THE WAR OF THE THREE: EXODUS

"We who have seen war, never stop seeing it...."
The Story So Far

It is said that war is the ultimate solution, the final escalation to conflict and strife. To many, the concept of war is the last resort in bringing the end of dark times and the beginning of a new age. A new order. But for those of a special bringing, war is all they know. Conflict breathes into their hearts, gives them life, and invigorates them to stand and fight. There are whispers, shadows of doubts, hushed through the ages of worlds describing one particular war that is waged forever. Never stopping, never ceasing, never once ending. Always conflict and forevermore. A war so massive and great, those enacted by beings of a lesser nature paled in comparison to the horrors of this conflict.

In a long ago time best forgotten, the Triumvirate ruled their domain in peace. Inhabiting the Nexus, a place to connect all worlds, the Triumvirate was given warning of a Great Danger, one so potent that it threatened to destroy their lives and civilization. The bonds of allegiance were strengthened in the face of this Great Danger and the factions who comprised of the Triumvirate were quick in their preparations for a war that might never come. In a streak of deep irony, the Triumvirate became poisoned with mistrust among one another. With the paranoia that comes with the end of days, so too is bred doubt and lies. Before long the Triumvirate's once held stability and peace between one another broke up, leaving behind three mighty factions to war with one another.

What was intended to be the greatest army in the cosmos was now reduced to civil war among each other. The conflict continue to roar across space and time, ripping apart whole dimensions and creating new ones in their place. The heavens are burning, the lands are sinking, and the once proud coalition that was the Triumvirate finds itself standing divided. And the Great Danger looms ever closer. With each battle, each victory and defeat, the final annihilation of everyone creeps more and more into the heart of the never ending war.

In the vastness of the Nexus there's no such thing as a day of peace. Even when the Triumvirate's champions aren't called to battle, conflict still ensues for a countless number of reasons. Such was the situation that led to a relatively small skirmish between the thee factions in the a barren region known as the Ocher Plains, a wide valley covered with rust and debris as far as the eye could see and beyond. What could be the benefit of achieving dominance over what amounted to a pile of scrap metal and acid pools was unknown. However, it was known that it interested the leaders and so it was worth it.

The first ones to break the deathly silence that encompassed the valley were the Machina. A salvo of heavy phase cannon fire target at the Angel's forces would do the trick of beginning this battle with a bang and enough sparks that would make even this dreary place look like one of the Supreme Queen's live concerts. As soon as the opening volley was fired, the ground troops advanced, not losing any momentum in their path of conquest. Well..."relatively small skirmish" might have been cutting it short. After all, it was not by the hundreds or thousands by which Heaven responded in quick turn, but by numbers closer to the millions in soldier and supply.

The Nexus bred its own near-limitless count of creatures and monsters, those that would be molded into the ranks of either Heaven, Machina, or Hell. The first shots of the battle had been taken, returned in short quickly by Heaven's own fire. Bolts of divine energy rang from the skies to skewer those in defiance of the Imperator's might, while great spheres of heavenly flames rocketed from the skies to bombard any left standing. From a distance, one would mistake the rushing tide of gold as perhaps a river of treasure to sweep forth the land. But nay, these were but the usual forces of Heaven, marching forward to combat Demon and Machina alike. All were enemies in their eyes and all would pay in defilement of their great Imperator.

Yet what was the fury of gods and resolve of machines before pure avarice? The ground shuddered and tore asunder, chasms of heated rock belching tongues of fire into the air as clawed horrors scrambled over the clefts and plunged themselves into the Machina's ranks. Imps swarmed among the metal men, fingers thrust into eyes as flames bellowed from their palms and burnt circuitry to cinders. They were frail petty creatures and died in droves greater then they could claim from their foes ranks, but such was the lot of cannon fodder. Those both strong and smarter then the minuscule hellions erupted forth amidst whirlwinds of hellish magic and laden with arms and armor wreathed in auras of palpable dread. Uniformity was forsaken among the champions of Hell, their ranks varied by those who had distinguished themselves through the eons of ceaseless conflict.

Like an assassin's dagger they thrust themselves into the heart of their foes, all too eager to tear the wings from angels and send them hurtling into the infernal chasms they emerged from. There attack was all ferocity and none of the coordination found in their enemies, but what was organization when they were shattered upon corrupted steel before issuing a single order?

The attacks would meet a resistance of equal power. While the first infantry wave suffered at the hands of the demons, the mechanized cavalry that follow suit didn't have much trouble finding purchase into enemy territory. The mighty bipedal and arachnid-like war machines that thrived in such uneven ground as the one in this valley marched forth crushing any who were corrupted, or already dead, while while another wave of infantry cleared any survivors.

The Angel's attacks would fail to connect with their intended target when the Machina deployed their next advantage to this conflict. Shields. They blocked the brunt of the attacks without much effort as the artillery retaliated, aiming particularly at those that were already weakened by the Demons. Nothing is more efficient than shooting two birds with one bullet, after all. Of course, to what end would Heaven be without sheer might of its own. For while their lesser became casualties to the Machina's artillery fire and demonic meddling, measures were being taken fold.

Thunderous war cries rang out from the fire-filled skies, the demonic hordes soon being rushed from the side by a flurry of steel, blade and lance alike. For the mighty Valkyries had been called to action, several dive-bombing to purge the demons with holy blasts and blessed armor. While they did battle with Hell, several magicians had formulated their own ploy. Gathered to the back of Heaven's mass armies, they brought to life ancient and arcane mutterings, each of which had breathed new life into powerful allies. Great dragons of white, monolithic beasts adorned in armor, and several more monsters of biblical standards lay waste to all in their sight, the Machina war machines being their primary target. One in particular, a four-legged beast glimmering in silver and horns and heralding the face of a lion, charged headlong into the Machina's advancing tanks, scaling uneven terrain with ease.

Such utter devastation raged upon the sundered earth and the demon's shrieked in agony as they were torn apart upon Angelic bombardment and mechanized retaliation. It was a proverbial meat grinder, yet into such fury did more demons pour forth undaunted. The strong trampled the weak as the bodies grew higher and higher around them, and they never ceased in the feverish rush to meet their enemies up close. The longer it drew on the greater the forces, and with a titanic heave one chasm buckled outwards before the might of a corrupted machine. Giant in scale, it resembled nothing less then a city sized dragon with flesh erupting like cancerous pustules between once ordered rows of armored plates. Thruster and wings bathed the scorched earth in their exhaust and tore into the sky to crash upon the Angelic lines with lances of arcane energy cast by horrors too warped to gaze upon. And from its decks came the cackling of deranged warriors flinging themselves into open air if only to embrace a winged warrior on the end of their blades and drag them to the abyss below.

As the battle continued to rage, the forces of the Machina continued to push forward. The introduction of the big guns for every one of their opponents weren't a deterrent but rather a reason to fight even more zealously. There was yet one move that they could make use in their arsenal that would stand tall even against a literal apocalypse like the one unleashing in front of them.

With a word to the high command the sky itself would flash. A rain of energy projectiles coming from high above, from space itself began to crash upon the battlefield hitting targets with surgical precision. Orbital Bombardments were usually a very last resort tactic but one that rarely failed to work when the Machina didn't bring the main guns to a campaign. It would be brief, however, one could only wonder who would be left standing when the debris and dust began to settle.

But even all this was to no one's surprise. The addition of a corrupted behemoth in control of the Demons and now lasers bombaring straight from the edges of space within the confines of the Nexus itself; none of it was all too shocking for the combatants involved. There were gasps of weary nature of course, in many of abundance as both Hell and Machina began to unleash their full powers. Such was the fate of those in the Nexus however, for this battle, this grand part in escalation; it was nothing new to the inhabitants that lived this different kind of hell each and evert day. It was also no surprise to come when the myriad of bellowing roars shook the landscape itself.

For revealed among the smoke and dust, among the remains corpses and over the clashing music of battle, came the copious wave of beasts. Of monsters and men, towering constructs of astral energy took shape in the form of minotaurs, their horns reached high as if to stab the Nexus' sky itself. Weapons ranging from axes and hammers, to cannons dripping in holy magic adorned these monsters. With another bellow, they flung themsleves without cause or abandon towards the two other armies swallowing the earth whole. Unrespondent to the orbital fire, some sought to crush whatever Machina they could find-which was plenty in on itself-while others converged their streams of holy beams right towards the hell dragon the Demons had managed to create. All the while, the sky rang down in a melody of crushing fire, dragged corpses ridden by demons, and plasmic bolts from the Machina's domain over the stars.

And over this concerto of carnage came the blaring of speakers dragged forth by corrupted machine and lesser demons, bleating forth a war cant to summon up great titans of lava and stone from the earth's shattered skin. Leviathan's that burned the air and glared upon the celestial's with all consuming contempt. Curled fists of primal rage clashed upon holy horns as the demons poured their blackened hearts into the fierce melee that swept up saint, sinner, and agnostic alike into the depths of barbarism. And in the sky the malignant drake of flesh and metal soared above the field and breached the clouds, only to crash down with all the fury of the Machina's own bombardment, sweeping down those caught before its spread wings in a meteoric crash upon the battlefield.

