Martin Price

Now was the time to search for a new Pokemon to join Martin's party. An abandoned industrial facility is naturally the best spot to find Poison types. Walking through the place, and searching behind a few buildings. He had to jump back out of a doorway, seeing that Zubat never could leave him alone. Even out of a cave, they still found dark spots to wait. Martin dismissed them, he could go anywhere if he wanted one. As he kept going, he got a better idea of what was here, with Poison being the main type, and a few Drowzee not caring about people in the area. He spotted a Koffing floating by, looking quite pleased, not for long.

As Martin tried to go after it, his foot was stopped. He tried the other foot, before having to look around. Why was he being stopped? Nothing was holding him, as he could still move, just not in this direction. "Okay, real funny. What's stopping me?" Martin gave a chuckle, finally spotting a lone... He had to pull out his Pokedex to figure out what it was, having to find anything that explained why he was stuck. He found an entry about Shadow Tag, can that be used on people? "Looks like you caught me. Are you a fan of mine, or looking for a fight?"

A psychic type wasn't on his list of things to look for, but it looks like the Pokemon was looking for him. This was a single type Pokemon, which he was sure this time Bug was the answer. Koffing can wait, as Martin called out Nincada. "Cause I'm ready for a fight."

Nincada came out in a flash of red light, taking a few moments to figure out where it was. Then he spotted Gothita and blankly stared at it. This could turn into a stare off if Gothita didn't do anything. "Nincada start it off with a Harden. I'm not in a rush."

Action: Battle Gothita.

"Oh my..." Erika gawked as she slowly revealed the trapped plant-like Pokemon from the ice. It was definitely one she had never really seen before. Studying her Pokedex entry with extra scrutiny, she was quite amazed that she had quite possibly discovered a 100 million year old Pokemon. "Woah..." Erika said under her breath in awe, thinking about just how old this ice must be. Older than humans by far? That was a crazy thought.

Well regardless, Erika did absolutely feel the need to thaw this old fossil out and try to capture it. A Grass/Rock type (assuming Pokedex's give typing on initial scan?) had typing coverings that Erika's team presently did not have but more significantly, this Lileep was millions of years old possibly. How cool was that thought?

Now Lileep was a matchup that Erika really didn't know how best to approach it. Grass-types had a weakness to Chic and Sno but with Chic exhausted from the last battle, it definitely seemed like Sno was the better option. Rock-types had an advantage against Ice-types, right? Does Lileep learn a Rock-type move and at what point? Perhaps it was best to stick with Gibs, as he was certainly up to the challenge and he possessed no likely weakness to Lileep here.

"Alright.." Erika decided, giving Gib's Pokeball a toss out in front of her. "Gibs! This might be a tough one but I believe you can win. Use Sand-Attack to cover your approaches as you tackle Lileep down to tire it out." Gibs nodded, flexing as she showed off in front of Chic who seemed rather impressed by the display. "Gib, Gible!" He yapped with confidence, further impressing Chic who eagerly encouraged from the sidelines. "Torchic!"

..And so Erika had Torchic thaw Lileep out. Out of a sense of honor, Erika would give Lileep a chance to wake up before giving Gible the order to begin their strategy. Sand-attack to cover the approach and tackle Lileep to the ground, at least try to. Then he'd drop back and repeat. Erika had failed to anticipate the Rock-typing to be resistant to the Normal-type tackle but well.. she'll learn.

The three heads looked at one another after Amelia had said her piece. Anger frowned at the other two, while Joy lifted his head with pride looking down at the other two while Sorrow looked back and forth at them, expression unreadable. Then… Anger smirked, as well as a bird can do that, Joy also got an amused look in his eyes and Sorrow nodded a little. Then, all three heads let out a feral cry as the being turned around and dashed pretty far, decently out of sight.

Amelia and Dawkin was left alone, except the regular dangers of Route 6. There were numerous patches of Fletchlings around, sure, and other Pokémon which are always around this route. They were allowed to have a couple of exchanges of discussion if they want to have that. But…

There was a sudden rumble getting audible a bit away. Dust-clouds rising, a sound like an incoming earthquake, and- it was coming right at them?

And in the front of them…

Dodrio, all three heads looking quite amused, was running fast in front of a charging herd of Tauros, before quickly jumping out of the way and watching from the side as the herd-missile it had sent continued careering towards Amelia and Dawkin. It was still some distance to go, the two had at least the better part of the minute before they actually arrived… but that didn’t change the fact that a horde of the angry bulls was currently charging them. The Fletchlings around panicked and flew off, not willing to defend their territory against the likes of those.

Okay. So, what would the two do now?

‘Bully? No-no-no-no. We’re training!’ Maple defended, looking a bit conflicted by the sudden accusation and the situation surrounding. However, she couldn’t continue looking at Claire because suddenly fighting-Pokémon started dropping at her Pokémon. ‘Ah!’

Fighting-types, working on ways to overcome Roar, had started climbing the buildings and jumped like living missiles at Maple’s Pokémon. Now, they could see them in advance and dodge, but this was a method of attack that Roar couldn’t stop them from doing.

‘Teppy! On the building to your right! Maggy, watch out to the left!’ She suddenly had to act spotter for her Pokémon, while Growly kept roaring and the other three kept shooting fireballs at the incoming Fighting-Pokémon, especially those that were jumping from the roofs.

For clarification, these weren’t the same as the ones on the wall

This left Ellyn alone to fend off Claire and Anise. Anise sent out Mienfoo, making this a straight four-on-four.

Disarming Voice hit three of the opponents, Natu, Mareep and Bonsly recoiling, but Cyndaquil was a bit out of range. They recoiled, with various mildly pained expression depending on the Pokémon, then faced forward again.

However, Ellyn had retaliated, sent a Thundershock and a Rock Throw at Froakie. Froakie dodged the Thundershock barely, but then took a rock to the head and fell back before jumping back onto his feet again.

‘Bird, peck the bug!’ Ellyn commanded, sending the bird after Ritz.

‘Thing, smoke the fairy!’ She then continued, making Cyndaquil step forward a bit.

Unfortunately, the speedy Natu was able to fly out of Supersonic’s path and flew quickly at Ritz for the peck. It’s probably pretty difficult to avoid. Meanwhile, Cyndaquil launched a small black ball from his snout at the various Ralia clones, which burst into a cloud of smoke enveloping their vision and getting in Ralia’s eyes, stinging a little and lowering her accuracy.

‘If we take out Growlithe, we win,’ Anise said, then smirked at the opposition. ‘Still, I believe we can win this regardless.’

‘Mienfoo, Meditate! Froakie, bubble them all!’ At her command, Mienfoo focused and increased her attack, while Froakie stopped and blew out bubbles, wide bubbles that spread over the area, heading forward.

‘Sheep, block the bubbles and shock!’ Ellyn tried to counter, Mareep dashing forward to take bubbles for Bonsly and Cyndaquil. Bonsly was mostly protected by Mareep, but Cyndaquil took a spray of Super Effective bubbles, while Mareep suffered normal damage.

