@Abefroeman Their willingness to allow exceptions would most likely depend on the ability of the person in question to defy their will. Seeing as the royal family do indeed have dragons once more, a member of the royal family would conceivably have the best chance of managing to get away with it. After all, at the end of the day, in Game of Thrones the law boils down to who has the most power to back them up. Even still, it would cause a really big kerfuffle.

Of course, who knows, maybe that's what the whole civil war may start over.

Thinking about Tamsyn over a time skip; I guess she would go her own way after her arrangement with Aemond is completed and she has a boatload of money. Between what Aemon knows about her and his suspicions I suspect he could probably work out who she is with a little help from some maesters.

Ok everyone, I've thought a bit on what would transpire in the year timeskip, mostly in relation to NPCs and larger events. I'll have a write up of the interim period sometime this week. I'll also use this opportunity to retcon some elements of the in-game canon, such as my mistake in making the magical elements too much like a traditional fantasy. There will still be magic but as a whole, magic will be of a more shadowy and mysterious force, even if it is somewhat more common than in the series proper. Magic has returned to the world, but it is still not truly understood or trusted. There will also be some other canon alterations but these would be mostly minor and of the lore variety, and no changes would severely alter events that the players have already taken part in or set in motion.

You guys can pitch in with where you think your characters are based on this upcoming write-up and if you want to alter some elements of your character as part of this overhaul, I'll consider that as well.

Once this write-up goes up, I'll start working on the first post set a year from the in-game present, but you guys can still work on scenes from the intervening year as flashbacks if you wish. I could also take part in these flashbacks if you need me. A lot of the more minor revolts will have been resolved by now, but some won't be. The main thrust of the plot will now move to a more widespread, civil conflict that will allow for much for political scheming and will probably test the friendships and bonds that have been made between the players now. I also encourage people to make sheets for some of the Great Houses if they wish too. Stark, Baratheon, Martell, and Greyjoy are all unclaimed. High houses like the Tarlys, Umbers, or Royces are encouraged as well. And I would be willing to hand over the Lannisters if someone is interested.

If anyone wants a hint as to what this conflict will involve, I will say that it may not come to open arms depending on how the players act, but it will be quite serious and risks dividing the realm and many great families besides in half.

Sounds good. There's a few things that actually can develop through those few months, so that should be interesting :)

I'm having a hard time feeling this rp now, tbh, and I'm fairly sure retracting my chars isn't going to affect anything. I'm still thinking on it, but I'm unsure if I want to rp. I know Layali will be cast off at the very least. As for Taria... hm. It's hard to say.

@Greenie Well if you're not feeling it, you're not feeling it. If you feel like you need to, you can take more of a break. But it'd be nice to have you back in things.

How did your NaNoWriMo go anyway?

On a side note, I should have that write up finished either tonight or tomorrow.

It went well enough, thanks for asking! It may have drained me of all my writing juices though >.> But I did get the rough draft of the first book of a (probably) trilogy done.

As for the RP, I'll probably give Taria another try. ;w; I like her a little too much to throw away.

Edited the main page to reflect changes in the backstory and the new events.

Here is a brief summary of events in the interim period, but of course more has gone on besides. Chime in with your thoughts please.

@kingkonrad Dependent upon the rewards given to Ser Aerion, would Amber still be unmarried, or would she have been battered off during the duration of hostilities in the Stepstones?

@MrDidact Also, great update so to speak.

Well, they depend on some players but here's some snippet I am thinking of.

-House Florent's main family was hit particulary hard that year. Colin Florent passed away due to tainted food, Ser Merrell died in the Dorne campaign after so much heroic fighting. Irise Florent, Alester's younger sister, died in the hands of Gardener rebels. Mella Florent openly defied the current lord, Alester Florent, and has been imprisoned in a tower ever since (some say he intends to unload her into some lord in marriage). It is said that something -broke- inside Alester's mind. Whether it was patience or sanity, remains to be seen. His handling of Reach politics, warfare and the current campaing have been noticed, and people are starting to know his name...and dread him as The Black Fox. Some already say it's the fox version of Tywin Lannister (Due to the fact he has more or less singlehandedly restored a lot of lost prestige to House Florent). (Wether the marriage to Alys Tyrell was made or no remains to be seen).

-Seran was knighted and he and Lysara have made public their bastard ancestry. Adopting the tile of Seastar, in honor to the ancestor that was part of the bloodline, he now goes by Seran Seastar. (I have yet to think of Lysara's fate, tho).

