UserName- Nightingale
Alias- ‘The dark elf’ or ‘Miyako’
Age- 20
Reputation- Nightingale is a well known username among the game’s community, but so is the name Miyako. To put it simply, she won an irl event that led to her being awarded a unique race, that no other player used, and it got her some fame, but then she continued to tackle dungeons, whether she was in a party or solo people were astounded with her dedication to the game, and her achievements within it.
Guild- Miyako has received invitations to many guilds, including the top ones, however, she continues to deny, she has been seen frequently in a small party with the same people, but never having been in a guild.
Race- Miyako’s avatar is of a unique race, called ‘Arcane Elf’, though most people refer to her as either ‘the marked elf’ or ‘the dark elf’. Her racial skills give her boosts in magic skills.
Class- Mage Knight
Equipment- Midnight Barrier; What seems like an ordinary bracelet is actually a magic shield, projecting out from the gemstone on the center. Magical attacks blocked by this shield are absorbed, restoring mana equivalent to the damage they would normally deal. Acts as a normal shield towards physical attacks.
Mystic Needle; A one handed sword, that lowers the mana cost of spells casted.
Medium Armor; Neither heavy, nor light. Provides moderate protection. Has vanity spells placed on it, to make it appear more like casual clothing.
Skills- Cooking; In the real world, she never had a chance to really learn anything related to this, so when she noticed she could learn it in the game, she made it one of her goals.
Lockpicking; Never know when you might find a treasure chest out in the field, so this seemed like a very good skill to have. Since learning it she has picked a total of three chests, and 20 mimics, she’s not so good at telling the differences.
Runic knowledge; The ability to read runic seemed interesting, the ability to write it also seemed interesting. She has since learned that reading random ancient notes tend to be boring, and simply uses it to send encrypted messages to friends.
Job- If she’s not out adventuring, she has a side job of working at Central City’s tavern as a barmaid.
Personality- The first thing you should know about Miyako is her fuse is pretty short. She’s not bound to get upset over stupid things, but if you cross the line she’s going to let you know. Though, she’s not an inherently violent person, she didn’t start playing the game for the fighting, which is why she took the priest class at first. While she can put up a fight, she much prefers to work things out with words and kindness if possible.
She’s all for helping others, and doesn’t tend to judge others based on appearances, or even by their history. Instead, she prefers to judge people based on how they act while she knows them. She full heartedly believes people can change, and so long as they don’t break the trust she puts in them, she won’t harbor any judgemental feelings.
Positive Traits- Kind; As stated above, she isn’t the type to judge others. She’s going to be nice, so long as you treat her the same. She treats people with respect, until they do something to lose it.
Cheerful; Miyako’s not really into the whole ‘gloomy outlook’ thing. Having lived most her life in a hospital room, the nurses often taught her that she had to keep a positive outlook, because being negative would only make the situation more unbearable.
Empathetic; Miyako might not have been around a lot of people, but she was pretty much raised in a hospital. When you see so much pain and suffering, you learn to be empathize with other people. She can understand where people are coming from, because of how she grew up.
Negative Traits-Short Fused; It doesn’t take much to get under her skin. She’s always been this way, and while she tries to control her anger, it doesn’t always work.
Submissive; Despite having a short temper, Miyako doesn’t like being in control. She’s never had much control over her life, and very rarely wants anything to go her way, preferring to follow someone else.
Transparent; Miyako can’t lie, because when she does, it’s blatantly obvious. On top of that, she wears her emotions on her sleeve. If she’s irritated, she’ll show it. If she’s happy, it’ll show. Because of this, she’s very awful at acting, and anything related.
History- Miyako was born a sickly child, and spent most her life in the hospital. When she was ten her doctors said it would be a miracle if she lived for another year. So her parents decided that if the hospital wasn’t actually going to do any good, they were going to at least give her a normal childhood, or at least as normal of one as they could. The following year they went to amusement parks, took a paris vacation, and just spent time together.
At the end of the year, she seemed to be getting better. Her parents were excited, and they decided to celebrate they were going to a movie that was just being released. However, they didn’t get through the movie, as her condition worsened, and she had to be rushed to the hospital again. She survived the ordeal, the doctors said it was a miracle, but she couldn’t leave the hospital any more after that. So her parents decided if they couldn’t bring her out into the real world, they would get her a fantasy world to distract her. They bought her a top of the line computer, and whatever games she wanted.
Over the years, she became known in the gaming community as Nightingale. She wasn’t too well known, simply known by the people who participated in the same gaming forums as she did. This is where she learned of the game everyone had been playing for years. She had heard it’s name before, but also knew it had a strict age limit enforced by the admins, so she avoided it.
As soon as she was old enough, she started playing as the priest class. She wasn’t too great at it, and spent most of her time in the town, simply doing the basic jobs. She became a known member of the town, and some people even mistook her for an NPC at times since she never left the town. Two months into her gaming experience, the developers started one of their real life events. One of their locations was only two towns away from where she was located.
One of the nurses learned this, and managed to get permission for her to go, though she had to bring a doctor and some medical equipment. People said there was no way she would win. She was too sickly, and probably wouldn’t even come close. Though, she did her best, and everyone saw her dedication, and many changed from saying she wouldn’t win, to cheering her on. It wasn’t anything complex, just an on the spot cosplay. The developers provided materials, and those participating had to make the best cosplay they could from what was given.
It was during this event that she really became known by the gaming community, more specifically the Estaria community. Not because she won, but because she tried so hard despite being sickly, and everyone said she shouldn’t even try at first. Of course, winning did help quite a bit. Though, she was pleasantly surprised at the reward, as she hadn’t bothered to see what it was, assuming she wouldn’t win.
From there, she changed her class to Mage Knight, and people had started inviting her to their guilds, and even to join raid parties. So, she started venturing out with people. Actually enjoying the game to it’s fullest. She went on to even raid bosses solo. She had grown quite famous in the community, and many people kept their eyes on her. Though, when she vanished for a month unexpectedly, the forums went crazy with theories that she had passed, and there was even a petition to make her character an npc if it were true. Many people called the hospital she was staying at, and while most of them were turned away, a few of her closer friends that she frequently partied with in the game found out her condition had just worsened, but she was still alive.
When she returned to the game, she was met with a welcome back party. After the small player set up event, she went out to one of the new dungeons they added while she was gone solo, and returned with some of the legendary gear you got for beating it. She sold most of the gear, but kept the weapon she found.
When the expansion was announced, her parents wasted no time in getting it for her, pre-ordering it as soon as it was available. She wasn’t planning on doing much when it happened, her goal was simply to pop on and investigate the new additions in the central city. Though, that plan was thrown out the window when she blacked out, waking up moment’s later in the game.
