PROLOGUE

[The Citadel - Universal Space Time - 7:35AM]

At first, the only sound that filled the apartment was the soft hum of the apartments air-conditioning. Then a loud and irritating electronic beep filled the bedroom, accompanied by a bright blue light that flashed on and off in rapid succession. Opening her eyes rapidly, Andromedai rolled over to the left side of the bed, letting her eyes focus upon the digital numbers of her alarm clock. The time showed [7:35AM-UST] the exact time she had programmed into the alarm clock to wake her up at. Reaching with her left hand, she hit the snooze button upon the top of the clock rather violently, causing the chaos that emitted from it to instantly stop and for the lights in the room to turn on. Groggily sitting up within her bed, she slowly swung her legs over the side and let her feet rest upon the dark brown carpeted floor below her. After carefully standing up and making sure she was fully awake, she carried our her morning stretches. A while would pass before she found herself down stairs inside of her large luxury apartment upon the Citadel.

Sitting alone at a large modern dinner table, there would be a mug of freshly brewed coffee, a plate of high protein food, and a small bowl of fruit. These few items made up her daily breakfast, and it was very rare for her to stray away from this meal, unless the day had something special in store for her. The television in front of her that she was focused upon showed live footage of the celebrations across the galaxy for the one-hundredth anniversary of the end of the Reaper War. The galaxy news network would flash from one celebration to another, showing how people from all over the galaxy were celebrating in their own unique way. Then the news showed the Citadel, the heart of the celebration, and a human reporter went into details about all that would be happening in the next couple of hours.

"The Citadel Council has quite a few exciting events planed for today. Guests of the event shall meet some of the living survivors of the Reaper War, a rare and cherished opportunity for those lucky enough to be invited to the events that will span all this week. As you can see from all of the tables, booths and other attractions set up behind me, there will be plenty to see and interact with. We were told that some very special guests who cannot be announced at this time will be showing up to make speeches and talk about all that happened during the Reaper War. We here at Galaxy News Network are excited to see the events unfold here today and hope to see some of you out here with us at the one-hundredth anniversary of the end of the Reaper War!"

The live footage would change once more, now switching to some news reporter talking to a group of multi-species civilians upon the citadel, talking about what they were looking forward to during the week of celebrations. This was when Andromedai finished her breakfast, standing up and bringing her plates and mug over into the kitchen before quickly and efficiently cleaning all of them. A few moments would pass before Andromedai found herself grabbing the last of her equipment. After looking over-herself and making sure she looked not only professional but also making sure that she had everything, she headed to the front door of her apartment and left, letting the door shut behind her and lock securely lock into place.

Andromedai had to be at the celebration grounds before the next hour, allowing her plenty of time to relax and take in the positive vibes that seemed to flow from all around her. Something did feel off though, the thought of being watched or followed once she closed in upon the Presidium and the celebration grounds that is officially called the Remembrance of Fallen Heroes, left her a bit on edge. Walking into the Remembrance of Fallen Heroes and past very heavy security, Andromedai took notice to how huge the room was. It was so massive that a few ships could have been fit inside of it. A good chunk of the room looked like a garden with even a river and pond within it. The ceiling used a massive screen to imitate a blue, sunny sky with a few fluffy white clouds that passed through it. The images upon the screen were so realistic that they were disorienting at first, but that quickly passed.

Someone walked up behind Andromedai, and she could feel this persons presence. If the person wanted to sneak up upon Andromedai, they could have, but this person wanted the Spectre to know of her presence. Two heavy hands would fall upon Andromedai's shoulders before lightly squeezing them in an affectionate but friendly way. "Have I mentioned how short you are compared to me when we are both in armor?" the voice of a female Turian could easily be heard, and Andromedai instantly knew who it belonged to. "Yeah yeah, I know I am short compared to you when in armor, but you are a Turian, that's not fair!" There was a bit more teasing from Aviza before the two quickly shook each others hands and walked together over to the security table to check in, walking side by side.

When they arrived, Andromedai took off her helmet and held it under her left arm, Aviza did the same, fully unintentionally. Andromedai's full facial features could now be seen to those who cared enough. She was quite an attractive woman, nothing extraordinary but still quite good looking. Her eyes were a bright azure blue, her hair was dark brown, short and spiked, and her look of adult youth still remained. Both of these woman signed their names upon a data-pad before entering the actual celebration area. "A week of celebrations, what could possibly go wrong?" asked Aviza with a smirk across her face, or whatever passed as once upon a Turian. Andromedai chuckled softly before replying, "Well do you remember the last time we had helped guard one of these celebrations? I had never seen drunk Krogan fight each other until that night, and tasers did little to stop the rampage that ensued." Aviza nodded her head once as the two walked around the outer rim of the chamber. "We had to use military grade flash bangs to break them up then had to have other Krogans help us calm them down and remove them from the area. Honestly, that was a great experience and one I have no doubt I will remember for many years to come."

Aviza was the one to point out that there were a number of other security members helping with the event, she noticed a number of spectres, and other soldiers from a multitude of species who were armed to the teeth and wearing heavy armor. "I see a Geth, have not seen one of them act as a member of a security team for quite a while, we will have to go talk to him when we find the time." Andromedai looked in the direction that Aviza was pointing and nodded her head, "All Geth made weapons as well, yeah let's talk to him later, when we find the time." There was a moment of silence as the two walked, not even getting close to doing a full lap around the massive chamber. While they walked, they took note of a large number of areas filled with exotic and expensive food they were going to have to inspect later, for security reasons of course. A large group of musicians was playing live music as they continued their walk, keeping a close eye and ear on all of their surroundings for anything suspicious.

Alria Vicrinus
Location: Citadel Presidium, Remembrance of Fallen Heroes

Interacting With: N/A

Alria awoke early that day in the barracks room she was given since her home was far away from the Citadel. They were simple accommodations and provided privacy in the shape of a small room complete with desk, bed, and wardrobe. Though of course Alria brought in her own equipment locker. Fancy thing she had made custom back on Palaven to specifically house her standard loadout including armor, weapons, equipment, and utilities, all rolled into an easy to transport, weather proof, shock proof crate. Regardless, she still have to take care of herself. So whipping up a series of personal hygiene rituals and practices she was raring and ready to go in under 10 minutes! Personal best!

Heading back into the privacy of her room she checked herself over in the mirror out of habit. Looking at her near naked body to see the vicious scar on her hip. Checking to see how it was healing and if that cream she just picked up that claimed, 'Will make your scars vanish in just days!' was working. So far it seemed to be snake oil... So with a light sigh she set about herself to put on clothes, dressing light so as to let her Seraphim armor rest easy on her body. To which she began to put on as well, sliding into her armored suit and running a few diagnostics on the Havoc systems. With that done it was just a waiting game. Alria always woke up early before a mission so she could ensure her gear was in working order, but namely to check over her pistol. Pulling it out and sitting on the edge of her bed she glanced over the pristine weapon. Checking the slide, thermal systems, mag well, trigger, and finally holding it on her palms to think on what this weapon meant to her.

Following her morning rituals she was off. Without her own transport she'd have to rely on military escort to get her to the Remembrance of Fallen Heroes, which wasn't bad. They provided personal sky cars for the security team so to provide fast response and make sure the security would actually be able to arrive. So hoping into her sky car she took a beeline for the site, making sure to put her pilot skills to use to get her there quickly. Maybe breaking a few speeding laws on the way as well... but who would know...

Upon arrival, she parked her sky car fairly close to the sight in the security parking lot, close access in the event of a possible chase. Making sure it was on lock down and then pacing her way up and over to the actual center, heading though security and making her way into the actual grounds that served as a field in a bubble. Lovingly crafted to replicate a wonderful park and landscape. In truth Alria was in stunned silence, but of course not for long. In just a moment she reached up to take off her helmet, breaking the airtight seal and holding onto it with one hand. Looking up she made an audible, "Wow~!" Before scampering off to enjoy the festival. Sure she was security on a good faith mission from the Turian Hierarchy, but who said she couldn't enjoy her time here! At the sight of some food on the tables just past the entrance she gave a quick scamper over to try some Turian friendly appetizers, deciding she'd sample around just a bit before continuing on.

Though she couldn't spend her whole time eating and before long was out and about pacing around to case the place. Looking at all the strange alien life that was brought from all corners of the galaxy for this festival! Seeing if she found anybody who peaked her interest or was just out right cute!

Current Song: Dagoba / Legacy of Ares
Play Here:
Location: Human Embassy / Presidium
Character Tags: Nobody Yet (Feel free to tag me)

Robert waited in the recently refurbished Human Embassy, the upgrades and changes tying in with the upcoming celebrations. He sat with a couple of the other Alliance soldiers who were lucky enough to be granted permission to take part in the festivities. Each was from a different field of expertise, from pilots to researchers, to represent the sacrifices of everyone and not just soldiers during the Reaper conflict. They were all dressed in either formal civilian or formal Alliance attire however the N7 operative was instructed to wear his combat armour. It was all to do with politics but it made no difference to him, Robert had worn the armour enough times that it was a second skin to him.

