The odd haired boy had given her the permission to sit next to him followed by quite a lustrous wink. Rin blankly gazed at him for a moment as her cheeks flushed with the color of a soft red. Rin quickly gulped and gave him a swift bow, it did not take her long to take place on the chair whilst holding her skirt against her thighs so that it wouldn't be lying all over the chair. Reality check, did her chair neighbor just wink at her? That must have been second base at least! It felt somewhat unreal that she would find someone already that had eyes for her... She shouldn't pull conclusion so quickly already! He might have had something in his eye! She should stay calm and act like nothing had happened.

Rin breathed out in deep manner before sitting herself upright and expressing a somewhat more determined look. She noticed many more people enter the auditorium, first off was a somewhat older looking boy that seemed more normal than anyone here to be honest, he had a strict expression stuck on his face but didn't seem mean or anything. Next was a bear! There was a big tanned guy walking in, w-was he first years!? Or were there actual mountain bears here just like in her hometown?! Rin felt a deep creeping shiver over her spine when she saw him appear. Rin physically looked shocked when she first saw him but didn't want to make him feel bad so quickly looked away in embarrassment. Another slim boy entered, he appeared as boyfriend material as well and off course, blonde! He had introduced himself so Rin again felt needed to reply softly as she bowed her head slightly.

"Hello..."

Next! Another girl seemingly from her age had entered, she looked quite diva like. Rin was somewhat jealous on how pretty she looked and it even felt like she would be able to friends with someone like that if she tried hard enough. With her mouth somewhat agape she watched after the girl untill she seated and the next person walked in. As final for now there was yet another somewhat odd person that strolled in, he appeared to have somewhat green hair and pinkish eyes. Although it did appear as an odd combination at first Rin didn't dislike it. He seemed to have been the type that was somewhat more lazy, and unsocial. Her eyes were somewhat affixed to the size of his hands that didn't exactly match with the rest of his body portions. Perhaps something to do with his quirk? He went somewhat more to the side of the group than sit with them. Rin looked back in front of her after having stared at him long enough but would occasionally still take a short glance at him wondering what his quirk would be.

Rin drooped her shoulders somewhat seemingly getting less tense by the minute. She was a little startled when Chen suddenly let everyone around him know that they didn't have to be so tense. She awkwardly chuckled a little, was it needed to express your thoughts like that. He did have a point though, they should all be proud of themselves for having made it into the academy. They could actual learn from pros and put all their effort in. It should be fun. Rin flashed a kind smile Chen his way and spoke to him about the city. He found Sapporo to be big but not as big as Tokyo, that might have been true. She heard Tokyo was pretty big as well and was the city with the most people in it on the whole world. She had surely experienced that when she was at Tokyo station.

"Oh, Rin has been to Tokyo station yesterday. That was already big on its own. Rin got lost many times and didn’t like that there were many people. How many times bigger is Tokyo than Tokyo station?”

Rin spoke in third person whenever no one told her she did. It has been a habit. See Sapporo as the sticks? She tried to imagine how big Sapporo really was and compared it to her hometown. Oh… Tokyo sounded pretty big if you thought about it like that. Now that she heard about Chen his hometown it might be nice to let him know about her hometown as well.

”Rin is from the sticks! It is near Okayama…”

The sudden approach and conversation with a girl was jarring to say the least. It wasn’t unwelcome, even with the thick molasses of snark and sarcasm from the attractive girl. But for Shun, his mind was elsewhere (as it had always been on stressful days) to play the part of the hormonal teenage boy. “Spaced out?” Shun finally reacted as she gave her schpeel.

“No, no!” He chuckled. “I’m actually just excited. I was scared I would be late!” He grinned a toothy grin that seemed to completely ignore all the stressors around him, ignoring the fact that he was sitting in the belly of a beast designed to destroy people like him.

“Though I feel bad for that guy,” he said, looking over to where the feline-looking boy had cried. He hadn’t even really noticed it until the girl brought his attention to it. He was completely unaware that the tears were happy. “I hope he’s okay!” A hero would have made sure he was okay. The stern voice in the back of his head echoed. And that much was true: ever since he’d been accepted to the academy he knew he had to start acting less like a kid and more like a real hero.

“Oh! Right,” he said, realizing he had not introduced himself to Fuyumi. “I’m Shun! Tanaka Shun! From the racetracks of Okinawa all the way up to the frozen north!” He smiled, extending a hand to her. “It’s a pleasure to meet you Fuyumi! Let’s be great heroes!”

Yuki was sitting quietly and politely near his fellow first-years. They seemed to be a batch of interesting and unique individuals. As not to pun himself away, Yuki refrained from commenting on their quirky nature, though they did seem to have an odd aura around them. Yuki simply observed them, waving and smiling when new ones came and joined.

He couldn’t help but notice that a few of them were standouts just by their physical appearance alone. There was the taller one with a darker skin tone that Yuki was used to seeing. There was one with cat-like features. One who kept referring to themselves in the third person. There was also one who seemed to have a very high opinion of themselves. Suffice to say that, based off of their introductions alone, Yuki was surrounded by a diverse amount of aspiring heroes like himself. And as it would follow his first gut instincts, their personalities seemed to be set in stone. Each had their quirks and each had something that made them who they were. Yuki respected that about them - so much so that he would embody his mother for his next course of action.

“Oh, you’re from Tokyo as well?” Yuki’s eyes lit up as he looked Chen’s way. “I hale from Tokyo, as well!”

