Okay, i am going to try and say this in the nicest, least condescending way possible. Just note, I am not trying to cause offence. I don't think you have ability to take part in a Advanced RP. I don't say this lightly. I have spent the best part of day mulling this over in my head and it is the only conclusion I can draw. Your character just seems... flat, two-dimensional, there is nothing there that just grabs me like it does with other peoples characters.

I do have other concerns. Usually when i look at potential RPers i go through and look at their previous posts, chat through discord or PMs about their character. We work out the kinks in the character and we talk a little bit about their development. I don't get that from you. It makes me think you aren't invested in your own character, maybe a creative spark just isn't there. Every other application has come along with a barrage of messages and PMs about ideas and history and lore, and it is nothing short of amazing the level of commitment these people have. Letting you in on this character sheet, sorta feels like I am letting everyone else down.

I haven't even gotten the main point, which is I have high expectations of the second-in-command characters. They are just as important as the Leaders, and a integral part of the story. So i a lot stricter with my requirements for those positions. I also personally don't think you could write at the level required for a advanced RP. I don't have any evidence to suggest you do. Even when I went through all of your posts, I couldn't actually find a IC post. And you have been here for over 1500 days. You made 55 posts in 1500 days. To me, that spells flight risk. And that is a risk i am unwilling to take.

And you're basing this off my characters history? Lol and you won't find a lot here on my role-playing because I've been around since the old RP Guild. You know, before all of us original guild members lost every bit of work we ever had lol so pardon me for not having that same level of dedication coming back into the guild when Mahz brought it back.

Magical Abilities:

Magic Nullification- David has the ability to nullify all types of magic of any kind, shape, or origin within a twenty meter radius. This is not something he can actively control at the current time, but rather, happens passively. However, the magi he can nullify with his abilities is limited by the magi's power in question. That is to say, their rank. At his current standings, being a recruit, he can fully nullify the magical abilities of anyone who is a member or a recruit. Lieutenant and up, that amount decreases. Lieutenants he can nullify by fifty percent of their power. Captains, 25%. Second in Commands, 10%, and Leaders only can be decreased by 5% of their full power.

Personality: To say David dislikes interacting with others in The Guild is an understatement, in the very least. He is very quiet and doesn't bring attention to himself. Not so much in timidity, but more-so out of apathy. He tends to carry this same air of apathy and laziness wherever he goes, preferring to, when he's not working for The Guild, keep to himself. He often enjoys watching TV, reading books he can get a hold of, and just more solitary hobbies.

When he -is- doing work for The Guild, he does take his job somewhat more seriously, albeit, not enough to keep himself from looking like he lacks a lot of energy in general. He will converse, but only in situations where he has to. When he isn't being apathetic, one could consider his dominant emotion a passive aggression against anyone in the guild, save for perhaps one or two individuals. But overall, he tends to be quiet and do what is necessary, but that is about it.

History/Bio: David's biological parents are an unknown factor. He never met them or knew them long to be cognitive presences on any sort of level. Either way, whether they were poor magi or incapable of taking care of him anymore, they left him behind in an orphanage, where he was taken care of for some time. At that point, he was adopted by a pair of newly weds who, because of his strange birth mark and their own religious beliefs, took him into their home, giving him his last name. He grew up normally in a town near NYC called Phoenicia, where he enjoyed a childhood full of curiosity, learning, and strong bonds with his parents. To say the least, he was very, very happy.

But unfortunately for him, this all changed. Not long after his thirteenth birthday, he was approached by a group who introduced themselves as Magi, revealing to him the nature of his mark. That he was a magi, and he was not to reveal any of this to anyone. They weren't that kind or caring, either. These were brash folk, who had no time to spare for a child's feelings, instead choosing to intimidate and warn him that there would be consequences if he told anyone, especially his parents. But the young man, despite growing into adolescence, was still a child. Was he to keep quiet about this? He certainly wouldn't. Fearful of these strangers, he soon told his parents about this, and they comforted him, saying they wouldn't let anything bad happen to him.

Oh how wrong they were. The next day after coming home from school, David saw no proof of his parents being around upon arriving at his home. Indeed, upon making his way inside their house, he found only the mysterious strangers. He knew that something bad had happened, or worse. They told him to gather what he wanted. It would be the last he would see of his home. It was the last time he would remember what it was like to have a real family.

At that moment, he became their property, the property of the Guild in question. He was given an apartment, proper amenities and the like, but was completely under their control. He was alone, and couldn't tell anyone. And he didn't dare to. He knew what would happen if he did. Still, as he grew older, there were a few times he did try, only to be brought back swiftly, and punished for his actions harshly. After a time, he grew more and more complacent in his position, accepting what was his reality. However, he did manage to keep a few things from his home. Some books which he read regularly, a scarf that belonged to his mother which he keeps in his apartment, and the family's Bible, which he also read regularly. If only a dream, a memory of his past, reading this was one of the few things that reminded him of the warm feelings of home, even as he himself grew more cold to the world around him.

