Hobgoblin Luz

@ReusableSword@Crusader Lord@Wildman13@Jangel13

Try not to let me die.”

Luz simply remarked with "Aye Aye Leader!" She said in a cheerful tone before following him with a sword in hand. As the group walked Luz elbowed Nyma as they walked and whisper to her. "Hey, you can see the glows inside of us two right?" She asked her trying to confirm her theory that the bracelet is why she was seeing colored glows inside living things. "Thought so! this glow apparently means something is alive." She informed her. Matter fact recalls seeing the spider's aura through the leaves covering its body; meaning she can see one aura through solid objects making Luz and Nyma the perfect spotter for the job. "Try looking for one of those glows in the distances?" She told her before turning her attention back to the trip.

As the group moved past the annoying webs in their path Luz then sees a bunch of glows in the distance along with one big one in the middle. She then ran up close to Gird, trapped him on the shoulder, and point in the glows direction. "Over there!" She told him before taking the lead and leading the group to the giant spider along in question. As the group got closer Luz got a close look at the children crawling around their mother den, her instincts tell her to steer clear of them for they are apparently dangerous to come in contact with. Thankfully the small spider seems to not want a fight at the moment(Maybe).

As Gird get ready to plunk the strand of web leading to the spider, Luz then turned two the group and whispered to them. "Don't go dying on us now." She whispered to the two goblins kind of cheerfully as she takes the spear of her back ready to fight She then nobbed at Grid letting him know she was ready.

Nyma

Day 5: Morning

Nyma somewhat imitated Barth's strategy by making some web to put on her feet, though kept her spear ready and close to her as the foursome traveled deeper into the webbed-up woods. Tiny spiders, whose coloration left the female Goblin wary of them and their poison, seemed to skitter about as the group avoided their movements. Though what was more interesting was when they finally came down the path to the big target. The female spider, she assumed, who was the mother to all of these smaller one around them. Or perhaps, one of the mothers of them anyways. Though the large hobgoblin seemed to be willing to be the bait for this encounter this time around, and asked them to not let him die if possible, Nyma felt that using one of their larger brethren as bait could go either very well or to their detriment. Especially if these baby spiders acted instead of the mother potentially.

But a plan was a plan, and whilst she got a feeling the female hobgoblin wasn't all pleased with the arrangement of Gird's group strategy, Nyma felt that it wasn't the worst plan. Plus the bit of conversation Lux made with her along the way confirmed that Lux and herself could see this stuff and detect ahead of time as such. Very useful. However, there were more important things to do right now too now that they were here. So the female Goblin moved around the side, giving Gird some space but avoiding getting caught up in webs, all to get in a position where she could move in an attack from the side once Gird hopefully drew the adult female spider's attention. She held her spear at the ready, getting into her defensive/offensive pouncing position once more as she imitated the movements of the male spider from before again.

"I'm ready," she whispered back to Gird and the others quietly, carefully seeking to avoid disturbing the spiders and springing things early.

Though with Barth's behavior from before, she wouldn't be surprised if the lucky little Goblin managed to trip onto the web Gird was near and turn himself into spider bait. That or attempt to piledrive the thing from a tree....again.

The spider that laid there for her children was suddenly on high alert when she felt the web being strained as if they caught prey. However, unlike the male counterpart, it simply laid against the web staring at the spot where the prey supposedly got caught. Instead of the mother striking they heard a series of clicking coming from the mother and a swarm of spiderlings started to go towards Gird ready to poison and paralyze their prey so they could then be delivered safely to their mother. It seemed that if they wanted to fight mommy they needed to get much closer, dangerously so...

@Darked13

The child simply huffed watching as the goblin left. The skull that he was using slowly started to turn black the more energy he drew from it but his speed was increased dramatically nearly reaching the speed of an Olympic runner as he went south. As he kept running after a good 10 minutes he saw a field of flowers around him with different colors. The flower he wanted, however, was in a clearing or what would have been a clearing had it not been completely covered in poisonous thorns. He could tell they were poisonous because if he looked close enough he would notice the thorns were dripping with a strange liquid. "If you truly trust my guidance simply walk" Shirila said to him. Essentially telling him to do a trial by fire and trust in his faith in her to see him through.

