Carl Vernon does not have comeplete control over his light energy and wears his 'photosuit' to contain the power which surges through him, without it, his body randomly expels overwhelming energy which can shock regular people into a coma. Bio: Very little is known about Carl Vernon, some reports from Eclipse Agents say that he has a son ( Carl Vernon Jr) and that he has a background in photography but how he received his powers is a complete mystery. Status: Active

He then made the mistake of robbing a high ranking member the Knaves Syndicate in East Maximum. But instead of killing the desperate boy, he sent him to a top secret criminal training ground, to become an assasin where could 'pay off' his debt of attempted robbery. After 10 years working for the Knaves, Grayson faked his own death, went independent, and took up the identity of 'Blackshot' hoping that the Knaves Mob would never find out who he really was. It is rumored that he was given his powers in exchange for working for someone but the parties involved remain a mystery. Status: Active
Name: Valencia Matthews Quote:One day, I'm sure I'll wake up from this and laugh. Alias:Graffiti Age: 24 Gender: Female Family: Foster Parents: Joe and Kyra Matthews. Occupation: Former Police Scientist Recruit. Appearance:
Before receiving her powers, Valencia would typically wear skater wear on the weekends or hiking gear on holidays. But while in the recruitment process for the Police Science division she would always dress smart in shirts and dress pants for work, although she hated how boring the attire was, She would always wear a CitySick brand streetwear t-shirt underneath her white dress shirt as to feel a bit more normal in such an enviroment. Since her job has ended she regularly wears flanel shirts and shorts when out and about.
Valencia is 5'4 and 112 pounds.
The hoodie worn in this costume has a special dye that reacts to the light, by focusing her powers she can either have the colours settle and go thick and dark to blend in with the shadows or she she can excite the chemicals to glow neon. Underneath the hoodie is a stab proofvest. She usually also wears a rucksack which holds extra spray paint and various other items.
Superpower: Ironically, Graffiti's powers have nothing to do with paint. Her actual only superpower is to control air pressure in a short space around her. On its own the power is fairly weak, she can only use it against enemies when in closequarters which is dangerous, and the air pressure manipulation is only strong enough to knock a few grown men off their feet with air burst up close. She can also make breathing for others difficult or impossible by manipulating the air pressure in their lungs, but this can only be done up-close and personal. She can make her close combat moves slightly more effective by increasing velocity of the air of where shes attacking and also use air bursts to 'air dash' quickly in directions to evade attacks or run faster in her own personal slipstream, though this takes massive concentration.
Equipment Graffiti becomes an effective vigilante when she combines her power with her equipment, her 'spray paint' is actually made up of chemicals she stole from the police science department before she was fired. He chemical knowledge has allowed her to make weaponised or gadgetised paint.
The blue spray paint is a strong tear gas which is used to disorentate opponents.
The yellow spray paint is a sleeping gas which can knock out weak opponents, or make stronger ones, drowsy and slow
The orange spray paint is an extremely high pressure propellent gas, with combined with Graffiti's powers she can use as 'Jetpack Cans' to take off and fly for a limited amount of time as long as the can has the gas. (two full cans can keep her flying for about 20 mins)
The Green spray paint is a powerful acid, that when focused can burn through brick walls like it was paper. This is mainly used as in infiltration tool.
On top of these cans she carries the 'paintball gun' (pictured) which fires paint balls filled with a super powerful adhesive glue. The velocity of these shots is not actually dictated by the very weak paintball gun (made to look like a submachine gun for intimidation) but by Graffiti's own air pressure powers which she can use to alter the power and speed of each shot mentally.
Abilities and Skills:
Outisde of her powers, Valencia is very good shape due to her athletic and active lifestyle and physical training in the police. She is trained in the use of basic firearms although she only really ever uses her paintball gun. Has very in depth understanding of chemicals and radical science. She is also extremely streetwise and can hold her own in a fight although she has never formally trained in any martial arts outside of a crash combat course in the police.
Biography: Valencia was left on the doorstep of a foster parents agency at the age of 1, in Millennium City. Her mother, who was 17 at the time was an illegal immigrant from Italy who was escaping an abusive much older boyfriend who she fell pregnant by. She left a note on the doorstep simply saying: 'Please look after my Valencia, I am too young to care for her'.
The baby was then taken into the care system and placed with the Matthews' a young but strict catholic couple living in a lower middle-class area of the city. She was raised with care but not love, her parents never saw her as their own and she rejected the catholic girls school she sent them to. Which lead her to become somewhat rebellious. She then embraced the 'Skater/Graffiti' lifestyle and began skipping school around the age of 17. She also started dating the local burnout slacker Mark Kruger. Mark was a drug addict mainly known for sniffing substances and wasting the entire day smoking pot and dodging college. He dragged Valencia into his loser lifestyle and her grades suffered. She was very much in love with him until he began stealing from her to fund his drug habit at which point she got her life together and promptly left him. She then became passionate about chemistry as to further understand his substance addiction. She then decided to take up a career in police science.
At the age of 23 on her first week on the force. She got a call from her Ex boyfriend Mark who told her he was off drugs now and doing a law degree. He wanted to meet her to congratulate her getting a new job and apologize for his behavior as a teen. Although she was very shocked to hear from him she was happy that he seemed to have turned his life around, so she agreed to meet him after work outside the lab.
Unfortunately, Mark was lying about everything he not only hadn't quit drugs he was now a dealer and dangerous criminal. He knew that the precinct held many chemicals and contraband drugs that Valencia's keycard could get him into. So upon their 'date' Mark and several gang members attack Valencia and forced her to let them into the chemical lab with her. Holding her as a hostage while the subdued the nightwatch guard and began to ransack the place. In the frenzy of the robbery Mark knocked over a shelf of dangerous chemicals which caused a powerful explosion which killed everyone in the room except Valencia who was breathing irregularly surrounded by a strong gale of wind even though they were indoors.
