@evanist

The big golem just shrugged, even though he was out of sight, and the cat thing called back one last thing "Heh, well then, I hope you find something 'else' tall enough to see over the trees, you actually stand a 'chance' of seeing 'somewhere to looking! heeeheheh. HSSH! HEY!" "dont. Be. Rude." That was before they mentioned drones, but the group was already out of their ear-shot by then anyway...

Something to consider though, was that if they stayed standing still too long while there, some might start to notice vines trying to crawl up their legs...

Otherwise, it'd be roughly a minute later before something started to tick in their ears, something messing with one of the communicators it seemed, tapping at it roughly it seemed, and a sounds of some unknown language inundated with musical sounds not unlike a bass horn, could be heard on the other side of it...

Of course, that was suddenly drowned out by something else... someone from the ship shouting about 'the forest trying to eat the ship'...

Changeling Crew And Some Shadowbolts

@thedman

The creature speaking to Specialist Lee on the bridge appeared quite joyed by him actually responding, even more so by the confirmation he would inform the others that they were not a threat... he could not completely assume that it would perfectly counter the possibility of them being a threat, but even at it's 'least' it was a step towards solidifying a peaceful relation. <You're quite welcome. That queen may not have been near peak, but in a hive the Queen still holds the majority of power, She could certainly have destroyed much within here... I have never seen a weapon that could pierce a queen's armor so easily either, even a weakened one.> Then he did something perhaps quite odd, standing himself back up, and delivering a short bow, then quickly straightened back up and added <and I thank you in-return. Given the arrival we witnessed, it was clear you did not come here on purpose, and it is good to know you're not in a hurry to wage war.>

The other pair finished applying their treatments to the unconscious crewman, and split up then, one of them went to the once they'd cocooned more thoroughly, proceeding to drag it near the unconscious one where it's horn began to glow the same pink as it's eyes, a similar glow manifesting over the heads of it's two 'patients', slowly moving down and stopping near the necks. The other returned to the conscious pair, horn glowing as well, though this one matched it's 'blue', and focused on individual patches of that goo it had applied.

<I will let you recover, but I should leave with the basics about our species... as they say, Knowledge breeds understanding, and understanding a great counter for fear.> There was a very buggy chuckle that followed. <We are called Changelings, We primarily live off of the energy other sapient's produce through emotions, particularly the positive ones... Different hives have different ideas of how best to gather it, and 'some', like this one, tend to starve because of their inferior overly aggressive methods. Your... giant vessel most likely disturbed their hiding place, and they sensed 'you' here as quick sources of food. These also tend to be the hive's with a Queen that exercises tighter control through the hive-link, with a very short temper, and by extension with the least chance to choose a better way... My hive is quite small, with no 'Queen' per se, though I sortof lead it myself... Without the queen, the leftovers of the hive are essentially aimless... We will try to salvage what we can of them, but long-term starvation tends to break things that we can't afford to fix.>

Luna's intervention

@double@hellotraveler@Rune_alchemist@Lugia

Luna too was often vexxed by the pink one, but it was liable she understood more about the reality defying mare than most others did... she was also familiar with the affect that she could have on others, and was quite understanding of the unicorn's predicament, she especially tended to have a most powerful effect on intellectuals... It was no surprise that she had rendered Astral some degree of temporary madness, the pink one exudes madness afterall, and she was very patient with his slow return to reality.

A return that thankfully coincided with their renewed encounter with alien life, and led to finally hearing his opinions and experience thus far, limited as it was, every ounce was invaluable. "Thank you for your input Astral, it is good to know 'anything' ahead of time, and confirmation that they are at the very least, not quick to turn hostile eases my worries considerably." She noted quite easily that while Astral asked about the translation ring again, one of the aliens made a circular motion which... honestly, could have reffered to anything, but since they had specifically looked to Astral first, it was easy to assume they were requesting the circle itself, though this one removed themselves shortly after, assumedly at the behest of the one they'd arrived with. And I do believe casting the circle yourself will work quite well... My attention is already divided in several places to manage this crisis.

Almost on cue-

The bat certainly knew how to sneak, he clearly no amateur and had certain natural advantages as well, not to mention the aliens out there were not likely used to such a creature stalking them... maybe, supposedly, who knows with aliens, right?

Alas, there were also creatures in this world entirely unfamiliar to his place of origin, where such things were, as far as the waking world, extinct, or simply confined to the realms of dreams... something that had also been ordered to guard the place that the strange bat had just trespassed upon.

This one looked like the Batly ponies that the mistress commanded, but it was not one of hers, this was clear, it smelled and 'felt' so different from their presence, dressed strangely, armed with something unusual, and most of all-TRESSPASSING!

It was sudden that the darkness of the castle's entrance lit up, becoming like a twinkling night-sky once more and something vaguely pony shaped 'grew' out of it... This time it elected to use a much more simplistic approach... 'call mommy'... Alas, for such a creature this meant a very different thing than a pony would expect.

That entailed the air being split suddenly by something that could best be called the shriek of the damned, and it's great starry maw shred open once more, revealing the bright whiteness within and casting it forth upon the tresspasser, bathing the area in bright light immediately... It knew of the power mistress' bat minions had, this deserter would not escape before she arrived!

Something that 'may' register, is that if this were all 'fake' as he'd come to think it 'had' to be, then this 'fake' light shouldn't be able to deter the use of his power... It wasn't fake...

Back at the ship, the shriek could easily be heard in the distance, and though this time the shadowy mass wasn't grand enough to be seen from so far, the bright light being emitted in the area certainly was, especially amidst the eclipse's 'mild' lighting, and Luna's attention was immediately drawn that way... "Case in point... I have not been gone five minutes and already another has trespassed in the castle." She released an exasperated sigh at this "'Another' Division, I shall have to see to this one as well."

At that moment, as if to tell the world that 'pinkie pie' was not the only one who could defy reality, the princess seemed to 'step out of herself'... quite literally, a second Nightmarish Luna simply walked out of her mid-turn and took flight towards the castle without another word... a Third actually walked out in the other direction, and carried off the 'bag of dead dragon'. "Mmmm, That should help, now 'I' can focus more here, and my others may focus else-where." She looked back down to Astral while awaiting his casting. "As for your questions, it is undoubtable that Cadence and Shining armor have already been informed, and if not then messages are on the way. A more official correspondence will inevitably follow when my sister and I have time to personally communicate in more detail, and indeed we will all be involved with these interactions. Your colleagues will surely hear of it at 'least', if not of your direct involvement in first contact with alien life, and if you happen to be indisposed in the long-term, there will be no issues." A little smirk followed then "I'm 'sure' you're eager for a long term indisposition to come to pass, hmhm."

