History: Clare doesn't know her parents. She was raised in an orphanage. Her parents gave up on her right after she was born. She doesn't judge them anymore. She doesn't know what their situation was after all. Maybe they couldn't afford to raise her, maybe it was for herself to live a better life than what they can give her. She has no idea because despite being 31 she never one even got a hint of their origin. As a child she tried to search for them, but eventually stopped because she didn't want to poke at the sleeping dogs. Maybe it was for the better to not find them, how can she ask them why they give her up and how will they be able to look at her? Thus she grew up in the institution. She was a bright smart kid, but beyond all, she was energetic. Since young age she excelled at physical activities.
As she grew up and went to school, eventually she was given a few different choices for her future. There was the possibility to continue studying and go after some desk career or she can go to hte military academy and join the Alliance. She chose the Alliance it gave the better future for a nobody like her and frankly it beat the hell out of sitting doing a menial desk job for god knows how long only to be slowly raised at better position if at all. Besides she didn't like studying as much. Thus she joined the Military Academy and god damn well excelled at it. She had the makings of a soldier and her teachers noticed it quite early on. She soaked all training and knowledge they gave her like a spundge. Finally she gratuated and did a single year in the Alliance before she was given another proposition. She was an excellent recruit that was true, but they had better place for her. She was then given the choice and with agreement from her was assigned to a Black Ops unit that officially didn't exist in the Alliance. They were not the N7 or the regular Alliance military. They were sent to places where no official action could be taken, places where things had to be swept under hte rug with complete deniability. If they screwed the mission they were going to be given up on by the Alliance. After all their unit didn't exist.
Being in the black ops isn't really a glorious way of life. She had changed more than a few colleagues who got killed on job. She had terminated a few herself for going rogue. All the things she lived through could be seen on her body. She lost all four of her limbs in a manner or another. From an IED that took her left arm, to a pair sliding fans that took her legs when they activated while she was at a ventshaft and even her right hand which was taken after it was torn from her body by a krogan. She's only alive due to her sheer luck. It's her nickname actually the Devil's mistress. Because she probably hooked with the devil to get his luck. Finally at the age of 31 she finally retired from service after more than decade in service to the unofficial Alliance. She was discharged with honors, given a medal for being injured in the line of duty multiple times and all that jazz.
Now she lived a calm life, got herself a small place on the Citadel weirdly enough. It's nothing special, but it's home.
Personality: Clara is generally a friendly person though she can be really mean and vindictive when it comes to it, often harboring grudges for months if not years at a time depending on how much it takes her to put a sneaky revenge plot at works. Since she was a little child, she's been fascinated with the stories for battle and travels, of adventures and peril. It's just been what attracted her. Even before joining the military academy, she often read historical books on all the biggest wars out there from before the reapers and then about the Reaper war itself.
She loves to travel and her job in the black ops had proven good opportunity for it. She's not been out of Alliance space much though... well at least not outside of work. She's been out more than a few times, but usually on a tight schedule and sighseeing isn't exactly priority during a mission. Still she's been hoping to visit Asari space. Stories about it sounded real pleasing and she hops to meet one of those elusive justicars, mostly to study about them, finding their way of life really inspiring to the point she wished she could be doing the same. Sadly in Alliance space if she acted like a justicar it was a surefire way to get court martialed and possibly jailed for life. Though even that possible future doesn't make her interest dwindle and her curiosity lessen. She wants to learn about them... about their codex.
