi, kid. I don't know who ya' are but ya' look crafty and got something of definite use in 'yer possession", Justin plainly stated, referring to the metallic rod, "...give us some time to work up some details and we can think about getting these doors open, yeah? Maker's blessing if ya' get past the guards on 'yer own, after all". Justin's head was starting to pound and he felt as if he could just fall asleep on the spot, though he was focusing what energy he had left to think about his words and plan of action rather deliberately. Surely, the girl would be able to sense the aggravated tone to his voice, though if she were perceptive enough, be able to recognize that this was either not normal or it simply wasn't aggravation out of hostility. Justin considered this himself.

"Hells, where are my manners? Justin Bark at your service, young lady. General Serviceman for hire. Now, I ain't tryna' tell you what to do or anything like that, mind you. I just figured I'd let ya' know what's goin' on and well... I'll be here to talk it over if you need more convincing". Justin gave another slight cough before offering a curt nod to the young woman and turning his attention to those across from them whom she had waved at.

He looked over to the couple who shared a cell. He thought this to be peculiar, as any proper jailer would not make such a mistake in a high risk dungeon such as this. He looked them over curiously, attempting to discern whether they could be a help or a hinderance. Something about the woman called out to Justin, as she not only struck him a career criminal due to the appearance but she had a particularly interesting aura about her. Justin offered the two a nod and then paid particular attention to the woman as he gave out a high pitched whistle. The bird call... because what do birds do? They fly high.

Justin's attention darted to the cell next to them and he soon spotted the man making symbols on the floor and moving his body in erratic patterns, observing the ritual whilst keeping an ear out for a whistle back or any sort of response from those around him. Bark could not make much sense of the practice, though he did notice that the man made a particular focus on this direction. Justin didn't like it. Voices began calling in his mind, warning him of the dark magic that was unfolding. He could not discern whether the whispers warned him of a curse or another terrible spell.

Regardless, the voices in his head started getting loud. Louder than anything. They consumed his mind and started shouting for him.

"LISTEN HERE YOU FUCKIN' SPINELESS CUR, DON'T YOU DARE PUT YOUR DAMNED DARK MAGICS ON ME! WHAT ARE YA'!? A BLOOD WITCH!? A DEMON IN DISGUISE!? MAKER HELP YOU SHOULD I GET IN YOUR CELL, DEMON. EVEN A CURSE WON'T STOP ME!!"

Gail // Royal Complex Dungeons // Headaches

Gail was quite surprised upon being moved, and had to fight the immediate urge to struggle free, remembering that Y'Vanna was the only one in the cell with him. This act on her part surprised him - it was unlike her to get close at all. Even when offering him food during their deals... something she did a lot, come to think of it... she was still kinda stiff, never wont to get close to him.

It was probably the stress, much as he hoped for different. He vaguely heard the sounds and clanks of the guardsmen coming down. And the stench of the porridge. Gail had always prided himself on his cooking. He knew it wasn't much, especially with his level of income. but at least he never made anything that smelled... like that. he chanced removing his hands from his eyes, and discovered that he could indeed do that. He saved sitting up for later, choosing to observe the world via sound.

The world, however, observed him, one of the guards leering over at him for a moment. Gail felt rather unwilling to get into a staring contest with him, and shut his eyes to avoid it. When he opened them, the guards had left, leaving the unpleasant food and unpleasant thoughts in their wake. He chose to ignore the food for now, still not feeling great. The thoughts though, chose to make their presence known. Special plans... Special plans... what on earth could a useless son of a useless man give to the King that the people about whom he actually cared couldn't? The only obvious answer was some sort of suicide mission. But even then - he wasn't fit for anything like that, either! He hadn't any useful skills outside of his potions, and that wasn't something he could just pump out whenever he wanted. The nervousness stewed with the nausea and his oncoming headache, making the avoidance of irritability a challenge.

He noticed for the first time another talking. He leaned to look over, but couldn't quite make out its source, the pillar between their and the glow-ey guy's cell obscuring his view. The man's target could be seen. Surprisingly small, she appeared to have managed to sneak something in? Probably not worth it to attempt an escape. Certainly not with him involved. He turned back to the ceiling, as the still unseen man began to raise his voice. Gail sighed, speaking up after he seemed to be done. "Can we maybe not with the yelling?"

