Luthor has a strong resemblance to his infamous father, with the same strong jaw and high cheekbones. He is also tall, standing at 6'2 and has a powerful, athletic build sculpted by intense physical training and the rigors of combat. Luthor's skin is also sun-bronzed, a testament to his Mediterranean heritage and active lifestyle, but is still youthfully smooth. Unlike his father, Luthor's eyes are a striking aquamarine evoking the sea rather than the famous light green. His hair, shortly cut, is a dark blonde instead of auburn and he wears a closely trimmed beard.

His Perseus persona features a form-fitting jumpsuit of Kryptonian make. The suit is dark purple in color and features a golden stylized Gorgon's head on his chest. The outfit also features black boots and gloves and a translucent helmet that can materialize from the outfit and also take on an ornate golden appearance. The suit is rounded out by a golden cape draped over one shoulder.

- Like his father and siblings, Perseus has a genius-level intelligence and an eidetic memory. He was classically educated and has a wide-ranging knowledge of art, history, philosophy, and literature. He has two doctorates, one in psychology and the other in Metahuman studies. Perseus is thus an expert in psychological examination and is able to evaluate and form countermeasures against virtually all documented metahuman archetypes. Perseus is also fluent in English, German, Italian, Greek, Latin, and Kryptonese.

- Unlike his father or brother, Perseus has embraced the idea of empowering himself beyond human limits. While Perseus trained himself to peak physical perfection, he augmented his impressive physicality even further with genetic augmentation. Perseus is stronger than ten men is faster and more agile than the most fleet Olympian athletes, is able to run for four days without sleep, and is catch arrows in-flight. Perseus' skin and bones were also toughened, making him more resistant to blunt trauma. His senses have also been heightened, allowing him to perceive the infrared spectrum among other superhuman feats of perception. Perseus is able to resist toxins that would kill normal humans and recovers from serious wounds more quickly and comprehensively than is mortally possible. He will likely live far beyond a hundred, perhaps even two.

- Perseus is also an incredibly-skilled hand-to-hand combatant. He trained at a young age under the tutelage of Mercy Graves and upon joining the Titans, sparred with members of the Bat Family. He was beaten several times, but has only improved over time. Upon becoming a full-fledged Leaguer, he is widely recognized as one of the League's top melee fighters, even besides his enhancements. Perseus is an expert in several martial arts styles but and his true mastery lies in boxing, wrestling, blade combat, and spear and shield techniques.
Perseus' mental fortitude is likewise formidable, allowing him to ignore extremes of temperature or pain that would debilitate lesser men.

- His daily equipment includes a mono-molecular knife that can extend into a spear with a taser attachment. On his forearm is a gauntlet that can extend into a carbon nanotube shield that protects against projectile weaponry, explosions, and energy weapons. Perseus' nano-gloves allow him to scale sheer surfaces while his mag-boots allow him to fight effectively in zero-g environments. Perseus is also an expert marksman, especially with handguns, but does not include firearms in his daily arsenal.

- Despite his enhancements, Perseus is far from the mightiest of the metahumans. His augments allow him to compete head-to-head with the likes of Batman or Deathstroke, but they are woefully inadequate against his Kryptonian allies and those in their weight-class. It is also an exaggeration of the media when he is said to dodge bullets. Rather Perseus can track movements of the gun barrel and thus avoid it.

- Perseus' shield can protect against small-arms fire well enough, but more powerful weaponry could pierce or even collapse the shield, forcing the gauntlet to fabricate it once more. And though he is more resistant to physical damage, Perseus is still mortal. Blades will still cut him and bullets will still harm him. He is able to shrug off severe wounds for a time due to adrenaline and his enhanced physiology, but a bullet in the gut is just as serious to him as a normal human if left untreated. Perseus' healing ability also only applies in the long-term, and doesn't help with wounds on the battlefield. He also has no special protection against magic or psychic attack besides an incredibly strong will.

Albert Luthor was the eldest son and firstborn child to Alexander Luthor II, better known as Lex Luthor and his one-time wife Eris Alexandra Pallas, the Countess. Lex and Eris had an extremely volatile relationship, one moment completely in love and the next at each other's threats. They separated while Albert, his brother Alex, and his sister Lena were still young. They would spend an equal amount of time growing up in Metropolis and Athens. Albert was taught all the intricacies of business and developed a keen interest in astronomy and athletics under his father. His mother immersed him in a world of mythology and literature, studying the Greek philosophers and the Romantic poets. He became a lover of art, music, and theatre. Both of his parents taught him how to manipulate people, how to dominate them, how to intimidate. Albert grew to have deep respect and love for both of his parents, though both often tried to put him against the other.

Lex Luthor had long lived with the spectre of scandal looming over him. He was a public critic of Superman and all costumed heroes, and was on numerous occasions tied to criminal conspiracies. However, most of the charges never stuck and he was only imprisoned once. He would soon be pardoned for his help in defeating the Justice Lords when they temporarily disabled the Justice League, publicly teaming up with Superman and even going on to join the Justice League as a member for a time. His public image was restored, and his supposed criminal activities became ever more elusive. During a period of seeming amity with his former rivals, Lex made a grand gesture of producing a young Albert for membership in the Teen Titans. Albert was accepted but was not welcomed by most. In a team of outcasts, loners, mavericks, and rejects, Albert was still an outsider. The son of a supervillain. Albert, who somehow maintained a strong sense of justice and idealism despite his parents, was at first vehemently opposed to the idea that his father was the criminal people said he was. He was distrusted and ostracized. But as he spent more time with the Titans a mutual respect grew between them as they risked their lives to save one another on multiple occasions. He would grow to be especially close to Lara Kent, the future Supergirl, though he never warmed to her older brother Jon.

Eventually, Perseus would grow to be a trusted member of the team, even if those in the Justice League had their reservations. And all the while, his father asked him for updates on the team's operations through a hidden communicator. To Albert it seemed like innocuous material and his father justified it by saying that even the heroes were not above the law and that someone should be holding them accountable, that the intelligence would be passed on to the authorities to ensure the heroes were acting within the law. Albert believed him. Until one day, when Albert had graduated into the Justice League and firmly established himself, a mission that Albert had described some details of was compromised and several members of the team were severely injured. Their target had also somehow gotten possession of Kryptonite. Though his father denied it, Albert suspected that Lex had informed the villains of the mission. In his heart, he knew that everything said about his father was true.

Though he never had a public falling out with Lex, Albert became less and less visible in Lexcorp functions and devoted more and more time to heroics. He stopped referring to himself as Albert Luthor in public and went solely by his heroic alias, Perseus. It came as little surprise then when Lex named Albert's younger and even more prodigious brother Alex to the position of COO, effectively making Alex the heir apparent to LexCorp and the Luthor fortune instead of Albert. Perseus seemed to take the snubbing in stride and became a spokesperson for the Justice Foundation, a consortium of corporations and non-profit organizations that supported and augmented the Justice League's operations. He has proved to be a polarizing figure in the Justice League with an equal amount of friends and admirers as well as detractors and rivals. His charm and dependability won over many while others were put off by his overconfidence that bordered on arrogance, his sometimes ruthless methods, and his name. Despite all this, Perseus has come to be recognized as one of the premier figures of the modern League, and a face of the new generation of heroes.

During the E-Day attacks, Perseus was a strong stabilizing element. He worked tirelessly to help organize the resistance to the Legion's attacks and fought where the chaos and carnage was worst. He saw many friends maimed, comrades killed, and civilians slaughtered. His resolve only deepened. Though he seethed with fury, he was one of the driving voices for the summit to negotiate a cease-fire. Perseus was one of the Leaguers to sign the Armistice, and his father and brother both signed as supposed independent witnesses. He knew the truth, that they were as much responsible for the destruction and death as figures like Black Adam or Queen Bee were. It was a hardened Perseus that returned to duty. Perseus remains determined to keep the bloodshed from spilling over once more, believing that the Legion can be overturned with surgical precision rather than all-out war. And yet Perseus is also fast growing into an advocate of the idea that the League should take an even more active role in world affairs, as the failures of mundane government abound. Perseus perceives that divisions are fast growing in the Justice League, and it is his fear that the League that he loves will tear itself asunder along with the world should war break out once more. He is resolved to do everything he can to stop either from occurring.

- Perseus is pansexual and polyamorous, having had rumored liaisons with several prominent costumed heroes and villains. It is whispered that he is currently romantically involved Lara Kal-El, the current Supergirl and sister to the current Superman.

Like his father, Alex's eyes are bright green, framed by prominent eyebrows that always seem to have a slight arch of superiority to them. His hair is a curled vivacious auburn as Lex's was before he lost it. He even has the same aquiline nose. Alex's skin has a youthful cream tone to it however and his jawline and cheekbones are even sharper and more angular than his father's. And while he is of a height with his father and brother Alex does not have the same broad, muscled frame and instead possesses the wiry, whipcord muscles of a marathon runner.

As Argonaut, Alexander dons an incredibly advanced golden power armor suit. The suit is broader-shouldered and taller, putting the wearer on par with the likes of Superman in physical formidability. The Argonaut armor is sleek and seamless, with no visible separation of plates. The helmet is an energy-based visor similar to Perseus' that manifests itself in a beautiful golden face devoid of any human emotion. A white emblem in the form of the Vergina Sun is carved onto the suit's chest.

- The Argonaut armor is an incredibly advanced piece of technology, reverse-engineered from recovered Kryptonian warsuits with added LexCorp innovations. The armor is powered by a fusion core that provides it with nearly limitless energy. The warsuit has a highly advanced array of sensors and scanners as well as cyberwarfare programs that allow him to access and hack into almost any system both wirelessly and through direct interface. The warsuit's communication system includes holographic display systems and allows him to connect with LexCorp's vast satellite network. The warsuit contains Kryptonian propulsion systems that allow Argonaut to reach flight speeds exceeding Mach 20 while in orbit. The Lexos AI provides real-time strategic feedback to Argonaut and assists him in the operation of the suit. The Argonaut warsuit is made from Kryptonian alloys and is thus invulnerable to small-arms fire and is heavily resistant to all manner of weapons, these defenses are further augmented by a layer of powerful energy shielding that helps protect the wearer from energy and ballistic weapons. If the armor is damaged, nanomachine repair systems can knit the armor back together with the repair time depending on the severity of damage.

- With special lenses, the Argonaut warsuit can project solar energy as both a utility tool and weapon, and can even be focused into red sun energy in order to weaken Kryptonians. The beam can be a devastating blast or a tight focused beam. The energy can even be projected as hot plasma in a flame-thrower like effect from retractable wrist-mounted nozzles on the armor's gauntlets. The shoulders of the warsuit can fire mini-missiles that separate into cluster explosives that are strong enough to pierce tank armor while being powerful enough to decimate a rifle company. The warsuit's gloves can emit a powerful electrical charge. A variety of self-propelling smart-bombs which can lock on to targets are belted around the armor's waist. The Argonaut suit gives the wearer super-human strength, allowing them to rip apart tanks. The last of the warsuit's weapons is a hidden monomolecular wrist-blade tipped with Kryptonite.

