"I am an assassin not a thief. I don't generally steal from people."Roxy growled. She was confident in herself and her work. But this wasn't her usual type of business. She killed people who deserved to be killed. She didn't take things she didn't work for. Nor was she used to trusting others. Her life had never given her a reason to reach out like this before. "People don't bail on me because I work alone."

Roxy glared at the girl who was so confident that she could get back in so it didn't matter if they failed today. That's where Ratte was wrong. It did matter. There were no second chances. "That's where you're wrong Ratte. There is no second chance. If we fail tonight it's over. I don't get a redo." She turned and stormed back through the building. She made her way to the rooftop. She debated getting involved with the fight. There was little point anymore. Although she could fight she wasn't really a fighter. But in the end she couldn't walk away. These people were here because of her so it was her responsibility to make sure that they escaped. With a sigh she made her way to the ground to see what she could do to get the others out of the trouble they had gotten themselves into.

Tristan was notices by a guard. He quickly rushed away into the rooftops, he then threw knives at the guards. But that was not enough. He quickly throws a knife at a rope which causes a pile of creates to drop drown and distract the guards.

He quickly slides down into the house below him, he noticed nobody was home and loots place. There he found...

  • Jewerly
  • Gold coins
  • A set of jeweled daggers, could be sold for a few coins with a blacksmith or a collector.

He jumped down then proceeds to head for the caravan again.

This was definitely getting out of hand and Isago could be to blame for that or....the assisting guy in white who showed up out of nowhere. After successfully getting the commander knocked down from his horse, Isago couldn't just stand there and marvel over pulling off the unexpected. His team was holding their own and he couldn't keep tabs on Roxy and Ratte.

Hearing the guy in white mentioning that they should run or get on the carriage, Isago took that in the decision but deep in his mind, if he tried to get on the carriage, they'd get chased with the loot. Plus, seemed that he already had his hands full at the moment with this leading commander. he was just going to continue to get in the way if he was to try and reach the carriage. But....what if he had a way to cut off any other guard from reaching the carriage and made a way for his comrades to escape and to keep the commander busy while trying to find and opening to leave as well?

Isago smirked. The day before, he talked to one of the whores he slept with and asked her for a favor. Yeah, they've slept together more than once but he figured for the right coin and the way he worked her right, she'd go along with helping him. When the commander made his move, Isago was going to go for the parry but along with that, made a motion to launch himself backwards. The parry was weaker but he was mostly trying to evade and move away from the rest of the group. The blade cut his clothes, grazing his chest but it wasn't something major. Isago smirked. "Is that it? So much for being a commander..." he teased while rushing towards an alleyway where there was a wine jug sat on a box and where there was a pot of hot coals with protruding pieces of wood. Isago didn't want Kai and the guy in white to worry. He was going to try something to make a way for them to get free.

When even more guards showed up, Kai knew that it would be even more difficult to escape. The soldiers that had poured out of the carriage had taken him by surprise, and he was not sure if there were anymore still left inside waiting to join the fight. He could not keep up with all these guards swinging at him forever. He had to slow them down since he could not get out of the battle just yet. Stealing a quick glance at Isago, Kai saw the man run into an alleyway, presumably in an attempt to lose the guard he had been fighting.

Another idea then clicked into his mind when he saw that one of the guards had his back to the front of the carriage. The guard swung at the boy once, and he ducked down to avoid the attack. This lead the guard to attempt a strike at his legs. Kai then acted quickly, putting his foot onto the blade of the soldier's sword and stepping up onto his shoulder before he could let go of the weapon. Using the guard as a stepping stool, Kai managed to grab hold of edge above him and pull himself back up onto the caravan roof.

He was safe for the time being. Even if any of the soldiers below attempted to pursue him, he would have ample time to attack. In addition, he would already be on the carriage should the man in white decide to ride off with it at any time.

Eryx was assessing the damage as he tookbthe horse's reigns. If his new partner didn't get on soon he'd be left behind. One boy just jumped on, the other he couldn't see. Guards just rushed out, meaning they were dumb enough to leave the loot itself unattended. That left two possibilities then, he thought.

"Hang on kid." He says to the one on the roof, before kicking the horses sides. This situation was going south fast, and as long as he had the one on the roof, he'd get the answers he needed. The carriage began it's roll forward, slowly at first but quickly gathering speed. He didn't care about any guards in front, they could move or get trampled.