Guillan - Royal Complex: Dungeons, Early Morning

Lautrec

Lautrec was sitting inside his protective ward. It wouldn’t keep anything physical at bay, as even a breeze could ruin the whole setting, but it would keep the evil spirits and curses at bay. Feeling a little safer, he now had a lot of time to kill until the guards rescued him from his predicament. Currently he felt like a lamb caught between hungry wolves, and he’d make damn sure he was a lamb that survived the encounter.

He heard the noise of the guards coming down in their armor and he quickly snuffed Willow out. It seems they brought the prisoners some much needed… food? He looked at what the bowl contained and he decided it was poorly made porridge. This was the Royal Complex Dungeons, not some ramshackle prison! The quality of the food should be way higher than this. It must be that the cook misread partridge as porridge, and were confused by the order. Being accustomed to making only high quality meals, the supreme chef must have attempted to recreate the pauper cuisine, and messed up due to not being familiar with the making of such grub.

The guards left after saying something about the King wanting to use them for something. He wasn’t sure what, but perhaps he wouldn’t be hung after all. If he could prove himself useful to the King, courtly intrigue, grand balls with music and good food awaited him. He got on all fours and reached toward the bowl, retracing his previous patterns, but this time around the bowl, making extra sure to ward off against the direction Justin was in.

As he was working around the bowl, Justin finally stirred. He seemed fairly calm as he talked to the child in the adjoining cell, apparently not hungry yet. It was a matter of time to be sure, so Lautrec was just glad it wasn’t him who was next to the madman. The porridge might sate his hunger for a while, or it just might be the appetizer he needs before a feast. Then, Justin started yelling at him, shouting about dark magics. Lautrec’s heart skipped a beat, as fear gripped him from Justin’s threat.

It took a few moments to calm himself down, during which he heard the young man next to his cell remark about the yelling. Everything was fine, his ward was complete, Justin was separated by two thick set of bars and a walking space in between. Even if he recognized that it was a ritual, if Lautrec thought about it analytically, Justin must have been yelling out of desperation. He realized that once Lautrec completes it, there’s nothing Justin can do to him, and frustration made him try and trick Lautrec to dissuade him. Like a wolf angry that the lamb is building a stone house.

Lautrec wiped away the symbols around the bowl, completing the ritual of cleansing, so that he wouldn’t bring anything evil inside his protective circle. He picked up the bowl and raised it in Justin’s direction. With a satisfied smirk he took a bite and made a show of relaxedly chewing on the muddy substance. It was best to appear confident, even if he wanted to be an actual stone wall to separate the two of them. Eating the porridge helped, as it took all of his concentration just to swallow the damned thing, helping him push his worry out of mind.

He looked at the kid next to Justin who was standing in front of her bars, and his eyes widened. She was holding some sort of shank and staring intently at him and everyone with… No, it wasn’t his imagination. She was definitely sporting a creepy smile and her eyes were keen with murderous intent. He now remembered that he saw movement from her direction while he was working. Must have been a beckoning gesture, daring Lautrec to come closer. He was thankful the two psychos were across from him and not next to his cell. There was some luck to be had after all.

Harmony considered speaking up when the guards made their short round, but it was obvious these were the kind of bored and slightly evil men that wanted to be messed with. And since she hated being locked up, it was best to bide her time. Still, one of the guards caught the part of her condescending anger in her look that she could not hide, and threw the bowl instead of putting it down as a show of dominance, half of it spilling on the floor of her cell in front of the bar it collided with. she looked at the strange discolored stuff, and suddenly knew what it was made of. Cursing her unnatural sense of danger, she quickly spit through the bars to fight off the inrush of nausea. At least this will be over soon - she was certain the audience with the king was her parents' doing (or at least influence). It was strange of them to get involved, but maybe she'd crossed some kind of invisible line by getting caught. Diplomats - go figure.

Apparently busy staring at the bowl, the short woman was roused from her thoughts by the words of the giant in the adjacent cell. He was a surprisingly smooth talker, except that last bit which completely threw her off. What was he doing? Did he know the man across the hall? Joining with him seemed like a good bet, but would it mean she'd have to fight this wizard as well?

