Erik and Ellie

Erik was still driving the car, they were almost to where they needed to be. Ellie's words about just killing off the humans stuck with him though, but he didn't say anything more on the subject. He didn't know what to say or anything to change the subject, so he just fell silent. Ellie was just listening to the tunes on the radio, not even noticing that her words had given him so much thought. She had grown up in an extremely religious and violent family. The thought of killing humanity as revenge, for the safety of mutantkind - it wasn't even something she thought twice about.

"We there yet or am I gonnas need to fit myself for a coffin?" Ellie quipped.

"We are almost there Ellie, it isn't much farther now, do not worry, you won't have to do that," he said chuckling slightly at her words. They were very nearly there now, so she shouldn't be complaining for too much longer in his mind.

"Mahogany, by the way," Ellie told him. "Not that ya asked but I figures it's the best wood to be buried in. And where is there again, connard?" Her attention span was incredibly short and she had practically forgotten everything he told her already, besides the fact that they were meeting some contact of Charles'. She was pretty sure the contact was a girl, which made her smile slightly.

"Wonder how you know that... Anyway, there is a CIA building here in New York City, we are meeting her there, and we are almost there now Ellie, so do not worry about being bored for too much longer."

"Nah, now I gets to worry 'bout a bunch of damn yankees tellin' me about how the South was doomed from the start," Ellie joked. Although she identified as a Cajun first and Southerner second, American was in dead last - mutant and ex-Christian fanatic both superseded it. However, she couldn't help but wonder if Charles having friends in the CIA was such a good idea. What if that had something to do with him getting caught up in the program?

"I may not be a telepath, but I know what you are thinking. Moira McTaggert isn't actually with the CIA, she's mainly a consultant who pulled a few strings for us. She generally is in Scotland, but she's been in the States for a while now, so she has some connections to help us out."

"That does remind me, mon ami....Is Charles fake British or real British?" she asked simply. His voice always suggested to her that he had something to do with England, but given that it was his family's estate in New York, she was leaning towards the latter.

"Fake British, he was born here in New York, however he did attend university in England, which is why he has a slight accent."

Ellie cackled gleefully. "I'm so gonna smash his china, mon ami. If he ain't real British, then he's just playin' a show. Like those idiots from Quebec that think they're just the same as us Cajuns."

Erik chuckled more as they entered the main city. Eventually, he pulled up next to a large building. "Well, here we are, see? Told you it wouldn't take too long to get here."

@ihinka@Morose Erik got out of the car, and headed towards the building. There was a woman standing there, and Carolina would be with her. The woman looked over at them, she had a slight Scottish accent to her voice as she spoke. "Hello there, you must be Erik Lensherr, Charles told me you would be coming," she said, before she shook his hand. "This is my associate, Carolina Camacho, I believe she might be able to help in yours and Charles' mission."
"Pleasure to meet you both, mind leading the way Ms. MacTaggert?" Erik said, and Moira nodded, before leading the way inside the building.

Miranda Fay

"I told her not to, this is not what I had in mind exactly. Miranda, if you are going to throw things, don't throw anything sharp at people..." Charles said, shaking his head slightly, looking at her.

"What? She said to try throwing things faster than what was being thrown at her before... I apologize for if I accidentally hurt you... That wasn't my intentions... I was just feeling a little bit useless since I wasn't really able to do anything while those two had a better chance of using their powers in a combat situation. Honestly, I'm not even sure why I'm here unless you need someone to create a major distraction or whatever..." Miranda said with a little huff of a breath, crossing her arms.

"Also, don't blame Charles for that, it was entirely my own fault, not his. I chose to do that, I just grabbed whatever and threw what I found... I wasn't exactly thinking, so once again, I apologize for that... Maybe next time I'll shoot off some holographic things at you, make it a bit easier to ensure you don't get hurt, I probably should have done that first..." she said softly, before creating a few different pencils and books as if out of thin air, they appeared in her hands, and she said nothing more. Miranda felt a little bad about what had happened, and she apologized twice for it, so hopefully they would forgive her for it, and not take their anger out on Charles.

Xavier just shook his head, letting out a bit of a sigh himself yet again. He knew that Miranda felt a bit useless when it came to her powers, but it wasn't like she couldn't do anything. There were other ways she could help out, if only she could see it. Charles also was hoping that Erik was having better luck with Ellie when it came to meeting up with Moira.

Katalina turned her head to look at Mythri for a moment, she was grateful for her words but she didn't blame Miranda either for throwing stuff the way she did. "I'm fine, really no need to be sorry." Katalina said as she stood up again and brushed herself off and rubbed the back of her neck. As she looked over towards Charles for a moment, and then over towards Miranda and smiled slightly towards her as long as she didn't end up getting a knife or pencil in her she would be completely fine. She then watched as Miranda made some holographic projections with her mind or whatever she used to make them, either way the power was actualy pretty cool at least in her mind. "It can certainly be useful, you could really screw with someone's head if you really wanted to at least." Katalina said towards her.

"At least there isn't a room completely built downstairs somewhere that is used for training and really hurting us." She said jokingly as she went back and sat down on the chair. Her attention then turned directly towards Charles now, Kat was pretty bored now and she wasn't really sure what else they had planned. Erik and the other girl went off to do their own little mission, to go against the program that the two men escaped from.

