Elise frowned in response to the bald scum's ominous threat. It thought that it could kill her, and she had no doubt that it wanted to. That was the thing with Supernaturals: they could be reasonable if it would keep them alive, but ultimately their only purpose had always been to cause harm to others. It deserved death, but she could not give it that while more were present. A group of them might stand a chance against her, and more would be destroyed in the long run if she lived now. Thus, she had no desire for conflict, so did her best to play the bald monster's game.

"Really?" she asked it. "I think the Librarian could use something to set himself straight. Faith, I've found... it gives a certain sense of purpose. Helps a person focus on what's important."

Fable was searching for a way out. The only door lead back into the main room of the bar. The window, well, it was a bathroom window. Even though Fable could probably fit her small frame through it, this would not leave enough room to avoid cutting herself on the shards of glass that would be left if she were to break the window. Besides, she'd seen the other window already broken today; Rebecca didn't need to deal with another one. Of course, Fable could hide in a cubicle, but that would be far too obvious once Elise inevitably searched the room. The only viable option she could see was to go back into the main room and try to slip past Elise. Of course, she could try to kill her sister, but unlike her, Fable had lost no love for her twin when they'd been driven apart. She could see now that Elise was evil, but the thought of ending her life still seemed... difficult.

Elise found the situation funnier and funnier as more and more people got involved. All this posturing and threatening - typical Supernatural agression - and all she'd done was ask for someone. It was as if they were trying to provoke her, and in a way, they were. She was making mental notes of the faces (and, when she could, names) of everyone who seemed to be Supernatural in this room, something which was pathetically obvious by their hostility towards her and her Brother, the other Hunter.

Turning to Darnies, Elise said, simply "I'm not here to fight. I'm just looking for my sister. You people are right that I don't like you, but is that really my fault? I've walked into a bar and been threatened by a man with a gun, then everyone who involved themselves except that Japanese man has seemed to think I'm the problem here. Can you really blame me?"

Elise hated calling the creatures in this bar people. They weren't, and they should be thanking her for flattering them with such a term. But, of course, she was not in a tactically advantageous position here. She would have to play by their rules, or die.

Xayah
&
Rakan

Xayah dressed in jeans, a blue vest and black high heeled ankle boots made her way down the side walk with the rather tall rakan next to her. He always looked over dressed with his button up white shirt...at least she got him to wear jeans this time. They were going to check out a new place. A place that held apartments and if rumor held true...beings. Rakan seemed neutral at best about the prospect but at least he came.

Rakan kept his pace slow as he always did with Xayah. He was tall and thus had a wider pace, but she seemed able to keep up just fine today. He blamed the excitement factor. At least he thought that is what it was. As they neared the bar called paradise, which was where they decided to go first to check out the locals he froze. "I smell trouble"

Trouble? how? "A lot of beings in one place and death...though the last time i thought it was death it was a being and i dont think they appreciated that comment." There was a small giggle from Xayah They did not...but let us go see what it is. after all it could be fun. The response she got from Rakan was an eye roll.

Together the pair walked in and they both paused. Oh my what did we walk into. We were coming to ask about the apartments, but if this is a stand up or something... "Then please tell us because we really need to know about a room" Xayah looked around the room Or we could always see who feels rather unlucky today right Rakan "Or fears fire" There was that musical giggle from xayah Not that we are threatening to burn the place down...we would never do that...we just wish to provide assistance. there was an odd emphasis on assistance and that feeling of dread that followed rakan was present as always his green eyes going from individual to individual until they landed on the lich. Realization crossed those eyes and he nodded as if he answered a question he had had. There was a gun involved so questioning a stand up was not too odd...or was it?

Guy's tough, I'll give him that. Most mundanes would either faint in terror or throw themselves through the front window to get away if they saw an actual undead. He just looks... confused. Rebecca put her necklace back on- no need to get herself in trouble with the boys in blue. "Officer, listen to me. Tell the cops to come in peaceful and quiet. If there's shooting, the people here will defend themselves, myself included, and your coworkers are not ready for that. I don't want a massacre on my hands- if everyone here gets to go home, that's a win in my book."

The Librarian

"Fucking Millennials." Harry groaned, standing up from the bar stool and taking a few steps forward towards the hunter, retrieving his knife from his waist as he did so. However, rather than make any move of aggression towards the woman, he simply stepped past her and used the blade to make an incision on his hand. After re-sheathing the blade he yawned a bit and began to draw surprisingly intricate designs on the doorway that well read mages would notice to be a triggered curse. He murmured a few words under his breath in a language no present company would recognize. Then, he took a step back and admired his handiwork; a light shimmering of a barrier could be seen envelope the building. With a wide smile, he turned back to the Huntress and the rest of the creatures in the bar.

"There, now everyone here has a mirror curse placed upon them. If anyone dies, we all die." He said cheerfully with a smile that suggested this was an obvious solution to the problem at hand. "Excluding me of course, I won't die." He explained gleefully.