She walked towards their common wall and put a hand on the bars. The sensation was similar to having her hand bitten off by rabid dogs, but she just shook it off. "Hey." Her voice was soft. The man's outcry was a mixture of rage and desperation, and it was the second part she could not understand. "Hey, do you knou dat man? Vat is he doing and hau do ve stop him?"

Her foot braced against the bar she was holding, as she trusted her size and strangely sharp instincts to allow her to roll away from the barrier if the giant tries to grab her through the bars.

Guillan- Sword's inn, Early Morning.

Sword's inn, the rather 'Average Class' inn where patrons can enjoy a drink. The inn has rules and policies, no bar fights. It gets the tons of visitors, good for business for a few. But very good for this thief.......

Eravon sits alone in his table drinking a bottle of ale. The inn is quite normal. Patrons drinking, scholars swapping rumors with the innkeeper and of course drunk people being throw out. The quiet would not last long. A old man wearing decent robes with two guards at his side entered the tavern. The innkeeper told his assistant to take over the counter as he offers the old man and his guards a sit. Eravon would blend with the patrons and eavesdrop.

"I did not expect such a honorable visit! Please sir tell me what you need!" The innkeeper said. As he sat down with the old man

"You deserve such one, now onto the task at hand, do you have the return letter?" The Old man said, in a polite way

"Yes sir, the boys have delivered a note. They are ready to move your daughter's items to your residence." The innkeeper replied

"Good good, What of my daughter's valuables? Are they safe and packed?" The old man questioned the innkeeper. Eravon noticed an opportunity and kept on listening

"Sir they are packed on the- well this is not a good place to discuss it. I'm sure the letter you have details it."

"Good........." The old man said as the keeper returned to his duties and the old man drinking on his table

Eravon stood up, struck to the shadow and slowly approached the back of the old man, his guards was too busy with their 'Coconut Mixed Rum'. Eravon would pickpocket the old man. He was able to grab hold and steal of a note. If his findings was right would lead him to great riches. He left the inn and outside he decides to read the note.......

((I know it is short. But wait till the next post. Which is really detailed.))

The sorcerer across the room had responded to Bark's screams with mockery and this had only began to infuriate him and make the intense howls within his head so much louder. They continued to speak for him momentarily, Justin still shouting at the top of his lungs toward the spell caster. What suitable thought in the man's head could not determine why he was doing what he did, other than the fact that he was simultaneously frightened and pissed off. The schizophrenic convict started to calm as an adjacent voice beckoned to him and soothed the voices that yelled both at and for him. He turned to face the young girl, giving a long sigh. Soon enough, it was completely quiet again, and it seems that a solid distraction was enough to smooth things over. In this case, anyway.

"I'm crazy, don't mind me", Justin let out, seemingly exhausted by his own behavior, "...I think, I think he's practicing spellwork over there. He was making weird symbols, strange movements. I saw him direct the energy over here, y'know? I think he's trying to fuck with me, I don't know! I just don't like it, I don't like him", Justin paused momentarily and looked the girl over. He hoped that this was reasonable enough explanation as to not scare her, for both reasons of common decency and how she could be particularly useful. Justin would generally feel bad if he had frightened her.

"Tis' why they call me Bark, yeah?", He simply explained, "I'm like a dog, I got good ears and eyes. I hear and see things that most people don't."

With that, Justin turned and moved toward the center of his cell. He was tired and although the thoughts moving through his mind were at a slower pace, they were very sporadic. The man removed his cloak, setting it on the floor as a ground cover of sorts. He followed this action by removing the boots from his feet and setting them aside before bringing himself to a sitting position on top of the cloak. Justin figured that he might as well get comfortable if he wasn't going to pass out just yet. With hands folded in lap, he took deep and deliberate breaths to try and focus himself, closing his eyes.

"I'm sorry, miss... uhh...", Justin proclaimed to the girl in the cell beside him in an attempt to apologize, before trailing off as he realized that he had never learned her name.

Guillan- Royal Complex Dungeons, Morning..

