She hides her "peasant garb" of a blouse, skirt, and a dark hood in case she has that itch to explore without turning heads. Colette will also wear a ribbon in her hair, which she likes to have down, unless protocol demands it be up.
Adventurous * Headstrong * Elegant * Naive * Stoic * Self-Indulgent
Sexuality: Heterosexual
Relationship Status: Single
Personality: Colette is a lady by all accounts, elegant and fair in her attitudes. However, her brother's influence may have gotten the better of her as years went on. Colette enjoys exploring and seeing what is out there outside of ivy walls and turrets. She is curious and questioning. She enjoys an adventure and doesn't back down often when met with conflict.
Colette can be rather stubborn and headstrong, especially when she knows what she wants and aims to get it. To that end, she is self-indulgent in her desires, despite how daunting that may seem. Naive to the outside world, she wants to learn more and grow. Colette is able to take on great deals of hardships and pains without batting much of an eyelash. She compares herself to her brother, who is in every way her best friend. She aims to prove herself to him as well as to herself.

What Is On Your Person:Residence:
Family History: Colette is the youngest daughter of three. Born into the de La Fontaine family, run by Count Alexandre, her father. Colette's mother, Countess Marthe, keeps the home and the children in top shape (though it has been rumored she is the backbone of the family). Her father has a large hand in the French political scene in Lyon, being a member of the Chamber of Deputies, spanning all the way into Paris, though he prefers to remain in Lyon. Count Alexandre has often been called harsh, but he has the upmost respect and devotion to his family.
Colette's older siblings, one brother and one sister, Leon and Giselle respectfully, were raised with specific intentions in mind. Leon would go to school, learn, educate himself, and come back to take over the family name when he comes of age. Giselle would be married to the Belcourt family to establish respect. However, Giselle had other intentions in mind and the girl ran off to marry a clergy's son, leaving the family with no known whereabouts.
Then Colette came along. Alexandre's plan was still dashed as the Belcourts moved on. Alexandre sought other ties, notably in China where Colette was sent for training. Unbenknownst to Count Alexandre, Colette took to training and rather enjoyed it, spurred on by a friendly rivalry with her brother to see who could best the other. Currently, Leon is at University, but he still sends letters to his sister, who is (trying to) live with her parents in their family estate in Lyon.
Your personal life: Colette is the youngest daughter in the de La Fontaine Family. Originally, she was not planned, but since her older sister Giselle had other ideas for her future, the de La Fontaine family needed a new plan. While her older brother Leon went to University, Colette was bred into a fine lady, given the best education possible, wanted for very little as she got older.
Colette and her brother got along really well. Since they were fairly close in age, Leon would invite Colette out whenever it was possible. They would have to sneak past their teacher and the guards, but they loved to explore the surrounding area outside of their family home. Leon would often get in trouble for taking his sister out, but Colette grew to love being able to sneak out and see outside of castle walls.
Count Alexandre needed to establish ties in order to continue to secure the family's financial well-being. With ties between China and France coming to head due to religion, it seemed like the best to send Colette there for training. Count Alexandre sought for and found a prominent household and established ties with them. If they allowed Colette to come in to train, he promised her hand in marriage to their eldest heir. A deal was struck and Colette went to China to train.
Colette grew to enjoy her training, as hard as it was. She was bound and determined to not let it get to her and be seen as just another weak woman. As much as she loved her family, she wasn't looking forward to marrying someone she hardly knew, so she sought to get to know the boy better.
As it turns out, the boy was a jackass. He looked down on her just for the fact she was a woman (plus she was French, which the boy said were the weakest of all the people). She grew to hate the boy, so she devoted herself to her training. In the end, she returned back home. She didn't dare tell her father she wouldn't marry the boy, instead she told her mother, who comforted her. Her mother convinced her husband that Colette needed some more experience in the world before she was wed off. While the marriage wasn't called off, it was postponed.
Colette had limited time in order to get out of this mess.
What you want for your life: Colette wants many things out of like, but they all revolve around her wishes and desires. She loves her family and aims to preserve and advance the de La Fontaine family name, but she doesn't want to be forced into something she can't enjoy. She wants to explore, learn, and reveal the world around her. She wants love and wants to find someone she can wed and have a family with. She hopes she can remain close to her brother, as well.
Character Quote(s): "A Lady never starts fights, but she can finish them."
"A man says, a woman does."
"A woman's most deadly weapon is her smile."