"So what else do you got planned here anyway?" Katalina asked the older man as she adjusted her hair slightly she really wasn't sure what else they could be doing while at the mansion. She then eyed Miranda and Mythri as well, she was curious what they wanted to do next as well. "Oh what else can you tell us about the place you two escaped from?" If they were going against something like this then she needed to also know more on what they would be facing as well.

Ellie Theriot

Location: Building in New York
Personality Traits: Playful * Bipolar * Free Spirited * Rebellious * Caring * Rude

Ellie couldn't help but size up the Scottish woman affiliated with the CIA. The fact that she was British didn't help the image that was rapidly forming - an entrenched public servant, out to ruin the lives of ordinary people. She was almost positive Moira would do it while stroking a cat as well. No one went into the government unless there was something wrong with them. The world would be better off without governing bodies and authorities. After all, the Experiment X program never would have existed without them!

"Allô? I'm a person too, you know," Ellie pointed out, crossing her arms with a bit of irritation. "Et quoi?! Connasse," Ellie muttered, noticing that Moira hadn't tried to shake her hand. She knew that she had a bit of a baby face, but she was an adult and she deserved to be treated like a person - not an afterthought. Surely Moira would know that? But then again, Ellie was more and more convinced that she didn't like this woman and she wouldn't be surprised if Moira ended up being behind Experiment X in the first place.

Carolina Tamayo Camacho

Location: Building in New York
Skills: N/A
Personality Traits: Loyal * Harsh * Unwavering * Grumpy * Helpful * Sullen

Maya was at her regular training spot, deep within the Amazon. Well-hidden and secluded. Away from any prying eyes. Here she was free to unleash her powers and true capabilities as well as work on developing new facets of her piezokinesis. Only the various flora and fauna bore witness to what she could do. And they would never betray her. For in this day and age people like her were feared, scorned and even hunted like some rare specimens to be experiment on.

Carolina took a deep breath, extended her right hand and exhaled. From another's perspective it would appear as if she was just standing there in the forest with her hand raised at chest level. But only seconds later they would be shocked to see one of the more distant trees shake violently. It would be only natural since they couldn't see the pressure wave she'd just sent towards that tree. At thirty-seven Caro was already pretty versed with her powers. Especially when using them in close quarters combat to enhance her punches, kicks, holds and almost anything really. By this point she had integrated her piezokinesis with all her combat skills. However she was still working to improve on her more long-ranged techniques. Oh, they were powerful enough. It was precision she was working on at the moment.

As she was raising her hand for another try, her sat phone vibrated in the pocket of her cargo pants. The wilderness guide sighed, lowered her hand and fished the phone out of her pocket. Few people had this number and if they were calling her on it, it wasn't for anything good.

"Sí!" She answered gruffly. Then closed her eyes and struggled to get her frustration with the caller under control as she listened. But instead of calming down, her features rearranged in an even more irritated expression. "I don't know where you got this number from, Miss MacTaggert or how you knew about me. I don't know you and I don't appreciate you calling on me like this! Now, since I can understand your friend's plight, I'll listen. But make no mistake! I don't trust you just because you say you're working with the CIA. On the contrary. It makes me even more wary."

Carolina stood a few steps behind Moira as the man, who appeared to be in his forties, arrived with a young woman in tow. Maya observed them as Moira made the introductions. The man, Erik, seemed polite and jovial enough. He acknowledged them both and suggested they went inside to do their business. And while he appeared cordial enough there was just something about him that made the fine hairs on Maya's body stand at attention. It wasn't that she was particularly biased against men. It was just that in her life and with her experience she'd learned to be a little more sensitive towards them. To read them better. And this man... This man that looked polite and friendly on the outside, felt cold and calculating on the inside to her. If there was one thing she tried to teach the kids at the orphanage she'd grown up in, it was that thick skin could protect you from all the shit thrown your way, but a stone heart would only kill you from the inside little by little.

And his companion. Well... French was not among the languages she spoke, but it was close enough to Spanish for Carolina to catch that last, little nasty word the girl had muttered. The kid was ill-mannered and plain rude! While she could understand her frustration with Moira not offering to shake her hand as well, that was no way to react. It was childish and petty. Well, she's young still. With guidance she could learn to outgrow it. Caro mused. But somehow I don't think that man is the right person to do it. Maya hoped this was not the best Moira's Charles had to offer. Because if it was, she wasn't impressed. Not one bit!

Mythri fumed, standing there listening to Miranda apologize. "No, actually she does have something to be sorry about. You got hurt, I very nearly did. If these were sharper instruments we could very well be dead right now. We both don't have control over our abilities, but princess here started feeling left out so she took matters in her own hands. If this is how you plan on teaching us, you may as well sign me out because I am not being a part of some test dummy experimentation. Either you know your shit or you don't. Which is it?"

It didn't occur to Mythri just what she had been feeling when she directed her anger towards Charles. It wasn't all him either. She started having doubts about herself and her own abilities and it just happened to find a good opportunity to unleash itself in this particular moment.

@ihinka@Morose"I apologize... You are?" Moira asked, looking at Ellie.

"This is Ellie Theriot, an associate of ours," Erik said, giving Ellie a slight smile, before looking back at Moira, "So, there was some information that Charles said you had for us, some of which could prove useful to us?"

"Yes, of course, right this way," she said, nodding her head and leading the way inside of the building, swiping a badge that she had with her to unlock the door. She led them through a series of hallways, every now and then, if they looked in a corner of the hallway, they'd find there was security cameras. However, they would notice that they didn't seem to be on at the moment as Moira went to another room and opened up the door, walking inside. The room was lined with filling cabinets, there was one or two computers in the room too. "Here, several of these cabinets are filled with everything you would ever want to know about the program."