One of Luna's... clones, it could be said, carried the bag off into the woods a fair distance... it would likely be a mere matter of time before it began to try reforming on it's own, afterall, it was a fireproof bag, not a magic suppression bag.

"I see you continue to have unusual dreams, but it won't be for much longer." Her voice range through his dream-realm for a moment before the sensation of 'anything' started to disrupt the sleeping state, and her magic began going to work... not that he could really see it of course, being technically dead... but the sensations of returning to a physical existence would steadily fade into reality, and... show him a rather more 'shocked' looking night mare standing over him. "Okay... well... 'This' was not the outcome that we had intended..."

From her own side, Luna had simply cast a similar spell to what she used to forcibly reincarnate her sister's phoenix when it was misbehaving, or had recently traumatized 'another' ignorant subject by making them think they'd murdered the princess's prized pet, and combined with something of an 'ironic metamorphosis' spells... It was a simple thing, she'd done it before, it was a common tool to punish speciest criminals... of course, nobody is perfect, and she did not factor in the element of 'interdimensionally inconsistent biology' nor latent magics of another word, and... well, there were unknown factors, okay?!

She had intended to give him a more equine form to try and fight his equiphobic instincts, but she did not expect 'this' Equine form to be the actual result... and she rather hoped it was 'only' the form...

Trevor then remembered something... the artifact, he didn't feel its power when got to this world... it DID come with him... right? RIGHT? Just after that thought, his own thoughts and dreams were interrupted by a now familiar voice, telling him it won't be much longer... welp, Trevor knew he had to take his punishment someday. He figured he can't keep hiding by being, er, dead... considering a few things, and, soon enough, just like she said, he was awake, again. His eyes had to get used to a few things, and everything was blurry at first, and some of his first words upon reawakening were "Ugh... hey... Luna... you have my backpack, right? Check in it for a hydra-shaped artifact. If... oh sheesh... if I lost it, things could end up getting HORRIBLE..." just after that, he noticed that he didn't have any arms, and, curious about that, he started looking at, well, himself... pink fur... four legs... a purple mane and tail... a MANE, of all things, and not even the cool lion kind... at first, it seemed like he was getting angrier and angrier at her the more he looked at himself, but, instead of shouting, he laughed, oddly enough. "Well, I'm certainly not going to enjoy this, and uh... gotta say, that's a absolutely DEMONIC ironic punishment," his laughter soon faded, and he tried to take a few steps, specifically, towards Luna, who, for some reason, he could just about understand... was the link thing going to really work outside of the realm of dreams? Either way, his first few steps left him stumbling, and then tumbling onto the forest floor, where he could almost SWEAR the grass was trying to grab him, for some reason.

"And... looks like I'm useless, again... ugh... mind giving me walking lessons, of all things? I've never had to use four legs to get around, before..." Trevor admitted as he struggled with getting up for a short while... only to try to walk again, and fail almost as badly as last time. This would probably be about the time that Luna would notice that he, unlike the 'original' version of this particular horse, was lacking a certain symbol on his rear end... thus, making the copy not identical. Trevor then asked another question "Hey... gotta ask, since my eyes are kind of failing me as far as details go... do I have wings, a horn, or neither? I honestly hope I at least have... I dunno... SOMETHING," odd that he would know THAT, of all things, about this place, and stranger, still that he didn't assume he had both, or even mention having both in his question... did he know those who had both were rare, and did he know that the others would have one, the other, or neither of them? If so, how would he know that?

As the group walked away from the golem and the cat, they listened to what was being said, moving rapidly, but also thinking about that pod. There was A LOT of vines on the pod back there… and they seem to be moving. It’s as if the forest itself was alive. Sure... Florans are plants and are alive also, but an entire forest that is alive likes that… Celina gave a slight shiver as she remembered one planet that she explored a bit, with a strange gas that was making her see some… strange things we could say. Lucky she found some plants to counter that effect but still, that whole planet seemed to be.. Alive. She just hoped it was not the case here and that this was simply a area of the planet that was like that. She then kept moving, before her communicator started to do some sounds, with the sound of a bit of a language that was musical. She frown a bit as she looked at the group.

“The heck is this…” she says, confused as the group looked back at her, unsure… but one transmission yelled that the ship was being eaten by the forest. This was bad.. This was really bad. She opens communication right there towards the ship.

“Get the cutting lasers out and try to make sure it doesn’t get to the farms and the lab area! One group get the cryogen system fixed! We can clean the rooms after we deal with this! We need to stop that forest from making us stuck here! We are coming!” She then said as she moved with the group back towards the ship rapidly, going and climbing trees to move and head back to the ship. Celina knew that with her powers she could help break those plants, so she needed to arrive there quickly to buy some time here. And if some other intelligent species were on this planet… She just hoped they would not freak out what was going to happen next

Meanwhile at the ship, avali’s were moving quickly right now, a group of them going and cutting the plants with lasers, trying to stay back and make sure they don’t engulf the ship as a large group of avali in special hasmat like suits went in where the liquid nitrogen leak was and start going to repair it. They needed to get that system up and running quickly. If there is one thing that was for sure and Celina knew about that… it’s that plants don’t like it when it’s too cold, and that is exactly what the group planned to do here. To make the area around the ship too cold, maybe even turn it into a kind of chunk of ice while having the insides being warmer for the avails. They just hoped they could do this quick enough.

The Specialist listened intently to everything the creature told him. The mention of hives seemed to confirm his theory that the creatures had some form of hive-mind. It seemed that they had more autonomy than that of the Zerg- or, perhaps the beings in front of him were all examples of "leader" types, and the rest were mindless drones? He couldn't be sure. He also took note of the fact that they had never seen a weapon as powerful as his rifle, something that helped confirm the idea that the natives were of a lower technological level than the Terrans.

After turning to watch the others work on the injured men for a moment, he turned back to the creature in front of him, listening as it continued to speak to him. From the creature's words, he managed to gain a large amount of useful information, including their species name-Changelings, seemingly another reference to human mythology. The idea of a species that fed off emotions was bizarre to him- how could one feed of emotions? While the idea was foreign to him, he could understand how the differences in harvesting it could lead to conflict. The tribes seemed to be somewhat analogous to human nations, and history showed that overtly aggressive nations didn't tend to last very long. The point about these hives having harsher Queens reminded him of the petty dictatorships that once plagued the poorer regions of Earth. He was also surprised, and excited, to learn that the being he was speaking to happened to be the leader of their hive.