@AtomicNut That seems plausible for House Florent, save for the death of Alester's sister. If she died, then Ser Owen would definitely be dead and he has a role to play yet. It'd also be somewhat unlikely for the Gardeners to get to her if she's under Tyrell protection and the insurgents may be rebels but are still playing the whole thing reasonably chivalrous. Killing a young hostage would go against their whole honorable rebel image.

Heh, well, that is probably the only way to make Alester even more spiteful of the world at large... Literally the last tether he has. Maybe I can arrange an accident instead.

Not sure. I'm toying with the idea that she did get married off, but in classic Amber fashion, cheats a little. Which leads to some serious beef, as she may still have some forbidden-love feelings shall we say :P

@AtomicNut@AtomicNut

I think the Reach might be an interesting site for an insergency. No doubt that the marriage of Alerie/Tom would be quite interesting/intricate indeed, and some of her plans may be yielding returns.

I want to see if I can push Ellion towards a Kingsguard position- perhaps something to kinda take his mind off of scouting/duelling/jousting that Alerie wants him to be in.

I think in House Tyrell itself, I'll create the CS for Alys, as well as that of the two children (very light, so descriptors really) for Merlin's kids. Willas is still on the Council as per same, Merlin rules at home, Garlan is bitter at the marriage but just accepts it and well, has to work with his Lannister counterparts which is entertaining.

I reckon Taria would probably have stuck around King's Landing for a bit before heading back North for a while maybe even visit the wall, spend some time with her father.

Alrighty then boss man!!!!! @MrDidact Here goes nothin!

- Lady Lyvia Clegane: Lyvia fought valiantly during the Stepstone's campaign, but ultimately fell in combat saving Seran "Seastar" from the vicious blow of none other than the Exile Kraken himself. She died a few hours later, the wounds too severe to be stabilized. She laughed heartily at the end, handing her sword and shield to Seran, with her final words being, "Hopefully they will do you more good than they did for me. Find yourself a nice lady, and make lots of babies you slack jawed daffodil, name one after me, and let her know who her auntie was. Now buzz off, and let me die in peace." With that, Lyvia passed from the world of the living into the Stone Doors of the beyond.

- Ser Uther Tattershall: Killed in combat during the siege of Vulture's Roost. His remains were recovered, and buried with full honors at the ruined keep's graveyard. His headstone read "Both time and distance mean nothing, all that remains in honor and loyalty."

- Lord Lorimer Lefford and family: He has decided to help the Reyne rebel's reclaim their lost rightful lands, though in a manner in which to hopefully not draw suspicion. He has begun to secretly funnel funds and resources to the Reyne cause, led by Lord Roger Reyne. Lord Lefford, and by extension his Lady wife, have passed intelligence to the rebels concerning troop movements, supply caravans, and so on, in order to help the rebels. Lord Lorimer made it a point to keep this an honorable rebellion, and that he would play no part in any violence against small folk, nor would he kill any prisoners, if said individuals were to be detained in his castle grounds. ((@MrDidact If there is anything you want to add to this, please do.))

-Ser Aerion Goldfyre: Aerion fought with honor and distinction during the Stepstone's rebellion. He killed his fair share of enemy combatants, even a few middle ranking pirate lords and captains, along with playing an integral role in brokering the surrender of two entire enemy garrisons, saving countless lives of loyalist forces from having to storm the walls. These captured pirates, rebels, and sellswords were given the choice, lose their heads, or be sent to the wall. Most chose to serve out their lives at the wall. Aerion helped save the life of Crown Prince Aemon and Prince Viserys during the climactic final battle of the war. Aerion stressed to his superiors that it was not him alone that defended the Targaryen prince's, that it was a joint effort of Ser Ellion, Seran "Seastar", and Lady Taria Greyjoy. ((Others perhaps included?)) Aerion remained in the Stepstones for two more months aiding in the clean-up operations, rooting out the last fractured pockets of resistance, pirates and diehards who refused to flee their fallen fiefdoms, and most fought to the bitter end.

Upon his return to King's Landing, Aerion delivered the collected swords of what appeared to be well over three hundred pirate, sellsword, and rebel officers, a gift to the Iron Throne itself. He then bent the knee before the King and Queen, swearing fealty to House Targaryen, from now till the end of times. Aerion's rewards for his service included the following: ((@MrDidact up to you to decide what Ser Aerion would be granted/gifted/earned for his service. Aerion has ambition to become a lord in Westeros proper, with the possibility for favorable marriage's to a powerful house. He would inquire into the fate of his dragon egg, and whether he would be allowed to keep it. [If allowed to keep said egg, would it have hatched, or does it remain dormant?] All up to you glorious GM))

Thats all I got for now...