Takara sat confused amid her fellow first years. Wow, so many faces! She’d have to get introduced to all of them. She took note of as many names as she could, but quickly lost track. Adachi Chen, Mizuhana Yoshiba, Ookouchi Yachiyo, Chikai Yuki, and, well, a bunch of others. Wow, it sure was crowded all of a sudden. She’d intended to introduce herself to, uh, Yoshiba (Yeah! That’s right!) and then meet some of the others afterward. There was probably going to be some sort of group introduction at the beginning of classes, directly or not. Whew, now there was some creep leaning over her to grin at Yoshiba. Yikes. Oh, now he was talking about Tokyo?

Hey! I’m from Tokyo!

Then some other kid, Yuki (Yeah! That was right too!), piped up about Tokyo too!

”Hey! I’m from Tokyo too! I’m Katō Takara!”

Takara practically shouted it at the Tokyo crowd. Her excitement was clear in her voice, and the way she swiveled to view the Tokyo crowd was a bit too quick to be mistaken for anything else. But she couldn’t see any girls in the Tokyo crowd right now aside from some girl from Okayama, which was a bit disappointing. She caught her name, Rin, just at the end of whatever it was that she was saying.

”I’m from Ryōgoku! What district are you guys from?”

Takara flexed her arms with excitement, pumping one in the air to express pride in where she lived. It was, admittedly, a weird place for someone like her to live, but considering her connection to Sumo, it wasn’t that surprising. It was mostly so her father wouldn’t have to commute far, but it made things a little more difficult for Takara and her mother. But still, it was her home and plus it was the world’s best place for Sumo, so of course she’d be proud to live there! Who wouldn’t?

Yoshiba shrugged, not caring one way or the other about the boy’s attachment of “-tan” to her name. She said he could use whatever honorific he wanted. He could’ve called her Yoshi-chan and she would’ve acted the same. She didn’t care what people beneath her did or said.

As the group grew and yammered on and on about useless things, the blue-haired girl’s grip of her pamphlet tightened. She was tempted to turn back around, grab the chair she was sitting in and swing it at the nearest person's head. In fact, strands of her hair had already went to grab the rim of the chair as she thought so. Had not for her thoughts reminding her to not waste time she might’ve been in the process of doing so already. But how would it look to anyone here if she flew off the handle and beat one of her “peers” to death? She wouldn’t look like a hero, even if the sidekick deserved to be put in their place. She would look like a villain and she certainly wasn’t comparable to the type of people who had put her life into ruin.

She knew it was probably better that she looked “presentable” to any instructors that could have noticed her as they walked by; not that she cared about how things “looked” when she knew she was in the right. Being a hero wasn’t meant for fun and games or caring what other people thought—being a hero was doing your best and giving your all. Beyond 100%. After all, that’s what her parents did.

Just a bunch of sidekicks. Ignore them.

Yoshiba kept her eyes set on the stage, a few of the support members of the faculty seemed to be having a discussion behind the podium, probably making sure everything was ready for the big speech. This must’ve meant it was only a matter of time before they asked the students for silence and did their big song and dance, right?

As students both old and new milled about the front gates of Ishin, a lone girl stood amongst them, hesitating to cross the threshold before her as if there was a huge wall before her. Her long pointed ears drooped as she looked towards the main building, curling a lock of pinkish purple hair around her finger as she seemed to be struggling with some kind of decision internally, the fingers of her other hand tapping rhythmically on the handle of her rolling luggage bag.

Come on, Camilla. Just be yourself, no need to worry about anything. You made it in, things can only get go up from here, right? She thought, brightening up and almost taking that first step, only for another part of her to speak up, seeming insistent on trying to take the wind out of her sails and kick her back into 'reality'.

Except if the racist assholes in this place decide to kick you to the curb for some minor thing. Then they get the brownie points of “at least we tried” while also enforcing their bullshit philosophy of how shitty foreigners are. Why are you even here?

To learn from the school that dad learned to be a hero, and show them just how wrong they are for thinking something like where someone is born makes people less qualified to be here! Stop worrying, everything will be fine!

Will it really? How sure can you be when you haven’t even met your teacher?

And so her thoughts continued to go in circles for a few moments more before Camilla finally snapped out of it with two quick slaps to her cheeks. After taking a breath to calm herself, the young american took her first step onto Ishin academy proper, her ears wiggling a bit in fearful excitement as she wondered how her time here was going to be. She'd never been this far away from her family before, heck, she'd never even had a sleep over before, yet now she was going to have to be by herself for months in a country she'd never even been to before a week ago. Everything seemed so strange and exotic, so much so that even though her eldest brother Trenton(who had been to Japan numerous times with their dad) had shown her around the city in order to help her get situated, she still couldn't quite believe she was here.

The same could probably be said for most of these students about us. That negative part of her subconscious said, seemingly incapable of not chiming in, much to Camilla's frustration. They're looking at you, even now. Judging you. Just waiting for you to slip up and prove every nasty idea in their heads right.

On this point, her inner cynic was at least partially right. Even before she decided to stand in front of the school gates like a statue for a few minutes, she had noticed quite a few students looking at her with a verity of expressions both positive and negative. No matter how much she'd like to believe otherwise, she was certain that there would be people here who already had their minds made up about her. But rather than fixate on that fact, she shook her head, ears perking up as she approached the doors to the academy. So what if they decided to be bigots? She wasn't going to give them the satisfaction of being cowed by their prejudice attitudes, and who knows, she might even change a few minds along the way.

