Nyma

Day 5: Morning

'That idiot!' Nyma thought in her mind with gritted teeth, even as Luz put down the borrowed spear and charged in with a sword at the female spider, which had moved to another location now.

The mother had called its children back, who she could hear the clatter of coming their direction. She herself had nearly been able to spear the thing's face when it lunged in her direction after webbing one of Luz's hands too, though Barth's attack had driven it off before she could get in her blow. Now herself and Barth were to just stand there so Luz could only use a sword charging at a beast that could potentially web up up even more now?! It was lunacy. A plan of sorts, but if they didn't kill mommy spider it was going to get bad. Very bad. Though it was at this time Nyma had a minor thought pass into her mind amidst other things, compelling her body into action without another thought.

'What would that idiot Barth do?'

And with that, Nyma hefted up her borrowed spear into a proper throwing position, properly gauging the weight on her back and accounting for it, the spear in her hand's weight and such, and took three fast sprinting steps before chucking the spear using all her might and the inertia of her brief sprint to power it. The spear, as it were, was aimed as best as could be possible right at the female spider, seeking to pierce it through.

Perhaps she could pull this off? She wasn't in a panic as much as concerned about the situation if they waited. At the very least, Luz needed something to distract the spider from her, or something needed to hit the spider in turn if it paid attention to Luz. Either way would work as long as it....well, worked.

'Duvelna, Ramos, and any other gods out there who might be willing to answer this desperate prayer, i beseech thee to make this throw work. To help me slay this beast so this group may live. If you are a god i do not know out there, give me a sign and i will give there worship as well. Just...please do not be Shirlia if at all possible, she prayed in her mind, intense, determined, desperate and doing the equivalent of placing this throw's success on a prayer.

She wanted to make this attack count. She'd worship as many deities as she needed to in order to get through this and move forward. As long as it didn't piss off the Death Goddess, she'd worship Ramos or other minor gods too if it made her better able to handle this world and survive. She'd always give Duvelna the respect she could, though, regardless of if she worshipped a few gods or not. Hell she'd drag along a pantheon if it would work out well for her in the end.

Though she did not want Shirlia, personally because that felt like a bad idea in her gut for some reason. Likely a good reason. Maybe that god of light was ok, or other minor gods out there who would be willing to answer for a minor follower too? She really had no idea, but the prayer she said in her mind was as intense and genuine and dedicated as she could make it.

Let this work. Pierce her foe, bring forth its death. Before they were swarmed and eaten alive by baby spider and their angry wounded mother. She didn't want to die here. Not now. Not so early on. She....she hadn't managed to acquire power yet and forge herself a true life.

"My Goddess..." The short hobgoblin said briefly as he looked at the thorns. He took in a deep breath, reminding himself that the Goddess, as always, had a plan so the least he could do was to trust her and enact it as requested. With all the trust in the goddess, that lovely thing called faith, he started walking towards the flower. After all, any hesitation here could mean the death of the Goddess' child.

Goblin - Kokulu

tied up and gagged the goblin Kokulu was being carried to the lair of the trolls to be more than likely eaten. in kokulus mind she was annoyed and frustrated are all the things that came to mind when she looks back at her own blunder. =To think this world would have such a stupid level of stupidly hard giants! There should be something against this kind of strength.= she looked around at the area around her =One simple small mistake was all it took for me to get knocked out and captured. Disgraceful!... but at the least If I give it some thought I might be able to make an escape once they try to eat me.=

as she was thinking to herself her eyes snapped over to see a rock flying by to an area behind them most likely to distract the trolls. =That would never work, these things are powerful by themselves and just 1 is annoying already. I would not mind a chance at killing both of them though= She looked over to where the rock was thrown. =And I wonder who might actually be here to help me, suprising as it may I don't see goblins helping other goblins. they would most likely be laughing from afar.=

The trolls kept moving forward and when they soon heard the sound of the rock hitting the tree nearby one of them left and went over to start looking for what made that noise. The other still held onto the stick that held the goblin but his attention was focused on the area the rock was thrown. The one still holding the stick asked "Big food?" but the other shook his head and said "no big food" as if it were sad that nothing was there so it kept looking for a few more moments. Clearly, they weren't that smart...

@demonspade64@ReusableSword@Kheliop@Crusader Lord

The situation was going from bad to worse as they saw movement getting closer and the vibration of the webs got stronger and more frequent signaling the approach of the children. Then as a devote prayer came from one of the goblins and put her faith into her entire being before throwing her spear something odd came. Soon all the goblins in the group heard a strange sound. It reminded them of the sound of rolling dice. A maniacal laugh came when the dice stopped rolling and they soon saw the spear the goblin threw hit squarely in the spider mothers face and it writhed in pain before it fell limp on its web. The children then gave a screech before they all scattered as well. Without the mother to lead them they were fearful and couldn't stand the idea of dying before they were able to.

