Welcome to Skyveil, the most populated city in all of the known world. It is home to the most intelligent and highly trained magic users, the bravest and strongest warriors, and the most cunning and stealthy rogues to have ever sought a name for themselves. They all are in fact, rulers of the same land.

The city has divided itself over time, due to the uncontrollable social and strategic habits of these different cultures, into thirds that live practically autonomous from one another. The mystics, magicians, warlocks and witch-folk have taken to the large, sky-tearing pointed towers the spin a web of shadows over the city with their connecting bridges and large parapets. The fortress of a town houses every knight, soldier, and fighter-born soul within it's tall castle walls. And hidden away, in the true fashion of stealth, there is a vast labyrinth of catacombs that houses the bandits, thugs, and thief-kin who move about in the cavernous underbelly that supports the city in secret.

Only one is appointed a figurehead of each of these factions and is given a power-wielding crown to be their largest symbol of authority. These helms are definitive ornaments of their respective makers. The finest cut and energy-potent crystal wreath belongs to the Archmage. The Ancient and Indestructible Helm of Heroes belongs to the Warrior-King. The most expensive and rare headdress of great gold belongs to none other than the thief-lord. They are there to hopefully ensure a balance between the adjacently interactive factions and cultivate the prosperity of the greatest, from the greatest, for the greatest.

Now where will YOU belong? Will you become the next in line for whatever power you may seek? Will you shatter the society Skyveil is built on for it? Will you die trying?

It seems very interesting. I would like to know more about the kind of races that live in Skyveil.

Fairly interested. I like the world idea but I was wondering if you had anything in regards to the direction it's going to go. Should we all be from the same city? Are there non-human races? Are we all going to meet eachother or are we going to sort of do our own things?

Oh boy!
I am going to start from the top with your questions. When it comes to the race of your character, This fantastical world will be home to humans and half-human/half-animal hybrids of any species! It is hard do apply the dramatic differences of conventional D&D races in a game that doesn't hang on statistics. This will also allow a wide variety of benefits given by unique animal attributes or the versatility of the human's ever-encompassing fit into anything.

These factions are going to interact and generate your characters' motives and actions towards one another, either for or against the environment as well as players. I don't want to say too much!

You can be from anywhere you like! I encourage you to create a character's history that fleshes out the world around the perimeter of Skyveil. The only thing fate will force is that you are in this city for it's episodic origin. Whether coming to, born in, or trying to escape is not up to fate! That decision is yours.

As I construct the OOC I will regale you with a delightful summary of Skyveil's history.

I am most definitely interested.

I have one question (which I'm sure might crop up later anyways): would there be crossovers (in terms of skill) between the three factions. For example, could there be someone serving the Thief-Lord who has very basic magic?