With her mindset and her resolve mostly hardened, Camilla made her way to the meeting hall, walking in with silent steps as she looked around for a place to sit. After a few assessments of the crowd as a whole, she decided to sit up front next to this one girl who seemed like they might be in a similar boat as her. As she approached, however, she couldn't help but notice that she looked a bit. . . tense? Or at the very least apprehensive. It'll be fine, just walk up, smile, and introduce yourself. and things will be just fine. Strangers are just friends you've yet to make, right?

With this in mind, the young girl walked up to her fellow student, ears pulling back slightly as she made her presence known with a soft "Excuse me?", the Japanese coming out a little slowly as she wanted to be sure she didn't mess up anything in her nervousness.

"Uhm. . . Hi. Name's Camilla Yumi and I was wondering if you'd mind if I sit next to you?"

Osamu Kenzo

"Indeed, very promising." Osamu replied to her commentary on the other's timeliness. It was certainly good to see that everyone was showing up well before the ceremony had started, rather than just before. Admittedly, Osamu would have been most surprised to find his fellow Japanese students skirting the bounds of proper attendance, whereas that was precisely what he would expect from the foreigners, a few more of which had presented themselves. He supposed it was for the best that they at least did not besmirch the school with tardiness, but it would remain to be seen just how well behaved they would really be.

Unfortunately for Osamu, it appeared that Ookouchi was familiar with him. Being quite sure he had never met her in person, it was more than likely that she was aware of him by association with his father. While Osamu was hardly ashamed of him, bringing up the name "Kenzo Miura" in polite conversation provided a mixed reception. Even in this country, there were those that did not appreciate harsh words spoken about foreigners, even if they did not all openly complain about such views. Osamu had been challenged over his father's politics a handful of times before, and it was usually a less than pleasant experience. Not one to be dishonest, Osamu would simply have to say it plainly. "No, I am from Aomori. I suspect you find me familiar due to my parentage. Does the name Kenzo Miura ring a bell? He's a member of the Diet. I have appeared at his side on more than a few occasions, so that would be the most likely place to see my face." Thinking about it more, it was probably for the best if he discovered Ookouchi was largely disinterested in politics. If she happened to support his father, she was likely to be a rather controversial individual herself. He would just have to wait and see.

Rikuo smiled when he saw that the cat-guy was actually fine. Thank goodness. He didn't know what he could actually do to help if he wasn't alright. He patted the guy's shoulder. "You gotta have more confidence in yourself." After all, he was pretty sure that Ishin wouldn't accept a student who wasn't worth their time. His quirk must be powerful though. Looked like a mutation quirk thanks to the cat tail but he could be mistaken. Oh he was so curious as to what this guy could do. It didn't seem like he was too confident in it since he couldn't believe that he actually got into the academy, so could it actually be a relatively weak quirk? But then Ishin wouldn't accept him. Was it just really because the cat-guy wasn't too confident in himself? The questions circled his mind as he continued to interact with the male.

He nodded. "Yup, that's right." Looked like he didn't need to tell him that it was fine for him to be called by his first name with or without honorifics. He was surprised that he managed to catch his name, despite having been crying tears of joy earlier. Normally, people would have tuned out most of the background noise. But, he guessed that was less energy to spend on re-introducing himself. "Good to meet 'ya Daiki-kun." He said with a slight bow of his head to at least show respect at the mildest form. He then leaned back on his seat, looking at the stage for a moment before looking over back to Daiki when he commented about his accent.

A grin spread across his face as he placed a closed fist on his chest. "Osakan through and through." He said proudly. His posture soon relaxed and he placed his hand back on his lap before continuing. "Or, well, I grew up in Fujidera my whole life. Pops came from Tokyo though." He admitted with a small shrug. It was the reason why it was perfectly fine for him to go to Tokyo for competitions every now and then since he could live with his father's siblings for a short while.

His fingers began to tap against his lap. It was the wait. He was not impatient, but when he simply stood still, his body just feels the need to expel energy in some way. Fidgeting usually became the answer to that. "How 'bout you? You a local?" He imagined living so close to Ishin would be the reason why most would go there instead of UA - if not because they failed the entrance exam to the top school for heroes.

A faint hint of pink flared on Yachiyo's cheeks, her lips thinning into an almost melancholic smile. Osamu seemed an amiable fellow, but she couldn't help but feel stuck between a rock and a hard place, her parents teachings and beliefs on one side, and Osamu's father's on the other. Her own passiveness towards such subjects didn't help but put her uneasiness center-stage. “Oh, uh, well, yes. My parents are... partial. To the LDP, and such.” Yachiyo had leaned in slighty, lowering her voice dramatically from the prior alert shrill.. Her eyes - uncharacteristically - had drifted away from Osamu, even while she spoke, instead flickering across the seats and their occupants to their sides. Mirthless politeness crept into her face and manifested in a well-practiced smile, as she bowed forward just a bit. “It's very nice to meet you, Kenzo Osamu. I'm sure the school is delighted to have you, too. It's an honor to study alongside of you.”