Soon a pair of dice seemed to fall right out of the sky and they bonked the goblin barth twice before landing on the floor in front of him. The dice seemed to be made from skin and felt as tough as bones with miniature screaming heads representing the die numbers from one to six.

Goblins Liz and Gird gain: Silk Spinning: they have learned how to create their own silk through their fingertips, allowing them to create traps and snares without supplies. However, it isn't controllable at first and acts like silly string.

Goblins Nyma and Barth gain; barbed webbing: The webbing they now spew out has barbs otherwise known as sharp needles in the webbing itself allowing them to not only trap larger prey better but can hurt enemies simply by touching them.

All goblins gain Devils luck; they are all lucky to be alive, and it shows in how well they take chances...

Goblin Barth gained Devil's advocate: This goblin is so lucky that he should have died by now. His ability to live through and come out of sticky situations has shown and the god of chance has even given him a pair of dice to play with, will his luck hold?

@Duthguy

The goblin handled the attacks well but he couldn't keep it up forever. Thanks to his knowledge of the creature's body he noticed a small area that kept moving from exposed to protected meaning it was essential to the beings life. With the power of his skull as it decayed around him the spear was thrust with amazing force and the goblin pierced into the body of the beetle itself. The creature croaked and twitched before it fell limp and landed on the floor below.

Goblin zats gained instant armor: the goblin has defeated a creature with the ability to make a shell outside of its own body and this goblin has learned to do the same. He can now create armor around certain parts of his body at a time making a rock hard shell appear whenever needed.

@Haeo

While the goblin though about how scary it looks the rabbit wondered if it could really win. That smile was unsettling and made the rabbit shake in fear seeing those fearsome teeth. It didn't have a choice though since it needed to protect it's water supply even if it meant death. The rabbit then dashed from side to side performing a zig-zag maneuver to try and confused the goblin before it made one last charge with its horn down to strike. When it struck the goblin was able to grab onto the horn and the rabbit struggled to get free. The goblin strikes the rabbit and once again the rabbit went limp as blood pooled below it and died to give the goblin another meal.

Goblin Shrik learned Pierce: The goblin has learned to pinpoint a spot on an enemy and use a sharp weapon to strike hard at it. This allows the goblin to strike a deadly blow with any sharp weapon and when upgraded can pierce through weapons and armor.

@Heyitsjiwon

The goblin had created a proper weapon to hunt with and was now on the hunt. Which direction he went didn't matter. He kept walking and soon enough he saw a rabbit digging against the ground. It was digging next to a fallen and from what he could tell the little rabbit was trying to dig its new home into the tree itself to keep itself safe. The clearing was small and would allow him to get in closer however it would also mean that if he was discovered the rabbit would be able to run quickly and wouldn't be seen essentially costing him a meal...

@Darked13

The goblin started to walk and the goddess watched as he walked with nothing but absolute faith. The goblin walked forward until his leg was mere centimeters from the poison thorns then he felt a soft blowing of the wind caressing his body as if he was being hugged by a protective mother. He didn't see it but as he walked the wind blew away the thorns from his body. Even when a thorn got close enough to touch him all he could feel was some resistance against his windy embrace as if he was being protected by an invisible force by the goddess herself.

Oleg, Day 5

@Jangel13

Watching the rabbit digging, Oleg just kept still, hid and kept watching. He thought about throwing a rock over to the other side and trying to startle the rabbit so that it would run towards him. But, that was still risky... the rabbit was likely on alert, knowing that it was exposed currently. This was not the opportune time to strike. Oleg decided that he would just wait. The rabbit was spending a lot of energy digging anyways and would start to slowly lower its guard as time went by. Oleg would then strike once its new home was almost done as the longer it dug, the more tired it would be, and the harder it would be to run away as the rabbit continued to ostensibly dig its own grave with each passing second... Oleg just waited for the perfect opprotunity.

Hogoblin Zats

While there was little doubt that he would this battle taught Zats that his spear wasn't the best weapon to use on armored enemies. Sure he could always use the Everoak Shield to try and crush them but he had no idea if Shirila might punish him if he used the defensive item as a weapon too much. When he got back to the church he needed to both make a blunt weapon and an easy way to carry his equipment.

Now though it was time to eat, even if he didn't expect the giant beetle to taste great. Using his spear as fulcrum he turned the insect around so it's lesser protected belly was upwards and began carving a piece of meat out of it, careful not to damage the carapace too much as he was sure one of the others could use it for something if he could drag it back home.