As the being stopped speaking, he took his turn to speak. <Thank you for the information. Since, as you said, knowledge breeds understanding, I suppose I can pass on some information about my people. Our species are called humans, and we originate from the planet Earth, although that is not our only home. We have created means to travel between stars, using ships such as these. This group is comprised of soldiers, the survivors of a failed invasion. After we were confronted by an enemy vessel, we were forced to make a blind jump, which took us to this planet. We do not wish any hostility towards you, or any other inhabitants of this planet. We only seek to repair our vessel and return home.>

What? Where?! When did this... this THING get the opportunity to sneak up on him? Not at all realizing it had formed directly above him, Ashen was already on his hooves and making a mad dash for the inner halls of the castle while galloping as fast as he could to get out of the monster's bright light that spoiled his powers. Wait. Light. It had just occurred to him that one of his tendrils had been carrying his gun, Leifthrasir. Being caught in the light had caused the shadow to dissipate, and so... Before he turned the corner to head deeper in, he hesitated and looked back. That was a one of a kind model that was passed down through generations... however as the figure of what appeared to be her highness Luna closed in on where he once stood... surely, if this was indeed some kind of trick, then he would be a sitting duck if he only had his blade. He had no choice.

Gritting his teeth, the Bat turned back and with the force behind his wings carrying him on his own wind he galloped, leaped high into the air and dove straight for it. Narrowly avoiding the terrifying nebulous beast that discovered him, the gun was snatched up into his maw and quickly flipped around by his tongue so that he could get the tip of it against the trigger, and the barrel pointed toward his foes. Along with that, he knew that it was far too late to escape seeing as how the figure and the beast were nearly on him, and so with practiced motions his wings snapped out and caught the outermost membranous ridges on a form fitting wing-length clamp that attached deadly silver blades that were concealed in slits along the rear length of his coat. Under the beasts light they glimmered.

Ashen took a stance that was taught to him by his self-defense teacher, a classic that all Bat Ponies used back in the war. To anybody else, it simply looked like he was crouching low, with his right wing and it's blade facing his opponents, and his left wing raised behind his back with the blade facing behind him, his hooves placed in a particular way. Perhaps, he thought, if this was Luna, she would recognize it as a reliable defensive stance that allowed a quick and punishing attack by twirling through the air after dashing from stand still. Like an airborne blender. Of course, she may also recognize the outfit he was wearing... it was heavily modified, and did not have a cowl, but still... Ashen was prepared to fight for his life yet again.

~~Ebon Shael & The Wreck of the Eventide~~

@Shoryu@Double

Hmm.

They didn't seem to be saying anything.

That's okay, they were probably just shy! She was quite the important and intimidating figure after all, tee-hee! Any little Ebon that met her would of course, be shy around her! She was beautiful and talented, after all! Hee! Grinning beneath her mask, Shael's eye's lit up as tapped the ends of her fingers together as she decided to take matters into her own hands.

"Hee! This is fine! This one understands shyness! Yes yes, expected in the presence of the Jester, the Presidents most trusted Ebon!" Giggling brightly, her ethereal musical voice as jovial as ever. Spinning in place, she let her arms extend to their full length. Extending one arm behind her head and reaching for her foot she did her best show of 'interpretive dance' by doing a serious of acrobatic and rather complicated looking acrobatics that could only be possibly of someone with similar physiology. She leaped into the air, twisting and flipping before landing, stretching her body in rather funny ways.

Except -

There was an audible cracking noise as she landed.

"Ah..." Shael's body suddenly felt limp, falling to the ground as she slowly waved a hand. Jessiel seemed to float over in a matter of seconds, look down at the Jester, and simply kicked her lightly on the head. "Gah! I'll die! Seriously die!"

"Follow doctors orders next time." He grunted, glancing over to their guests, sighing. "Internal bleeding. Re-fractured your ribs. Probably tore a muscle too." Motioning for their new friends to follow, Jessiel held out his hands and focused on Shael. A few seconds later, she floated off of the ground as Jessiel moved to the medbay. The medical bay would be quite foreign to the ponies. The sleek design of the ship seemed to extend to the interior and equipment as well.

Jessiel sat Shael down on a table.

"Sedation. Can't have you moving around again."

"Tsk, no fun!"

"Do you want to die?" Jessiel growled back.

"Fine fine! This one will sleep and dream of the presidents warm-" She didn't finish the sentence before Jessiel placed a hand on her head, applying a powerful sleeping spell.

"I'll silence you for her." He sighed, before the healing waters of twilight formed in his hand. Moving them up and down her injured body and doing his best to mend the wounds as best he could. Maybe surgery would be needed later, but for now she was in mostly stable condition as long as she didn't do anything else stupid. Glancing over to the Ponies, he waved a hand dismissively, seemingly having dismissed their presence as a curiosity now and nothing more, he left, leaving Astral and Luna alone with Shael. At least he seemed to trust they weren't hostile or had ill intent.

The Unicorn's horn began to glow as he prepared to cast the spell. Even his coat seemed to take on a bit of a different shine. Something about casting advanced enough spells was known to sort of amplify the crystalline nature of a Crystal Pony's mane and coat. Some called this the "Crystal Effect". That effect seemed to be shining through a bit as Astral channeled his magic to conjure another translation circle. This circle would be a bit larger than the first in order for more entities to fit within it. That increase in size likely increased the level of the spell and - by extension - was responsible for producing a brief Crystal Effect over Astral's mane and coat.

He hesitated briefly when the playful visitor seemed to crumple over. Even across planets and worlds, it was fairly easy to recognize when someone was in pain. The unicorn hadn't been present at the castle the entire time, so he knew little about any of the mishaps anyone suffered there. Still, the visitor he spoke to earlier appeared to treat her, so perhaps it wasn't such a serious deal. He started to leave, though, which would have rendered Astral alone with the Princess and the unconscious visitor. That wouldn't do at all. They needed to speak to someone, and not just babysit a sleeping person. And so Astral ended his hesitation and placed the translation circle before the other visitor could get out of range.

"Wait don't leave." he said, his equine neighs and whinnies being partially translated by the circle, "Princess Luna, one of our Royals. Rude to leave her without speaking, yes?" hopefully he simplified the phrasing enough to be understood. Clearly he didn't want the other visitor to leave. It was quite a bit of trouble directing the Princess to this place. And the stress of having to maintaining a larger circle was taking its toll on the unicorn as well. As such, he refused to leave until his efforts produced some kind of results. This was more like the Astral his colleagues back home knew and... loved? Well, maybe "tolerated" was a more accurate word. Either way, this sort of tenacity and downright manipulation was something he gained a lot of infamy for back in the Crystal Empire.

