@Kazemitsu: Er... I am... Fairly certain that your character would not mesh well with the main cast of PCs. Maybe in the world as a whole, but definitely not as a force anyone here would want to be associated with. At all. Going to have to decline him since a character so deeply rooted in that mindset would be removed... More or less ASAP if he wasn't chucked at the humans since he's way too dangerous to keep around.
(Also the fact that it's difficult to parse what you're saying since the language used in the bio is far more informal than it should be, as well as being very disjointed on top of that, but I digress.)

@Crimson Paladin: Looks fine, though that random pound sign in the middle there should be... Fixed.
Anyways, you're fine to swap the characters out now, yes.

Hey, just wanna drop it to say that I'm really interested in this. It's still gonna go, right? I'm making a character right now but I'll probably finish it sometime later when it isn't nearly midnight and my mind isn't in dire need of sleep.

Name: Ono
Appearance: "WAAAAARGH HA HA HA!"
Gender: Female
Race: Half-Orc
Age: 20

Personality: Gruff, aggressive, but boisterous enough to make company with like-minded warriors. She has a short fuse that makes her act rashly easily, but at the same time she's also rather easy to befriend should you treat her kindly or if she takes a fancy to you. She prides herself on her simple pleasures: she believes that complicated motivations just muddle your true desires, and endorses that people just admit to their base desires rather than trying to make up complicated aspirations. Never one to take no for an answer one Ono learns about a problem she makes sure to deal with it herself, more so if people talk to her about it. She'd never get involved in something she couldn't handle (And she believes she's capable of much more than she really is). There is one weakness she hides much of the time however, and it's that she is at her very core, a romantic. She hopes that one thing things really could become peaceful, where people like her and humans could get along. She denies this knowing that it would be a long and bloody future before that would ever happen, but deep in the back of her mind she'd want nothing more than to make friends with the ones who try to hurt her.

Abilities: Ono is a warrior through and through. While others would rely on magical trickery to bolster their physical abilities, Ono simply is as strong and tough as they are without any magic beyond being born an half-orc. It does have a bit of a double-edge however, as her own incredible strength and resistances also means that she herself is horribly inept at magecraft. While she can utilize magic items just fine, her own ability to produce mana is abysmal, in exchange she can easily absorb magic attacks or energies directed at her. Her magic absorption is so powerful in fact she could sunder spells with mundane weapons if she had to. Should Ono truly be in some dire situation, she can tap into a primal fury that increases her strength and endurance, at the price of making her loose her higher level thinking and only able to fight instinctively. While she has enough cunning to still be able to be a tricky foe, in this rage her short-sight could be the end of her and anyone who stands in her way would be remorselessly cut down, be it friend, foe, or innocents.

As for personal abilities, Ono is a strong but relatively untrained warrior. While she can ensure that the pointy of a most weapons land into her enemy, her reliance on simple brute strength makes her have to rely on weapons equally strong and brutal. That's not to say that Ono is unskilled; she knows how to effectively utilize her strength for maximum effectiveness without any flowery technique or maneuvers. She strength lies precisely in her simplicity; instead of trying to maneuver around a blade or guard, she simply smashes through it. Ono is also quite durable even without armor, to the point that armor itself is rather meaningless to her aside from fashion. Of course considering some of the foes they face, who are either usually monstrously strong enough to tear through steel plate or use magic that simply bypasses it all together, Ono's durability isn't entirely unusual. Still, she can block blades with her bare forearm if needed.

Lastly, Ono specializes as a mage hunter and speed killer. She lulls her enemies into a false sense of security by using a heavy axe and fighting somewhat sluggishly, using powerful but predictable swings to let them think they can out speed her. But in truth she can match their speed quite easily, as her stats aren't in endurance and strength, but endurance and speed. Once her enemies get close or think they have the upper hand, she'd catch them off guard and either remove their mobility or shut down their magic before going in for the kill.