"Now!" He exclaimed with a clap, talking a few slow, graceful steps towards the Huntress and begin to slowly walk circles around her.

"The rules have remained the same for nearly three centuries now." He said slowly, in his lightly accented drawl. "If a hunter wishes to visit, hunt, or in any way maintain physical form within Grayvette, they are required to come straight to the Stein Estate and inform the active Librarian of their presence and intentions." He paused, than walked to the bar, and hopped onto to the counter to crouch, and point simultaneously at both of the hunters.

"But I'm sure you guys are exceptional cases right? Or perhaps you were lost on your way to my Estate?" He offered, switching his focus from the woman to the man, and back.

"Because otherwise, I'd have to believe that you are knowingly violating the Stein-Hunter Neutrality Accords, thereby making you a hostile element to my Library. It would also mean that no hunter would be allowed to make a move to save you, nor attempt to avenge you after your untimely deaths." He paused for a minute, allowing what he said to sink in. Maybe it'd shake a memory in one of them, after all, most hunters knew about the Librarian of Grayvette, and just how happy he was to help their causes.

"But lucky for you, we're in my favorite bar, and the bartender isn't fond of my violent streak. So, out of respect for Rebecca, I will let you announce yourself to me here! Unless of course, you intend to violate the accords, in which case no bartender could save you." He continued, smiling wildly at the both of them.

"Simply give me your name and inform me of what creature you're intending to hunt, and I'll be happy to provide you with any assistance you may need, unless they are creatures being protected by the Stein Family of course." He finished, awaiting a response.

Chasa's shoulders were a tense line as the Detective talked to her back. Her muscles strained as her need to protect Darnies fought with his orders to protect someone else. He mentioned cops and she heard Rebecca reply to him but she had zoned in intensely on the main conversation at hand. Knowing that the hunters probably had no bullets to actually kill Darnies did nothing to soothe her nerves over him being in harms way as a whole, after all, she needed to know what was going on. Harry's curse washed over them all and- aside from a small shiver- Chasa couldn't find herself feeling much different. She did notice Darnies shiver and move over to the broken window and breathe deeply as though he was in need of fresh air. She also noticed when he seemed to tense before shouthing, "Down!" and dropping suddenly. The sound of gunfire was when it all went to shit.
-
He was furious. Livid. Apoplectic!

Here he was around the corner of the alley that held the window and entrance into his favorite targeting spot and he couldn't even begin his night of observing because some stupid new hunters had waltzed in and caused a standoff with the regular freaks- the ones he doesn't quite know how to kill. Yet.

He felt a possessive rage build in him the longer they were in there. He found this bar, it's his spot to find targets, his! He saw the young magic wielder shift his position closer to the window, and the perfect view it opened up caused a manic grin to spread over the man's face. The kid turned and took a deep breath before looking straight at the man shadowed at the end of the alley and freezing up. The man simply raised his finger to his upturned lips at the same time he raised the gun. He laughed a bit as he watched the kid drop like a rock.

Then he fired.
-
If Darnies really though about it, either the Earth or the Fates must really have his ticket ready for something big if they keep putting him through all these trials. When Harry's specific chimera brand of spellwork settled over him, he had shivered at the dark feeling that coated like a second skin. He needed the breeze from the broken window to show he still had proper sensitivity to his skin with the way the foreign magic muted things. Harry's used plenty of magic on him, but this one in particular seemed to bring out an unpleasant feeling that no one else seemed to feel to his extent.

He looked out the window straight across the alley, staring blankly at the other building's wall and trailing towards the mouth of the alley as he breathed. When his eyes reached the end, it only took a split second to register that there was a person staring directly through the bar's open window, his crazed grin the only thing visible of the hooded figure. That is, until his finger went to his lips and something in his hand glinted in the light from the streetlight behind the figure. Darnies's eyes widened and his heart began beating off-kilter.

"Down!" He yelled, dropping to the floor himself with a cry of pain as he jolted his bad knee. He saw Chasa turn around and curl of the detective as the first gunshot rang out. No more came because a second later there were sirens and the squeal of tires. A moment of shouting and an officer ran into the bar, plain-clothes but with his badge on a chain and his gun held facing the ground.

"Where is Detective Greenfield?" The man's gaze shifted passed Chasa as she unfolded from her position over the Detective and he came back into view. The officer kept his face neutral. "Detective, are there more any perps than the guy we caught outside?" He asked while eyeing the weapons in various stages of exposure, especially the blade glinting out of the cane next the boy on the ground below the window.

Darnies was still, eyes locked straight ahead, where the blue lights flashing lit up the bar's dim interior and glinted off the growing pool of dark liquid leaking out of the hole in the Japanese man's corpse.

At some point, Scott had stopped listening. His mind raced as he struggled to comprehend what was happening. He vaguely remembered Rebecca saying something to him, and then Harry started talking. He couldn't see what was happening, as Chasa was blocking his vision, but it sounded like there was some sort of standoff happening. He went to reach for his radio, but before he could, Darines shouted to get down. Ducking down, he saw Chasa move to protect him. He heard a gunshot, then sirens, and when he looked up, he saw an officer run into the bar. As Chasa moved out of the way, he stood up to face the officer.