After the incident, Valencia was cleared of any involvement but left the police due to trauma of the event. She would then return to the skater lifestyle focusing on artwork and started working at a spraypaint store, but she couldnt find peace of mind, she was still angry with Mark and his criminal behaviour so she began a secret life as vigilante, using her newfound air pressure abilities to take on criminals (specifically chemical drug pushers) as a character of her former life, the mysterious Graffiti!

Interference wears a caped, white enamel androgynous power suit that is easily mistaken for a robot. It looks something like the following image.
But the head has a single red camera in the center like the following image.
Name: Dr. Fang Ai Ling (Dr. Eileen Fang)
Quote:
"Last year, Earth had a visitor from another planet who had a grudge match that leveled a small town. We learned that not only are we not alone but we are hopelessly, hilariously, outgunned. And you're not the only threat. The world's filling up with people who can't be matched, that can't be controlled. You forced our hand. We had to come up with something."
-Nick Fury
Alias: Interference, or Dr. Fang
Age: 35
Gender: Female
Occupation: Government researcher/superhero team hero recruiter/team leader
Abilities:
Eileen has the ability to control phenomena that exhibit mathematical wave behavior starting with sound and light, possibly getting into gravitational waves in the future. She uses technology to augment her abilities relying on harmonics. The light and sound is emitted and absorbed/detected from her body (skin). She is also blessed with a very high intelligence.
Sound Wave Emission/Reception: Eileen can emit as well as absorb/hear audible sound as well as sound outside the audible range, allowing her to mimic voices, make herself completely silent, send out shockwaves, fire disorienting beams of ultrasound, produce the brown note, have superhearing, tell when people are lying, etc.
EM Wave Emission/Reception: Eileen can emit and absorb/see visible light as well as light outside the visible spectrum allowing her to fire microwaves, create flashbangs, camouflage, have x-ray vision, night-vision, etc.
Gravitic Wave Emission/Reception: Not yet.
Weaknesses:
Her power is purely offensive, her body has typical human frailty. Her armor protects her somewhat, but isn't that strong, and cannot withstand a direct punch from someone with 'peak physical condition'. Without her suit, her power is also extremely unfocused due to waves' natural behavior to dissipate in all directions and losing power as a function of distance. Her most powerful abilities also often requires specific conditions for maximum effect, namely the creation of acoustic/harmonic zones with the aid of her swarm.
Equipment:
Power Suit: Provides minor protection, mainly used to focus or augment her sound and light abilities, gives her control of her 'locusts'.
Surveillance Swarm: a swarm of microrobot drones in the form of beetles/locusts used mainly for spying and eavesdropping, though Eileen can also use them offensively by laying them around in intricate patterns that amplify the harmonics of an area, augmenting her powers.
Blast Bludgeon: a long, bat-like triangular rod that functions like a tuning fork. Eileen uses this to triangulate the harmonic frequencies of objects she strikes with it. After several strikes, she is able to determine the vibrational frequency that is most destructive to the particular material she is striking. She already knows what frequency works best for concrete and bone-through-flesh.
Bio:
Eileen went through her life as a model citizen. Eileen was obedient and went through life without incident. She was disciplined to achieve success and perfection in her studies through harsh parenting, and the occasional use of a makeshift sensory deprivation chamber as punishment for the rare times her grades dipped. Despite that, she seems well-adjusted enough. Her intellect allowed her to achieve a high profile academic career doing research for the government. Her research is in optronics: using photons instead of electrons for data storage and transfer. Optronics will be significantly faster and more powerful than electronics, so Eileen plans to make artificial intelligence based on optronic hardware. Mostly her work is in weapons development, creating efficient laser weapons and sensor technology for the military, as well as various surveillance applications for internal policing and espionage. However, to harness light and sound in this way, Eileen relies on special piezoelectric crystals of alien origin, unearthed from what seems to be an ancient crash site, secretly guarded by the government. While trying to deduce the refractive and acoustic properties of the crystals in order to create devices to harness them, an accident occurred, resulting in Eileen acquiring a mastery over the wave phenomena the crystals exhibited. With a keener understanding of sound and light, Eileen dove deeper into her research, though she now had a new goal: to use her research and her powers for the betterment of mankind. Leveraging her research position and her overall compliant nature, she hopes to receive the government's blessings to start a program to recruit and utilize superpowered individuals. Early in her life, due to her intelligence, she saw the governments of the world as inherently broken, but she did not succumb to angst and rebellion. She sees super-powered individuals as the catalyst necessary to subjugate the old conflicting governments and create a new united utopia for Earth; an Earth that can stand toe-to-toe with the allies and enemies in the galaxy and the universe at large. Her final ambition is to establish a Star Trek-esque United Federation of Planets, with Earth at the center, securing a dominant place for Earth in the universe. Her intentions are pure, but her methods may be a little extreme as she has no qualms with 'sterilizing', cleansing or purging the world of the 'old order' as she sees necessary.

Here's something happy~
And here's something a little more...contradictory and noisy~
Name: Yao-"Zhen" Khan Quote: "Courage is not the absence of fear, but action in the face of it." Alias: 仮面浪人 - The Masked Ronin Age: 20 Gender: Male Occupation: Student; College | 自警団 (Jikei-dan) - Vigilante
Abilities: Master Martial Artist - From the moment he could comprehend knowledge, he was trained in Kenjutsu, Kyokushin and Shotokan Karate to their fullest degree. Although well-versed in Ninjutsu, his family's variant is more focused on the sword and samurai like weaponry. He also possesses his own fighting style which is very reminiscent to Iaido. This is possible with the weapon he has as his slightly enhanced physical prowess allowed him to quick draw the blade as though it were a Uchigatana.