@Haeo

The goblin kept walking and was soon set upon finding a small stream in the distance with rocks and pebbles lining the shoreline. It would not be easy sneaking up on anything there and in fact, he saw a horned rabbit taking a drink from the small stream distracted. He wouldn't be able to sneak up on the rabbit without being very slow and vulnerable. Would the goblin risk stealth and slowly approach or will it try to use a quick burst of speed to get to its prey?

@Duthguy

The creature didn't sense the goblins approach because of it's horrible eyesight. However, it's sense of smell was spot on and as a result, as the goblin got close enough it quickly unfurled its wings from its armored back and flew up but not in time as it was stricken however thanks to its quick action it was only a small wound. A series of clicking threatening tones came out as it put its body against the tree in an attempt to hide its weaknesses.

@Heyitsjiwon

Grandpa smirked a bit as he said that he needed the beauty rest. When he asked for some wisdom he said "Use that head of yours to solve your problems and don't die on me. So far most of your brothers and sisters are at a church as our new home. I am just waiting for everyone to get there" he explained letting him know to find the church so he could follow after.

Goblin Oleg, Day 5

@Jangel13

With that piece of advice, Oleg replied "You've got it gramps. Guess I'll see you there later tonight. Gonna go find me some grub." With that, Oleg set off to one, make a crude weapon and then two to find something to hunt. He was going make a simple, crude, but effective stone axe. It seemed pretty simple and straightforward. It would take some time though, but being prepared and ready for a fight was probably a better option. That said, it would really depend on what he found on his search for a proper, pointy rock. He might have to improvise and make something else.

Video on making a primitive axe.

Hobgoblin Gird
8 Legged Freaks >>>> I hope this works /// Day 5 // Morning

Gird was taken slightly back when the spiders began to swarm. For a moment he didn’t move, even as the swarm drew closer. He was thinking, what strategy to go with. Obviously if he killed enough of these spider lings the big one should come out. But he was sure he would be bitten before he got close enough. They could run but this was a test after all, one spider, one big spider could prove invaluable to their skill set. So what to do, but draw them off.

Stepping back toward Barth and slowly away from the spiders he kept strumming the webs just enough to keep their attention before moving again. “Luz ill draw these off. Wait for them to pass and take the other two to the right and engage the Spider. Once I draw these far enough away, I'll rush back to assist then we can deal with these at our own pace.” A simple order and plan, he was also basically giving her command while he dealt with these spiders.

Strumming the webs in a frantic manner from place to place. Gird hoped this would mimic what they would think was an injured bird or rabbit. Something that was struggling to get free and constantly got stuck while running away from the swarm. The pale hobgoblin was also being wary and careful not to end up in the webs himself as well as not wanting to get surrounded. He would continue to kite them around and away from the mother until he was at a good distance before returning and helping the others.

Hogoblin Zats

After he got his first hit in, even if it was not as good as he had hoped Zats started thinking the fight might be easier than he expected. His opinion quickly changed when the beetle took of and landed on a tree. He had to admit that the insect wasn't stupid, cause it probably took the best course of action possible. If it had remained in flight, it might have had more maneuverability but it would also leave it's underbelly open.

From a safe distance he wondered what to do. He could try and start a fire to smoke it out, but with no known source of water that was too dangerous and besides the beetle might simply take off. Downing the tree and letting it crush the insect wasn't feasible with just him and if it was it might destroy the ex-skeleton he wanted to bring home. Eventually he settled on the course of action he could think of. With his shield up and spear out Zats charged at the tree. He was hoping that he would be able to hit one of the openings between the segments that made up the beetle's armor and do some damage that way.