Even when the Chaos reached never before seen heights, the Machina didn't give up on their cold and mechanical take on the battle. Every move was calculated with painstakingly complex algorithms and executed with machine-precision. Now that the battle had devolved into a pure blood and coolant bath, the Machina snipers picked their targets like death gods on the prowl. A swift bullet or beam at the back of the head or center of mass could take any target and, if that failed, there was always the option of entombing all of them in this technological graveyard. For this purpose alone, sappers were disposed in great numbers, ready to blow heavy explosive charges and drop the mountains of scrap on everyone's head, if need be.

So too then, did Heaven's wrath descend on the battlefield. Congregations of stars and celestial bodies gathered into various, swirling swarms in the far reaches of space. Raised higher than any Machina technology could dare dream of, the forces of Heaven began their own orbital bombardment, eager to level the planets themselves if it secured them a final victory. Because at this point, the purpose for their conflict was long since forgotten, given sway only by their desire to conquer and win. Those who could still remember why they fought were much too jaded by the strife, this war of the three, to care. For war was war and so long as the Nexus continued to fester and pulse, those living in it would continue to be subjugated in this ever lasting torture.

Sheena and Pink

While the Nexus may endure war eternal, there were many beings, small or large, that instead readied themselves for the future battles, rather than the one of that particular day. For, rest was a form of preparation as well.

Sheena was sitting on a bench in front of a fountain, hat beside her as she had a bag of cookies next to her and was reading a book.

"Hmmm?" Pink's ears rose up from behind a perfectly trimmed bush, expertly placed to grant privacy to those who were appreciating the fountain. Or in this case, those spying on those appreciating the fountain. Her ears twitched a little in the wind before rising a little further, exposing her eyes. "Worth thilting about." Tilting her head, Pink openly stared at Sheena, seemingly unashamed of her brazen and obvious spying or her butchering of language.

Sheena's hat suddenly seemed to squirm and moved over to tap her hand, getting her attention before somehow pointing in Pink's location.

"Hello! Are you happy?" Pink asked with an innocent tone, emphasizing the word happy as though it were a little strange to her tongue. She seemed quite perplexed by the possibility.

"Umm...hello...yes, I'm quite happy.." Sheena remarked, caught a little off-guard by the girl's manner of speaking. "You might be?"

Pink perked up noticeably, her chin clearing the hedge as she energetically bounced up as her name was asked "Oh! I'm Sapphire Pink!" Pink weightlessly flipped forward over the hedge, shimmering sparkles adorning her feet like she was skating on an invisible loop-de-loop. She landed on the ground with no sound save for the crackle of more sparkles under her feet skittering out in all directions like a firework burst against the ground. She seemed quite pleased with her maneuver, chin and tail high.

"I was just asking because usually I can smell a lot of sorrow and anger and hatred on most people, but you don't have nearly as much." Pink zipped forward, a single step gliding her across the ground and swooping into the bench next to Sheena.

Sheena rose an eyebrow at this girl's antics but simply shrugged it off, "Nice to meet you, Miss Pink. I'm Sheena, and this is Shade," She gestured to her hat which briefly resumed its specter form to wave before reverting back to a hat.

"Oh cool!" Sapphire momentarily forgot to be polite as she brought her hands up to her cheeks and gushed about Shade. "You've got a friend who can turn into clothes too! That's one of my favorite things!"

"You're...familiar with that?"

"Yup, imagine something you want, and I can turn into it, likety split! Well, if it's not to big, or not too complex. Like, I don't really understand how guns work, so I can't turn into a functional gun, but I can LOOK like a gun. Or if you want a person, I can LOOK like how you imagine that person but I won't like get their memories or their powers or anything. So, well, there's a lot of things I can't turn into, but hey on the bright side there's a lot of things I can turn into!" Pink goes on and on, like an endless tide, ecstatic that someone was interested in her.

"Uhh..." Sheena was sweatdropping at how excitable this person was, "That's...great...hey, you want some cookies while we talk?"

"Oh, sure! I'd love to, is that what makes you happy? Or is it the hat friend? Deva never really seems happy. Maybe it's because no one brings her cookies!" Pink stopped as abruptly as she started on one topic, only to diverge onto another. She held her hands out like a bowl for Sheena to place a cookie in.

Sheena obliged and handed her a cookie. "So, I take it you hang out here in Heaven?"

"Yup! Specifically I hang out a lot near the Resurrectorium because there's a lot of negative emotions to eat. People usually still have lingering pain or anger from the battle. I eat that so that they that maybe they can be happier." Pink nods, and then sells a very positive spin of herself, before finishing with an honest addendum as she bit into her cookie. "And because it is delicious." She gives her tummy a little meaningful rub with her free hand, even as a few crumbs fall across it from her carelessness of talking and eating at the same time.

"But then one day, I decided to try and find the biggest unhappiness, but it wasn't there, it was in the throne room. Both Deva and Ruxen must have been very very sad, and the sadness was bigger than me and I couldn't eat it." Pink set the half eaten cookie in her mouth and spread her arms wide as she could, and looked as close to sad as Sheena had yet seen the perpetually energetic pup. "I did a bad job trying and I think they're even more unhappy with me, so I was trying to come up with a present to apologize with. These cookies are pretty good, so maybe that'll make them happy. Do dogs eat cookies?"

Sheena frowned a little, "I don't think so. Most cookies have some type of chocolate or nuts in them so I'm not sure how they may take it...but I still think it's sweet of you to want to help them."

"Ooooh... That's tricky.. No nuts or chocolate? Dogs can't eat those?" Pink pondered bringing up a finger to her lips in thought. Or to shove what remained of the cookie into her mouth. Then she turned her attention back to Sheena, beaming a little. "Aw thanks! I used to dream I could get so big I could eat all the sadness. But then I started to learn a little bit more about how really big things are! So, I'm going to have to supplement my appetite with other ways to make people happy. Because that's what makes me happy!"

"But what about you?" Pink tilted her head again, leaning in a little. "I just realized I latched onto cookies but you never said they were what made you happy! How silly of me, I'm sorry." Pink bounced a hand off the side of her own head in a self admonishing whack, that was rather energetic for true contrition.

"It's ok. To be honest, what makes me happy is a mix of being able to help people and learning all I can about the places I go to. The more I learn, the easier it is to deal with problems I run into." She decided this was a good chance to make Pink happy too so she went to give her a hug.

"Aah?" Pink was utterly astonished that someone other than her had wanted to hug her instead of the other way round. Amazing! Astonishing! Pink's tail wagged furiously as she returned the hug. "You're pretty great Sheena! You're awesome at making people happy. I got a cookie and a hug."

"Thanks, you're pretty cool too," Sheena giggled, "So, you get a lot of hugs?"

"Mmm... I give a lot, seeing that's how I eat, but I don't tend to get a lot. Maybe it's because I hang around too much with sad people, and sad people don't have enough happy to give hugs.. That must be it!" Pink resolved as though this was some amazing discovery. "I bet that once I make everyone happy, there'll be way more hugs!"

Sheena didn't really have the heart to bring reality into the situation so she smiled and hugged her tighter. "So, what else you do in your free time?"

"Mmm.. Well, I've been trying to learn how to sleep. It seems to make other people happy sometimes, but I can never sit still for long enough to try it." Pink let her chin rest against Sheena's shoulder, rubbing her cheek against Sheena's, luxuriating in the freely given touch. Pink's eyes were closed, as she focused entirely on tactile senses.

Sheena smiled and rubbed her cheek on Pink's in turn.

"So, what are these problems you were talking about? You said you had some? Can you think of anything that would help if you had? I'm trying to learn how to become an enchanter and general stuff maker."

"Eh, just general stuff on my travels. People who are in trouble or sick, or just those who cause problems in general." That was the abridged version as Sheena felt now was not a good time to bring up all the crazier stuff in her travels.

"Oh, hmm.. I don't know how to make medicine yet. That's a whole world of stuff I haven't explored!" Pink seemed happy enough with that. Curing the sick alone was a big thing.

"Well, I'm sure you can help a lot of people when you do."

"It wasn't really on the list for me, seeing most of the people I hang out with are really high ranking and if they ever got sick, if they couldn't cure themselves, they'd know somebody who could, or if that didn't work they could just go and die in battle and be resurrected. I hadn't really thought about people who get sick and then need help. Man, that's a whole nother big problem."

"Anything else you like to do?"

"Oh, hmm... Sometimes I birdwatch." Pink looks up at a passing harpy.

"Birdwatching is nice."

The halls of Hyperion. A testament to the palace of a technological masterpiece...

... really needed signs. It was actually kind of confusing to navigate the place the way it was now. Most people often carried some kind of navigation device, be it magical relic or just a phone. Brock had a communicator but that was it. He couldn't really navigate using that because it wasn't really helpful for that purpose. It was mainly helpful for just being called into battle, and Brock knew where to go to get put into the next battle.