Enhanced Athleticism - Yao-Zhen was born with physical traits above those of typical humans, as continually passed down to him through his family line. These abilities have been further enhanced with his father's training him complementary to his particular skill set.
Peak-Human Strength - While not necessarily on the same comparable level as his other enhanced areas, he is as strong as an ordinary human can get through training their body.
Peak Human Speed - He is fast as a human can be, able to run up to 30 mph. He could catch-up to some moving vehicles but not outrun or more faster than them on his own speed alone.
Avid Free-Runner - Although not a superpower, nor necessarily applicable for combat situations, this was a skill that Yao-Zhen turned into a hobby to maintain his physical body.
Enhanced Learning Capacity - By no means is it a heightened level of intelligence per se, but more so an ability to allow him to naturally learn more in a smaller time frame.
Weaknesses: Although very elusive, he is not necessarily more durable than an average human can handle. His endurance can allow him to work through pain and injury, but, he will eventually succumb to them. Further, he is not immune to other typical human weaknesses, such as starvation, dehydration, suffocation, poison, sickness/disease, impalement, extreme pressures, or telepathic abilities.
Equipment: Although his father's arsenal of Bushi weaponry is within his grasp, Zhen can only take several things into battle with him. His preference lies in:
Tachi Sword - Passed down from generation to generation. According to his father's explanation of their history, it was passed down from the clan of Shinobi-esc Ronin that their family originated from, known as "The Masked Devils". On the blade itself, just above the habaki is inscribed "悪霊" or "fiend". The guard is larger and the handle is extended to the point where it is a little below a Nagamaki. This is his main weapon, and it seems to be made of some unknown material that prevents it from fracture or bending. This material, though, also prevents it from being sharpened any further. The origins of the Devil Sword's creation remain unknown.
Smoke Pellets - To go along with the shtick of actually being a demon, The Masked Ronin carries smoke pellets of varying degrees of distance to make entrances and disappearances. These are often used as a diversion, getaway option, and means to draw fear in the hearts of enemies.
Dual Tanto - Essentially two curved knives in a design similar to Wakizashi and Katana.
Biography: Zhen was born of Yashida and Miya Khan, the latter of which died in childbirth. He was the youngest in a family among the infamous criminal organization known as the "Yakuza". It warred with the Triads in Little Asia for many years are around and they wanted Zhen to be part of it. His father, Yashida was a world-class assassin known only as 'Kamen Ronin' or 'Mask Ronin' in Japanese. He had taken his youngest son, Zhen, and trained him in the ways of Ninjutsu. It was his family tradition to maintain its honor, as their clan of Ronin had long died out as a group, to only being in their family line.
Becoming a father had changed Yashida's mindset, not wanting the life he had for his son. Though, he was in much too deep with the Yakuza Clan by this point. Attempting to leave it all would be suicide. Despite this, he tried to make the best of a bad situation by raising his son to be virtuous and a positive contribution to society, thus raising him in the virtues of Bushido.
Zhen had always looked up to his father, even if he was once a willful murderer. Yashida Khan was killed in a battle with the villain known to be Nightslash, three years ago. It was not too long after his father's death, that he had discovered his father's arsenal of thes clan hidden in a shrine within his father's old room. Among the items was his family's heirloom, a Tachi named the "Fiend". He had never actually touched it before, but it was stated that this was cursed by Izanami to his family. Zhen trained himself in how to use the weapon in tandem with his training, creating his own fighting style with it.
Still, he because of his father's loss, Zhen didn't want to take up the mantle and often resided in sadness. He didn't believe that he could ever live up to the legacy of his family, and it was a rather crushing blow for him. So, he fell into the lap of the Yakuza, and merged into a boarding school for them to try gaining influence there.
With his father gone, however, the fear of The Masked Ronin seemed to have went with him. The violence and death had increased dramatically. Innocent people were getting caught in the crossfire. Zhen had never forgotten his father's teachings as he continued growing among the Yakuza. He decided that he was going to aid the city by doing what he was trained to, using his skills to fight against the criminals.
Something else that he also learned, was the keep his identity secret. That way, no one that he loved or cared about got hurt. That was a year ago though. The return of the Masked Ronin, along with his increased energy and inspiration wouldn't go unnoticed by higher ups of the Yakuza...
Name: Eliott Reider / Seven Quote: "I have learned things in the dark that I could never have learned in the light, things that have saved my life over and over again, so that there is really only one logical conclusion. I need darkness as much as I need light." - Barbara Brown Taylor Alias: Blackout Age: 21 Gender: Female Occupation: Student / Waitress
◈ ◈ ◈ ◈ ◈
Abilities: Shadow Rending - The manipulation of shadows, specifically to help mask oneself. Eliott can conceal her body in complete darkness, silence her footsteps, and make occasional bursts of speed in an anointed direction. Weaknesses: Physically Weak - Although Eliott is pretty well-trained, she isn't all that powerful. In terms of offence and defence she can't hold her own, unless she's running away or hiding. She desperately wants to learn some kind of self defence with her power, however isn't sure if it is even possible. Heat Detection; Scent Detection - She's invisible to sight and sound, not smell and touch. She is especially wary of the police because of this. Equipment: Stun Batons - Eliott has two stun batons which she can use to quickly incapacitate enemies, made back when she first operated as a member of Ark. The batons have the option to turn the shock mechanism on or off. Smoke Grenades - For when Eliott needs to make a quick escape or cause a distraction, these babies come in handy. She has a small stock of them at home, though they'll be running out soon. Stun Gun - This semi-auto pistol-looking taser allows Eliott to electrocute and incapacitate those at a distance (50m). It is custom-made and fires what is essentially paintballs which have been electrically charged. The magazine carries eight balls and the gun is prone to jamming, so she tries not to use it often.