Nyma

Day 5: Morning

As it would seem to Nyma, her fervent prayer for relief in this situation was met with the sound of rolling dice, reminiscent to the Goblin to the clacking of bones if she had to make some kind of comparison. Or perhaps the topic of death was on her mind at the time and altering her perception of the event slightly. Regardless, this sound followed with a maniacal laugh before her spear squarely hit the Spider Mother's face dead on and slew her in one throw, its body going limp with death before more information entered Nyma's mind in the aftermath. More abilities and something else, it seemed, had been gained. Though this was not all that had happened to or around her when it came to the group at large perhaps.

Looking about, she noted how the baby spiders fled in terror from the scene, and looked to Barth as the dice fell onto his head and onto the ground in front of him. It was as if they had fallen from the sky itself, in the case of the dice. But dice, the rolling clacking sounds, the maniacal laugh.....luck. Or rather, chance. A God of Chance who got a kick out of this, if the male tone of the laughing was something to go by. It seemed there was a God of Chance who had decided to roll for her throw here, though regardless of how his laugh made her think of his potential PoV on the situation......it in the end ended up saving the group's hide. Well, it seemed the successful roll most likely this was not on purpose, and she got the feeling that worshiping this particular deity wouldn't bear fruit unless he was amused with them again. Or at least, be any bit effective or worth the trouble.

But for now she had a more important thing to do.

"I dedicate this slain beast to Duvelna, the great goddess of death by whom life is balanced," the female goblin said quietly after taking a knee upon grabbing up her original spear once more from where Luz had left it.

Nyma then rose up, breathing an audible sigh of relief as the air came in and out of her lungs as her pounding heartbeat began to finally slow again. It was done. Two dead spiders so far, one small male, and one large female. The kill, and its benefits, were acquired and in their possession.

Nyma first moved over to where the spider corpse was, shooting her now barbed strings from her hand, enough to at least grasp the body of the larger female. Then using the weight on her back and what tiny bit of adrenaline left in her system, she pulled and pulled until the female's corpse was drug onto the bare ground again. She did her best to use the strings she had attached to its corpse to work up a harness, albeit she wasn't sure of anyone but her or maybe Barth could carry it with the barbs and all now. Maybe she could drag it along? That could work given the web harness thing she had put on it. Regardless, she turned to her next task at hand.

Walking over to Barth then, Nyma picked up the dice in front of him, holding out the male Goblin's gifts from the God of Chance to him in her open palm. She was almost smiling, though in general seemed pleased at how things had gone. Sure she had done something stupid and risky.....but hell at least her and especially Barth seemed to be able to pull these kinds of stunts off at least. It was something, and heck Barth here seemed to spice up the little adventures they'd had so far. It was kinda nice, actually.

"Hey, seems someone dropped you a gift. Heh, you gotta be one lucky Goblin, Barth," Nyma said, a small smirk finally surfacing on her face.

Seeing as her hypothesis was correct she started take her chances as she runs towards the bind goblin, there was no more coming back as with a two pong attack she started executing her plan and the signal of the start of the next story of her life. As she uses her [Devastating double strike] to land to devastating hits into the rope that held the her brethren and into the back of the foot of the troll in hopes of severing a vein or a nerve to slow it down. "GOOD RUN TO THE WOODS AND TELL EVERYONE." She yells out before her axe lands.

But, before seeing if she did any damage she dashes off to the distracted one that went for the rock before jumping to it and landing on its back. She had to act quickly or the goblin won't be able to run off and warm the others. So armed with determination she takes aim at the bony spine that protrudes from its back and with both her arms slams her axes into its behind focusing on her strength and power into it in order deal as much damage as she could.

Summary

  • She executed her plan which started with her cutting the role that held the goblin while also hitting its foot to slow it down.
  • In order for the rescue to work she starts running towards the other.
  • She slams her axe hard onto the back of the other troll that went looking for the "big game".

Hobgoblin Ren
Religion stuff >>> hunting/// Early Afternoon // Day 5

@Jangel13
The sudden response from Gatoven caught Ren by surprise, even more shocking was the changes to his sword.  " Thank you Lord Gatoven, I will not waste your generous gift to me." he quickly prayed.

Motioning to his canine companion to follow, Ren made his way over to the church. Upon entering, the Hobgoblin turned toward the shrine of the Earth Goddess with a light sigh. Stepping forward, he fell to one knee and lowered his head before the shrine.

"Goddess Shirila, mother of earth...  At the request of my god; Gatoven, I have come to pledge my blade to you.  Though I have no intention of worshipping you, I vow that should you ever need me, I will come to your aid." he whispered.  Rising back to his feet, headed out the door and began to hunt for something he could feed his new companion.