"He should understand you, Princess, at least mostly. Like I said, the translation is imperfect. You may want to simplify your word choice as much as possible to ensure an accurate translation..." he said, breathing slightly heavier due to exerting his power to maintain the circle. He could hold it for a time, but he would certainly run out of energy sooner or later if they dawdled for too long.

... Is sitting out for a bit to travel.

@evanist

The forest 'consuming' the ship was primarily comprised or streams of vines spreading over the ship, seeking any hole or grip they could find to pull at or dig into, it wasn't hard at all to heavily engulf the ship with the mass producable things... of course, they were also quite fragile, and the cutting lasers easily shredded them in droves.

However, the ship was thoroughly surrounded by forest, if they couldn't maintain a steady cover all around, the vines would inevitably try to move in again from a different angle, rather a relentless thing, even if not particularly 'fast'

...

Less 'easy' to cut through were the roots working their way closer, partially under-ground and much thicker and more substantial than the vines, they were also ripe with magical energy and tended to regenerate visibly when sliced.

Perhaps more relevant still, was the presence of sickly green eyes hiding around within the clearing's edge, coupled with the stink of rot that spread on the wind with ease.

Changeling Crew And Some Shadowbolts

@thedman

The changeling cocked his head sharply at nearly the first piece of information that the Specialist provided <Whu... Humans?!... Isn't that fancy? There's some 'very' old nigh discredited myths involving that word, heheh. Being real is going to blow some minds.> He did another of those buzzy chuckles as he glanced out the shattered window for a moment, it could only 'barely' be seen with the dimmed lighting of the Eclipse, but he was glancing at the minimal twinkle of brighter stars. <The stars though... hooph, quite a thing...>

He paused then to wander his eyes up to the ceiling and tap a claw against his chin a little, clearly thinking deeper on something... <If you're that big a deal though, I should warn you about the local authorities. You crashed in a Territory known as Equestria, Ruled primarily by the ponies. They're generally very friendly if you don't threaten them, but they're very easy to turn xenophobic.> He pointed a claw out the window for a moment, though made no indication that Lee should actually move to look <The eclipse out there is their doing, it's a standard sign of crisis and nation-wide notification that their leaders are addressing it immediately... you're likely to meet them soon enough.>

He certainly noted that this human had mentioned a 'failed invasion', and quickly addressed the possibility <It's good that you don't intend hostilities though, that on it's own should be enough for them, and I don't wish to influence your view of them over-much when experience is infinitely less biased, but I can tell you that they are considerably more impressive than your weapon there, and highly protective of their more mortal subjects.> He smiled then and shrugged <That said, I'm sure they'd be willing to help you with repairs however they can, if it's even possible, given the vast difference in technology.>

That smile broadened just slightly <And honestly, if you ever do get to leave again, We'd certainly not mind tagging along... It's rather rough here for my kind, though it's only partly our own fault, it's mostly fate having a giggle and the afformentioned xenophobic reactions... regardless of that though, we could at least 'try' to translate between yourself and the Equestrians... they rather lack this particular mode of bridging language gaps.>

Luna's intervention

@hellotraveler

The 'Nightmare' Arrived rather quickly, drifting in on the wing as she witnessed the bright projection and... a lone strangely dressed bat-pony trying to flee from her guard creature... only to quickly return for the device that it had dropped in the midst of the light.

Once she was in the right position she snapped her wings closed and simply dropped, landing with a hefty 'CHKTHUD!', shamelessly within the light herself and seemingly unphased by it, though it did create the most unusual contrast on her form, as one side lit up brightly to show off the arrays of purples and the blue, and the other less so to demonstrate the sparkly galactic motif of her mane and tail, combined with those glowing eyes.

Of course, the intensity of the light all but ensured there'd be no shadows, likely leaving her lacking such powers as well, but she didn't seem to care as she sauntered slowly towards him "You have some very unfortunate timing little bat. There is far too much trouble going on right now for your intrusion to be taken as a mere coincidence." She kept her casual and calm pace as she kept a close watch on his motions. "What is it that brings you here? Speak quickly, because my patience wears thinner with every interruption that arrives."

@double@Rune_alchemist

This strange being... it made what sounded like some kind of mirthful announcement before starting to... 'dance', or all things... Horrifyingly, this one was reminding her more and more of the Pink one with every action.

...

Then there was an ominous crack and it plastered itself against the floor, reminding her what happens when other ponies try to 'be' the pink one and fail... she did her best to with-hold a snicker at the alien's expense, it would have been horribly rude!

It was not long before the other alien appeared and... kicked it?! Heavens, that was rude, or was it just part of their dynamic? One could not safely assume without any insight, and for the moment it seemed something ore important came up... The other one was beckoning them to follow... into the ship...

Horrible betrayal possibilities aside, she was certain she could handle it if a 'threat' came of this, but better yet, they were pretty much inviting her to have a look at the insides of their vessel and see what it was like, something that was easily acceptable as a sign of... at least tolerance, if not trust. She followed along with a steady pace, easily making the assumption that this second creature was taking her away to be treated for whatever injury she had just incurred on herself.

She paid thorough attention to the inside of the ship of course, though it was more about observing for potential threats than admiring it's aesthetics... that could come later, and once the second stranger had settled it's companion on the table and-She restrained her expression as she watched what she assumed was their own form of magic, though she refrained from more invasive study, incase it would have triggered some nastier reaction, something she assumed wouldn't be an issue with a hopefully recognized spell from Astral to provide some form of translation.

It was admittedly an impressive display, perhaps especially to one who wasn't used to seeing feats of magic on display.

She noted the second one preparing to leave the room, and turned her attention to the unconcious first... Perhaps she could-Only to be interrupted by Astral calling out to the second, and turning to look his way.I am sure they are simply going to retrieve something to treat their friend here." Then she looked to the second alien with a small smile "Though, Would be helpful to gain translation experience."

That thought though, it gave her an interesting idea, and she moved over to settle next to Astral, her own magic seeming to radiate slightly as if trying to ease the strain of what was clearly a considerable drain on him. "Though on that note, I shall see if the unconcious one dreams, If so, I can interact with it, and perhaps, out here, we can co-opt that interaction into refining the translation circle to better handle such alien languages?"

@Rune_alchemist

Speaking of said unconscious alien, Luna was already subtly probing for their dreaming self... it was actually remarkably easy to find, a simple confirmation that they were indeed a dreaming species, though it would generally take additional effort to infiltrate the dreams of a wholly alien species such as this, the proximity eased that process considerably.

Of course, first Luna needed to see what was going on in said dream, though she did nothing to conceal her presence, going in blind was often not the best idea.