Miranda Fay

'Thanks..." she said, giving Katalina a smile. Miranda then glared at Mythri, the girl was really getting on her nerves. "Hey! Don't get pissed off at him! Be mad at me, it was my fault anyway," she snapped at her. The fact that the girl was blaming Charles for something that he had no control over, she seemed so entitled or something, that everyone was to blame for something. Not to mention the fact that this was the man who was trying to help them all in the long run, despite what anyone else was saying. Any of them could have gotten caught by those guys, but no, they were busy arguing and fighting each other.

"Calm down Miranda..." Charles warned slightly, before he turned to address Mythri. "I understand your anger Mythri, and you are correct, I should have stopped her, however, there is no use arguing about it now. And believe me, there are worse things out there than a few pencils and books." he added this last part, almost with a warning in his voice of some kind. "The place we ran from, the place that made Erik and I realize what was happening across the country, is known as Department K, which is the cover name for the actual place. The program was meant to turn mutants into living weapons that the government could control, and they are still in operation. The facility was an old run down sort of building, in the middle of the Canadian wilderness. We didn't pay much attention to what was in the building, as while we were there, occasionally there was a yell or a scream coming from the other rooms. However, we were the only ones still living from what we saw when we made our escape. This is why we are trying to stop them, why we are trying to shut down the program. What happened in that place, it is far worse than most things that I can throw at you in this place," he said, before he got up from his chair, and walked over to the window, looking outside.

Miranda fell silent as well, hearing what Charles had said. Of course, the fact that Mythri was blaming him for a lot of things, as well as what Katalina had asked probably had triggered some bad memories for him. She felt bad for the man, and it made her wonder just how he kept going, both him and Erik. The fact that they were both fighting against something that they had survived through, it was interesting to see just how things went with them, how they kept going, she admired them for that.

Carolina followed Moira, Erik and Elle into the building as the woman led them through a series of hallways. There were security cameras in key locations, but as Caro stopped to look more closely at one, it didn't appear to be working. So we were never hear, huh?! Caro scoffed and shrugged. Soon enough Moira led them into a room lined with filling cabinets explaining all the information they could ever need on the program was in those.

Maya looked at Moira suspiciously. "How exactly did you obtain this information and why aren't you doing something about it?" The question was delivered with Carolina's signature gruffness, but laced with a hefty dose of sarcasm. "¡No importa!" Caro shrugged, looking more sullen than usual. She didn't care for spooks and their theatrics. Opening the first cabinet she came across, she started looking through the files distractedly. Unsurprisingly she didn't find anything so she moved on over to the next cabinet. Chika, you're here to help fellow mutants, if these spooks have the information you need, grit your teeth and get with the program! Maya scolded herself and started looking through the files good and proper. "¡Diana!" Caro exclaimed thumbing through one of the dossiers. She found a folded piece of paper, which turned out to be a floor plan of the building. Unfortunately it didn't contain any additional information on the security measures. And they would need that if the mission was to succeed.

Maya looked up and noticed that Erik's friend was aimlessly searching through cabinets. "¡Oye, bonita!" Caro approached Elle. "Sorry." She apologized gruffly. What had Erik called her? Elle...? "Elle, right? Placer, soy Carolina. Mira, I found a floor plan for this building we need to infiltrate. Is good, but not enough. We need details on the security. Think you can help me look?" Caro looked Elle in the eyes expectantly. So what if the girl was rude. She wasn't miss Congeniality either. One could always learn manners if they worked on it. Caro handed the floor plan to the young woman and went back to studying the file she'd found the building layout in. There was information on Charles and Erik there. Possible ways to enhance their abilities, as well as the name of the person in charge of the experiments. Dr. Zhi "Michael" Jiāng.

Doctor Mengele, huh? Let's see if we can find something more on you, Good Doctor! Caro's thoughts dripped with venom. She continued thumbing through the file and even looked in a few other ones as well. All she managed to find was that Dr. Jiāng was a mutant himself with the power of Age Manipulation. "Interesting!" Maya muttered. "Experimenting on your own kind. That's really low, Doctor!" Caro looked at Erik. "¡Oye!" She called, approaching him with the file on him and Charles. "Might wanna take a look at this." She handed him the file and returned to where Elle was. "Find anything?"

Ellie couldn't help but be a bit impressed that they had computers. She'd only ever seen one before - the one at Charles' house - and he had forbidden her to touch it. Naturally, that meant she only wanted to use it more. She was about to head on over to it, a still bit annoyed that McTaggert and Co hadn't bothered to treat her like a person, when people started to sift through files. "Il y a beaucoup d'information ici," Ellie muttered under her breath. She supposed it was something to be happy about and she chose a cabinet at random, pulling the papers out and flinging them into the air each time she determined they weren't what they wanted.

"Il pleut du papier!" she told Erik happily, laughing as she emptied the cabinet she had been looking for, finding nothing of any importance. She then heard Caro call over to her, first calling her bonita and then Elle? She would have been more annoyed if it wasn't an acceptable shortened version of her name - Eliette - but still, she was basically calling her She as far as Ellie was concerned.

"Tu parles comme une vache," Ellie mumbled, taking the plan from Caro. She was tempted to toss it into the air, but she knew that it was important so she looked at it for a moment, before handing it over to Erik unceremoniously.