"Finally," the swordsman said as he found the right room. A physical library. The Machina had both, the standard book and physical learning library as well as the digital version that could be accessed there. Either would've worked.

Brock walked into the library, noticed it largely empty, and helped himself inside. The skeleton walked over to one of the shelves and began to browse it. "There's gotta be somethin' in here that I can use to become stronger..." There wasn't sugar coating it. Now that Abigail was out of his life, Bonesword had one real goal in mind. He wanted to get as strong as he could and fight as hard as he can. If he could truly become stronger, then his quest would be a success. Otherwise... he'd need a stiff drink for sure.

"..." The queen bee buzzed silently in her bed, surrounded by a series of blood speckles and with her outfit torn a bit on the ends. The atmosphere of the hive was more tense than normal, namely due to the sudden arrival of bee vampires, but Apia didn't mind them. The public didn't seem to either. All was well in the Honey Dimension.

Except for Apia's appetite for blood. That was something not great.

Although it was getting considerably weaker, it was still pretty great. At first it seemed like it was a giant hole in her stomach, but now it just seemed like she didn't really feel much other than a stomach ache and a slight headache. It was definitely lessening, but it was still a slow process of lessening. How do the big vampires do it?

Bah, the queen had to get her mind off this feeling. Dwelling on it wasn't helping, and Apia needed to converse with someone to pass the time. A portal opened up in Apia's doorway as the queen grabbed her things and left the room, teleporting to just outside of Hell's throne room. Maybe she was needed? It'd get her mind off the feelings she was having at the moment.

COLLAB WITH @Floodtalon

-: CONCLUSION OF PREVIOUS THREAD :-

A long battle had transpired on the mountains of Renpia, with the Vassal of the Nether, Titanica, pitting her atomic flames against the chilling cold of the Vassal of Ice, Archorus. As it so happened a certain Machina soldier was caught in the middle as he so often is, helping Titanica fend off Archorus in his pursuit of the skin of a Black Goat. A few missing limbs and a thousand foot fall later Henry was barely alive on top of the tallest peak of Renpia while Titanica was sitting pretty. "Five of you. I've survived five of you insane bitches." He kept laughing as he repaired his liver, rolling back to his stomach and pushing himself off the ground, flying in midair as he observed Titanica. "I really hope you're not gonna try to kill me. I probably couldn't take you on when I'm at my best and I'm far from my best right now." Henry gestured at his missing legs and laughed a little harder, feeling his eyes straining as he finished working on all his internal organs. Henry reached to his left and a portal dropped a syringe of red liquid into his hand, a quick jab into his right thigh emptied all of it in one fell swoop.

The Vassal gets up slowly as she issues a low growl while shaking off her joints from the battle at hand. She figured quickly that Archorus was not physically there, rather she simply controlled the mech that mocked her organic glory. But she'll be back... when and where however is not a question she cares to answer. Yet there is indeed a question she has regarding the presence of this... boy. A boy that survived five encounters with different Vassals? He must've had some serious luck, both good and bad, for having encountered them and actually surviving. If this is true, then the least she can be is a hint impressed. The looming vassal ominously eyes the demon-looking figure as she listens vaguely to his pleads for mercy, only for him to laugh cruelly towards his legs as he tries to recover from the initial blast of Titanica's nuclear pulse. She simply snorts as her tail smacks the floor, yet does not finish the boy off. Not yet anyways. She inspects him carefully before issuing a response.

"Why are you here?" she simply asks bluntly towards him with a cold face.

Henry's left eye twitched as Titanica smacked the floor with her tail, the legs were already beginning to reform due to the healing potion at the very least. Would they reform in time for any sort of fight? Maybe. She asked why he was here and he thought over his answer for a moment before eventually settling on a safe but honest answer. "I'm searching for the leather of a black goat. Roma wants it for a contract, you Vassals don't settle for anything but the best apparently." If he pushed a bit of mana into his legs they would reform faster, but that was valuable mana for opening and closing his primary offense and defense. Would the short term boost in mobility outweigh the long term combat viability? Dozens of calculations along these lines ran through Henry's head as his fight or flight response kicked in and he prepared for battle once again. On the surface he maintained a cool demeanor, but the air was tense as Henry stared down Titanica, awaiting a response from her.

The vassal processes this information carefully. So he has been instructed the same task as well from Roma the Eel? It was an interesting revelation. Before she begins to answer however, she suddenly hears baying coming from behind her. Titanica growls as she turns around to notice a single black goat perched on a rock formation. The grazing goat's hide was indeed black, the same one that they have been searching for no less. She glances down at Henry again before looking back at the grazing mammal. Before anything else can happen, her tail smacks the ground again, only significantly harder. The black goat perches up suddenly, startled by the sudden shaking, only to realize too late that a loose rock below one of his hooves was loose and sent Billy Goat tumbling down the small hill before plopping down on the ground. It landed at a very odd angle, the same hoof having been sprained upon impact with the ground. Even as it bays for help, there was nowhere for him to run, let alone stand. The vassal quietly walks towards the fallen goat as she eyes her prey right in her sights.

"Ah shit." Henry burst forwards as the goat's eyes began to glow an ominous red, drawing his blade and slicing the goat's head off as three spikes of hardened steel began to emerge from the ground. All of which were pointed directly at Titanica's throat. "Fucking goats, can never accept death without a fight." He flicked the blood off his blade and smoothly sheathed it, looking at Titanica with a unreadable expression. The goat head rolled to her feet, bumping into her before stopping and staring at her with dead eyes. "A lot of things are like that in the Nexus. They never go down without a fight." His message was clear. If she planned on killing him, he wasn't going to make it easy.

Even as the eyes glowed an ominous red towards the massive vassal, Titanica didn't flinch or move. She only stopped dead in her tracks only after the spikes nearly tried to pierce her throat. She looks down at her feet, seeing the goat's head roll down by her feet. Yet the vassal produced no sudden jolts of movement, only another ominously guttural moan as her yellow eyes give off a vitriolic glower towards Henry. As she turns, her tail chops the spikes with a clean sweep of her tail, the stone cones rolling off to the side, with one of them falling off the edge. She gives off an audible grunt as a small blue flame escapes her toothy maw.

"You have no idea who you're fucking with." she warns bitterly as her heel crushes the goat's skull, spilling brain matter, horns, and eye balls from it, "It may simply be coincidence or fate that brought us here... Yet our goals seem to have coaligned. Other goats roam this mountain... so find your own. Yet if you wish for a fight, so be it."

Her stance begins to shift as her arms begin to become covered in dark-grey scales, her spines cackling in blue aura with a low hum, and her tail stiffing up in aggression.

"Do not expect any mercy from me."

Henry waited a few moments before turning away from her and prodding the corpse that lay before him. "I have a good idea of the powers that I prod. Even if I don't consider the battle of the gods I was just a participant in, I've been punted through enough mountains by Juno to know exactly what a Vassal is capable of." His legs finally grew back and he touched upon the ground, clothing forming around his legs already as he began to walk away. "You eat them don't you? Actually no, don't answer. I don't want to know what someone like you would want with a goat." He flipped her off and moved on from the corpse, stopping just before he stepped off. "We'll meet again Vassal of the Nether. But next time I'm going to be strong enough to kick your ass." Henry grinned to himself and leapt off the mountain, spreading his wings and flying away from the icy battleground.

It appears he knows who she was. Yet this, on top of a cheesy speech of blind bravado, did not worry Titanica as she watches him take off from the cliff. She has heard many speeches during her journeys before, yet they never followed up on their claims of victory. Yet those who tried were gravely put back in their place. Even his claim of having contact with five vassals was, while slightly impressing, only issued empty threats. She gives a single chuckling sigh, as her stance relaxes as she keeps her composure this time. She walks back towards the decapitated goat and eyes it for a short moment before proceeding to rip open his hide. It was a gory, yet surprisingly short process as she wears the skin over her body. She glances back at the cliff where Henry leapt off of briefly before she issues another portal that takes her back down to the bottom of the mountain. Indeed may they meet again down the line - only time will tell - but Henry seems to have forgotten or be blissfully unaware of her purpose here.

He better hope he doesn't encounter her when that time comes... for his sake, and perhaps the entire Nexus' itself.

Sapphire Pink

Deva's audience chambers were the home of many extremely powerful individuals, certainly one of the grandest being the Imperator herself. It was a common trait of the superhuman to have similarly superhuman senses. But it would not have required them to detect the oncoming scent of cookies. Oatmeal raisin to be specific, fresh out of the oven. To have identified the scent of apples as instead Riesling wine, might require such said supernal senses as well at a depth of knowledge in the varieties of wine.