"Outside?" He said, looking out the window before turning back. He hadn't expected the gunshot, or for anyone to be outside. Looking around, he noticed that the man he thought was the perp had been shot, and was lying on the ground, dead. He pointed at him. "Well, that guy there was the perp I called about." Looking around the bar, he looked at Elise for a moment. He had a bad feeling about her, but gut feelings weren't enough to arrest someone. Looking back to the officer, he shook his head. "Nobody other than the dead guy, I'm afraid. I can interrogate our suspect back at the station for more info." Walking outside, he headed back to his car. As he got inside, he let out a deep sigh. This had been a mess, but they had someone, now. The other officers could deal with everyone, while he tried to figure out exactly what the hell had happened in that bar. Starting up his car, he pulled out of the parking lot and began the drive to the police station. After what had happened, he was more than happy to get out of there.

Anahi and Alberto

Anahi quickly set up from her sleeping bag by the sound of gunshots from the distance, Anahi heart start raced as she hear the gunshot, Humans? probably. Supernaturals? maybe but they were mages, they would use their wand, not guns, Anahi thought gunshot came from.....the hunters. Anahi get out of her sleeping bag and quickly put it back in her backpack. "Al! Alberto wake up!" Anahi say in a panic tone. "hmmmm?....Sis? Is it morning already?" Alberto ask "No time to explain! Just pack your sleeping bag and run!" "But Why?" "Just run!" Alberto quickly pack his sleeping bag and put it back in his backpack, after he pack his sleeping bag, Anahi grab wrist and run away from the alleyway and the sound of the gunshots.

They are finally away from the gunshot sounds and stop at a look like a apartment building but it look like a green house instead of a apartment but what choice does Anahi and Alberto have? They go to the back of the apartment building so they don't get caught by the residents, Anahi setting up the sleeping bags again while Alberto sits on the ground thinking what happen back in the alleyway. "soooo...What happen back there?" "....Well, I hear gunshots from the distance, I think they from the bar that you say we should spend the night." "What?!" Alberto say in a alarming tone, Al stood up from the ground "Do you think someone or anyone got hurt!" "I don't know but it not our business to find ou-" Anahi stop talking when she look up to see her brother walking away "Hey! Where are you going?" Anahi ask Al as she grab his shoulder. "I'm going to save somebody who got shot in the bar!" Alberto say "....Oh, Al...You can't be serious" "I can try sis! I mean I'm not very skill attack and protective spells like you--" "Al..." "--But i'm so skill with some fire spells--" "Alberto...please..." "--I can try save someone! I can try save someone life-" "Alberto!" Anahi snap at Alberto.

Alberto jump and eyes wide out when Anahi snap at him, Anahi breathe in and breathe out, Anahi put both hands on to Alberto shoulders "Look...I know you want to help people, believe me, I do too. But we can't just risk our lifes, you're the only family I have right now....and I just can't lose you..." Anahi say as she choke up a little ".....Ok..." Al say while he look at the ground "Let's just go to sleep and hoping things can calm down at the bar." Alberto and Anahi slip back in to their sleeping bags and fall back to sleep but the sound of gunfire keep playing in Anahi head.

As Darnies called for everyone to get down, Rebecca ducked behind the bar. Sure, ordinarily she'd stand there and take the hits- fixing up her body was old hat for her by now, and anything short of a completely destroyed skull was simple to repair. But there was a Mundane in the room, and she'd heard something about silver bullets- one of the few things that could put her down for good. Thankfully, it seemed there was only one target, but Rebecca had had enough. Things were getting too violent, and sooner or later, innocents were going to get killed.

The lich took out her cell phone and dialed 911. "This is Rebecca Fletcher. I have information about a motive for the Grayson case. I wish to speak with Detective Greenfield, alone. No tapes, no cameras. Take it or leave it."

"I will get in touch with him- you can meet him down at the station."

"Good."

She turned to the rest of the patrons. "I will not out any individual save myself, in general or specific. You have my word, and you know what it's worth. But dammit, the police need to know what they're stepping into. This is getting far too dangerous- I might be a necromancer, but the last thing I want is bodies in the streets."

She hopped into her car, an ancient mishmash of various VW Beetles, and headed for the station. Very soon, the die would be cast.

Elise didn't like the Librarian. Of course, she disliked all Supernaturals, but this one was not just blasphemous on an intrinsic level, it also actively chose to do things which made her dislike it, as she would if a human had done the same. She wanted to kill it, and as the mirror curse was placed, she wondered if Harold's exclusion from the curse worked both ways - that was, that it could be killed without anyone else being harmed as a result. In the end she decided to assume the worst, as was her habit out of caution. Of course, this would mean that she could kill Harry and subsequently deal with every Supernatural in the building. Her own life for perhaps half a dozen of the vile things... she would consider it worth the sacrifice, were it not for her personal vendetta against Fable. She couldn't afford to make such a sacrifice until her hunt was finished.