◈ ◈ ◈ ◈ ◈
Bio: Until ten years ago, Eliott Reider didn't actually exist. There were no records, no parents, and nobody that went by that name. However there was a girl who looked a lot like Eliott. Her name was Seven.
Like all people in this world, Seven was conceived and born the human way. Her mother adored her, her father loved her, yet neither love nor adoration can save you in a car crash. She was orphaned at two years old, being one of the unlucky babies not chosen for adoption. She stayed an orphan for two more years, till she was adopted by an elderly scientist, a man who would later call himself "Father John". A man who would erase the name she once knew, and give her the name she now knew best: Seven.
There were twenty-seven more children in the building with white walls, white coats, white doors, each only slightly older or slightly younger than Seven. She connected with three others: Eleven, Four, and Eighteen. Eleven and Four were boys, Eighteen being another girl. Despite how different each of them were, they shared a common denominator which made each of them identical in the eyes of Father John and his team: They were Gaps. Gaps being those that fit neither mutant superhuman nor regular human. They were rare children afflicted with a rare condition which resulted in a lack of genetic code for superpowers. In other words, for them there wasn't an "on" for mutant powers or an "off" for standard human written in their genetic code. There was a gap.
They were tested on because of this. Gifted the powers of extraordinary humans through genetic manipulation, the children were subject to tests. Tests, false promises of painlessness, and heartbreak. Many former friends died when exposed to their inherited power. Technology had not advanced far enough to save the unlucky or unfit. However, those that survived were much stronger than their former selves. They could do things no normal human could. They became incredibly powerful.
For six years they withstood the tests. Numbers were counted down, till those that remained could be counted on your fingers. Seven, Eleven, Four, Eighteen, Thirteen, Twenty-Two, Twenty, Nine, Twelve. Eventually, Seven broke out. Along with her friends, they ran and ran and never looked back, using their powers to escape. They hid in LA, survived in LA, became people again in LA. They went to school, got adopted by good folk, and lived their lives like normal people. But they weren't normal. The guilt of leaving those behind, forgotten, ate away at them
Four years ago, Ark was created. Today it resurfaces to bring about what it couldn't in LA after its year-long run. To make sure the same mistakes are not repeated, Seven has started the operation alone, her only friends gone after losing Eighteen. This is to make sure nobody gets hurt. That the only one who could be held responsible being herself. To make sure nobody she cares about dies again. Ark will succeed in its mission. It will scare and terrorise, but never kill. It will get what it wants before injustice can be dealt. It needs to succeed this time.
It has to. Eliott herself is rather shy and withdrawn. She doesn't like speaking up or making her presence known, instead being a silent observer to the world. That is, unless a book has caught her interest. She reads books religiously, always trying to expand her knowledge or otherwise read something fun. She enjoys the activity very much and usually visits the university library between classes to read. She does have a bit of a nerd side too, and prefers spending time home alone playing games than social interactions, though isn't completely against nor afraid of them.
When operating as Blackout, Eliott's personality does a complete 180. She goes from the shy academic bookworm to the insane acrobatic joker. Blackout is completely carefree when it comes to showing off, which she does quite a bit, trying to do good on her phantom vigilante image. In fact she cares rather deeply about her image and how she, as well as the rest of Ark, is seen by the public, in an effort to make sure her motives can be identified and not mislabeled as a villain. Blackout is cocky and thinks very highly of herself, however is also incredibly cautious.
◈ ◈ ◈ ◈ ◈
Relationships: Four - One of Eliott's only friends. Shes known him since childhood through inconvenient circumstances. He's rather serious and a little cold, though warms to those he's close to. Current whereabouts are unknown, presumed outside Maximum City.
Eleven - Another of Eliott's childhood friends, also known through difficult circumstances. He's very open and talkative, often speaking a little quicker than most can understand, unless you've known him a long while. Also presumed out of Maximum City, unknown location.
I know, no real difference lol but he's ready to whoop ass now.
Name: Tiger "The Fist" Jones
Quote: "I just checked my watch and it's time to kick yo ass." "I'm just trying to protect my home, one ass whoopin' at a time."
Alias: Black Fury
Age: 38
Gender: Male
Occupation: Physical Therapist and Gym instructor/personal trainer.
Abilities: Skilled Martial artist- Tiger have been taught in using Karate, Shaolin Kung fu, aikido, Judo, and Muay Thai
Athletic Physical Condition- Tiger is at about Olympic level physical condition when not using his powers
Tactile Telekinesis/Telekinetic Combat- This ability grants Tiger enhanced strength (Enough force to push/knock over up to a ton.), durability (Thanks to a telekinetic force field coating the body that can give him damage resistance), and the release of telekinetic pressure through his palm (a force that can push up to 500 pounds). This power allows Tiger to look as if he's using inner chi to fight with.
Weaknesses: Though, having such great power at his disposal, he is not invincible. He has his limits. When not using his powers, he's just as vulnerable as a normal person (If he's unaware of a lethal or regular attack, he can be harmed easily). When using his power, it takes concentration to utilize the telekinetic force. If his power is used continuously in a drawn out fight, Tiger may get physically or psychologically fatigued or suffer straining. In severe cases: bleeding from the nose or eyes, falling unconscious, or possible physical injury.