- Even more potent than Alexander's warsuit is his genius intellect. Though his IQ has never been released to the public, many members of the scientific community have commented that Alexander may be even smarter than his legendary father with an almost machine-like mind. His intelligence borders in the realm of superhuman. Alexander demonstrates the ability to seamlessly perform multiple complex tasks simultaneously and has a perfect eidetic memory. He is a polymath with expertise in biochemistry, engineering, computer science, mathematics, astrophysics, and psychology. Alexander furthermore had the same classical education of his siblings but is more linguistically skilled as he is fluent in English, German, French, Arabic, Mandarin Chinese, Russian, Italian, Greek, Spanish, Latin, Elvish, High Atlantean, Standard Martian, and Kryptonese. Alexander's senses are much keener and his reflexes much faster than any normal human, purely due to his superior intelligence. He is able to learn complex skills and analyse complicated problems much quicker and more comprehensively than the average person. Alexander's mind is so sophisticated, and his mastery of it so absolute that he is even able to dampen pain, regulate his internal body temperature, slow down his heartbeat,
and spike his adrenaline in order to quicken his reactions.

Despite the Argonaut warsuit's power, it is not nearly as powerful as any superhuman strongman. Argonaut can flip over a tank and can go toe-to-toe with a Kryptonian if he had to, but he is still outclassed in terms of physical strength against Superman and his ilk. The Argonaut suit is sturdy as well, but it has it's limits. It could take a direct punch from Superman's fist, but not without collapsing the shields. Further hits would damage the armor itself. Analogous damage would have the same effect. And though his energy attacks have virtually unlimited power, Argonaut runs the risk of overheating the suit and must allow his laser projectors to cool down. The cool down period depends upon the severity of the usage. Finally, the suit would be overwhelmed by a significantly powerful EMP blast, which would shut down it's systems for a period as it reboots. A brilliant enough hacker or technopath could also breach the suit's security and it has no defense against magic.

Outside of the suit, Alexander is a genius, but still a mortal man. And an arrogant, occasionally neurotic, one at that.

Alexander Luthor III was born the third child and second son of Lex Luthor and Eris Pallas. He was born during a time of strife in his parent's marriage, and it is likely that he was named Alexander as much to spite his mother as it was to honor his father. He had much the same childhood as his siblings, but little details are known. Lex Luthor went to great lengths to keep details of his family out of the public eye, but rumors spread from Luthor estate workers tell tales of a brilliant but cold, haughty, and troubled youth. He was known for his ingenuity however, and his childhood innovations and inventions in computer technology and robotics were often displayed at LexCorp galas. were often the pride of LexCorp Unlike his siblings, Alexander was not frequently seen in public functions for most of his life, only entering notability once he graduated from Metropolis University and assumed a position as COO of LexCorp.

Alexander has never been outed as the Legionary Argonaut, but his identity is assumed from covert intel and psychological analysis. It can be surmised that Lex Luthor groomed all of his children to be formidable both mentally and physically, but Lex went further with his second son. Instead of encouraging his involvement in the Justice League, Lex Luthor trained him to use a warsuit and made sure that he shared the same loathing of Superman and the same yearning for mastery and dominance. In public, Alexander puts on a charming and amiable facade, but the true Alexander is ambitious, cold, manipulative, cunning, and ruthless. He sees most people as tools rather than living beings, and has an almost complete disregard for life. He is a suspected sociopath and often displays cruel and sadistic behavior, with a macabre sense of humor. And yet Alexander does believe himself to be in the right, and that it is the Luthor family's vision that is best for humanity. The Justice League is an obstacle and the other members of the Legion of Doom are a necessary evil to achieve his father's true goals. And his own.

For unknown reasons, Alexander is known to have an intense rivalry with his brother Albert. The exact reasoning for this is unknown, and neither have spoken of it. Alexander share's his father's complicated relationship with Countess, both loving and despising his mother. Even his father, whom he is devoted to, is not on overtly friendly terms with Alexander. Alexander heeds his father and looks up to him, but there is still resentment and scorn for certain aspects of his upbringing. The only fully positive relationships he seems to have in his family are with his cousin Natalia Luthor, by Lex's sister Lena, and his half-sister Hope, the daughter of exiled Amazon Mercy Graves. His own full-blood sister, Lena, Alexander seems to have been estranged with following her marriage to Jonathon Kent and the birth of their child. Alexander has very few companions besides his cousin and half-sister, as he is extremely reluctant to trust anyone.

- Alexander has a cult following of supporters and fans due to his active social media presence and the amiable image that presents him as a progressive tech magnate for social change and good works.

Frank has a striking look, something of an impediment in his line of work. Frank inherited his father's strawberry blonde hair, which he wears short. He has his mother's smooth caramel skin, and both of his parents icy-blue eyes. Frank has the same rugged handsomeness one might see in a classic Hollywood detective, with strong features and a subdued intensity of countenance. He stands at 5'9 with the subtly muscled physique of a man who has been training in hand to hand combat all of his life. A nasty scar runs down one side of his face, a knife slash that runs vertically down under his right eye and across his lip. Frank seems to have a perpetual layer of stubble and despite surgery, a keen eye can detect a hint that his nose has been broken at least once.

As the new Question, he combines the color schemes of both of his parents. His hat, leather overcoat, and pants are the signature dark blue. But Frank's button-down shirt is a royal purple while his vest, tie, gloves, and shoes are black. In contrast to his father's traditional style, the new Question's garments of a a sleeker, more modern cut. Like his father, the Question persona has dark black hair and an uncanny flesh-toned mask that conceals all of his features.

- Nicholas was trained from a young age in hand-to-hand combat and while he is not among the Justice League's most skilled melee fighters, he is still a formidable opponent and is more than able to hold his own in a fight. What he may lack in the natural talent and dedicated mastery, he makes up for in experience and improvisation. Nicholas is versed in a variety of Eastern styles as well as boxing and wrestling, and frequently makes use of his weaponry to grant him an edge. It is suggested that Question may be a minor metahuman and possesses enhanced stamina, strength, and agility but he has not yet displayed any feats that are not within the realm of human ability albeit peak human.

- His equipment includes a coat lined with hidden pockets that can hide several odds and ends and is inlaid with carbon weaves that protect him from blades and provide resistance the small arms. His shirt is made from a similar material. His weaponry includes a pair of synth-metal knuckles, a Swiss Army Knife, a monomolecular switchblade and push dagger, a taser baton, and a semi-automatic heavy pistol on a shoulder holster. His tie is also made of an incredibly hardy synth-fabric and can be used as a garrote. Like any self-respecting mystery man, Nicholas carries smoke grenades to obscure his location and aid quick escapes. Nicholas is also an expert driver, especially on his personal hoverbike.

- The Question is one of the Justice League's top detectives. He is shrewd, cunning, and relentless in his investigations. He has an almost uncanny instinct for promising leads, and is a master of interrogation, able to discern falsehood from truth with amazing accuracy. Whether through intimidation or through guile, the Question is almost always able to get the information that he wants. Perhaps his greatest asset as a detective is his willingness to pursue even the most outlandish and implausible hypotheses, ones that most rational people would dismiss out of hand. Question is also a master hacker, able to break into almost any system, and is well-versed in all the forensic sciences, and he wears a VR contact lens to help him identify and analyze evidence.

- Though a hero, Question knows all the skills of a master thief, and is able to move quickly and quietly and can break in to nearly any place he shouldn't be, as true mystery man should. He is also a deft pickpocket and a prodigy of disguise, able to take on a variety of identities with the use of pseudoderm masks along with convincing accents and body language. Question carries a variety of pre-crafted Pseudo-faces in his coat and is also able to use spare material as a bandage in case of injury. His own blank Pseudoderm mask includes a filter that helps protect him from gas attacks. He carries a special gas that helps attach the mask to his face and can change the color of his hair. A second spray removes the mask and dye.

Despite his resourcefulness and tenacity, the Question is still just a mortal man and has the vulnerabilities of one. He is stronger than most, swifter than most, more tireless than most. But he is nowhere near as powerful as the vast majority of superhumans are. Furthermore, Question's outfit gives him a limited degree of protection from small arms fire, but sustained fire or sufficient force will still pierce the material. Question also cannot make new masks in the field and has to construct it with pseudoderm in a lab before he can use it. Beyond possible enhanced physical traits and perhaps his keen intellect, he possesses no special superhuman abilities.

Nicholas Aristotle Sage, was born the first and only child of Vic Sage and Helena Bertinelli, the Question and the Huntress. Any hope his parents might have possessed for their son to have a normal life away from the path of a hero doomed from the start by Nicholas' close friendship with other children of costumed heroes, particularly those of the Wayne family and their allies. They all played at being brave warriors and champions, just like their parents, and they all dreamed of action and adventure. As one of the so-called Justice Heirs, Nicholas wanted for absolutely nothing in life. His parent's salaries as Leaguers, supplemented by his father's PI business and his mother's security consulting, afforded him a comfortable upbringing. He grew up in a upscale high-rise apartment in downtown Gotham, one of many self-sustaining environmentally conscious buildings erected by Wayne Industries. His father never trusted public education and wanted to homeschool Nicholas, but his mother eventually persuaded, or intimidated, Vic into agreeing to Nicholas being enrolled at Gotham Academy, with many of his eventual heroic comrades.

Nick received a world-class education, but due to his parent's skepticism for authority, Nick was something of a rebellious though accomplished student. He and his schoolmates followed in their parent's footsteps from an early age, embarking on precocious investigations into mysteries and scandals that uncovered shocking secrets and often involved great danger. For his friends, they were great adventures, but they signified more to Nick. They told him that nothing was as it appeared, that there were vast conspiracies and shadowy forces at work in the world, and that the truth needed to come to light. The fact that he grew up with aliens and magical beings only inflamed his almost obsessive find to the find "the truth" in the world in order to truly deliver justice. And he did believe in justice. He spent too much time with Leaguers to believe otherwise. He just had much more unconventional views on it. For his parents' part, after they found out that Nick, Helena Wayne, and others managed to uncover an artifact smuggling ring during a school trip when he was 10, they decided the best thing was to train him.

Nicholas was trained in martial arts since he was a young child, but his training took on a new tempo when it was clear that he was set on joining the Justice League. His father and mother personally instructed him in every skill he would need as a professional hero. He learned surveillance and interrogation techniques, acrobatic maneuvers and survival skills, hacking and forensic sciences. Fighting most of all. He joined the Teen Titans at 13 under the codename of Deus Ex, as his first costume had included a more traditional black jumpsuit with a skull half-mask, inspired by his mother's tenure training operatives for the now defunct covert agency Spyral. As Deus Ex, he became fast friends with many who are now the faces of the Justice League. He became even closer to one Mary Bradley Kane aka Hawkfire, the daughter of Slam Bradley Jr. and Bette Kane, niece of the first Batwoman Kathy Kane and the current holder of the mantle. Nick had been childhood friends with Mary due to his father's close partnership with Renee Montoya who married Kathy Kane, Kane further being a friend and comrade of his mother.

It was during their years in the Teen Titans while Mary was known as Redhawk, that the two became even closer. Initially, Nick became romantically involved with his friend Helena, then Batgirl, but he had always had feelings for Mary. Eventually however, Nick and Helena mutually agreed that they were better as friends and amicably ended the relationship. As a Titan, Deus Ex never stopped trying to delve to the heart of secret conspiracies, and even uncovered a few, though his somewhat outlandish hypotheses and rather eccentric methods raised eyebrows among his teammates. However their team would prove extremely successful and gain both admiration from those in the field and acclaim from the public, and Deus Ex proved himself many times as a worthy hero and detective.