Katalina gave Miranda a friendly smile and nod towards her, as she looked directly over towards Mythri the girl seemed to be angry, she wasn't sure if it was all the time or not. But she seemed to now be pointing fingers at Charles, and simply just shrugged as her attention went fully towards Charles as he spoke about the program. To her it sounded like it was something worse than death, being experimented on by the government and forced to be some kind of military weapon against them. She leaned forward as she rubbed the back of her neck and thought for a moment before looking over towards Charles.

"Why not bring out powers to the public or something? It would probably bring out more people like us out of the woodwork and then bring up the whole experiment stuff up?" Katalina asked, as much as she wanted to remain in secret with her powers maybe it would also bring awareness on what was actually going on around them. "Or we could go to the facility itself and try and take it out from the inside or something since you and Erik now the ins and outs of the facility itself?"

Mythri was angry. And she had a right to be dammit! "This facility sounds bad. I got that. I came here, didn't I? I want to help, but having pencils thrown at me is not helping. Babysitting whiny brats because they feel left out is not helping." Which she directed to Miranda now. Mythri took a second and calmed down. Holding up her hands in mock defense. "Sorry. Out of line. I'm just...I don't want to be targeted. I have a family. If we show ourselves, sure we may find more of us, but it also puts targets on our backs."

"Humans don't need much provocation to fight what they don't know. My dad found that out the hard way, so excuse me if I feel some hesitation is in order. I am down for training and for stopping this facility, but there has to be a better way."
Mythri sat down now, waiting for Charles to speak and, hopefully, provide the answers she wants.

Weapon X Lab, Northern Canada - 16 months ago

Dr. Laurence Odell, one of the higher ups in the department was flipping through files, going over the names of the two new "volunteers' within the program. Both mutants, one with incredible telepathy, another who could control metal. There were several different ways things could go with the two, and they were certainly an interesting pairing to say the least. "So doctor, might I ask what your opinions of the two would be? Or more of recommendations on what we should do with them?"

Dr. Zhi "Michael" Jiāng looked over at his colleague. He was a mutant himself, gifted with the ability to change an individual's age. He never revealed to anyone exactly how old he himself was, yet the Experiment X project thrilled him. Very few organizations were funding this sort of research at the moment and even those that were, they were limited with poor technology. "Of course...I believe we have found our candidates," he said simply. "I would classify them each as omega and with these powers...I do wonder if the subjects can complete Project Onslaught."

"It would appear so... However doctor, they aren't exactly in the prime of their lives. They are well into their fourties, despite their powerful abilities, most of our subjects who we've considered are a lot younger than these two. That might prove to be a bit of an issue," he pointed out, though he figured it was pointless to argue, after all, Jiāng was a mutant with interesting abilities of his own that could solve this problem rather easily.

Jiāng sighed, looking at him. "What sort of idiot do you take me for?" he asked, before in order to prove his point, he waved his hand and the other scientist turned into a 12 year old. "...I think you are much improved like this, but unfortunately, I can't keep you like this - I need someone to work with," he mused, waving his hand and turning him back.

"I apologize if I insulted you Dr. Jiāng, so, we are to go forth with the plan then? You can age them to be however old we need them to be, and proceed then? It will be interesting to see the results of our efforts. No matter what happens, these two will play an important role in our work and research."

"Yes, I will go and de age them momentarily. And no matter the outcome, I imagine we will have some form of breakthrough..."

@ihinka@Morose Erik took the file from Carolina, and started flipping through it, frowning slightly at it. "This... This is not what I expected... It has a lot of information about what exactly..." he said, his eyes growing wide, before he pulled one piece of paper out and ripped it apart. He didn't want the others to see what was in it, and he planned to keep it quiet. The rest of the info was mainly talking about how to amplify their powers. "Calm down Ellie, Ms. MacTaggart, how long are we able to be in here?" he asked Moira, looking at her. "Unfortunately, we should probably leave in the next 10-20 minutes or so, since that's when the loop I put the cameras through to make it so they didn't see you enter the building, or this room..."

Miranda Fay

Miranda returned Katalina's smile, she was finding that out of everyone who they had met, she preferred Katalina over them. Ellie was a little bit of a wild person, and Mythri had way too much of an attitude for her to be able to easily deal with, Katalina at least seemed like a nice person to be around. Charles and Erik were wild cards in her opinion, they seemed like two different people, but somehow they were the best of friends. She didn't have too much of an opinion on them.

She glanced over at Charles, trying to figure out what was going through his head as he seemed to be contemplating how to answer the questions of the other two. After a moment's hesitation, he looked over at Katalina, "The problem is revealing the existence of mutants at this point in time might backfire and hurt us, since people tend to fear that which they do not understand. However, going after the facility itself, is what we plan... Erik went to visit a friend of mine, Moira MacTaggart, with Eliette to get as much information as possible about the facility itself, as when Erik and I ran from it, we tried to avoid paying much attention to what was going on in the building around us. We know roughly where it is, but we need more information before we can even think to strike against it."

Miranda nodded, "That makes sense... Get as much information as possible before we strike, you can't just rush head on into anything, no matter what it is. Whether it is breaking into a facility to shut it down, or an engine of sorts that you are trying to put together, it doesn't matter. Everything needs to be thought through before you can do something."