Equipment: Eskirma Sticks- Tiger hates guns but he loves beating some ass with his fighting sticks. They are quite durable.
Bio: Tiger was born to Benson and Olivia Jones on the South side of Maximum. His father, an army major and his mother, a nurse.
During his early years, Tiger remembered seeing his father come and go on assignments which left him under the care of his mother the majority of the time. His mother tried to raise him right with positivity but where there's positives, there were negatives. When Tiger was 10, his cousin, Jody, was usually the one Tiger hung out with but because of Jody's influence and behavior problem, Tiger's mother didn't want him hanging out with Jody.
Gang life, drugs, pimpin', violence....this was something that Tiger was exposed to by Jody since Jody's father was always in and out of jail. Now, Tiger never engaged in these activities since his mother inculcated what was good and bad into Tiger to be able to make the right decisions. Because of this, Jody started to change a bit, becoming aggressive towards Tiger. The people the hung out with Jody responded the same way towards him until Tiger got his first beating when he refused to do a drug deal for Jody and his friends.
It didn't stop there when the southside started to become a little more rough. There were 2 incidents that involved someone mugging Tiger's mother and when a group of goons broke into their home, ransacked it and took all of their valuables. The police weren't doing anything it seems that no one could never catch these ones who were committing crimes. When depression hit his mother when her husband deserted them and she started taking drugs, Tiger traveled to a nearby dojo to train under an instructor so to gain some skill to defend himself.
A few years passed, and crime got a little worse and some police were starting to show their corruption. Tiger was in his mid to late 20s when he personally stopped a mugging and attempted rape that a group of goons were trying on a teenage girl. With his various martial arts skills he picked up helped him in this case but like Maximum's finest, they show up after the fact and placed Tiger under arrest for aggravated battery when he was doing what the police were suppose to do. Being taken to the station while the goons were left without being taken in, Tiger out of rage, cursed the police for their irresponsibility and their lack of care for his community.
In his cell, he met a weird old man who was in the cell with him that saw the frustration in Tiger, causing him to bring about the fact that there are beings out there that have more that enough capabilities to make a difference in Maximum. He asked Tiger what he'd do if he had power and with that, he responded "I'd clear out the trash and poison in my community that takes the shape of criminals, drugs, and corrupt law enforcement. People talk about heroes but we need ones that look out for the little man...and that's what the hell I'd do..." He said which caused the man to smile and swiftly make his way over to Tiger, to place his hand on his head, allowing Tiger's eyes to glow as his own before he let go and explained that now Tiger had the ability to do something about the problems in his neighborhood. He could do amazing things if he put his mind to it.
Not knowing what the man did, Tiger was soon released back to his neighborhood where he ran into those goons he beat up before. They were at it once again as they followed a woman trying to hurry home. Tiger once against stood between them and their potential victim but this time, they had guns. not wanting to get close, The goons pulled their guns out, looking for revenge and shot towards Tiger and the girl he was protecting. He rushed over to cover her only to realize that he was harmed and when they reloaded, Tiger turned and pointed his palms towards them telling them to stop but unconsciously released a strong forces to knocked them all back and knocked them out.
It took time to figure this out but as time went on, Tiger realized that the man in jail must've bestowed power upon him, learning what power he gained and trained more in his fight styles to utilize his power with it. Since then, his neighborhood has been fighting police brutality, drugs in their community, criminal activity and over all problems that needed to be addressed. With his involvement in trying to fight crime and constant battle in talking some sense into kids on the streets, especially ones like the phasing young man, Free-Roam. South Maximum is hopefully on the road to recovery.
Other info: Tiger is a fan of oldschool martial arts films along with the blaxploitation movies his father once owned. He was inspired by his heroes Bruce Lee, Jim Kelly, and Shaft
Duncan looks like one of the many homeless that live upon the streets of Maximum City; wearing a tattered, dirty, wool, dark navy coat over a torn and faded, red and black plaid hooded jacket, with light grey hood and sleeves. He always has the deep hood raised over his head, and his head drooping forward to the ground. Further concealing him newer, cleaner scarf of black and gray stripes. Over his legs he wears oversized, patched military surplus camo pants. Protecting his hands are a pair of dark forest green, woven wool gloves, while his feet are stuffed into a pair of filthy old steel toe work boots, that have been re-soled with what looks like some rubber from a car tire, and patched over in places where the leather has worn through.
Physically, when he isn't slouched over, he stands at 5'7", but looks almost as broad in the shoulders, with a deep barrel chest. Heavy set, squat, almost cubic of build. Yet his attire muffles it, conceals it, make him seem less than he is, more obese, than powerful. What would shock most to learn however, is that he weighs over 360 pounds.
Appearance (costume): Technically, Duncan doesn't have a different appearance for fighting crime, but it is more likely that he, himself will be seen.
To describe his appearance, is it best to visualize Grig from the Last Starfighter, with a bit of Killer Croc skin texture, and a hint of Aliens (Geiger). Now, for more indepth explaination. Duncan started out with normal, human skin, a long time ago, 50 years. However, due to his mutation, his skin, when injured, started to thicken, and become more resilient to being damaged. As this process went, his skin became more, and more keratinized (the thick, tough, fibrous material fingernails, hair, and other such materials are made of). Eventually, flecks of bone began to form in places where he was frequently injured, these grew into nodules, and in less mobile parts of his anatomy, started to turn into plates. In some areas, thick plates of chitin (Insectile and arthropod exoskeletons) began to take over from the bone. One the backs of his forearms and front of his shins, the plates have further begun to grow layers of enamel, further being mineralized with iron sulphates, of gregite and pyrite, further hardening and strengthening the enamel to the point where it is harder than most steels. This also manages to give the enameled plates a luster with a hint of brassy-gold in good lighting conditions.