Equipment:

Ono - It's a bit of a mystery if Ono was named after the axe or the girl. Either way both share the same name. There's nothing particularly unique or magical about the axe aside from it's unusual balance; most would expect the weapon to be very top heavy as befitting for a two-handed axe, but it's oddly weighted in such a way that Ono could easily handle it with one hand, switching between a one-handed or two-handed grip depending on the flow of battle.

Spiked Shield - A simple spiked shield made of darken steel and oak wood. Ono actually made this shield herself and cherishes it. She personally favors the shield as a personal weapon over an axe or blade, quoting it's ability to both protect and attack in the same action. She intends to put a metal plate on it to make it more sturdy, though she enjoys catching her opponent's blades through the shield, disarming them, and then bashing them to death.

Kukri - A weapon that Ono had since she was a little girl. This knife is good for cutting through brush, flesh and bones, and even light chain mail if it came to it. Light enough for agile maneuvers but sturdy enough for brute force chopping, Ono is just as capable of using this knife as she is with any other weapon.

History: There's no real history to Ono; she was born the bastard child of an orc and human. She never learned who was the mother or father, as she was abandoned in the woods shortly after her birth. It was only by a stroke of miracle that she was later found by a witch who had given up her humanity who raised her. The witch was motherly enough, even if she did experiment on the child and never bothered to name her. Ono herself made up her name when she was a young woman. She was fetching wood for her home when she was attacked by some brigands. They seemed hungry and desperate, and Ono slew them with ease. She took the axe from one of them, naming herself after the blade. Ono trained with the axe, started hunting, and eventually left home. She has no great stake in worldly events, and is only somewhat aware of them through their interactions with her. No matter. She would enjoy her life as it was, for better or for worse, and seek honor and glory wherever she may find it.

Other:
Ono is quite a talented lumberjack and woodcarver. She can make some beautiful thing with a log, a knife, and some time. She's also quite a talented drummer.

  • Name: Violette the Unconquered
  • Appearance: She's actually pretty tall despite her appearance, edging close to nine feet when unarmoured and getting just over it when she is.