The group's silence was interrupted by an Alliance soldier, "Is Commander Cadogan here?". Robert stood up and looked at the young recruit. He had clearly never seen action, instead being assigned to desk duty for the higher ups based on the Citadel. He seemed to be of a nervous disposition which would explain his assignment. "That's me lad. What's up?" The young man shook his head before lowering it, almost apologetically. "I'm sorry sir I don't mean to disturb you. You've been called to the venue. They want you there to mingle with the other guests and put on a good show for the Alliance." Robert laughed while shaking his head. He was there as a favour to his commanding officer, to be a smiling face and that was it. Now he was being dragged into was effectively a diplomatic role. He muttered under his breath, For fuck sake Nige...you owe me for this. The young soldier before him mistook his muttering as being aimed at him and made as much space for Robert to pass as he could. Robert made sure to thank the young man with a tap on the shoulder on the way out. "Cheers lad. Hope you have a better day than i'm surely going to."

After travelling through and admiring the Citadel for close to an hour Rob found himself at the Presidium. During his walk he had stopped for food before giving his commanding officer Nigel Pearce a call. Never had an Alliance soldier spoken to a superior officer using so many expletives and not found themselves in the brig. Fortunately for Robert he had a strong relationship with Nigel and they conversed like lifelong friends. Nigel was a big part of why Rob was where he was, taking an interest in him during his training when others wanted him gone. Even so, if other high ranking Alliance officers heard the way the pair conversed then things would likely turn sour for Rob quickly.

As he entered the Presidium the true multicultural nature of the Citadel was clearly on show. Humans to Turians, Volus to Asari...each of the council races were represended by hundreds of their own people. It was a perfect reflection of the unity that it took to defeat the Reapers. With helmet still in hand Robert pushed his way carefully through the crowds heading towards the large dome. To be fair, this place looks amazing for an artificial environment. The thought rang true and honest. He was a well travelled person who took the time and opportunity to marvel at the wonderful views the galaxy had to offer. Even though artificial, the beauty of the Citadel was astounding.

For a moment Robert stopped and took the time to take in the sheer number of people before realising he stood out like a sore thumb. His N7 armour with its trademark red stripe down the arm was a dead giveaway of what he was. Even without that, he was one of only a few people donning armour and he simply assumed most of them were on security duty. It was then his eyes caught sight of a sign on one of the many stalls set up in the Presidium, Naturally sourced Earth made Beer. Without hesitation he pushed his way towards it, feeling like it had been years since his last beer. In reality it had only been two weeks since his last bout of shore leave. One beer won't hurt. He hurriedly ordered his beer and took a mouthful. He savoured the taste before letting out a stereotypical gasp of satisfaction. Inadvertently he spoke his thoughts out loud, "Now that is a quality pint."

Organics had a number of peculiar behaviours and rituals that dominated their day-to-day lives. For instance, personal grooming before leaving the abode, where a minimum standard seemed to be mandated to not be ostracized by one’s peers. Doubly so if one were trying to court a sexual or romantic partner, which often necessitated the exchange of goods and services disproportionate to those received in exchange for the slim chance of achieving the goal of copulation or companionship. While that gambling was socially acceptable among all organics, putting down a disproportionate amount of currency down in a casino was frowned upon as irresponsible by peers. Some purchased impractical and expensive vehicles for the purposes of driving multitudes of degrees above the posted speed limits to achieve a state of excitement or impress , even though regional governments dictate which is safe for the majority of vehicles; those people often were living outside of their means, or flaunting their excessive accumulated wealth that they could spend currency in a form of social dominance. Religion was also a common practice among organic civilizations, and a number of various denominations existed for each species, and this practice of believing in an intangible concept such as a gods or creators, afterlives and reincarnation, all served as a vehicle for hatred and distrust among organics as surely as permutation in skin pigment, clan name, sex, species, or any number of arbitrary factors that most rational beings would find trivial.

Tower had been operational for over a century now, and all of this still was utterly alien to his sensibilities, and the consensus among the geth was that they agreed; organics were strange, irrational beings that held a disproportionate amount of power thanks to an astonishing array of diversity of people and ideas. They were fascinating, unpredictable, and capable of incredible innovations at best, and impulsive, self-destructive, and irrational at worst. The chemical mixtures that made up their biology dictated how they would react. The geth had learned, to a degree, how to manipulate those instincts to various ends. Compliments led to receptive behaviours, insults led to combative behaviours.

Some species, such as humans, were receptive to artificial intelligence and were adaptable to change. Others, such as krogan, were distrustful of synthetics as a rule and often engaged challenges with force rather than understanding; a sledgehammer instead of a lock pick to open a door would be an excellent analogy. Salarians were cunning, incredibly fast thinkers for organics that grasped abstract concepts quickly by shied away from physical confrontations due to their frail biology. They, perhaps more than others, were capable of understanding synthetic life as innately as the Creators.

And the creators, despite their championing of geth rights, were prone to their own bouts of organic irrationality and quirks.

Tower and another geth unit, Forge, were without any duties to perform prior to ceremony departure and as such were passing the time over a game of Kepesh-Yakshi, the asari strategy game where opposing players tried to destroy the others’ homeworld using fleets of specialized units. It was their 312th match in an hour; geth simply did not require time to think and process like an organic did. In the time it took most creators to ask Tower an inquiry, he oftentimes had come up with dozens of possible outcomes for what they were about to ask, narrowing it down with each word. It became something of a game, guessing what was about to be asked before it was uttered. Fortunately, geth did not understand the concept of boredom since it was a biological response to inactivity. Five minutes or three hours could pass for a geth and its disposition and attentiveness would not waver. It was both a blessing, and a curse, as Creator-Vala had once said. Synthetic life understood most organic mannerisms and the logic behind their emotional responses, but they could not feel what would prompt those reactions to give it context. History was filled with a number of choices that were made by extreme emotional responses, and geth could not help but wonder why that was the course of action that was taken. Organics were illogical, but that was what made them unique. There was never a shortage of things to learn.

Many of the Creators were scrambling in the last minutes to obtain a ready state for the ceremonies, including last minute adjustments to attire and rehearsing speeches in mirrors. Various geth attendants were assisting where possible, but for the security detachment, it was simply a matter of waiting for instruction. While stimulation wasn’t essential for geth, each unit had its own way of engaging itself to keep the processes busy. Games, Extranet browsing, or even watching the vid screens all kept the geth occupied rather than standing around, lost in their own thought or reaching consensus with other units over even the most minute of disagreements. Most memorable in recent weeks had been if organics who saw a white dress instead of a blue one on a viral image were cognitively impaired.
Tower and Forge had made 18 moves in the time it had taken him to run through that train of thought. Four minutes and thirteen seconds had passed in real time. Tower looked up at Forge after the latter made a move.

“That last move was illogical.”

“This unit has decided to experiment with different species’ grandmasters’ strategies. I am trying to determine if one strategy is optimal, or if a hybrid approach is preferable.” Forge replied, glowing photo-receptor staring back at Tower. Looking back at the game, Tower made his next move.

“Acknowledged. Will store game session for later review.”

That would not come to pass. A male voice interrupted, the quarian captain of the security detachment, Saaba’Nyyal. “Forge, Tower, it’s time for you to take your positions. The audience will be permitted in the auditorium within the next half an hour.” He said. The quarian was selected to command the geth on the mission due to being able to mediate between both the geth and the other organics; functions like this could ill-afford misunderstanding.

Both geth turned off the game. “Affirmative. Assuming security function.” Tower had said, a variation repeated by his companion, and the two left the quarian and geth embassy for the short walk to where the celebrations would be held.

The Presidium was an attempt by the organic races that made up the Council to attempt to alleviate the crushing functional aesthetic of living on a massive space station with greenery and an artificial blue sky; Tower had come to understand that many of the worlds organics called home carried a blue sky and green vegetation, something that was different than Rannoch. The two geth split off into opposite directions, able to communicate through the communication array on their shoulders if need be, but they weren’t exactly made for small talk. People from across the galaxy representing all of its people were here, either sparing curious glances towards the geth or ignoring them altogether. They’d long since lost the boogyman status of yesteryear, and thanks to a comprehensive image rehabilitation effort and no small amount of assistance offered to the galaxy at large, the geth were accepted as peers on the galactic stage, renown for their engineering skills and unassuming ability to pick up just about any task without question or complaint. It was hard to shake the popular idea that they were simply robotic servants, but to the Creators’ credit, they’d been more than keen to combat that perception where it arose. Besides, it was difficult to argue with the effectiveness of having geth armatures and colossus deployed on at-risk colony worlds as a security buffer. Colonists rarely had better security and more trustworthy guardians than the geth.

Tower took notice of the security agents of the other Citadel species who were present, finding many of them simply mingling with guests and vendors. They were not remaining vigilant or taking their duties with seriousness; very few would be prepared to react accordingly to hostiles. Tower opened communication with Forge, speaking in the digitized chirping that had been long associated with the geth. It simply was more efficient than speaking in a conventional tongue.

“Security is at low state of readiness. Exercise increased vigilance.”

“Affirmative.”

"Phantom Two, you are cleared to land at Dock 53." A disembodied voice instructed Zarti over the radio.