@Lugia
[Sorry if this parts a little... eh... Some issues the other day made me lose it and need to rewrite, and the second try is never as good as the first TxT]

Luna stared a bit uncertainly at Trevor's altered form... "Your backpack is being kept by one of my subordinates, you can worry about that later." Then she let out a small snort "And please, a 'demonic' punishment would have involved impaling you, hooking each limb hard enough the joints would tear, then flaying you alive and grafting another creatures flesh in place of your skin... Lucky for you, every demonic 'threat' is sealed behind the gates of tartarus, locked in their own little prison dimension." She glanced off to the side, seemingly noting something that wasn't there, perhaps one of her 'others', but quickly returned her focus to him. "Also, do not pretend you need me to coddle you in your new form, unintentional as this 'specific' one may have been... you are 'perfectly' capable of reaching to check either of those locations yourself."

She shook her head firmly then "And walking on all fours is hardly a challenge, you have 'four' points of support afterall, rather than 'two'. Focus on how to move each leg, and walk. you can worry about the instinctive patterns of smooth locomotion later, or more advanced manuevers, later." She started to wander around him then, patiently examining the different angles... "Luckily, you are not a carbon copy, as the original that you seem to have turned into is a mare, and has her own mark... hopefully, you lack her raw power, less for the idea of posing a threat, and more that you would be likely to kill 'yourself' accidentally with it."

As Celina keep moving, she heard more sound from the radio, hearing what people were saying.
“They just keep moving towards the ship! Captain, we will need your help!” one of the voices then said from the radio. Celina and the group kept moving kept trying to get back to the ship, moving as fast as possible here, not wanting the ship to be invaded by those plants. Soon enough the group arrived as she saw some of the people go and cut some of the plants up before they can get to the ship. Celina moved quickly to one of them.

“Progress report, now!” she then said to the avali, before smelling the smell of rot. She frowns at this.
“We are short on staff! Because of this, we are having issues cutting off the plants!” the person then said. She frown before thinking.
“Keep going! Richard, Zoe, Xavier, help out those people to take care of the plants!” she then said before moving rapidly to go in the ship.. The nitrogen system, they needed to be up quickly here! She moved rapidly towards the living quarters, seeing the window with the avali’s in suits inside try to repair the damage to the system, with some pipers broken. She frowned at this, thinking as one of them moved to her.
“Captain, the we have the basic systems back up, but our pipes are still broken.” The avali then said. Celina looked as some avali’s were repairing the damage as she quickly went to put a suit on.
“Let me in, NOW!” she says as she goes to head in the room as people looked at her enter.

“Stay back!” she then said before concentrating on her powers, actually going and freezing the pipes shut right now with ice, making sure that they will not cause issues here. Soon enough all the leaks were repaired, the ship feeling colder as the metal outside seem to start feel colder, nitrogen flowing around the ship. Thank god that was back up…. But not they needed to activate the system… Celina knew what she just did might be a more temporary fix, but that ice should last for a good while at least. Celina moved out of the room, opening radio.

“All avali’s, head in the ship! I repeat! Retreat in the ship!” she then said as the groups started going back in as to defend inside and cut the vines if they come in. Celina rushed quickly to head to the command room, hoping this would work. She just hoped this will work well for everyone. She didn’t want to lose the ship and certainly not lose more people here. And seriously.. what was causing all this. Certainly not science things unless it’s a mutated forest…. Maybe it’s more link to the kind of energy Celina was sensing in this place. Something she was a bit more attuned to then her crewmembers.

The princess pretty much spelt out that she wasn't going to try to help Trevor too much, and he understood that, even if it meant he'd faceplant a few more times while trying to learn to walk on his own. After getting up, he responded with "I suppose that's fair enough, you're not my mom, and thank goodness for that... and I suppose it would be asking too much if I asked if you could lead me out of this forest, as well, wouldn't it?" without even waiting for a response, he tried moving his front legs in a way that they could potentially feel for a horn or a pair of wings... the results were that he had a horn... but no wings. I guess at least I can still kind of hold things if I figure that out? Ugh... I hate when THAT'S the thing I have to be excited for... Trevor thought as he kept trying his best to walk on all fours, still slipping up, and still walking in a dumb-looking way for a while before finally walking SOMEWHAT normally, and leaving the clearing they were in, with a few final words. "You know... I'm still probably going to give you some flak for this later, but remember this... I'm glad that you stopped me, and I'm glad that you let me live," Trevor then headed to where he THOUGHT north was, only to end up at a familiar-looking ship and castle, except, this time, the dark misty creature was harassing a horse with bat wings... Trevor... decided against trying to help the bat, this time, since he learned his lesson from last time, however, there was now a ship he could try to explore, so... he headed towards there, only to find the only supposed entrance closed.

I don't suppose I could just knock, huh? I mean, these ARE aliens, for all I know knocking could be a foreign concept to them, and they'd think I'm attacking their ship. Trevor thought as he sort of waited... and then he remembered the clearing, and how he understood what the horse was talking about, back there... did she learn English, or had he learned their language? He tried to figure out who learned what for a bit until he remembered the dream, and how Luna supposedly 'left a link' in his mind... perhaps that means he can only communicate with her... or... maybe she left it there to help him communicate in general, at least, until he, himself, learns their language... which seemed inevitable, considering how things were going, unfortunately. Thus... with nothing much else to do, at this point, Trevor simply sat, waited, and thought about what had just happened.

~~Ebon Shael & The Wreck of the Eventide~~

@Shoryu@Double

Stopping, Jessiel turned silently and observed the 'Princess' and Astral silently. He was not authorized to deal with such things. No, that was Shael's entire job. He was merely her advisor and head scientist. Technically, attempting foreign relations unauthorized could land him in quite a bit of trouble, and Jessiel wasn't one to break the rules and laws so readily as Shael was.

"...Unauthorized." He replied simply as the translation would provide. "Jester Shael is." He motioned to the bed and now unconscious Ebon with a slow, fluid motion of his arms. "Injured in wreck ensuring our survival. Would have lost medical had she not. Refused orders to rest in favor of scouting ahead for danger. Will wake soon. Should heal fast. Air is abundant with Planar Energy." He didn't attempt elaborating with the current language barrier, but it could likely be assumed 'Planar Energy' was simply their term for magic. Instead, however, he curiously looked to Luna at the mention of 'peering into her dreams'.

"Dream-Walker?" He tilted his head curiously, studying Luna. "Lost Ebon art. President is only known capable. Curious." He frowned lightly. Implications of this fact was indeed, curious. They seemed to have similar magics, and judging from his own observations from earlier, an entity similar to the legendary Beryllius was also present here. The similarities were humorous, if nothing else.