Thus, when the Libarian demanded to know who she was and what she hunting, Elise felt her best choice was to comply, rather than simply stab him, as was her gut instinct. So she said "Elise Elwynder, hunting Fae creatures in general and the Changeling Fable Elwynder in particular. I've already given a description of the Changeling."

Fable had to go through the main room. That conclusion was easy enough to reach, but the question of how remained elusive. No doubt Elise had already given a description of her; she could either hide from all of them, or run from all of them, unless she was lucky enough to recieve a little goodwill. What she really needed was a distraction. Elise was busy talking to the bald man from before, and perhaps the others wouldn't recognise her immediately. That might give her the headstart she needed. Then, she had a better opportunity.

Gunshots rang out, and while everyone else was taking cover in shock and fear, Fable had seen the gunman and been able to brace herself for them. She ran, heading straight across the room as a police officer walked in. She'd hoped that the element of surprise would allow her to get past Elise before she knew what was going on. It didn't go quite to plan.

Elise dropped to the floor as advised when the shots were fired. But then she heard footsteps behind her, moving quickly, and she turned just in time to see her twin running for the door. Swinging her leg out, Elise tripped Fable, who rolled and got up quickly, but not any more quickly than the human girl. Elise caught Fable as she reached the door, before she could open it, and grabbed her by the hair to ram her face into the nearby wall. Fable cried out and spun to face Elise, clutching her broken nose with both hands, but did manage to duck under the punch that followed, then spin them around so that they moved to Fable's left, and now Elise was against the wall. However, as Fable attempted to strike at Elise, Elise caught the right hook and pulled on the arm, attempting to send Fable's already-damaged face into the wall again. But they had moved, and this time, there wasn't a wall next to Elise, there were the broken remains of a window.

Fable flipped as her lower body encountered resistance, but her upper did not. Her torso was shredded by the broken glass as she now lay on her back in the street outside. Her head was spinning, but survival instinct had put her body on autopilot, and before she really knew what was happening she was doing something like a run away from the bar. Elise would be through the door in a moment, either giving chase or firing her crossbow. Fable rounded a corner into an alleyway, doing her best to lose her sister. Thankfully, she wasn't leaving a trail of blood, since her t-shirt was soaking the worst of it up, though it was utterly ruined. As quickly as she could, Fable retreated into the gloom, returning to the apartment she didn't own at Ivy View. She found her bed and fell asleep, not knowing if she'd ever wake up, but too weak from blood loss to do anything about it either way.

Elise was not happy. She'd been so close. If that fight had been anything to go by, she was definitely the better combatant. Even so, she hadn't had a chance to finish the job, and now the thing she'd once called her sister was gone. Police were present, and while the fight she'd been in had been fast and vicious (Elise thought it had lasted 2, perhaps 3 seconds) she would now have to escape or face arrest herself. So she did, as best she could, using alleyways and backstreets in an attempt to lead any pursuers on a wild goose chase, doubling back and moving in circles occasionally to fool them. Eventually she found the place she'd been staying at; a safehouse owned by her sect near the edge of town. It was small and uncomfortable, but it was buildings like these that let Hunters from her sect operate in almost any city or large town in the area cheaply and easily. She feel asleep on a matress on the floor, exhausted and frustrated, but also prideful in the belief that she was the greater twin.

Xayah & Rakan

Xayah looked at Rakan as things went from wrong to odd yet still wrong. A spell put on all of them and somehow no one in the room seemed particularly concerned...which must have irked Rakan. Or not given how he didn’t seem to care. Just as she opened her mouth to say something there was a commotion....they had to duck.

As Rakan heard the...suggestion to duck he moved down to the floor pulling Xayah with him as a shot rang out and killed one of the people that were here. He straightened and looked at the body green eyes holding who knew exactly what. Then he paused and seemed to nod toward...something. Something only he could see before he straightened and helped Xayah up.

Xayah and Rakan then both watched as two women fought then took off. ”...we have found an interesting place for sure” Rakan nods and looks over as police entered both putting up their hands somewhat and Xayah putting on the wide eyed innocent face.

Though Darnies seemed frozen, Chasa realized, he was not actually harmed by the bullet; for that she was eternally grateful, as it would make her side of things much easier. After the twins-Hunter and Being, how disturbing- had run off between the gunshot and policeman running in, and everyone else had made their way in one way or the other, Chasa knelt down carefully and picked Darnies up along with his cane. She shook off the medics that were trying to get to him, simply saying Darnies believed in holistic and herbal healing. When the first medic looked like he wanted to push it, his partner put her hand on his shoulder and shook her head. Chasa gave the Fae woman a thankful smile before heading out the alley. As the policeman that had originally come into the bar let her through, he spoke up, looking unnerved.

"Listen, you're both free to go for now, but you are going to have to come in in the morning and give your statements," he told her, and she gave a small sigh before nodding her assent. "I've been told to leave a car in front of your apartment building to ensure your security, please accept it."