It was time to see id they were willing to stop the cart or chase it. It'd be a real shame if they took it out and the riches poured all over a bustling market with plenty of people to snatch it all up. Not even they would be that dumb he thought, turning into the market streets.

His plan was simple, he just had to get the card to the slums, where a group of guards would have a hard time looking for a caravan and an even harder time getting through. As they began to take off he turns his head, shouting up to the person on the roof. "Coins! Grab some, we're going to need to ditch some of this if we want to get away with it! It won't be much!"

Ratte sighed, watching Roxy disappear before she looked down at the lock in her hand and shook her head. Maybe the older wonn was right and she was doing the wrong thing here by focusing on the museum and not on the prize. Like Roxy, Ratte was a loner - she had never worked as part of a team before. It seemed that her old habits were playing with her abilities again and she was thinking of her own capabilities. She knew that she could fight, but not well enough to fight a platoon of guards, but then... she wouldn’t have been fighting alone this time.

Shouting and the loud scraping wooden cart wheels on cobbles caught her ears and she rushed to the window. Outside she caught sight of a man in white that she hadn’t seen before steering the carriage and a precarious-looking kid on the roof that she did know the face of. She tutted and gritted her teeth, Damnit kid, I thought I told you to watch your back!

She turned and sprinted back down the corridor, her feet light on the ground. She needed to catch up with that coach before the white-haired man took the whole mission for himself and Kai got hurt.
————————————————————————

The commander sneered at his opponent and gripped his sword tightly. He decided quickly not to give the man the satisfaction of a response to his gloating and simply raised his blade for another attack.

He stepped forward, planted his foot and brought his sword up and around his head in a sweeping motion, then brought it down again full of momentum to the man’s shoulder.

Behind him, the guard tripped and scuffled around one and other to follow the carriage. One soldier managed to leap forward and he grabbed to back of the carriage desperately, before being pulled along on his front as the horses picked up speed.

Fighting was something Roxy tried to avoid. Not because she wasn't good at it, she was as better than most. No she avoided it for a different reason. But this time she couldn't avoid it. She was responsible for these people getting into this situation. So she would get them out of it. Unfortunately there was only one way she could think of to get most of the attention off the group.

"Get the wagon and get the hell out of here. I'll give you an opening." She yelled at Kai and Isago. Roxy had no idea who the white haired guy was but there was something familiar about him. He could either follow or get caught. He wasn't her responsibility. The others were. She didn't want to see if the men listened or not. They were going to have one chance to escape with most of the treasure if they didn't take it there wasn't anything she could do about it.

She stepped in front of the captain. What she was about to do was going to cost her a lot but it was the best way to give them an opening. She gave him a flirtatious smile and cute wave. "Hello captain. I can see that you are busy with these petty thieves. I just wanted to let you know that I was in town. Names Black Widow."

Reveiling her identity was going to make doing her job harder. But her life had never been easy why would it start now? At the sound of her allis the captain turned his horse towards her. "After her!" He shouted. Not all the soldiers turned her way but enough did that she thought the men could handle the rest. She took off running using her smaller size to her advantage.

Kai stumbled back a few steps as the caravan started to move, just only managing to keep his balance. He caught a glimpse of Roxy when she appeared out in the open to distract the guards as the man in white was driving away. He was puzzled, not expecting her to ever do such a thing, and hoped that she would be able to escape with most of the guards' attention currently on her. Not having to face any more guards for the time being, he lowered himself to lie on his front so as to reduce the possibility of falling off of the moving vehicle.

Just as he had crawled his way to the front porch, the man shouted some instructions to him. Grab some coins? That seemed like a rather strange thing to get him to do. He would comply for the moment, considering the current situation, but knowing the reason for the confusing request was probably important as well. He dropped himself off of the edge onto the front footboard, right behind the horse that the stranger in white was riding.

"Aye, Sir! But what for?" He asked as he threw the front doors of the carriage open hoping to see some coins lying about.

Right when he had stepped in, however, he heard an unusual sound coming from behind the back doors of the carriage. It sounded like someone was moving back there. Did a guard manage to get onto the caravan? Not wanting to engage in a sword fight inside the moving caravan, he wrapped his fingers around the grip of the flintlock pistol tied at his waist as he waited for the back doors to open. He wanted to end this one quick, and he had one shot. He hoped it would be all he needed.