Her parents would be fawning over Kenzo Miura's son attending the same class as their daughter. She'd have to make sure to include it in her writing home, soon. Truthfully, she, too, was surprised to find the boy exude a fair bit of warmth in their exchange. Apathy to the business of people like her parents tended to roam inside of her, but this was... a positive surprise. “I hope will get along well.” Glancing at the blue-haired girl's eyes continuously sliding into malicious squints, Yachiyo's teeth dug into the left part of her bottom lip, wondering aloud, though she hoped the girl didn't notice her. “Our classmates are very diverse, and... interesting, aren't they?”

It was hard to believe that this young man was crying just moments ago. But that's how he has always been, crying at the drop of a pin but getting better moments after. That's what you get being an emotional roller coaster. Rikuo patted his shoulder, which took Daiki by surprise, but he didn't exactly flinch or shrugged it off as he took it in strides and grinned a pointed smile. "That's nice of you to say." He shouldn't question the Ishin's staff after all they see something inside him that he didn't notice, hopefully they can uncover that for all to see. Because even Daiki doesn't know what makes him worthy of this school. Maybe all of his hard work was just enough.

It would appear Daiki got the boy's name right. Most people tend to not hear or cancel out outside stimulation while crying. He didn't because he does it so often that it became a useful of gaining info out of people. People think they understand crybabies. They really don't. "Oh I'm glad to hear I didn't mess your name up~" Daiki said in a cheery tone of voice. He was good at names. Makes lying to them easier. The boy said it was nice to meet him, hopefully it will be. "Likewise, Rikuo-kun!" He said with a cheerful grin. Daiki faced the stage as well mimicking Rikuo somewhat, before looking back at Rikuo, Daiki had a habit of mimicking others, must be the cat in him.

Rikuo grinned and proudly claimed himself as Osakan, but it appeared that cute comment went from one ear to the other, pity, he's cute. But Daiki's guess he was Osakan was correct, well mostly correct, his father was from Tokyo. "Oh?" Daiki let out curiously, Daiki was curious about Rikuo family' situation, family history was sort of a topic Daiki's was curious about, since he never had a family, and knowing how families work makes his lies all the better.

Daiki's tail swayed gently behind him, having a tail was nice as it was a way to stay active without being distributive. Most people tend to not linger on his tail for too long. They should, its cute. Rikuo than asked if he was a local, Daiki simply shakes his head and says, "Nope, I'm from Aomori... I'm not sure where my parents are from though." Daiki said aloud, he frankly didn't but he deiced to give a Rikuo a string to chase after and hopefully ask about so he could start his strings of lies.

Breathe in and breathe out - that's the only activity Adrianne spent doing for the most of her time riding on the bullet train... other than sizing up the others in this train and constantly thinking about the text messages she received from her family. She was tenser than ever, with that attitude only exemplified by one of her legs shifting back and forth.

She unblinkingly stared out the window, her scowling visage resting on her propped up arm; furrowing her brows, Adrianne breathed deeply through her nose before breathing out the same passage. Watching the scenery swiftly pass on by, the girl thought about the final message as she stepped off that plane, alone. Temporary reservations were made early on for her to stay at a hotel. Adrianne knew what her parents hoped the girl would do for the past few days.

Their efforts were no different than what she thought of it all - a waste of time. She was here for many reasons, and screwing around wasn't on her agenda. That scowl intensified as she closed her eyes and let out a short sigh, sitting and meditating to herself before opening her eyes again to focus the scenery swiftly fly on by.

It was just as fleeting as her interest as the girl rolled her head to look the other way, finding herself glaring at the empty seats across the aisle... in fact there weren't a whole lot of others surrounding the other seats other than her suitcase. It was like she was cursed being... it didn't help that Adrianne could hear the rather noisy whispering of what she presumed were Japanese students heading to Ishin.

"Tch," she peered back over the seat, resting her arm on the head of it, glaring backward at the perpetrators. They didn't exactly catch her doing this until thirty seconds later, but one of them immediately shut up, cuing the other to take a glimpse at what their friend was staring at.

Her visage was stoic and stony, hardened just as much as her muscles, semi-visible through the sleeves... and Adrianne's face? That stare was all it took to get them to shut up.

That former scowl harbored from earlier had dissipated, turning into a nearly unnoticeable frown. Her eyes were focused directly on the duo, as if glowing and silently judging them with a high level of contempt; those were the red eyes they were stabbed with, piercing and vibrant... and the way her brows furrowed and the ways girls eyes slowly went into a semi-squint. She radiated with that cold, sharp discerning visage, slowly moving it to eye the others conversing, only to notice them breaking into an unnatural silence of whispers.

A few thoughts were going through her head, such as a passing judgment upon the supposed other students of Ishin, sizing up her competition, as well as silently pondering to herself over what they were all discussing. Was it the news, daily life, or how their dreams were? Adrianne was certain she heard something about a nightmare performing some strange deed.

Or maybe they were talking about that hero?

... as much as she wanted to know, there was a stronger urge to stay put and not waste her time. Interjecting wasn't on her list of priorities... her real priority was getting to Ishin Academy.

As the bullet train came to a halt, Adrianne took few passing glimpses as she slowly rose to her feet. Tightly grasping the handle of the large suitcase, she instantaneously hauled it behind as if it was nothing more than a lightweight ragdoll. She had to do everything she could to prepare for this, even doing minor "workouts" such as these on the way to her new school.

She was alone, stepping out into the aisle and deftly striding out the front door, appearing as if there was a chip on her shoulder. The horned girl didn't even hear the conversation start up again, loud and cacophonous is ever. Not like she would ever care as she alternated the arm she carried her luggage in, wordlessly recalling and making her way down the streets.