‘Tree, rock the frog!’ Ellyn continued.

So, on each of her four Pokémon, Natu was homing in to peck at Ritz who was probably attempting to dodge the faster bird, Mareep and Bonsly were focusing their attacks on Froakie and Cyndaquil had just smoked at Ralia, and was probably preparing to continue that with fire.

What would Claire do?

‘Gothi,’ the Pokémon replied to the question if she was looking for a fight, not taking her eyes off Martin. The tone wasn’t giving a conclusive answer. Then Martin called out Nincada, and Gothita turned her eyes to look at the newly called out bug. Martin had Nincada do Harden, and that raised defense. Gothita looked on. Then…

‘Gothta!’ Gothita got a small gleam in her eyes as she charged some psychic energy. Suddenly, Nincada felt some unpleasant psychic touches. Now, it’s hard to say where a bug is ticklish, but Gothita was using Tickle with psychic power (since tickle “does not make contact” I’ll assume that’s how she does it). Still, Nincada suddenly had a very bad case of being tickled, lowering Attack and Defense while also being considerably unpleasant.

‘Ita-ta-ta!’ Gothita laughed a little, apparently amused by its own power. Now, perhaps, was the time Martin would counter… when suddenly Gothita lifted into the air. Of course, this meant the pull on Martin’s shadow vanished and his shadow returned to normal, for Gothita was no longer standing on it.

‘Thita?’ Gothita looked quite surprised by this as she floated into the air, tilting so she was diagonally instead of straight. … Behind her, another form had walked into the alley, a black form that had the very space around it bend by the psychic power it held.

Pokédex Entry #576 – Gothitelle, the Astral Body Pokémon. Space is distorted by its intense psychic power, and viewed through that space one can see stars thousands of lightyears away. It is capable of predicting the future by looking at the stars, and it can see the lifespans of trainers by looking at them. If it cries while looking at someone, it may mean they’re not long for this world.

Well, no crying here. While her eyes were on Martin, she was just picking up Gothita with psychic powers and then pulling her back to herself. Looks like mommy wasn’t having it.

‘Gothita.’ Gothita sounded honestly disappointed as she looked towards Martin even while drifting away. Then, with the assumption that Martin didn’t do anything to interrupt it, Gothitelle caught Gothita in her arms and then turned to walk back where she came from, Gothita making an effort to look at Martin for as long as she could before a building blocked her line of sight.

… So, that happened. So, was Martin going after the Koffing, was it? It’s still floating about over there, looking really happy by the exhaust vent of an abandoned factory.

Lileep was thawed out of the ice, and the flower Pokémon spent a number of moments swinging idly, like it was dazed after a long sleep. Then it turned its head towards Erika, the eyes in the blackness in there locking on her and Gibs, and there it froze, staring at her.

‘LEEEEP!’ it shouted out from who knows what mouth and then suddenly shot out an orange burst of Acid towards Gibs. Gibs had already shot sand back at it, and the two were hit simultaneously. Now, as Lileep is not Poison-type, it didn’t do a whole lot of damage, but that did not mean it was comfortable to be splashed with acid. Lileep recoiled, having turned towards Gibs so it got sand in its eyes, wiggling a bit in annoyance.

Gibs tackled, but found the sea lily Pokémon impossible to actually turn over. It did damage, but the flower was hard, the physical impacts not looking like they were doing more than inconveniencing it. Lileep was firmly rooted to the ground, tackling it to the ground was a no-go.

Notable Ability; Suction Cups - This Pokémon is immune to all moves that force movement or switching out.

… That said. Lileep at multiple times tried to grab ahold of Gibs with its tentacles (Constrict) and shoot Acid at him, but the sand in its eyes were making things hard. It missed, time and time again, the tackles slowly but surely depleting Lileeps health. More Sand Attacks meant Lileeps aim got even worse, and Gibs was able to avoid most attacks beyond the first Acid, perhaps hit by one Constrict that barely did anything before Gibs slipped out the grip.

Eventually, Lileep was completely weakened while Gibs was at around 60% health. Throw a Pokéball?

"Rrrral...!" As the smokescreen hit Ralia, the psychic type pouted a bit. Some of the clones were comically bumping into each other in a mildly exaggerated manner.

"Roger roger." Claire replied to Anise. Taking out the Growlithe was the only thing keeping the horde of fighting pokemon away from them. If she could take them out, then it'd be easy...but she wasn't really in any position to take out the Growlithe at the moment. Ralia could handle herself for the moment. She first needed to make sure Ritz was doing well. Peck was a flying-type, which meant if it hit Ritz then it'd probably hurt. A lot. Natu was faster than he was, after all.

"Ritz! Counter that peck with a comet punch!" No risk, no reward.

"L-led!?" She wanted him to attack it instead of dodging it? W-well, that was...Ritz steeled his nerves, and sent a flurry of punches towards Natu. "LED!"

"Ralia! Disarming voice again!" Unfortunately for them, Disarming Voice wasn't a move that could be easily dodged, even with lowered accuracy. "Send it towards Natu!" Ralia saluted. With the smokescreen accuracy was going to be bad, but she could at least throw it in Natu's general direction, and maybe disrupt a few others too.

Nincada was set to stare at Gothita, even as she used Tickle on it. Martin was almost expecting something. Anything to show Nincada understood emotion, but it looked more like the Bug was uncomfortable. Seeing as that looked to be the best it could do, Martin was set for his next command. "Alright Nincada, use Tackle on-" Martin cut himself off, seeing as his opponent was floating off the floor, even not realizing that meant he was free to move. The smaller Pokemon was being pulled back to an evolved form. Dang, was Martin starting a fight with children? "Change of plan. We're done here, Nincada. Come back."

With a flash of red light, Martin recalled Nincada. Gothita was being taken away, which wasn't that bad. He didnt exactly plan on catching a Pshysic type, so he let it go. Putting away this Pokeball, he reached for Sprout. Fight Poison with Poison and he wouldn't have to worry about the fight. "Come on out, Sprout. I need you to use Leech Seed on that Koffing. We're gonna catch it." A pokemon like this should be easy enough with a basic Pokeball.

With a second flash of light, Sprout appeared. He looked around, actually seeing the sky and not being in a cave. Then he saw his target, and happily flung seeds at the unaware Koffing.

Action: Catch that Pokemon! (Koffing)

Erika and Gible kept up their offensive strategy against Lileep and very slowly they did wear down their opponent. It was a difficult and a bit of an exhausting bout but for the most part Gibs was very much capable out there. When Lileep was looking really out of it, Erika decided to take her chances and use a Pokeball. Finding the same feeling of anxiety as she watched the Pokeball twitched with activity, she could only watch on until.. Bingo! Another Pokemon and in such a short time since Kay's capture! "Whew! Nice work Gibs! Let's take a breather!" As soon as both Chic and Gibs replied, did Erika's Pokedex make a jingle.