He nodded in agreement with her, and she was glad for that. Then there was the issue of what Mythri had blurted out about training and such. "There likely is a better way, especially since we likely might be fighting others... Perhaps... Perhaps we should see about something, Katalina, you mentioned at one point about there being a room that we could use underneath the mansion? There is a basement area that might serve well, and Miranda, I will need your help with it," he said, before he headed out of the room, and opened a door showing a stairway down, and headed downstairs. Miranda looked at the others and just shrugged, before she followed after him.

Katalina looked over at Miranda and returned the smile the girl seemed to be pretty friendly enough even if she did through some sharp objects directly at her a few moments ago. But then again she did say throw somethings at her, so she had it coming Kat didn't know to much about Mythri, or Charles the other guy named Erik and Eillete. She leaned back in her seat as she eyed Charles and nodded slightly it was probably a dumb idea anyway. She of course didn't want to exposed to the world yet either which would end up causing problems for her as well. "Your probably right then, it would draw to much attention and maybe make things worse." Katalina said, as she looked over at Mythri then back at Charles.

"I was actually just joking about that.." Katalina said as she rubbed the back of her neck awkwardly, it was certainly a pretty weird idea but a good way to train. But she of course didn't want to have dangerous objects thrown directly at her or possibly get injured either, but hey at least Miranda would get to help as well. "Lead the way bossman." Kat said as she quickly stood up and started to follow behind the others and headed down towards the basement.

Caro looked expectantly at Elle, but after a few moments without any reaction the Jefa just shrugged and turned to rummage through some files for any information on the security of the compound where Erik and Charles were held captive. She glanced up when she heard Moira warn them that they had no more than fifteen to twenty minutes to pursue the files until they had to leave. "Maldidos espias and their cloak and dagger shit!" Carolina grumbled as she redoubled her efforts to find something, anything really on the compound's defenses to help them with their mission. She was thumbing through some files, wondering why that young woman, Elle, was so angry and pinched all the time. Wait... Caro realized something. ¡Mierda! It was Ellie, not Elle, estupida! Maya resisted the urge to slap herself on the forehead, regretting the misstep. I mean why wouldn't someone be irritated if they were called by the wrong name, right!

As time was running short on them Maya concentrated on her search for information. An apology would have to wait for later. For now she wanted to search for any details on the security of the building. However, she wanted to see if she could find anything on the other captives in the compound as well. After all, the 'Good Doctor' Jiāng was experimenting with mutants there. Who knew what he could have done to those poor souls after Erik and Charles had managed to escape. Some of them could very well have been brain washed to act as guard dogs. And with the possibility of having their powers enhanced too! They couldn't be too careful.

Unfortunately Carolina was unable to find anything on the other captives. Only a layout of the security cameras and the location of the security room. "This will have to do, I guess." She muttered. "We don't have any more time to search anyways." Sighing she approached Ellie. "Em... Ellie, right. Sorry for before. I was thinking of someone I know and ended up calling you that. Lo siento." Although Caro was fluent in English, her Spanish accent was especially pronounced in her Ss. Apology done in the usual curt Jefa style, Carolina turned to look at Erik, who was hurriedly stashing away a page from the file she'd handed him. What was that about?! Maya thought, but said nothing. Simply filed it away for later analysis. "I found a layout of the building and some information on their security measures. I don't think we can find anything more for the time we have left. We should leave while we can, no?"

Ellie raised an eyebrow, looking over at Erik. She had heard the sound of ripping and at first, she figured he was going to participate in her chaotic mess. But he only destroyed the one paper. "Pourquoi est-ce que tu as fait ça?" she asked him simply, sticking to French now for the added benefit of keeping his answer relatively secret. She didn't trust the people they were with, especially since she was relatively certain McTaggert was a human and not a mutant. Mutants wouldn't be able to peacefully co exist. Each time she closed her eyes, she could still see the flames.

Ellie heard that they were low on time and she started grabbing papers at random. She didn't want to admit it to anyone, but she actually didn't know how to read English beyond the basics like - stop, street, crosswalk, phone, bathrooms and stuff like that. She had been raised reading French. She grabbed a few documents at random, figuring it was really the best she could do, and she pocketed them. Glancing over at the Spanish girl, Ellie rolled her eyes. "Come on Erik, let's go mon ami."

Mythri Naidu

Location: Xavier's Mansion

Mythri would not apologize. She was right, even if she was a bit out of line. If they were going to start training to fight some facility, then there was no use babying anyone. Herself included. They needed to be aware of every possible scenario. If what Mythri believed was true, they could end up targeting friends and family. Hell, they could die.

Mythri wanted to die doing something better for the world. Perhaps this was her opportunity. She stood up as the others did and followed Charles. She was still unsure of the man, but for now she would listen to what he had to say, especially since he seemed to at least understand her worries and concerns.

If Miranda could be satiated with whatever was in the basement, perhaps they could get some work done.

Miranda Fay

Miranda fell silent as they reached the basement area. It was actually surprisingly big, not to mention clean and had hardly anything inside of it. "So, what's this got to do with anything... I mean she pointed out that she had been joking, how exactly does this come to a sort of better way to go about this?" she asked as she looked over at Charles as he just flipped the lights on, showing just how massive the area was.

"It is rather simple actually, and you did say you wanted to do something, and this way, there isn't a risk for someone to get injured in the process. Miranda, I am going to give you a mental image of a building, somewhat small, but likely to be similar to the one that you all will likely enter, and using your holographic abilities, I would like you to recreate it in this room. Can you do that for me?" he asked, looking over at her. Miranda nodded in response, wondering just what exactly he was getting at.