The train was no different than before - everyone kept their distance and whispered to themselves... though she did swore that she heard something about "that horned girl." That certainly caused her to raise an eyebrow and glower in the direction she heard that in.

... other than the little comment and her nasty glare, the whole trip was uneventful; she had the layout somewhat memorize to a tee, barely making a single mistake as she trudged, closer and closer to the academy.

Eventually, after some time, she arrived, alternating her grasp on the suitcase to her left hand. While she would of normally been punctual, she was... intuitive, curious, judgemental. The girl wanted to get an idea of what she was up against; she had an idea of how Ishin worked, hell, even was exposed to something similar earlier in her life.

So she stood, pretending to bask in the "glow" of Ishin, hungry eyes not fixated on the towering school she was going to conquer, but the others attending. She blinked once during this whole predicament, sifting through the crowds and mentally separating the mites from the apex predators, the bottom-feeders and the sharks, the first-rate students who were a threat and the third-rates who would most likely quit.

She was still as a statue, radiating an aura of displeasure as she studied everyone. Some acted like this was just their everyday, ordinary school. What, did they not properly learn about how to use their quirks responsibly or something? Were they still living their fantasies? She bared her teeth, frowning largely in displeasure over some of the students who got in, brows furrowing to the point that if she tried to crease her brows further, they just might tear off from the sheer force.

Not a whole lot look serious; some might be familiar with how the school works, some might not be. It was difficult to tell, especially with those meandering on the campus lawn... so she just filed them into the same group...

... and that's when she decided to leave for the hall housing the first-years. Trudging out of the courtyard, her face contorted with sheer disgust and frustration. She could just break the grip of her suitcase just by tightening her own hand around it, yet she displayed some restraint. This was ridiculous.

Why were they all so relaxed?! Did they breeze through the interview because they knew someone? Got in by recommendation? Or was it because they were Japanese?! Did they get free passes because of any of these reasons?!

...

...

...

No, no, stop. Don't get pissed. This is your first day. Ishin will see them for who they are and they'll be gone within the week... possibly a month in the worst case scenario. Just breathe in and out through your nose. Calm breaths. This is fine... besides, you'll show em' anyways. They'll see. You'll kick their asses out of the park.

Just breathe in and out...

Taking a deep breath in and out, seldom taking in the other students around her. That unpleasant scene and thought was just... unbearable. Better to just try and focus on herself, at least right now. Despite the mildly crowded corridors and close vicinity of students, there was still a bit of a bubble surrounding her as Adrianne made a passing glance... suddenly became Moses by making a small group of people part a bit.

This involuntarily caused her to just roll her eyes and shake her head, glaring down the hallway before noticing a few students be ushered into a specific hall. From the last time she reviewed how this whole presentation was going to go out, this hall was supposed to be for first years... god, the way school years were structured here were peculiar.

Filing in with the crowd, there was a temporary contortion of her face, a bit of a mixed bag of emotions over what she was feeling. On one hand, this auditorium was actually filled with a lot of students... on another, some of them were just being a bunch of chatty dips. Eventually, it just settled back to her usual visage as she strode up to the front and quickly found a seat that was far away from some of these more chatty individual.

... though, while she did observe others, more and more came, filing in, wading to their assorted defeat or success, Adrianne relocated herself more than once around the front. At certain times, it was because most of these third-rate students were busy blathering over some event she could care less about; wasted brain space and time was what that was.

Other times, some attempted to converse with her, to which she callously ignored, grabbing her bag and hauling it away to another spot. It was less of a waste of time to keep relocating than to have to actually put up with some of these flunkies... she would of hoped that she could be stationed near some students with a semblance of responsibility and silence.

If anything, it was getting grating that she had to constantly move every few minutes. It made her look indecisive, and she did not want these people looking down on her like she was... so against her better, agitated judgement, she ended up sitting next to Tentacle Blue and Her Comedy Crew.

Regardless, it was just irritating just being in the vicinity of them, at least four seats away. She was mildly slouching in her chair, leaning on one of the armrests and propping up the rest of her arm to cradle her cheek on. There was a bit of a pout on her face that was blooming into a spiteful glower by the minute... didn't these people know how to shut up?

And if anything else, she was the epicenter of it all, the cause of this disturbance from what she presumed... probably a friggin' second-rate student who didn't know how to control the rest of her third-rate crew.

So throughout the chaos that was ensuring near her, Adrianne slowly turned and anchored her head, glowering directly at Tentacle Blue with a piercing gaze, and a scowl that was ultimately filled with contempt.

How did people like this even get into the school?

Jin sat in the front row, playing a game on her phone and trying to project an aura of ‘leave me alone’ to the rest of the world. She could hear a bunch of students talking animatedly, and there was a small part of her who wanted to join them. Especially when she heard “Tokyo” come up more than once. A response would come to her lips, but in the end, she said nothing and the moment was gone. Oh well. They probably didn’t want to hear from her anyway.

“Come on, level 24…” She muttered to herself as she forced her attention back to the game. Not long after that, she heard a very soft, almost halting Japanese introduction. She swept a glare upward and was about to dismiss whatever question this person had about her.

Then she was very glad she hadn’t spoken after all. Jin stared at the elf-like girl for a second longer than was appropriate, before dragging her gaze back to her phone.

“Yeah, s’fine. Not my seats.”