Deus Ex was 18 when he joined the Justice League as a member of their investigation division as well as field operations, partnering with his parents on many occasions. He continued to work with Mary until finally confessing his feelings to her. They began dating and eventually both spent most of their free time on Astrapolis, living in quarters that had been set aside for Leaguers. Many in their generation came to spend their leave in orbit more than they did on Earth. After a few years of living together, the pair were engaged. They were married in a Catholic ceremony in Gotham, a private affair that Nicholas nearly missed due to his belief that the Spanish Inquisition had returned and that he had to stop them before they sabotaged his wedding. The pair would go on to have three children, two girls and a boy. They married within the community, did so early, and had children early, all common for superheroes.

Nicholas, was happy. But for the next few years, his investigations and inquiries took strange turns. Dead ends and vanished leads, all in disparate mysteries that even his intuition and intellect couldn't connect. He ignored the enigmas, finally putting it down to coincidence rather than conspiracy due to the lack of concrete evidence or clear motive. Nicholas only knew the truth when it was too late. He had almost stumbled onto the Legion's E-Day invasion plans. And as cities burned and people died, it all became clear to him. During the violence, Renee Montoya was severely injured and Nicholas took up his father's mantle as the Question. With his undercover investigative skills, he brought several criminals to justice who had been involved in the planning and operation of E-Day, winning renown in the process.

As Question, Nicholas has become one of the Justice League's most valuable undercover operatives and investigators. But those close to him note that he carries great guilt for the events of E-Day and Renee's injury. Irrationally, Nicholas believes that it was his failure to connect the dots of the conspiracy that led to so much carnage and death. Since that infamous day, Question swore that he would not let such a failure happen again. His personal relationships with both his friends and family have been strained in recent days due to his workaholic nature, but he has been instrumental in the Justice League's cold war against the Legion.

- One of the Question's closest friends in the League is the second Huntress, Helena Wayne. Nick's mother was both namesake and godmother to Helena, due to his mother nearly dying to protect Selena Kyle during the pregnancy. The two later became mentor and apprentice, forming such a close bond that after Helena "graduated" as Batgirl, she took up the name Huntress.
- Question collaborates closely with the current Nemesis, Julia Tresser, who is the daughter of Thomas Tresser and Cassandra Sandsmark. Nemesis utilizes Question's pseudoderm tech for her covert work, as her father did with his own father.
- Question's middle name is in reference to Aristotle Rodor, who was an ally of his father and helped him prepare the Pseudoderm masks.
- Nicholas' former alias of Ghost is taken from the phrase, "Ghost in the Machine", symbolizing his lifelong belief in some shadowy entity directing the course of history. Ghost is now the codename for Question's protege.
- His father was raised Eastern Orthodox and his mother was raised Catholic, but neither were particularly devout. He was baptized more as a precaution against demonic possession, an actual possibility, than anything else. Nicholas believes in the existence of the Abrahamic God, he'd be foolish not to considering he is acquainted with both angels and demons, but pays him no particular reverence.

I’m not describing myself. Why? Because I'm not a douchebag, that's why. Just look at the photo up top. What? I can’t remember where it was taken, some Wayne Foundation charity gala probably. Those things are a dime a dozen. Ironically.

What does the Flamebird suit look like? Not much to tell, really. It’s a dark crimson body suit with a crimson domino mask and a giant gold phoenix emblazoned on the chest. Exciting, I know. Imagine a colour-swapped Nightwing costume, and you’ve just about got it.

Wow, you really want me to list them all? Skills, and equipment? How much time have you got? Because if you’ve got anywhere to be in, oh I don’t know, the next week, you don’t have enough. And that’s not me being arrogant, or at least not intentionally.

See, you’ve got to bear in mind that I’m a bat-brat. Second generation, sure, but we all go to the same Bat-cave prep school. We’re the swiss army knives of vigilantes, what we don’t know isn’t worth knowing. The family's been doing this for a few decades now, and we've got the training regime down to a fine art. Ideal results, every time. Bonafide peak human/borderline super-people, or your money back. We’re taught martial arts, investigation skills, stealth techniques, advanced sciences, advanced driving, advanced catering - ok, that one was all Alfred, but still, surprisingly useful. Our unspoken motto is to prepare for everything, and brother, we take it seriously. If we didn’t what right would we have to stand alongside the Supermen and Wonder Women of our world? None, is the succinct answer.

So yeah, lets you and I save some time, and have you just assume that any skill that jumps to mind when you think ‘I bet a regular guy would need to know how to do this to just have a hope of hanging with the Legion of Doom when they start getting world conquer-y’, I know.

As for equipment, picture the best that money can buy. That’s the kind of stuff I carry. The best armour, the coolest gadgets, the sharpest weaponry. Again, not trying to sound arrogant, but I’m the freaking James Bond of superheroes, so you better believe I’ve got an exploding pen or two hidden up my sleeves. Along with several throwing knives, a grapple gun, smoke bombs, shark repellent ...

Seriously, we've got all the wonderful toys.

Bullets. Knives. Poisons. Gluten … look, is this necessary, because it feels pretty freaking morbid. I’m just a regular dude, most things kill me. Use your imagination, God damn.

Richard Grayson. Barbara Gordon. Better known to the world at large as Nightwing and Batgirl. You know the names, you know who they are. We all do. Well what you might not know is that Nightwing and Batgirl fell for one another – perhaps not all that surprising considering that when they first met they were just kids, and you know what happens when you couple a teenager’s raging hormones with intense, high octane situations like getting shot at and fighting colourful super criminals.

So followed a long and storied on-again, off-again romance. There were a few bumps in the road for the couple – including, but not limited to Dick getting involved with a smoking hot alien princess that resulted in a Tamarian/human hybrid love child – but the two bat-brats were fighters through and through, and they never fought harder than when they were fighting for one another.

Eventually they managed to force the pieces to fall in to place, which resulted in the kind of storybook wedding you can only read about in pulp fiction novels and comic books (Seriously, Poison Ivy transformed the bouquet into a flower golem and made it attack the wedding guests, while the Joker masqueraded as a catholic priest to marry the happy couple. I’ve seen the wedding videos. It was crazy.) Not half a year later the Grayson’s embarked upon what they would later describe as their greatest and most challenging adventure: Parenthood.

That’s where I come in … I just realised, I forgot to introduce myself, didn’t I? Well, no time like the present, I guess. James Alfred Grayson’s the name. James, not Jim. Let’s be very clear on that.

Anyway, as you might guess I didn’t quite have the typical childhood. My grandad was freaking Batman after all. Don’t get me wrong, I was a happy enough lil guy, and there’s nothing quite like getting a katana for Christmas from uncle Damian, but I was always very aware that mine wasn’t the standard experience. Mom and dad were always very up front with me with who they were, and while Mom slowed down the vigilantism - taking on a backseat role as the resident computer wizard for the bat-family and Justice League so as to have more time to spend with her little guy - they would both still disappear for weeks, sometimes months at a time with very little explanation, fighting off outer-dimensional incursions or cosmic tyrants.

Don’t even get me started on all the birthdays they missed because of Infinite Crises.

As I grew older I started to become aware that there were certain ‘expectations’ of me that didn’t seem to apply to my peers. For example, most pre-teens have to cut the lawn and take out the trash to earn their allowance. I had to learn the twenty-three most effective ways to disarm an armed assailant, and the best ways to escape from standard issue handcuffs … while underwater.

Those extra-curricular activities seemed to get more and more comprehensive until one day, without really realising that it had happened, I was wearing a cape and mask, a yellow ‘R’ on my chest, and spending a lot more time brooding on rooftops than is probably healthy for a sixteen-year-old. Hey, I’m not saying it wasn’t interesting, most kids would have killed to be in my pixie boots, but it’s a lot to put on a kid, the weight of the world on their scrawny shoulders, when they should still be chasing girls and squeezing pimples.

All that said, I think I turned out alright. I mean, I wouldn’t be all that surprised if I was the first member of the bat-family to wind up in therapy, but all things considered, I think I’m doing fine. (In case you’re wondering, I am, of course, joking. Us cape and cowl types aren’t allowed to visit shrinks. It makes us seem too human. Nobody want’s their superhero to be, y’know, a flawed human being. It kills the power fantasy. Besides, the shrink always turns out to be some Hugo Strange-style super-villain, and just uses the opportunity to try and brainwash us into becoming their own personal attack dog. Every. Freaking. Time.)

Eventually I upgraded from the chainmail speedos to tights and an alter-ego of my very own, one that wasn’t just a hand me down from dear old dad. And with that Firebird was born. I picked an inauspicious time to graduate to my big boy pants though, as the very next month the Legion made their big play for world domination. I was still a Titan back then – a real one, I mean, not one of those kids they churn through the Academies nowadays – and spent the first two days fighting alongside my team. Wonder Girl, Kid Flash, Vulkan, Damage, Spitfire, Bloom, Blue Paladin. Nightstar – my half-sister – had recently left the team to join the Justice League proper, which had left yours truly in charge. Something about being a part of the Bat-family always seems to automatically propel you into a leadership position whenever the super-teams get together, regardless of whether you’ve earned the spot or not.

We … We lost a lot of good people. Too many, seems like now.

I struggle to remember all the details now. I look back, and all I get are fragments. Sharp, jagged, shards of memory. I go back to them now and then, and if I’m not careful they cut me. Funny that, don’t you think? You’d imagine memories like that would get less painful with time, that if you handle them enough you’d eventually start to round-over all those sharp corners. Never works like that though. If anything, I’ve just sharpened them, honed the edges until they’re razor.

Look, I’m going to move on, ok? Ok.

When things started to settle down I could have really used a vacation from the superhero biz. I mean, I deserved one, right? I’d just been fighting on the frontlines of World War Three, only instead of jackbooted teenagers with pip-pip machineguns I was fighting power-ring wielding Yellow Lanterns and dudes who could lift buses over their head while blowing lighting out their noses. Stressful doesn’t even begin to cover it. Well, the battle might have been over, but the war was just beginning, so unfortunately for Ol’ James here any and all time off had been cancelled for the foreseeable future. There was just too much to do, and not enough time to do it in.

Not enough people to do it, either, as it turned out. All that fighting had left the League’s ranks with more holes to fill than a good Swiss cheese, so I suddenly found myself thrust into the big Leagues. For a while I went wherever I was needed (which felt like everywhere at the time). Like I mentioned earlier being a part of the Bat-family, even as junior a part as me, lends you an authority that people automatically respect, and seeing as gramps was getting a touch long in the tooth to be personally handling every Legion related disturbance that cropped up, it came down to the rest of us young’uns to handle the day to day shenanigans, so he and the other big-heads could deal with the major stuff.

It all suited me fine really. I’ve since come to terms with the fact that I’m not comfortable making the big decisions. Having so many people dependent on you, on the choices you make, that’s just too much responsibility for me. Batman has to be in charge, Nightwing was born to fly, but me, James Grayson, I prefer having my boots on the ground. I guess I get that from the Grandpa Jim. Sure, he’s mayor of Gotham city now, but I think in his heart he’ll always be a beat-cop, a regular guy who does what he knows in his heart is right. It might surprise you to know that in my darkest moments I ask myself “what would Jim do” long before I start wondering how Batman would handle the situation.