Her Golem half rebelled at the insult to her ability to protect Darnies on her own, before she squashed it down with the reminder that the cop was a mundane and meant it strictly for both of their safety. "Um, yes, thank you," she finally answered, holding the still unresponsive Darnies tighter. His eyes were glazed over she couldn't help her worry. "I really must get him home."
__
When she got him back to his apartment, he spoke his first sentence.

"He waited for me to get down," came out in a hoarse whisper so quiet she almost didn't hear it. Her chest ached at how he still didn't let his eyes roam around, leaving them stuck open wide and unseeing.

"Or," her mind betrayed as she got his healing salve, bandages, and tweezers from the plantless pot that he jokingly refers to as his first aid kit. "or he's seeing something you can't."

"Darnies," she began slowly, warily. "What do you mean?"

"He, uh," the boy began waveringly as she plucked the glass from his arm. "I was trying to take a breath," he started over. "I was by the window and trying to breathe because something about that curse Harry used felt... oily almost. I think he may have checked out the darker part of voodoo for at least part of the curse to give me the reaction it did, y'know?" He shook his head as she carefully washed off his arm, nodding her head as he spoke. He was glad she was acting so calm, because he certainly wasn't. "So I had to feel the air on my skin, I hate when someone else's magic blankets mine. I was looking down the alley wall and I saw this guy. He had a hood up and all I could see was him grinning all creepy. Then he put his finger to his lips like he was shushing me and I knew something was wrong and then I saw the metal and I tried to warn everyone but-"

"Darnies! DarnDarn," Chasa soothed as he got worked up, pulling him into a crushing hug now that she could; she'd put the salve on the bandages and wrapped up his arm somewhere during his spiral, so he was all cleaned up. "I don't mean to sound callous, but you've seen people killed before, shot in the same way even," she spoke candidly, thinking of the Hunter's soulless eyes and the hole in between them as Darnies curled up closer to her. She sighed, it looks like she'd be spending the night with the way he was now. "Why did this effect you so much?"

He gave out a harsh laugh. "Usually I'm at least one of the targets," he answered honestly, pretending he didn't see her frown. "It's easy to think 'oh we're all facing death together,' when I'm with other beings or 'this is for what you've done to us,' when I took out the Hunters that had kidnapped me, but I've never been in the same room as a dead Hunter unless I caused it, and I've never been in a place that got shot at without being one of the targets! I don't know how to react to the new situation!" He exclaimed before laughing hysterically, putting his head in his hands. "I've never not been a target, before..."

Chase breathed out a huge amount of air before taking it back in, trying to quell some of the panic she herself had felt when he started to truly explain his reasoning. "We have to go to the station tomorrow morning-or later today, rather," she mumbled, looking at the clock. "I don't know how much you heard back at the police line..." She trailed off as he nodded, scrubbing at his face tiredly. "Ok, then let's get you out of these dirty clothes."

Once they'd both gotten into pajamas, Chasa having run up to her apartment to grab a little bag of what she needed, they both got into his bed and were out like lights.

__

Gravette City Police Department, Tuesday, May 19th. 10am.

In Interrogation 1, Randall Harwin was grinning at the one way mirror, hands clenching and unclenching as his only sign of true frustration. He hadn't known a cop was in there, that damn halfbreed that he always sees with the magic wielding boy had been covering him from view! He didn't know there were cops literally around the corner when he'd aimed at the Hunter's head, either, and getting caught wasn't part of the plan. He lifted his hands as high as they could go with the cuffs and dropped them back, hard, onto the table, keeping the manic grin on his face despite the outburst.

The first thing he'd done was say that he wouldn't say anything to anyone but the people that were in the bar. He got a snapped, "Greenfield will deal with you in the morning, now shut the fuck up." from the officer that had given him water after being brought in at around two in the morning. He never meant the detective, of course. He wanted damn near anyone else from that bar, not some mundane who didn't know a thing about the gods! He wanted the gods themselves. He wanted to talk to them, to learn how to kill them. All of them. And when there were no gods left to kill? Then there were no gods left to reject him, and he could return to his family as the true god they should worship; the one that had demolished all the gods so that he could be shunned no more. The rush he got from that thought had him opening his mouth despite previous refusal.

"'And so they were born,'" he recited aloud, calling upon one of his first memories of worship. "'Out of elements and energy, made in forms we could comprehend so that we may worship their greatness in flesh, if only we sought them out. No human compares to our gods on earth, for they are unending and forever reborn.'" he laughed and leaned forward on the table, locking eyes with with one of the people behind the mirror. "I'd like to test the theory of the unending, wouldn't you?"
__

At the same time, Darnies and Chasa entered the police station, and despite the May warmth, something made them shiver.

The Librarian and Randall Harwin

Roads leading South from Stein Estates

β€œLove me love me... Need me need me...” Harry Murmured to himself as he fidgeted with his handgun, singing along to the sounds playing softly over the radio of the jet-black SUV he was sitting in the back seat of.