Her uncle’s words rang out in her memory, and she peeked up again.

“I’m Jin Takahashi, if it matters.” Suddenly, words were coming up. “I’m surprised there are 2 of us here. Maybe Ishin’s got a quota or something. 1 foreigners and 2 hafu’s per semester.” Of course this girl would have had to heard of the school’s reputation. Why was she here? What were the odds? She knew generally how many people like her were in Japan overall, having looked it up more than once. But to have another half-black person, going to the same school, on the same day, in the same class? Maybe she should calculate that for the hell of it.

She dug in her bag for a notebook and pencil.

“Glad to see another person here to shake up their comfort zone. Nice to meet you, Yumi-kun.”

Jin started to scribble out numbers in a complex equations.

The bullet train—why was it called that? Its original Japanese name made sense. Shinkansen. With the Shin meaning "new" and the Kansen meaning "main line" or "trunkline", it came naturally and sounded great. Bullet train, however, made little sense. It was fast, yes, but so were planes. One didn't go around calling every supersonic plane a "bullet plane". Was it the rounded tips of the train? If so, then one would need to block out sound shoving ear bullets into their ear holes. Or, possibly, they would have to crack a chicken bullet into a pan.

Idle musings filled Momoka's mind. The train ride, despite being rather short for the distance traveled, left her with nothing to do but think about things. By the end of the first hour, she managed to completely think about every important topic that came to mind. She frantically argued with herself, switching topics every time her train of thought derailed. From her future as a hero to the etymology and critique of naming things, meaningless topics appeared and vanished like a fly.

But coming up, this was her stop. Sapporo—home of the annual Sapporo Snow Festival, the eponymous beer, but—most importantly—Ishin Academy. This was the place where she would learn to become a hero.

It was also colder.

Despite only being somewhere in the realm of 12°C, Momoka had worn an extra shirt underneath her uniform. The shirt, however, was oversized. This made her appear lumpy. Though, in this day and age, having an abnormal body type was usually accepted.

The trip to Ishin Academy was not noteworthy to any extent. She had the map and everything she needed with her, after all. What kind of person couldn't even do something as simple as follow a map?

She entered the gates and, like the others, had been directed towards the auditorium. There, she saw the group she was supposed to sit and mingle with—the other first years. Interesting bunch, to say the least. They seemed to be having fun, conversing and introducing themselves. But, though Momoka was a sociable person, she had to focus intently on her schooling. After all, her father was strictly opposed to her becoming a hero. If she wanted to be a hero, then she would need to prove herself at the strictest school that would be uninviting of her. To her father, that meant Ishin Academy.

First, she needed to find a seat. Sitting next to a big group of talkative people was a no-no. She would have easily found herself distracted. As such, she had made a conscious decision to sit alone. Finding a nice spot alone, she sat. She would bide her time for now, waiting for whoever was the speaker to, well, speak.

From what Osamu could tell, it seemed as though Ookouchi had little interest in such politics. That suited Osamu just perfectly. He had come here to become a Hero, not get bogged down in debating his father's politics. He would have breathed a sigh of relief if he had been alone at that moment. With that out of the way, he could focus on that which mattered; getting to know his fellow first years as people. Ookouchi, for one, seemed like a perfectly nice person. Extremely polite and formal to a fault. It was more than likely practised, but that hardly mattered to Osamu. Formalities were practically intrinsic to the Japanese experience, and it was only fitting that Japanese people exhibited Japanese virtues, whether they explicitly chose to or not. "The honour is all mine, Ookouchi Yachiyo." He replied to her, with his own practised smile plastered on his face.

Following her gaze, it seemed she too was curious about their soon-to-be comrades. "Interesting indeed." Osamu remarked in response to her observation. Shortly after taking in the sight of the irritable blue haired girl Ookouchi appeared to stare at, Osamu took notice of a foreigner making a decidedly nasty face not far from her. She was difficult not to notice, being one of the few pure foreigners Osamu had seen, and possessing of both significant height and an overtly hostile countenance. She appeared to be attempting to visually burn a hole into the blue haired girl's head. "I must admit, I am concerned as to how such a diverse group will co-exist without significant tension." He spoke to Ookouchi in a somewhat hushed tone. If the hostility of their foreign peer boiled over into direct conflict, Osamu would take it upon himself to intervene. However, even he did not fully expect a foreigner to be so reckless as to start a brawl on their first day, in the sight of all gathered for the assembly no less. Still, the overwhelming contempt exuding from the foreigners demeanour made him question just what she planned to do...and why such a person was admitted to Ishin Academy in the first place.

Rikuo honestly was surprised at how quickly Daiki had changed from crying mess to cheerful guy, but he shrugged it off deeming that it isn't as interesting as you would think. He didn't particularly care that Daiki's personality changes that quick. It's not like it's bad for him. "So, what is your quirk anyway?" He questioned, curiosity boiling over at this point. While he didn't want to be too pushy, he just wanted to know by this point and mulling over it by himself wasn't exactly the ideal way to find out about it. He could simply ask, after all.

Seeing that Daiki seemed to be interested in his claim about his father's family, Rikuo decided to sate his curiosity. It wasn't like his family situation was a secret since it wasn't too bad. "Pops went on a vacation to Fujiidera. Fell in love with my ma and well, he decided to stay." Not a lot of people want to move away from Tokyo so a lot of people questioned why his father decided to move away when he could have his mother move to Tokyo.

