Bio: Josef's Unholy ability manifested when he was quite young, and while he should have been purged, the village he grew up in was occupied by the growing revolutionary army. The commander saw the young man purifying water for his family using nothing more than mud and salt. Whispers of witchcraft abound throughout the little village but the commander was a shrewd conniving man. He threatened young and brilliant Josef and put him to study, and then to work.

The early days of the Crimea War saw the horrors of chemical and biological warfare, mostly because Josef was set to work manufacturing mustard gas, anthrax spores, and nerve agents on the cheap. He was covered head to toe in leathers and fitted with a horrible bird mask of a plague doctor of the dark ages. He was code named Doctor Death, and has been indirectly linked to the death of hundreds if not thousands of innocent peoples.

Eventually the Queens Armies descended upon the production facility and came face to face with doctor death. An empath recognized the sorrow and despair behind those goggles. She spared him, bringing him before the queen in chains. She offered him the deal, to protect and to serve. He only asked for one thing in return. His mask... so that all who see him know what horrors he had unleashed. He deserves nothing less that a life alone and shamed.

But that is not for him to decide...

Ability: Alchemy

Description: Josef has the ability to transmute any matter into something else, regardless of the components or chemistry involved. He can distill pure water out of rum and gasoline. Make plastic explosives out of a wad of clay, gun powder, and hemp. Disinfectants out of his own blood and orange juice. Sleeping gas out of Milk of Magnesia and charcoal.

Restriction: The components used and mixed have to be slightly related to the effect and require at least two reagents to make into one. An example, would be an incendiary must be made from one component being at least partly flammable. Additionally, in order to make anything, he must be fully knowledgeable of the components, reagents, and result. Trying to make a miracle drug without first studying the disease will fail. Additionally it needs to be properly prepared. Simple concoctions are as easy as tossing them in a vial and mixing. Other more valuable or useful or complex brews require distilling, heating, and generally bulky lab equipment. He has to constantly experiment and research and what mixes work and what doesn't, requiring alot of planning and prep before putting anything into action.

The effect of her touch depends on her intention. The effectiveness is tied to the length of time she touches someone. It can range from healing minor cuts and bruises, curing a mild cold to fixing broken bones and curing life threatening diseases. Of course it also works the other way around.

There is however a side to her ability that will always be beyond her control. If she uses too much of her ability it will start to spread. It becomes dangerous at this point. If she is healing someone and it spreads it will begin to draw the life from everything else around her. When she's making someone sick or injuring them it will also spread and Sofia isn't immune to her own ability.

Bio: Born and raised in London, Harvey lived anything but a quiet life. The young man was no stranger to scraping by as he was raised by a fairly poor family. Ever the rambunctious child, he was always getting into scraps. The older he grew, the more it showed he had a penchant for it. It was a no-brainer that a scholarly life wasn't for him. Harvey was straight into a factory as soon as he was old enough but he didn't mind. The family needed the money and it was a lot better than being cooped up in a school all day. Whenever he wasn't working, Harvey was down at the boxing club training hard. Working in a factory wasn't exactly anyone's dream. Harvey wanted to have his name all over walls, advertising his next fight and to be the next great fighter.

One day at the factory, a machine broke and a giant gear pinged off, flying straight towards the co-worker next to him. Instinctively, Harvey pushed him out of the way and jutted his arms out. For once, the whole factory went silent. When the man opened his eyes, he was holding the large cog in his hand. The momentum was completely halted. The next time he was at the boxing club, he began to experiment. With these new found powers, Harvey became a bit of a vigilante in the streets of London. With rumours of a man who could send people flying into walls just by poking them, it wasn't long before The Queen's Hand picked him up.

Ability: Impact Manipulation

• Harvey can manipulate forces that he touch, either reducing, shifting or increasing the momentum of the force. This can be anything from projectiles that he's throwing or catching or when he hits something. He can also make large leaps my increasing the force of which he jumps and make hard landings that may otherwise be too harsh for human legs. One of his favorite things to do is use a ball bearing he keeps in a pouch on his person and then flick at people. With enough force, he can "shoot" the ball bearing like a musket.
• Harvey has to be touching a surface he's manipulating. He cannot cause something to fly off without touching it. Also, he has to be very careful with it, as losing control can mean some accidental damage.