See, that's the thing no one tells you growing up in this family. When you're a kid, you want to be the hero. You want to wear the cape and punch the badguys, to swing through the window, save the day, then get the girl. You want to be Batman. God, you want it so much that sometimes it keeps you up at nights. But then you get older, and as you get older what matters to you, what's most important to you, changes. Slowly, but inexorably you begin to realize that being the hero, it sucks. People die when you play the hero. You're the one getting shot at, but it's always those standing next to you that seem to catch the bullets. Eventually you realize that Batman doesn't exist, or at least not the Batman you knew as a child. The Caped Crusader, he's an impossible ideal, a rabbit hole that leads to madness, or more likely crippling depression. And that's when you become conscious of the fact that you don't want to be the hero anymore. You'd just settle for being a good man. And isn't that enough?

Shouldn't it be?

*sigh*

Anyway, where was I.

I became the League’s go-to operative. The guy they called when they needed a scalpel rather than a mallet. Want someone to sneak into Khandaq and extract a VIP? You called Flamebird. Need a HIVE schools training programmes sabotaged? Call Flamebird. Want a rival agent seduced and brought over to the whitehats? You better believe you call Flamebird. (hey, I inherited the Grayson charm, alright. I can honeypot with the best of them.) Sure, I would still be there for those big-League operations when they run into one of those ‘all hands-on board’ situations, but that wasn’t where my strengths lay. I was a spy, for lack of a better term, and a damn good one at that.

Or at least I was, up until the day I died.

‘Whoa’, you must be saying to yourself, ‘What an incredible, and definitely not overplayed, twist’. Well thank you, I’m quite proud of it myself, but please stop interrupting, or I’ll never get this story finished.

During what was supposed to be a routine operation in China, picking up info left for us by one of the Leagues covert agents at a dead drop, I was ambushed by Deathstroke the Terminator and his granddaughter, Ravager. Now if you know Deathstroke then you know that guy doesn’t play around. If you end up in his sights, you're almost certainly going to die. I was lucky, and I mean jackpot-lottery-win-the-same-day-you-find-out-you're-secret-royalty-kind-of-luck, to make it away from that encounter in one piece. My luck ran out shortly afterwards though, when I missed my extraction. Things went from bad to worse when the Terminator picked up my trail, and so began a game of cat and mouse that seen me leading the most dangerous mercenary alive on a merry chase across Asia, Siberia, and finally Poland. I almost made it out too, but Ravager cornered me in Warshaw, and slowed me down long enough for Slade to catch up.

I fought them as hard as I could, but Deathstroke is good. Really good. Even in his prime, Batman wouldn’t face him unless he really had to, not alone, and definitely not without stacking the deck heavily in his favour beforehand. I, on the other hand, was alone, wounded, tired, and facing Deathstroke and Lady Deathstroke Junior together. I wasn’t getting out alive. That much was clear.

So, I faked my death.

I won’t bore you with the details – you probably wouldn’t believe me if I told you – but I fooled Slade into thinking that he got the better of me. Unfortunately, I actually did get hurt pretty bad, and ended up out of commission for these last six months, six long months that I couldn’t even contact my parents, or any one else in the League to let them know I’m still alive. See, I now know something that the Legion wouldn’t want me to know. Something which means that I can’t use the old channels to contact my allies. Deathstroke didn’t find me by accident. Somebody leaked my whereabouts, and the only people that could have possible known where I was going to be are supposed to be the good guys. Which means the League has itself a mole.

A mole I intend on exterminating.

Although Danielle's top speed hasn't been measured yet, the faster she goes the quicker her stamina depletes. Once her Stamina is depleted her body begins to shut down so she believes it best to tap into the higher limits of the speed force only when absolutely necessary. Her intangibility and phasing abilities are somewhat limited and he hasn't had much experience with using the intangibility ability but she has used the phasing ability a number of times. Although she can use the speed force to avoid bullets and the suit is designed to be able to shrug off small caliber weaponry such as pistols, she is vulnerable to heavier weaponry such as Semi-automatic weaponry and assault rifles

Danielle Steel's early life was uneventful. She was born and raised in a small town near Central City and moved there when she was twenty three years old. Her life was forever changed when she visited the Flash museum on a rainy day in November. A few hours into her visit, a battle erupted between the current Flash and the Rogues. During the battle, the flash was forced to tap into the Speed Force while fighting Captain Cold who was using new weaponry, Despite many of the people being evacuated from the Museum, Danielle was unable to escape and was stuck on one of the upper floors. As the battle raged between the Flash and his enemies, she tried to avoid getting caught in the crossfire but one of Captain Boomerang's explosive boomerang's took out a section of the floor she was standing on and she was sent flying through the air and slammed into the Scarlet Speedster. The Flash was knocked off course and the Rogues ended up escaping the battle during the confusion. Danielle was wounded and her heart was damaged during the fall. The Flash was able to get her to a hospital but somehow during the ten seconds it took for Danielle to get to the Hospital she flat-lined.

The Flash jump started her heart by using his ability to phase through objects and somehow Danielle was able to absorb a tiny fraction of the energy that made up the Speed Force from him, enough that he didn't even notice at first. The Doctors working on her first noticed that she was healing unusually quick at noon of the first day. By midnight of the same day, Danielle was completely healthy. Her parents were finally able to visit her shortly after midnight after a delay in being notified. She expected her parents to show her love and support and understanding.

She was wrong.

Her parents, after seeing a few involuntary displays of power such as her arms briefly phasing through the hospital bed informed her that she was no longer welcome in their home. Danielle's eyes widened in shock and horror as her "Loving" parents began screaming and yelling at her, calling her a freak and an abomination among other things before leaving her alone in the hospital room. Danielle buried her head in her pillow and began screaming into it as tears built in her eyes. The shock and disappointment was replaced with a fury she had never felt before. A few minutes later, the Hospital shook violently and when the nurses and doctors began to check each of the rooms to make sure everyone was safe. After reaching Danielle's room they stopped and stared in shock as they saw a rather large hole in the wall. Her room was four stories above the ground floor. Not knowing what to expect when they looked out the damaged wall, they were shocked to see a quick moving blur tearing across the city. Despite the Hospital notifying Star Labs and a number of people associated with the Justice League, so far Danielle hasn't been seen since the incident despite attempts by notable members of the League including the current Flash himself to locate her.

Danielle used to have a very bright and cheerful personality. She felt loved and respected by her friends and family, at one point she was in a loving relationship and had a somewhat decent job. After the incident at the Flash Museum, she has become very cold and quiet, that's not to say she is deliberately cruel and mean to people, but there was a definite personality change after what happened with her parents.

Angela Mannheim is an incredibly vain woman who was entirely too sensitive about her father's nickname “Ugly”. As such, a good portion of her personal income has gone into plastic surgery to the point that she is barely recognizable as human. Experimental and expensive treatments have made her 7 feet tall, stick thin, and improbably proportioned. With her blue eyes, designer clothing, and blond hair she seems more like a unsettling living Barbie doll than a human being.

Angela Mannheim has no inherent superpowers but has used her immense fortune to buy several special weapons that she keeps on her person.

She keeps a thumbnail-sized chunk of Kryptonite in a lead-lined box with her at all times.

A concealable but powerful Amertek Toastmaster pistol.

She also carries around thirty Miraclo pills on her, the formula stolen from Hourman years ago. Ingesting one pills gives her an hour of superhuman strength, stamina, and speed (enabling her to lift up to 25 tons, bounce high-caliber gunfire off her skin, and run up to 80 mph). The effect only lasts one hour and then requires 24 hours of cooldown before it can be used again without risking overdose. Angela is in denial about it but is slowly becoming addicted to Miraclo.

Without Miraclo Angela is a normal human being and as vulnerable to damage as anyone else. Long run, her numerous surgeries and extensive drug use are going to have a very detrimental effect on her health.

Daddy's little girl. Those can be three dangerous words when put together, especially when Daddy is the biggest crime boss in North America.

Bruno “Ugly” Mannheim was the leader of Intergang when superheroes first started to appear. Unlike other crime syndicates that organized along ethnic lines, Intergang treated existing gangs like the mafia, yakuza, posses, and cartels as their farm leagues, hiring up the best and brightest. Based out of Metropolis, Intergang was soon pushing the envelope for organized crime, stealing and developing their own weapons and technology. Times were good for Intergang, at least until Superman arrived in 2017, the same year Ugly's only child was born. Some of Superman's earliest battles were against Intergang, dealing the organization same major defeats until other, more pressing menaces pushed Intergang further and further down the hero's to-do list. In a way, however, Bruno Mannheim viewed that as even more of an insult- he wasn't even important enough to finish off. There are whispers that burning with hatred for the Kryptonian, he began conducting dark rituals, reaching out for something that eventually took a personal interest in the Mannheim family. It is true that for her entire life, Angela has had dreams where she is whispered instructions by a cloaked hunchback, a robed nobleman, a kind-faced old woman, and very rarely a hulking red-eyed figure.

Bruno Mannheim soon began to give lessons to his daughter and most trusted subordinates. Unexpectedly, they were religious in nature. Mannheim asserted that traditional morality was a reversal of true morality, that the Bible should have venerated Cain for creating the sacred crime of murder. It was the beginning of the Religion of Crime, practiced in secret by members of Intergang. Cruelty and greed would be rewarded one glorious day. Angela believed wholeheartedly in this new religion, converting as many Intergang members as he could. As she became more dogmatic in her worship of crime, refusal was met with death. Conversion became a requirement of membership in Intergang.

From the beginning Angela was groomed as a successor to her father, both as a priestess and a boss. She was denied nothing, spoiled endlessly, taught to disregard the lives of anyone but herself- after all, selfishness was a central tenet of the Religion of Crime. Her aging father saw the promise of the Legion of Doom and joined Intergang to them- Intergang soon became an excellent source of funding and manpower to the Legion, operating their rackets in the developed world controlled by the League. Bruno often told his daughter, though, that their loyalty was not to the Legion but to the things they often dreamed of, who he called the Elite. One day the Elite would come, sweep aside the heroes and villains alike, and the Mannheims would be rewarded. Angela's natural vanity and cruelty was sharpened, and while at face value she accepted the Legion she privately plotted against them as well- the Elite had often told her in dreams how fondly they regarded betrayal.

Shortly after the Shiruta Pact was signed, the elder Mannheim, now confined to a wheelchair, became too old and feeble to run Intergang. He passed the reins to his pill-popping, surgery-addicted daughter, expecting her to continue his work and prepare for the coming of the Elite. In the meantime, Angela tries to enhance her own standing within the Legion and has a few ideas up her sleeve to do exactly that.

Angela operates out of a penthouse in a Metropolis skyscraper, from there running Intergang operations all over the world.

The Swamp Thing is an anthropomorphic lump of vegetation. It's body, whilst humanoid, is covered in algae, moss and other plant life.
With glowing red eyes and a green, skull-like face, it is easy to see why many regard the Swamp Thing as a tale to be told by the old swamp dweller drunk at a bar.