Meanwhile...

Once Luna peeped into Shael's dreams, she'd likely immediately find the entire atmosphere of the place reminiscent of some sort of festival.

A sprawling, dark twilight lit city spread beneath a sky lit with both a sun in the North, and a Moon in the south painting the entire world in an eerie twilight. Stone buildings taller than anything seen in Equestria stretched towards the heavens and filled the murky sky with light enough to see by. Loud laughter and musical hums could be heard from far below on street level, likely other beings similar to Shael filling the streets. Curiously, lanterns made of paper floated into the heavens. As she looked though, there would be no immediate sign of Shael.

As soon as Luna stepped into her dream fully however, something rather odd happened.

A small box, wrapped up in a bow sitting on a large cobblestone vista overlooking the rest of the city was seemingly somehow jumping around by itself. Attached was a sign that said 'Open me!

The Specialist continued to listen as the changeling spoke. <That is strange, indeed. Some of the creatures we have found here are very similar to our ancient myths. Perhaps our worlds are related in some way?> To him, this was a very interesting fact, and it had startling implications. Perhaps them landing on this planet wasn't a coincidence? I will have to ask about this later.

He continued to listen as the changeling told him of the land they were in. Equestria, a land ruled by ponies. He had originally suspected that the changelings were the dominant species here, but it seemed he was wrong. If the changeling's description of them was correct, then he would try his best to ensure a peaceful first contact. What he said next was unbelievable to him. <They can control the sun and moon? It seems impossible, yet...it makes some sense. It is strange that they rotate around the planet, where in every solar system I've seen, the planets rotate around the sun.>

Judging by what he said after that, it seemed that these rulers were very powerful beings. Fortunately, it did not seem they were interested in hostilities either. <I am sure we can find a way for them to help us with repairs. Even if they do not have the technology, they could provide us with raw materials.>

The offer to accompany them off-world was an interesting one. <I suppose you could accompany us, although I must warn you, the Koprulu Sector is a dangerous place. We are considered fugitives by the local government. Also, I do not know how the rest of the crew would feel about letting aliens on board. The only aliens they know are the Protoss and the Zerg, and neither of them are very friendly. I'd tell you more about them, but that would take a while. I would appreciate it if you helped us with communicating with these Equestrians. I cannot speak for everyone, but personally, I would be honored to have you travel with us.>

Cloak's Crew

@thedman

The battlefield was steadily growing more quiet and still, many of the rabid creatures had faded completely, and most of what hadn't fled to the safety of the less rabid, were wrapping eachother up nicely...

Of course, with the complete lack of communication options, things had grown... awkward between the marines and the strangely dressed natives, which one might note had clearly taken notice of the other creatures and their airship, but also clearly considered the big metal creatures before them a more important thing to focus on.

...

Alas, this communication issue seemed to leave the trio opposite the marines completely uncertain on what to do about it, none of them were particularly experienced in bridging language barriers.

"OI! Ain't this a helluva soit?! Hahah!" That was 'english', or some reasonable facsimile involving a very thick accent.

It wasn't hard to miss the figure walking up the edge of the mountain, clothed head to toe in red they stood out incredibly well against the forestry background, and held a gloved hand above the brim of their hat, clearly looking 'above' the parties that were met on the battlefield. "HOOOO! Nah 'Thas' a 'real' ship! Sad she's ol busted up!" There wasn't a bit of his 'body' visible under all those cloths, but he was clearly armed... with things that would be embarassing to try using against a marines armor...

The Changelings

The changeling chuckled slightly at Lee's shock and shrugged it off <Heheh, I can understand why, even with just telescopes we can see things function a bit differently in some places... Other species doubted it as well once upon a time, before they failed in past conquests. You could say it's not technically their biggest threat either, being quite ancient, they and older queens are also the most militarily experienced minds at 'least' in this hemisphere.>

The a low playful snort sounded and the three of them all let off silly buzzy chuckles before he continued <And... well, heheh, our species is 'technically' fugitives, depending on how you look at it... mainly due to hives and queens like the one you just splattered attacking other races because they're too short sighted to see how that will affect their ability to be well fed. Alas, it tends to take a generation or so for civilians to start being forgiving again... lucky us, the immortals are a bit smarter than that and can ward off xenocidal reactions by the ignorant.>

He straightened himself up then and gave an oddly proper bow [color=green]<and I'm remarkably glad that I encountered one with an open mind first. I'll be quite happy to help with communication... I can't promise the more common one's will trust 'me', but their leaders can probably see how suicidal it'd be for me to lie, and->[color] He paused suddenly, straightening up and seemingly glancing at the wall <Hahah, speaking of others though, it seems some other strange bipedal thing is approaching your friends outside, from the forest, and seems to be speaking their language.>

Luna Butting into everything... and now less

@lugia

Luna chuckled quietly and shook her head "Certainly not!... at least, no sooner than anyone else. There are many strangers loose in the forest, better to keep an eye on everyone 'visiting' at once." She didn't clarify, but that also meant anyone wandering uninvited might be prone to arrest, or more.

Then she shrugged just slightly "And, you will figure it out, it is a natural skill, just don't lose your patience with something so small, you're starting even lower than a foal would, at least they have genetic instinct."

He rather quickly wandered off on his own it seemed... Well, she wasn't here to baby sit him, now that the threat was past, she could return her focus to other things... and it seems that yet another of the newer visitors simply vanished into thin air again, this was getting tedious... they'd have to post permanent guards around the forest's perimeter to watch for future spontaneous arrivals.

With that, this current iteration vanished in a cloud of... 'nighty magic stuff', and flowed through the air to return to her original body, along side the other now obsolete clone.

@Rune_alchemist

Some new Thiccness Butting in

@evanist and technically [@everyone] Who can see the sky XD

It really seemed like quite a horrid situation, the progressing damage was mounting as the vines were joined by thicker roots that had a better chance of forcing their way under armor or bending metal out of the way.

The storm was relentless!

That said though, the plants that had made it inside 'did' slow down as the internal temperature dropped, it didn't stop them so well, and outside it almost seemed like the forest itself was trying to lean in around the ship to swallow it.

At least, until something happened that likely anyone in the forest would be able to witness, the eclipse up in the sky flashes, and the ring of light around almost seemed to fall from the sky, a spiral of fire seemed to pour into the forest with astounding precision, creating a ring of fire incinerated the vines and roots, cutting them cleanly loose and, it seemed, causing the forest itself to lurch away from the crash-site.