Hobgoblin Luz

@ReusableSword@Jangel13@Kheliop@Crusader Lord

Luz took a stance where she held her makeshift spear over her left shoulder like she was going to throw a harpoon. Waiting for the Giant spider to run closer to the group...only the Spider didn't seem to move from it spot instead luz saw a bunch of Small auras move in there direction. "Uhh...i don't thing that spider is the type that would put itself on the frontlines before it underling cause it seems it children is coming" Luz point out calmly.

Gird the made a plan to have himself draw the smaller spider away. "You are you sure?" Luz asked him sounding worried. She wanted to protest but she didn't have time cause Gird had to act fast in order for his plan to work. Luz then sigh before saying "Damn it" Under her breath. Luz then suckin her breath before saying "Hide!" quietly before waiting for the younger spider to leave before signaling what is left of the follow her as she moves the group to flank the spider from sightly it right hand side.

Once the group was in a good position Luz the squated down and signal the two goblin to come close. "Here the plan, i'm going to draw the spider's attance from the front with my sword,meanwhile i want you guys to try and sneak up on the spider and attack it from the sides with your spears ,afterword i need you guys to fight it from the side while i fight it from the front. Nyma we are going to trade spear with you for the duration of the battle so make go use of it. Before we begin but me and Nyma meed to make a prayer to Duvelna. That way we can get double exp for the kill. Any questions?" Luz inform them. Luz then held her hand together before making a pray in her mind.

"Dear Duvelna, first i want to take she time to thank you for considing me as a candidate of one of your followers as well as giving me a gift. To repay you i wish to sent you 100 soul starting with this formatable spider. Amen!" She prayed before trading spears with Nyma and moving in to engage the spider. With Nyma's spear in one hand and her sword in the other Luz then walk through the spider alone and called it out. "Hey 8 legs!"
She taught the queen spider with a spear point in it direction to try to get it to engage her so the other two can launch a sneak attack from it sides. But before they do she will try to avoid it's attacks as long as she can and avoid harming it so it wouldn't run off, if it looks like it was about attack she will attempt to threaten it with her spear to discourage it

Goblin Barth

Day Five: Morning

@Crusader Lord@Jangel13@demonspade64@ReusableSword

Once it became clear that their original position wasn’t going to call forth any additional spiders Barth had leapt down from the branch he had placed himself in and followed the others along their path. Despite the fact that some of his actions came out of nowhere and were clearly not planned out, Barth wasn’t a complete fool. He noticed while climbing that he was no longer creating vibrations with his movements. It was easy enough for him to realize that his plan of coating his hands and feet with his webbing was the cause of this, after all that was the only thing that had changed recently.

Since it appeared that the spiders relied primarily on the vibrations to figure out their positions, Barth decided to follow the group from a distance. He kept pace with them but remained a way off to their side. It gave him a position to flank from in the event they were confronted out of the blue, provided his theory was correct.

Eventually their traveling came to a close, at which point he moved back in to group back up with the other three. He still kept a little distance between them, but he was close enough that he’d be able to hear any pertinent information that needed to be exchanged. It became clear why they had stopped, as not too far ahead of them rested a spider much larger than the previous one. This one also wasn’t alone as the entire area was covered with tiny spiders.

He couldn’t help but admire Gird as the pale one took it upon himself to act as bait, the Hobgoblin had a lot of bravery. His plan vaguely reminded Barth of something he would do, though perhaps a bit more thought out. Unfortunately it seemed that Gird’s plan worked about as well as most of his did. That is only partially succeeding. It seemed to gather the attention of large spider, but rather than charge Gird by herself she sent out the spiderlings in her stead.

A new plan was quickly formulated, the first half by Gird who decided to once more be bait and led the young spiders away while the second was crafted by Luz. Not only was it practical, but it worked towards the strength of the three that remained. She was clearly stronger and faster than either Nyma or Barth and would have a better chance keeping the spider’s attention in a frontal assault.