However, rather than their bearer to appear, the scent seemed to waft from just outside. Their source would be made clear when a set of pink ears slowly creeped into view, at an angle suggesting Sapphire was at a right angle to the floor. "Pssst. Chen. Hey, Chen." Was whispered from just beyond the threshhold, the bearer of the pink ears still not quite showing herself yet, save the telltale ears.

Henry cracked his knuckles as he waited outside the interrogation room, grumbling to himself as he waited for approval to go inside and get his job done. It seemed like this type of thing happened once a week at the least, the Machina couldn't get info out of some poor sap they had captured, so they sent Henry in to work the subject. It wasn't a bad choice all things considered, he was a pretty damn good interrogator. The problem was that it happened every week. Without fail.

"Are you even listening Avaritia? Do you even know what information you're trying to gather?" They were fucking with him. He knew they were. They knew that he knew. He knew they knew that he knew. Yet they continued to call him in every week, despite the fact that this was a complete waste of his time. They were probably doing it because it was a waste of his time. They didn't want him to go back to the casino, fucking bastards. It's not his fault they were a bunch of dirty cheating toasters! It's also not his fault he decided to vocalize this loudly in the middle of a game of Poker, while being surrounded by several humans. The drone snapped it's fingers loudly to get his attention and he groaned. Hee ignored the faceless drone that was addressing him, cracked his neck and opened the door to the interrogation room. Time to get to work.

5 minutes later and he had the poor Angel goon whimpering as several grunts rushed in to put the bastard down. A waste of his time, the kid was so green he was comparable to that old frog puppet he had seen around Hell. Apparently it originated from Machina territory to entertain human kids, small world. A small device in his ear rang and he groaned as he was ordered to stop by TEP headquarters so he could drop off some more Angelic Relics he had recently "acquired" during the battle at Holin. Absolute shithole that had been filled to the brim with Angels, the Demons didn't even bother showing up to that skirmish. Looks like he was going to have to delay going to see Bastion and Roma just so some more shitty grunts could waste his time with a fucking drop off.

About half an hour later Henry showed up to TEP headquarters, ignoring the receptionist as she attempted to direct him to some bullshit storage facility, instead heading straight to the Hangar where he knew Unit-T was stored. A few soldiers almost tried to stop him, but a quiet growl along with a glare from his Silver Eyes stopped them in their tracks. That was bound to grab attention from someone important. "Fucking Machina grunts think they can waste my time with menial chores." He muttered to himself, along with other similar obscenties and complaints as he walked into the Hangar. After dropping one chair from the Gates of Tartarus, he took a seat and sneered like the Prince of Demons that he was. Basically he was pouting quietly while he waited for someone to complain to.

"Somebody's got the munchies..." An unfamiliar voice would ring out from behind Apia, if she turned around to see who it was she would see nothing. "You're new to the whole undead scene huh? I can tell, you've got baby bat written all over you." The same voice would once again be right behind Apia and once again if she turned around she would see nothing. "Stop beeing so squirmy! I'm right here ya know!" If Apia decided to turn around one last time she would see a demon with purple and green hair standing on the tips of his toes and giggling like a madman at his own terrible pun.

"It's not healthy to starve yourself ya know. It's also not very healthy being dead, but I think we've passed the point of no return on that one." He smiled a toothy grin, revealing a rather large pair of fangs amongst his already extremely sharp teeth. Suddenly the demon would get in Apia's face, one moment he was a few feet away and the next he was inches away from Apia with the same grin on his face. "You're trying to throw yourself into work to ignore the hunger aren't you? All the newbies do that, the first battle is what makes or breaks you. Either you come back home with a belly full of blood, or you rot on the battlefield with the rest of the low class Demons who aren't worth bringing back." He leaned back and began laughing once more, amused by the prospect of Apia's death.

Chen stood by Deva's side as per usual. Waiting for literally anything to happen at this point, today was one of the slower days. Iona had stopped by to let him know there would be a battle coming soon that he would be needed for, but that wasn't for a while. At the moment he simply stood guard by Deva and Ruxen waiting. He used to be a hero. He had fought against tyranny, fought to save the world. Now he was a bodyguard. How the mighty fall. The inner turmoil of his thoughts was great, but it did not show on his face. He remained as impassive as ever while he lamented where his life had led to.

"Pssst. Chen. Hey, Chen." Oh thank Deva, finally he had something to do. Pink was his greatest source of entertainment these days, any time she dropped by was sure to be highly amusing. However the fact that he didn't even notice her until she started talking was troubling, he was slacking off if he didn't notice that intense smell of Riesling wine cookies. Wait what? Chen looked at Deva and quietly nodded as he approached the threshold of the room, turning the corner to face Pink with what appeared to be cookies. Riesling wine cookies as a matter of fact, it would appear she broke into the kitchen to make cookies. For what, he had a pretty good idea.

"Pink. What ridiculous schemes have you concocted today to try and get Ruxen's attention?" Many would see this as being harsh, however he knew that she wouldn't. Not only could she feel negative emotions emanating from others, which would tell her there was no anger nor annoyance coming off of Chen, but he also knew she was actually physically incapable of being sad or offended in any way. He almost felt jealous. Almost.

"What?" Apia was taken aback, offended a fair bit by this... this... what was he even? He reminded her of Rufus but more carnival demon reject as opposed to Eldritch horror. Either way, it was a bit unnerving to hear his sinewy voice as he explained what might happen to Apia should she fail to prove herself on a battlefield. Was she going to rot like the lesser demons? That was a question in itself. What dictated lesser demon? Apia had heard rumors of a frog puppet respawning multiple times despite being near-useless. Did she have to actually BE useless in order to be left behind? She wasn't useless... was she?

Nevertheless, the bee regained her composure as she stood up and turned her head away from the man out of annoyance. One question for him lingered in her head, however. "Why are you informing me of this?"

CIEL, THE STARGAZER

"Once again? Why is it that it has to be this way?" Ciel said to herself right after she finished the last stroke of her latest star chart. The platinum-haired girl's eyes betrayed clear concern as she stepped away from her observatory's main telescope.

Ciel took an aimless walk through her home — her gilded, starlit cage. Before she realized, she had made her way to the luxurious indoor bathing pool. The waters sparkled under the starlight that traversed the engraved crystal panels of the bathing room's external walls and ceiling. "I suppose that it's only natural that my feet would bring me here when I'm distressed. I guess that, in the end, I'm really just a small goldfish. Even if I can see the whole ocean at once, trying to swim against fate's tide is impossible for someone such as myself." Ciel's voice carried a heavy self-deprecating tone, almost bleeding a profound sadness.

"Even so, two at once is..."

Ciel's mind began to drift into the soothing allure of slumber not long after she dipped into the warm water, soaking herself all the way up to her chin. She should have thought that they would choose this route. What else could happen, after all?

As Ciel passed into the realm of dreams, chasing a star from a time long since gone, she was certain of one thing. Even if she had to go suffer for it later, her only choice at this moment was to try to defy the fate she gazed upon.

The Herald drifted slowly towards the throne room. As he traveled, many lesser demons that passed him recoiled at his sight.
The thought crossed his mind "It would seem this mask never shuts off, how peculiar." A small laugh escaped him, he found the thought of demons recoiling at the sight of a human soul quite amusing. The twisted metals and patchwork appearance of demonic architecture always baffled the doctor. Yes it appeared fearsome, but he was often left asking, why? Was it the jagged points that resembled the teeth of a gigantic beast? Perhaps the icons of skulls appearing so often caused the dread of oncoming death? Or maybe it was the mere fact that it was so unnatural that brought about instinctual terror. Whatever it was, he was sure of one thing. It worked.

As Tholman's mind drifted around, he came across a sight that snapped him to attention. Appearing, seemingly from nowhere, was a bee...person? Tholman sighed, he should be used to seeing the unnatural in Hell yet he continues being surprised. Within a few moments of her appearing, the bee-woman was suddenly being spoken to, well harassed more like, by a being who, in Tholman's Eyes, appeared like the wild amalgamations so often described by patients of the asylums. Tholman hardly left his quarters, as such he remains unaware of who either these beings are. Or perhaps his memory was slipping? Do souls decay? Tholman's mind ran off on another tangent. He sits there, silently contemplating if he remembers everything he should. A clawed hand coming to rest on the bottom of his beak-like mask.

The Butcher remained motionless in the Hangar. He had remained on call for the last few weeks. Being consistently sent out to deal with patrolling enemies and to gather intelligence. Though as of now he was unneeded. However, his sensors flared to life.
"Detecting Demonic presence. Objective: Capture and send for interrogation."

The massive mech turned and immediately, pulled out it's 6 blades, aiming at the point of origin, Henry. This caused a fair bit of chaos for the smaller grunts walking around as 21 meters worth of metal suddenly lurched outward.
"Submit to capture, demon."

Upon scanning the 'enemy' he found it to be Henry Avarita. An ally to the Machina, a very strong ally. The blades retracted, and Butcher returned to his standing position. Causing again, more havoc among the grunts.
"Apologies."

"That's enough."