This commander was now becoming aggravating. Isago was about to leave for the alley but the commander was hindering that by continuing his attack. He had to play dirty. Seeing how the man was going to try and cripple him this time, Isago couldn't just dodge or block the swing that was coming down. Isago felt that if he couldn't run back, he'd push forward. Isago went for a shoulder tackle to use his strength and to get on the inside of the sword attack to knock the commander off balance as he called out. "SABA!!" He shouted while a few more guards came his way to attack Isago. Someone came from out of the alley with a large jar and holding onto the handles, spun around for momentum and managed to toss it over to the guards breaking when it hits the ground revealing it was filled with oil and with a torch in her hand, tossed it to start a fire that would hopefully hold some of the guards off while the carriage headed off.

Isago heard Roxy and nodded rushing to pass the prostitute he was with and rushed to run after the carriage to jump on.

Ratte slipped through the door of the museum and darted towards the carriage. She could see Kai and a guard clinging onto the back and roof of the carriage, whilst Isago ran for the coach behind with a woman she didn't know. @King Tai The rest of the guards were taken care of; a thin cloud of smoke rising up between them and the carriage where someone had created a barrier with flames. Another man, yet again one that she hadn't seen before, ran from a tumbling pile of crates towards the carriage. @SantosGabriel77

She frowned, not sure exactly what to think of the situation. She couldn't think for too long. She gritted her teeth and launched herself at the carriage, flinging her body forward and slammed against the side, gripping it tightly with her hands. She gasped and winced as a shooting pain shot through her hand. Something had twisted or hit the wooden panel and was going to bruise but again she pushed it aside, focusing instead on her footing. She arranged her feet on the thin strip of wood lining the base of the carriage and reached up to grip onto a wrought iron lantern hook. The lantern itself had long since blown itself out and the cage was rattling against the side of her wrist. She narrowed her eyes at it before shouting up to Kai, "Kid! What's going on? Where's Roxy?" @Raptra @KatherinWinter

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The commander grunted and landed with a thud after the impact of Isago's charge. He gasped, winded, and rolled onto his side, trying to catch his breath before the thieves escaped. He heard horses and footsteps trampling in every direction and frowned, watching a good half of his men turn and run after a girl dressed all in black leather. Her face looked familiar. "H-Hey!" he wheezed, "They're... they're getting away!" With several more grunts and groans, the commander got to his feet and was immediately affronted by a wall of heat. He covered his face and staggered back, coughing.

He dropped his hand and let out a long shaking breath. He was at a loss. They had the horses and the carriage and one of them had seduced his men in the opposite direction. He gripped his fist tightly and set his eyes on the retreating figures. One, two, three, four, five, six. Black, purple, orange, white. Rat, kid, snow, black, prostitute, spider. He memorized their sillhouettes and their fading features, before allowing himself to keel over and hold his aching chest. He would find them again.

Eryx was calm at this point, they'd just about made it into the clear. Now though they'd head for the slums, riding directly for the church where undoubtedly beggers would sit in wait form alms. "Toss whatever you picked up!" He calls over his shoulder as they storm down. It was a trick as old as time, money in the streets to build a wall of people.

After they'd passed that point, the carriage slowed down to a trot, bringing them through just fast enough that if someone had the bright idea to try and rob them he'd have no issue trampling them. "Right then, where too kid?" He ponders, looping up to slip back out of the neighborhood as he looked for pursuing guards.

Kai could hear more instructions from the stranger in white in the background, though, he currently had something more urgent deal with. The back doors of the caravan were then kicked open. Before the guard who had been behind them could take more than two steps towards him, Kai had cocked his pistol, aimed, and fired. The sound of the gunshot echoed through the area. The guard stumbled back and fell off the back of the carriage. Not pausing to check the condition of the guard he had just shot, he then grabbed a small bag of coins and threw it out onto the street. People flocked over to pick up what he had tossed, blocking any more pursuing guards from reaching them. The boy had to admit, he was rather impressed by the idea.