Before they enacted their plan of attack Luz asked for a moment to send out a prayer to the Deity the other three shared. Barth took the time to do something similar, though as of yet his prayers were sent to an unknown Deity. ’Heya, it’s Barth again. Wanted to say thanks to whoever helped me out before and was hoping a little luck could happen again. I get it if you’re busy, or you want me to figure out who you are first, but I figured it wouldn’t hurt to ask. I’ll get back to ya after this scuffle of ours!

With Luz starting her portion of the plan Barth quickly moved to follow through on his end. He hoped that between the fact that he wouldn’t be sending out any vibrations due to his webbing coated feet and his uncanny luck he would be able to provide more assistance to his group than previously.

”Nyma I am going to strike from the right, so the left is all yours.” He took a moment to speak to his partner softly before moving off to whip around to the spider’s side. Once Luz got it’s attention he would slow his movements to limit the amount of sound he made to aid his approach. Once within reach he would strike out at the spider’s large abdomen with the spear Gird had returned to him, the Alpha Rabbit Horn had been returned to its place on his waist when he got the spear back.

Gina was still wandering about the lake now a few meters away from sight from the eggs that she found towards the north. She scouts out her surroundings seeing and spotting around some trees to her right that seems to have texture to it something that she could have worked with in the future.

So wanting to have materials in the future and a to see how powerful her axe is she readies herself lining up her shot and with a few breathing techniques she starts distancing her axe from where she wants to swing it into.

Tapping into the blessings of the goddess that gave her she started to swing, engraving her axe into the wood. Waiting to see how powerful she has gotten by seeing how far she has gotten into the trunk of the tree.

Summary

  • She decided to return back.
  • She found some prime trees beside the river.
  • Wanting to get materials she picked one of the trees.
  • She starts by chopping one of them with her axe

Nyma

Day 5: Morning

Nyma did not argue as Gird went about his plan of guiding the spiderlings away from the rest of them, though their presence in the first place had been suspicious when it came to the plan Gird seemed to have. At least, now, she knew their role when it came to the female spiders. Though the situation now only left three of them to face the mother spider, who sat upon her web as if waiting for her brood to bring back the prey that was Gird. How would she react to them, though? Would the spiderlings come back, would she take action herself? It seemed, according to Luz's plan, they would be banking on the latter, and that was perhaps their best bet at least.

However, trading her spear with Luz's for the battle as needed did seem like a smart idea, at least giving them the chance to fend back the mother spider if needed. Not that she was most comfortable having her useful weapon traded out of the blue, but at the same time they needed to survive. And she wanted to survive, and grow. She let Luz take her hand for their shared prayer to Duvelna, before skittering carefully back over to the left. She used the spider-like stance she had used before, ready to strike out as Luz's spear was held in front of her and ready to stab at a moment's notice.

Though internally, as Luz prodded the spider, Nyma said her own small prayer in her head.

'Oh Goddess, i give my thanks for thine answer to my prayer and for thine gift that i now wear. Let this hunt be true, that us here may slay this beast and dedicate its soul to thee. Should'st thou have any children whom i might also worship as well, all done in reverence to thine greatness from which they originate, then please let me know them that i might better glorify thee in this manner as well.'

It was a fervent prayer filled with sincerity, but to her made some sense as well. Should her goddess have children, those whose power spawned from her great might, then worshiping them next to her would be glorifying even more the goddess whom they originated from. She believed this in earnest, and hoped this could perhaps help her gain more understanding of this world as well when it came to divinities. After all, expanding her knowledge would only help when it came to....her end goal. But that goal was not for now or this time. That of which she was certain.

For now, she was ready, ready to attack, ready to pounce and stab at the head and heart of the beast before them.