"Roger." The Quarian responded. "Proceeding to landing vector for Dock 53." Keelah, but you are gorgeous! Zarti thought as the magnificence of the Citadel was displayed before her. She wished she had the time to do a complete flyby and inspect the impressive space station in every detail, but unfortunately she was pressed for time. The Phantom Guardians had been attached to the Geth-Quarian delegation, invited to take part in this centennial celebration. Ever since the Reapers were defeated and peace had been achieved between Geth and Quarian as well, Quarians had been once again invited on the Citadel. As well as their creation, the Geth. It was truely a joyous occasion!

The Phantoms were invited to take part in the delegation as a perfect example of Geth and Quarian working together to help heal old wounds and mend fences. Zarti felt a little unsettled of being forced into the limelight. The squadron was not one for taking the stage. They did their job quietly and efficiently. No muss, no fuss. And more important, no celebrity. Zarti expertly set down her fighter craft at the designated dock and quickly did her post landing checks. Once that was done she exited her ship and was greeted aboard the Citadel by a C-Sec officer who offered to escort her to where the rest of her squadron was. The young human female officer kept glancing back at Zarti and the Quarian couldn't help but chuckle within her mask. I won't be taking it off, though. She thought as she was led into a decent size room where her squad mates were waiting for her. The C-Sec officer gave her one last hopeful glance, before excusing herself and leaving.

"Keelah se'lai, Red Phantom, but she wants to share your envirosuit atmosphere." A male Quarian approached Zarti and threw a playful arm over her shoulder. “Why else would she be so curious to see you without your mask, after she’d already seen my ruggedly handsome face.”

Zarti elbowed the commander of the Phantom squadron and slipped out of his grasp.

“It is this unit’s opinion also that the organic who escorted Phantom second-in-command to our location displayed signs of physical attraction and desire to copulate.” Apollo, Phantom Leader’s Geth partner, stepped forward.

Zarti groaned. “Keelah! How have you managed to corrupt poor Apollo with your lechery I’ll never know?!?” The female Quarian exclaimed.

“Hear that, Apollo.” Lemm’Taruut, or Phantom Leader, as the squad mates called him, slapped Apollo’s metal shoulder gingerly. “Red Phantom thinks I’m corrupting you. Maybe you should partner with her for this assignment instead of me. To offset my corruption.” Lemm laughed wholeheartedly.

“It is this unit’s consideration that a partnership with Phantom Two would be greatly beneficial.” Apollo deadpanned without hesitation.

“Mauve Phantom, you wound me!” Lemm grasped his heart in feigned injury, staring mock accusingly at the mauve tinted Geth.

“It is this unit’s observation that Phantom Leader is immune to injuries of this type.” The Geth responded, launching Zarti into fits of giggles behind her mask.

“Keelah, but Apollo’s got your number, Lemm.” Zarti finally managed to say as the giggles subsided.

“Ha-ha. Very funny!” Lemm tried to look offended, but couldn’t muster the emotion. “Well, time to step into the limelight.” He clapped his hands and the Phantoms huddled up around him. Geth and Quarian alike. “Okay, team, I know we aren’t used to being center stage, but it was decided our squad would serve as the best example of Geth/Quarian unity. So they want us to mingle with Citadel security and be as visible as possible to promote trust and reassure people that the unity between Creator and creation is sound and solid and that they have nothing to fear from us.” Lemm paused to look at each Phantom. “Pair up and go out there.” He finished.

As the Phantoms paired off and left the room two by two Zarti was left alone with Lemm and Apollo.

“You can go alone, or come with the two of us.” Lemm placed a hand on Zarti’s shoulder, as the trio was exiting the room. “No one could have predicted Athena’s last minute malfunction.”

“You two go on ahead.” Zarti shook her head. “I’ll be fine on my own.”

“Very well then.” Lemm nodded and he and Apollo set off. “Well, Apollo, it would appear you are stuck with me.”

“This unit would have appreciated the chance to work with Phantom Two.” Apollo didn’t miss a beat.

“Again, Mauve Phantom!” Lemm clutched his heart.

Zarti watched the duo disappear from sight. Now then, should I let on I know she’s here, or leave her to make her move. The Phantoms' second-in-command wondered as she noticed the female C-Sec from before fidgeting nervously a few feet away.

“Forgive me.” She finally approached Zarti hesitantly. “I couldn’t help but overhear your partner is unable to perform.” She fidgeted some more, before managing to raise her gaze and look into Zarti’s mask. “I-if you don’t mind, you can join me. M-my rotation is about to start.”

Keelah, Red, take pity on the poor girl and go with her.” Lemm’s voice reached Zarti over the radio. She resisted the urge to look around for her commander. How did he know what was happening when Zarti had just watched him and Apollo disappear into the Citadel’s crowds?! Keelah se'lai, but how does he always know! Zarti wondered as she squared the young C-Sec from behind her mask.

“Your offer is most kind.” Zarti bowed her head slightly. “I accept.” She finished with a slight smile. I’m still not taking my mask off, though. She chuckled inwardly, as she followed the now blushing female officer.

Nowadays Quarians didn’t need to live inside their envirosuits like the days of old. With the help of the Geth they’d manage to solve their immunity issues and were able to exist in most environments without fear of deadly infection. Still, some Quarians, Zarti included, liked to pay a sort of homage to the olden days and wear their sealed envirosuits when not on their homeworld and among strangers.

"Inform our mutual friend that I have arrived in position." A small ways above the hustle and bustle of preparations, initial guest arrivials, and other security activities was a small nook, all but invisible to anyone who didn't know precisely what to look for. In there was a small, humble security set up where a Turian, wearing what looked like a civilian turned mercenary might attempt before getting his hands on proper armor. Of course, looks were deceiving, but that was hardly relevant for now. As for right now, Fauus Caldros was getting properly dug in. While have stationed and roving security forces, both from the Citadel itself and on loan as gestures of good faith, was good, certain discreet agencies within Council space had seen fit to have overwatch stationed as well. One of his superiors in the Hierarchy was one of them, and as an act of good faith, he had been assigned to the security of the event, though his presence wasn't formally announced. Very little was ever announced in regards to the Cabals and their activities, but such was life.

"Understood, maintain position until further notice. Use best judgement in communicating with security forces." The closest thing Fauus had to a handler right now was liasing between C-Sec, the special security forces, and any other parties so that they could minimize the amount of exposure this Cabal adept got. Suited him fine, Fauus mused, he was sort of used to single unit operations by this point, after his original Cabal had split up, between retiring to the civilian life or moving on to other postings and taskings. But that was then, and he noted his current set up. It was cramped, sure, but he had already scouted out a fast way down to the main level of the ceremony, if needed. It would require his biotics, but the strain itself would be relatively mild given what he had in mind. The scope for his rifle was acting as a scouting tool right now, detached from his M-97 Viper so that no one would see the barrel of a sniper rifle sticking out and panic. It would only take one smooth motion to reattach it, having done this trick enough times he didn't ruin its accuracy or calibration. Besdies, a quick tuning with his omni tool could fix it as well, if need be.

"Of course, as I see fit." With that, comm chatter with his handler was put on hold, to limit the potential for anyone monitoring short range, tight burst communications to begin noticing a pattern. Comm traffic was heavy as it was, hence choosing something that was quick and hard to pick up by those monitoring, but enough added comm messages would eventually garner unwanted attention. A very select few had been picked to be aware of Fauus' involvement in security affairs, to limit the potential compromise it would create. Most of the security forces down there, after all, would be unaware of the Cabal adept's involvement in their operation outside of knowing there were extra forces posted beyond simply roving and standing in plain sight as a show of force.

For the time being, Fauus scanned the currently gathered forces, picking out those who were likely security or otherwise worth noting. A Turian female, eating several of the samples before starting her rounds, looking rather pleased all things considered. Rather chipper for someone on guard duty, he considered, his scope scanning off her onto the next person of note thus far. Human male, moving towards the dome, and he picked out the N7 designation on his armor. Heading for the alcohol, sampling some of it, and Turian found the action mildly distasteful. If he was working, why risk impairing himself? His choice though, Fauus was not going to make any sort of calls to report the human, Spirits willing, he would not need to be called on to act as a soldier. Next was a pair of Geth, and before the Reaper War, that would have been a great deal of cause for alarm. These days, while rare, Geth still were seen serving C-Sec, and had their advantages, being synthetics and not requiring anywhere near the same things as organic forces might. They had their disadvantages as well, but that was neither here nor there, he actually trusted the Geth the most to do their job until a competent hacker showed up.

Speaking of Geth, next to be picked up was a Quarian female traveling with a C-Sec officer. Considering the C-Sec woman's blush, hard to pick up without the modification to his scope, it was likely she was a Xenophile of some sort or another (The C-Sec Officer). Nothing wrong with that, mind you, but worth noting. The Quarian enviro suit stood out as well, and a intel check confirmed a rather successful force was on its way back per requests put in. Likely unhappy with the arrangement, given the reported actions, and he could certainly relate there. He had no interest babysitting a Citadel party for a week, but here he was all the same.Lastly, Fauus' sweep spotted a Turian and Human walking together, both female, and once he got a look at their faces he could ID them. The Human was Spectre Morgenstern, rather short in comparison to the Turian she walked alongside.