Y'Vanna felt the angst of her cellmate, as it matched her own. The "Loud One" was little more than a fleshy exacerbation, a mar on the already stressful predicament. She lifted a hand and it almost came to rest on Gail's shoulder as if to comfort him, but she withdrew it at the last second thinking it too forward. He had doe so much to help her with her wound, and she was grateful for it. She was grateful to have him as a friend and didn't want to come off in an awkward way. She thought it best to keep her distance. Still she shared his anxiety, their anxiety..

she stood and the throbbing returned as the blood coursing through her head pounded as she did. It was momentary, and possibly brought on by her quick action. She had taken an interest in the young sorcerer next to them.. She moved to the bars and knelt, having exhausted the length of chain between her and Gail. She placed her hands on the cold iron bars and watched as he shifted his diagrams and symbols, thinking him an odd soul to say the least. She watched for a moment before she decided to speak.

"Hello." she said softly. Her words came off as would the sound of a mother speaking to a child.

She did not wish to frighten the poor boy, and did her best to sound as soothing as possible. She knew he was odd, but she couldn't put a finger on exactly how odd or what the extent of his peculiarities. She had no intentions of eating the porridge, or was it mortar? At any rate the smell was just as disgusting and intolerable to her stomach as was the sight of it. She couldn't see how anyone would be willing to entertain the thought of actually consuming it. Her attention shifted briefly to the two opposite them as they seemed to be making some sort of alliance together. It was only a brief distraction though, and her attention soon returned to the symbol maker.

"What is your name?" she said in the same soft tone as before..

Vallec came down the stairs and crossed the threshold of the dungeons. His movements were quiet and calculated. His armor, a mixture of studded leather and fine plating was well made, and offered no sound. He moved to a bench near some barrels and out of sight to the others. He had his doubts about the party, but it mattered little.. they were on hand and would have to do. He would sit and eaves drop to see what he could learn. They had all been chosen, selected for various reasons, and each of them had been hand picked by himself, not the King. Vallec smirked at the thought of it.. The King was a bumbling buffoon in his eyes, an unfit and lenient ruler.. soft. He took his left had and began to pull off his leather gloves, one after the other, pulling meticulously at each finger. He did enjoy the fineness of his attire, as his vanity was as well known as his bite was. He had time to gain a bit of knowledge as the last of them was yet to be subdued, but would surely be on the way.

He wondered if the party had any idea as to why they were there, and not in the magistrates quarters or the Capitol complex, as would have been customary. Surely, some of them were seasoned enough criminals to have noticed this, and would have at least been curious as to why. To what the extent of their curiosity was hew could only speculate, but it hardly mattered. They were there and that was all that did in his mind.

Guillan - Royal Complex: Dungeons, Early Morning

Lautrec

The big man just kept barking for a while, be as time went on Lautrec was less and less concerned. He was exuding an air of confidence as he was finishing his meal, making sure to leave some of it. Seems the old coot have had enough and finally starting to calm down and talked some more with the shorty in the other cell. Lautrec knew it was his wards at hand, making it extra effective in Justin’s direction. It was just like facing down dogs, had to be confident and not flinch to show that they were no threat to you. Then, there was the hope of them believing the bluff, but that was a whole different story.

He scraped what remained of the grub into his hand and attempted to throw it over his shoulder behind him, as was proper, but the white mass disagreed. It stuck to his hand for dear life, and as he tried to rid of it with his other hand it just stuck to it instead. And he had eaten this? He knew he had to have an edge over these people, and since it looked like they weren’t eating their own portions, he was going to make sure to have the extra energy to burn. Now, he was starting to question the wisdom of that decision.

As he finally got the blasted thing off from his hands and onto the floor next to him, just barely missing the edge of his meticulously drawn patterns, the woman from the next cell spoke to him, signifying that she was to be his next tribulation he’d have to surpass. He turned his torso and head slightly toward her, as he started making different hand signs in thieves’ Cant.

It wasn’t the most sophisticated language, meant for simplicity and getting the point across instead of long debates with flowery words and endless meanings, but it worked well enough. If she knew the Cant, she’d understand. If not, well… That might pose some problems. Still, he didn’t want to give away his name without an exchange, so he’d force her to reveal hers first, as was customary. The power of a name was immense, after all.

