@Hekazu

Damn, I was afraid of this. Positioning kills. I know I can still attack while within and allies square but I can’t end my turn there, and I’d have to use all my movement to get to the dragonclaw anyways.

I guess this means all I can do is either dash or attempt to throw my sword huh?

That seems about right.

Aight, sword throwing it is. I'm fairly confident that I'd still be able to hit using my old rolls, though with an improvised weapon since most machetes are meant to be thrown. That'll then turn my attack into 22 and the damage into 9, since I can't reckless a thrown weapon attack and rage damage only applies to melee attacks. Orchid would throw his sword from 10 feet of the Dragonclaw, since I'm somewhat certain I won't get range disadvantage for improvised weapons within 10 feet, then use my last 5 feet of movement to move diagonally north-west so Orchid is next to Parum on the map.

Thrown improvised weapons do have a range of 20/60, but throwing melee weapons that lack the Thrown property use 1d4 as their damage die (PHB, p. 148) @Lucius Cypher. The attack roll can thus indeed be recycled, but you will have to roll the damage again.

Or you can change your mind, still.

Hmm. I got one more idea different from dashing or throwing. Or orchid tried to make a grapple against the dragonclaw, could he and the dragonclaw occupy the same space, since they’re both going to effectively be stuck together?

Grappling does not move you to the other creature's space, it simply subjects the target to the Grappled condition (PHB p.195). Also, sharing a space with another creature unless a feature specifically suggests otherwise is not doable (PHB p.191). And moving through other creature's space is considered difficult terrain (PHB p.190).

Dammit, poor positioning kills. Alright maybe I'll just throw my sword. Fortuantely I got a 7, which would be the max amount of damage I could've pulled off with a 1d4 anyways.

Very well, effects will be applied accordingly.

Now, we move on to the Dragonclaw's turn. He Disengages, and orders his mount to Dash. Those in melee range, namely Brannor (@The Harbinger of Ferocity) and Torus (@Gordian Nought) are granted an opportunity attack against the mount, and only the mount, should they seek to take it. As per usual, 24 hours for the rolls or decline (though I do not expect the latter to be the case), after which I shall fill in for them.

The moonsworn paladin attacks the mount in an effort to cripple or kill it and its rider's odds at escape, swinging the greatsword for a deathly 22 to hit, with a 10 for slashing damage. Because Brannor is specialized in Great Weapon Fighting for his Fighting Style, the 1 is rerolled to a 5, causing the total damage done to become 14. Assuming it hits, it should put quite a damper on the attempt, @Hekazu.

That would indeed do it. A falling horse, followed by… let's see here… burning of the Dragonclaw's reaction and he will use his own movement instead. Since the horse dies, Torus needs not provide their roll. I shall get on to writing the post about this.

I would say a resounding success then and quite right to keep running as fast as one's legs can carry. The mob of killer things not far behind are probably reasonably frightening and dangerous, especially alone by one's self.

Sorry, I'm here. I ended up spraining my wrist a few days ago and it's been hell to do any typing on my phone or computer. I'v finally regained enough dexterity to type but it still hurts to use more than two fingers.

I am sorry to report that the Dragonclaw makes its save at 17. Better luck next time @Ryonara! In my in-person game our Bard kept having similar luck with enemies saving everything relating to Wisdom. I wonder if it is contagious?

Either way, it is now Torus's turn @Gordian Nought.

@Lucius Cypher You are up. Remember your lack of weapon, given it is in the cultist's (bleeding) hands right now.