"Huh?" Erika muttered as she picked it out of her bag and realized there was a message for her. Her party was full? Oh. Oh! Of course! She could only have six Pokemon at any time and considering her present timeline up, it was difficult to determine who was the right fit right now. Eventually Erika tapped the Poliwag icon on her Pokedex and instantly did she see a light flash around her belt, causing one of the Pokeballs to disappear. She'll have to ask the Professor about that and make sure Poli gets the attention she needs later. Poor Poli was at a huge disadvantage on Route 5 which is where Erika had planned on doing some training later.

No later than making her decision did Joshua finally make his presence known, startling Erika somewhat. He was going on about how great Erika was going to be and fluff talk had made Erika's cheeks flush with a bright color. "Th-thanks but I don't think I'll be that good..." Erika muttered in modesty as she glanced to the side nervously.

"Right! Sneasel! I-I didn't notice before. Hi!" Erika offered Joshua's companion. In truth, Erika was also considering a Sneasel as a teammate. The Ice-Dark typing was pretty good but with Erika's devoted pursuit of a Dawnstone, that typing would be filled in a way.

"Things went well. I didn't find a Dawnstone but I caught the Lileep you saw and an Inkay that I unfroze from the ice. But boy... I am so exhausted and I think Gibs and Chic here can agree." She gestured down to the both of them and while Chic sheepishly agreed, Gibs shook his head appearing still vigorous. "Well regardless of that butthead, Gibs, I think my team have earned some time off so I was going to head to the Miner's Lodge to rest for a bit." At this point, Erika yawned, ".. And I think I'll get some shut eye, too. I did a lot of mining and it has been a bit of a day, huh."

Now with that Erika would lead Gibs and Chic off to the Miner's Lodge. She'd make small talk with Joshua a bit about the mining details but otherwise she'd make no suggestion for him to stay or go.

Ritz waited for the optimum moment to strike back with Comet Punch, and when the bird was close enough, he struck! … Successfully! He managed to hit the bird from the front three times before Natu slipped under the next punch and pecked him in the stomach for his troubles. The hit was, as between birds and bugs, Super Effective and did considerable damage, but as Natu’s actually on lower level than Ritz it only lowered him to around 55%. He can take another, just not by much.

Ralia’s launched her Disarming Voice, the sound of her voice enchanted with fairy magic tracked down Natu’s ears and struck, and having been caused considerable damage he broke away from Ritz to circle about and find a new angle, making use of speed to find a new opening. Natu had been flanking and was off from comrades, so the other enemies were relatively safe from Disarming Voice due to direction.

Meanwhile.

Froakie dodged another lightning-bolt only to be hit by another thrown rock, the frog looked pretty dazed by rocks now and more than half damaged, yet ready to fight some more. And here Anise employed her plan.

‘Mienfoo, tackle the Mareep aside, Pound!’ So she commanded, and Mienfoo bounced forward to attack, empowered by Meditate. While doing so, Anise continued. ‘Froakie, Bubble Cyndaquil and Bonsly!’ she followed up, and Froakie jumped forward.

‘Tsk. Sheep, shock anything. Thing, smoke the ground and dodge!’ Ellyn attempted to counter. So, compared to Mareep, Mienfoo is both bigger and stronger. Mareep launched a Thundershock, which hit Mienfoo, but the Fighting-type overpowered the damage from the shocks to dart in next to Mareep and strike it with a palm of a Pound while jumping, carrying the sheep out of the way and brought both of them closer to Ralia.

Cyndaquil blasted a Smokescreen into the ground between him, Bonsly and Froakie, before darting aside to take cover. Froakie, meanwhile, spew out a vast amount of bubbles which drifted through the smoke, at least a number hitting Cyndaquil and Bonsly. Ellyn herself stood in the way of them hitting Growlithe, though. Froakie made his way through the smoke, closer to the two Pokémon weak to his bubbles.

Meanwhile, Mienfoo came to a stop as he had struck Mareep aside. She had avoided becoming paralyzed and stood ready to attack the sheep again. Said sheep was glaring back and charging another Thundershock. Bonsly was picking another rock to throw at Froakie and Cyndaquil was looking like it was preparing to fire an Ember at Mienfoo’s back to allow Mareep to get back and thundering the frog.

With other words, Ritz and Ralia were relatively unattended, except for Natu circling and waiting for a moment to strike. What would Claire do?

Martin turned to a new target. Koffing, over here, floating around with that big smile when Sprout flung Leech Seed at it.

‘KOFFING!’ Koffing proudly announced as it flew close and belched purple gas in all directions which would quickly envelop Sprout. … And there Koffing could float with a big smile as it slowly pieced together why Poison Gas did absolutely nothing on the at-a-glance grass-type. Being sapped of more energy, Koffing had to change his plan.

There was enough time there if Sprout wanted to do one other move in between, keeping in mind that Koffing was levitating (notable ability: levitate, hah) around two meters into the air. But, after enough consideration had gone into it not working, Koffing took more direct tactics.

‘… KOFF!’ The smiling poison-filled ball expelled some gas and launched itself at Sprout, aiming for a good old tried and true Tackle. It was also charging some smoke inside it preparing for a potential smoke-related attack, but one attack at a time. What would Martin and Sprout do?

Poli was sent back to the PC.

‘But I do think so!’ Joshua replied with a smile to Erika’s belief that she wouldn’t get that strong. Then there was the introduction to Sneasel and the Pokémon smirked and gave her a little claw-filled wave before Erika went along to the rest of her retelling. ‘Lileep and Inkay, huh.’ He remarked, those not being that common names. Anyways, Erika went on to mention that she intended to get some shut eye and rest, and…

‘Huh, here?’ Joshua blinks at the direction of the miner’s place, and then looks to Erika with a bit of a smirk. ‘Okay, maybe it’s right at home for you, but I’d probably prefer someplace just a bit warmer for me to rest on. Like, Lakewatch Town or perhaps just head on to Stillwood Village. That’s where we were intending on going, anyway. Or… did you intend to continue mining? Well, that’s fine, too.’ Regardless of what she determined, Joshua could stay and talk mining a bit, but he needed to go get Ewan and would rather not rest in Frozen Cavern if he could help it, but Erika could. They could meet up on Route 5 later again if so suited them.

Anyways, if Erika otherwise didn’t change her course of action of resting inside Frozen Cave at somewhere the miners tended to rest, she could do so. Isaac could make sure she got a little corner of her own with a blanket and something soft to rest on, and then she could stay there for as long as she liked while her Pokémon could rest as well.

In the case she did so, eventually she’d come to in the Frozen Cave Mines again, and from there it was up to her what she wanted to do now.

Connected areas:
Route 5. Exit the mines and you’ll be right there.
Frozen Cave. The Frozen Cave proper awaits beyond the mine.