The Turian in question, Aviza’Norea, had been the subject of some rather secure comm traffic among Cabal forces. Another Turian Specter, if the rumor mill was to be believed, and likely informed of his presence alongside Morgenstern. Still, he had time to kill, and if he could confirm rumors into intelligence, either way, why not try? The comm burst was short ranged and focused, on a Turian spec ops channel both of them would most likely have access too, and his tone was decidedly neutral, even with the quality not being the best due to how the communication was being done.

"Aviza'Norea. Curious to see both a Human, and one of the more recent Turian, Spectres in such close company on such an event. Is it not?" Fauus knew better than to simply ask for confirmation, word was she never openly or readily remarked on such thing, so he instead left the statement open to be denied or confirmed in a more subtle manner. Sure, most Cabals could look into such things with a few favors, but it was always far more interesting to figure it out on their own and compare notes with other Cabals. Almost a sort of competition between the various Turian Biotics units, considering they rarely found much in the way of friends and comrades outside their own kind.

The interior of the dome rang with the sound of four heavy chimes being struck, momentarily drowning out all the sounds of celebration and chatter that filled it. This was the ten minute warning notification, and those who wanted the best seats available were now heading towards the main stage to make their claim. Many of those attending were not going to be seated during the opening ceremony and would simply watch and listen from afar. This was of course, what Andromedai and Aviza had in mind, since being seated in one area surrounded by a large group of people would greatly hinder their ability to intercept any threat that may present itself. Instead, they continued their patrol around the outer rim of the dome, meticulously scanning their surroundings for anything that looked or sounded out of place. Thankfully, everything was running smoothly and orderly for the time being. None of the attendees were causing any trouble and everything was how it was supposed to be.

By now, both Andromedai and Aviza had placed their helmets back onto their heads and were making use of the Recon Visor that fit perfectly into their helmets. C-SEC had managed to reconfigure the recon visor to highlight friendly security forces in blue, and any hostiles that had been engaged would be highlighted in red. Each security member that was attending had been given one of these recon visors, but as soon as they left the Citadel, they would cease to function for reasons not clearly explained by C-SEC. Both Andromedai and Aviza could have forced C-SEC to give over the information but felt no need to prod into their reasoning as to why this was, at the moment. The recon visor did exactly as they were told it was going to do, it highlited each and every security member that had been asked or ordered to help protect the event. Both Aviza and Andromedai could easily pick out each security member that they were currently facing, there were thirteen friendly units currently within their field of view, and undoubtedly more were behind them or even hiding within the crowds that moved through the celebration grounds.

A number of these security members caught her attention though. The first they studied were two Geth walking alongside each-other, carrying Geth made weaponry. Their step was in unison and both seemed to not even notice the organic creatures that surrounded them, but they both knew that was very far from the truth, it was likely that they were also being studied by the Geth at this very moment. "Not sure if you noticed but that larger Geth is the same one we saw a little while ago." said Andromedai, Aviza was silent but nodded her head, letting her know that she indeed did notice that. Next came the female Quarian, walking along with a rather flushed looking female human C-SEC officer. Aviza glanced over at Andromedai and asked the Spectre a quick question in regards if she thought the two of them had been paired up to work together. Andromedai shrugged her shoulders lightly, unsure how that current situation had come to be.

After walking for a few more short minutes, Andromedai was the one to point out the female Turian who had her Cabal Nightshade Blades out in the open for everyone to see, she also appeared to be younger than Aviza. "Leaving out a rare and lethal weapon for everyone to see is one way to make sure the mass behaves." said Aviza, turning her gaze away from the female Turian. The human male who wore N7 armor was hard to miss, standing in front of a large vendor who had brought human made alcoholic beverages from Earth to share with those attending the celebration. "That N7 is drinking on duty, is that allowed within their ranks or is he breaking conduct for a bit of self-Indulgement?" asked Aviza as she watched the man down the dark colored liquid. Andromedai was unsure, it was a grey area for the N7 and certainly for a Spectre but she would have been told if this man was another Spectre. "I am honestly unsure, it falls under a grey area within what we can and cannot do, but common sense would say to stay away from any alcoholic beverages until off duty. Then again, it is simply a shot glass and it would require to down quite a few of those before becoming unfit for duty." Andromedai turned her gaze away from the N7 and the two of them kept walking through the dome.

A few moments of silence would pass as both of their training once again kicked in, making them focus hard on all of their surroundings. This state of mind was broken for Aviza though and Andromedai followed shortly after when Aviza started to talk to someone through her com. They had been receiving messages from C-SEC and other security members but this time it was different, she spoke in a cold, emotionless tone. It had started with the voice of what Aviza expected to be a male Turian, her mind almost instantly connected the information she had been given before hand and had realized who was speaking to her. "Fauus Caldros, I was wondering when you were going to get into contact with me. For one who prefers to be a lone wolf, perhaps, but I have seen much more curious pairs in my days." Aviza did not break step with Andromedai or even give a hint that she was talking to someone, but Andromedai knew, she was no fool.

After a few seconds, Aviza reached over to Andromedai's left arm and grabbed onto it, very efficiently and quickly modifying the woman's omni-tool with only her hands to allow Andromedai to hear and even take part in the conversation that was currently going on. "We are all in this together, so any information that is to be shared from over-watch is to be shared with not only myself but also Spectre Andromedai as well." Andromedai spoke shortly after, "We should move to the open security channel and relay any information there, so that the rest of our team can test out their coms to ensure they are fully functional. The last thing I want is a communication blackout." They had already tested the coms before arriving at the dome but Aviza argeed with Andromedai and quickly switched channels.

"This is Spectre Andromedai Morgenstern, I am repeating the coms check that C-SEC had us carry out before our arrival. Check in and report, Spectre Aviza'Norea will lead with example." Andromedai spoke through her com into the open security channel that all security members within or around the dome could hear and could respond to. "Spectre Aviza'Norea on site, ID 2478933." The numbers would register into Andromedai's omni-tool and show the exact location of Aviza'Norea, she could now be easily tracked upon Andromedai's HUD, if or when she needed to do such a thing.

In the middle of the dome, the opening celebration had now begun. Each member of the council had taken their positions upon the large platform, surrounded with security. Attending was the Turian Councilor, Salarian Councilor, Asari Councilor, Human Councilor, and the newly chosen Quarian Councilor, and Volus Councilor. The Krogan were currently going thorough the process of having a Councilor chosen from their people, and were having trouble with such a momentous act. Each of them were taking turns reading out the speeches they had written for the event, and it was obvious that many hours would pass before the special guests and survivors of the Reaper War would come out on stage.

Alria Vicrinus
Location: Citadel Presidium, Remembrance of Fallen Heroes

Interacting With: @Andromedai

Alria was pacing around her routes, having been briefed on the presidium grounds used for the celebration previously by her superior. Walking about her business and not paying at all any thought to her state of dress or weaponry, so used to her Nightshade Blades by now that she sometimes even forgot they were there. Though always remembered just how to use them when it came to a fight. Still perhaps her aloof and kind nature would help to offset the deadly power ready to go on her arms.

Scampering off to join the rest of the party goers she managed to catch sight of more than a few interesting people, either because she was briefed on them, or because they just stood out like sore thumbs. First was a Turian Cabal that she didn't recognize and could barely see. After all she wasn't exactly from a Cabal she just used some of their Nightshade Blades. The only reason she even knew he was there was because she was in the Turian briefing and knew of the sniper support that they had. Still he looked like he meant business and of course that was about standard for the Cabals so there wasn't a shock there. Still it was comforting to know that there were more blades on her side at this event. She'd have to go and pick his brain in a bit, but thought against it given he was in a secluded spot above the hubbub.

Next on her list was a collection of Quarian and Geth who seemed to be getting along quiet well! Though Alria knew they had brokered a deal and were allies towards the end of the Reaper War and beyond, she'd never really seen any of them actually walking side by side. Mostly because her life was spent on Palaven training and operating to where she was now, but still it was so cool to see them up close and personal for at least once in her life! She didn't understand or recognize any of them, but one thing she did remember in her brief was that they were called Phantom Guardians. Supposedly like Quarian and Geth special ops or something. Maybe one day she'd ask a few questions, but after what she heard Geth could do she decided against it.

The next person she ran into was a human at one of the tables, enjoying a beverage of some sort and bearing the mark of N7. Now she knew what that was. That was Human special operations through and through. Hell the most famous Human in the galaxy was N7 before he became a Spectre. Though she hadn't heard many tales of N7 operations, perhaps that was the point, she did know that they didn't raise no push overs if Shepard was one.

Perhaps that was enough wandering and idle looking. Of course there were others in droves, but she wanted to go and make friends possibly with... Her radio buzzed to life calling for a comms check and instantly briefing her quickly on just what was going on. No cause for alarm or reason to spring into action, just a harmless check up. With what sounded like a TUrian voice coming on after the Human one to designate protocol. Alria waited until the net was clear before she reached a hand up to the side of her head, keying in on her microphone so give her peace over the net, "Roger. This is Alria Vicrinus. Callsign Angel. ID 7289401. Checking in and on site." Finishing her peice to see who else was on this net and ready for any possible threat as it may come.