When he turned fifteen, he was enlisted to be a recruit as was mandatory for his current custody by the Guild. As such, after some time and finally discerning the powers he had, he was placed as a guard of the Second-In-Command, Aliira Van Drauga. Watching her leadership and determination was certainly something else, but, at least in the beginning, he chose to be cold to her and distant, despite following her orders. In time, however, he did begin to warm up to her slightly, seeing her as likely the only person he could begin to trust in this Guild. So much was taken from him...and yet, even now, there was a little light of hope. As the years have gone on, he has finally gotten used to his position and the daily grind. And despite his awareness of the Guild's foe, the Dark Shadow, he has very little care for it all. He only wishes to be free, instead of being stuck in a prison he knows he has no escape from. And if he cannot escape, he only wishes to enjoy the time he has.

Magical Abilities : In simple terms, portals. In a few more words, Jacob can literally bend reality in order to close the distance between two locations. The stability and accuracy of these portals depend greatly upon Jacob's wellbeing, and any use of these portals is taxing on him.

Gateways- The more traditional portal, Gateways have several requirements. For a location to be come a permanent gateway location Jacob must set up an Anchor. Anchors are magic sigils that allow Jacob to properly lock onto a desired location without having to have visual contact. Anchored gateways preserve energy, allowing Jacob to transport more people in one go and nearly eliminate the energy over distance requirement for unanchoreed gateways. Jacob can only have four Anchors active at any time, and Anchors can be easily destroyed, Jacob is notified if one is destroyed.

Blink- A short range movment spell derived from Gateway. Unable to move a target farther than a few feet, Blink has trouble moving anyone other than Jacob, and impossible for those not in physical contact with him. Like Gateway, the number and size of occupants as well as repeated use is extremely tiring. Unlike gateway, Blink is instant and can move Jacob beyond thin walls with or without eye contact.

Personality:Jacob tends to be the last person to give up and the first to leap into danger to save a freind, though that may be due simply to how long it takes for him to trust people. Those who Jacob trusts can count on a quick getaway in any situation. Jacob's trust however, can harm him as well. Unfortunately he tends to be a bit blind, always seeing the best in his friends even if that good part does not exist. In this way, he has been tricked by the suave and manipulative before.

In the end, Jacob is still a kid. He yearns for a family and yet his previous experience with people have all gone sour. He retains a sense of childlike wonder that only adds to how difficult it is for people to take him seriously.

History/Bio:Born to a Japanese woman and an American man, Jacob was quickly given up for adoption by his teenaged mother. Moving from home to home Jacob eventually found himself living with the Hare family, A group of wealthy Texans running a string of BBQ restaurants worldwide. Through the Hare family Jacob found a place to call home, this was not to last however.

It was soon after the beatings started that Jacob developed his powers, and also when the strangers arrived. They called themselves Magi, and as unsure as Jacob was he immediately went with them, anything to get away. This was how Jacob joined the guild.

He spent his time honing his powers by transporting various guild members to various locations, mainly the new Anchors turned safehouses for guild members on the outside. Jacob enjoys the guild, but hates hiding away from the world, he yearns for a chance to be outside without having to worry about people learning about him and flipping out.

@Draku69 Okay, after speaking with everyone else in the RP and Haley in some detail, I don't really know what we can do to help. There really is two issues here. Firstly is the actual character sheet, and secondly, your attitude.

Let me start with the second one. Your attitude stinks. After my first post regarding your character, you started to get funny, and then jumped over to PMs after I did respond in your 'timely' fashion. Here is the thing: you don't need my permission, as you put it, to jump into my PMs. Every other RPsr in this RP has just outright messaged me. As a GM I shouldn't have to grant permission for people to message me, If you are serious about your character, you would message me anyway, like everyone else did.

I have noticed you have conveniently deleted/replaced the character sheet that you posted, so I am having to refrence from memory here. But here is my issue with the first point in my opening paragraph. Your character isn't thought out. I don't say this lightly. I believe nearly everyone on this site puts a lot of thought into their character, even if the sheet comes out light. If you look at some of the sheets I accepted, there isn't much history or personality. But during discord chats and PMs they have convinced me they know their character. That's what I am looking for.

You however, come across as lazy. I started digging around all your old posts to find any evidence of advanced writing. During that time I found this thread:

And I became very angry. You see, I discovered that you hadn't really put much thought into. Your character at all. You have three characters on that sheet. Two of them have the name Draku. You couldn't even be bothered to try and come up with a name, and a quick Google would give you loads of random name generators.

Then I began to read these sheets in more detail. On these sheets, one of them happens to be an elementalist... The same power that Draku has for this sheet... Then you mentioned that you did know how we felt about dragon magic... Which happens to be the overarching theme of Al your characters. I am just going to be blunt. You have no originality. You make Characters for RPs, you don't carbon copy them and try to fit them in. Recycling concepts is ok, you take something that worked before change its dynamic to suit the scene and hey presto. But you, no, you are just lazy. I don't know if it is just because you can't think of other characters, but if you tried that bullshit at any other Advanced RP... I opened the GM would do the same thing I am doing and showing you the door. You are not a advanced RPer, no matter what you tell me.

In short, the only way your character is going to be accepted, is if you trash everything you have so far and try and give me something original that isn't from a old character sheet of yours. But I don't think you can do that, I can't be bothered wasting more energy on you when I have my other RPers to think about. I am sorry. So this time it is a no. Go do some casual and free RPs and once you got a handle on character Development, come back and try again.
