The GM has graciously given me free reign to RP as the Princess. Here's her character sheet.
Appearance:
Name: Lisianthus von Zauberheim - Scion of Blessed Lightning
Race: Human
Blessed Lightning As heir to the Royal Throne and the first daughter of the Zauberheim household, Lisia has inherited the family's sacred lightning. It combines some aspects of both holy and lightning magic, being able to purify curses and provide blessings for allies. It also gives all unfortunate enough to come into contact with it a nasty shock.
Mjolnir's Blessing: Using her blade, Lisia is able to lift curses around her and buff her allies. Using this costs a decent amount of stamina, but the effects shouldn't be taken for granted. The spell also has healing properties
Reflect: The princess can generate a barrier than can repel weak magical attacks. Though it's hard for her to attack and defend at the same time.
Raging Thunder: Lisia calls forth thunderbolts from her hand or sword and channels it against her foes; she can either fire them directly at her opponent or call them down in the form of lightning pillars.
Flash Step: The princess places great pride in her speed, moving as quick as the lighting she calls forth. She often overwhelms her foes with high-speed movement. She begin to become sluggish if low on stamina, however.
Expert Fencer The Crown Princess has taken her fencing classes very seriously at Seraph Academy, as a result, she has been recognized as one of the best swordsman in her grade. She wields the blade Mjolnir, given to her by her father in order to assist with her lighting magic training.
Class Valedictorian Being the Seraph Academy Student Council president, Lisia's grades are second to none. Her studious nature and high aptitude for academics have earned her admiration from her peers and teachers alike. This also lends her an analytical and cautious mind during mock battles.
Personality: Lisianthus is a kind-hearted young lady who shows empathy toward all citizens of the realm. Having been groomed as the school's star pupil and as the future successor to the throne, she is serious, diplomatic, and poised to unbelievable extremes. Many of her fellow students look up to her as an inspiration, often looking to her for assistance with studies.
However, due to the staggering high expectations set on her by her family, mentors, and peers, she is often seen as a perfectionist and can be over-critical of herself when she doesn't receive the results she sets for herself. It is perhaps due to her view of her father, who she idolizes above all else, that lead to her perfectionist personality. Lisia is indeed terrified of not meeting her father's lofty expectations. This causes a certain duality to her psyche, the latter of which often creates distance between the princess and her fellow students; Lisianthus is often left with a sense of isolation and self-doubt.
She is also fiercely protective of her little brother, Lutz, the crown prince of the realm. She loves him deeply and often dotes on him whenever she has the chance.
Background: Lisianthus was born 18 years ago in the captial city of Razelia, her birth was met with divine celebration as the first born child of King Reinhardt and Queen Brunhilde. From a young age Lisia was raised and educated to be the best of the best, so as to be a worthy heir to the throne of Zauberheim.
During her time at the academy, her accomplishments were met with praise and pride. She aced all tests with flying colors and showed a high aptitude for the magical arts. Having now come of age, she wishes to participate in this year's tournament in order to gain recognition from her father.
The princess was hard at work helping with preparations for the Grand Festival and tournament. She received help from some of her fellow student council members as they raised banners and hung festive decorations around the premises.
"Hey Lisia, have you registered for the tournament yet? I know you've been meaning to enter since the start of this school year, right?" Said one of Lisia's council members, a young Elf girl with long brunette hair.
"Of course I have, Matilda! Students with higher standing have the privilege of being able to register before others." Replied the princess, just finishing hanging another decoration on one of the pillars.
"Just making sure. You know, I hear this year a bunch of outside competitors are being hired on to fight against us students. I hear some of them are quite strong AND that some of them may even be in the city right now!" Said Matilda, trying to get a rise out of the royal heir.
"Yes, I am aware. It's not as though it'd be the first time the officials have done this. It's a way to truly test our skills and studies. Plus it's a good way for us to gain experience fighting opponents from an outside setting." Said Lisia, as she hopped off the ladder she was using to hang ornaments. "OK! Now that we've completed this task, we should start preparing for the tournament. It's going to start not too long from now."
"As meticulous and methodical as ever I see!" The two girls turn to see the Head Master of the academy, Zephiel Kruger.
"Oh Head Master Kruger, I thought you'd still be busy doing paperwork and making preparations of your own! What brings you here?" The princess was taken aback for a moment not expecting to run into the school lead authoritative figure.