β€œThe Chief got filled in, right Vel?”

β€œAbout the Incident at Rebecca’s Bar, or your intent to act as Harwin’s Lawyer?” Came the woman’s voice from the front seat, Vel. Harry’s Second in command/personal driver and secretary. He had found her, like most of his staff, in quite unpleasant situations, which he had pulled her out of with his connections and resources

β€œThe Harwin one.” He responded absentmindedly, leaning his forehead against the mirror as he looked out into the trees.

β€œYes, the Chief has been made aware you will be involving yourself in this situation, much to his disagreement.”

β€œGood, I’d hate to surprise him.” He said with a wicked grin, before rolling down the window and sticking his head out of it to enjoy the breeze.

GPD, Harwin’s Interrogation Room

The door swings open widely to Harold’s Interrogation cell, and Stein strolls in, his wide brown eyes sharper than razors as he sizes up the young man sitting before him. As the door closes, a strange filter of dark-purple seems to layer over everything in the room, and a tattoo on Stein’s wrist begins to glow ever so slightly. Now, if someone were to eavesdrop they would hear nothing, and the audio and visual recordings of the room would become far too warped to view.

β€œRemember me?” Stein asked with a wide grin as he, rather than sitting on the chair in front of the table Randall, Stood and squated upon the table itself.
”We should talk.”

Randall grinned at the man before him. β€œoh, goodie, the Librarian!” he cheered, taking the ominous setting in stride. β€œI did hope to meet you some day, but I was saving all you magic wielders for last, since it’s so hard to find ways to kill you nowadays, you know? I bet you had something to do with that,” he laced his fingers and rested his chin upon them, smiling up at the bald man.

’He’s fucking perfect.’ Stein thought to himself as he pulled his handgun from it’s holster, and set it on the table within reach. He then placed an empty magazine on the table as well, and produced ten rounds from his coat pocket and set them on the table. Each one was made from differently colored metals, and they made quite the attractive arrangement.

”Germanium, Gold, Cobalt, Tin, Lead, Iron, Titanium, Zinc, Nickel, and Osmium.” He detailed in a bored tone, as if it should be obvious which bullet was what metal. ”One of them can kill me. Pick it, and I’ll let you kill me. Don’t, and I’ll become your lawyer. When you’re declared innocent you’ll come work for me. Understood?”

Randall found himself pouting at the man. β€œI just told you I don’t know what kills magic wielders, I haven't studied your type yet,” he admitted before leaning down to rest his chin on the metal table and stare straight and unblinking at each bullet. He began humming as he looked at each one before slowly knocking down the tin, lead, iron, and nickel.

β€œI've heard of all these so I'm doubtful anything so common would kill one of you,” he explained. β€œI know titanium is really strong, gold is kind of soft if I remember right...I'm pretty sure humans need zinc and like every magic wielder left alive started out human from what I've heard,” he knocked down the gold and zinc, but left the titanium up.

He looked at the four he'd left standing. He only really knew about titanium, he thought cobalt was just a shade of blue, and the other two had him stumped. He slowly knocked the titanium one over with a look of intense concentration. Two more to go. Germanium, cobalt, and osmium were left standing. Then, he realized that if he shot the man here then he’d be stuck in jail for even longer, but if he let the man become his lawyer…

He suddenly sat up and blinked innocently at the man before knocking all the bullets on their side like a sick chest match.

β€œI don't know if any of these kill you,” he said truthfully, the manic smile spreading across his face. β€œbut if I work for you, I can learn, right?”

Harry let out a cackle, a loud, harsh sound that would have rung throughout the GPD had it not been for his spell. Climbing down from the table, his cackling subsided as he circled round Randall and stood behind him, resting his hands on his shoulders. Then, he leaned down and whispered gleefully into the young man’s ear.

β€œNo.”

With that, a simple blade slid down from under the wrist of his jacket, and he plunged it deep into the spine of Randall as his cackle returned, louder than ever. He kept laughing, like a mad man, as he spun the blade around Randall’s throat. Then, with a tug of the man’s hair, he separated his head from his shoulders and placed it neatly on the table. Then, whistling an upbeat tune Harold left the station, wondering which lucky soul would discover his gift.

"What the hell do you mean, he's dead?"

"Was dead when I walked in, sir. Stabbed, decapitated, and had his head put on the table."

Scott was livid. Furious, even. Sure, he wasn't exactly upset that the scumbag was dead- rather, he was upset at the fact that he was dead before there was a chance to interrogate him. After so many dead-ends, they finally had a suspect in custody. They could have finally gotten some answers...but, instead, someone killed him.

Although, at the very least, Scott knew much more than he knew yesterday. Rebecca had been kind enough to fill him in on that. About the supernatural, and the hidden war between them and the Hunters. With what appeared to be an actual hunter in police custody, he had woken up, ready to finally get some answers. Now, all he had were more questions. Who was this man? Why did he, a hunter, kill another hunter? Who did he work with? Who killed him?