He then rubbed the back of his head. "Pops said that it's peaceful there." Rikuo had to agree with his father on this one. It was peaceful and beautiful, and that was the truth. He then shrugged. "Kinda boring, but hey, good place to wind down if 'ya want. Could even give 'ya a place to stay if you're visiting." Was that an invitation to come visit his hometown? Hell yeah! While he has gotten tired of his hometown, that didn't mean he didn't know the charm of it. The more people who knew about it, the better!

"Aomori huh? Never been there. Mind telling me what to check out if I go there?" He asked with a grin and a cock of his head. Despite being independent, he can't exactly go around and travel in such a young age aside from Tokyo and Fujiidera. Upon the mention of him not knowing about his parents, Rikuo decided to ask about that too. Surely, there would be no harm in there right? "Why? Something happened to your ma and pa?"

The big question came up. His quirk. Which was a common question, honestly, and one he couldn't lie about. Well without getting in deep trouble. Daiki looked thoughtful for a moment to explain his quirk. Many people assume his quirk is a mutation type due to his cat tail but that was a side effect of one of his parents quirks. His true quirk is more interesting. If useless in a fist fight. But the silence lasted longer than a few seconds he has to say something. Or else. "I have a quirk call [CatScan], it gives me 360-degree vision in a range of 55 meters, I can see though sold matter as well if it within range and I can pinpoint people or objects by the inch within my field of vision... it's a very useful tactical quirk." Daiki answered honestly, his quirk was useful he had to admit but the most flashy or useful in a fight, he depended on his own skills for that.

Daiki was relieved that Rikuo wasn't defensive about going into details about his family life, some people are, for a variety of reasons. Rikuo's life sounded pretty simple, most lives were, even Daiki's was pretty simple. If a little depressing. Daiki never had parents to depend on, he was in fact more of a parent to the younger children he lived than the actual grown up care takers he had over the years. Daiki envied having parents. But it was too late for that emotion to be anything meaningful so he ignored it and not talk about it. But Daiki listened intently to Rikuo talk.

Rikuo said Fujiidera was a peaceful if boring place. It sounded likem Rikuo was askig him to live with him, and Daiki can't not mess with that. "How scandalous, letting a boy you just met at school into your house... what would your parents say?" Daiki joked lightly before laughing off his own joke. "But really, thank you, I appreciate it, Rikuo-kun." Daiki said with a beaming smile on his face. Rikuo than asked what there's at Aomori. Daiki tilted his head to think up a couple o places to visit. Daiki than had a look of realization, "ah! there's the Aquarium, the biggest in all of the Tohoku region!" Daiki said excitedly.

Rikuo took the bait. Daiki let out a sigh and looked at a random direction to look meaningful. Time to start his web of lies. "My parents died when I was very young, a few days before my quirk manifested in fact... from what I could make sense of... they died from a villain attack while I was at daycare." Daiki lied masterfully. Even his eyes started to water up. But Daiki smiled up to Rikuo with tearing up eyes and said, "That's why I was so happy to make it here... why I was crying... my parents' would've been so proud." Would they truly be proud that their child was a huge liar?

Camilla nodded thankfully, setting her luggage beside her before sitting down. Giggling a bit at Jin's mention of Ishin keeping a diversity quota, watched as her fellow student suddenly pulled out a pen and paper, writing down some sort of math equations out as she spoke. Sticking her tongue out at the mere thought of doing math outside of when it 's absolutely necessary, her face quickly changed to an expression of confusion at how Jin had chosen to address her.

Kun. Isn't that supposed to be for boys? Did I come off as particularly boy-ish. The thought swirled for a moment as Camilla considered bringing attention to the odd use of the honorific, at least in her mind, she decided to let it go. It wasn't really that big of a deal to her either way, though it did make her wonder what the girl actually thought of her.

"Heh, I guess I fill two spots then. I'm from the States myself, California to be exact, but my dad is actually an alumnus from Ishin. Honestly, I think he's a big reason why I was even considered, given the school's strict policy on students from out of the country. That said, I doubt his status as a former student is going to get me much further than the door if anything about what I've heard about this school is true." Stretching out a little bit, Camilla turned her gaze across the rows of students behind her, picking out faces in the crowd that seemed interesting or notable. "Oh, and you're free to call me Camilla if you like. Not really a stickler for all those honorifics and what not if I don't have to be, ya know." She wasn't quite sure if she was acting a bit too casual, but Jin seemed to be a casual sort, so she decided to let herself relax a bit, enjoying the ability to drop at least some of the formality that her father's culture so heavily emphasized.

As Camilla's eyes scoured the small crown of students she took note of one girl, in particular, giving a group of students such a nasty glare she could've sworn she was trying to burn a hole into their heads. She couldn't even hazard a guess at what exactly had gotten this girl so riled up, but Camilla decided that it would probably be best not to get on their bad side if she could help it. For all she knew, those eyes could actually burn a hole through people's heads, and she wasn't eager to be the first to experience it by pissing her off.

As Daiki explained his quirk, it was quite obvious that Rikuo was impressed. It showed in his face with a grin and his eyes shining with admiration. "Dang, that there quirk of yours would be really useful as a hero." He said as he patted his shoulder. "Seeing through solid objects? Pinpoint people? In saving the people, you're the most valuable one!" He had raised his voice, but not enough to disturb anyone else who was conversing around them. The admiration in his face matched that in his voice because it rang true. Sure, they could try to save anyone they could see, but they couldn't see within buildings unless they break inside. Any other person can do as much. But with Daiki's quirk, situations like that would be resolved faster and more accurately. This wasn't the quirk he was expecting to hear, especially for someone who wasn't confident with it.