Hobgoblin Gird
Contingency plans >>>> Another Kill /// Day 5 // Morning > Afternoon

His vein attempts to try to delay the spiders was beginning to infuriate him. The others had to kill the mother quickly and get out and away from the swarm. But just as the swarm neared the others Gird could only watch as Nyma threw her spear at the spider hoping it would find its mark. Just as she threw it something strange happened. The sound of something rattling and then a deep hearty laugh as the spear found its mark killing the mother spider.

The swarm of spiders seemed to have been able to sense the passing of their mother and scurried away. Then for a moment there was only silence before the others began to relax. Nyma was the first to approach the spider and begin to strap it together with webs. The other two seemed to be catching their breath. “Good job everyone and quick thinking Nyma.” Gird spoke as he stepped up toward them. “Nyma make sure you leave me some of that spider’s venom I would like to… experiment with it later.”

The pale hobgoblin smiled at her and towards the dice, “I am curious as to why the gods pay so much attention to us. Barth, figure out what those dice do then assist Nyma with the spider.” He still felt it a little odd to be giving orders even if they were what he considered small. Luz didn’t look like she was any worse for ware, “good job, rest for a moment and then plan out where we go next.” He would leave them to this knowing that they would make the right decision on where they headed off to next.

He found himself smiling at her again, taking in her form. She looked good with a sword in her hand it felt commanding and a little inspiring. For now Gird had something different in mind as he turned from her and toward the spiders nest. A small cove of white silken threads that was kept surprisingly clean. But the hobgoblin was after something else, something under the silk threads. The spider had built up a small collection of several small piles of bones. Some from what looked like goblins, some from rabbits, and some bones he did not recognize.

He took his time sifting through the piles and pulled out what skulls he could, then piled them just outside the nest. Then he began to pull out the longer and stronger bones from what were once arms and legs, then some smaller bones after that. The one thing gird didn’t like about how he was currently doing things was that he was exposed, he felt exposed and unprotected. Gird remembered his dream from the night before and the hordes of skeletal figures. He remembered some that wore some sort of protective layer like remnants of metal or leather that protected them.

This feeling was something he felt he could remedy with the spider silk. Although he could not control it he knew how strong it could be if woven correctly. The strong strands of web from before was truth enough for him that it could be done. Gird began this process by examining the web around them and how it was spun together. Then tried to mimic the spun webs by using his new skill, he was just glad that his web didn’t stick to him.

If it worked, the hobgoblin would continue to spin silken threads into a more workable and strong fiber before beginning to tie heavy strands around his waist and up across his shoulders and chest. This base structure would be what he would use to secure everything else too. By no means was this a full suit of armor. The smaller bones were just enough to cover some weak spots on his legs and arms with a few bones helping to protect his chest while keeping it visible enough to show off the mark of the goddess.

He was going to try to get some rib bones that he broke into pieces to stick up and over his shoulders in an effort to make himself look bigger and more intimidating. Gird did not think that there would be enough to do the same with the others. At least he now had another goal as he strung a skull to his waist. Get himself a suit of skeletal armor to try to grow closer to the goddess.

Goblin Barth

Day Five: Morning

@Crusader Lord@Jangel13@demonspade64@ReusableSword

Barth couldn’t help but be ecstatic when he felt his spear penetrating the under belly of the female spider. It was the first time he had truly damaged an enemy as he didn’t count his flying body press to the male spider earlier. However he managed to remain present enough to the current situation that he managed to pull away from the blood that poured out of the spider. Knowing that the fight was not yet over he took a deep breathe to calm himself.

When the Hobgoblin Luz complimented Nyma and him on their efforts he flashed her a quick smile before turning his attention back to their surroundings, keeping track of their opponent at least as well as he could. With the new plan that Luz had described he couldn’t help but feel that they were being pushed aside like they were worthless. Barth was well aware that that more than likely wasn’t the case.

For a moment Barth flirted with the idea of coming up with another one of his ‘plans’ taking a chance as he had a tendency to do. Before he could even begin formulating one it seemed like Nyma took a page out of his book since he could see her bringing her spear back in a position to throw it. This brought another smile to his lips and he was so confident in his partner that he took a step back and decided to simply watch the events unfurl.

Nyma approached the throwing a lot better than he had, making sure to get a brief running start before launching the weapon at the critter. While he had been intending to track the spear to see if it flew true he was distracted by a strange sound. He turned his gaze towards the skies, as he wondered why in the world it sounded as if a pair of dice had been rolled.