Market District,Gulian Early Morning

An opportunity rise...

Eravon stepped out of the building and into a nearby wooden bench. He pulls out the letter from his pack which is folded. He unfolds it and starts to read it. He also notices that the quality of paper is of... Nobility. It is also fairly small.

To my daughter, Caroline Ironwood

I have been informed that you seek to move to my residence, I understand that it is hard leaving your mother's manor but we must move on..
Before i was notified of your choice i have sent 50,000 gold coins to your residence as a gift for your birthday. Know that i have ordered my men to pack it. It is on a lockbox which is inside a crate. I have manners to attend to so your belongings will be delivered to my residence late. four men are guarding your manor while the rest packs your items. Say goodbye to the upper districts. And i know you will miss a few friends, I heard you have a friend from the general store named 'Farry Warres' near your manor. You can visit them anytime.

-Benjamin Ironwood, your father

Eravon smiled as he placed the letter back to his pack. 50,000 gold coins? He can buy a fancier and more sharper dagger. Add plating to hid attire. But first he must find the manor. The note states 'Farry Wares' a general store near the manor. He is suprised to see a store in the upper districts. But it understandable. He stood up and walked to the upper district.

Upper District,Gulian Early Morning

Eravon arrived at the upper district he looked around a found a few people he might ask he approached 2 folks he approached them and took a deep breath. He 'Prepared his tongue' as he is looking to spring a lie but maybe he can eavesdrop. But this is not like the tavern. These people might suspect Eravon. So he had to investigate. But he is not the man at doing this. But 50,000? He can learn by paying others to teach him. He looked around the small 'plaza'. He investigated, but sadly he found nothing.((You failed me dice!)) So back to the drawing board for him. He approached a trader loading crates to his wagon.

"Hello there! Do you know where Farry Wares is?" Eravon asked the man

"Aye good sir, he is not getting any coin lately though. You can find him by going right of that little side passage there." The man replied

"Thank you... sir." Eravon replied. He is not very noble but hey pickpocketing nobles taught him something.

Eravon arrived at the general store. The doors and windows was covered with curtains and wooden boards. Though at the distance he saw four men. The letter said four men guarding the manor so he quickly rushed to the four men. As he approached. One of the guards a rather fat man holding a war axe came close

"Private property lad! Move on! Go!... Shoo!" The men said angrily

Eravon looked around and noticed that the buildings can lead him inside the manor so he rushed to an ally nearby the manor. He checked if nobody was watching the climbed the buildings. Eravon had a hard time climbing but he managed to scale the buildings at a average pace. He scaled until he reached the area near the manor. He jumped landing on a window, entering without being noticed. He sneaked to the stairs but a piece of the floor he was standing on broke. He quickly rushed towards a crate and hides inside but he noticed two of the guards investigated the small collapsed part.

"Place must be really old..." One of the guard said

"No,no somebody was here,,,,," the guard replied

"Oh come on nobody can sneak here, we guard the property." The guard replied with a rather 'smart' tone

"Then ghosts??" The man said with a rather afraid tone

"Look the place is 70 years old. Now come on!"

The two guards left.

Edon was then able to reach the office. He noticed a crate with mark saying "Special" He quickly rushed towards it.

Guillan, Royal Complex Dungeons- Morning

Y'Vanna was bewildered by the gestures and hand signals the young blonde fellow had been so adept in displaying. She didn't quite know what to make of it all, and she hoped this wizard wasn't vexing her in some form or other.. He was definitely an odd one, as she had already established. No matter though. It was only them in the dark and dismal chambers and one thing was clear.. the guards were surely not going to be on their side of things, so she thought it best to pursue an accord with whomever she could in the midst of things current. She would make the best of it, and would try to sort something out with what was on hand. She was quite good at this sort of thing, and most of her life, at least lately, had been exactly like this so it had become fairly normal for her to have to scrape something from nothing.

"I'm Y'Vanna" she said, again in a very warm tone. She extended a few of her fingers through the iron bars as if to offer a friendly welcome to him. "But my friends, well.. they call me V."