Skrik the Goblin

Skrik had found it easy to find the stream after getting close enough to hear it. The usefulness of water made the sound encouraging but something about it was worrying as well. In fact, he was a little disappointed when he got in view. This was a babbling brook, shallow and moderately swift with a horned rabbit drinking from the bank. It should have been an ideal situation for a hunt with the prey distracted, the wind from the direction of the stream and the sound of flowing water to cover his approach. But, the pebbled bank extended more than ten strides from the water’s edge and was completely devoid of cover. The stones were smooth and dry, prone to rattling when disturbed, and yet some of them were quite shiny. He would take a closer look at the stones when he was done with the business at hand. For now, they would make stealth almost impossible.

In his first hunt, stealth had been his friend. Indeed, he felt that it had a place in this hunt as well. However, it had to play a lesser part this time. The horned rabbit’s head was down. It could see along the bank to either side of it but not directly behind or above itself. The open ground between the pebbled bank and the tree line had one small blessing over the forest floor. It lacked the carpet of leaves and twigs that had challenged his fledgling stealth skills before. It was a blanket of smooth grass that had been grazed smooth by beasts. He would have no problem approaching the bank quietly. However he would have to cross that last leg of the journey without disturbing his prey until he reached it.

There was only one way that he could think of. He would have to jump.

He began to slowly move over the grass, avoiding any noise that could be heard over the wind and stream. The horned rabbit wasn’t being very watchful. It seemed to be very thirsty and Skrik would count on that need slowing its reaction time. It would be a little reluctant to turn from its drink. After he closed to within a suitable distance and had a good feel for the grass underfoot he smoothly and quietly accelerated to a dash, reading the horned rabbit’s posture for clues as to how it would move when it detected him, and then he leaped. He led with his open hand, seeking to pin the rabbit against the ground by its neck or slash its legs if he missed, and kept his knife ready to strike a finishing blow with his other hand.

He knew that this kind of pounce had some risk involved. If he missed he could find himself splashing face first into the stream or the rocks. The worst case scenario could leave him with a broken neck or bleeding from an attack by the rabbit.

The young pale goblin was soon faced with a swarm of young spiders and it seemed his baiting plan was working however it also meant that if he didn't move quickly or find a way to lose them then he would turn into a feast. The webs around where he hits keep getting bitten by the spiders but most kept following the vibrations he was making trying to get the prey for their mother.

The other goblins were having a tougher time even though they closed in on the spider it hissed and threatened them. The goblin that attacked from the front was quickly attacked but not in the conventional sense as the mother spider moved its legs upwards and soon shot out a spray of webbing quickly pinning her to a nearby tree by her hand. If she didn't move she would be no help and end up being dinner. The other goblin that attacked from the side was quickly attacked as well but the queen lunged at the goblin trying to fend it off. It didn't notice the goblin under it however as it was quickly struck from below and a loud screech came as it jumped away blood pouring from below it. The screech, however, made the young spiders that were following the pale goblin run back to defend their mother. They needed to work fast or they would be outnumbered once again...

@Duthguy

As the goblin charged in the bettle used its horn and attacked back. It struck the goblin's shield with such force that if it weren't the shield by the goddess herself it would have broken in an instant. Even though it wasn't broken the shockwave from the impact still hurt him and he could notice a bruise forming on his arm that very moment. However, the strategy worked and the bettle was stuck trying to attack the shield and unable to move to protect it's armor openings...

@Haeo

The rabbit had been unaware of the goblin as it got closer and tried to strike it. The rabbit kept drinking needing the nourishment not noticing the goblin until it got close enough that the rabbit could smell it. The rabbit then turned around just in time to see the goblin jumping to close to it and as it tried to run it was able to dodge the goblin at the last moment and dashed across the water putting some distance between the goblin and itself but it looked ready to fight as if defending its much-needed water source.

@Wildman13@kuroku

The female goblin was about to head back until she felt tremors in the earth around her. She could feel the movement of the earth and it was clear that it came from something bigger than her. If she was curious about what it was she would soon walk through the woods near the river and see trolls.

These beasts stood at least 8 feet tall and were as large as they were stupid. They carried clubs with them and they had a large stick with them carrying a female goblin tied to said stick as if she were a hitchhiking bag. She was bound and gagged unable to move as the two trolls walked clearly intent on eating the young female.