Superhuman strength and Durability

The ability to Inhabit and control plant life including it's growth. This ability is strong enough that, when connected with the ground, he can communicate with any living vegetation on the planet.

Construct creation. The swamp thing creates clones of itself from vegetable matter. These animated constructs are significantly weaker and have no thoughts of their own.

Swamp Thing's essence can abandon his body, travelling through The Green, and grow a new body in other region. This new body will be made up of plants common to the area. ie; Cactus in a desert.

His strength is directly dependant of the Health of the Green. Because of the disturbance caused by the War between the humans, Swamp Thing cannot reach his upper limits. He can still lift multiple times his body weight.

Heavy Pollution causes the Swamp Thing's strength and endurance to wither.

The body of the creature is highly flammable and, whilst a new body can be grown, this will incapacitate him.

The Green is the elemental force that connects all forms of plant life on earth and potentially the universe. Plant elementals such as Swamp Thing, Poison Ivy, and Solomon Grundy are able to experience The Green as a separate realm ruled by the Parliament of Trees. The Parliament is made up of previous elementals who have served to protect The Green.

In a secret lab hidden in the Louisiana Swamps, Bio-Chemist Alec Holland discovered a formula that would cause bio-matter to regrow. He believed that this would help solve world hunger and cure famine from areas of poverty.
Before he could completely produce his solution, a rival corporation caught wind of his breakthrough and sent thugs to destroy his work. Knocking him out and detonating the lab with Holland inside, the world believed the renowned scientist to be dead. Instead, he was chosen by the Parliament of Trees to become Earth's new protector of The Green.
For Thirty years The Swamp Thing was regarded a myth, akin to Bigfoot or the Yeti, but the war that is brewing between the Justice League and the Legion of Doom has caused unforeseen tremors within The Green unlike anything seen before.

Years of being the solitary protector of Plant life on Earth has left the mind of Alec Holland somewhat fractured. The Swamp Thing no longer holds much value in human life seeing most of it as a danger to The Green. For now he is on the side of "good." But what in human nature can be defined as "good", really?

The Swamp Thing has a daughter with similar powers, but he has not seen her in years so she is most likely grown up.

Not too long ago I read my first Swamp Thing story, The Root of all Evil. I really loved that book and the character of the Swamp Thing. I intend to read Saga of the Swamp Thing when I can.
In my character I am channelling a bit of Dr Manhattan from the Watchmen series, in particular, the second half where he no longer cares for Earth and it's people.

Standing at 5'4", Hannah is shorter than most of her peers and with a slender frame. She has waist length strawberry blonde hair, normally kept out of her face and tied in a loose bun, it has a natural curl but occasionally she will wear it poker straight. After the incident, she was left with yellow eyes like that of a snake, with a slit for an iris. She is incredibly self-conscious of it, and so continues to wear hazel coloured contacts - even if they do start to irritate her after a while. She would rather the discomfort than feel that she looks like a monster to people.

Hannah will almost always wear gloves - she is terrified of poisoning someone fatally with her touch.

Her 'Toxin' outfit is a simple black bodysuit with boots, gloves, and an eye mask. She modelled her outfit on Catwoman's, opting for simplicity. That said, she didn't leave it entirely unfashionable - when light strikes it in a certain way, you can see a snake-like scale pattern covering it.

Venom Generation - Snake Mutation - Hannah's can secrete and inject venom at will through retractable claws on her hands, which appear above her own fingernails. Her venom is incredibly advanced, carrying hemotoxic, neurotoxic, and cytotoxic properties simultaneously. This is the power that she struggles with the most, and as such, she developed a serum to lessen the effects and potency of her venom so that she could have more contact with others, without fear of hurting them. She will use this power to perform Venom Combat when necessary.

Advanced Regenerative Healing - Snake Mutation - With her snake mutation, Hannah's wounds heal faster than most others. It is by no means a miraculous and instant heal, but is remarkably faster than anyone else she knows. She has recently been trying to use her own advanced healing cells to create something for use in the field.

Seismic Sense - Snake Mutation - A variation of Echolocation, Hannah is able to sense movements and disturbances from a distance with physical contact with the ground. She can sense structures, materials, and weaknesses. Such knowledge gives her great spatial awareness and danger intuition.

Poison Capsules (Weapon) - Learned - Using her own extracted venom, and knowledge of chemistry, Hannah has created and weaponised a series of venomous and poisonous capsules which she can use in the field to distract enemies, put them to sleep, or cause them excruciating pain. She has used her own venom to create these, as well as using certain plant poisons and other chemicals to combine together for different effects. She has deliberately made them non-lethal. Something which has been a point of contention with many of her fellow Justice League colleagues.

Stealth - Learned - She can be completely silent and stay hidden in small spaces. She often wonders if it is the snake mutation, or just her own tiny frame and flexibility. Staying out of sight allows her positioning to support others and have eyes on the field.

Master of Chemistry/High Intelligence - Learned/Snake Mutation - Hannah holds both a Bachelors and Masters in Advanced Chemistry, and was over half way through her Doctorate degree when she developed her mutation - causing her to drop out of University before she could attain her PhD. She uses this knowledge to develop weapons at Wayne Enterprises and conduct other experiments... As well as this, after her mutation, Hannah's intelligence increased furthermore - she is able to read and retain more knowledge than ever before.

One x One Combat - Hannah is a supportive League member, meaning that if she were to be ambushed she would be bested quite easily. She hasn't had enough combat training to hold her own. The only way she would stand a chance would be to use toxikinetic combat - but she may not have the speed to achieve it against a fully trained fighter. She prefers to fight her battles with technology, and from the sidelines...

Anti-Venom - On more than one occasion, Hannah has been hit with an anti-venom. It is not enough to kill her, but it will put her out of commission for long enough to be killed by other means.

Tires Easily - If put into stressful combat for too long, Hannah will tire and become sluggish faster than others might.

Heat - Snake Mutation - As part of her snake mutation, Hannah can no longer stand being in the heat for too long, and prefers cooler temperatures at all times.

Tell me about yourself, Miss Russell.

Well, I once was a normal girl, living a normal life. I was on the path to success - my Bachelors and Masters in Advanced Chemistry under my belt, and only a few semesters away from my PhD. I had worked my way through an Internship at Wayne Enterprises too - developing non-lethal chemical weapons, and certain upgrades for a lot of the equipment used by the Justice League. A lot of it was top secret you know?

This sounds exciting for someone so young.

Of course! I was using my brain to benefit my Heroes... People like Diana Prince, and Barbara Gordon. The Justice League. I suppose it wasn't really a normal life after all, now that I think of it. It was a scary time, with the Legion an ever-present threat. There was always a reason to make more and to do better.

Do you ever feel like you put too much into your work, Hannah?

In a way. I worked hard - I wanted to prove myself, and to be honest being in those labs all day was exhilarating. I didn't want to be anywhere else. At just 25 I was creating the most magical, impossible things. I stayed at the lab 'til all hours of the night. On more than one occasion I fell asleep there...

That can't have been healthy...

It wasn't, you're right. I never really saw my family anymore. I... I didn't see my younger brother, Adam, a lot. I think things were hard for him.

When did you last see your family?

On my Father's birthday. But Adam didn't show. My Mother explained that he had fallen in with a tough crowd and she was worried about him and so I took off to find him.

That seems like a drastic measure to take, no?

Gotham at night, is still a scary place. I shouldn't have gone alone. I should have called someone to tell them where I was, but it was family, and I felt so guilty. He had reached out to me a few times for avice but I'd been so busy working. My baby brother was in trouble with some low life Gotham thugs... Maybe I could help him. I had with me a prototype I'd been working on, it was a capsule but I wasn't sure the formula was right.

Sounds like that shouldn't have been on your person - you said it was top secret work...

I shouldn't have had it. I know I shouldn't. It should never have left the lab, I just... I couldn't stand leaving work for one night to see my family. I had been planning to test it at my home lab that night... I never made it home. The fusion saved my life though - and also ruined it.

Do you remember what happened?

I remember driving around Gotham, it was so grey and it was heavily raining. I remember that. It was that wind that seems to be completely horizontal. I eventually found Adam, he was heading into some seedy looking club with some scary looking guys.

You said he'd been in trouble with Gotham Thugs?

I could see that he didn't want to go in there. I knew that I could help him - I could be like my Heroes, like Wonder Woman or Batgirl. I could help him, with the prototype I could save him.

A reckless decision, wasn't it?

In a way...

So I headed downstairs after him, I just... I remember hearing arguing and then I heard a gunshot. They shot my brother, I knew it. Something came over me, I rushed in. I shouldn't have rushed in. I thought that if I broke the capsule the gas would take them down, I could use it and it would put them out for a while.

But you didn't want to kill them?

Goodness no! I wanted to save Adam, and then I would contact the police!

So what happened after that?

They jumped me first. It was all a blur, it was a big blur. I just remember the smell of incense in the room, cigars, and whisky. How it hurt when they twisted my arms behind my back. They didn't touch my purse but they spoke for a while. I wasn't listening, I was looking at Adam. I couldn't see him breathing. "Give the wench a scare, show her the babies..." That's what I heard. I heard him say it, I swear I did...

They dragged me out to the back. I did try to fight but they were too strong, and so they dragged me to a room with a tank. It was full of snakes.

How did it make you feel to see them?

Terrified. I don't know why he had so many. But... stranger things have happened in Gotham.

So then what happened, why did they attack you?

I can still hear the hissing. It was so loud, and they were all leaning up to me from in the tank. Desperate to get out. I think they were only trying to scare me. It was an accident, I think... The thugs threw me in the room and I fell on the tank somehow before they locked the door... The first one bit quickly. I could feel the heat of it's venom. It started stinging throughout my whole body - but then something else happened. I could smell the gas from the prototype... I must have smashed it when I landed see. It was just a chemical smoke, it was meant to stun people it reached but maybe the formula was all wrong. Like I said, I shouldn't have had it. But those chemicals mixed with the venom and something happened... When I came to, they were gone. The snakes were around me. I counted 5, they were huddled beside me - I don't know, almost like they were comforting me? But the thugs were gone... They just left me there. Maybe they thought I had died.

They had taken Adam's body too...

How did you feel when you left?

I came out of that room wrong. A monster.

It's been two years since it happened, how do you feel now?

Better. I feel like... Like I can help people. For a long time I felt like I was bad - that I was a monster and a killer and I did everything I could do get rid of this mutation. I was depressed, I shut myself away in my lab at Wayne and turned into a recluse. All I wanted to do was be myself - the old Hannah. I eventually was able to tone it down - the venom, and started to get my life back. I'm not as scared to be around people now. I mean I even have some friends here! Since joining the Justice League properly, I feel like I can make a difference.

And is that what you want? To make a difference?

More than anything. I want the world to be good, and whatever I can do to make that happen - I will do it.

Do believe in fate, Miss Russell?

In a way, yes I do. This curse... It had to be me. Someone else might have made something terrible from it. My brain, and this curse. I can really help people now.



After the incident, Hannah returned to Wayne Enterprises where she was immediately treated but the damage could not be undone. She was generating her own venom, her appearance began to change, and she gained heightened senses. Stabilised, she remained in the labs at Wayne Enterprises. Ashamed and suffering from severe self-consciousness. She would wear coloured contacts to mask her now snake-like eyes, and would wear gloves and full length clothing constantly - for fear that her touch would be fatal to someone.