"Alright! Nice hit Ritz!" Claire shouted. Ritz winced in rather obvious pain, but seemed to tough it out as he righted himself. Urgh, that Natu was just being really annoying. "Keep the strat up boy! Don't let 'em get another hit in!" She had to trust Ritz could handle himself right now. With the pressure being more on Froakie and Mienfoo, she couldn't not support them in some fashion. She could bring in Del - a Beedrill would probably help a lot in this situation, but she wasn't sure if she could handle three pokemon all at once yet.

"Ralia! Confusion on the Mareep!" The clones immediately did a 180, twirling in place towards the Mareep, charging up a psychic blast towards the sheep. If she could help Anise take care of that Mareep, then it'd let Ritz and Froakie both breathe a little easier.

The seeds were tightly attached to Koffing as it replies with any move a Poison type would do. Try to poison the enemy. Martin gave a chuckle, that won't be happening to Sprout. Martin spotted his chance when Koffing floated unaware, smug that it worked. "Alright Sprout, use Vine Whip to weaken it. Follow it up with Growl to stall the fight." While Koffing was in the air, he already had a move to fight back. Between the hit and the next Leech Seed, that should be just the right timing to catch it. Even though Grass was weak against Poison, it would make sure he doesn't accidentally make Koffing faint before capture. Martin was already holding a spare Pokeball in his hand, waiting for his opportunity.

Sprout breathed in the gas surrounding him. Other than the foul smell given off, it was refreshing to breathe. Facing Koffing, he lashed at the airborne target with long vines to strike it down. It was all to easy as it was already coming closer at the same time. While Koffing would be fast enough to get his hit in, that wouldn't stop Sprout from trying to weaken his foe after.

At first Dawkin was relieved that the Dodrio had been sent away. "Well, you dealt with that rather well, looks like we can continue without confronation." He said, rather pleased with the result. Or at least it had appeared they could do that. That was before a large rumbling sound indicaited the herd of Tarous, lead by the considerate Dodrio from earlier, was charging towards them. Shit. "Run!" He shouted and began doing just that, running perpendicular from them, if they just moved out of the direct line of fire they should be fine

"It would seem so. Thank Arceus for that." Amelia said, sighing in releif before setting off again. They didn't have long until the rumbling started and when she turned and saw what was heading their way, she had more then on reason to fear them. Still, she didn't say a thing as she ran after Dawkin, hoping that the herd of angry bolvine pokemon didn't follow them.

The two young Pokémon Trainers ran aside from the large herd of Tauros. Now, they maybe didn't have all that much time to spare, but rampaging Tauros of Route 6 aren't exactly the most stealthy of creatures, they had been seen coming from quite a distance away. In addition, the Tauros weren't even after them, they were chasing the ghost of a Dodrio that was no longer there because the bird had leapt out of the way. Assuming no mishaps, they'd safely be able to run out of the way of incomming herd before it reached them. That's not to say they'd be untouched, though. Being that close to a herd of charging Tauros is like the midst of an earthquake, the ground itself shaking beneath them and Bunnelbys fleeing their burrows arround them as the huge group of angry bulls bulldozed past them. But, as soon as the bulls were gone, it'd just be them again. ... And the Dodrio laughing with all three heads over there.

Dawkin panted a bit and adjusted his footing as the herd of Tauros ran past them in a stampede that shook the earth, nearly knocking him to the ground despite the fact that they hadn't even touched him. From the mocking cires of the Dodrio, it was clear to see who was the case of that particular incident. Dawkin glared at it and his hand ran over one his Pokeballs. He sorely wanted to teach Dumb Dumber and Dumbest over there a lesson but... he wasn't sure he could take the evolved pokemon in a fight. Dawkin huffed before turning to Amelia and struggling to replace his glower with a more friendly expression, "Hey you doing alright? Those Tarous really have an impact huh."

Amelia didn't reply right away as she caught her breath. She was obviously not in the best physical shape, which might be surprising since she was now spending all day walking these days, so it took a few seconds.
"That's definately... one way to put it." She said before looking over at the bird. She was silent for a few more seconds before looking around. "Well, since that's out of the way, I think it would be best if we moved on. And if Dumbdrio over there gets in our way, just ignore it. I'd rather cross into another pokemons territory then deal with it."

Dawkin rolled his eyes when the conversation was brought to Dodrio. "Yeah, you're right, we'll just try to ignore it." He said and began walking on, avoiding looking at the Dodrio to give it any further satisfaction. Dawkin glanced back at her, "You sure you're ok? We can double back if we need to."

"Yeah, I'll be fine. So worry about me." Amelia said, saying the kind of thing that usually made people do the exact opposite. She looked around to get her bearings before setting off in the direction they had been traveling before the herd of Taurus almost ran then over.

Apparently hearing the nickname, Joy snorted and Anger cackled a bit, before the Dodrio collectively turned and walked in another direction. They were momentarily satisfied by their prank, it appeared. Regardless, the two would find that the path ahead was clear, the rampage of the Tauros herd had made any other threats clear out of the way. There were a number of Miltanks grazing the field ahead and there were a couple stray and confused angry Tauros, but otherwise it was just the normal things in the distance. Crowds of Starlys, Doduo and Ponytas here and there, and the rest of the inhabitants of Route 6 were never too far away should they desire to be found. For the moment, they were safe. With the assumption Dodrio wasn't playing a trick on them.

Update because the GM is terrible at reading. Natu cannot fly yet, because its wings are underdeveloped. It’s just really good at skipping. With this in mind, he’s been skipping the whole time. It’s still as fast, though.

Natu jumped to attack Ritz again, and a similar exchange to the previous one took place. Ritz got in two punches but Natu struck another Peck, leaving Ritz on the edge of fainting while a majorly damaged Natu fell down and jumped away to seek another opportunity to strike, preferably without being countered. He was definitely aiming to faint Ritz.

In the other direction, Mareep Thundershocked at Mienfoo who struck back at Mareep with Pound, while at the same time Ralia shoot a Confusion at Mareep and Cyndaquil shot an Ember at Mienfoo. Mareep got blown by physical force from both directions by Pound and Confusion, while Mienfoo took a Thundershock from the front and an Ember blast from the back. Neither of the Pokémon fainted, but Mienfoo cried out while heavily damaged and staggered, while Mareep also staggered and wouldn’t stay conscious from another hit.

Froakie sent Bubble directly at Bonsly and Cyndaquil, and the two were unable to move out of the way. Two pairs of Super Effective blows hit the two, once again. However, Bonsly found an opening through the bubbles to Rock Throw and hit Froakie square in the face, sending the frog rolling back. Three Rock Throws from a higher-level Bonsly became too much. Froakie fainted.

However, with numerous bubbles having hit Bonsly and Cyndaquil had taken quite a bit of bubbles now, and both on their last legs. This left Mareep, Bonsly and Cyndaquil all on the verge of fainting, while Froakie had fainted and Mienfoo was on the verge of fainting (because Anise’s Pokémon are under-leveled). Ritz was also on the verge of fainting, but Ralia was fine, leaving the advantage generally in Claire’s corner. Ellyn’s eyes gazed over the battle and came to a conclusion.