IE: He is ugly as fuck.

Quote: "Please, punch me. I will laugh in your face when your bones snap like twigs."
Age: 67 Gender: Male Occupation: Beggar Abilities:
Strong enough in most places to resist pistol caliber rounds. Is quite difficult to cut through, and in some places, is effectively impervious to blades wielded by human strength. Is difficult to pierce, but is possible.
His primary mutation has altered not just his skin, but also his internal structure. His bones are physically larger, and also denser than ordinary human bones can be. Making it much more difficult to break them. His muscles are denser, which while adding to his strength, but compounded with more connective tissue, makes his flesh more difficult to cut through, pierce, or puncture. Primary and secondary arteries/veins are sheathed with muscle, which can cease blood flow to stem bloodloss, and can also function, for a short period, as secondary blood pumps, should his heart fail. They don't pump as well (less flow, and less pressure), but can keep him alive long enough if he stops moving, for his heart to regenerate from some damage, or restart.
Peak Human Strength [World's Strongest Man competitor equivalent) Lesser Regenerative Healing Factor Reactive Adaptation (Tied to Regeneration, slow enough to be effectively ignored)
Weaknesses: Density: He is small and compact, but heavy as hell. He cannot swim, or float. Heat: While his skin makes for fantastic armour, it is also a good insulator. In addition, he lost his sweat glands. While he can survive brief, intense heat for moments, that would scar, or potentially kill a normal human, his stamina and endurance are greatly lessened in hot environments. In the summer? He is not good in a foot chase, or a prolonged fight. Slow: Short legs, and a lot of body weight, make him quite slow. Add into this the cumbersome nature and reduced flexibility.
Equipment: Not much. Some blankets, a ripped rain jacket, a shopping cart and some grocery bags. One thing he does keep in his possession is a small tin cookie can from the 70's with faded, worn paint, and rust at its seams. Inside the tin, is a collection of artifacts of his life; mementos of his triumphs and failures that trace him through history. He keeps a copy of all of his false identities, along with his original drivers license and birth certificate. He has three photographs of him and Joseph; the first is a polaroid faded from the years of two young men laughing at the edge of a lake, on the bottom is written in faded black marker; 72, the second as their alter egos, a professional print that has lasted fairly well, written on the back; 74, and the final one just them hanging out on a sunny afternoon in front of the Celica, the back scrawled in a different writing, "Nice car Ira! Proud to be your friend and comrade, Joseph Carter" Under that in the same printing as the others: 76. A yellowed, folded, and mildly stained scrap of news paper from the Redding Record Searchlight that detailed the day of the conflict between Magnetron and Hyde. Several other newspaper clippings in various states of yellowing and decay. A small folding knife with a blade half rusted and pitted, a blank black button, a highway patrol officer's badge, and a blood stained half of an apron folded neatly
Bio: May want to grab a drink, and a snack, be warned.
Grew up in a small, mountain town, lead a normal life. Played football as a running back, was good, not not good enough for a scholarship or anything. Learned how to work on cars with his father when he was young, and carried that with him when he went to highschool. When he was 17 however, he got into a rather horrible wreck while racing down a road; split the car in half, one of his good friends in the passenger seat died on impact when the tree took his place. Best friend in the back seat was rendered paraplegic, who was also the school's star quarterback. No one quite understood how Ira was alive, and walking. The doctors and nurses were shocked at how quickly he recovered from his injuries.
That year, they lost the championship in their league of football, and his teammates blamed him for injuring the star quarterback. At first they beat the living tar out of him, and left him tied in a shed over night. They were going to free him after that, but when they returned, it was like they hadn't so much as scratched him the night before. Furious, afraid, and in disbelief, they beat him down again, and fueled by liquor and adrenaline, the tied him to the back of someone's truck, and dragged him 12 miles along a gravel road. He recovered, eventually, but his appearance was now, quite different. His skin thickened, almost scaly. He exacted revenge on the former teammates, accidentally killing one of them before disappearing.
Since he left home, Ira has lived in the shadows of the world, from living in a forest for two years, and racking up two deaths from bad mushrooms and being hit by a rockslide, to living in abandoned buildings, and struggling to find work to feed himself. A lot of his childhood notions of right and wrong have been shattered over time, but he still tries to cling to the core tenets of good vs evil, and right vs wrong. He's been forced to steal food to keep himself going. He's been forced to kill on a number of occasions from anti-mutant groups hunting him, to perhaps his worst stroke of luck of being mistaken as an ally to a thief by a superpowered do-gooder who had a very zealous streak to him.
However, it always seems like when he's at his lowest, moments before the tenets he clings to finally wither into dust; something comes and renews just a little hope in him. The most empowering, and longest lasting of which was many years ago. It started back in 1971 when he was nineteen and after the rockslide incident, he made his way our of the mountains into Redding. He began living in an abandoned miner's shack on the outskirts of town. Around this time, he didn't appear too "different" to normal people, just his skin looked thickened, like he was covered in a giant callous. He got himself a job at the local lumbermill and was doing fairly well until one night, when his house was destroyed by the collision of two men, a young Joseph Carter and the man known as Buzzsaw (no one really knew why he called himself that, he was just your typical strong guy). Buzzsaw had managed to get the drop on Joseph until Ira, awakened by two jackasses crashing into his abandoned shack, got up and cracked Buzzsaw over the head with a cast iron frying pan. Thus ending his less than illustrious criminal career.