She worked day and night, eventually developing a serum that slowed down her venom generation to a point where it could be controlled. She even extracted her own venom and began to use it in development of weapons for Wayne Enterprises. Slowly over time, she came to terms with herself again. Swearing to use her powers for good, swearing that she would never use them to purposefully hurt someone.

Once a lively, and spirited young woman, she is now much more reserved - for fear that she will get too close to anyone. She has a strong sense of right and wrong, and will always act in what she feels is the in the best interest for true justice. She heard the names whispered, she knew that they called her 'Snake Eyes' and 'Doubles', 'Poison', 'Dangerous'...

It wasn't until the day that she finally met her hero, Barbara Gordon that she took up the moniker of 'Toxin' and joined the Justice League. It was Barbara who convinced her with words of good advice, and by transferring her infectious spirit in some way to Hannah.

Barbara told her to take her fears and turn them into her strength to fight for good. She was told to use what people said about her in the shadows and cast light on it - wear it as her armour. Now, in 2052, she supports the League on missions with he stealth and ability to scope out environments, to debilitate enemies, and to create unique weapons for her fellow colleagues, to push back the rising darkness cast by the Legion...

She wears fingerless gloves, bracelets, a pair of small shoulder guards to help protect her upper arms, and greaves to protect her lower legs.

Though immortal and inhumanly tough, Donna can still die through accident or combat if she suffers enough trauma, particularly piercing trauma. Her healing factor can only protect her against minor injuries, minor sprains, cuts etc. Major trauma will require medical attention, though she does heal about twice as fast as a normal human.

Donna also has no mental defenses, though her willpower is extremely strong.

Donna still needs to be able to breath, though she can hold her breath for 10 minutes. She also needs to eat and sleep.

Though usually level headed, at times Donna has to be careful, lest her temper get away from her.

As Polemarch, Donna is an official representative of Themyscira, equivalent to Defense Minister with all the honors, and limitations of that office. It can make it difficult at times for her to just show up within another country. She also has to be careful to consider the political impact of her actions, lest she cause a diplomatic incident.

When Diana took over the throne of Themyscira following her mother’s disappearance, she knew she was going to need good advisors to help guide her. The very first position she filled was Polemarch of the Amazons, offering it to her younger sister. Donna was surprised by the offer, but immediately and graciously accepted. As her time was now spent training, planning and preparing the Queendom for war, Donna had little time for League business. Despite her best efforts, her attendance declined to the point where she was a member in name only.

And then the war came…

For Donna it was her ultimate test. And she passed. Leading her sisters in battle time and time again she helped save Themyscira from utter destruction at the hands of the Legion and its allies. But the cost to the Amazons was enormous. Despite Donna’s best efforts, and even with members of the League standing shoulder to shoulder with her, much of Themyscira was damaged or destroyed by the Legion. And far too many of her sisters were dead or badly injured.

It was a solemn Polemarch that watched her Queen sign the ceasefire agreement. And even as it was implemented Donna knew another war was coming. She had already vowed that the deaths of her sisters were not going to be in vain. And even as the Queendom started to rebuild, Donna knew she was already in a race against time to get the Kingdom ready for the next war.

But even as she planned and trained, Donna knew she was going to need more help. At first, she actually considered asking the United States for military assistance, but quickly rejected it. Instead, she turned to the Justice League. Despite being overwhelmed with other with other missions the Justice League was already coordinating as closely with the Queendom as they could. The best they could offer was to assign a member of the League to directly liaise with Themyscria. Donna took what she could get, and was shocked to find her son Robert assigned to the mission.

Donna had not seen her son for years, and needless to say, the relationship started off very rocky. Robert was not enthused to be “an errand boy” for the mother that never spent any time with him. But Donna wanted to make it work. She felt guilty at not keeping in touch with her son, and besides she was lonely. Her only person she saw regularly was her aide-de-camp, Juno. Even though she was close to Dianna, they were often apart on other tasks. And Donna really didn’t have time to date much. And so, Donna worked extra hard, and despite wanting to almost give up several times, she and Robert eventually reconciled. Working closely with the League, and the rebuilding of the Amazon’s military starting to bear fruit, she is, if not confident, at least hopeful that Themyscria will not simply ride out the war intact, but return to some of its former glory as a valued ally.

Juno is younger and less muscular than Donna, though she is still a formidable presence. Her skin is a pale white with a few freckles under her eyes. She normally wears her shoulder length hair loose. Juno usually wears a simple tunic belted at the waist, sandals, and the obligatory Amazon bracelets.

Durability: Resistant to low levels of blunt trauma, but is still vulnerable to piercing damage.

Following the war, Donna Troy’s workload doubled overnight as she rushed to get the Queendom’s defenses rebuilt. Donna was responsible for everything, a crushing level of work even for an Amazon. It was Dianna who first saw her sister beginning to tire, and knew she would collapse before admitting she needed help. After consulting some of the more senior Amazons on the island, Dianna sat her sister down and suggested she take on an aide to help. Much to Dianna’s surprise, her sister agreed that she needed some assistance. Diann then presented Donna with a list of five candidates.

Donna took the list and for the next month interviewed and tested each of candidates. They were all excellent, but individually they had small flaws that were just enough for Donna to reject them. That was, until she met the last candidate, Juno. On the surface, Juno seemed less suited for the position than the others. She was a younger Amazon and though a fine and brave warrior, she was not nearly as experienced or wise as the others.

But the more time Donna spent with her the more she saw that Juno was in fact perfect for her needs. Juno was very intelligent, observant and curious. She was willing to learn and had a near perfect recall of events. And she was a proud yet humble warrior. Donna had at last found who she was looking for and offered the position to Juno. Since that time, Donna has often wondered how she got along prior to having an aide. Juno has become indispensable to the Polemarch, exceeding the expectations and level of trust placed on her. For Juno, she is in awe of the Polemarch, and loves the posting despite the very long hours and heavy expectations placed upon her. However, she still is a bit intimidated by the fast pace and new experiences of Patriarch’s world.

Juno can nearly always be found either at Donna’s side, or off conducting important errands on her behalf. That is, unless Donna’s son Robert is around. You see, the two met about a year ago, and have started to fall in love. The two have done their best to be discrete, but Donna knows all about it and is pleased. However, she acts like she doesn’t know.

Grunt. Kayda doesn't make many decisions, she just goes where she's pointed and does what she's told.

Kayda stands at 5ft 7in, with light brown eyes. Her body is covered in tattoos, all self designed and paid for, that she claims all represent a part of her or her life. She's usually seen with darker punkish clothing, preferring dark colors in general. Her choker is almost never missing from her body, as it is where her costume and armor spring from, nanomachines forming everything in milliseconds.

Super Powers

Kayda's main super power is the ability to absorb, release, and gain strength from heat. She can absorb heat from anything that actually possesses heat to absorb, though it grows tougher as said object is farther away from her, with her being able to absorb all the heat almost instantaneously from things she's touching and taking longer from there. Technically she can draw heat from anything she can see, but it starts taking minutes when things get 100 feet away.

Kayda grows stronger the more heat she has stored in her body, her physical attributes and resistances increasing. From 100-500 C (or 200-930 F) she's operating at peak human performance in all physical aspects. From 500-1000 C (930-1830 F) she's reached super human levels, and conventional weapons have ceased to have an effect upon her. 1000+ C she grows ever more capable of going toe to toe with the heaviest hitters in the DC universe. Kayda has no limits on how much heat she can store in her body, and if she could get to a level close to the surface of the sun, she would become one of the most destructive forces on the planet. Fortunately, the amount of time and effort it would take for her to get to that level without actually firing her into the sun isn't feasible to undergo without extremely drastic measures and resource expenditure.

Kayda can use the heat stored in her body in a few ways. She can expel it in a certain direction or way out of her body, allowing her to have fire attacks, or achieve a form of flight. She can use the thermal energy stored in her body to rapidly accelerate her healing. She can expend it to increase her physical traits beyond what they're passively at, depending on her stored heat. If she achieves a high enough level of heat (close to the 1000+ C) she merely uses her thermal energy to conduct the energy for all her bodily functions, and ceases needing to eat, breathe, drink, etc etc.

Kayda is completely immune to all heat based forms of damage. She could dive into a lake of lava and emerge unmarked.

Kayda can, theoretically, control the temperature around her and the temperature of various objects she sees, but lacks the control to do that finely without actively touching or focusing on an object.

Skills

Kayda has received extensive training in melee combat and how to best use her powers in conjunction with that from the Markovs. She's trained in various forms of martial arts and how to best use her abilities to enhance them.

Kayda is a skilled artist, and practices it on her down time.

Kayda is trained in free running and parkour, and is able to move quickly through almost any environment seamlessly.

Equipment

Kayda's armor, pictured above, is mostly there to help her control how she absorbs and expends her thermal energy. She is still unskilled in managing the heat around and inside of her, and the suit helps with that. It allows her to have more controlled flight by directing her expended heat out the jetpack in the back, can form blades that could be superheated from the wrists, elbows, and knees, is bullet proof, and helps her slow her expenditure of her thermal energy to a sustainable rate. It is also almost as immune to heat based damage as she is.

Kayda is, unsurprisingly, very vulnerable to cold. Deprive her of her heat and she begins to weaken. In addition, it is possible to keep her at merely a peak human level by keeping her out of areas where she has a lot of heat to draw upon, and in that period she is only a little better than the average human.

Kayda's biggest issue with her powers is her inefficiency in expending the heat necessary for her powers. She hasn't yet learned how to properly control its expenditure, and as such tends to use too much too fast and requires an almost constant source of heat to keep herself going at high levels. Her suit helps with that, but it can only do so much.

When Kayda draws in too much heat too fast, she gets hit with what she calls being 'In Heat'. She's described it as doing pure adrenaline and then some cocaine. She gets high off of the energy boiling within her, making her even more reckless and sure of her own immortality, spending her heat even faster.

Kayda's entire life before E-day was spent in Markovia. She never had a reason or desire to go anywhere else. Markovia was home, and it was safe. She didn't want to explore the world when she had everything she'd need right here. Her powers hadn't activated yet, and likely would never have if the Legion hadn't enacted its plans. Even with all the wondrous experiences she's gotten and amazing people she's met because of it, she wishes that the Legion had never had the chance to enact its plans. That E-day had never happened. That she still had everything she had ever known. She still had everything she had loved.

She was preparing to go to college when E-day happened, and her world was turned upside down. She was listing off everything to her mother (who had demanded a third check of everything she had, just to be sure) when their phones lit up with alerts. News reports began flying in from all directions about the hundreds of invasions and conquests going around the world, the world's many heroes unable to contain all of it. Within hours, governments all around the world had fallen, and reports arrived of an army cutting its way through Markovia on its way to the capitol, despite the best efforts of the King and his soldiers.