Jennies early life was not unusual, in fact it was one that had been lived by hundreds of other children residing in the chaos that is known as London. The middle child of four, Jennie grew up as the only girl amongst boys – with two older brothers and one younger. Her family had moved from Cork, Ireland when she was only of 5 years of age, hoping for a new life, yet naïve to the poor conditions that were as deeply intrenched in London as they were in their homeland. Her father, like many others, was driven to work in one of the many factories. Her mother however, being one who could read, count and play an instrument, was lucky enough to gain a job as a Governess in a grand house in Surrey. This however took her away from her children, whom were essentially left to raise themselves.

Needless to say, Jennies childhood was a chaotic one, where she and her brothers were able to run riot around the city. Despite their poverty, they had clever heads atop their shoulders and would often taken to coming up with schemes to get money or food – whether this be pickpocketing or scamming some rich entrepreneur into taking pity on them.

Jennie discovered her abilities at the relatively young age of nine, when while trying to steal a pair of shoes for her youngest brother, accidentally set off an explosion which saw half the shop in tatters, shoes and lace strewn across the cobbled street, and one very confused shop-keeper. For the subsequent few years, Jennie tried to ignore her abilities, though eventually told her brothers of what she could do. Naturally, this only escalated their money-making schemes further and under the guidance of her oldest brother, they begun a series of increasingly escalating crimes. Their mischief, as unsubtle as it was, soon became well-known around London…as well as the coppers.

One day, at the age of eighteen, Jennie was out playing with her younger brother Brin, who was 12 years old at that time. Without meaning to, they accidentally strayed into an area that they did not know well and got lost. As it got darker and their chances of getting home lessened, they ran into a drunk, a man who Jennie would later say smelled like 'a hundred pig sties combined with all the sewage in London' . Now Jennie was completely unaware of her appearance, yet she was still seen as bonny by many, and it was clear that this man meant to harm them. In the midst of the struggle and out of sheer panic, Jennie accidentally let off an explosion, the largest she ever had, which subsequently killed both her attacker and her brother.

Too scared and guilty to go home, Jennie ran away. She managed to get far, as far as the equally dull and dingy Birmingham infact, until she was caught by the authorities. Later it turned out to be the Queen's Hand who had sought to find her, her abilties (and crimes) having become well known to them. Like many others, they came to an agreement, that her and her brothers misdemeanours would be forgiven if she worked for them. As a young, very rough around the edges, and relatively new recruit, Jennie has still yet to adapt to life under the Queen's Hand and still often retains the bad habit of getting herself into trouble.

Ability:

'Having a blast' (Explosion manipulation)

Jennie is able to generate and manipulate energy in the form of explosions. These vary in their size and intensity, though presently they are usually quite small and limited in the amount of damage that they would be able to cause (her accidental killing of the drunk was a one time fluke). Since becoming a part of the Queens Hand, she has been learning how to transfer this energy to and subsequently energise objects, in the hope that she will gain more control and precision. This has mostly been confined to a bow and arrow for now.

Restrictions:
- Far from a precise science, she can sometimes generate explosions when she does not intend to (known triggers include strong emotions) or even fail to produce anything at all.
- While she may be able to control the direction and impact of small explosions, larger ones prove more difficult and although she can’t be hurt by them, she has on more than one occasion been knocked to the ground or thrown across a room by their sheer force.
- She cannot produce explosions continuously, with each one draining her of energy, eventually requiring time for her to ‘recharge.’

Born out of wedlock, Felix and his five siblings were raised by his Spanish mother in Barcelona. Their mother worked as a prostitute, often bringing her clients to their small home in El Raval. Felix was the youngest of the six, leaving him with little responsibilities and duties. While his three older brothers worked in factories or the port and his two sisters cleaned the homes of the upper-class people, Felix was left to wander the city with little to no supervision. By the age of 7, Felix made a bit of coin by pickpocketing tourists that came to his little district. More often than not, he was in trouble with shop owners too for stealing. Some even knew his face well that they would throw things at him to drive little Felix away from their shop.

On his 8th birthday, Felix decided to sneak into one of the spice warehouses in the port to steal a few sacks of spice and sell it when one of the guards caught him. Panicked, Felix tried to pry free from the muscled arms. He kicked and cried with all his might until the man's arms were forced open by some kind of force. The 8-year-old took the opportunity to flee with a single sack of spice. He didn't think of it much after that until a few years later when he was caught pickpocketing an English tourist. He thought he was going to get thrown in jail or get his hands cut off for stealing, but the man asked him where his home was and took him back to his mother. The man, Edgar Kinsley, offered his mother to take him in and offered a large sum of money to her. Her mother, with another child on the way, agreed and said her brief goodbye to her child. She knew Felix would be better off in England with a wealthy man like Mr. Kinsley.