Joseph Carter, eighteen and with the power of magnetism, and Ira Hawkins decided to team up and be the "Defenders of Redding". And truth be told, they did damned well for themselves and the young, growing city. For the next seven years, they had a tremendous run in learning how to fight, how to work together, and were even rewarded by the city for keeping their streets safe in 1976. By then, Joseph had become known as Magnetron. Ira had several nicknames spawned by the press; Leatherneck, Toughman, and finally Hyde, recalling his growing "disfigurement". Ira was able to buy a car in 1976, a Toyota Celica Liftback GT. Not an expensive car by any means, but a good looking car that worked. 1977 however, was a turning point. Redding's streets were safer than practically anywhere else. Magnetron and Hyde, the Defenders of Redding were heroes. This publicity helped to fuel Redding's population boom from the 16,000 or so when Ira arrived, to 46,000 (with the annexation of a neighboring town). Following this population, and fame....was a small band of "anti-vigilantes". A group of powered thugs who saw the end of organized crime in the future due to the success of these self-styled "Heroes".
This group had a systematic plan, that was rather well thought out. Two female members stalked the two Heroes to learn about them and their habits, and then installed themselves in their lives, quickly becoming "girlfriends". Magnetron's girl was Evelyn, and the girl who became Hyde's relationship was Cassandra. Evelyn began seeding Joseph's ears with words of honey coated lies, saying that Hyde was jealous of his popularity in the town. Truth be told, Hyde sort of was. But he also understood why; Joseph was a poster boy if there ever was one; Young, charming, good looks, able to fly and wield magnetism. He even had a sharp costume. Hyde on the other hand...well, was becoming rather ugly, his power wasn't all that flashy; many saw him as sort of a body guard to Magnetron. Cassandra meanwhile, fueled this jealousy in Ira, pointing out how many times he'd been shot, hurt, and injured while Joseph usually got out of anything without a scratch. How the public liked Joseph much more.
After the women had a few months to work, the rest of the anti-vigilantes started their smear campaign. Colouring the public's view of their heroics. Shortly after, two destructive "Villains" appeared. They stole little, but damaged a lot. In short order, nearly half of Redding began to decry the Defenders. Meanwhile, they were beginning to fall apart themselves. Everything came to a head in 1978. Joseph's ego, fueled by Evelyn came to a head. He demanded to be made Mayor of Redding. By force. Ira, after a two hour showdown that destroyed three city blocks, and several hundred thousand in assorted property damage, brought Joseph down. Hard. He had killed his first partner, and the best friend he ever had. Three minutes later, he looked up into the two dark holes of a twelve gauge shotgun.
He survived. It took a month for him to regrow the parts of his brain that were damaged, the bone structure of his skull, and all of his face. A month of sheer agony. But he survived. On the twenty-sixth day, he opened his eyes to the gasping astonishment of a little girl who was crouched on stairs that lead into the dark basement, and then disappeared. Moments later, a man, three years younger than Ira himself came downstairs. His name was Kinsley Morgan. He was a doctor and had found Ira's body in the street where the people had left him for dead. Kinsley revealed that he had a massive respect for Ira and the things he had done for Redding. Kinsley had been 18 when Ira joined up with Joseph, and started cleaning up the streets. The pair had actually saved Kinsley during an attempted robbery, where Ira had jumped into the line of the gunman's aim intended for Kinsley himself. Seeing someone jump, without hesitation into the path of bullet for a stranger, to willingly take that pain and risk of death astonished the young man. While he knew he couldn't be a super hero, he could do something for people, and went to university to become a doctor. Now here he was, a wife, a daughter, and a good practice. Saving the people the Defenders never could.
For another week, Ira stayed with Kinsley, regaining his strength as the anti-vigilantes revealed themselves to Redding. Gloating in their victory. Ira left after that week. Leaving Kinsley and his family with what remained of his tattered jersey and badge, his uniform, and a note; "You're the real Defender of Redding, Kinsley."
For twelve years, Ira kept himself out of the light. The only thing he kept, was his Celica. Occasional situations forcing his hand in saving someone, or being stabbed in the back by those he tried to trust. Until in 1990, he dragged back into the spot light for a brief period of time.
In twelve years, his body had changed quite a bit, most of his skin turning to the dark rusty-brown scutes, making him look lizard-like, but lacking the heavier plating and scales of his current stage in life. He found himself in Lubbock, Texas. He had found work as a graveyard shift cleaner of a local school. Hired by someone who didn't mind his outward figure. He was at a grocery store, getting some food in the early morning, when he had just gotten off work. He suddenly heard the alarm as the store had just been robbed. He was there, it seemed like a small issue that he could deal with without attracting much attention; he charged out after the thugs. Only to find the three of them laid out on the ground, bleeding from wounds caused by a man who appeared to have blades for arms. Instantly Ira was mistaken for one of the criminals, and the young "Dark Blade" went after Ira.
Ira quickly subdued the young Hero, and then ran home. Figuring he'd get groceries the next day. Dark Blade however was infuriated. He got the drop on Ira the next day, and managed to sever Ira's right arm. Ira managed to get away, and stay low for three days before he ran into a young man known as Jake Collins. Jake happened to be the Dark Blade. Instantly throwing away his secret identity to catch this "ruthless criminal", Collins went after Ira. He was enraged, having been defeated, and then having this freak escape him....he refused to let that happen a third time. Their fight lasted an hour, and left several people injured in its wake as Ira tried to lead Collins away from people. But it seems like Collins had somehow increased his skills drastically in those three days. Eventually, Ira was able to knock the kid out. He went straight to his boss, and told him that he was leaving. Trying to just get away from the insanity.