‘Maple.’ She called her partner’s attention, who was panicking keeping her fire-types holding off the horde of Fighting-types which were slowly gaining an advantage, Growlithe’s throat getting hoarse from repeated Roars.

‘What!?’ Maple asked back, alarmed.

‘We’re not winning this. They have more Pokémon we haven’t seen yet,’ Ellyn told, voice very realistic.

‘Ooooough…’ Maple’s spirit looked like it had been drained by Ellyn’s words, hands shaking a bit as they were surrounded by Fighting-types on one side and Claire’s force on the other.

‘“No running from a trainer battle” in all glory, but mind if we bail?’ Ellyn looked to Claire and Anise, gaze slightly perturbed from the surrounding situation.

Anise smirked a little at the words, but was otherwise ready to give Mienfoo another command if they were going to continue.

Sprout’s Vine Whip struck the Koffing head on, making the smoke balloon spin back a bit, still grinning and with smoke coming out the holes, before…

‘KOFFING!’ It flew quickly at Sprout and him with a Tackle, while the smoke of Smog started taking form. But, before that, Koffing was drained again by Leech Seed, Sprout regaining part of the lost health from the Tackle, and Martin threw the Pokéball. Vine Whip had been Not Very Effective, but Martin wasn’t aiming to take Koffing down, anyway. Growl reduced Koffing’s attack. Then.

Koffing was hit by the Pokéball, and with a flash of light the ball fell onto the floor.

It rolled once…

As said, they’re not free to do things. The Vast Plains of Route 6 still lie before them, along with all the Pokémon which it holds. In addition to what’s said above, a number of Bunnelbys had woken up from the thunder and were peeking out to gauge the danger but were otherwise fine. Anyways. What would the two do now?

Connected areas:
Route 5. In the north-west, connecting Lakewatch and Stillwood. If you’d like to go back.
Endless Forest. To the west, a dark forest looms. It’s still there. Just further now.
More Route 6. Keeping going.

It at least seemed the aptly named Dumbdrio was content with the mischief it had caused for now. Dawkin gave Amelia one last evaluating look to ensure she was really alright before following after her through Route 6. He observed the presence of the curious Bunnelbys but had no interest in catching them, even if he wasn't obligated to help Amelia over himself.

The second peck hit Ritz as his own punch slammed into Natu. The recoil sent Ritz stumbling backwards, wincing as he was hit with the bird pokemons sharp beak. Claire grimaced herself, but that was fine. That, is why you come prepared for such things! In all, this was going really well! Their two pokemon had taken significant damage, and the two of them were still going pretty strong. Meinfoo and Froakie were hurting, but she could team carry easily...and then Ellyn had the audacity to ask something. Let them go? In one hand, she didn't want too because it'd be nice to teach 'em a lesson. On the other hand...fighting them while a horde of irritable fighting types were on the other side, did not seem like it'd be a fun time for them.

"Eeeh? Bail?" She smirked. "What's the matter? Where's that attitude you were given me earlier, huh?" It was probably a good idea to let them run, honestly. She couldn't just not mess with them a little though. "Besides, you're gonna lose right? You'd be good for training." Throwing their own words back in their own faces. Now that was funny to her. That said, with an entire castle of fighting type pokemon that had been riled up it'd be a bad idea to let them fight like this when they were obviously underpowered and more than a little vulnerable now.

"Buuut I'm not in the habit of being a bad guy unless it's in a video game, so let's let 'em go, Anise." Claire said, looking to her partner. "We uh, should probably, uh, skeddadle, as well y'know, cuz Ritz is pretty tired and Mienfoo isn't looking too good either. I think we beat a good lesson into their butts. If not, I'll just have to smack 'em harder next time." She grinned at Anise.

The fight between Sprout and Koffing was going great. With Leech Seed taking affect and a solid Vine Whip, Martin tossed his Pokeball. He was set to call it a simple catch. Once, twice, no. Koffing refused to be caught, already attacking Sprout again. "You got a bit of fight in you still, don't you? Sprout, use another Vine Whip. He won't be escaping this time." With yet another Vine Whip and Leech Seed slowly sapping it, there shouldn't be much steam left for Koffing to fight back. Another Pokeball should be the one this time. If it escaped, he'd have to really consider if it was worth another try.

Sprout also was set on walking away, disappointed in how easy that fight was. The flash of light caught Sprout's eye, already turning to hit it with vines again. The gas of poison was heading towards him, but that didn't matter.

Action: Throw another Pokeball after Vine Whip and another sap of Leech Seed.

@Joshua Tamashii@Eklispe

The two made their way through Route 6 as quickly as they could. That turned out to be a bunch of trouble, having to avoid several herds of Tauros that occasionally were in movement, and as they had learned Dodrios were potentially a danger if they even saw them. They might have had to battle a couple low-leveled Fletchlings if they didn’t want to take long detours, but otherwise they were getting through with relative safety, occasionally seeing other trainers riding through on Pokémon or otherwise. Seemed like riding on Pokémon was the preferred method of crossing this route. There were more sights of Kangaskhans feeding and playing with their young and Pyroars trying to capture stray Tauros or Bouffalants, but otherwise it was just the Ponytas and Doduos running around that were the regular sight.

However, as the mountain range to the north cleared, the surroundings changed. It was still a vast route of green in all directions, but suddenly, people appeared. This now was the sole route through which to reach Raremine Town, and seeing how most of the traffic to and from Raremine Town goes to Worldedge City in the north this makes the eastern part of Route 6 way more populated, and perhaps as a result, way safer. It was still just a vast plain and there were still herds of Tauros, everyone kept out of their way, but the Bouffalants, Dodrios and the Fletchlings seemed to know better than to make territories in places where trainers commonly passed through. There were wagons of boxes being pulled north, and trainers looking to catch some of the wildlife in Route 6 in a safer environment and the other end of the Rapidash Rapid Delivery could be seen on the outskirts of Raremine Town.

And there, travelling along, was a single motor-powered truck, running carefully over the road-less plains with a huge cargo. A single female trainer on the back of a Rapidash was prancing on the left side of it, standing by as if guarding it… which considering the Route was quite likely. That was all it was, and seeing how the area was safe, Dawkin and Amelia could safely make their way forward towards wherever their next destination was. From here, Route 8 awaited in the north, and further east was the ferry over Route 16 or Raremine Town. Looked like it would be easy sailing from here on ou-

The earth suddenly shook. Something beneath the ground was making it vibrate, and the trainer on the Rapidash staggered by the truck. The force of the vibrations where heavy for several seconds, before suddenly the ground behind the truck exploded in dirt and sand, a massive creature opening its wide maw and blasted out from under the ground.

Pokédex Entry #450 – Hippowdon, the Heavyweight Pokémon. It has sand gathered inside ports on its body which it blasts out in towering twisters to attack. It is known to be quick to anger, and carries within it a huge strength. Its gaping mouth can open over seven feet wide and crush down with enough force to total a vehicle.