The image he sent her was very detailed, way better than a photograph, as he was able to show her different hallways and such. He also showed her potential threats and dangers that could be in the room, and she understood what he was getting at. She was basically running some sort of simulation for the other two, though she was also allowed to fight and such like that, and the simulation wouldn't be able to hurt them. Miranda took a deep breath before she waved her hands, and the walls and empty space of the basement disappeared, replaced with a hallway that forked off to the left or right, there was also a few doors scattered along the hallway as well. "Your job is to get back to the staircase leading upstairs, which will be a lot harder than you think," Charles said with a slight smirk.

Erik and Ellie

"It isn't anything important Ellie, do not worry," he responded in English, before he nodded along with her suggestion of getting out of there. "We probably have over stayed our welcome here, that is for sure, come along," he said before he went straight out the door, gathering the files and such that they had grabbed along the way, making sure they weren't missing anything.

Ellie raised an eyebrow, hardly convinced by Erik's dismissal. If it was so unimportant, then why destroy the file? She made a mental note to ask Charles about it later - maybe if she promised to try reading an English book, he'd be willing to pry the information out of Erik's mind for her. She let the subject drop for now, flipping off Carolina as they left. The woman rubbed her the wrong way and the young mutant followed Erik out the door. "Où allons-nous?" Ellie asked, curious if they were going back to the mansion already or not.

He just shook his head as he started heading down the hallway, away from the other two, when he noticed something strange. This time as they made their way down the hallway, he noticed that the cameras seemed to be on, and were watching them. He glanced slightly at Ellie, "We need to hurry," he whispered to her as he picked up the pace of walking down the hallway, they had yet to run into anyone though.

Ellie glanced up at the cameras, pulling a marble from her pocket and speeding it up, but she missed and cursed under her breath. If she could flawlessly shatter things in Charles' home, why would her aim just suddenly be off? Kicking herself, she nodded and walked faster with Erik. He was old enough to be her father - maybe her grandfather even - and she figured that he knew what he was doing in this situation. The torn up file still bothered her, however.

Soon, before they could exit the hallway, the pair of them were met with guards, and a lot of them. There were several of them, and they instantly fired shots at them with guns. Erik let out a bit of a sigh, before he blocked all of the bullets fired their way, stopping them in midair, all except for one that is. He hadn't noticed a group appear behind them, and one of them fired off a shot. Hearing it, he turned and the bullet entered his right arm, causing his focus to break and the bullets he had stopped to drop from the air.

"Connards!" Ellie screamed at the guards. As Erik's focus stopped, Ellie's eyes flashed red as she held her hand out, palm flat, and the next round of bullets came to a stop. "You didn't show us mercy - so I won't show you any, mes amis," Ellie said flatly, her eyes still bright red as she reversed the velocities on the bullets and sent them speeding back towards the guards that had shot of them. Half of them were killed almost instantly. "Erik, ce n'est pas grave?" she asked hopefully.

"I am alright Ellie, do not worry, just a simple gunshot wound, nothing to worry about, it isn't too serious," he said as he grabbed her arm and took off into the air, before landing on the other side of the group who was still standing. He stopped the next round of bullets as he used them to shatter the glass doors and he raced over to their car. "Get in, now Ellie!" he said as he got into the drivers seat and started the car.

Ellie jumped into the car, flipping off the guards before she used her powers to speed the car up. It wasn't going as fast as she wanted it to, but it still was giving them a bit of a head start on any pursuit and made the entire acceleration process a lot quicker. "We should get ya some medical attention, mon ami."

"We have bigger things to worry about right now," he responded as suddenly there were sirens blaring behind him as he weaved the car in and out of traffic. "Looks like we have some company..." he said as he flipped a parked car and it landed in front of the nearest chase car.

Ellie sighed, flipping on the radio before she stood up in her seat. She had a fairly decent sense of balance and she got an idea, looking at the chase cars. Her eyes flashed red as she accelerated the front half of two cars, and then she flexed her mental muscles, manipulating the back halves to a sudden stop and near change in direction. The force caused two of the cars to rip apart and Ellie let out a victory screech. "I win, Erik! I got two, you only got one connard! Hahahaha!"

"It isn't a contest Ellie, we need to lose the rest of them before we head back to the mansion," he said, before he flipped a few other cars into the paths of the police vehicles. "So we might be racing around for a while..."

"Anythin' can be a contest if ya make it one," Ellie argued, using her powers to cause the cars chasing them to speed up backwards. She pouted slightly when they didn't hit anything. "Ya know, someone that was super fast would be so convenient right now...."

"That it would be when you think about it. And nothing should be a contest like this, especially since we are running for our lives at this point, give me a moment..." he said, before he slowed down the car and went down a few side streets, before he pulled into an alleyway and stopped the car, he was waiting to see if they were caught or something.

Ellie turned off the radio, thinking that having it blasting probably wouldn't help. "I think killin' idiots who fired at us without provocation can be a contest," Ellie argued. She sat down in her seat, just waiting to see if anyone would come after them. She had been having a lot of fun, messing with the cars like that. There was something that just felt good about it.

They were hardly stopped for a few moments, before a cop car found them, but this time, he wasn't planning on letting them go. He held up his left hand, before he proceeded to crush the car, shutting the siren off and smashing the radio inside. He didn't let go until the car was in somewhat of a ball, killing the two inside of it. After another few moments, he started up the car and started driving towards the mansion again, not saying anything.