The source might not have been particularly clear at first, especially to those who were watching it from afar, nor the cameras or sensors of other ships, but the Avali ship would get a clear view, as the conjured ring of fire spread slowly away from the ship, and 'not' towards it, as if something were controlling it, something else arrived with a wash of heat, some shimmering white quadruped that seemed to be decorated with fire for a mane and tail, and brightly glowing eyes.

It did however seem to be focused on the forest and the fire that pushed it back, fire that stopped after a few seconds more, pulling away to give the forest room to 'relax'.

Mia Reid

It took a moment for Mia to take in her surroundings. The artifact had warped her to an unfamiliar forest, next to the ruins of some kind of castle. Clearly, she was nowhere near Lucky City. She briefly considered exploring the ruins, since they were really the only landmark in sight. If there was something dangerous inside, then she could use the artifact to warp out. She'd just need to figure out how to use it first.

It was then that Mia noticed that the artifact was gone. Just a second ago, it was in her hand, and now it was nowhere to be found. She began searching the area around her, becoming more desperate as time went on. Of course, she found nothing. She knew that she didn't just lose track of it, so where could it have possibly gone?

A flash of light from the sky interrupted her thoughts. Until now, she hadn't noticed the Eclipse in the sky, but she most certainly noticed the ring of fire that it shot towards the ground. After taking note of where it landed, Mia decided that she should probably investigate. She dashed off towards the impact site, weaving her way through the thick vegetation. She was careful to stay low in order to avoid detection. Even if it was just a meteor or something, she likely wasn't the only one who decided to get a closer look.

The crew was trying its best to keep the damage clear, slashing the vines and roots, trying its best to go and get the vines away from the ship. Celina on her side just arrived at the control room, going to head to activate the cryogenic shield before… seeing from the monitor the eclipse outside flash. She looked at it, confused as heck. “What in the…” she says before the fire fell from the sky, suddenly going to burn the vegetation all around the crash site. Celina stayed jaw drop a bit at this, seeing the amount of fire that happen there. She felt the energy all around. That fire certainly was not natural and considering how precise it was and how it was working, she felt like something very strong and powerful did this. Celina made sure to have her weapons with her, just in case… although with the amount of fire that happened, she doubt she would be able to defeat something that could create that if it decided to attack them. She open the intercom to all the crew.

“Crew…. Go repair the ship and the systems….I have to go check what happened.“ she says, looking at the monitor, seeing the shimmering quadruped arriving with a wash of heat. She looked slightly worried as she then went to the exit and went outside, going to go see the creature. She then had a message from her radio.

“Good news captain, the farm area was not touched… and it seem that with your quick repair on the last pipes we will have an slightly easier time to go and take care of the rest of the pipes.” The voice said. Celina gave a soft smile as she respond. She then responded calmly. “Good… good…. Although if things end up going bad.. I want you guys to activate the cryogenic system, even if I am outside… I have to go see what happened and if the… creature ends up hostile, I do not want to have you guys have issues.. It would give you time to try to figure out a way to get out of there possibly.” She then says before going to walk to go see the creature, looking at its mane of fire with glowing eyes. She moved slowly. That much fire that it could have created. A slight shiver could be felt a bit, but Celina stayed calm.

“H.. hello?” she then says towards the creature, a bit unsure. Could it even understand her? That was the question here. If it could not... what way would there be to communicate.

While Trevor didn't notice much while he was busy being an idiot, he did notice something, or, rather, someONE, who decided to run off into the woods. Mia!? What in the world is she doing here? Trevor asked himself as he decided to run off after her, trying his best to keep track of her while calling her name a few times. It never occurred to him that he might need to reintroduce himself, or, at least, he didn't think about that YET. Trevor was still not entirely good at running with his new form, and he would occasionally stumble into the vines and roots as he ran, but, somehow, he managed to keep up with her. Soon enough, he saw where she was heading... some sort of place with a ring of fire around it... that didn't look natural, at all, and it didn't seem to move like fire would through a flammable forest like this, and there seemed to be a ship in the middle of it... oddly enough, Trevor RECOGNIZED the ship, at least, if his video games were to be believed... and if so, it was an avali ship, probably mid to high rank at that, but, since he and Mia finally came to a stop, he finally had time to catch his breath, and say something. "Mia... I'm so glad to see a familiar face in this place, but... how did you get here, anyways?" Trevor really had to know this since he had to use the artifact to get here, himself... and that thing was probably still in his bag, right?

Trevor was about to head in to save what he was SURE were avali from the fire, since, given their feathers, and preference for the cold, they WOULD need saving from it, but, then he noticed that the fire was moving AWAY from their ship... odd... if someone wanted to attack the birds with a ring of fire, then inwards would normally be the way to do it, right? THAT'S when he finally noticed another one of those pony things... another big one, with wings and a horn, but this one had white fur. Trevor hid his distaste for meeting yet ANOTHER one of these so soon after the first one, and finally turned towards Mia, saying "Oh, right... the whole... change... thing. Heheh... sorry about that, you probably have NO idea who I am, right now, do you? I'm Trevor. One of those..." Trevor then gestured towards the horse-like creature, and continued "...turned me into this as punishment for attacking her on sight. In their defense, that was a really DUMB thing to do, but, yeah... this is unfortunately what I look like, now," he then sighed after saying that, and remembering it, himself.

The Specialist, once again, listened as the changeling spoke to him. It seemed that they, too, were considered fugitives- although it was less their fault, and more the fault of their more aggressive cousins. As he continued to listen, the changeling paused, and he was quite surprised by what he said next.

<Really? Let me see...> Suddenly, he stood up, walking over to the window, and looking out. <Yes, I see him...how strange.> He looked back towards the changeling. <Well, I am going to head outside, and rendezvous with our leader outside. You can come with me, and I can see if I can introduce you to him. Otherwise, feel free to return to your ship, if you prefer.> He then began to move towards the door. <Either way, it has been good speaking with you. We will speak again, yes?>

Meanwhile, Carver was considering their next steps. The battle was over by this point, with all of the hostile creatures dead or soon to be dead, and the Marines finally had some time to breathe. He had taken the time to ask for a damage report, and the results were better than he expected. There seemed to be very little damage to the ship, and the crew was shaken, but unharmed. Given that everything seemed to be normal, he ordered the crew to move forward with one of the tasks he had meant to do before everything went to shit- repairing the dropship. If they could get the aircraft in working order, they could send a team to explore the other sites, and possibly make contact with other survivors. Fortunately, they had working SCV's, and a good amount of spare parts, so he expected the repairs to be completed relatively quickly.