Hobgoblin Ren
Aftermath /// Late Mourning>>> Early Afternoon // Day 5

@Jangel13
Watching the Alpha's final stand; the wolf pitifully growling as it's life slowly faded, nearly brought Ren to tears. To waste the knowledge aquired from killing such a magnificent creature would be disrespectful to the memory of It's life, but first, to ease his own conscience, Ren first needed to put an end to the suffering of the rest of the wolves.

Going around to each of the traps, his heart heavy with grief, Ren put the wolves out of their misery, one by one. However, the mighty Hobgoblin hesitated as he reached the final wolf.  This one was smaller than the others, clearly just barely old enough to hunt. The spear that it had run into drove shallowly into it's left shoulder, not deep enough to kill, but deep enough that the wolf would bleed out if something was not done.

As Ren approached, the young wolf let out what was a mixture of a whimper and a growl; clearly fearful for it's life as it snapped it jaws in defense.  A large, grey hand shot forward, grabbing the wolf's muzzle, clamping it tightly shut as it brought the wolf's eyes up to the Hobgoblin's own. "I am your Alpha now... Ren growled as he used  [Pack Leader], "Hold still". Slowly, he moved his hands to the the wound, holding it tightly shut as he carefully pulled the tip of the spear from the wolf's shoulder.  Dropping the bloodied spear on the ground, Ren clenched the wound with both of his hands until the bleeding finally stopped.

Knowing that such a solution would only be temporary, Ren knew he had to find some way to bind the wound shut.  Looking around, he noticed that a few of the surrounding trees had  papery, thin bark. Taking a sharp rock, he peeled several long pieces of bark from one of the trees before tearing each piece into multiple razor-thin strips.  Twisting several strips together and tying a large knot (proportion wise) on one end, Ren was able to create a primitive form of incredibly thin rope. Pulling a small rib from one of the nearby wolf corpses, the Hobgoblin used his sword to fashion the bone into a small soucher.

Now with the nessessary tools, Ren threaded the rope through the needle before tying it on. Sticking the needle through the wolf's skin, Ren threaded it side-to-side in a zig-zag pattern, pulling each stitch tight as he went along. Several minutes of meticulous work seemed to pay off, the stitches holding as the Hobgoblin finished his work; tying another large knot at the end and cutting off the excess rope.

Stepping back, Ren looked upon his handiwork with pride. Thanks to his quick thinking and creativity, this wolf would (hopefully) live. Tying the remainder of the rope as well as his needle around his wrist, Ren then began to gather up the wolf corpses. With all corpses in tow, and ready to leave, Ren lifted the wolf he saved; still weak from blood loss, onto his shoulders. Grabbing the rest of the Wolves by the scruff of their necks, and holding his sword in his mouth, the Hobgoblin began his arduous journey back to his hidden shrine.

Though extremly exhausting due to the sheer weight of the corpses, Ren managed to make it back to Gatoven's shrine thanks to [Gravekeeper's Spirit]. Nearly collapsing as he laid out his offerings, he offered a quiet prayer between gasps of breath in hopes of getting at least some sort of meaningful recognition from his god, "Lord Gatoven, I have made good on my vow, and dedicate the spoils of my hunt to your name."

Standing back to his feet, Ren looked over at the recovering wolf  that he had brought back (whom he had laid several yards away from the offerings). Knowing that Gatoven would get back to him at some point if his offering was deemed worthy, the goblin set out to find some horned rabbits for dinner.

The wounded wolf was quickly silenced as it felt the presence of an alpha in front of it. The wolf quickly calmed down and let the new alpha go to work. It whimpered and yelped as it was stitched up but eventually it became silenced as it healed thanks to it's new alpha. It didn't move and instead waited until it was finally let down nearby.

It laid down on its side but kept its eyes on the hobgoblin that saved it somewhat trusting it. Clearly it knew it was indebted to the hobgoblin but trust would need to be established properly. The shrine he made soon hummed in acknowledgement of its trial. The hobgoblin kept its promise to offer the wolves.