Before the Butcher and the rest of the Machina soldiers in the hangar had a chance to fire upon the sneering Henry, a tall pale man emerged from the hangar doors on the opposite side of the conflict as he commanded them in a phlegmatic, yet stern, voice. His smooth palish blonde hair shined underneath the extensive neon lights that lit the hangar as he approaches in a white and purple priest-like robe. He wasn't alone however, as two suited guards escorted with him, both standing slightly behind the figure as they flanked his side and rear guards. The man silently waved his hand to the grunts that were pointing their guns at Henry to stand down, including the other four-armed robot that was nearby. They acknowledged as they continue to go about their daily business.

It ought to be anything but easy for an ex-demonic entity to quickly gain the trust of everyone here... but alas was the reality of the Nexus, where very few can be trusted.

As his guards stand put, the figure's face begins to lighten into a friendly smile as he looks down at the... rather short person.

"Greetings Avaritia," he says in a calm welcoming tone, "I believe we haven't met properly yet. My name is Constophiles, Director Karizawa's advisor for this facility. You are permitted to call me Consto for short. He was supposed to meet you here, but unfortunately unscheduled business prompted him to leave just an hour ago. So I'm taking over his place while he's gone."

He pauses as he lightly clears his throat.

"Now," he continues as he slowly extends his hand, "Enough with the formalities. I was told you were sent to retrieve several Angelic artifacts for us..."

With Henry's departure from the mountain, Titanica was able to retrieve the goat leather for herself and move on. She was still rather perplexed with Henry being in a contract with the Eel, however she didn't care much for that deal. He was otherwise in the same boat as her, which surprisingly he didn't seem to question such a possibility, only he was working for a different vassal and he in turn was also not a Vassal. She only thought that Hoho was the only person to embark on such a quest. Perhaps it was lucky of her to have Henry not figure out her true intention with the goat, but the fact that he played it smart was enough to make him look rather competent. Either way, he isn't a threat to her... at least at the moment.

Within a span of several hours, Titanica soon collected the other two components for Hohenheim's contact. She first encountered a nesting Roc guarding her precious eggs and proceeded to exterminate the mother. Luckily for the bird, one of her feathers became dislodged and fell to the ground. After retrieving the feather, the Vassal simply left the scene, leaving the mother to continue caring for her unhatched brood. It was only luck that spared the Roc from becoming a deep roasted-ready meal. The Vassal finally entered the ocean depths and completely annihilated a giant squid, ripping out the final component of the contract. The squid's ink sack.

With all the supplies in tow, the Saurian Vassal makes the long trip back to the hot springs where she initially met Hoho. She also recalls meeting the cat-lady... what was her name again? She didn't quite remember. But it doesn't matter now. Once she gets to Hoho, Titanica plops down the black goat's skin, the Roc feather, and the squid ink impulsively.

"Here." the vassal of nether growls as she exhales a deep sigh, "Your materials. Now... what do you want?"

Henry looked up to see a towering figure of metal and edges pointing six swords at him, ordering him to submit to capture with the unspoken threat of being impaled if he didn't. A Gate of Tartarus began to open up behind him as Henry's face morphed into an vicious snarl, with a large laser cannon emerging from the glowing red portal. A tense moment passed as the cannon began to charge up, only for the robot to disengage once it realized who he was. The cannon slowly powered down and slid back into the portal, said portal closing right as some pale blond human began to walk towards him. He ordered all the guards to stand down and Henry began to relax somewhat, leaning back in his chair and staring down the pasty flesh person.

"Greetings Avaritia, I believe we haven't met properly yet. My name is Constophiles, Director Karizawa's advisor for this facility. You are permitted to call me Consto for short. He was supposed to meet you here, but unfortunately unscheduled business prompted him to leave just an hour ago. So I'm taking over his place while he's gone." He introduced himself as the advisor to the head of this place. Good, Henry needed to talk to someone important about this problem he was having.
"Now, enough with the formalities. I was told you were sent to retrieve several Angelic artifacts for us..." An annoyed look passed over Henry's face as he stood up, a portal opening and dumping all manner of Angelic weapons and tomes all over the floor for someone to pick up. When all was said and done there was a pile of pointy objects and books about 5 feet high in the middle of the room, all the things that Henry had picked up in the last battle he was in.

"You're wasting your time and mine with these errands." He said curtly as he coldly looked at the outstretched hand before him. "I'm not stupid, I've seen your pet project in action. The robot meant to imitate the Vassal. You're wasting your time if you think you can build anything meant to take on Titanica, I've seen her in action." Henry walked past Constophiles, the guards tensed up as Henry did so, not relaxing even an iota as Henry walked to the pile of stuff he had left. He began digging through everything when he spoke up once more.

"I don't really care if you waste your time though if I'm being honest. That's your prerogative. However I do care when you start wasting my time. Because if you think, this is going to help you kill a god." Henry pulled out some sort of ornate sword with his bare hands, the holy tempered steel burning his hands as he snapped it in half with his strength alone. He tossed aside the broken metal as his hands already began to heal while continuing his speech. "Then you're either insane or a dullard. Next time you want me to get you something, make sure it's interesting." And with that Henry turned back to Constophiles, a pleasant smile on his face.

"Now then. Bring her out. I want to see the fruits of my labor." He was of course referring to Unit T, but several soldiers looked nervous as they thought he was talking about Tina herself. Henry noted this nervousness but the smile on his face did not fade. He didn't even know of Tina's existence after all.

"Why are you informing me of this?" With that question she lay her whole hand flat. He could feel the underlying fear beneath the facade of annoyance she put up, she was as easy to read as a book. The Demon giggled once more and hopped backwards, straightening out and bowing as he began to introduce himself.

"Because I am Thomas Insania! The Demented Devil of Hell! And I wanted to see the look on your face as you struggled with your own mortality! Because it would be hilarious! And it was!" With that he began to cackle like an absolute madman once again, only stopping once he noticed the new Demon who had shown up. This one was not a Vampire, but he was certainly new. "What about you? Do you fear death? Your mask tells me you fear disease at least, which makes me think you fear the death that follows it." He didn't get nearly as close to Tholman as he had to Apia, instead he just began floating in midair in a relaxed stance. Hands behind head, one foot over the other knee as he reclined in midair to listen to the plague bringer.

VICTOIRE BORDEAUX, THE BLOOD COUNTESS

The aroma of her prized Demon Roses and the shrieking sounds of a swarm of shadow bats preceded Victoire's arrival at bowels of Hell. After her latest attempts at finding entertainment failed, the Blood Countess was beginning to wonder if eternal boredom would be the punishment for whatever sin she might have committed. "'Tis on times like this that I wonder if it would be better if I was like my parents," she thought, before heaving a wistful sigh as she walked through the corridors leading to the Throne Room.

Victoire's objective was simple. She came here to report one of her findings that might hold a special value for the forces of Hell in the future. Even though she fully expected that no one would pay heed to her words, it was still better to play her role straight. "After I'm done reporting, I will likely go there on my own, anyway. The Bloodstone Cave and the Crystal Forest, uh? 'Tis not like that power suits anyone but one of true nobility, after all," Victoire mused out loud as she came upon a certain trio blocking the most of the passage.

The look of disdain was clear in Victoire's eyes as she felt the scent of dirty blood and herbicides wafting from them as she stood there waiting for the trio to get out of the way.

DIANA, THE CLAW OF HEAVENS

Back in the Kingdom of Heaven, Diana walked the down corridors of Celestia after coming back from her trip with Suparna. It was an awesome idea to take a few days to explore the world and have some wild adventures. Diana would certainly be glad to it again in the future. In fact, the dragon girl thought about the wild possibility of going on such trips with certain others but readily dismissed it, knowing that it wouldn't end too well.

Not in the Nexus, at least.

"Anyway, I didn't think that time would fly by this fast. I mean, Valentines is right around the corner, if I don't get 'that' done soon, I'll miss my only chance," Diana said to herself as she made her way to one of a 'shop'; she still needed to get some items to prepare for the upcoming festivities but didn't have much time to acquire them. On her way there, Diana couldn't help but feel the smell of sweets coming from the direction of the Imperator's throne room and wonder if someone else had the same idea as she did.

Love and War are two sides of the same coin, after all.

EOS, SUPREME QUEEN OF THE MACHINA OF MANKIND

The guards that were summarily dismissed by Henry and Karizawa's Assistant stopped dead on their tracks a moment after Henry passed by their side. It wasn't as much fault of his demonic aura, but more of a bit of information that all Machina should know by now, but — as always — was dismissed by TEP's personnel. Before any of them could mention it, a hologram of no one other than the Supreme Queen manifested itself in the hangar.

"Henry, take back your items or I will have to confiscate them," Eos said, addressing the Demon directly. "All of you should know by now that the use of artifacts, spells, technology, and any other source of power from non-sanctioned origins is forbidden. I cannot overlook the dangers that the Angels and the Demons pose to my Children. I may have given the benefit of doubt both to you and to TEP as a whole, but both are still on probation. I believe I told you that before, did I not?"