Rikuo rubbed the back of his head. "Guess I should tell you mine in return." He pulled his sleeves up, not wanting to dirty it with the paint that he'd be producing. He'd rather not go through the pain of removing it. Purple spots began to appear on his palm, but it was more than enough for his demonstration. The purple paint rose up from his hands and then he made a circular motion with his finger, and the purple paint followed. "It's called Artistic Dream and it allowed me to produce and manipulate paint." It as a very simple quirk, not at all complicated.

A smirk played on his lips as Daiki twisted his words to tease him and he responded in kind. "Why not? They'd be welcoming any friend of mine." Though he laughed as well, knowing better than to delve too deep into the joke. He would rather not cut his friendship with the first person he talked to in Ishin so quickly. He then nodded. "Least I can do for my first friend here." When Daiki talked about his home town, he listened. But he only mentioned one place. An aquarium. He noted that. "I'll make sure to visit that place... someday." They were going to be really busy in Ishin so he wan't sure when he would actually get to that. But he will. Eventually.

He listened to Daiki's tale, silent but his eyes on the male beside him. His fingers were tangled together. The topic was solemn, the story of his parents. Their death. But Rikuo offered no sympathy - or at least, not much. No 'I'm sorry for you loss'. He doen't need that. "No wonder you wanted to become a hero." Perhaps it was for revenge. Perhaps it was to help others who also lost their families to villains. But it was a reason. A noble one he would guess. "Yeah, they're probably real proud of you. Now 'ya need to graduate too." He gave him an encouraging smile and a nod.

Chen laughed a little as the girl next to him asked how much bigger Tokyo was then Tokyo station, not a malicious laugh but one fille with genuine amusement. "Oh it's much bigger than Tokyo station, you should really visit one day! I'm sure it would be quite the experience for you." Rin introduced herself as being from Okoyama, or near there anyways. A small town girl apparently, she would have to adapt to the big city life soon if she wanted to be a real hero. But Chen believed in her, she would definitely do well! Just not as well as him. A few other students spoke up as well, introducing themselves as also being from Tokyo. The girl he had originally followed here introduced herself as being from Ryogoku, most locals knew it as the sumo district. "Very nice, I'm from Harajuku myself. You could probably tell though given my fashion." Chen posed a little as if to show off his clothes, before remembering he was in a uniform. "Well, you would if it wasn't for the uniform that is." After saying that he snickered a little, settling back down as he looked over at Yoshi.

He was starting to get to her a little, he could tell in the little details. The way her grip on the pamplet tightened, the way her hair swayed about in an agitated manner, how she refused to look at anything but the stage. He was almost tempted to keep pushing, but now wasn't the time really. No need to start something on the first day, she looked like she was close to snapping at someone as is. Not to say he was giving up, he was going to break her out of that cold shell eventually. But not right now, not today. As he thought about his plans regarding Yoshi-tan, another girl sat next to her, someone who looked just as irritated if not more than she did. She glared at Yoshi, Chen observed to see how this would go down while half listening to anything his other seat partners might say.

Fuyumi eyed Shun with deep, wide eyes. The expression could easily misunderstood. She was in awe of Shun, and not for a good reason at all. Seriously, how would people like him would flock to such an academy, she did not understand. Even if they were subpar, other academies would offer the Okinawan a better chance before being ripped apart. Fuyumi was no fool. She knew that even if you attended one of the best academies, it didn't necessarily mean that it would be the most fitting academy to such an individual.

Fuyumi recovered fast enough, as she closed her eyes, and tilted her head, giving Shun her best diabetes-inducing smile. "I'm sure you will make a great hero." She had to fight the urge to vomit her breakfast out. Perhaps she had overdone it with how fake-sweet her comment sounded like, but the lad seemed pretty oblivious to her earlier sarcasm. It would not hurt however, to keep sticking with this one. Having an acquaintance to lend you a house near the beach was a plus for a Tokyo girl like her. Playing around the beach, provided lodging and travel, was fun and inexpensive.

Her eyes darted through the assemble of students once more. Some people had glanced at her, but for the most part they had tried to pitch their sales in rather unimportant conversations. Crying boy seemed okay. She did notice at least three students were foreigners, and at least a couple of them were numb to the oftentimes absurd nuances of her own culture. Troublesome. They might feel entitled because their profile doesn't quite match this kind of prideful academy and try to keep getting ahead of eachother. Not that I am very different with my unclean blood stigma. Friends of foes, time will tell. Fuyumi clasped her hands in front of her mouth. "Okinawan. Must have a lot of delicious seafood. That's a far shot from where I am from. Like a few others here I'm from Tokyo. Roppongi to be precise." She paused. Well, it was time to make her sales pitch wasn't it? She did decide to not make some overt moves and poses on her first day yet.

There would be more window of opportunity for good first impressions, so she decided to give priority to the breakthrough she had with the Okinawan big guy. Even though his height was losing points as some of the girls in her class were also quite tall. Blame the foreigner genes. "I think we have such luck we will end up in the same class. Just remember, keep your cool and don't give openings. You seem like a good guy... and some people here are mean carnivores."