Kayda and her parents tried to run. But they were too slow and there was no where to run. The invaders had arrived, encircled Markovburg, were destroying the city. In the chaos that followed, Kayda would watch her parents and friends get cut down by monsters and soldiers from another dimension and would realize her powers. She doesn't remember much from that day. An intense heat inside her, straining and clawing to be released. A few clear moments and flashes of emotion. Fear. Grief. And a burning hatred. She hated them. All of them. The Legionnaires who desired such destruction. The heroes who were too weak to permanently stop them before it got this bad. That hatred flowed through her, consuming her every being, until it exploded outwards in a wave of heat and flames. Monsters died, and Kayda laughed. If the heroes couldn't muster the guts to do what must be done, she would. She'd kill them. Kill them all and burn their ashes.

She would run around the city then, wildly drawing in heat and releasing it in an explosion of flames. She didn't have a goal, or a reason. She just wanted someone to pay.

That was how Terra found her, laughing wildly as she drew in heat to throw it at another enemy. Kayda was mad with heat rush and bloodlust, and would certainly die without someone saving her. The other girl would have to subdue Kayda with her powers, dragging Kayda away as the city fell. As they were taken away, Kayda began to weep. Everything was gone, destroyed by the monsters or burned by her own flames. She had lost everything, and the people that were supposed to protect the innocent had failed. They had failed them all. Terra did her best to comfort her as they retreated. It helped, if only a little.

That was the beginning of her entrance into the Markov family, and her loyalty to it. She would be trained in how to use her powers, and how to fight, and they would gift her with her suit. She and Terra would become a team, before both being sent to officially join the League and begin to help in the shadow war against the Legion.

Kayda is considered one of the more hawkish members of the League, openly supporting and advocating for the execution of villains and criminals who have proven that they will never change their ways or taken the lives of others. She is certain that if the League had been doing this from the beginning, people such as Black Adam, Gorilla Grodd, or Queen Bee would never have had the chance to seize the power they now have, and believes that war is inevitable, so they must do the first strike. She spares the foes that she deems worthy of being spared, and seeks to kill those who have killed innocents, or proven to be life long villains.

Therma is close with the modern Terra, having been childhood friends, and consistently refers to the both of them as 'Team Magma'.

Marcus stands at 5ft 9in with the stance, confidence, and build of a life long soldier. Or at least, his body was designed to look like that. The majority of Marcus's body (excluding some of his internal organs, and face) have been replaced with cybernetics. He walks with the calm, unruffled, aura of a man who has fought in countless battles and wars and come out standing. His face still looks like that of a young man, deceiving people into thinking that he is twenty years younger than he actually is. His helmet is normally retracted into his armor, revealing his face.

Skills

Life long combatant: Marcus has been fighting or training to fight for more than twenty years now. He's extremely skilled at fighting, be it with guns, blades, fists, or armored combat.

Master of Preparation: Given enough time and resources, Marcus can figure out a way to hurt or neutralize anyone. It was what caught the attention of the Legion when he served them, a human dishing out successes super powered soldiers couldn't do, with nothing more than time and his wits.

Craftsman: Marcus is very talented at building, improving, and designing things. He has made numerous improvements upon his own cybernetics, and built a weapon specifically for a target on more than one occasion.

Marcus' cybernetics are the source of his 'super powers'.

Super human physical traits: With his cybernetics, Marcus is capable of feats of strength and speed no human can hope to match. Normally this is settled at 40 tons and 90 mph at a dead sprint, but he can push himself to even further levels by upgrading his cybernetics.

Cybernetic eyes: Marcus' eyes have been replaced with advanced cybernetics, allowing him to have night vision, thermal vision, and to see into the UV spectrum. They can also zoom in on something, similar to a scope.

Super human reflexes and processing: Marcus can see, analyze, and react to a situation in a second, the cybernetics in his brain boosting his thinking and reaction times far beyond human level. His reflexes are fast enough to catch arrows mid-flight, and can be enhanced further if necessary.

Super human durability: Marcus' cybernetics can shrug off conventional gunfire, elemental effects, and melee attacks.

Self-repair: In the event that his cybernetics are damaged, Marcus can initiate a self-repair program to quickly fix himself and put him back in the fight.

Arm cannon: Built into his right arm, this railgun can fire a blast of energy so powerful it can knock Superman back. A beast of a weapon, it requires a second to prime before firing.

Various mundane weapons: Marcus likes to carry many weapons into battle and give himself as many options as possible. In addition to the blades stored in his left arm and knees and the gun he carries in his hands, Marcus typically carries a rifle on his shoulder, a gun in a chest holster, two guns in shoulder holsters, two guns in hip holsters, two guns in thigh holsters, and a final gun in his boot.

Near instantaneous learning: Being connected to the world wide web and having his ability to process information increased has given Marcus the ability to learn things like languages, advanced processes and theories, the composition of things, etc etc all in seconds.

Invisibility or Active Camo: Marcus' cybernetics can turn him invisible for a brief period of time or actively camouflage him as he moves.

Electricity: If someone were to hit Marcus with a strong enough blast of electricity, his cybernetics would shut down and he'd go into a defensive reboot mode.

Heavy Weapons: .50 caliber guns, tanks, RPGS, opponents stronger than him, all these things hit hard enough to break through Marcus' defense and can kill him. Beneath his cybernetics he's still human.

Hacking: Marcus can connect to the internet to receive, learn, and transmit data. It is possible for someone to hijack, access, and take control of this link, giving them free reign over Marcus' free will and thoughts. Someone would have to move fast though, as Marcus has naturally put as many safeguards and firewalls against that as he possibly could.

Born the only son to a military family, Marcus' life was decided for him before he even had a chance. He would be a soldier, and he would serve the United States. With that goal firmly set and noted, Marcus would spend his childhood and adolesence preparing for that. ROTC, weights, rifle training, anything and everything that could make him a more effective soldier. When he was 18, he joined the United States Marine Corp, and took to it like a fish to water. In the five years he served, he rapidly climbed the ranks and had his own command, fighting in the name of the United States of America. He would be dishonorably discharged after an incident where he ruthlessly sacrificed civilians to gain the advantage against insurgents, winning the battle but resulting in staggering civilian casualties. Following his dishonorable discharge, and his family subsequently disowning him, Marcus turned to mercenary work, offering his skills to the highest bidder.

He fought all over the world during those days, gathering a squad of similar soldiers around him as he did so. Their increasing success rate and brutal, ruthless, efficiency would attract the attention of the Legion of Doom, offering to pay them very well to help them with a plan. Marcus and his squad agreed, and so it was that on E-day Marcus and his squad were on the frontlines of the real war. The war to conquer and topple as many vulnerable governments as possible. With supervillains and monsters beside them, his squad cut its way through most of South America, Asia, Africa, and Eastern Europe, being taken almost instantaneously to wherever they were needed most.

Marcus almost felt sorry for the poor bastards they were conquering. They never had a chance, as concerned as the League and major heroes were with the first world nations and the earth's safety overall. He didn't feel sorry enough to not pull the trigger however, and never hesitated. Not even once. With the third world nations subjugated, any signs of resistance being put to the sword, Marcus and his squad turned their attention to attacking the more industrialized nations.

After more bloodshed and violence, a much stiffer resistance being met by the super hero protected and well armed nations, a peace was signed. Rather than being freed from their contract, Marcus and his squad were offered an extension. Their were many heroes still looking to cause rebellion in the lands conquered by the Legion, and many nations that still needed to be destabilized. The Legion could use someone of Marcus's skill and morals. With a steady pay ensured, and a proper challenge guaranteed, Marcus and his squad agreed.

For the next five years Marcus and his squad would operate as assassins and black ops goons, eliminating targets both within and without of Legion borders that were causing trouble, and helping destabilize areas that were not within Legion control but were not firmly under League protection either. For his squad's successes, they were granted cybernetics, funding, and a permanent base of operations. Marcus took the most cybernetics of his squad, seeking to make himself a match for the various meta humans that walked the earth in more than just his mind. He is now more machine than man, and uses it to his full advantage.

Marcus is a man who is doing what he was made for. Combat and war seem to be his lifeblood, and he thrives in them. He is constantly seeking another opponent to put himself against, both physically and mentally, and relishes the challenge that super powered foes bring. There is an inherent unpredictability to everything involving combat, but super heroes increase that unpredictability tenfold. Especially when they are as organized as they JLU is. A simple mission to assassinate a meta human with fire abilities could turn into a fight for his life and a hasty retreat if they can summon a Kryptonian to their aid. That unpredictability, that danger, is what Marcus lives for. He is going to die on the battlefield, there is no doubt in his mind of this. But he wants to see just how far he can go, how far he can push himself, before he finally dies.

Marcus has a squad of a dozen individuals, all cybernetically enhanced like him. They are all drawn from the Legion's armies, hand picked by Marcus himself for their ruthlessness and effectiveness in combat. He keeps the number at a dozen, replacing his lost soldiers as they die, finding that big enough to be effective but small enough to move quickly.

Marcus's base of operations is located in the mountains of Afghanistan, a fortress built into the solid rock. From there he and his squad deploy to wherever they're needed, train, build gear, and upgrade their cybernetics. It has a fully functioning workshop to build almost anything that Marcus could need, with a bay for requested resources to be brought in.

Roy has aged well, but kept up his physique well. Most days, he wears a suit to hide his cybernetic arm from the general public, opting to put on a glove over his right hand as well. His hair is usually well-kept, hair gel often keeping it in place properly. Whilst in public, Roy sometimes chooses to wear red-tinted sports sunglasses, a custom pair.

Only when training the Titans or operating in the field does he dress in his combat suit. A red visor helps protect his eyes and offers him a HUD that feeds him important information and offers him night and thermal modes of vision in combat. His suit lacks sleeves, but is clearly made from material comparable to most high-end vigilante's (lined with kevlar and designed to help prevent ballistics, minor explosives, and slashing/piercing attacks), though obviously colored crimson with black accents. Roy's cybernetic arm itself is colored crimson. Roy's weaponry lines his belt and back, though his mainstays are a high-tech quiver that dispenses trick arrows and a utility belt that often carries ammunition and his compacted, incredibly advanced bow.

Roy isn’t exactly… bulletproof, magicproof, or deathproof. He’s just a guy with a robot arm, a cocky attitude for someone just over his prime, and a shit load of arrows and bullets.

Not much is known about Roy Harper or his past until he was eleven years old and was busted for trying to hotwire the car of Oliver Queen, a member of the Justice League known as the Green Arrow. The playboy didn’t both filing charges against the boy, and their story was far from over. A year later, Oliver was “saved’ by the same boy who used a bow and arrow to incapacitate two muggers who went after him. It was at that moment that Mr. Queen knew he had found his successor. He greased the wheels to adopt the apart street orphan, giving him a lavish home life and all the training the boy could ever ask for. Roy was homeschooled by some of the finest scholars, but never took well to learning (except in math and physics, in which he excelled).

Roy Harper spent most nights out with a twenty-something playboy/millionaire in tights with a bow and arrow in hand. While Roy had always wanted the name “Red Arrow” or something that sounded bold and heroic, Oliver instead called him Speedy (because he was… well, quicker on the draw). The two fought crime together, though Roy divided his time frequently between Oliver Queen and the Teen Titans.

With the Titans, Roy had made close friends. He found a special connection with Dick Grayson (who was still a Robin then), and the two were peas in a pod. Roy expanded his training under the tutelage of the bat family for several years. He even managed to be one of the groomsmen at Dick and Barbara’s wedding (which, frankly, was the best damn wedding he had ever attended). But things went downhill from there.