She gave him a smile, watching as the destruction remained in the rearview mirror. This is what the world deserved. This is what humanity wanted to do to them - so why shouldn't they give them a taste of their own medicine? An eye for an eye, after all. "This is progress, mon ami." She gave Erik another smile. Unlike Charles, Ellie was certain that Erik was the real deal - a leader willing to take risks and fight for what was right, not just sit around with a trust fund in a mansion.

"It does not matter Ellie... There is more important things to do... Preferably with the information we just got, hopefully the random files you grabbed have something useful in them, along with the rest that we found already..." he said in response, just driving towards the mansion still.

Miranda, Katalina, and Mythri

Charles just took a step back, waiting to see what the three of them would do in their situation. He knew the ins and outs of the place they were seeing, Miranda slightly did too, but she was more focused on other things. The main one being keeping up the illusion. Her holograms were taking away from her concentration somewhat, but she was still alert and ready, mostly. Looking to the others, she said nothing as she started heading down the hallway slowly, hoping the other two would come up with some better plan.

Katalina looked at Charles as the illusion suddenly formed, which she was quiet surprised to see how amazingly detailed it was, looking at Miranda and smiled towards her. "This looks really amazing." Kat said towards her as she looked down the hallway seeing two ways that they could go, while looking at Mythri as well, then at Miranda, before quickly catching up to Miranda. "So where are we going exactly?" She asked hoping that she knew the way as well.

Mythri had to admit she was impressed by the illusions in front of her. If this was how they could train, without having actual pencils and sharp implements being thrown at her face, she would be happy. She set forward following behind the others. Perhaps she should be in front? In case she needed to shield them? Still, she felt uneasy during this. She shrugged at Katalina. She had no idea how to proceed from here.

"I do know for the most part how to reach the stairs... But there might be a few things in between us, and the stairway... Should warn you, my powers as I said before are not the best for combat... And I'm going to be more focused on keeping the building or whatever is attacking us solid right now..." Miranda said, and right then a door opened down the hallway, and out came several real looking people, with guns, and they instantly opened fire on the group. There were 7 people in all, 2 bullets went to Mythri and Miranda, while 3 were heading straight for Katalina. Miranda managed to avoid one of the bullets, but one hit her in the leg, and even though there was no actual injury, she felt a slight pain in her leg for a second as the other bullet went right through her leg and disappeared.

Katalina nodded slightly as she continued to walk down the hallway until she could hear a door opening, and saw several armed men with guns. They looked very real actually to her as they suddenly opened fire on the three of them, Kat took a deep breath as she used her agility, as soon as it activated she quickly dodged the first two bullets. The second she dodged the second bullet, Kat froze the moment she felt a sharp pain in the center of her chest. Looking down at where she had been shot, the pain was gone rather quickly, while looking over at Miranda and Mythri. "We need to get to cover or something." Kat said calmly, if this was real she'd actually be dead.

Mythri followed as the armed men entered and started shooting. She didn't even think before she tried to summon a shield. She was too late at first, feeling a bullet hit her arm. She felt that pain, but it was quickly diminished. She wondered if that was part of the simulation. Feeling pain at first and then taking it away. She managed to hold up a shield the second time though, holding it as bullets it. "May want to do something about them now then."

"Like what? I'd probably recommend Katalina charging at them, since she's got those reflexes things, maybe try to take the guns away? Or you could see about using force fields to try and get the guns away from them..." Miranda said with a slight shrug, as the men fired another round of bullets at them, this time only 2 to each of them. Miranda managed to dodge one, but felt a sharp pain in her stomach that went away quickly again.

Katalina looked over towards Miranda and then the armed men as they continued to fire at them seeing one hit Miranda once more, biting her bottom lip for a moment and nodded. "I'm on it." She said as Kat got up, using her ability once more and made a beeline straight to the men, managing to snag two of the guns and threw them aside. While feeling several sharp pains go through her again as she was shot at as the pain quickly went away again.

Once she saw Katalina miss the rest of the guns, Mythri took her shield down. She knew it would open her up, but she had to try. She summoned another shield around the remaining guns and pulled. They managed to get some shots off, but she got the rest of the guns and pulled them towards her. She quickly grabbed one of the guns and aimed it at the soldiers. "I don't want to see any of you reach for those guns or any other weapons or I unleash hell back at you."

In response, the men stood down, not going for the weapons. "Well... Looked like that worked, at least somewhat... We should get going," she said, looking at the men before she walked past them, heading down the hallway. Listening as she passed by a few doors, making sure that hopefully they weren't going to come across anyone else right away. She knew where all of the baddies in the place were, but she was acting like she didn't, since in reality if they had to sneak in some place, she probably wouldn't know anything.

Katalina watched as Myrthi managed to yank out the remaining guns out of the armed men's hands which made Kat start to relax somewhat as she nodded towards the two other women. She turned around and started to follow alongside Miranda as they headed down another hallway, she didn't stop to check the doors they probably would lead to deadends anyway as well.

Mythri walked over, still pointing the guns at the men. "If I see any of you follow us I will not hesitate to shoot you. If you were smart, you'd leave and not come back." Mythri then followed the other two girls down the hallway, but she kept looking back in case they were followed.

As Miranda led the way, she stopped for a moment, listening. The other two could hear it too. There were footsteps heading down the hallway, somewhat close by to them. She glanced around, but there weren't any doors near them, or corners that they could hide behind. There wasn't any place for them to really hide. "...Well, this time we should be able to take them by surprise as opposed to the other way around..." she muttered as the footsteps got closer.