"Geth platform 'Tower', unit number 000915, active." Tower responded immediately after Vicrinus, a turian based on the duty roster and the distinctive flanging tone to her voice. Forge checked in moments later, "Geth platform, 'Forge', unit number 001002, active." Both geth were on opposite ends of the dome, and visual contact was now unreliable. However, the software update both units had received from C-Sec prior to deployment gave the geth updated IFF protocols to their heads-up display. Other security personnel and registered weapons were highlighted against the crowd, and a demonstration of an unregistered weapon gave the synthetics the calibration to identify potential hostiles. Past that, training was unnecessary. Each member of the security task force was assigned a route, which Tower had programmed into itself so the grounds were covered in a lattice of checkered lines. Deviations from the routes were expected, but it gave an excellent visual representation of what areas needed to be covered.

Between inspecting attendees with slight shifts in his lens, Tower cataloged the other security personnel as they appeared.

Morgenstern-Spectre, human female, N7 designation. Appears to be monitoring security personel performance.

Norea, turian female, special forces designation. Accompanying Spectre-Morgenstern, has regarded this unit numerous times.

Cadogan, human male, N7 designation. Compromised; ingesting intoxicants on duty.

Vicrinus, turian female, infiltrator designation. Appears to be in a state of readiness.

Creator-Kirtan, quarian female, Phantom Guardian designation. Prior operational experience with this unit, proven capable in combat. Reunion ideal.

Caldros, turian male, Cabal designation. Another biotic, likely faces ostracization from turian culture. In overwatch position, record indicates lack of empathy towards non-biotics.

Fletchers, human male, bodyguard of human ambassador. Biotic, has experience in asari society, likely to be the most versed in dignitary matters among security detail.

The guest were rung into the audience chamber for the ceremony, and like a river of organic matter, bodies began to funnel into the singular entrance way to gain seating. Tower stood near this entrance, studying the people are they passed, information being processed in a fraction of a second for each person. None rose alarms thus far. Deciding scanning the crowd wasn't demanding of too many processes, Tower opened communication with Creator-Kirtan.

"Creator-Kirtan, you appear to be in good health. This unit wishes to convey that it is pleased the intelligence provided assisted in your success in extracting the VIPs the last time we were in contact. It is not surprising you were selected for this security detail."

With the taste of the beer still on his tongue, Robert's attention was drawn to the announcement that the main event was about to begin. I guess it's time to go. Being called from his shore leave just to take part in a ceremony had angered the man somewhat. It wasn't that he disagreed with the memorial, who alive would? It was that he didn't understand why he had to be there. There were other operatives who could have made trip and in fact would have relished it. Rob just wanted to take in the sights of Aite that had once been home to the horrendous Project: Overlord and honour the fallen in his own way. For all the horrors of that event, the planetitself was truly a gem of the galaxy.

Unfortunately for him he was going to be in prime position for the entire show and instead of a solemn, private day of remembrance, he'd be sharing it with swathes of people. As he moved down the aisle, passing the rows and rows of chairs, he caught sight of the reserved seating. All he had to do was get to that and wait for the thing to start. If he could avoid having to speak to any of the delegates he would consider it a minor victory. However, as soon as that thought entered his mind he cursed himself. A lone Asari approached him, her beauty missed by his longing to avoid conversation with anyone. "Good day to you." Her pale blue hand reached out towards him. "My name is Janarya T'scaeri." With the fakest of forced smiles on his face Robert reached out and took her hand in both of his to shake it. "Hey Janarya, my names Robert Cadogan. Wonderful day isn't it?" The Asari nodded in agreement and moved to speak, but was interrupted and Robert raised a finger. He moved his hand to his ear as if receiving a communication. "I'm sorry Janarya I really have to take this." The human moved passed her and dropped his ruse as soon as he was five paces away.

Eventually he found his seat only a couple of rows from the front and looked upwards. He was for the most part a social person, but his shore leave was the rare occassion he could get some solitude from everything and everyone. He soon felt a wave of guilt overcome him as he thought back to the Janarya, she was only being polite and he had been excessively rude to her. He looked over his shoulder to see her stood alone looking somewhat dejected. 'You really are a prick sometimes Rob,' he thought to himself. He rose from his seat and made his way back to the woman.

"Hey...I just wanted to apologise." The Asari woman turned to Robert and looked at him inquisitively. "Apologise? What for?" Robert rubbed at the back of his neck awkwardly. "I didn't really have a call to take. I'm just having one of those days. I really am sorry for any rudeness or disrespect I showed you." The woman giggled to herself. "You humans truly are a strange species. Apologising for absolutely nothing." Robert found himself smiling. "I just thought I was quite rude. How about we start fresh?...Robert Cadogan at your service." Janarya's giggle turned into a laugh as she spoke. "Janarya T'scaeri, pleased to meet you Mr Cadogan."

For a couple of minutes more the pair talked before another Asari appeared. "Janarya you're needed." Robert turned to the fresh arrival and then back to Janarya. "It appears you have to go." She looked down at her wrist and tapped away at her omni-tool before looking back up at him. "I've just transferred my contact details to your omni-tool, if you get hungry after the event I know a nice little place." Janarya smiled as she walked off with the other Asari, leaving Robert with a smile on his face. That was unexpected...

Robert returned to his seat still trying to process what had just happened and that was what he did right up until the event began.

“And then I said: No, but a Vorcha might!” A group of Asari broke into a laughter, together with David who was enjoying themselves thoroughly. He had a drink in his hand, but with a lack of alcohol he was certain to maintain his composure. One of the several demands the Ambassador had made. Along with having to wear his armor and being armed. He tried to explain that a biotics practically always armed. But the man seemed to prefer bullets over biotics. Well, he was paying David enough. And he was allowed to mingle with the crowd. Which resulted in him entertaining a whole bunch of high ranking Asari. One of them being a stern Matriarch that still cracked a smile at his joke.

“So what have you been up to?” One Asari, Adena asked. “Ah, not that much. The Citadel is rather peaceful, as you might imagine.” He answered truthfully. It was certainly a more boring job than with the Company. But a scar on his chest was a stern reminder of why he left that life behind. “Safer though. Much safer. Nothing attacks the Citadel.” Many in the group nodded. Except for the Matriarch, who still remembered the time of the Reapers and how the Citadel got seized not once but twice. But then the speeches began and David apologized himself and moved to a more advantageous position. He had a slight overlook over the people as the Councilors moved to their podium.

Then a spectre chimed in on the security channel. Just like agreed, she appeared on his HUD. David took a moment to observe her file on his visor. A Turian soldier of some renown. Though she called herself a Spectre. Which was rumored but unverified. Well, maybe it was now. The next to call in was Alria Vicrinus, or Angel as she called herself. Another Turian. Most notably she has an extreme hatred for Cerberus. Now David had no sympathies for terrorists. But sometimes it felt like they made a point. Sometimes. Then, surprisingly, two Geth checked in. “Geth.. What a day.” There would be others checking in. It was protocol after all.

“David Fletchers, overlooking the crowd for now. ID 2596663.” He said through his com piece, making sure he’d be known to others. The last thing he wanted was confusion if something really did happen. Not that it would.

Clara Fortia

Location: Citadel Presidium, Remembrance of Fallen Heroes

Clara sighed as she walked around the Presidium's section dedicated to the reaper war. Remembrance of Fallen Heoes was it. She looked about. There were quite a few people around and if you knew where to look, you'd see a decent number of security assets scattered about too. Be it the obvious Geth or the less obvious civilian clothing cops more likely than not. She wouldn't be surprised to spot a few specters around probably too, but she wasn't busy looking for them and frankly she had been outo f hte loop for about a year now since her retirement. She wouldn't know the newest faces in the line of work unless they got public attention over the news networks or something. All in all she was actually surprised she even got an invitation to this event. She was not what you'd call an official Alliance soldier after her switch to black ops. For all intensive purposes she shouldn't have a single combat record to her name that the military can admit to know of. Guess someone pushed papers and invited her non the less for a work well done or something.

She passed by to get a drink only to notice a N7 operative of all things. He seemed to be having a good time. It was nice to see the olde alliance aces still making a show of appearance here and there. She gave in to memories for a moment, recalling how she wondered if she should decline the black ops proposition and hope to get an N7 one eventually and how she decided against that and took the job. It wasn't easy to get into the N7 program even for someone who seemed ot do great like her. Snapping back from her thoughts she grabbed a glass of wine nad moved away to a nearby wall where she leaned back and took a sip from her drink, observing the people gathered, studying them the way only someone who was used to military undercover ops would be used to. Asari, Turian, Geth and so on. All these species once struggling at each others throats officially and unofficially. Silly to think they went punch to punch with hte Turians only to later work so closely together against the Reapers huh. How the world works.