  • Gender: Female
  • Race: Mongrel. That is, she isn't some specific type of demon that happens to have such a name, she's rather a mess of many different lineages--maybe even a little bit of human in there. Her appearance, for instance, takes after many of the fairer of demon kind--no doubt helped by the regular appearance of succubi and incubi in the patchwork mess of Violette's family tree. Of course, whilst it's yielded a surprising combination of benefits, there's obvious downsides... you'd struggle to find someone less magical in the entire world. Then, of course, her strength has its own flaws...
  • Age: 28
  • Personality: Contrary to her intimidating reputation and size, the demon knight is quite shy and timid--if caught out of her armour, she's more likely to blush or stutter than be loud and boisterous. Whilst she might act cool and reserved, it's because she has no idea how to really start a conversation with someone else and there's a good chance that she'll just get stuck with unnerving hero worship. Fittingly with this sort of attitude, she's extremely gentle--though for her own sake as much as whatever she's handling. Quite a fan of cute things.
Though if someone were to threaten her home or friends...
  • Abilities: Although Violette is properly trained in normal combat, she scarcely needs it against most opponents. Why? She's terrifyingly strong, having a level of strength normally possessed by great lumbering beasts hardly known for their intellect than an intelligent opponent. A single swipe of her axe is enough to smash any humans that happen to be in the path aside if they aren't cut through entirely. She also heals quickly, though not to the level of regeneration, and without scars... which is useful, because if she actually exerts herself in any way without some form of protection, her bones and muscles will break from the strain: she might have all the strength needed, but she's definitely not tough enough to apply it unaided without taking things incredibly slowly.
She's not too good at most things, being on the whole far too large for delicate work, so outside of combat she's basically a layabout by trade.
  • Equipment: Her armour, shield, and axe do exactly what you would expect of such things: they endure and cut. However, on top of this, the armour is enchanted to serve a far more useful purpose on the battlefield. It reinforces her body, allowing her to put her full strength to use without the immediate negative repercussions and with the benefit of dampening any pain from strain or overexertion. The downside, of course, is that this sort of armour gets really hot and it can't stop Violette from tiring like anybody else would.
  • History: It's safe to say that Violette is from lands that aren't even part of Tsukran--or, rather, whether they are depends entirely on who you might ask. To some, she hails from the westernmost reaches of Maharauva; to others, that means she comes from human lands by technicality--mostly humans think that last one. Nevertheless, there's a distinct lack of concern about good breeding and racial purity so far away from political centres, as life is bound to be short and there's a good chance that you might have to entirely uproot yourself when the fighting starts. Besides, when there's the occasional intermixing between human and demon, who has time to care about small things? Particularly when it's the number one place for total political exiles to hide out.
It is unavoidable that when a ceasefire ends, many of those living in such a place form the first victims of the conflict and the first to find themselves winding up in the armies. So it was for Violette, who chose to join the soldiers to help buy the rest of her village time to get away unmolested. Like anyone untrained and unarmoured in combat, it was a miracle that she could survive the first few fights, even with injuries--until her superiors took note that one of their larger soldiers seemed to even manage to be injured in practice, whereupon they hatched upon the idea to create a symbol to rally around... as well as a useful battlefield presence.
The results, needless to say, worked. Whilst Violette by no means represented a major shift in power, she became far more useful armoured... and the aim to create a symbol worked. By deploying in support of her fellow soldiers and not alone, the humans never got the chance to swamp her in numbers and get in the blow needed to bring her down, and even when a battle was lost she was able to help with the retreat, creating a reputation as an invincible warrior sure to save those she fights with.
Her presence in Avici is a simple one: she heard those of her village that avoided the fighting have migrated south and east, further and further away from the frontlines, and she wishes to meet them again.

@Kazemitsu: No, no, I'm in agreement with Vita here. Indiscriminate killing of people to consume their souls in an everlasting search for strength is... Pretty evil. Preeeeetty evil.

@Pseudo Stygian: Okay, so uh... I think the biggest issues with the character is that there is no defined weakness in terms of combat by non-magical/non-enhanced means. Not being able to be harmed by regular means is a bit of an issue.
Also the whole hawk mentality and wanting perpetual warfare runs... Pretty counter to the mentality of the group, all things considered. I get that the last paragraph mentions that he's contemplating the issue from another angle, but if your entire life revolves around being fascinated with war, I don't see it likely from a character-based viewpoint for them to change on a whim like that.

@Lucius Cypher: Ah... Should be fine. Accepted.

@Raineh Daze: Discussed elsewhere. Accepted.

Ah yeah, I was worried about those points myself. Here's him modified somewhat. I guess he still got no physical weakness, but he's also practically useless in combat, so hopefully that balances out?

Wahaha, projects and papers and work galore! Okay, I guess I should review this stuff.

@Pseudo Stygian: Er... Well, Better, but 'no moral compass except for this one thing' still feels weird to deal with, but if that's fiddled with I think he should be fine. He needs more 'direction', so to speak.

@Kazemitsu: Answer is not accepted because of inherent character flaws that can't be rectified as things stand, regardless of what position you're trying to take is. The way the character is written makes it feel as if they'll tend towards harvesting souls like a farmer harvests his crops, and that's not someone the main cast here would want to associate with, honestly.

In any case... Will start... In the next few days, hopefully. Goddamn finals hitting me out of nowhere with a giant baseball bat to the head.

@PKMNB0Y He can only hold so much lifeforce/souls without actually using it for something. Which is why he tends towards having it go towards regeneration. He's not inherently evil despite his ability of eating you, just self serving unless someone earns his respect -shrugs- but if he's not accepted, he's not accepted. Not gonna push it o3o
