Physical DescriptionWith bright blue eyes and ginger hair glued to her scalp ever since she was born, Gretta is not someone who gets easily forgotten. Wherever she goes, at least a pair of eyes is closely watching her. People rudely interrupting her daily activities so they could question her ascendancy is not unusual. On the contrary, it was so usual, Gretta would just hold her hand up and shake her head at the person, leaving them with their mouths agape and a inquiry stuck in their throats, while she walked away, cigarette in between her slim fingers and sick of people not minding their own business.
Being always considered a 'not as tall nor as short' gal, she finds herself satisfied with her 5' 9" height at her current age, 25. Forever being one to have a frame which is usually called
petite, Gretta is very agile and quick on her feet. You could usually see the redhead wearing a black beater or a navy crop top, this when she is not wearing her signature cropped green jacket with yellow and red pockets and a dark hoodie attached to it. Normally combining the latter garment with her black tight pants, a blue zip-up fitting shirt and her pair of brown gloves that match her messenger bag. A tribal arm cuff tattoo can be found on the top of her right arm and her right ear has been pierced several times, having a collection of earrings there. Her hair could be described as rebellious, not being completely straight and curls never truly making an appearance. It is cut irregularly, one side longer than the other, this being the right one, mainly to hide her multiple perforations from her superiors. A cigarette or a toothpick are usually by her mouth.
PsycheGretta has been described to be a sarcastic tigress. Never one to back down and specially not against people who think they know it all and deserve everything the light touches-
They're not fucking Mufasa, for fuck's sake-. Entitlement pisses her off and injustice just makes her blood boil.
When in the company of friends, she likes joking around, poking fun at her pals and teasing. Her dark humor usually gets her in trouble always, much like her running mouth that can't be kept shut even in front of superiors. She speaks her mind and she will make sure everyone pays attention to every goddamn word she has to say. Gretta usually has a sense for self-preservation, knowing who and when to act a certain way but her temper occasionally gets in her way, as mentioned before. She oozes confidence with every stride she takes and enjoys having a foul mouth.
Many people would deem her as rude but, surprisingly enough, she is very empathetic and has a soft spot for children. She loves helping people and adores the idea of being the emotional support of anyone who needs it. Gretta doesn't like showing it but she truly has a soft side to her.
MotivationInjustice has never been a word that actually left Gretta's mouth with a good taste whenever it left her full lips. The way those syllables rung throughout her ears and entire skull made her just cringe. She had seen injustice and it definitely wasn't pretty. She wanted to change that in whatever way she could which is why she had first joined the DPD; to fight against that injustice but, of course, she had been transferred thanks to her father's influences and now she was stuck dealing with the mayor himself. What a time to be alive.
RelationsOctavio Denari -
Father [Alive]. The Sicilian business man came to the States for business and business only. He hated the fact that he had to take his wife and daughter to Detroit but he couldn't possibly leave them there for the Mafia to deal with, right? Gretta knew the dirty things her father did and has never approved of such things. She knew how harmful it all was for the people in Palermo, one of the capital states in Sicily, and did her best efforts to aid whoever was collateral damage- either families who had just lost their prime income method, families who had just lost their houses or people who had been injured in any crossfire which they had found themselves in. Her father hated this attitude coming from his only daughter and how wasteful it was on his resources. Even though, he has demonstrated how much he loved his daughter and the longing to forever protect her, specially after her mother's passing. That had really struck a nerve in Octavio's persona and he had never been the same ever since.
Apollonia Denari -
Mother [Deceased]. Her mother had always been a submissive person, something Gretta had always found distressing. She had always asked her mother to have more backbone and fight her father and his less than legal dealings but Apollonia would always just shake her head and deny such petitions. She would only say that Octavio's ways were indeed terrible but that that was her father's way of protecting them and creating a legacy that all three of them could take pride in and that she was grateful to him. Apollonia and Octavio were very close, their love forever present for everyone to see. Gretta would remember how she would often times feel jealous of how love struck they seemed and how she would wish for something like that but, obviously, in different circumstances. The red headed woman's mother passed away two months after they had moved to Detroit- a burglar who had been too nervous and stupid to actually pull off a normal robbery.
Personal HistoryGretta Denari. A proud Sicilian fiery passionate woman who had moved from her hometown, Palermo, to the
magical place that Detroit was. Insert scoff here. Why would she move from beautiful Sicily?, one would ask, baffled. Gretta would reply, annoyed, that it had been her father's wishes. Having been underage when the time had come to travel, she couldn't possibly deny. Staying alone in Sicily was out of the question as well, considering her father's line of work, therefore intensive English and History classes ensued. Once in Detroit, their entire life had changed for good.
Her mother passed away two months after they had gotten to the country of "Freedom", as it was internationally known and mocked of. It had been a huge a shock for both her father and herself. Her father had turned colder and more strict. He had lost his better half, after all. The woman who made him want to be a better man had been taken from him by the grasp of a random idiot and he could do nothing about it but eternally mourn the beautiful woman's absence by his bed and table. He would forever miss how Apollonia warmed and acted as a light in his life. Gretta, of course, had cried non-stop, her support forever gone. A friend- if not her best friend- had been murdered. She sobbed, her wailing filling every corner in their now empty house. She had punched every surface available for her volatile teenage attitude to take advantage of. Her bloodied knuckles, broken vases and mirrors the only testimony of her suffering. Eventually, she became used to the idea of being motherless and swore she would forever make her mother proud, wherever she was.
Gretta had been the new foreign girl who spoke broken English to her classmates and teachers. She hated how bullies thought she was a stupid girl who was about to allow people to shit on her and other students surrounding her. Of course, being how she was, she defended not only herself, but other minorities and people who didn't have it in them to stand up for themselves. Soon getting into trouble for such behaviors- being involved in fights, earning some black eyes and providing a lot more -, she was known as someone not to fuck with. People looked at her with certain fear but eventually that came to change when the student body realized what a kind, noble young woman she was.
Fast forward a few years later and there she was, joining Detroit Police Department after a year an a half of travelling throughout America to join peaceful strikes, help communities in danger, attend to wounded and recollect funds for non-lucrative organizations who sought the welfare of others- all actions she deemed would had made her mother happy. She had been called by her father to stop her nonsensical travelling and spending. He wanted her to return home where he could keep an eye on her. Surrounded by nothing but vain shit which was usual of her father's lifestyle, she joined the DPD in search of giving her days some meaning.
EquipmentAugmentationsDermal Armor:After she had first joined the Detroit Police Department, Octavio, her father, had ordered her to get this augmentation; looking out for his only daughter was just a given that Gretta wouldn't fully appreciate at first.