He then spun around when he heard another voice. The other woman in the group had somehow made it onto the carriage and was asking him about Roxy. He slammed the back doors shut before dashing back to the front to pull her inside.

"She ran in the other direction," he replied, sliding the pistol back through the cloth tied around his waist. "I hope she managed to get away too."

When the man in white asked Kai where to go next, he hesitated, knowing not to give the location of their hideout away to a stranger. Sure, he had helped them through the entire job, but the boy was not about to take responsibility for anything that might go wrong at this point. He glanced at Ratte, and then at Isago, who had also managed to get on, before speaking up again.

"We uh... should look for someone," he said, hoping that Roxy would show up soon. Had there also not been another man with them?

Roxy watched to make sure they made it on to the wagon. She breathed a sigh of relief when they didn't. She wasn't worried about the guards identifying the others. She was sure that they had had posters with their faces on it before. They would hide in the shadows until the heat died down. They were more than capable of taking care of themselves. She doubted any of them noticed or cared that she wasn't with them.

She glanced over her shoulder wondering if it would be better to let the guards grab her. She was going to 0ay for failing either way. She sighed and shook her head. She wasn't a coward. She wouldn't take the easy way. She ran into the shadows using her smaller frame to hide from the guards that tried to find her. One of the benefits of only being fibe foot was that she fit into alot of places that others didn't.

Once the guards were out of the alley she climbed to the roof tops. She had to report her failure. It was no one's fault but her own. She silently made her way over the roofs of the buildings. But she didn't head to the slums. No she headed towards the noble district.

Managing to get away from the commander, running on the roof while his prostitute friend left the area as well. She didn't jump on the carriage but she was sure to meet Isago in the slums soon too. Isago jumped onto the top of the carriage and noticed Kai shooting another man off.

While they managed to get some distance, Isago breathed a little heavy. "Well that was a mess but...seems we got out regardless.." He said looking back. When the guy in white and Kai talked, Isago noticed that Roxy wasn't there. What was she trying to do? Did she get caught or is she sacrificing herself? She didn't have to. Isago spoke up. "Roxy's not here huh? I'm tempted to go back to see if she's fine...she did get us together and it would be a waste if she gone and died right after getting the loot." he mentioned.

He turned to the guy in white. "And you...I appreciate your help and all but who are you?"

A crowd gathered behind the wagon to gather the coins. Despite the handfuls of gold that Kai throw out there was still plenty of coins. There was a barrel for each of them. It wasn't quiet what Roxy had promised but it was more than most of them could earn on their own. In a way she had kept her word. There was no sign of her as they made their back to the base they would have one their own.

It was now evening. The shadows were starting to fall. There were plenty of ways that the group could go their separate ways if they chose to do so. If they returned to the base they would find nothing but an empty room. There were no clues to where Roxy might have gone or who she might have been. Being an assassin she was very good at hiding from the world.

Ratte felt surprisingly alive and awake. She supposed it was her mind buzzing with questions, annoyance and debate. Their leader had disappeared and for no real reason. Ratte was certain that Roxy had better fighting skills than her and had more stamina. She had crept up on Ratte, who had declared herself queen lack-of-surprise to anyone that had listened. So why forfeit the fight like she had?

There was also a new person here. She didn't trust him. She was certain now that he wasn't trying to claim their gold for his own, but she still had her doubts. She let her eyes drift over him. He was unusual; all white to her darkness, yet beneath the exterior she sensed the history that he had built himself on. She sighed and looked back down at the barrels of gold they had managed to acquire.

She had stuffed her satchel full of gold coins and hidden a few in her boots. The rest remained in the barrel and she sat watching it, perplexed. In her hand, she held a small knife and she flicked it absent-mindedly. She hadn't thought about the sheer amount of gold that they would be getting - she had expected a few gems that she could pawn off later, but never this much. She didn't have anywhere to put it. She would have to hide it somewhere. "That's it..." she mumbled, "I'm becoming a pirate."

She looked across at Kai, "Hey kid, how do you make a treasure map?" she asked, flicking the knife and catching it, "I want to hide my treasure..."

Eryx gives a quick wave as he's greeted, peering over to the Pirate. "A friend." He says simply, vague was good for the moment. As the haul was out though, he took a few coins, seeming rather uninterested in any larger haul. "I'll never get this whole getting rich thing people go for. So much less effort to steal nice things than to steal the money to buy them."