Scott looked up to the officer next to him. "Do we have any idea who the perp is?"

"That's the thing. Something had messed with the cameras. Everything's all...warped, almost."

"Oh, perfect. Just perfect." Scott let out a deep sigh. "Look, you stay here for now, make sure nobody touches anything. I'm going to talk to the Chief about this."

And with that, Scott began to walk to the Chief's office. If anyone knew something, it would be him. After all, you couldn't just walk into a police station and kill somebody.

Emily Andrada

Emily wake up from her slumber when she hear her phone alarm go off and the only thing that was making her eyes close was the sunlight from her window, Emily got up from her bed and stretch. she put on a shirt with grey hearts all around it, a black skirt, black flat shoes, tie a hair bun, put on her glasses and step outside for a brand new day at work!

As Emily was headed to the local library, she humming Defying Gravity from Wicked. Wow! What a bright morning it is today! Emily thought to herself while humming I mean, the sun is shining, the sky is bright, the birds are singing, i'm feeling alright, there multiple police cars at the bar that look like a murder crime scene- Emily thought stop and her humming starting to slow down, as she stand right next to the door of the library, Emily is staring at the bar that is surrounded by police cars and cops.

As Emily unlock the door and enter the library, she can't stop staring at the bar. The crime scene look like a scene from those cop shows but Emily can't believe she looking at one in real life. While Emily flip the sign that say we are open, she wonder about the owner of the bar and wonder if she's ok.

Xayah & Rakan

After the interesting events at the bar the two unique individuals had left...headed toward the empty apartment they had hoped to start renting. Since they had had no information they decided to check it out for themselves as their animal selves. After all if they couldn't be comfortable as their true selves what would the point even be?

The next day the two were headed toward the police station in fairly similar clothes to the previous day. They walked close to each other with Xayah having a more open inviting walk and Rakan feeling more like he really didn't want to be out. Both soon made their way inside and Xayah walked up to someone to talk to first.

"Hello? we are here about the incident yesterday...i guess we are supposed to be questioned about it" She looked around and saw Darnies resulting in a rather warm smile from her while Rakan remained silent and had the usual feeling of dread were still present. "Hello i recognize you two" The bright smile continued to be bright "Since we didn't really get to talk yesterday...we should really get to know each other more." Her thing with knowing people could borderline creepy, but her intentions seemed innocent enough.

Fable woke up that morning surrounded by her own blood. She'd been hurt badly the previous night, and blood loss had made it difficult to think straight, so all her attention had been focused on getting away from Elise. Though she wasn't bleeding now, she had multiple gashes across her chest (the shirt from last night, which she was still wearing, was in shreds), and her nose hurt very badly. It was still difficult to think, but Fable pushed through the haze for a few minutes in order to think. It was obvious that she needed medical attention, but heading outside in broad daylight like this could get her killed. Then she remembered: Elise would have to go to the precinct today for questioning; the Hunter was hardly an upstanding citizen, but she recognised the practicalities of not pissing off the police. This would give Fable time to get to the hospital.

So, trying her best to stay on her feet, Fable staggered off in what she thought was the right direction. She'd never had made it on her own, but thankfully, it is very difficult to get anywhere in a Western city in that kind of state without people finding it abnormal. A brief act of altruism later (which may have been "encouraged" by a little Fae magic), Fable was in a car on the way to hospital.

Elise was unhappy. She was angry, furious. Her chance had been there, Fable had been right there. On the floor, badly injured and lying on the concrete. Then gone, as if she'd never been present at all.

And worst of all, Elise couldn't continue her search. After the events at the bar last night, the cops would want to talk to her. And saying no was never a smart way to procede. It drew attention as a murder suspect and only slowed Hunters down in the long run. Thus, Elise got to the precinct as early as possible, hoping to get it over with quickly.

Entering the precinct, Elise acknowledged the ones from last night present with a brief nod in their direction, before speaking to the same person as Zayah, simply saying "Same as her," before standing to one side and waiting for things to get moving.

Rebecca shook her head as she drove to the precinct. There had been "incidents" at Paradise before, but obviously nothing like this. Sure, she didn't need to eat or anything, but if the bar stayed closed too long, people would start to ask questions. She needed to know when the investigators would be done and she could reopen.

As she entered the precinct, a couple of people were already there, talking about the fact that they still had to be questioned. "They already got to me, but I still need to know when I can get back to business."

Darnies and Chasa had been settled on the bench in front of the reception desk for a few minutes before he felt it; the draw of energy around them that told him someone was using magic close by. He had stiffened up and closed his eyes, following the draw to the hallway with the interrogation rooms, and when his searching magic had halted as though he hit a wall, he had an unfortunate feeling. Still, he analyzed what he could, the only thing he could with the odd barrier currently active; The magical signature. It took a moment before he was able to recognize Harry's signature, the barrier muddling that along with whatever else it was meant for. He frowned.

