The series actually has proper honest magic and alchemy come third season but wielded not by the symphogear users but by Alchemists.

Well yeah there is that Arthur C. Clarke's third law "Any sufficiently advanced technology is indistinguishable from magic."

I mean what good is having to have a long chant to throw a fireball 50 yards and blow someone up when you can pull a trigger and fire a recoilless rifle and blow someone up from 900 yards.

It's portability and concealment, a recoilless rifle is bulky and heavy and loud. People will notice that. On the other hand with the fireball, you can do damage by mere speech and some bodily motion.

In this case Chris just has a great many things that is large, loud, dangerous and red.

@jynmi88 So is Hog's Ass actually part of the Union Of Despair or is it like a common place where they hang out and the bar is simply neutral?

Cause I was thinking that Samus may pop in or something for a drink...

Agreed. Everyone is starting out in random locations so we need to put some interactions here and there. (Im guilty of this as well as seen with the Empire, only because a base for the UoD has not been revealed yet. Bowser will also appear in the base once its been confirmed)

@jynmi88 If you want, if thats the direction everyone wants to go, I can have either the Empire detect a disturbance near the bar (I made the post location rather ambiguous, so I can retcon the post to be nearby the bar) or I have introduce Bowser and his minions instead for back up.