"This will be the second warning I issue to both of you; please, do not make me do it a third time," Despite her rebuking words, Eos didn't change her usual tone or behaved in any particularly expressive way. She was almost as emotionless and robotic as ever, except for a small tinge of warmth in her speech. In that moment, she was like a mother trying to avoid having to scold her children any harsher. Whether the plea would be acquiesced or not was up to those who heard.

HOHENHEIM, THE ALCHEMIST OF GENESIS

"My my, my Dear Titanica, you seem to have misunderstood the instructions just a little bit, right?" Hohenheim's voice came out of thin air to greet Titanica. Whether the derisive tone was meant to mock or was a legitimate expression of grief, only the Alchemist knew. What was certain is that second later, Titanica would find herself teleported to smallish blond's bedchamber.

The lizard woman would land into a rather soft pile of cushions, stuffed with the best of feathers, laying right beside the fireplace, on the opposite wall of Hohenheim's way-too-large-for-her-size bed.

It wouldn't take long for Hohenheim's pajama-clad figure to emerge from the sea of covers, throwing a sideways look at Titanica. "I guess that I cannot fault you forgetting it when I said that you should come here. You had more... important things in your head, right?" the Alchemist said before a long yawn escaped her throat. "Anyway, give me those materials and let's get done with this once and for all. Once I'm certain that you won't try to stab me in the back, I can give you the information that you seek," she added, extending a lazy hand towards Titanica, right after sluggishly making her way to a writing desk that laid close to a window which had a pretty nice view of the roiling chaos of the Nexus' boundaries — as well as an occasional glimpse of that which holds all of this dimension together.

Beneath the glasslike surface of a crystal pool, something stirred. Moving with the grace of a mermaid, it silently made its presence invisible to wait in due time. After all, trying to approach the Stargazer of all beings was no easy task and required a patience that truly strained the swimming being’s own. It wasn’t until Ciel had been lulled into a serene state that the presence made their move, darting to where it was behind the girl. It also helped that Ciel had plunged nearly her entire body into the water, unknown and unaware to what would strike her…

“Even so, two at once is….” Like a predator of the depths, two hands zipped upwards from their water prison, the palms taking a melon each. They gripped without compromise for letting go and the culprit finally revealed themselves behind Ciel with a violent splash. “Two at once is quite the catch for me,” the voice said in mischievous delight, a girl with silvery long hair appearing. By the way she was smirking, she was enjoying the free show the Stargazer was giving her.

While cosmic calamity was happening in that dimension, more of it would show itself in the realm of Heaven. The Imperator’s throne room was, as usual, starting to become buzzed with the activity of those who had nothing better to do. And try as she might, Ruxen couldn’t just ignore it. It wasn’t in her instinct to and a deep red eye opened itself from her perched position by the meditating Imperator’s feet.

The Beastkin growled, rising and slowly padding over to where Chen was standing. Her ears perked up and she could tell there was someone else here; someone who thought stinking up the throne room with their cooking was a good idea. “Chen, whoever it is, just throw them out the fucking window. Piece of shit making the whole fucking room smell like crap,” she said. It was the most positive she would be getting today.

The advisor looks on as a plethora of angelic items coming flooding out of the portal. He's quite surprised at all the items the ex-demon collected. Karizawa didn't specify on how many things Henry was going to retrieve, unless it was as much as he could. If anything, Constophiles thought it would be a small stack of books and maybe a weapon or two, but never imagined such a stack like this. How was Henry able to get them from the battlefield in one go? Not that it matters really. The pale man approaches the giant stack briefly as he picks up a random book left out from the pile. He looks at the cover briefly, then at the pile, ask the grunts with a gesture to pick everything up, and then looks at Henry.

"My my," he breathes with a sigh, "I didn't expect you'd bring all of this. You've exceeded all expectations, Henry. My expectations, at least. This information will prove to be incredibly valuable for us. You ought to receive something in return..."

Avaritia however seemed to dispute this entire operation, stating that TEP is simply wasting his time. He believes that Unit-T will be incapable of besting the Vassal and claims that he has seen Titanica in action. Ad between the two of them, the organic vassal is most certainly going to win. Constophiles looks back at him with a queried look, before his face began to frown disappointingly, as Henry continued while walking past him.

"You seem lack the faith and vision of this operation Henry." he replies around the same calm tone he's been using, "We know exactly who we're dealing with. And we know all the necessary precautions that we must undertake to get to her. If we hadn't found all that information deep within the Machina archives, none of us would be here even conversing about her."

He begins inspecting the book in his hands.

"While I admit that Unit-T is still not ready to be launched against her organic counterpart just yet," Constophiles continues while flipping a page, "It's already nearing the final phase of completion. These materials that you brought here today will help unlock that stage. It will only be a matter of time before she's finally finished. And only then, once everything is in place, will she be ready to face off against Titanica herself."

The ex-demon didn't seem to care that TEP is wasting his time, as he continues to dig through the treasure with interest. He proceeds to snap an ancient ornate sword in half with his strength alone, tossing aside the broken metal as his hands already began to heal while also mentioning that he and/or Karizawa are basically insane. Constophiles' frown continued to lightly show through his near-emotionless face, expecting the ex-demon to walk away and forget everything. He didn't take any of his opinions to heart, after all he only assists the Director in the project. Many people had considered fighting a Vassal an near impossibility outside from the likes of Eos, or literally any of the faction leaders. Many also told Karizawa the same exact words, only with more vulgaric tones. He expects Henry to lash out at him, or at best leave in a fit...

But what he receives instead is a pleasant smile.

"Now then. Bring her out. I want to see the fruits of my labor."

Constophiles momentarily had a perplexed response regarding his decision to show Unit-T. Unless he somehow knew about Tina's existence... but that seems highly unlikely. Regardless, the advisor smiles lightly back at the ex-demon. He was about to invite him to the hangar bay where the mech was stored, until a certain android pops out of seemingly nowhere via holograph...

"Henry, take back your items or I will have to confiscate them," Eos said, addressing Henry directly.

The advisor's face seemed to already mourn just by looking at the Queen alone. This couldn't have happened at any other worse time then now. Yet he remains externally calm over the matter as he begins trying to converse with the Machina leader.

"My Queen." he greets towards Eos to defuse the situation, "There is no need to worry. For we~"

But she isn't going to have any of it.

"All of you should know by now that the use of artifacts, spells, technology, and any other source of power from non-sanctioned origins is forbidden." Eos announces as she bypasses Constophiles' attempted explanation completely, "I cannot overlook the dangers that the Angels and the Demons pose to my Children. I may have given the benefit of doubt both to you and to TEP as a whole, but both are still on probation. I believe I told you that before, did I not?"

"Yes, my Queen." Constophiles replies with a nod of acknowledgement.

All Eos then was warn them for a second time before the hologram disappears. The pale man sighs defeatedly as he rubs between his ear and temple. There seemed like no other way then to discard the information. If Henry decides to throw them out himself, the advisor simply raises a hand towards him.

"You have done enough for today." he says politely to the ex-demon, "Thank you for the help. Your reward will still be payed in full soon. In the mean time, we will deal in destroying the artifacts here."

His personal guards begin to light up a hot blue plasma from their hands as they aim towards the pile of now seemingly worthless objects.

"You are dismissed... Henry Avaritia."

Titanica was puzzled by what Hoho's voice explained to her about 'misunderstanding' something. She dreaded the fact in doing more fetching work for the alchemist. She already faced a fellow Vassal, or at least something apart of her, talked down a demon working for Roma for the goat leather (and won), managed to collect a feather from a Roc, and utterly eliminated a giant squid. She just wants the answers and to move on, that's it. She growls at that statement before replying, only holding back her wrath by the threads of her flesh.

"What do you mean I misunder~?"

But before she continues, the saurian vassal is teleported into a bedroom, landing on a soft pile of cushions. Her perplexed face appeared briefly as she rapidly looks around her. She was laying next to a warm fireplace, it's glow warming the entire room with cozy-feeling heat, and the bed was incredibly soft. Rarely has she ever planted her head on these pieces of sleeping furniture and neither did any feel this good. It almost made her fall back into her deep slumber just simply by sitting on the bedsheets.

Then Titanica notices another bed on the opposite side of the room, this one being slightly larger than the one she's on. Emerging from the sea of covers popped out Hohenheim, already in pajamas as she threw a sideways look at the Vassal. The scaly-clothed vassal prepared to be bombarded with her egoism... but her yawn seemed that it may not be the case this time.

"I guess that I cannot fault you forgetting it when I said that you should come here. You had more... important things in your head, right?"

For once the alchemist actually said something rather sincere towards her. Her raising anger immediately began to decrease rapidly as her breathing returned to a calm state. The friendly atmosphere here also helps to melt the hostile feeling away.

"Hmph..." Titanica exhales softly as she closes her eyes for a few seconds as she calmly plants her knees on the bed. Even her tail begins to curl up to make itself comfortable on the incredibly soft bed.