She offered a warm smile as well, though it was surely awkward as she had realized the state of his own hands, still a bit sticky from the goo like meal. It was still a smile though, and she presented as best, and as least awkwardly as she could. Her eyes were very inviting. If there was one thing about her that was indeed taking, it was her eyes. They were either as cold as the ice shards that clung to the rocky crags of the mountain sides, or as warm and buttery as a dogs begging for scrap from it's master. These she bore now were of the latter. She seemed as rugged as she could on the outside, at least this is what she offered to most, but there were a few who brought out the warmth in her. She was a fair judge of character, and though this one was odd, he was surely decent, at least for a criminal.

She doubted that she could say the same about the loud one, which to her relief had now all but subdued himself. She had seen this sort of behavior before, and judging by the sweat he rendered she also knew it's cause. It was not like she had been spared the onset of the shakes or the sweats that came along with the dust. No, she was all too accustomed to that herself. She did her best to maintain her habit on a healthy level as to avoid this very thing, though it was not to say that it had not happened to her on occasion. Her willpower on such matters was iffy at best. She knew that Gail would also be glad that he had quieted himself as well. The motley bunch would surely have to pull together, and as it was, none of them seemed to have a choice in the matter.

Her attention remained with the odd fellow and she did her best to not stare at the markings on the floor. For all she knew he was some sort of sorcerer, as she knew little of magic. Though she did know that going against one, even in the slightest of ways often didn't bode well. Even still, Y'Vanna was not the type to back down from anything. She took her other hand and pointed at her chest..

"I'm V.." she said, smiling as before.

Gullian, Upper district- Caroline's manor. Near-Noon

Eravon walked towards the crate. The office was mostly packed. Before he tried to pick the lock he did something. He saw a crate with a mark "Weapons". But then it was revealed that it was just stone attached to sticks, clubs. So he goes back to the crate and picks the lock. He inserts the main pick then the side pick. He managed to pick and break the lock, thus the crate was open. He pulls out a white parcel which contains the money. He grabs it and puts it in his bag, he also grabs a small note. As it may contain information. It also has the 'Noblity Quality' which may lead him to great riches.

Eravon saw that the office window would not lead him to building rooptops so he decides to go back the way he came. He went down the stairs but then he saw something of great danger. One of the guards was standing by the window the window.

"Not this time ghost..." The guard said as he loads his musket but unaware of Eravon's presence.

Eravon loads ammunition to his flintlock,he aims, while still at a corner. He takes a deep breath then fires. The shot was a little rusty but Eravon shot the guard. As the guard dropped down the sound of the flintlock alerted the whole building. He rushed toward the window and landed at another building's roof. He ran, he was running towards the direction of the docks. He approached a bridge, which is connecting two building. As he stepped it collapsed causing Eravon to fall

Caught.

Eravon was a little hurt, a few small yet not deep wounds and cuts as he was hit by tons of projectiles.
As Eravon fell he was surrounded by 20 guards. Armed with muskets, swords, flintlocks. The old man 'Benjamin Ironwood' arrived. Eravon rushed towards the old man but was stopped by a guard who punched him in the face. Another approached and pushed him, followed by a kick. His visions slowly blurs as the old man spoke.

"Did you think that i did not notice that the note was missing?" The old man said slowly clapping

"Send him to the Royal Complex and throw him in a random cell!" The old man commanded his guards

Two men approached the now injured Eravon and 'Escorted' him to the dungeons, but he was pushed in a carriage to make things easier of course. Also the parcel was returned to the manor, but the note was not.

Royal Complex, Dungeons- Near noon (11:30)

"A sick place where sick people go"

The pair of guards stopped before going down to the dungeons, one of the man approached Eravon's pack and 'Confiscates' his remaining ammunition, including his dagger. And his flintlock. They placed it on a small chest as they pushed Eravon towards the dungeon. The guards looked around and picked the one nearest to the stairs ((Across V's and Gail's cell}}. They pushed Eravon inside, as he was pushed Eravon stood up and rattled the cell door.