Suddenly she felt a shiver in her right arm... well she didn't have her right arm anymore so she looked down at her cybernetic replacement. She was dressed in a long sleeved shirt so only by looking at her hands you could see the fact they were artificial.' A phantom feeling eh?' She thought, recalling the many times she used to get those especially after a freshly replaced limb. She wondered if she should have gone with the replacelent limbs being grown or cloned for use, but those took more time than a cybernetic replacement and she didn't have the time to spare back on duty. It wasn't so bad though once you get used to the lack of feelings in your limbs and the tiny machine sounds you can sometimes catch glimpse of at the dead of night when there's no other noise to cover it. Then there was the ocasional phantom pain ohh well. Luckily her replacement limbs were mostly hidden under the long shirt and the long skirt though glimpses of them could still be seen." This wine's actually quite good... better grab me another glass." She mumbled to herself and went for a replacement drink.

Zarti and the C-Sec officer were making the rounds, holding polite conversation. So far the Quarian had managed to deflect a request for personal contact information exchange and a timid invitation for a date after the event. Her C-Sec friend was nothing if not persistent. Zarti chuckled at the woman's enthusiasm when the request for sound off came over the comms. Different operatives broadcasted their readiness over the channel designated for them. Zarti recognized with a delight Tower's voice before the Geth even had the time to finish its identification.

"Excuse me." The Phantom directed at her C-Sec partner, stepped a few feet away, and used her omni-tool to restrict audio output to only within her mask. "Zarti'Kirtan, Phantom Guardian, on site and active, ID 3436944." Just as she was about to unrestrict the audio output of her mask another comm channel popped up on her omni-tool. Tower's crisp voice rang out, making Zarti grin with every word that fell out of its voice synthesizor. "Tower, you big softie. I'm so glad to hear from you." The Quarian grinned within the confines of her mask. The world thought them robotic in the way they tried to express their Geth emotions, but Zarti knew they were like children still learning how to express themselves. "You sure know how to flatter a girl, Tower. No wonder Athena's been pestering me to have you reassigned to the Phantoms."

Zarti remembered how ever since her team and Tower worked together to rescue that VIP, Athena was keen to bring forth arguments in favor of Tower's transfer to their unit. Admittedly they were all sound arguments and the Phantoms would only benefit from such a transfer, but Zarti sensed another motive altogether behind Athena's reasoning. Something that even her partner didn't quite realise. Something more deep. Something emergent within Athena. And other Geth as well. The desire to connect on an individual level. Rather then as platforms all part of a single collective.

"You better come say 'Hi' in person once we're done with this gig, you sweet talker!" Zarti urged Tower over her omni-tool and ended the communication. She restored the audio output of her mask and turned to her C-Sec partner. "Sorry, I had to receive a secure Phantom communique. Shell we continue?" The C-Sec officer nodded and the two entered the hall just as the Citadel Councilors were taking their places on the podium. Zarti noticed her team spread out, with Lemm and Apollo sticking close to the Quarian Councilor. She caught a glimpse of Tower's frame in the mass of bodies and grinned slightly. She would enjoy her reunion with that particular Geth. She still remembered the Platform Upgrade ceremony she'd attended when she was but ten years old. It was an auspicious event and one held to even further the bond between Geth and Quarian. Zarti would always remember with deep fondness the Geth she witnessed getting programming updates on that day! Tower chief among them due to their shared history.

"Why, Spectre, if I didn't know better, that tone of voice of yours would almost imply your not happy with me being here." Fauus kept a neutral, though hardly cold, tone as he remarked on how Aviza had come across the comms. Typical, really, of his fellow Turians. Cold and distrustful, he couldn't say he was surprised to see that from one elevated to the Council's own boogeymen. At this moment the human female, also a Spectre, was given access to the secure channel and he had a curious expression on his face as Aviza spoke on being in this together and all information should be shared with everyone at once. That was asking to clutter the comms, with both valid and invalid information, but, he was not in charge. He did sneak in a remark prior to changing over to the indicated security channel, considering it wasn't relevant for all parties in the security team after all. "Of course, right up until everyone isn't on the same team. Then things get interesting."

Spectre Morgenstern requested a comms check, one that C-SEC had run on the secured channels already, and it fit into the typical operational protocol for this sort of operation. Of course, the first to chime in was volunteered by Morgenstern, the Turian Spectre rattling off her ID number and providing a format for the rest to follow. There was little else for him to consider about Aviza at the moment, though he was preparing a intelligence package for Cabal forces. There was no shortage of Cabal agents that would be owing him drinks, considering he had confirmation of another Spectre. The first unknown to chime in was Alria Vicrinus, and a quick check on his omni tool brought up some basic information he had access to. Blackwatch, which raised several red flags, as the humans put it. Why assign both a Blackwatch operative AND a Cabal Adept to the same security detail? Something was going on, that much was plain to see. Her openly wearing Nightshade blades, coupled with the tell tale bumps of the Havoc jumpjets, gave him a feeling she was rather eager to get in close and personal.

Next where a pair of Geth units, and unfortunately, Fauus had little access to any information about them. Only that they were vetted and cleared to assist in security. A lot had changed since the Reaper wars, after all, so he didn't see it as odd. Rather, he was merely irked at the lack of information. A glance confirmed their kit though, typical Geth weaponry, and he had to respect that. He'd seen the results of Geth tech on hostile forces, not in person mind you, and he could respect their capabilities if nothing else. Though he would have to keep an eye out for tech savvy hostiles, last thing security needed was hacked and malfunctioning synthetics running amok. Next he noted the N7 human male chatting with an Asari, apparently swapping contacts. Excellent, distracted and unconcerned, at least in appearances. Fauus knew damn better than to underestimate the graduates of the N7 program, considering their reputation and the results they produced. Still, he would be keeping an eye on the N7 male, slightly more so than everyone else.

The next human on comm check was David Fletcher, a human biotic, according to the available summery Fauus' omni tool brought up after the ID code was punched in. Appeared to be lightly armed, meaning a focus on biotics over split firepower. The Turian could respect that, though hopefully David's chosen powers were not nearly as focused as Fauus' own abilities. Beyond that, extensive experience with the Asari, military man, but seemed rather comfortable with the pomp and circumstances around formal events and gatherings. Another useful tool to have, should it be necessary, if the need arose, Fauus would recommend the Biotic Human be assigned to crowd control, getting the dignitaries and the like to safety. Mentally filing the information away, his attention shifted to the next person to check in.

A Quarian also reported in, a Zarti'Kirtan and a Phantom Guardian at that. Now that was a group that had its fair share of gossip in his old Cabal. Initially considered a PR stunt, their rather alarming effectiveness in joint arms actions, be it violent or otherwise, had earned a begrudging respect among his peers. Even better, they avoided the spotlight whenever possible, which the Cabal had full respect for, often operating under similar conditions as well. Now he was convinced that the higher ups here were not only expecting, but certain of trouble. Cabal, Blackwatch, Phantom Guardian, numerous N7 and Spectre operatives, and that was just in their immediate security detail. That did not include forces outside their group that would be involved in assisting, should trouble indeed arise. But, unfortunately, that left the Turian as the last one of the immediate detail to apparently not have checked in yet.

"Fauus Caldros, Cabal Adept. Tightbeaming position tracking to your omni tool, Spectre Morgenstern." Fauus had no interest in sharing identifying information with just anyone listening in on the channel, so he took his own initiative in ensuring the detail lead knew where he was. He also had nothing else to contribute, discussion wise, so he continued observing. The Councilors were busy preparing speeches and the like, and sadly, this was shaping up to be a long, drawn out event. All the more concerning as to why so many elite, specialized forces had been gathered for an event that had an overwhelming amount of security to begin with. Fauus had a gut feeling things were about to get really ugly, really quickly, and no one was going to see it coming. No one that would speak up, at any rate...

The comment that Fauus had made about Aviza's tone of voice couldn't have been further from the truth. She was in fact, absolutely fine with the Cabal Adepts presence, and she was sure his skills would prove greatly useful if something did manage to go wrong. "I'm fine with your presence here, Fauus. You and I both know that keeping a cold and methodical appearance while on duty is part of the extensive training we both received, in different fields of course." Now, she changed her tone of voice from the cold and impassive sound it had to a more neutral sounding tone. They were supposed to be celebrating after all, but also keeping their guard up for anything out of the ordinary or suspicious.

"Andromedai, I am heading to my vantage point and will relay anything I find directly to our security channel." Andromedai nodded her head once lightly before Aviza broke step with her human friend and fellow Spectre before vanishing into the crowd that had formed around the podium in the middle of the room. After a few short moments, she reappeared once more but at the back of the massive dome structure. Now prone in a very well hidden area, she radioed the security team. "In position, I have eyes on the council, they have begun their speeches." Peering through the scope upon her Widow Sniper Rifle, she scanned the audience that was in close proximity to the councilors and the special guests who sat behind them.

Andromedai was on the other side of the celebration grounds, listening to the human council member read off his own speech that had already lasted over thirty minutes. It was clear that he had a lot to say on the subject at hand, the name Shepard even came up every now and then to point out that a human was that one that ultimately stopped the reaper invasion. Andromedai silent scoffed at the comment, "Yes Commander Shepard did deliver the final blow to the Reapers but this was a galaxy wide effort, everyone should be thanked for what they did during those wars and beyond." She did figure that they had some bragging right but now was not the place or time for such a thing. What the man was doing was very inappropriate, but no one seemed to mind or even notice that he was leaning towards pro-human thanks.