He heard both the sound of the spear striking home as well as the frightened shrieking of the female spider’s young at the loss of their mother but he was unable to tear his gaze away from the heavens wanting to find the source. It was while he had his face turned upward that he saw two objects falling towards him. Due to the size of the objects they had already nearly reached him and he was unable to move before they hit his forehead and bounced to the ground.

A frown appeared on his lips as he rubbed his forehead. His eyes dropped down to look at the frightful looking dice. Before he could grab them they were scooped up by Nyma and he lifted his gaze to meet hers. Her words brought another smile to his lips as he claimed the dice from her.

Bringing his hand closer he started to examine the dice. It was immediately apparent that they were sturdy despite looking to be made of flesh, but what really caught his attention were the terrified looking faces that replaced the dots representing numbers. He didn’t get a chance to roll them as they were interrupted by the reappearance of Gird.

”I am happy to see that you have returned unscathed Gird! And I was just about to do that before you showed up!” Eager to find out what his gift could do he shook the dice before tossing them onto the ground.

Goblin Skrik

Skrik had succeeded again. His hand closed on the horn rather than the body but it turned out well as he dealt a mortal blow with precision and a managed to avoid injury as well. He had hunted by stealth. Now, he had hunted mostly by knowing his prey and making it attack. He breathed deeply and slowly, calming his mind from his earlier distressing moment of instability. It was one more thing that he needed to think about… later. For now, he had urgent work to do.

He used the same method to skin, clean and eat this horned rabbit as he had used before. In the end, only a few of the less useful organs remained after he ate the rest. He had much to think about and an ever growing list of things he wished to try but the sun had moved in the sky. It would likely be night all too soon. He did not know if the wolves that he had heard mentioned would wander this particular part of the forest at night but it would be foolish to be out here unprepared. He worked in the water first, using the stream to help him in scraping off the residual fat and flesh from the two hides. He also cleaned the skull of this second horned rabbit and knelt to bury it in the pebbles by the river.

“Let your strength draw others to water. Never go thirsty. Thank you.” Skrik whispered his prayer as he placed the last pebble over the skull of the brave creature that had been his prey.

He used the remaining inner bark as well, smashing and grinding it between two rocks until he had extracted the numbing oil from it. He placed the organs and scraps in this oil before using them to mark the base of a tree that stood out from the rest of the tree line by a few strides, leaving the bulk of them strewn around the base. With this done Skrik knew that time was limited. He had to move quickly before the scent attracted undue attention.

He hunted the tree line for saplings, seeking ones that were about as thick as his thumb and almost as long as his arm. His knife was sufficient to cut them off near the ground in just a couple strokes, though he knew its edge wouldn’t last forever. He quickly gathered a dozen like this as well as two that were a little thicker and almost as long as he was tall, at the shoulder at least. He would need a new weapon soon and a stout spear would do nicely, though a proper tip for it might take some looking. He also gathered small pebbles into one of the cleaned hides and made the other into a simple set of strips that he used to hoist the bag and cut saplings onto his back. It wouldn’t be a mighty arsenal, but it would allow him to make himself into quite the dangerous annoyance, at least.

When he had these gathered, he approached the tree that he had marked, hoisted his goods on his back using the crude harness, and examined it. The tree was old, its bark was thick and deeply marked with crevasses and there were many knots that stuck out where old limbs had died in years past. There were also ample strong limbs up out of easy reach, tangled together in places and interwoven with those of the tree closest to it. He began to climb. He used his sharp nails and long reach to his advantage but still took his time. He did not take chances and successfully reached the lowest of the strong limbs.

Then he looked down. It didn’t make him feel safe. But, he knew that most ground predators would not be able to effectively hunt prey that was in a tree. This place was his best bet. Still, while he had trapped the base of the tree, he had also baited the base of his refuge. It would be bad if the nocturnal predators came and decided to stick around because they saw him. He climbed higher but stuck with the strongest branches until he reached one that came within a stride of a strong limb of a neighboring tree. He was out of breath, getting a grip hadn’t been hard but lifting his own weight along with his rapidly growing number of possessions up the tree had taken a toll. He stopped for a moment and took stock of what he had and his surroundings.

He had a rabbit skin pouch that held the cleaned bones of both of his kills, as well as about 30 smooth pebbles, held on his back by a crude harness that was also supporting two stout saplings and a bundle of light saplings. His knife was tucked into his left wristband to free up his hands and claws for climbing. It looked like he still had an hour or so before sundown. He hoped it would be enough time. There was still one thing that he needed to bring up here. He sighed softly. This climbing would be good exercise but he’d be pretty tired afterward.