Only 12 years old, Felix made the trip to England with Mr. Kinsley and a translator. Once there he was placed under the care of a family close to the crown. The Hansfords adopted him and took care of him while he was educated in English literature, maths, and science. He was groomed to be the perfect English man. While this was happening, Kinsley explained to him that Felix had been born with a unique ability that needed to be unlocked, controlled, and put to use. With little option, Felix agreed to military training, something Mr. Kinlsey greatly encouraged. Just a few months in, Felix was starting to manipulate objects near him. The first instance was when his combat teacher threw a punch towards him, but Felix stopped the fist from reaching his face. Thunderstruck, Felix began to experiment with more scenarios. Using trial and error, Felix was able to exercise his abilities and let them grow. The resources from Kinsley and the Hansford family allowed him to grow into a capable man and soldier. By 1854, Felix was enrolled in the "UnHoly" Army to fight in the war against the Russians. HIs ability to fight with and without his power shone in the battlefield to his commanding officers. When The Queen's Hand was formed, Felix was one of the first to be put in the Operations Department.

Growing up under such a privilege, Felix was also able to discover other things other than his abilities. While his abilities were known to those around him, he was not seen as an absolute monster by those close to him. It was something that the public knew, as much as they were wary they accepted him. On the other hand, the feelings he discovered for certain people would not be as accepted as his ability to levitate a glass of water.

Bio: Born to a Germanic immigrant from Prussia and a local Englishman, Karl Ainsworth was born and raised in the slums of Birmingham. His father was an honest, god-fearing family man. Working at a blacksmith, producing blades for small swords usually worn by aristocrats. Karl's father managed to carve a comfortable living for him, his wife, Karl and his two older brothers. Much to Karl's parents dismay, instead of studying or working, he joined a gang which operated in Birmingham. Initially he just helped the gang with their criminal activities like bookmaking and extortion however with both his talent in the use of a dagger and his new-found power, soon turn Karl into the gang's go-to guy for muscle. Eventually every crook and hooligan in the streets of Birmingham spoke of The Red Eyed Bastard from the Lads of Birmingham.

One day, upon reaching home he found his parents killed. Their throat slit cleanly with almost surgical precision. For the first time he wept. Yes, he had stabbed people and beaten them black and blue but the calm, but macabre scene of his parent's corpse shook his 23-year-old being. He couldn't really recall much of the next few days. All he knew was that at one point he was discovered and jailed, his brothers missing but presumed dead. With his reputation and their cause of death he was immediately given a death sentence

The day before his execution, a well-dressed man entered his cell with an offer, an offer he can’t refuse.

Ability:

• Dagger User: Karl is extremely proficient in the use of a Randel dagger. Originally his skill with a knife consisted of pure talent and instinct, using a kitchen knives and rudimental switch blades but eventually he self-taught himself the dagger system taught in an old German manual called the “Gründtliche Beschreibung der Kunst des Fechtens” also known as “A Foundational Description of the Art of Fencing: A Thorough Description of the Free, Knightly and Noble Art of Fencing, Showing Various Customary Defenses, Affected and Put Forth with Many Handsome and Useful Drawings” written by the famous german fencer, Joachim Meyer
  
  His own personal style merely incorporate both the John Meyer’s system and the tricks he learned in the streets
• (Power) Overexertion Immunity: This is his actual ability. For a period of time ( one hour at a time ), he is immune to the effects of physical, mental and spiritual overexertion, whether it be body strain, stress, pain or simply getting tired. This allows Karl to push his body, overcome his limits and go further with his abilities without the consequences of doing so, pushing himself physically and mentally further in ways he is not supposed to without getting hurt or tired.
  
  If he is affected by overexertion when he activates his power, their effects vanish but they return once the power ended. So, for example if he is tired and fatigued, once he activate his power he will no longer feel tired and fatigued but once his power ended, he becomes as tired and fatigued as before he activated his power

Bio: Drachen is what some would call a savage despite being well dressed now. He grew up in a village out in the Germaic wilderness living off the land. Hunting, fishing, and farming like his ancestors had before him. During a hunting trip he and his father had been caught off guard by a full grown bear. Lacking the right tools to take on the bear led to the pair getting seriously hurt. But Drachen had changed towards the end into a huge reptilian beast and took down the ursine.