Soon the bones, blood, and fangs of the wolves traveled to the goblins sword. The sword was then covered In blood before it was revealed to the hobgoblin as it seemed to upgrade. The blade now had a dark red hue like the blood and the blade itself became curved and if one looked closely they would see the blade was serrated with the fangs and claws of the wolf. The hilt of the blade even changed now bones swirled around the hilt like a guard.

The floor soon showed metal on the floor below him making a message. "you have proved worthy. Your sword will change and soon become one of legend. Your enemies will become your strength, follow shirila and you follow me. For she is my mother. You will become the deadliest swordsman if you follow this path" then the metal vanish without a trace

Hobgoblin Gird
I hope this works >>>> Contingency plans /// Day 5 // Morning

The swarm was quick, faster than he expected but still he kept out of their reach. As expected, the eyesight of the swarm was poor at best. So far his theory on how they sensed prey was still holding true. The others seemed to be implementing their plan rather well. Luz would make a strong and trusted Allie down the line.

The pale goblin found that navigating the webs was rather easy and had only tripped up a few times. His side of things seemed to be going rather well until he heard the mother spider screech. The swarm stopped for a moment and then began heading back towards the mother. It seemed that one of the others was able to stab the mother but her scream was pulling the swarm back to her.

Acting quickly and trying to disorient the swarm, Gird grabbed a two thick strands that the swarm was moving along. With all the might he could muster in one go He attempted to pull the strands up quickly and then thrust them back down as if shaking a rug. He hoped it would send a ripple or a wave down the webs that would throw the swarm or at the very least confuse them for a moment.

If it worked, Gird would attempt to get past them and help the others by trying to grapple onto the mother. If the tactic didn’t work, he would have to resort to crushing a few spiderlings that fell behind to try to get their attention away from the mother. Either way he knew it was risky and could very well get him bite, but he was thinking of getting bite anyways to see what the effects of the venom really is.

Hogoblin Zats

When the beetle attacked the shield Zats not for the first time wished he knew some kind of magic. The shield did it's job but he could tell that if he took much more hits his arm would go numb and he would risk dropping it. Since he was sure the beetle wouldn't let him just escape he didn't dare run away and expose his unprotected back to it. That plus the fact the giant insect kept up the attacks aimed at the shield meant he would have to kill it quickly.

Ironically the fastest way he could think meant not thrusting his spear and taking the time to watch his enemy closely. Using Gravekeepers spirit he tapped into the strength of the skull he was carrying, hoping to be able to better take the beetle's hits and buy enough time for Creaturologist to reveal the best spot to drive his spear into it's body.

Oleg, Day 5

@Jangel13

It took a bit of time as Oleg slowly worked on a crude ax. He chipped away at the edge of the stone and slowly turned it into an edge. With a bit more elbow grease, he set it into a large stick and tied it with some strips of bark. Finally! He got up, proud of his creation and tested it on a tree. A solid thunk came from the strike and a satisfying cut into the tree. With a proper weapon, Oleg finally went off to hunt and look for food... anything that he could hopefully reasonably handle.

@Jangel13 Skrik the Goblin

Skrik was a serious sort but even he could appreciate the humor in a goblin trying and failing to out-hop a bunny. However, it was a less humorous moment when it ended with his nose dripping river water. He was glad that he had prepared to catch himself. He'd have had a thoroughly pebbled face if he hadn't. Yet there was a price to pay for the horned rabbit's momentary escape.

He caught a glimpse of his reflection.

Flyinggothhippieclowns I'm an ugly creeper aren't I!

Skrik wasn't sure whether he shivered from the river's chill or from the realization that he was truly frightening to look at, even for another goblin. Something deep down inside him, something that he only rarely remembered consciously, suddenly twisted like a dull knife. Reminded of his loneliness and firmly certain that it was going to last, Skrik looked at the horned rabbit. His mouth split into an impossibly wide grin lined with sharp and vicious teeth. His eyes took on a distant, deep, and wretched gleam as they took in the situation and the animal in front of him hungrily.