He placed the saplings in a place where two strong limbs emerged from the trunk at the same level. He then placed the pouch on the saplings, using them like a shelf. The harness he kept wrapped around him closely as he descended the tree again. It was a lot easier without having all that to carry and he knew where the hand and footholds were this time. Still, he was more comfortable on the ground. It was a pity that the ground would likely get him killed tonight if he stuck with it.

He quickly walked to the bank of the stream, keeping an extra careful eye out for any dangers since it was now only an hour or so before sunset. Once there, he found the stone that had the remaining numbing oil on it and took it to the tree line. There were some plants among the undergrowth that had large leaves and he picked a few, using them to wrap the stone and contain the viscous oil so that he could climb with it. He looked around quickly, checking to see if there were any trees in this area that looked the same as the numbing tree near the cave entrance and marking their locations in his mind if he found any. Then he returned to the tree he had baited, secured his last remaining possessions and climbed back up. It really was getting easier every time. Still, he had to move to a safer tree.

He left enough saplings to keep his makeshift shelf secure but took some of them with him and made his way along the limb to where the limb of the neighboring tree came closest. With great care, he crossed at this point and came closer to the second tree’s trunk. The branches of this tree were closer together and a few of them were draped in moss and vines. He found a place where several branches were close enough together for him to sit on one and lean against another with his feet on a third. He made a shelf from the saplings, much like the other tree and cleaned the moss and vines from these branches, gathering them together and placing the bundle on the new shelf along with the light flat rock wrapped in leaves that he was carrying. It didn’t take more than a moment to return the way he had come from and retrieve his pouch and the remaining saplings, moving them to his relatively safe perch in the second tree.

The sun was starting to set. Skrik took the vines that he had cleared and wound them around a couple of branches that were about a stride further up the tree than where he sat, forming a loose hammock between them and giving it a floor of moss and small branches that he claimed from nearby limbs. Removing these young branches also gave him a better view of the ground. Into this hammock he transferred the stout and light saplings, his pouch, the extra leaves that he hadn’t wrapped around the rock, and rock with the last of his numbing oil. Then, taking one stout sapling and a large leaf he placed the leaf across his lap and settled in for a long night.

He tried to stay focused, sharpening one end of the stout sapling to a point without compromising its strength before setting it aside, being careful to catch the shavings in the large leaf to avoid revealing his hiding place. Yet, he found his thoughts drifting toward less physical things. Life was a thing to treasure. Death was a thing to respect. Living things passed their strength to other living things but while most of this happened during the course of their lives, the full gift of strength only happened after death. Because living things needed strength from each other to survive they could not live alone. He looked around his memories, putting things in order as he finished turning the stout sapling into a short spear and began to sharpen the light saplings as well. The stout saplings would make for solid short spears, once he got the rest of what he needed to bind the horned rabbit horns to the shaft, and the light saplings would make good javelins once he finished sharpening them and coating the tips in numbing oil. Of course, they wouldn’t be very powerful weapons without a better tip but Skrik wasn’t really planning on using them tonight unless his plan went very well indeed.

His thoughts dwelt on the flow of strength between living things, as he worked. He thought more deeply, almost meditating as his hands crafted javelin after javelin. He lost track of time but felt that he was getting close to realizing something on the subject of flowing strength. He had felt something in his meditation but he wasn’t sure exactly what. His concentration failed when he ran out of javelins to sharpen. He then quickly and thoroughly poisoned the javelins and wrapped up the shavings in the large leaf, binding it shut with a short piece of vine and setting it in the hammock. Then he turned his attention to the ground and stilled his body into silence. He had the javelins in easy reach as well as his new spear and he replaced his knife in his wristband, just in case something went horribly wrong.

It was time to wait and watch.

The base of the first tree was baited with meat that had been poisoned with numbing sap. If the wolves were attracted to the bait and ate it, there was a chance that the sap would make them vulnerable and slow. If that happened, he might be able to kill one with thrown javelins before it could get away. If not, he would at least get a chance to observe the wolves and see whether the numbing sap was effective on them. If they didn’t even eat the bait, then he would know that it would take a better trap. However, he had used the last of his numbing sap stores to make the javelins. There was only a thin smear left on the rock. He would need to make a better way to carry such valuable materials.

With each step, he remained sure that the gods was protecting him. There was no shed of doubt to begin with, but after he felt the wind caressing him, a soft sigh came out, as with that he knew with even more certainty that Shirila was with him.

With a resolute look on his face, he kept walking towards the flower. Ready to uproot as soon as he reached it, who knows for how long it would be safe for the Child to remain back there? If it was hurt to that point, what would stop from other creatures as strong as itself to come and attack it?!