True to the words of the Pokédex, the Hippowdon’s teeth stabbed into the back ramp of the truck, and then tore the whole backside of the vehicle off, throwing the flat piece of chewed metal scampering over the plains. This was done before either the driver or the trainer beside the truck realized what was going on. And then…

There was a sudden rush as Pokémon exited the truck. Some were bugs that fell onto the ground and quickly crawled off at high speed. Others were flightless birds that jumped and attempted to glide away. More numerous were two different kinds of two-legged tailed lizards that jumped down and ran angrily in any direction they could muster. What they all had in common, however, was that these were not Pokémon you commonly saw in this day and age. In fact, they should all be extinct.

Pokédex Entry #347 – Anorith, the Old Shrimp Pokémon. It once swan in warm seas, it lives today only through reanimation from fossils. It hides behind rocks and then springs out with speed and clutches onto prey with its two large claws. While it once was a great swimmer with its eight wings, something in the water has changed and today’s water is inhospitable to it.

Pokédex Entry #408 – Cranidos, the Head Butt Pokémon. A primeval Pokémon, it lived in jungles 100 million years ago, alive today only through reanimation from fossils. Its skull is extremely hard, used for headbutting prey and enemies. It’s known to headbutt trees to snap and fell them for no apparent purpose. It noticeably lacks intelligence.

Pokédex Entry #566 – Archen, the First Bird Pokémon. Revived from a fossil, it’s said to be the ancestor of all bird-Pokémon, though later research says this might not be the case. They were unable to fly, but lived in tree-tops and used their wings to jump from tree-branch to tree-branch or simply to glide a considerable distance.

Pokédex Entry #696 – Tyrunt, the Royal Heir Pokémon. A Pokémon that was restored from a fossil, it originally lived 100 million years ago. It is largely known to be spoiled and selfish, if it doesn’t get what it wants it throws a temper tantrum. Such tantrums are highly dangerous as their jaws are strong enough to chew up an automobile.

‘NO!’ the driver of the truck suddenly cried out as the ancient Pokémon spread out. He stood on the breaks, causing the truck to come to a sudden stop, but barely had the truck stopped before he had kicked open the door, holding up two Pokéballs. ‘Yanmega, Bronzong! Recapture them!’ He threw down the two Pokéballs, and with two flashes of light two Pokémon appeared. One large, green, tailed and flying, the other big, blue, metallic and levitating.

‘Yaaaaan!’
Brooooooooooooooooooooon…’

Pokédex Entry #469 – Yanmega, the Ogre Darner Pokémon. It’s wings are strong, it can create shock-waves by churning its wing and can easily carry an adult human on its back while in flight. It has an amazing jaw-strength, which it uses in its preferred combat strategy of soaring in to bite at top speed before flying away again for another run.

Pokédex Entry #437 – Bronzong, the Bronze Bell Pokémon. It caused a buzz when it was first dug up at a construction site after 2000 years. Dug up from the ground, these Pokémon were in ancient times revered as a bringer of rain and plentiful harvest. It can summon rain clouds, allegedly by opening portals to another world, it is said.

Meanwhile, the trainer on the Rapidash jumped off her steed, and threw down another Pokéball. With a flash, a majestic bird of brown feathers and long comb spread its wings and drifted into the air.

Pokédex Entry #78 – Rapidash, the Fire Horse Pokémon. Can usually be found cantering plains or fields. It is very competitive about speed, loving to run at full speed, around 150 mph. At great speed, its flames blaze ferociously, enhancing its appearance. It only slows down to let its children catch up to it.

Pokédex Entry #18 – Pidgeot, the Bird Pokémon. This Pokémon is known to fly at 1000 meters height to spot Magikarp over water before soaring down to catch. It is capable of flying at Mach 2. If threatened, it spreads its wings to appear intimidating, and if that doesn’t work it can unleash gusts capable of bending trees.

‘Roland, Perseus! Herd in the ancient Pokémon, don’t let them get away!’ the female trainer commanded, and as the wind the horse and the bird were away, faster than even the most energetic critter. With Yanmega, Pidgeot and Rapidash all as quick Pokémon able to catch up to the relatively slow ancient Pokémon, they were herding in most, but…

‘HIPPOOOOW…!’ The Hippowdon in their midst suddenly shouted out, and a vast stream of sand shot out from its insides, the area suddenly blowing into a powerful sandstorm. Yanmega, Pidgeot and Rapidash all had trouble navigating and herding as normal in the midst of Hippowdon’s sandstorm. … But which ones weren’t affected the slightest? Why, the fleeing group of ancient Pokémon of course, courtesy of their shared Rock-type. They could flee right past the Pokémon trying to herd them, and straight towards… why, that would appear to be straight at Dawkin and Amelia.

It wasn’t ALL the ancient Pokémon, they scattered in all the directions of the compass, but…

When you got one of each heading towards you, one can just wonder what the difference really is.

So, what now? Leap out of the way and protect your own skin? Actually make an effort to fight back and keep the truck-owner’s Pokémon from escaping? Figure that there is something really suspicious about a truck-driver travelling with a truck-load of ancient Pokémon and that perhaps Hippowdon’s the good guy and try to act accordingly? Some other possibility?

All up to Dawkin and Amelia.

It should be noted that the sandstorm grows weaker the further from Hippowdon it is, and the two of them are a bit of a distance away, further away than a regular Pokémon battle would be able to take place on. They're outside the distance where it'd count as effective herding by the Pokémon of the herder, so to say, the ancient Pokémon were emerging from the dangerous part of the sandstorm and coming at them. Their Pokémon would not be buffeted by the sandstorm by just this, though notably there's still sand in the air.

Ellyn didn’t look even the slightest amused by Claire’s words, keeping a straight face and staring back with a frown, not saying a word. Her Pokémon returned to her, Mareep stumbling back and both Bonsly and Cyndaquil walking back to her, still focused on Claire and Anise’s Pokémon. Natu jumped back, expressionlessly staring at them. Then, at Claire’s “let’s let them go, Anise”, Ellyn was already retrieving her Pokémon.

‘Maple, we’re running,’ she told Maple after her Pokémon minus Natu were back in their Pokéballs.

‘… Huh, I think that’s the first time you’ve told me what we’re doing instead of the other way around…’ Maple mused. Ellyn didn’t react, though Maple smiled a bit. ‘Okay. Maggy! Flary! Growly! Teppy! We’re running!’

So, while not in the usual way…

Claire and Anise were victorious! Claire gained 2040P for winning!

Ritz grew to Level 14!
Ritz learned Light Screen!
Ritz learned Reflect!
Ritz learned Safeguard!

‘Alright, let’s go then,’ Anise confirmed. And with the assumption that they then skedaddled, they spun around and-

KABLAM

Three Pokémon had landed, two of them with heavy impacts, the third with a nimble drop to one knee and one hand into the ground with supreme grace.