As he was talking with a few of the Marines, he heard a voice in the distance, and turned to face it. To his surprise, it was a human- or at least it looked like one from a distance. The figure was covered in some sort of red cloak, which covered any identifying features. But, it sounded like he was speaking English, albeit with a thick accent. As a few of the Marines also turned to face the figure, he stepped forward, walking towards it.

He kept moving forward until he was close enough to make out the figure clearly. He still couldn't see any identifying features, but he did see he was carrying a weapon- and a bizarre one at that. Who the hell carries a musket, in this day and age? I know some of the officers liked antique weapons, but a musket? Sheesh... Odd choice of weapon aside, they still spoke English, unlike everything else they had come across so far. He lowered his visor, a neutral expression on his face.

"Hey, there. Where'd you come from?"

Cloak's Crew and the Changeling

@thedman

The changeling chuckled a little and wandered over to the window as well <Oh aye, we'll certainly speak again, and I just realized I never introduced myself properly... I am Chryssocolla, though Chryss is much easier.> His horn lit up then and calmly dragged the dead queen across the floor, though it was starting to dust up, most of it was still intact enough... enough to-<I should probably use this as a sign for the ponies down there... If they know we helped kill off a queen, it should at least get them to consider staying chill.>

Beyond that he hopped up on to the edge of the broken window, and leaned out to get a look as well <I'm going to deposit this where they can clearly see, and go check in on my ship, I have some survivors to convert to our hive before they rot away in absence of their queen, then I'll return to help with communication, it shouldn't take too long.> Then he glanced back to the still prone crew-man <Also, I could sense your curiosity earlier, he will be okay... His spine was severed, but not destroyed, we can mend bone and nerves fine, it will just take time... and we may need to retry a bit to adapt to your biology, so he will still be out for a while.>
____________________

The tall red clothed man didn't seem to be phased by the bulky armored marines focusing on him, and simply continued a casual pace of approach, spreading his arms after a few more moments to make some showy gestures with his speech "They call me Cloak, er Cap'n, tho ah cant be much a cap'n without a ship, heheh." His arms went wide first, before one curled against his belly as he made a slight 'greeting bow', the other pointing straight up at the sky "And ah come from up thar." Then he straighted up and raised a hand to his... chin... area... "I suspect farth'r up thar than yerselves, in tha gret zea rather than beyond, given ah saw yer ships pear'in outta thin air as we fell tord a rock, tha turned out to be a hidden world, heheh."

A closer view didn't reveal much more about him beneath the clothing, though he was quite tall at barely a foot shorter than the armored suit, the hat's brim covered any view of 'face' from the sergeant's angle of view. otherwise though his body was structured quite tall and slim, and his clothing was clearly fabric and leather... it actually looked fairly fancy, if unnecessarily modified to cover every last inch of his form... visually, the sword and musket looked entirely plain. "Rather glad to see summin speak'n simple 'ere, ah did'n much fancy try'n ta talk to critter's at only know a local lingo."

The new Thiccness

@evanist@lugia@ridlins

There was little sound remaining beyond the ship but the crackling of the ring of fire, the firey reature turning it's gaze hither and thither, seemingly glaring at the forest, the trees almost seeming to lean away from it's glare... For a moment her gaze turned nearly under herself, locking directly on the pair of a 'pony' and a dragon, it wasn't clear to anyone else, but she sensed some of her sisters magic lingering on that one... it clearly wasn't who her eyes were telling her it was, but she had more important business to tend to at the moment.

Her gaze returned to the ship and the fuzzy creature that was coming out of it... she seemed about to drift down to interact, when something else flew up behind her, three streaks of color, they came up so fast there was barely a blink to notice them before they stopped next to her with such force that the back-wind blew the flame of her mane and tail quite wildly... clearly allies, as she stayed thoroughly calm with their presence. They of course were smaller quadrupeds, though their features were hidden behind masks, armor, and flight-suits with lots of purple and black... They seemed to communicate for a few moments before the firey creature visibly relaxed, even from a distance...

In moments the fire faded from her body, leaving the pristine whiteness behind accompanied by the river like flow of neon rainbow mane, and far less 'firey' eyes, before her attention returned to the fluffy thing and she simple folded her wings, dropping out of the air... And upon landing with a Thud that slightly cratered the ground right inside the edge of the fire-ring, causing it to blow away a bit before steadily dispersing it. Now she seemed far less 'threatening' without the fire, but she still carried an aura of power and authority as she approached what she assumed was a representative of these creatures.

"Hello little one, What are your intentions now?" She 'tried' a simple communication, but it was unlikely she would be understood in her own language, which could clearly be recognized as a near orchestral arrangement of vocalization... Though if Trevor was close enough to hear, he might recognize some small bits, not enough to know what she said, but perhaps to pick up that his now 'pony' ears seemed to pick up something that other's might not... though how that might help is a mystery...

Beyond that, she began repeating herself, ever with a pleasant and motherly smile now, clearly testing different languages she knows of, bird like calls, insect like chitters, gruff barking... how this creature could 'make' these sounds was another mystery, but hopefully it clearly got the message across that she was trying to find a language they would recognize.

Fred Hill had been roaming about the forest, for what seemed liked hours. The intense volume and variety of metaphysical power being thrown around, coupled with the hangover-like dizziness, made traversing a dense forest in the middle of the night difficult. Eventually, Fred would come upon a lake, with a land bridge that led to a cottage.

Once arriving at the door, Fred knocked on the door... Well, okay, more like punch the door into tinder.

"Oops..." Fred grumbled. He shrugged, making another attempt at announcing his presence. "DING DONG!" He shouted into the living room. "... DING-DONG....! DING-DONG....!"

Once the owner of the cottage eventually arrived, they would be greeted by the sight of a huge young man. He was about 6'5", whose clothes strained to contain his rippling wrestler's physique. Pale eyes pierced the darkness, as he continued his impression of a doorbell.

Not a moment after she'd found where the ring of fire landed, Mia heard something shuffling through the woods. The sound slowly grew louder. Without a doubt, it was headed towards her. She reached for her bow, ready to pull it out at a moment's notice. She was expecting some kind of beast, but much to her surprise, a pink unicorn emerged. Mia was at a loss for words as it began to speak, and seemed to recognize her from somewhere.

As the pony explained himself, everything became clear... almost. Normally, Mia would be doubtful, but what he said seemed to be the truth. The story he told did sound like something Trevor would do. She let out a long sigh. "Please tell me I won't have to babysit you." There was probably a lot more to this story. Before she could press him for more details, though, there were more important things to deal with. The fiery equine was using extremely powerful magic that should leave anyone completely incapacitated, and now there were raptors coming from the spaceship. There was only one question on her mind. "Trevor, where exactly are we?"