Hobgoblin Luz

@ReusableSword@Jangel13@Kheliop@Crusader Lord

As Luz rushed to take the spider on in a melee she cut down the webs that obstruct her path toward it which took longer then she would have thought. You know what didn't take longer than she thought, the smaller spiders which she heard coming. It was shocking to her, even she didn't she could kill this big spider with all the smaller spider around. "Shit! We need to get-" Luz was about to say "Outta here" When she saw something flies past her and had the spider screaming out in pain before it drops dead. Then all smaller spider started fleeing the scene now that they didn't have any leader, this was something she can confirm cause she no longer saw there aura.

All that had Luz at pause for about 3 seconds. "Well, that was something..." Luz said before holding up her thump. "Great job." Luz said kind of awkwordly. didn't know why she expects that spear to be impractical against it, maybe she overestimates it survivability for some reason(Cause it was an insect); Plus she had little faith in Nyma's spear would be enough to kill it. But she guesses this is what happens when you try to show off and underestimate those of a weaker species.

Luz then turns her attendance to Gird and looked Quite joyed to see him looking well. "Are you okay?" She asked him sounding a bit worried After he confirms this she would then sigh in relieve. "Geez that was pretty damn crazy what you did back there...I glad your alright" Luz said to him blushing a bit when she said that last part.

“I am curious as to why the gods pay so much attention to us. Barth, figure out what those dice do than assist Nyma with the spider.”

"Pfff i don't know, maybe we are just that damn good." Luz said kind of snarky like. "Either way; Nyma and Barth somehow did most of the work than me so those too should be allowed to pick what part they want first" Luz admitted calmly now knowing not to underestimate those two just cause they are still goblins. Gird then went to check and loot the nest so Luz thought it would be best to derust the rest of her sword while the group took a break. Luz picked up a rock and begin cleaning the rust of the sword start at the end of the blade before moving toward the other edge, then finally she begins cleaning the rest off cause she felt that just cleaning up the sharp and pointy parts of the blade was half-assing the job.

Once she was done, Luz felt like she had some time to spare so she messes around with her web-spinning ability. So she tried activating it by sticking out all her finger except her middle and ring finger which was press against her palm(Wink wink) But instead of coming out her wrist it instead came out her fingers covering her hand in sticky web, which hands her shaking her hand trying to get it off. She blushes a bit hoping no one saw before she rubbed the webbing off her hand using a tree. Afterward, she then practices with it a little to find it dare she say uncontrollable, but then again there could be a methond to it.

The goblins soon went to work dismantling the mother spider for each of them to use and figure out their new abilities. Barth had used his new set of dice and rolled them. He saw the roll appear on the spider's body but it was merely an image that only he could see as the dice kept rolling until finally, it landed on 5 one dice landed on one and the other on 4. The same number appeared on the spider and he soon felt his experience quadruple showing the number 4 increased his XP, however, the one dice screamed loud enough for them all to hear before the goblin felt a hard punch land on his stomach making him lose his breath. Clearly one is dangerous to gain and a voice whispered "There is danger whenever you roll. If you ever get dead eyes, you belong to me" the voice whispered before laughing manically once more. Clearly, if he ever got dead eyes (snake eyes or 1 and 1) something horrible would happen to him.

@Darked13

The goblin kept walking feeling the embrace of the goddess as he walked protecting him. Soon though he felt the flower touch his leg letting him know he finally got to it safely. The goddess then whispered "Faith will always be rewarded young one. Now grab the flower and hurry my child's life is ebbing away" she said in a somewhat worried tone as he soon saw the thorns he just passed through make a path for him the same way he came in. Now if he simply ran in a straight line out of the thorn bushes he will be safe.

@Guy0fV4lor

His sword soon hummed lightly as he offered prayer to the earth goddess. Then he heard Gatoven say "My mother has asked me to send you to the north towards the river. You will find a new sister in need of your protection" he ordered giving him his first joint task from both Shirila and Gatoven.

The hobgoblin stopped as he felt the flower by his feet, he carefully grabbed it, attempting to pull it along with its roots before glancing back the path he came. Seeing the path being clear, he nodded at himself and ran. He ran back with all his forces, draining whatever was left of the skull's energy so that he could quickly return to the Child. After all, if the goddess sounded worried, who knew how long the creature could survive without this flower?

Goblin - Kokulu

shortly after the rock was thrown only one went to go check much to her expectations but then a slightly familiar goblin came rushing out as she broke her from the bindings as she fell to the ground with a grunt, the height though short was not small. Upon hearing the voice it was one she was vaguely familiar with from back at the cave. Though she did not interact with the group she realized she must be from the save area she is. She got up quickly taking the cloth out of her mouth as she started making a dash out as the other goblin made her own dash towards the distracted troll. "Hey! Don't you die on me! I'm gonna have to repay you for this after all damn it!" she said rushing back into the wooded area.