Pokédex Entry #675 – Pangoro, the Daunting Pokémon. It is known to be violent in battle, raging forth at enemies like in a berserker rage. To earn the respect of a Pangoro, a trainer will need to learn to fist-fight with it occasionally. It is, however, quite kind-hearted and will defend companions or the weak in the face of oppressors. Twitches in its bamboo leaf somehow allows it to predict an opponent’s moves.

Pokédex Entry #534 – Conkeldurr, the Muscular Pokémon. It uses concrete pillars as walking canes, and can swing these pillars freely in battle using the centrifugal force of spinning concrete. It is said that, thousands of years ago, Conkeldurr taught humans how to make concrete.

Pokédex Entry #448 – Lucario, the Aura Pokémon. It can sense the Aura of others, and can by that read their thoughts and movements, and can by that detect even far-off or hidden foes. They use this to detect prey, and also employ aura as offensive power. Often hunt in packs.

Pangoro roared out, hands held out wide, Conkeldurr and Lucario standing somewhat behind the roaring Pokémon. The Pangoro was huge, obvious scars going over its shoulders and body, one specific going right through its (still intact) right eye vertically. It was obvious from here this was the Pokémon in charge.

… Aaaaaaaand behind them numerous smaller Pokémon were tumbling down the wall trying desperately to copy their head-honcho but only resulted in them falling on their faces or into uncomfortable piles. Yet, as soon as they were able to, the energetic henchmen did their best to get on their feet and dash to flank their leader to look at Claire and the rest, doing their best to strike poses to look as cool and intimidating as the Pangoro. They were failing.

Pokédex Entry #674 – Pancham, the Playful Pokémon. It follows Pangoro around like henchmen, imitating the leader to the best of its ability, but it’s nowhere near as intimidating. Besides this, it enjoys being played with can be quite mischievous. It’s rather easy to trick, so if you pretend to be scared by its glare it can be very effective for boosting its confidence.

‘Thaaaaaaaaat’s the king of the castle…’ Anise confirmed the obvious about the Pangoro that had blocked the way out. And, just in case they figured they’d turn around and try to make their way in the other way, two other very powerful Fighting-types were walking through the rest, the smaller fighting-types quickly darting aside to allow their superiors to walk through. And these two were slightly different types.

Pokédex Entry #286 – Breloom, the Mushroom Pokémon. It lives in warm and humid climates feeding on trees and plants in fields or forests. It’s a powerful fighter, with light footwork and punches that stretch, it’s said to put pro boxers to shame. The seeds on its tail are poisonous and should not be eaten. It spreads poisonous spores from its head as it fights, taking advantage of the dazed opponent.

Well, this particular Breloom seems to have gotten lost in the mountains, frowning at them and standing guard.

Pokédex Entry #392 – Infernape, the Flame Pokémon. Its crown of fire is indicative of its fiery nature. It uses a special martial art that incorporates all its limbs in addition to the flames on its hands and feet when it attacks. It is known for its supreme agility and speed, as well as its willingness to take on any opponent no matter how tough.

The Infernape was leaning on a building with crossed arms, leg on the building looking at them, ready to spring to action. They were positively surrounded by powerful fighting-types.

‘Welp,’ Ellyn declared in an unenthusiastic and absent tone, ‘we had a good run. Nice knowing you.’

‘Wait, wah-wah we’re not dead yet! Maple objected in panic, spinning towards the king of the castle and bowing. ‘We challenged the castle, and we concede defeat! We’re truly no match to his coolness!’ Maple attempted, smiling to the king.

Notably, Anise was utterly calm, even relaxed, despite the circumstances. The scarred king Pangoro looked over them silently for numerous seconds, his henchmen standing around or occasionally giving coy shouts to intimidate or unnerve the individuals present while the king considered.

So, would Claire do anything?

Despite Sprout’s consideration, Smog did matter somewhat, doing a decent bit of damage, even if it couldn’t poison. In any case, Koffing rolled from another Vine Whip and sapped a bit more from the Leech Seed growing on him, and then Martin threw another Pokéball. Koffing was hit, and with a flash of light it went inside the Pokéball, which dropped to the ground.

It rolled once, it rolled twice…

Dawkin Trustram

They kept moving, avoiding the various hazards of the route. It become clear to Dawkin how one could profit off running a transportation service this route, it was not only long, but also full of hazards. Still, everything seemed to be going all right. That was, until a Hippowdon (not native to the region, trainer controlled?) erupted and basically ate the back end of the truck, tipping it over. Even more surprising was the torrent of ancient pokemon that flooded out of it. The driver and Rapidash owner nearby quickly tried to contain them, but the Hippowdown cause more chaos by whipping up a sandstorm that blinded and hindered everyone by the ancient Pokemon who happily kept running. Directly towards Amelia and himself. Dawkin shielded his eyes quickly and considered what was best to do. There wasn't exactly much time for discussion. From what he saw, it could be assumed the Hippowdon, trainer owned or not, was disrupting what was likely an illegal operation of some sort. As much as Dawkin might like to take the chance to capture one of these Pokemon, there was a nagging voice in the back of his head suspiciously similar to Proffesor Kalmia that said doing so would be unethical. At this point it would probably be best if the ancient pokemon simply dispersed and he didn't get in their way, so he began running out of their path, "Hey Amelia, let's retreat to a better vantage spot for now!"

Ritz let out a tired sigh, fluttering down to Claire and latching onto her back, poking his head over her shoulder and giving him a comforting pat on the head and a bright grin. Ralia hurriedly walked back over once the battle was seemingly done, but was keeping an eye on the fighting types - at least until she noticed the three fighting types from earlier making their entrance. The Ralts looked up, giving a small cry a mild distress.

"Eh? What is it girl-"

Before she could finish, there was a loud crashing noise as A Pangoro, Conkeldurr, and Lucario dropped from the ceiling onto the floor behind them, blocking their escape. That pangoro looked like it had seem some crazy stuff in its life, and the other two certainly didn't look any worse either.

"King...?" Oh, so he was the head honcho. Hah! Behind them, was a Breloom and a Infernape who seemed to be trying to cut off their escape. Well, if that Pangoro was the one calling the shots around here, it'd be easy to sweet talk or wrestle her way out of this. Probably. She'd bet her cute butt on it. Despite Ellyns obvious sarcasm and fear, Maple's attempts at appeasement, and Anise's calmness...Claire felt simple excitement. This was probably a horrible idea, buuuut...well, she was full of those.

She came here to wrestle a machamp damn it, but a Pangoro would be just as fun.

"Hey! Cousin of that pangoro from Kung-fu-Pangoro!" Claire waved, smiling and grinning eagerly at the Pangoro. She took a few steps forward, seemingly not scared at all of the powerful fighting types around her, or their attempts at intimidation. Ritz was doing his best to imitate his trainers confidence, but after that beating the most he could manage was to simply cling to her back and shoulders. Ralia simply walked over to the Infernape, looking up at the ape and tilting her head to the side in a curious seeming manner.