"Let me out of here!" Eravon said as he rattled the cell door again

He experienced another of those 'Psychotic Rages'. Hallucinations appeared, spikes surrounding the room. But Eravon was used to this feeling. He investigated to see if there is something he can use to escape. He finds nothing, there may be some but he in a mode where he cannot think properly. He hurts himself a little when he tries to crumble the walls. He sits on the corner trying to calm down...

Harmony turned towards the bars and narrowed her eyes at the would be sorcerer. She tried to decipher his actions, but only half-heartedly - this Bark's words sounded nothing more than a strangely timed attempt to assert dominance. She couldn't ignore how weird it was, however, since he was so polite to her. He had no reason to. And yes, she wasn't as much of a threat, and may even look useful for some kind of hostage situation, but try as she might she just could not make sense of it all.

She turned back to the obviously unsettled giant, now sitting on the floor in a meditative stance. Maybe he was sick. "Harmony Titanfoot." She said with unmasked pride, in a way a noble might introduce themselves, to their peers. "Call me Harm." Her family name was strangely exotic, as well as her accent, which showed in her pronunciation from time to time. Just as she was gathering the mental will to ask him about his 'seeing things other people don't', the guards dragged in another man. This one looked like a professional burglar, and save for Bark seemed to take his new situation the hardest. The guards' typical, mildly violent response eventually got him into his cell, where he proceeded to attack the walls for no effect. She never expected the Royal Dungeon's inhabitants to be so colorful, but then again, where else would you find these people?

It suddenly hit the young woman that this whole situation may take a while to unravel. She had to conserve her strength, much like her giant accomplice. In a much less theatrical fashion, she walked back to her bench and laid down, adjusting her location so the dripping doesn't hit her face.

"Sorry to be blunt, Bark, but I really don't have any other vay to ask - Do you see things that aren't there? Is the 'sorcerer' you're talking about the same guy I'm seeing in the cell across?"

Lautrec

Lautrec was both surprised and pleased that his message was understood. This meant that there was at least someone who understood the basic thieves’ cant signals, which were universal in their meaning. He decided to take a closer look at the woman’s features after she introduced herself, taking a moment to stare into her eyes. As he did so, he found himself being drawn in, as the warmth they were exuding caught him off-guard. Blood seemed to rush to his ears as he was mesmerized by her gaze.

This lasted for a long moment, the moment broken as she once again said she was called “V”. With the spell broken, reality rushed back as Lautrec remembered where he was and who he was surrounded by. That was possibly too close, he almost let his guard down and reached to take her hand stretched through the bars. He shuddered to think what could have happened, had he fallen for the likely trap. Nevertheless, a deal was a deal and dishonoring it would tarnish his name, which in turn he proceeded to write.

The dusty floor of the dungeon serving as the canvas, he painted his name upside down so she could read it better, and with a flick of his wrist, summoned Willow to illuminate it in a small glow. As he did so, he this time tapped his chest with a palm, indicating that the name was his. When he made certain that she read it, he took a hand and wiped the name away, after which he made a show of grabbing Willow and snuffing out her light. No need to let them know she was intangible after all.

It seemed like Lautrec made the right call, as guards soon after escorted in another fellow, who seemed much more violent than even Bark. At least he was slightly insane, in a methodical way, but this new prisoner seemed completely out of it. Lautrec didn’t want to look, but from the sounds of it the man tried to claw his way out through the walls. Apparently, it didn’t work as he did not hear any bending or stones collapsing. With a sigh and a shake of his head, he looked back into V’s eyes and made some more hand signals finishing with a nod in Gail's direction.

Y'Vanna shook at the clamoring of yet another group of guards bringing in another prisoner. She turned away from Lautrec for a moment as the noise had startled her. The sounds from the water falling from the ceiling into small pools had all but been forgotten, and accepted as the norm. Boy was this place filling up she thought to herself. The stench of the porridge and the dank, stagnant water would still take a bit of getting used to, not that she wanted to grow accustomed to any of it, but she had in her past already began this process to some extent.
She heard the iron door close with a loud clang and the keys twisting in the lock as the guards began to make their ascent back up the stairs at the end of the hall, and returned her gaze to Lautrec after their laughter and dialogue subsided. She placed her hands back on the bars as if to brace herself from the reality of the worsening situation. She watched as he made several more hand signals, of which she understood absolutely nothing. She did however notice the head nod and that seemingly was understandable at least to some extent, or so she thought. She smiled again, very soft and inviting and turned her head in Gail's direction as well, as if to acknowledge the fellow and his inquiry.