He opens the door to the empty hideoutx seeming disheartened that they'd arrived to this. "Not much of a secret hideout though. I got involved for this? I thought there would actually be contacts around." He sighs, rubbing the back of his neck before turning to face the small group. "Nevermind though, people get followed back to places all the time, probably best to keep moving."

Eryx reaches up and pulls his hood down, though as the snow white strands come into view, it's hardly a change of scenery. The small mask that covered his mouth is then tugged away, letting a smooth and narrow jaw come into view, bearing his grinning lips. Golden eyes flicker across them, seeming somehow just as amused.

"I'm Eryx, I used to live here, had to switch scenery for a little while. You leave for a few years and, well," He directs to the ex-hideout, now cleared and spotless. "Old friends are hard to find."

Roxy did not show, leaving the group to wonder about her whereabouts. Seeing as how they could not stay out in the open for too long, even in the slums, they had no other option than to make their way back to their hideout in the basement of the tavern, taking the stranger along with them. It seemed that he was familiar with the place, and started to give away more about who he was. Kai settled in a corner, reloading his pistol while he listened to 'Eryx' speak. Hearing the mention of 'old friends', he wondered what kind of people occupied the place before Roxy had put the current group together.

He then looked up when Ratte called to him with a question, and let out a nervous chuckle. "It's easy as long as you're good with angles and distances, Ma'am. It really depends on how well you know the area and how detailed you would like to be. Sometimes landmarks would suffice, though you might want to use coordinates to divide the sheet if they help make the landmasses more accurate. Contrary to what many believe, us seafarers rarely make 'treasure maps', if ever. I wouldn't recommended drawing a map leading to your hidden loot, considering the obvious risk of that. You can't even trust you own crew, even if they are the closest thing to a family you have..."

The boy trailed off, his initial cheer fading as he thought back to his times out at sea. He was silent as he slotted his pistol back through the cloth around his waist and put away his tools. He should have been delighted, they had successfully finished the job and currently had the means to celebrate. However, Kai had to relax in his own way before that, the same way he always would. He grabbed a cloak that was lying around and pulled it over his head. It would be safer to step out now that it was dark.

"I'd be glad to answer any more questions you might have later if you're still keen on that project," was the last thing he said to Ratte before he left.

After making their getaway, Isago head turned to Ratte when she proclaimed that she would become a pirate. That was something he was not expecting to hear from her but yet, still amusing. A small sigh escaped his lips knowing that he had a nice little haul for himself. He could start a new business, gather himself a new group of his own, purchase a new ship, gain a little power, and so on. Hell...he could use his money to purchase slaves to bring their freedom. The possibilities were endless.

Thinking about Saba, she may have been a prostitute but...he knew her for a while and thought about having her join him on his ideas on what he'd do with the coins and treasure. He still couldn't help think what happened to Roxy. It would be risky for him to go back and check on her. Maybe Saba could have ran into Roxy? She was quite the sneaky one herself. His thoughts were interrupted when Eryx spoke up, bringing Isago's attention back on him.

"Used to live here? Old friends hard to find? What was purpose leaving and what happened to your...'old friends'? My apologies for prying but...I don't usually trust many people but since you stepped in to help, I want to know your motives for stepping in and helping us. Not many people would step in just to be a good samaritan or without an agenda..." Thinking for a moment. "Well I could give you a thanks for assisting but despite the success or...the closest thing to success, you were the unknown element that we were not counting on." Isago mentioned while checking out the coin, flicking it in the air and catching it before looking down, ready to carry the barrel himself.

The next week was quiet in the city. Rumors spread all over the city about the hit on the delivery to the treasury. Everyone talked about the amount that was taken and who might be responsible. Like most rumors none of it was accurate. Which was probably a good thing. It meant that everyone, except the captain who had take the time to try to memorize the faces of the people involved, were looking for the wrong people. That meant that the people who had actually been involved were able to go back to their usual activities if they chose to do so.

There was no sign of Roxy anywhere. She hadn't been taken to jail. At least not any that they could find. No one seemed to know where she was. No one knew her real name. Few kew her alias but no one had seen her since the heist. None of the usual methods that were rumored to be used to contact the Black Widow worked. It was as if she had simply disappeared.