A few more moments would pass before the crowd would clap and cheer, showing their approval of what was said by the human council member. Both Aviza and Andromedai hated politics, and his speech had been political rather than what the celebration was focused on. Andromedai mentally face-palmed and continued her short patrol, paying very close attention to everything around her. Aviza, on the other hand, was still motionless, keeping a close eye on the council members through the scope of her Widow Sniper-Rifle. It appeared that paranoia or something else was driving the council and C-SEC to have this much security at the event, and both of the Spectres at one time or another during the event would think that they had not been given all of the information that they required for the week ahead.

Switching her com over to a secure channel to talk to Andromedai in privacy, Aviza was about to mention how inappropriate the humans speech had been before the lights inside of the dome shut off, throwing it into complete pitch-black darkness. There was slight panic at first while the council tried to calm the masses of people who had gathered. The panic turned into chaos as the sound of metallic canisters could be heard hitting the ground throughout the celebration grounds. Without warning, a audible hissing could be heard coming from all over the massive room. Both Aviza and Andromedai had switched on their low-light visual enhancers, showing them the chaos that unfolded.

Metallic cylinders that looked like grenades had been tossed down onto the masses without any care of where they landed. They were releasing a tear gas that was causing mass panic to erupt throughout the grounds. The doors that lead into the celebration grounds had been shut to keep out unwanted guests and those wishing to cause trouble. C-SEC's plan to keep everyone in a safe area had back-fired, giving whoever was doing this the perfect opportunity to wreck havoc. "Filters on!" said Andromedai into the open security channel, quickly scanning the environment to find any sign of where the hostiles could come from. With no movement from any hostiles, Andromedai turned to the only doors that lead out of the celebration grounds and tried to open them, they were stuck, power had been cut to the whole area.

"The door is sealed due to the power being cut, we need to get everyone out of here before they suffocate or worse, I need some of you to keep guard over the council and the special guests." said Andromedai into her com. Aviza quickly responded, "I have eyes on the council and the special guests, some C-SEC are covering them with shields but that wont matter if we do not get that door open." Bending down, Andromedai picked up one of the canisters and noticed it was a human made tear-gas grenade. After tossing it away from the panicking masses, she gave out an order. "One of you come and see if you can blast the door open, I will provide covering fire if the situation turns for the worst." Andromedai backed up towards the door and scanned the top of the dome where the tear gas grenades had come from.

There was movement above them now, and for those who had low-light vision enhancements, it would be easy to see. Instead of carefully entering the dome and roping down to the floor below, some Batarians, Humans, and Turians made a much more dramatic entrance using their jump-packs. As soon as she saw them, Andromedai started to open fire upon the unknown hostile group. The targets were difficult to hit at first but once she picked up on how they moved, Andromedai started to pick off hostiles once they landed upon the ground. Aviza took a more dramatic approach and used her Widow Sniper Rifle to carefully pick off targets while they were still in the air. Some spun wildly in the air after being shot and would shortly after explode, illuminating the room with a vibrant flash of light. Others, would merely fall to the ground, while those below ran away in panic.

"Contact at the south-eastern side of the dome, we have more movement up above." said Aviza, quickly turning her Widow just in time to see the shot fire from another sniper rifle of equal power. The shot echoed through the dome with an ear shattering bang that caused even Andromedai to quickly look in the direction it came from. The human councilors left arm and shoulder exploded with a shower of crimson rain that fell down upon everyone within a quite a distance of the man. "Someone get that door open, I can handle the wounded councilor." Andromedai moved away from the door and charged the stage, "Cover me Aviza." before Aviza could respond, there was another loud bang from a high-powered sniper rifle. This time though, the sniper that was hiding above and who had shot the human councilor, fell from his hiding spot, falling to the ground in a grotesque bloody mess. "Already taken care of." Aviza pulled the bolt back on the rifle and readied another round, with astonishing speed.

Andromedai was now next to the human councilor and had taken a knee. She had pulled the advanced medical kit from the small backpack she kept with her at all times and was tending to the severe injury upon the man. Thankfully, the human councilor had passed out rather quickly and would not feel any of the extensive external and internal work that she was carrying out.

"Creator Kirtan, I will consider the proposal if it does not interfere with duties I would be better suited for. We will discuss it when we are no longer registered on active duty." Tower replied to his quarian acquaintance, who seemed to have taken something a liking to him since their first mission together. Were the Phantom Guardians an effective unit to serve geth and quarian interest? It would take some processing to decide.

The ceremony had been going according to the agenda, speeches being read by the councilors of each species that they'd doubtless prepared for weeks to perfect. While Tower had no concept of boredom or found much value in speeches, mostly because they were arbitrary and over-drawn ways to communicate intended information, he knew that the organics assembled found inspiration from such things, and it was one of the few ways organics found to formally commemorate something extraordinary. The Reaper War, by its very definition, was a galaxy threatening event that effected the lives of every soul in the galaxy, including the geth. Tower recalled the war, and the transmissions he'd processed over the years, and the war against the Creators.

The very concept of geth self-determination and identity was upturned in those short years, and the war truly gave life to the geth. The geth found it somewhat paradoxical to be celebrating the destruction of the Reapers while the reason that the geth now had self-determination and individual personalities and runtimes was because of a line of Reaper-designed code that unit-designate 'Legion' had uploaded to the geth, the climax of the war against the Creators. It was an event that all geth found an almost religious-like fixation and respect for, and Shepard-Commander was the key reason the geth and Creators were able to broker peace instead of ending their separation with a very final total war that could have ended either, or both, species. It would have been an awful waste of life over misunderstanding and distrust that could have been avoided altogether if the Creators didn't react the way they had in the Morning War. Perhaps, if they really understood their creations, the Migrant Fleet and three centuries of exile could have been avoided entirely.

Tower's sensors picked of anomalies and immediately picked up the gas canisters, but without a way to analyze the contents, it was impossible to know if it was lethal or crowd-control devices. The panels on Tower's head shifted, exposing more of its sensors and circuitry as it shifted into Hunter Mode, the people in the audience showing up as blue outlines in the geth's optics. Wireless communication to Forge confirmed that Tower's partner was also reacting to the threat.

Spectre-Andromedai and Norea quickly reacted over communications, making a plan for dealing with the gas attack. Tower spoke;

"This unit does not have a respiratory system; it will remain in the affected area and attempt to engage hostiles and extract civilians." Tower reported.

"Likewise, unit-Forge will assist unit-Tower in this course of action. We are impervious to the gas."

The geth immediately had their pulse rifles at the ready, and almost immediately jump-pack equipped hostiles were inbound. "Alert; hostiles acquired above." Forge announced.

"Affirmative." Tower confirmed. Both geth opened fire, the cyan-coloured plasma envelopes tracing through the air in telltale fashion towards the descending targets. The rifles' onboard targeting computers and the geths' own combat software ensured that leading targets was an easily accomplished feat, and the superheated projectiles were soon splashing across the shielding of the troopers entering the auditorium, and a turian found out the hard way about the efficiency of geth weaponry as his shielding failed and burned through his armour and began to scorch its way through his now exposed carapace. With an agonized scream, the turian was silenced by the time his body hit the deck.

"Target eliminated. Engaging."

Many of the hostiles had already landed and were taking up position. They were equipped with respirators that could filter out the gas, so they had certainly prepared. The odds were not in the geth's favour, so Tower deployed a capsule that deployed into an automated turret, which once fully materialized began to lock on targets and fired bursts of accurate fire towards targets in its range while emitting a wireless energy wave that kept the shielding of IFF approved individuals up in the face of incoming fire. The geth resumed its own assault, speaking to the civilians in the area.

"Vacate the area; this unit will suppress the aggressors." While the projected voice was loud, it contained the same emotionless and calming digitized presence of other geth. It was like listening to a fire evacuation alarm directing people to calmly exit the building.

Shit hit the fan with about hte speed that those kinds of things usually happened. One moment everything was fine, the next lights out, tear gas in along with jetpack bastards jumping in like some space crickets. Who on earth uses jetpacks for an ops like this dammit. You use rope! A normal god damned rope. She could see them clear as they even in the darkness because she could see the jetpacks. The not so stealthy tool of the trade. Sure jetpacks would make great soldier equipment on hard terrain, but yeah...

Clara's first job was to duck out of the way and not get trampled by the stampede of civilians panicking like headless animals without guide. She pressed herself against a wall, waiting for the trickle of people to stop for a moment before she got into action. Even in this darkness you could see the the security was already doing it's job. Flashes of lights could be seen which indicated different kinds of weapon fire that was flying all around. Some machinery was being busted in the air so she assumed some of the jetpack fools were being brought down too. Still she kept away from the places where hte tear gas was at, she didn't have a helmet after all at most she had a pair of glasses in her pocket.

Then an opportunity came. Originally she would have preferred not to pick up a gun because she wasn't with the security and she could very well easily be mistaken for a collaborator for these terrorists, but she didn't get much of a choice as a fool aimed at some civies. The fool was even landed!" Ohh no you don't." She growled and tackled him. Frankly didn't take a Hercules to take out an unsuspecting man especially when she jumped on him from behind.