A month later and in Dallas, Dark Blade showed up once more. Fully unhinged and with Ira's old boss' head in hand, claiming he was Ira's "Crime Boss". The kid seemed to have somehow increased his skills drastically once more. Practically cutting Ira to ribbons as he realized that the kid also had some kind of power to rapidly learn from his own mistakes. Couple that with his shattered ego and mental state, Ira quickly realized that this kid might finally kill him. How? He wasn't sure, but if anyone was going to, this kid might accomplish it. No longer a fight over right or wrong, mistakes or not. It was down to pure life or death. Subdue him now and leave him, and he would still hunt him to the ends of the earth, and come back stronger than Ira could possibly hope to defeat. Leading Collins into a construction site, finally away from people, Ira tried to come up with a plan to take down someone who seemed to be faster, stronger, and more skilled then he himself. Finally, Ira gained the upper hand by practically letting Dark Blade get a hacking cut into his shoulder, where the blade became trapped in the dense bone and muscle. Locking the blade-arm into his shoulder with his free arm, he shoulder rushed Jake Collin's into stack of rebar, impaling the young man to death.
By then, news helicopters were on the scene, broadcasting the battle between the two mutants. Ira managed to get home and escape. Fleeing to the north. Trying to get away from the blood that had been spilled in his past. For sixteen more years, he has tried to remain under the radar of the world. Living in the shadows. Moving sporadically to try and prevent the chances of someone getting hurt. In desperation to escape the law, he fled from America for the anonymity of foreign shores for the past fourteen years.
Russia however, was not much of a safe haven. He came under the attention of a group of radical xenophobic group who despised anyone and anything that was not purely human. With no way to hide his mutation, Ira was an easy target, and a symbol of what they hated. The captured him after derailing a train he was riding in, before torturing him for a little over a week. He escaped finally, when Police raided their compound, vanishing into the depth of Moscow. Eventually he made his way into the Ukraine, Finland, and found himself back in America. Maximum City this time. Life dragging on, his resources spent, he finds himself homeless, jobless, with nothing to fall back on now.

Name: Zora Ridley
Quote: "There's a pretty fine line between doing what's right and doing what's right for me. I definitely learned to stop walking on the wrong side of that line, it's just that... Helping other people kinda sucks."
Alias: Thunderthighs Tazer
Age: 24
Gender: Female
Occupation: Usually unemployed, sporadically works odd jobs. Currently a McDonald's cashier.
Abilities: - Electrokinesis: Zora can create, shape and manipulate electricity. She can use it to manipulate and alter electronic devices, and she can also use it offensively and blast it at her enemies.
- Lightning summoning/control: in the event of stormy weather, Zora can call down a bolt of lightning, and bend it to her will. She can redirect it immediately at another person or use it for a temporary boost in power. Summoning lightning is very taxing of her energy, though, and will likely be exhausted due to the act after she's use the lightning's energy.
Weaknesses: - Water: Water is a massive counter to her abilities. Water and electricity don't mix. She's fearful of using her power near water because if anything goes wrong she might end up severely injuring herself.
- Her size doesn't help: Zora is 5'2 and 105 pounds. She's not exactly a threatening physical force. She can't defend herself in hand to hand combat.
- Power exhaustion: as already mentioned, overusing her powers causes her to get very tired and if she exhausts her energy reserves it could lead to unconsciousness. Her ability to summon lightning specifically wastes tons of her energy, which is why she doesn't like to use it unless she's in a desperate situation or if she's extremely angry.
- Mental instability: Zora is a loose cannon. She was defined as mentally insane a few years ago, but after going through an asylum and receiving rehab at mental health institutions, she was deemed sane and able to walk the streets a normal citizen. However, she is still certainly a bit deranged. She is susceptible to crazy, senseless actions, and these are often to her detriment.
Equipment: N/A
Bio - Zora was born to parents she would never know. They left her at the door of an adoption home in the inner city, where she stayed for several years until she was adopted by a lower-class family. Alas, her foster parents weren't able to give her the care that she so desperately needed — in fact, they gave her quite the opposite. Her upbringing was full of physical and emotional abuse. Zora was neglected and used as a tool in her parent's criminal undertakings.
Her foster parents were arrested after attempting a huge burglary, so she was again left with no family. But after years of living in a garbage home with garbage people, she swore she would never know poverty again. Zora found a group of troublemakers that took her in and they did petty crimes together. She trusted them, and even fell in love with one of them.
Just when she started to get comfortable, they betrayed her. She was the scapegoat after they got caught trying to pull off the big one, and she was left penniless with a broken heart. She couldn't take all the disappointments and put-downs that life presented her. While she was in custody of law enforcement, she constantly freaked out on her interrogators. The tragedies in her life had pushed her over the edge. Whenever she would be released from prison, she would soon after get arrested again for committing another crime. She went on a streak of arrests around the age of 20, until she was finally locked down in a mental health institution under suspicion of being insane.
She was subjected to many cruel forms of therapy while she was rehabbed into better mental health. She was the first(and only) patient to be treated with the "revolutionary" new kind of shock therapy. The brutal technique left Zora in a coma for a week, and when she awoke she felt... different. The effects of the therapy seemed to have stuck with her. She felt an affinity towards electricity, and learned she could control it.
In the coming years, she was able to turn her life around. She considered the powers she'd received to be a "gift" of fate. The voices in her head convinced her it was some sort of divine intervention, and a message to use those powers for good. She proceeded to pass all her tests, and was visibly improving upon herself. After years of hopping around asylums and mental homes, she was declared sane and allowed to go free. Ever since, she's been trying to live a normal life, trying to maintain a job and a life of sanity. At the same time, she struggles with morality and having to figure out just how her new powers fit her into society.