Roy was granted membership in the Justice League, only to have it revoked in his mid-twenties. He had made a fatal mistake, killing several innocents in a conflict in Star City with the League of Assassins. Roy was high during the battle, lowering his reflexes just enough to land himself in critical condition. When his former mentors and friends found out about his drug abuse (something that began when he was the adopted teenage son of Oliver), he was left alone and beaten. Speedy became unhinged, fighting sloppily and nearly getting killed on multiple occasions. It was only when Roy fought Killer Croc on his own that he hit true rock bottom. The mutated villain became Roy’s sponsor as the archer fought his own inner demons in rehab. A year later, Roy returned as Arsenal.

Roy spent a short stint with Jason Todd, another bat-family friend he made as a Titan and friend of Dick Grayson. It was the least he could do for the Red Hood after getting saved from captivity after a few months as a mercenary in the Middle East. This partnership with the Red Hood and Starfire didn't last long, as Roy jumped on an opportunity offered by Nightwing to rejoin the Justice League.

Roy Harper adopted a new identity and went undercover in the League of Assassins at the age of 25. He got caught up in a whirlwind romance with an assassin named Chesire, got his arm cut off, and managed to beat several ninja/assassins unconscious with his own detached limb. It was a wild time…

Roy was outfitted with a cybernetic limb and rekindled his relationship with Oliver Queen, who was nearing the proper age to retire. The younger archer ended up becoming the Green Arrow's son once again. He was brought into the Queen mansion, and was granted a seat on the Board for Queen Industries while Oliver retired the hood, opting instead to get more involved in his company and global politics. Around the same time, he was met again by Jade, an assassin who went by Chesire, who had with her Roy’s daughter. Lian Harper was left with the scarlet archer before Arsenal's former love disappeared again.

Roy was a single father when the Second Cold War began, and he couldn’t stand by given he was a member of the Justice League. Whilst older, he returned as a covert agent briefly, but was reminded of the horrors of conflict and covert operations. His exact actions during the various proxy wars that took place is unknown by most members of the League, as he went rogue in the first year and a half of the conflict. When he returned, he requested a role as an instructor for new metahuman and military recruits. With his track record, he was granted said role without much hesitation. Arsenal saw some combat action in the more recent stages of the Second Cold War as an officer of JLU forces, but oddly insisted on using nonlethal fighting methods/styles.

Roy is currently attempting to live a quieter life with his daughter, Lian, at the former Queen Mansion. He is the primary instructor for the “special course” at the Star City Titans Academy, whilst also being a Commander within the JLU Reserves and training new recruits for the JLU when needed.

Has removed himself almost entirely from active JLU duty, instead trying to relegate himself to a support role in the JLU for reasons he has yet to explain to anyone.

Cheshire has always been gifted with beauty. Her slender yet ample figure has been easily used as a tool when necessary, though a close inspection can also reveal the minor scars and toned features that come with the territory of being a practical ninja. She stands at 5’ 8”, weighing in at around 150 lbs. Her outfits vary depending on the disguise she is going with, but her general outfit is a low-cut green kimono tied at the waist that fits with her green eyes and jet-black hair. She is also in possession of a mask she uses when her identity needs to remain secret, namely a white cat’s mask with red stripes and black accents.

As many are, Cheshire is merely human. Her general lack of armor makes any well-placed weapon strike lethal, let alone mental or magical attacks.

Jade was born to be a criminal. She was the daughter of Paula and Lawrence Crock, better known as Tigris and Sportsmaster. Given her super villain parentage, the inevitable assassin was trained since she could walk to fight. Her childhood was difficult, only having her sister Artemis to rely on for support during her harsh upbringing. When Jade was 13, her mother was forced into a wheelchair after a heist that went poorly. Once disabled, Paula Crock became a more supportive and loving mother who tried to turn her daughters away from the life of crime. It’s a shame it only worked for Artemis.

Jade’s obsession with her mother’s heritage led to the adoption of more traditional garb. Though, her name was derived from her favorite story as a child. So, she became Cheshire. Jade was forced to work with her father for a year, until she was discovered by the League of Shadows. Once the League discovered her, they offered Cheshire an escape. She could leave behind the acts of bank robbery and hostage taking she was forced into with her father, and instead could develop her innate talents as an assassin. In the League, Cheshire shined. She found an innate talent in chemistry and the developing of poisons, while also being a clear threat in close quarters. The most important skill Cheshire developed, however, was her ability to blend in. She had a childlike love of adopting new identities and disguises, being able to play a famous actress or a military commander with ease.

When she was in her mid-to-late 20’s, she met the one person who seemed to understand her. The former archer who fell from grace seemed to almost perfectly identify with the struggles Jade faced. The two were having a crisis of identity, both trying to live up to the expectations of their parental figures.Their romance was quick, Roy being the only person Jade ever felt any sort of attraction to (despite his incessant need to talk). It was only fitting that Jade was the one who put the pieces together and discovered Roy was a spy, an infiltrator in the ranks of the League of Shadows. And while her entire life and training would have led her to, she didn’t turn Roy in. Unfortunately Talia learned at the same time that Roy was a traitor. Jade wished she could have figured it out sooner and got Roy to leave… but she was too late. She was left pregnant amongst a group of assassins while the father disappeared, armless.

Once Lian was born, Jade refused to let her leave her side. She didn’t trust those around her, and she was one of the only assassins to give birth and remain with the league. From an early age, Lian was taught the ways of an assassin, instructed as soon as she could walk to pick up a dagger and fight. Lian’s early years were rough, and Jade regretted bringing her into this lifestyle. Which is why, once Lian was getting older and showing hints of disdain towards the lifestyle the two led, Jade tracked down Roy Harper. He was doing as well as a one-armed mercenary could. Better yet, he was as far removed from the League of Shadows as he possibly could be.

Part of Jade wanted to ask him to run away with her, so the two could do whatever they pleased. But he was a soldier in his heart, someone who could never let his friends fight alone. Or he would want to settle down, and Jade was not one for staying anywhere too long. The League of Shadows would certainly not want to let her go anyways. So she left without saying goodbye, and Roy was promoted to the role of single father for a daughter he had just met.

Jade returned to the League of Shadows and has been incredibly active within their ranks during the Second Cold War. She has been incredibly mobile, bouncing from conflict to conflict. She has infiltrated government cabinets, sabotaged peace talks, assassinated political candidates… and she wouldn’t have it any other way. She is easily within the top echelon of the League of Shadows.

Created to look mostly human, Nick was never really given much of a name or purpose when he was first created. His body is covered in "Absorbation Cells" Which allows him to copy and mimic the powers of aliens and metahumans. He is completely hairless, with the exception of a fake mustache that he had implanted recently. His build is quite muscular and quite tall at 6'4. Unlike the other models, his skin is regular flesh-coloured, due to S.T.A.R. labs wanting to test a synthetic skin on him whilst he was in test phases. His usual attire is relegated to simple articles of clothing, usually vest's and jeans, but is always seen with a crucifix around his neck.

Super Strenght: able to lift up to 5 tons over his head.
Super Durability: Small arms fire has little effect on his reinforced titanium skeleton, but high powered rifles are able to rip holes in him and potentially damage vital parts, unless he can copy a being with super durability
Super Stamina: Due to being a robot and not producing fatigue toxins, he is able to exert himself at maximum for several hours before being forced to recharge.
Information Assimilation: He is able to process information much more quickly than a human. He is also equipped with a USB in his finger that he can use to upload and download files from compatible machines. Of course, his CPU only has so much memory, as such, he can't simply download everything. Plus, this process can take hours if downloading hundreds of gigabytes of information.

Nick is a quite kind of person who doesn't seem to talk unless he has something to say. But, once he gets going, getting him to stop is the real trick. Being a robot, he still isn't completely adept empathy. He knows what he enjoys and he assumes others are just as interested in his hobbies as he is. He has many prefered pass-times, including reading books and watching TV. Although he can download all of this information quickly into his head, Mara has taught him to slow down and to slowly focus on each and every word. He is also a fan of music, enjoying listening to Aretha Franklin.

Nick may work at a construction company as his day job, but being that he doesn't need to eat or sleep, he spends his nights working at "The Jade Emporium" along with the others. He and his team of "Justice Friends" include the following members

Kijani is primarily an information gatherer and spy, but she can and will fight if necessary.

Kijani is 5’10 and lithe, with gold eyes, dark skin and hair done up in pristine dreadlocks. She has a tendency toward crisp business suits and the highest of fashion.

Kijani has the ability to manipulate paper, and control its density. She can turn an index card into a razor sharp blade, a book into a brick, and newspaper into armor. She can remember anything she’s read and recall it with accuracy. She has a gift for languages and speaks 4 fluently; English, Spanish, French and Mandarin Chinese. She is working on ASL and German.

She also has a lot of grace on the battlefield, her primary talent being evasion and misdirection. Her fighting style is a blend of Tai Chi and Capoeria- moving with the flow of the fight, never stopping. Kijani’s self-invented style flows from move to move, never breaking stride even when she falls or is hit, it simply becomes another move in the dance. She has been trained in the use of a Chinese jian and has her own custom blade.

She also has a suit with specially treated fabric and Kevlar. It is designed to be light and flexible, to work with her nimble fighting style. Kijani also carries a ream of regular printer type paper. With that and her armor, she can block bullets from most standard guns. If given warning, she could make a shield strong enough to withstand a rocket launcher, but probably not more than once. So far, she can get her regular paper as strong as steel. If she uses something like cardstock or heavy cardboard, this strength goes up, but the flexibility and ease of use goes down. She also carries paper blending sticks, which she uses like stiletto knives.

If she is unconscious, her shields can hold for about 1 minute without her active concentration. After that, they are useless.

Kijani is human, with all the weaknesses that implies. She also has trouble using her power on wet paper, though she is trying to find some waterproof paper to work with.

Kijani was born to two wealthy, brilliant people who happened to dislike each other. Her conception was essentially an accident, and her parents married out of propriety rather than love. She grew up cared for by a nanny while her parents worked and ignored her. When she was eleven, she was kidnapped off the streets and held for ransom.
The official story is this: Her parents paid, she was released, but she was scarred, both physically and psychologically. From that day on she was never quite the same. She promised herself she’d never let that happen to her again, no matter what it took. Her nanny was fired, and Kijani pretty much raised herself from the age of eleven while her parents worked. She became an emancipated minor at the age of fourteen, took her inheritance from her parents, and used it to start living life on her own terms.
Kijani works with the Legion purely because thinks heroism makes people weak. In her eyes, knowledge is power waiting to be used. It’s not good or evil, and it’s there for the taking. However, her cold and sometimes nihilistic nature makes her a poor fit for any good-natured organization. The only time Kijani is genuinely, truly happy is when she has a good book in hand. Very rarely, there’s a hint of an energetic, brilliant woman behind the cool-natured spy, but one would have to be very lucky.

Amanda Waller, for one. She’s one of my favorite characters and a lot of my inspiration. Characters like her and Nick Fury make my day, and I wanted to know what would happen if you gave that kind of character a subtle dose of power.
As for her power, 100% cribbed from Read or Die, the OVA. I recommend it, it’s a fun watch if you can find it.