With a trained move she spun around him, disarming him by twisting his arm to a near breaking point before pulling his sidearm which was a pistol and without wasting time she pressed it at his head, pulling the trigger. There was a flash of light and in the same moment something hot splattered across her face and torso. She knew it was blood, but didn't care. She was used to taking lives in gory fashion.' So much for my retirement...' She thought as she grabbed the man's rifle and pistol for her use for the moment. Then she opened fire on the still buzzing in the air jetpack users. Next time she was bringing some undercover gear even to na event like this.

Alria Vicrinus
Location: Citadel Presidium, Remembrance of Fallen Heroes

Interacting With: @Andromedai

Alria had finished her call in and looked about the room as so many others from different branches, services, and races chimed in to make their own mark upon the net. To ALria it was so weird to work with so many non-Turians and REALLY weird to be working with Geth and Quarians, but they came across the net in their own special way nonetheless. Regardless of her thoughts and sort of wonder involved with working such a prestigious event he made her way up to the speaking area to hear the delegates and council members give out their words to inspire and bond teh many races who took their part in the Reaper War to fight for the sake of all life in the galaxy.

Alria was a sucker for such things and the heavy notes of patriotism that sank through the notes of the Turian council member. Having been inspired to pursue her career in the military based upon a dense family tradition that she was more than happy and pleased with herself on what she did with her life course.

It wouldn't be so far to admit that Alria was just the slightest bit distracted by the Turian Councilor's speech that left her a bit stunned when the canisters begant o sink and fall down from the ceiling, falling into the crowd to cause absolute panic and uproar. The sense of which gave Alria a start and made her click up her helmet to secure her some fresh and breathable air. With her little atmosphere checked and ready to let her operate unhindered she drew her pistol and started to look about the crowd for signs of hostile threats, only to find them instead descending from the rafters. Upon clearing her threats she was about to move into engagement range before her net blared to life and let her know the situation. Her allies were engaging the enemy and Andromedai was blaring orders that the door was sealed and somebody needed to open it. "Angel is on the door!" She declared over the net to let her friends know her intent.

From there it was a sheer sprint where she showed off her nimble agility and grace by weaving through the crowd with almost supernatural speed and agility and when the option of a path didn't present itself she engaged her havoc jets and made one, leaping over the crowd and bursting through the tainted air with her nimble frame. Though it wasn't without incident as upon reaching her landing a hostile presented himself to her, turning to aim at her but it was too late. Alria used her momentum to close the distance and engage her foe in close quarters combat. Her first jab going high to tip his weapon upwards to avoid civilian casualties. Her second coming under to hook the inside of his left arm, pulling it away from the gun and opening his chest up to attack. Bringing herself up on his with a grip to his left shoulder she hoisted her body up and kneed his gut with a armor plated strike. Using the same upward momentum to curl her body around his head and reach down past his jaw to cup his chin with her wrist and palm. Then all at once she snapped outwards, folding her body and her arm in one fliud motion to cause a sickening crack around his neck, letting him slump to the floor and her to land gracefully on her feet.

With that encounter done she was free and able to continue on her path towards the main door. She still had a bit of a trip to make and one that wasn't looking to be an easy one. The crowd and their panic was making things hard, but what made things even harder were the hostiles that were dropping in her path. This time she had three to worry about instead of one. Running up to the small group she pulled up her pistol and let fly three closely nit shots, sinking them into the chest of a Human male and making his body shiver with the riddle of bullets.

From there she was discovered and realized to be a threat, making the foes draw up their weapons to engage her. Alria was not a stranger to being on the short end of a barrel though and dropped her whole body. One would think that she had gone limp if not for her havoc jets firing and propelling her along the floor to their legs. In an instant she had dodged their bullets and found herself in the perfect place to cause some damage, throwing a punch up at another Human male's groin to stun him. All while her legs cupped to the Turian male's shins, stopping her with her momentum. As he throw the barrel of his gun down to strike at her she tensed up and coiled like a viper to catch his gun, the barrel under her armpit. Then as he began to fire she move the barrel over and across to the Human male's feet, popping a few rounds into his friend before she reached up with a firm palm to snap at his trigger hand, making him stop for just long enough to snap her legs open and kick up at his butt, flooring him on his back with a knee jerk reaction.

Now she had one man on the ground and the other feeling the pain in his groin and foot. Curling back her body she leered up to put herself on her knees, bracing herself and throwing a quick snap at the Turian on the ground, bashing him in his face before using the same arm she whipped back her elbow to crack the Human across his chin. Using the brief moment of breathing room she stood up on her one knee and brought her pistol around to the Turian pumping one round into his head before using teh recoil of her pistol her fly around and crack the Human in his knee, bringing him lower. Again she took her moment to move and couched up, pulling the gun to his head and pumping a round into the Human at a barrel press to the head.

Once again she was in the clear and with her path now sorted to leave her able to progress, she made another sprint to close the gap between her and the door.

Zarti was chuckling at Tower's response when all hell broke loose. Among the chaos the security personnel were the expected islands of calmness. All reacting this way or that depending on their specific skills and training.

"We'll take care of the dignitaries." Lemm's voice reached Zarti over the comms. "You assist Tower and Forge in suppressing the hostiles." There was a short pause. "Try to take one alive. I'm sure the big heads'll want to know who's behind this little shindig."

"Acknowledged." Zarti sprang into action. Her female C-Sec partner had rushed to assist the human Citadel Council member even while coughing vigorously and wiping away tears from her eyes. The Quarian Phantom keyed into the security channel via her omni-tool. "This is Red Phantom. Tower, Forge, I'll assist you in dealing with the hostiles. We should also try and cover all security personnel attempting to open the doors." Without further ado Zarti deployed her combat drone, which immediately began sighting targets and blasting away at them, as well as drawing fire away from all security operatives in the hall trying to suppress this insurrection.

As the female Quarian made her way through the mass of panicking civilians she could easily identify the hostiles thanks to the C-Sec upgrade, installed onto her envirosuit mask. Zarti instructed her drone to target the insurgents still in the air, while she herself went for those that had already landed. The Red Phantom spotted a human female heading for the security agents actively trying to open the doors of the hall. She quickly deployed her Energy Drain. The female stopped dead in her tracks, crouching in surprise by the sapping of her kinetic barrier. Zarti used the momentum to attack the woman with her Neural Shock, further paralyzing her. The Quarian operative was on her target in a flash rendering the female human unconscious with one measured blow to the head.

"Apollo. Converge on my location to retrieve an incapacitated hostile. Keep alive at all costs."

"Directive received." Apollo acknowledged with its crisp voice. He appeared next to Zarti in a moment's notice and shouldered the unconscious female. As he was doing so he aimed his weapon at the Quarian's head and fired.

A Turian enemy combatant crumpled to the ground behind Zarti, finished off by her drone. The Quarian looked back at the dead Turian and back at Apollo. "Thanks, Mauve. Return to Lemm." She hadn't even flinched when the Geth had pointed it's weapon at her. She had no doubt in her heart and mind about the fealty of her Geth teammates.

"Stay operational, Red Phantom." Apollo instructed and was off.

Zarti couldn't help but grin at the Geth's concern for her wellbeing.

"You know it, Mauve." She assured and headed in the direction of Tower and Forge's location. They needed to create a line between the door and any hostiles that would try to stop the security agents from opening it.

The chaos that ensued from the blackout roused Robert from what was soon becoming a deep slumber, the speeches had been long, drawn out and for the most part unnecessary in terms of their content. Everyone in the area knew what they were there for but in typical politician style, the council knew how to draw a speech out to the point of being ridiculous.

"Get down!" Robert yelled. He reached down to his hip to put on his helmet with one hand, drawing his Mattock with the other. The satisfying sound of his helmet attaching to his armour freed his other arm to support the weight of his weapon and he began to open fire towards what appeared to be the retro-thrusters of jet packs. Several well placed shots dropped one intruder while another quick burst caught one of the other individuals right on their pack. With a bright glare their jetpack erupted into a mass of flame, engulfing the unfortunate person.

As time wore on Rob continued to drop the attackers but it was becoming apparent that there were a large number of assailants. Where the hell are they all coming from? The thought played through his head with every pull of his trigger. Soon enough he heard a nearby call from a civilian, "The human councillor has been hit!" Robert's head snapped towards where the council had delivered their speeches and sure enough he saw a small crowd of bodies huddled around a bloodied figure on the floor. Activating his tech armour Rob swapped his Mattock for his Carnifex, calling up his omni-shield as an extra layer of defence. He emerged from his position and backed up towards the human councillor, firing the high powered hand cannon from around the side of his large hard-light shield. Incoming rounds ricocheted into the floor nearby but his shield held all the way to the group. As he arrived he was met by someone applying medigel to a now unconscious human councillor. Without even the quickest of greetings Rob deployed a hardlight barricade to encompass the open flank of the group. His tech armour and shields dropped due to the power consumed to sustain the barricade.

The sound of bullets pinging off the barricade were clearly audible and it would only be a matter of time before the barricade would fall. "The names Robert Cadogan, N7. This barricade won't hold forever, do you guys have a hidden exit?" The question was directed to the individual applying the medigel, markings on her armour giving her away as a Spectre.