"Oh, him, yes.. That's Gail, a friend of mine.." She smiled as she mentioned him and returned her eyes to Lautrec "He's very nice.. you'll see." she said.

She turned back in Gail's direction and placed a hand on his ankle as if to wake him gently. He had been through so much that she didn't want to startle him or grieve him any further. "Gail.. pssst.. Gail.." she spoke gently, her tone very low and hardly more than audible.

She was still very thankful for what he had done for her. She still couldn't entirely believe that it had actually happened, and that perhaps it had been some delusion from her head injuries. She brushed her hand across the area where her wounds were again, just to be sure

Eravon noticed how everyone was going along, the stench littered the room as if it is a new sort of air. Eravon eavesdrops, maybe someone found an escape route. Though he does not believe that these people are getting along pretty quickly. He managed to calm down by breathing heavily for a few moments. Then he stood up and looked around, he got enough information well at least he thinks he has. someone was named Bark however Eravon did not notice who in the group had that name. However a few things come to his mind. If these people did converse long before he arrived he might be able to join in their plans. However talking to people is not his number one thing. Maybe scaring people? Well no matter what his arrival must have alerted these people that he is not a typical human being. So if they wanna think like that, then so be it! But maybe try too control it a little.

He approached the cell door and spoke. "How could you all be calm when we are closing to our death!" He said as he rattles his cell door again.

He then slowly sat on front of the cell door.

Gail and Lautrec

Who exactly is she talking to? Gail wondered as he lay there, before another commotion happened as someone somehow crazier than Mr. Big Yell-ey got tossed into the cell across from them. I suppose the gods have decided against me getting relief from this headache, he thought as he propped himself up on his elbow, watching Y'Vanna be very confused by their neighbor. Gail was surprised by this - he had expected that she would have known the thieves’ Cant. But then again, she was new to the area. Wisely, she moved to get him, seemingly not noticing that he had moved to be more upright since the last time she had looked over. She tapped at his ankle before realizing he had been watching them already.

"You don't understand the Cant - er - his hand signals?" he asked, whispering in response to her whispering without noticing. Getting a nod in return, he got up slowly, holding his hand to his head for a moment before moving into Gullian's vision. "I do." he finished, turning to the mute man, moving his arm in a rolling motion.

Lautrec watched cautiously as the man next to V got up and walked into sight in case he'd try anything unexpected. Luckily, all he seemed to want was communicate, and Lautrec was more than happy to oblige with that. With quick but noticeable hand-movements he repeated the question, this time addressing the man.

It was a simple enough question, but one that brought the guilt back - and the confusion. Why was he in this prison - why did they care so much about his drug dealings all of a sudden - why had he started them in the first place? most of what he wanted to say was hard to articulate with the cant, or really with any language, but he could at least bring the point across. As for why this man wanted to know, he could only guess. No reason for him to not, if it made a friend.

It took some time for Lautrec to process the rapid hand signals they were using to communicate, and to adjust to the fact that the man started using more complex ones to express things more accurately. He did not recognize the first bit, must have been some kind of special signal that was unique to him, but it was hard to tell. He did understand the rest though, and cursed himself for not paying a closer attention to his body language to tell whether he was lying. For now he decided that he could believe their circumstances as it matched their images, so Lautrec would proceed with a healthy trusting caution. He once again bent down to draw his own name on the dusty floor, and willed Willow to come out of her plane of existence, so the man could see better.

L...a...u...t...r...e...c, the man wrote in the dust, as he then conjured a ball of light. Interesting... Gail thought, observing the spectacle. He is...trying to impress me? He wondered, unsure as to why else the man would be showing off a rare skill. Gail was unimpressed, this a simple bauble compared to his own potions, but was able to conceal his mild distaste at Lautrec showing off. He wondered what exactly caused Lautrec to not be able to talk, but elected to not bother him until they knew each other better.