Hohenheim then proceeds to give out a lazy hand towards the vassal

"Anyway, give me those materials and let's get done with this once and for all." she asks calmly, "Once I'm certain that you won't try to stab me in the back, I can give you the information that you seek,"

The larger vassal says nothing as she calmly hands over the contract materials towards the small blonde. As she slowly walks to her desk to sign it, Titanica glances at the window above the desk, revealing the vast roiling chaos of the Nexus' boundaries, with the threads of the cosmos holding it together. Any distaste for the alchemist was, for the moment, pushed to the side as she takes a long minute to observe the Nexus in its entirety. It was indeed an impressive sight to behold. The calm room with the warm fire continued to sooth away all of her stresses in a way unlike anything she has felt... something rather different compared to her lair back in Hell. It was something she welcomed... and perhaps something she unknowingly needs.

Titanica continues to stay silent as she continues looking outside while her mind distantly waited for Hoho to finish... but she wouldn't mind if it took longer than expected, so as long as she remains in this environment.

"Do you fear the reality of your jokes being fuckin' terrible?"

A cold blunt voice can be heard from down the hall as the sound of boots clunking gets closer to the group. Ghelgath isn't particularly the kind of person to get involved with these types of situations, but god is this psycho person starting to tick him off. He has only rarely seen Thomas around here, but when he does he always hears him cracking a bad joke or pun, or perhaps trying to annoy someone just for his amusement. He hadn't approached the lich king yet, and good thing he didn't, but now the circumstances had turned. And it was only because he was simply walking by here. He stops just several meters from the group, noticing Apia, Tholman, and Victorie for only for a brief moment, as he gives an annoyed glare at Insania.

"Like seriously..." he continues as his cold eyes focus on his chillingly, "Can ya just shut up for one damn moment or somethin'? Nobody's laughin' here, other than your crazy ass. Go fetch yourself some talent or don't fuckin' bother with us, ya brainless loon."

The group can also see a certain scarf thats wrapped around his neck. While two will barely take notice of it, one may recognize it all too well.

After leaving her new wolf friend, Sheena had proceeded to occupy herself by just wandering around the area, feeling she might as well enjoy this moment of peace while she had the chance. At one point though, her hat started to squirm and she took it off only for it to form into her familiar, Shade, "What's wrong, partner?" Her friend pointed to a balcony overlooking the kingdom and she got the message, "Ah, gotcha,"

She placed her friend on the railing of said balcony so they could look out over at everything. Sheena had to admit that while some of the Angels around here tended to be full of themselves, they certainly had some really gorgeous architecture, from the marble palaces and roads to the waterfalls flowing down the small floating islands. As she was watching though, her familiar tapped her on the side, "Hmm?" Shade opened up her bag and pulled out her violin, causing the witch to blush, "Really? Now of all places?"

Her familiar pushed the violin towards her insistently, making Sheena roll her eyes, "I don't know...I don't want us to get in trouble for causing a commotion, and you knows I'm not the best at this..."

"If that is the case, you will not improve unless you practice..." came a voice that only Sheena could hear. She glanced down at her familiar but their mouth did not move, "Besides, when have you and I/Us cared about rules?" They seemed to wear the barest hint of a smirk at this.

Sheena let out a long sigh before picking up said violin, "Fine, but only for you...and if we get in trouble, you're taking the fall." Shade's only response was to grab Sheena's Void Pouch and start pulling out cookies to munch on. The witch took a seat as she readied herself and started to play the violin, and although the tunes started off with a bit of an awkward and even harsh tone, Sheena pressed onwards and soon found herself playing a more sweet and elegant tune which flowed through the air around them.

Anyone passing through would almost certainly being able to pick up on it....

Saef Harken-Ciel's Observatory

Saef had to admit, this place was beautiful. Fields of lilies spread out to either side of the path he traversed. The light of the silver moon overhead caught on the white petals of the flowers and turned the entire field into a scene of natural wonder that took his breath away. It was a reassuring feeling, knowing that there were still things that could do that to him.

At the end of the path sat his destination. An unassuming looking observatory at the edge of a cliff. As the thaumaturge got closer he could make out mystical symbols carved or inlaid into the outer walls. The building possessed a definite Heavenly theme to it but for the most part it was just an observatory, much the same as those he might have found back home before the war.

It added to his ever increasing curiosity about the owner. Lots of people knew about her. She was even pretty popular with many of the younger angels and celestial beings. Not many of her fans seemed to actually know her though. The few older beings he could get to talk to him hinted that there was more to the Stargazer than met the eye but wouldn't say anything more on the subject. Turns out being an upstart human who used copious amounts of technology wasn't the best way to make friends with the brass in the exalted, gilded, and highly stagnant halls of Celestia.

All the hints and teasing bits of information had engaged his curiosity like a high powered electromagnet. He couldn't bear not knowing anything like this. Not even in the almost completely unknown universe of the Nexus. So here he was, without his armor and walking along a starlit path in search of answers.

His boots thumped softly on stone as he made his way up the stairs at the front of the building. At the top he paused a moment. This place shone with as much magic as any major location he'd seen thus far. Whoever Ciel was she was definitely more than a simple stargazer.

But you already knew that didn't you.

With a shake of his head he steeled his nerves and crossed the final few steps to the door of the observatory. Saef raised a hand and gave the fish shaped door knocker three solid thuds.

Amaterasu wandered through the halls of her factional home. Nothing was on her mind aside from faint emotions and tasks, and even then she couldn't understand if her faint emotions were real or just one emotion to varying degrees. Was happiness really just a low level of melancholy? Was anger just a negative value of excitement? Amaterasu was unsure.

What she was sure of, however, was the definite affairs of an Ascendant in her superior's business. Saef Harken, the accomplished thaumaturge of Heaven's ranks, was currently attempting to engage with Ciel the Stargazer. Why this was, Amaterasu was uncertain, but it "troubled" her regardless. What this might spell out for Heaven is risky and dangerous at worse, and slightly harmful at best. The wrath that the people of Heaven might face as a result was what truly caused Amaterasu unease. After weighing her options, she followed behind Saef, at a fair distance but still decently close.

She walked behind him through the moonlit lily path, feeling nothing about them but some degree of something. Tolerance? Uncaring? Whatever it was, it was minor at best. The stone pathway was approached as Amaterasu felt the powerful presence of something, but it was vague. Likely the power coming off of Ciel, if Amaterasu had to guess.

As Saef knocked on the door to Ciel's observatory, Amaterasu sat down in the air, floating above the ground, as she meditated to herself, preparing for whatever would come next. The feeling of something in her heart told her she should be ready, but she still couldn't name what it was.

Apia simply sighed at the sound of Insania losing his shit about her "death". Did she really die? She felt more alive than she had ever felt before, but then again... maybe she was dead. Vampires were undead... oh. She was... was she? This... this would need to be thought about later.

Before long, an annoyed Victoire appeared in the area where the congregation of Demons was socializing, and better yet, so was- Oh my god he's actually wearing it. Apia stared at Ghelgath before she realized she was in the way of Victoire. After she realized, she hovered over towards Ghelgath with a softer smile, finally landing as she stood beside him.

"You're... actually wearing it..." Apia couldn't believe it. The scarf looked so good on him! The baby blue color matched his hair and everything! It was perfect. It made her wings flutter with excitement beyond any reasonable measure. The last time she felt this happy was when she finished her bedroom in the Honey Rod Dimension. It was amazing. Absolutely amazing.

Sapphire Pink

As Chen rounded the corner, he found her right side up on the ground, as though her strange sideways ear peek into the room had never happened. "Heya Chen, good to see you're doing ok! Well, I heard that cookies were a good apology food, but not when they have peanut butter or chocolate for dogs. And I heard wine was a good apology food, so I brought both! Surely, one or the other will work, right?" Pink bounced eagerly as she explained herself, excited energy oozing from her. Literally, in the trail of sparkles that followed in her wake. A cookie nearly shook itself free from the overburdened plate laden with them. The bottle of wine was about half empty already, and the cork was lose, explaining the scent. At least, it seemed, Pink's understanding of the culinary arts wasn't so bad that she had mixed the oatmeal raisin cookies with the Reisling wine during the cooking phase. The cookies on the other hand seemed to range a variety from overcooked to undercooked, so, only about a third of them were actually cooked the right amount of time. There weren't any that were completely black or raw, but still, some were still gooey while others a bit hard. Pink seemed to have only achieved one decent batch by trial and error.

As Ruxen herself came close, Pink leaned to the side to see around Chen, a rather unusual lean where she simply angled herself, like a pole falling over, with none of the usual counterbalances or putting a leg out to stand on and such someone who had actual weight would have to do. "Ruxen, I came to apologize for earlier! I brought cookies and wine for you! And Chen and Deva if they'd like!" She held forth the bottle of wine and plate of cookies, leaning out a little further still to give a wink at Deva, her feet not quite touching the ground.

