"The situation has changed beyond our current understanding. You can't expect me to let you go off to the Black Glacier on your own- and before you say it, no the Demon does not count."

Aww. That was a cute line.

@OppositionJ @deathbringer As for the horses, I’m thinking that Lanostran horses are incredibly hardy beasts and natives use them to ride down the mountain. Does that sound cool to you guys?

Sounds pretty Lanostran.

@Lovejoy it impairs cognitive function and motor skills, so probably yes.

And now I imagine the first time Ziotea gets tipsy she ends up making her glass explode. Or her neighbor's glass. or the table.

like anything mental, if you focus hard enough it'll still work, but you'd better remember to focus :P

Since we're talking drunk things, it is entirely possible that Oren'll start seeing two of everyone, and you'll start seeing two or more of him. Also, things might start floating.

I hope my post is good enough to make up for the lateness. Sorry I forgot about it being my turn, and then it took a while because the dog was being needy and hates my laptop.

@ScoutIt's cool! Great post, either way! I think after my next reply we'll be done with this conversation and can go back to Viveca exploring the catacombs.

I get back home early tomorrow so will be working on a lot of writing. Expect some replies!

I don't expect a Word of God answer, but I do really wonder about how time works in this setting. I mean, Ilya's plans are going to have to revolve around both the idea that he can change the future, and that the scene he saw is impossible to avoid. Is our annihilation, to the point in this rendition of the future, also a certainty? On the other hand, these seem like decidedly different ways of peering into the future. Or rather, peering vs. experiencing. (Then again, can any of the Gods even "see" the future? Surely that would've made the Titans' fight endless or futile. Perhaps my vision is simply a projection based on what Varya knows?)

@Draken You mean Creid? OH wait, you don't mean Creid. You mean Ilya's vision. Well...I guess it depends on how he interprets it. For example, Ziotea took her own vision to be confirmation of something she already believes: that she is a born destroyer. Granted, she's got a lot of circumstantial evidence, but that doesn't make it true. And yes, she interprets some of the aspects of her vision in a symbolic way -- a wave of fire perhaps not meaning actual fire but merely destruction or death -- because it lends itself to that, and Ilya's encourages a more direct interpretation. He doesn't seem the sort to accept that the future is set in stone, though. Either there's something about the scene he's misinterpreting from lack of data, or it's a warning and not a promise. Or that's how I'd look at it.

Also nice MewToo. <3