As she did she made a rush into the woods as branches and leaves brushed past. After she made enough distance from the trolls as she thought she just as fast began looking through the wooded area for what she hoped would be other goblins. Since she said to get the help from the others she only wished that they were near where she ran off to. As she moved she glanced around and kept an eye on the ground for tracks, though she came across a few they were not ones of goblin kin. after she was in an area she was certain there was no predator animals within a close enough range she called out "Hey! any goblins that can hear me we need help!" she called out a few times as she moved a bit forward after each call.

Goblin Barth

Day Five

@Crusader Lord@Jangel13@demonspade64@ReusableSword

The moment that numbers began flashing upon the corpse of the recently slain spider Barth focused all of his attention on them. It finally settled on the number five with one die falling on one while the other landed on four. He felt a surge of power course through him and instinctively knew that it was due to rolling a four. Any elation he felt at this discovery was soon forgotten as he learned the consequences of rolling a one.

The single face shown let out a horrendous screech. If this had not been bad enough it was swiftly followed by the sensation of a fist burying itself into his stomach. This forced him to hunch over and begin gasping as he tried to recover the air that had just been knocked out of him. It was while he was trying to catch his breath that a voice appeared out of nowhere. Barth couldn’t help but grin at the words.

’It is going to take more than that to prevent me from using your gift. After all, there isn’t any fun in taking chances if there is no risk.

After his mental response he was breathing normally again. With the ordeal past he straightened up, having picked up the dice just prior to this, before turning towards the group. ”Well that was fun! Nothing like a punch in the gut to fire a goblin up.” His eyes shifted towards Nyma, flashing her a massive grin. ”See! I had a plan all along, with all those reckless chances I took. Figured I’d either die or catch someone’s attention.”

As the Hobgoblin half of their group went about their own business, Gird looting the nest while building himself some frightening armor and Luz set to work on making her blade prettier, he approached Nyma. Before doing anything else he took a moment to carefully spin himself a small sack out of his threads. It took a few tries due to the unpredictable nature of the silk, but eventually he accomplished it and placed his dice within the sack and attached it to his hip near the Alpha Rabbit Horn. With that taken care of he slowly made his way around the mother spider’s nest, hoping his lucky streak would continue and he would find something of use.

”So, what’s next on the agenda gang?” He called out to the others while continuing his search.

Hogoblin Zats

The beetle's meat tasted as bad as he imagined, but Zats still ate until he was full. Afterwards he resumed his trek the forest, this time looking for Gina again. Since he still wanted to drag his catch's carcass back to the church later he used his spear to leave marks in the ground to find his way back to it.

After he walked around for a while heard someone yelling for help. He did his best to run in the direction it came from, though the tree's made it hard to run in a straight line. Eventually though he arrived at the scene of the incident and saw some strange female Goblin, not realizing he had seen her in the cave before. Not too interested in helping a total stranger who, as far as he knew, wasn't even of his tribe and might be luring him in a trap, he tried to conceal himself in a bush before she saw him.

Hobgoblin Ren
Quest from the gods/// Early Afternoon // Day 5

@Jangel13@kuroku@Wildman13

"As you command my Lord."
Hearing the will of his god through the Wolfblade, Ren cracked a smile; hopefully completing this task would get him considered for apostleship.  However, since this task involved helping some of his fellow goblins, the disciple of Gatoven knew he would need to disguise himself in order to continue the act he had going.

Finding a nearby tree with bark that was an even mx of  hard, thick, and flexible, Ren used his sword to quickly cut off a large slab. Cutting two holes for his eyes, the ingenuitive goblin began cutting, and bending the slab into the shape of a helmet (one that still concealed his face). Once the helmet's shape was done, Ren cut several pairs of small holes in the helm before tying them together with his previously made rope in order for his helmet to hold it's shape.

Tying what little rope was left over around his wrist, Ren hastily equipped his helmet and slathered his body in a dark mud, concealing any trace of his steel grey skin from sight.

With his disguise made, Ren took off North as fast as he could, still making sure his canine companion could keep up.  It didn't take long before he heard another voice calling for help. As he drew closer, Ren noticed that it was a she-goblin that he hadn't previously met, and in the distance he could hear fighting.  Sprinting past the distressed small one, Hobgoblin Gina; the apostle of Shirila, fighting a pair of beastly humanoid monsters came into view.

Without hesitation, Ren charged into battle, whispering a silent prayer to Gatoven as he planted his shoulder square into the ribs of the monster currently fighting Gina in an attempt to stagger the beast.