Henry frowned as Eos showed her face, chastising the two of them for bringing holy artifacts into Hyperion. A confused look passed over his face as he considered how the orders he got from TEP and from Eos herself were clashing, but that conflict quickly resolved itself once he came to the conclusion that Eos's orders were always a higher priority. Then an annoyed look settled onto his face. This is why he only took orders from Eos herself, he got in trouble when he listened to people who weren't Eos or Roma. "I suppose I'll just have to destroy all this then." His eyes began to glow a bright Silver as he prepared to annihilate all the holy equipment, but Constophiles stopped him.

The pale man politely told him that he had done enough and that he would be payed regardless. The annoyed expression on Henry's face faded along with the intense glow of his Eyes, settling into a neutral bored look. "Like I said. Next time, find me something interesting to grab. Preferably something that won't get me in trouble with my boss." And with that Henry walked out, having completely forgotten about wanting to see Unit-T. As he left the building he stopped in his tracks and recalled the conversation one last time.

"Thank you for the help. Your reward will still be payed in full soon..."

"I'm getting paid for this? Holy shit this place is awesome." He muttered to himself as he made his way to Bastion and Roma's apartment. Time to unwind with fruit, tea, and friends.

Chen hummed lightly as he considered the cookies and wine Pink had brought as a peace offering. Ruxen wanted him to throw her out the window and while Chen would always follow the orders of Lady Deva and all her "pets", that bottle of wine did look quite good. He took a cookie from the plate and observed it quietly, not quite baked all the way, but at least it wasn't just raw cookie dough. Honestly he was pleasantly surprised that Pink hadn't somehow mixed the wine into the cookies, it seems like something she would do. Chen tasted the cookie to make sure there were no poisons that could harm Lady Deva, he did have a job to do. After a moment of chewing he swallowed the bite and considered Pink with a wary eye.

"I've certainly had worse. Lady Ruxen." Chen turned his gaze to Ruxen, who was just as grumpy as ever. "Are you really going to turn down free food and wine? I would suggest trying the food before you settle on throwing her out the window." He took another bite of the cookie and made a small sound of enjoyment. "Pink, if you're going to stay around then there is one condition." After finishing the cookie he turned back to Pink with his usual steely gaze. "Please refrain from touching anyone without their permission. Some people don't like hugs." Chen said that, but really he was probably going to cause some amusing accident without anyone noticing. It was honestly quite funny when Pink attached to Ruxen like a bear trap. He knew that Lady Deva enjoyed it too, she did love her "cute animals."

Thomas's attention was caught by Ghelgath's poor attempt to shoo him away, immediately noticing the scarf on his neck and the smell of undead bees that emanated from it. He floated towards Ghelgath slowly, his feet touching upon the ground as he snickered. As if it wasn't clear enough who made the scarf, Apia fawned over Ghelgath like a puppy whose owner had picked up a ball she had dropped in front of him. "Well well well Ghelgath. I didn't think you were the noble type. I would say its adorable how you've come to the rescue of your little girlfriend, but we both know you don't swing that way considering how much you suck Rufus's dick." Thomas snickered once again and began circling around the two of them with that same insane grin.

"But I'm not here to insult you. That's just a bonus. I'm here to let the you and popsicle know that someone didn't appreciate the mess you two left in the dungeons." Thomas looked at Apia that same insane grin, as it slowly turned cruel. He stopped in front of the throne room's door and pointed over his shoulder at it, a look of superiority in his eyes as he stared at Ghelgath and Apia. "Someone in there as a matter of fact. A very important someone in there." He began laughing once again, disappearing in a burst of speed and reappearing a few feet away from Victoire's left side. "Remember kids, always clean up after you're done eating! Otherwise you'll get a slap on the wrist and a involuntary lobotomy." Thomas was practically cackling at this point, relishing in being the bearer of bad news, that same cruel grin stuck firmly on his face.

Sometime In the Past
A collab between @Lmpkio and @Gardevoiran

Feeding in Hell was a taxing chore for Apia. Sure, the dungeons were ripe for the taking, and she might head after those in a while, but it didn't suit Apia to eat food simply handed to her. She wanted food with a real kick to it, maybe even moreso then she was willing to take on alone. Either way, she found herself a heavy concentration of raw power coming from a yonder direction in Hell, and it was too tantalizing to pass it up right now! The queen was busy in pursuits of this power source, the upper part of her outfit stained crimson red with the blood of her previous victims that she took on the way here.

After a few more minutes of flying, Apia finally located the power source to be... oh. THAT Vassal. Apia had remembered meeting Titanica on the battlefield once before, but that was so long ago to the queen that she had long forgotten the actual essence and feeling that Titanica's power provided. Either way, it seemed like a glorious meal to drink the blood of not just any Vassal, but the blood of the one that spent most of her free time in Hell's depths. Though... there was something that needed changing...

A few bees flew out of the Honey Rod as Apia spied on Titanica, and in a hushed voice they were given their order, hopefully without the giant Vassal noticing that there was a new person close by.

The bees find Titanica sound asleep within a pool of molten magma. She's already snoring quite loudly, as she changes position from laying on her right side to her left, her plates retaining the heat produced by the volcanic steam. The Vassal has been sleeping for quite sometime, perhaps several years undisturbed within her lair. No one, other than Wayne occasionally checking in, has dared to come within her for a much longer period of time. Normally her rumbling snores would deter most characters from entering in, yet today was different. As the buzzing got closer to the sleeping vassal, Titanica suddenly picks up the faint vibration of the flapping wings. At first, she tries to ignore it, thinking that it was coming from within her sub-conscious. Was it a dream? Or was it coming directly outside?

But the buzzing continues to ring through her head, eventually reaching her ears. And that's when she concluded the following...

Someone's here.

A deep groan rumbles throughout the cave as the mighty beast begins to wake up. Her tail raises up from the burning lava, dripping from her spines, as it crashes down with a massive splash, issuing lava droplets to spew out onto the surface of the black obsidian. Titanica's eyes snap open as she looks what was making that awful noise. The obnoxious sound of fluttering bees. These bees couldn't have appeared from a random portal leading to the overworld. Someone must be controlling them nearby. With that now apparent, she raises her toned body from the pool, lava dripping down her skin as she plants her foot onto the hardened lava bed. Once on the surface, she issues a thundering roar that echoes throughout the cave, a warning for all nearby to stay away.

For what fool dares to disturb her peaceful slumber?

Ducking behind a nearby rock, Apia feels the anger booming from the nearby Vassal. This was probably an awful time to try and steal some of her delicious blood, but was there ever a good time? Probably not, but now was especially awful for it.

Another bee rushed out of the Honey Rod and seemingly threw a limb towards Apia in confirmation that something was about to happen, and Apia smirked deviously as she peeked from behind the rock to see if she would be safe. Of course, 'safe' was a stretch, but it's the best word to describe it at this point.

Apia pointed towards the air above Titanica's back as she began to concentrate, keeping an eye out towards TItanica in case something went awry.

"Please don't see me, please don't see me, please don't see me..."

Titanica's nose sniffs the air for any sign of the intruder. Her keen sense of smell allows her to pick up the faintest smells, making her able to pinpoint on a single target for up to several miles away. At first, she only picks up the thick smell of sulfur dioxide emitting from the surrounding area...

But then she picks up something else... a smell she hasn't sensed for generations. The sweet smell of honey. It was an admittedly welcoming scent to wake up to, but nonetheless proves that someone happens to bee nearby. Someone that has access to honey bees. Titanica is mostly considered a predominant carnivore, yet like a hungry bear coming out from hibernation, even she can't resist a sweet treat to mix things up. She follows her nose down the cave, her footsteps thundering down the hallway as the gets closer to her target. Eventually, she approaches a cavern clearing that is thick with the smell of honey...

As well the unmistakable smell of fear.

And it all emits off a single large rock near the opposite side of the cavern. There it is. And so Titanica creates a portal and enters through, only to pop out right behind Apia. The vassal grips the bee lady with a powerful hand, lifting her off the floor as she grips the base of her throat. There's the culprit, a ripe yellow-n-black queen bee lady, petite and utterly defenseless. She emits a low guttural groan as she licks her chops with seemingly lascivious intent.

"There you are." she speaks in a low voice as she sniffs her briefly, the sweet smell dancing in her nostrils. The Bee is looking much more appetizing by the minute.

"SHITSHITSHIT-GACK" Apia's mind was cut off by the sudden grip to her neck, her hands shifting to adjust for the sudden change in location of her target. "T-Titanicaaa... h-heeyyy... n-nice boots... what are they, winter ones...?" Apia was trying all the small talk in her arsenal in order to stall for time. The treat was so close to her, and she was so close to it as well. She just needed to sweeten the deal.

A small portal opened up in the air behind Titanica before Apia simply frowned in her mind. Nothing was coming out of it yet. What was taking her sweeties so long?

All Apia could do was stare into the eyes of Titanica with her awkward smile reeking of pure unedited guilt.