"Oh just thought I'd check up on our school's brightest pupil is all." Kruger looks around at all of the ornaments and streamers lining the school walls. "My, you've been busy haven't you?" Kruger's gaze suggested he was quite impressed with the students' work.
"It's nothing, really. We were just about to go make preparations for the tournament, having already registered." Said Lisia in a respectful tone. "We really must be going! Please excuse us!" With a respectful bow, the two girls made their way to the Seraph courtyards.
"I'm sure you'll do fine at the tournament! Make your parents proud!" Exclaimed the Head Master.
"That was kind of abrupt wasn't it?" Matilda looked at the student council president with a curious stare.
"I...thought it'd be for the best just to move along to our preparations. Between you and me, having the Head Master dote on you constantly gets pretty aggravating at times.
Ooooh, a fellow lightning/blade user! Well then, I suppose Kazudain will have to truly test her skills and see just how far her training has come. Maybe the powers that be will allow them to face one another? As well as face off against a certain Ice user?
Sorry about the slow reply, been up to my neck in the last week with finishing off college work and my new job. Shouldn't be much of an issue again because I'm finishing college for the holidays in the next few weeks.
I've got one more character to add in. He'll be an official who helps oversee various areas of the city.
Name: Tibrus Heatherman - The Architect (Tih-Bruss Hee-ther-men)
Race: Human
{I'll find an image at some point} Looks wise he is rather plain, short and messy black hair that now sports greys beside his temples. Round brown eyes on a slightly angular face, he stands at 5'7" and moderately fit with a slight pudge at the midriff.
Doctorate of Magical Theory
Despite having no talent for most magics, light or dark, Tibrus has a keen intuition in learning the theories behind various magics. Alchemy, conjuring, teleportation, curses, blessings, the Architects mind is a veritable library of knowledge collected and studied through the decades. He has helped manage and improve upon the design of the Kingdoms magical defenses just as his forebears did.
Master Potion Maker
With his near encyclopedic level of knowledge and intuition Tibris can make potions of quality few aside from Elf Masters and certain long lived Beast-kin. His intuition helps Tibris find the most ideal ingredient levels and brewing conditions. He reset the bar on what most could achieve with potions, his testing methods now standard in potion examinations at the Academy. These methods and his attention to detail aided investigations to root out potion charlatans that had been plaguing Zauberheim years prior. This focus on potions, however, along with Alchemy stem from discovering at a young age that he could not perform even the basics of any other form of magic. He holds Potion master classes alongside Alchemy at the Academy and leads the testing panel for final examinations.
Master Alchemist
Aside from mixing potions Tibrus is a very accomplished Alchemist, again his ability to seek out the most optimal ingredient quantities and attention to detail aiding him greatly. One of his known feats was in creating a new steel composite for use in reinforcing the masonry in the Citadel and many different structures in the city today. Tibrus holds a great love and respect for Alchemy and its rules as it's the only kind of magic he can truly perform. He holds Alchemy master classes alongside Potion-making at the Academy and leads the testing panel for final examinations.
Even as a follower of Amalya, he harbors no ill for those that follow Aylama, whether they be Beastkin, Elf or man. Cares for the kingdom and her peoples regardless of affiliation. Is usually a serious individual but will crack a small smile from time to time, whether it be a joke he finds funny or whenever he hears the sound of children laughing as they play.
Head Architect of the kingdom of Zauberheim. Late 30's, married to human wife with 1 daughter and son. Descendant of the original Architect that designed the Kingdom's Castle and basic layout of the city 500 years ago. Both his children are being apprenticed to be Architects, the pair having developed a new roof shingle design that is now utilized by the entire kingdom.
Tibrus is a well known and respected man by the people, having been the descendant to finish the fighter's arena of the Academy before turning 20. He is not however, as respected as some of the older families of the kingdom outside the royal family. Regardless, his voice does hold some sway with the Nobles of the Kingdom and is seen as a trusted friend of the Royal Family.
Highly intelligent, Tibrus is part of Zauberheim's magical research division. Though holding no talent for magic, his theoretical knowledge is surprisingly extensive, giving advice to many a young pupil of magic when they hit a wall, be they Beastkin, Elf or human.
Aside from being a Professor at the Academy Tibrus also overseas most construction projects in the kingdom. With the level of expertise from his apprentices however, Tibrus can trust them with many of the smaller projects allowing Tibrus to place more focus on teaching at the Academy and leading the examination Panel.