Chasa nudged him from where he'd rested his head on her shoulder, and he looked up to see her giving him a concerned look, her eyes searching. He gave her the barest shake of his head, indicating this wasn't the place to talk about whatever she saw when she got a good look at his face. She nodded in response just as some of the others began to arrive.

The first were the odd pair that had come a little late to the...party last night. They came over to Darnies and Chasa after they me with the Desk Sergeant, talking about getting to know each other. Darnies found himself only partially willing to do this, given that he doesn't often come across a Black Dog or Familiar level Demon- which he knows them to be now that he can focus on their energy and not an impending bloodbath- and the times he has, Familiar-wise at least, the being usually tried to bond with him as they recognized his ability to use magic, but not the fact that he was a Witch. When one tried to force a bond between them without his knowledge, the magic swirling in his very soul has lashed out and vaporized the poor thing. The thoughts must have shown on his face because Chasa gave a polite cough before extending her hand to the two.

"Sorry about him, I'm Chasa," She introduced, ever the friendly one. "And this is Darnies," Her side eye had him putting his hand out for a shake as well, just as the Hunter girl came in, gave a brief comment to the Desk Sergeant, and moved to the other wall with a small nod in their general direction. Darnies narrowed his eyes but nodded back as well. Rebecca glided in just after, and now that they were all there, he was hoping they could get this over with.

As he thought this, he realized that everyone's arrival had distracted him from keeping an eye on Harry's barrier, and when he tuned back into it, it was gone along with any trace of his presence. That did not bode well.

He was proven right as just a few moments later, a stone-faced officer came up to them.

"Ladies and Gentlemen, I'm afraid that on top of giving your statements on last night, we will have to interview you each separately before you are allowed to leave," He spoke up, causing Chasa to look concerned.

"Sorry, Officer, but why is that?" She asked as they were led to the hallway with the interrogation and interview rooms, Chasa making sure to stay between Darnies and the Hunter. The officer didn't say anything until they were in the secured waiting room. Once they were all sat down, he finally answered.

"The perpetrator of last night's attack was found murdered in his interrogation room; as you were all potential targets of his, we need to interview each of you. It might take a while," he said before settling in a chair himself and watching them all, probably to make sure they didn't try to share information or make up stories. Darnies sighed and dug his thumbs into the sides of his nose, resting his elbows on the arms of the chair and keeping his head down.

Elise raised her eyebrows at the announcement that they'd all have to be interrogated, looking intensely in the officer's direction but saying nothing, unhappy that she'd be delayed from the hunt even more. She was interested in the answer to Chasa's question, and annoyed that they didn't get an answer immediately. Shaking her head slightly, she moved away from the wall, walking alongside Chasa, and noticing her intentional placement between her and Darnies. Friendship, or something else? Either way, Elise was happy to oblige; the woman could die first.

Last night's attacker had been murdered? Less than helpful. Not only would the interrogation delay her more, there was the possbility that she'd be falsely accused of performing the crime, especially considering the shortsword that was on her person, albeit folded and in a hidden pocket on the inside of her jacket. If she were found to have a concealed weapon, well, it wouldn't go well for her.

Elise watched as the others took their seats, but didn't sit down herself, instead saying "Well? Shall we get a move on? You said this would take some time, let's get on with it, then." It was clear enough that she didn't want to be stuck here for long.

Grayvette Police Department

Police Chief Baynard

"What the hell makes you think I'm gonna let this slide Stein?" The large man roared into the telephone of his desk, pounding his fist on the oak that was far, far too expensive for the P.D.'s budget.

"You walked into my station, and murdered one of my suspects, then you called me to let me know!"

"Well I wasn't planning to pull this card but." Came a ragged voice, followed by a sigh on the other end of the phone.

"Hi Daddy!! Mommy's taking a nap so Mr. Harry took me to get Ice-cream!! He and his friend Ms. Vel took me out to Cold-Stone and let me get what ever I wanted!! She even let me pet her kitty!" Came the voice of a very, very young girl over the phone.

"That's wonderful sweetheart, could you put Mr. Harry back on the phone?" He asked in an attempt at sounding calm, as not to worry his daughter.

"Yello." Came the Librarians voice soon after.

"Get me a scapegoat." Baynard stated, defeated as he hung up the phone. It rang soon after though, his secretary letting him know that detective Greenfield wished to see him.

"Of course he does. Send him in."

Officer Jeremy Corban

'Well today hasn't started well.' He though to himself as he opened the door to the interrogation waiting rooms, he nodded to the officer that was waiting in the hallway before producing a sheet of paper from his back pocket.

"Alright, Listen up!" He called out loudly, demanding the group's attention.

"Mr. Magula, you'll be going to interrogation room 1-A, Ms. Chasa, you'll be in 1-B, Ms. Xayah in 2-A, Mr. Rakan 2-B, Ms. Elwynder 3-A, and Ms. Fletcher will be in 3-B. Make it snappy."

He crossed his arms and waited for them to comply, as they entered their respective rooms they would be told to take a seat and place their hands on the table, then wait for the interrogator to begin questioning them.