In his eyes it was already dead, separated into distinct parts. It could only move in a few ways. It was ready to fight. He would eat it. He locked gazes with the beast and lowered his head to drink from his edge of the stream. If the beast was going to fight over water then this would be the perfect provocation. His poisoned knife and the sharp nails of his free hand were both ready.

If it charged head-on then he would snap his left arm out to catch it by the legs and body, or slash it trying. If it slowed, or he succeeded in catching it, then he would strike with his knife before it could do anything more than panic. If, however, it managed to get him with its horn then he was prepared to pin it against his body and kill it there before it could gain distance. When this fight was over. He had some thinking to do.

Hobgoblin Luz

@ReusableSword@Jangel13@Kheliop@Crusader Lord

At First glance, Luz's plan seems to have been working that was until the spider performed a maneuver where it raised the front of it's body and quickly shot a blast of the web at her, Something Luz didn't imagine would happen. "Ow! Shit!" Luz remark after one of her hands was pinned to a tree. Thankful by the time that happened the two goblins made there move and attacked grabbing the spider's attendance so she can take the minute to free herself. First, she begins to pull her stuck hand from the tree as far as she could before she begins digging her blade between her hand and the tree before using her sword as leverage to pry her hand from the tree bitting on her lip as she did to help keep herself from screaming in pain, she did so rather quickly so she end ripping some skin off her left hand(Luz is left handed) and scream a bit in pain as she did.

Luz then turned her attention back to see that the spider had jump away from the group after being injured by the male one. "Well, this was a bit embarrassing." Luz said blushing a bit as she ended up needing help from those she was more than. "But Good job, really Good job." Luz told the two while carefully watching the queen spider. "I going to go in alone for a bit to try to injury this thing a bit more so it couldn't run off, then I need you two to move in fast so we can finish it off. I do not want to risk it underling coming back and depriving us of the kill" Luz told them seriously.

With that said she activated Gravekeepers spirit and begin drawing strength from the skull tied around her hip to make herself more powerful. Then she sent the Nyma down on the ground and took her sword with both hands before changing at the spider Bravery, If the spider would try to shot a web at her then Luz would be mentally prepared to dodge it by moving her body to the side, then she would try to fight the spider from the front using her sword but staying more on the defensive rather than the offensive and waiting for the perfect to counter-attack, preferably when it tries to attack with it front legs if that happen Luz would try to dodge to the side and would swing her sword at one of the spider's front legs, but Luz wasn't too picky about how she injuries it legs after all time was of the essence. If she can injure the spider she would then jump back and order the other two going to move in so it so the three can try to finish it off before it children come back.

As she saw the hulking beast move about carrying around one of her kind around. With their intent clear and her being herself, she couldn't let her devoured. But, joining her in their meal was far from what she aimed for so she took a few minutes following the large creatures around devising a plan in order to free her from them. Still there was alot of things that she didn't know about the beast as this was the first time she saw them even failing to read about them in the monster book back in camp.

But, from the way they were it seems like they relied on their blunt strength rather than their mental capacities so by grabbing a rock she aimed at the other side of the path in a way to test out if she was right about their brains. Following around the two as she uses her small stature and the thick foliage to disguise she starts aiming at the tree on their left, she throws hoping to lure one of them away or rather gives her an opening for an quick extraction. As the rock flies to its destination she readies herself as she keeps her axe in hand.

She takes a heavy breathe in a way to steady herself and to prevent any unnecessary noise from her. But, as she waits for it to land she examines their weapons seeing if they it could have any weaknesses to it that she could exploit, like rope that keeps it all together.

Summary

  • She followed the trolls.
  • She devised a plan to find out more about them
  • She throws a rock to lure one or open a more favorable situation for her.
  • She examines their weapons to see if she can disable or destroy it.