"I'll try and catch them by surprise." Katalina said, before quickly using her agility to run forward, she didn't get very far at all before tripping over her own two feet. Which was probably very embarrassing as she landed on her stomach, as she groaned to herself rolling over onto her side as she could hear the footsteps getting closer and faster now.

Mythri still had the gun in her hands as she crept near the both of them. She facepalmed when Kat fell to the ground. She held up the gun to wait for the mysterious footsteps to get near. Worse came to worse, she would use her shield to help Kat and them. Either way, it was better to surprise them, for all they knew (though she seriously doubted it), they could be friendly.

Miranda rolled her eyes, seeing Katalina fall to the ground like that. Well, guess that was one way for them to make it obvious that they were there, and to alert them to their presence. If only things would go their way for once, but clearly not. Miranda edged out of the way of the other two, and this time, the men weren't shooting on them quite yet, giving them at least some sort of opportunity to strike first. Almost as if they had gotten them by surprised, but guess it was to test out different scenarios or whatever.

Feeling quiet embarrassed after falling in front of everyone Kat sighed slightly as she stood up and dusted herself off, round two would work better. "Round two then I guess." Katalina said before running forward again and turned around the corner, and quickly went forward and punched two of he men in the back of the head. When they both opened fire again Kat watched as they missed her, and quickly fell back around the corner.

Mythri followed Kat and, once the girl was safely back behind the corner, Mythri summoned a force field that blocked the oncoming bullets. She then pushed the field forward, knocking into the guys and making them fall to the floor. Satisfied, Mythri swept around the corner as she noticed they were standing back up again. "Quick, someone stop them."

Despite only being half-focused on something, Miranda wanted to feel like she was being more than a guide through this whole thing, since odds were that she wasn't actually going to be able to do that. She raced over to the people, and kicked one in the face before she punched the other, knocking them out. "So, let's get going then shall we?" she then said, "We're almost to the exit..." She started walking down the hallway, though her hand hurt slightly, she wasn't used to punching anything, and that kind of hurt. They luckily didn't run into anymore people, though she knew that in the simulation that she created it could have sent up to 20 people at a time at them, they had lucked out somewhat, but still. Lower numbers gave them more of a chance and taught them how to deal with anything that came in their way. "Here we are," she said, opening a door that was the stairway back to the main floor and she walked up it, the illusion behind them disappeared as she did. Charles was at the top of the staircase, waiting for them.

Katalina turned around to watch as Mythri went in and used her powers against the armed men, seeing them get knocked onto the floor made her smirk slightly seeing it happen. As she started to move forward when Miranda came forward and took out the remaining two people, she gave her a satisfied nod before moving forward. And eventually they made it through a door where Xavier was already standing there waiting for them, Kat turned to look at the other two ladies. "Looks like we did pretty well right?" Katalina asked, even though they were all shot at some point luckily it wasn't really real.

While Mythri wouldn't call what they did "really well", they had managed to find the exit and not sustain major injuries, though that was probably due to the nature of this program. If this were real, they would have bullet wounds in them in need of fixing, perhaps even death. No, they were far from "pretty well". Mythril followed the girls outside and exited. "No, actually. I think we did bad. It could have been worse, sure, but if this were a real scenario, we'd have all been shot and either killed or taken. This just confirmed we need more practice if we even have a smidge of hope in attacking this facility."

Miranda Fay

"...Well, it could have gone a lot worse... Not to mention there might have been slight odds that we'd end up fighting 20 people at once in that simulation. We did do better there towards the end... It was when we were more of taken by surprise that we had problems..." Miranda pointed out, nodding with what the other two had said. Mythri definitely was right, they needed to practice more if they even wanted to have a chance at taking on the facility.

"You didn't do too poorly for your first time in a combat scenario like that, though you likely will need more practice than that, it is true. However, I'm actually somewhat impressed, you did get better the longer you were there. Next time will likely just be preparing for a combat situation, for example creating some adversaries for you to fight if need be." he said, giving them a slight smile. There was the sound of a car pulling up, and next thing they knew, the door opened and Erik walked in. He was holding onto his right arm, which was bleeding slightly as he led Ellie into the area. "Erik? What happened?"

"What does it look like? We got shot at, but don't worry, it was dealt with... What really matters is that we got some information on the facility," he said, before holding up a bunch of papers in his hands. Charles walked over, taking them from him, and Miranda just looked over at Erik, before she walked away for a few moments and returned with a first aid kit, heading over to him. Upon opening it, it had everything you could possibly want or need in any sort of medical emergency, which was likely to prove useful in this instance.

She looked at his coat, "Uh... If you don't mind, you need to take off your coat before I can see about helping you with that injury," she said. He let out a bit of a sigh, before he took his coat off, and luckily he had a shirt on with shorter sleeves, so she could easily get at it. Miranda was about to see about getting the bullet out, when he just moved his hand over the injury and yanked the bullet out that way. Just shrugging, she grabbed the bandages and after a few moments had bandaged up his injuries.

"Thank you for that," he said simply, giving her a bit of a smile before he went back over to Charles, who was flipping through the papers that they had brought with them.

"This is actually quite helpful. We have an entire layout for the facility now... Not to mention at least a rough estimation for how much resistance we can expect there... This is actually immensely helpful, nice job you two," Charles said, looking over at Ellie. "Now we can see about creating an actual plan to go to the facility itself.