"You look strong! Lets wrestle!" Terrible idea? Probably.

Sprout took the Smog, not realizing it hurt a lot more than he expected, finishing his attack unfazed. The return of health from Leech Seed made him look a bit better, followed by Martin tossing his Pokeball. 1, 2, click. Martin was excited, it worked this time. "Nice work, Sprout. Looks like we're done here. Just got to head back, and..." Martin was stopped in the middle of talking, it was a Trubbish, waving at him. It must have been the one from earlier, because it was trying to get him to follow. Martin didn't get a chance to ask questions, as it already started running. "Guess I'm not done exploring today, let's go, Sprout."

Martin followed after Trubbish, having to keep up with it, and navigate through a couple of alleys. Koffing and Muk were freely walking around back here. Just a haven for Poison types to live back here. Shaking his head, Martin followed Trubbish through a long abandoned factory. Why did Trubbish bring him all the way back here? It didn't take long before Martin saw it. Among the older metal and structures was a fully working sealed door. It even had a keycard locking it. "Is this what you were trying to show me, Trubbish?" Trubbish made a sound before leaving the area, which was lost in what it meant to Martin.

Sprout heard what Trubbish said before it left. There was danger on the other side of the door, and Martin had no idea. He had planned on going back to the Pokecenter for a quick heal up, but this was more important to him. "Team Virtue must be using this. Seeing as a large group of them are back in that cave. This looks like a chance to see what they're hiding. Ready to see what's behind this door, Sprout? Martin had a strange feeling that this was for Team Virtue, and if Trubbish found it. Then this keycard had to work. Sprout didn't want to go in there, but that didn't stop him from giving a look of confidence.

"That's great. hope this works." Martin pulled out his keycard from the cave, and inserted it into the lock. What could wait inside?

Pirouette Stories Yet Untold

Member Seen 7 days ago

❄Erika Olson❄

Erika considered for a moment what she wanted to do but ultimately believed that resting here for the night was best. She still intended on getting her green gem appraised and her Pokemon were likely just as exhausted as she was. "Oh! Yea! Ha! I guess this might seem really cold to others, especially considering I'd go camping sometimes on Mount Chill with my mother..." Erika paused, thinking back to all that time spent with her mother. Those nights were some of the coldest Erika had ever felt but all that time with her mother and learning how to become a trainer made things worth it. On one of those trips as well, Erika swears she encountered a wild Froslass up that mountain. If Joshua was interested, Erika would quickly tell her story about exactly why Froslass was her favorite Pokemon and that encounter was certainly the primary reason why.

In short, the story went like this...

During one of her hikes with her mother, a fierce blizzard had suddenly appeared. It could have been a very powerful Abomasnow walking by because it was so sudden, at least that's what Erika's mother believed. Regardless, the blizzard was so intense that Erika had accidentally fallen behind while they were trying to make their way back to camp. In that blizzard, a Froslass had crept up and scared her half to death with a sudden appearance though the frosted veil. Although Froslass usually have quiet the nefarious relationship, the Froslass that Erika had met lead her back to her mother. Ever since then, Erika has been quiet mystified by the ghostly Pokemon that she wanted one herself.

Now assuming Joshua was interested and stuck around to hear the story, Erika would conclude that she supposes the cold doesn't really bother her anyway. She might give mining one last shot tomorrow but there were a lot of reasons to continue. One of those reasons, Claire, was supposed to meet her there eventually. Erika hoped she wouldn't be late and make Claire wait.

With that she bid Joshua a farewell, saying she'll probably be in Stillwood early tomorrow so if they wanted to meetup for lunch then they could! Now with her by herself, she decided to let her whole team out to stretch their legs and rest. She also felt like her new team members, those frozen in ice, would probably like the freedom to see things a bit. So she would pull each out of their Pokeballs.

The first Pokemon Erika received and her secret favorite, Sno was the first to come forth. She took a quiet glance around the lodge before grinning and rubbing her hands together. It was likely she realized she was close to something like home. Erika gave her a pat and brought Chic out next. Seeing as she was always excitable, Chic tiredly screeched out of excitement as it ran around Erika and Sno before collapsing. Erika bent down and picked her up, placing her delicately on the cushion behind her. Gibs, upon being brought in, opened his mouth wide and give a long yawn before straightening out giving Sno a nudge before flexing his muscles, staying true to being tough. Chu, one who Erika hadn't gotten to know much up to this point, glanced around a bit hesitant but curious at all the new faces (save for Gibs who he took a step away from). Eep was rather lethargic, drooping slightly as he stayed rooted to one spot also glancing around.

Finally Kay was certainly... a handful. The first thing she did was slap Erika's hand away with her stubby tentacle and swam up away. Erika frowned, calling Kay to calm down, nobody is going to hurt her. However Kay ignored this, turned away, and then began fluttering towards the door! Erika, surprised slightly, clambered to chased after Kay but once the Inkay noticed she was being pursued began hurrying off and swam in a sporadic pattern. Gibs, who still remembered the game, chased after Erika hoping to poke her in a game of "tag" again. The rest of Erika's Pokemon watched as the spectacle went on for a moment before Erika made a diving catch and seized Inkay in her arms. Clutching her Pokemon tightly but not too tight, Erika gently stroked Kay's side, telling her it is okay and she can be outside her Pokeball to sleep with the rest of the team but she needs to be good. At this time, Gibs caught up and began poking Erika in the ankle before finally lifting his arms in victory for another game won. The rest of Erika's team applauded.

With everything settled down, Erika and her team went to bed. Kay separated herself from the rest, opting to sleep on a shelf above everyone else. Sno was secretly tasked by Erika to keep an eye on her.

Anyway, Erika surprisingly got plenty of sleep before waking up the next day. With her team all accounted for, she returned them to their Pokeballs and set off for the Miner's Shop. She wanted to quickly check to see what was new and once she did that, she pulled out her Bug Gem for Isaac to identify, since Erika didn't know what it was.

Amelia was happy when the rest of the trip down the route passed by in relative peace, save for when they had to move out of the way of a passing herb of pokemon. Part of her wished they had taken the transport service now, but otherwise she enjoyed the walk, with it's scenery and rather active wildlife. She wished she could find a place to sit down and make a sketch of it all, but doing so was too risky for the possible reward.

As they moved down the route, they came across a truck with a trainer on a Rapidash acting as either escort of bodyguard. They didn't get to observe the truck in peace for along, as it was soon under attack from a Hippowdon, something Amelia thought looked awefully out of place on this route. She didn't have long to think about it, as the attack revealed that the truck was loaded with ancient pokemon. Getting a stronger feeling that this was probably something less the legal, Amelia made it a point to examine the trainer on the rapidash and memorize as much detail about their face as she could before the Hippowdon suddenly kicked up a sandstorm.

Despite not wanting to, Amelia followed Dawkin so that they would be out of the way.