With a slam a tome was closed shut. It was soon placed back on the shelf where it belonged with the others. Tired eyes were rubbed from the long reading session.
"Log 45, note 3. The runes in here will help the Magic Defense corp with maintaining the barriers but-" a scroll was picked up. "-I've yet to find answers in the archives to help with recycling used mana." More tomes were returned to their proper place on the shelves.
A door opened, allowing more light into the room. A young man entered, slightly out of breath while holding a small stack of papers close. His breathing returned to normal when he spotted the one cleaning the reading space.
"Ah, Mr Heatherman! I was told you'd be here. Lady Marita believes she's made a breakthrough with the notes and suggestions you supplied. She said she'd be grateful if you could look it over and see if her logic is sound." The man turned, spotting the younger man in the robes of the Magic Research Corp.
"Does she now? Well, we'll just have to see. Hand the papers over boy, quickly now." The young mage jumped at the older mans tone, readily passing the papers over. Heatherman quickly began looking through the woman's notes, not making a sound. The young mages round ears twitched at the flicker of magic power candles and the rustling of papers.
"Marita does have a good start, though there are some things I'll need to discus with her about her theories on barrier convergence and array harmonization. I'll soon head to her office once I'm finished here. You go on ahead and let her know I'll be there soon, alright my boy?" The mage straightened.
"Of course, Mr. Heatherman, sir! I'll be right on it." With a deep breath and slam of his small paws together the young beast-kin mage created a magic circle beneath his feet and soon, disappeared in a flash of light. With a shake of his head the older man quickly set about finishing his own task before heading out. Marita may have been young by most elf standards but she held a good head on her shoulders, tended to be forgetful though when she got excited over something.
No matter, he'd discuss it with her while having a good cup of tea in her office.
@PaulHaynek - Ah, thank you. I had been mistaken in assuming the registrations were solely in the north courtyard. Your iteration of events does skip over that mistake of mine nicely.
@PaulHaynek I'm thinking about it though I feel that it would be more interesting for him not to have powers. It's why it makes his knowledge and analytical ability so significant. Maybe leans towards alchemy or potion making, which may not require any mana use.
Let's initiate him now. I'll add that he's a master potion maker and Alchemist but beyond that has no ability.
*scratches chin* wait, Alchemy and potion making isn't a proper magical ability? I was planning on making an OC entirely dedicated to those skills. ._. well, planning and pondering... quite hesitant on joining since I'm afraid of not being able to post regularly.
You still can. From how I understand it, direct and indirect magic in this RP refer to whether a school of magic actively uses mana to perform the action/spell. Most are direct like blessings and curses and illusions, while those that don't require mana for techniques like potion making would be an indirect magic.
I'm a bit worried so I want to ask if you have problems with my sheet so far.
Still haven't written her personality yet... And I Plan to make a list of the relevant items she uses. (Examples being, floating remote controlled blood-bound swords and shields, as well as floating cannons that are connected to her item space bag so that work as bomb dispensers/shooters.)
Appearance:
Name: Haine Baskerville
Race: Human
Magic/Abilities:
Alchemist- Skills to make a great variety of potions, bombs, poison and ingredients. She mainly produces elemental bombs, health and mana potions for profit and self use. She also uses this skill to produce the materials needed to make her precious artifacts. She can only produce these items with a cauldron on a burning furnace in a workshop. She can produce with a portable cauldron on the field but it takes longer as she is less efficient.
Alchemical Artificer- Haine's main specialty is making magical items with special properties, such as the weapon systems that she had developed for personal combat, As well as her Golems and her utility equipment.
Smallflame - A basic spell that produces a small amount of flame, enough to start a campfire.
Lumilight - A basic channeling spell that produces a magical candlelight at the tip of one's finger.
Personality: Haine
Background: Haine was born in a rather simple but relatively well-off family of merchants in one of the Razelia's developing towns. As a child, she gained a healthy curiosity on the various interesting trinkets and magical items that her family routinely buys and sells. After meeting an alchemist that is associated with her father, that curiosity became an obsession. After promptly persuading her father to persuade said alchemist into taking her in as an apprentice, Haine began developing her profession in an early age of seven. Her obsession was fortunately diligently cautious in its nature and only bordered on the unhealthy. Thanks to this, her development was rapid in its pace and made her acquaintances consider her as a bit of a promising prodigy.