His father kept it hushed up, not wishing for his only son to be persecuted. When the young Drachen got older he moved out to be on his own, trusting in his strange powers to keep him alive. Unfortunately word got around that this strange being was in the wilderness which led to many a hunt for him. He was almost always moving now, shaking off the hunters until he crossed the English Channel. No one knows how he got over without hitching a ride on the boats but he was free of his pursuers.

Drachen was found out once more, but not for changing. It seemed this group was protecting people with powers, recruiting them for a better purpose. Sort of like a private military. Given his wilderness upbringing he hadn't really heard about the war before nor this group. He barely comprehended the English language. But he joined the Queen's Hand as an enforcer. He was of strong build, sturdy stock, and his powers made him an extremely mobile tank.

Ability:
Drachen's ability is fairly simple but also complex. He transforms portions, or his whole body, into that of the mythical dragon. While fully transformed he had immense strength and durability, he's capable of limited flight, animalistic senses, and lastly he can spew jets of acid. A black dragon trait from myths and legends.

Each transformation has a set amount of time he can hold it before reverting to his human self. After reverting he's incredibly tired, almost on the verge of passing out depending on how long he held the form. For a full transformation he can hold it for a full hour (3 posts minus initial transformation post). For partials, such as just his arms or having wings he can hold them for three hours (9 posts).

Bio:
From a young age, Graham loved art. He grew up in a middle-class household, and whatever money he made in his low-paying job as a child was spent on art supplies. He had a natural aptitude for the craft. He tried to go to art classes as he reached his teen years, but he never had enough money for them, as they were quite expensive. When he eventually had enough money to go to one class though, he discovered they were too slow for him.
As he grew to his middle-age years, he often sold his paintings for decent amounts of money, as they were impressive, especially for someone with no formal training in painting. He used his gains to move into a home of his own- a small, pretty undecorated one, but a home of his own nonetheless.
However, as he grew older, reaching his early fifties, he developed a rough case of essential tremors, which severely reduced his ability to draw and paint. He went for years without even being able to paint a picture of a simple flowerpot. Eventually, Graham's only brother grew grimly ill. Graham wished so much to leave him a painting that he would remember even into the afterlife. So he tried once again.
Graham's passion shined through, and the aging man's hand steeled itself, becoming as steady as the day he began indulging in his passion. He drew the lines perfectly, he shaded every piece correctly as he imagined the likeness of the real image. When he finished, the painting itself seemed to come to life- almost as if one could touch the image upon it, and hold it. And that he did. The flowerpot weighed into his hands from the surface of the painting, startling the old man to some degree. He dropped the plant and it shattered on the floor. And he stared for easily half an hour.
Some days later, his brother had passed. But not without seeing the rare, beautiful flower his brother had brought for him to his bedside.

Some more days later, Graham was met by an old friend as he answered the door- he had been telling this friend of what he had seen over the past couple of days. "I want to tell you about an organization you may want to know about", the friend said.



Ability: Living Art

• Description: Mr. Booke has the ability to bring works of art to life. Whether they are his or not, he can tear objects or creatures from paintings and drawings, even if the creatures may not be real, and control them or give them wills of their own.
• Restrictions: This ability is obviously limited by the works of art available to Mr. Booke. The works of art must be photo-realistic, or close to it. Hence, it usually takes significant amounts of time for him to prepare to use this power. Additionally, people may destroy his paintings to stop him from using them. And finally, he is simply a mundane old man, and just as fragile.

Nikolaas was born to Dutch immigrants who had originally settled in the southern Canada, before moving farther into the wilderness to become trappers as a way to make a living. Nikolaas grew up learning how to hunt and trap as a way to survive and his father taught him about all the different kinds of animals that roamed the lands. He lived a fairly normal early life as normal as a hunter could have in the Canadian wilderness facing wild animals.

Nikolaas’ powers manifested when he was nineteen during an expedition deep into the Canadian wilderness with a group of explorers. He had been hired to take them deep into the forest so that they could catalog and study the various types of plants and animals in the area. One day while butchering a fresh grizzly bear for the team, he decided to cook and eat the heart for himself as it was always his favorite part of the bear. The next thing he remembers is that he was waking up in the middle of their camp with blood on his hands and it looked like a bear had rampaged through their camp killing everyone. It didn't take him more than a few days to figure out that he was one of the unholy that the people in town had been talking about. He decided to bury the bodies in the wilderness and reported in town that they had all perished in a wild animal attack which wasn't all that uncommon.

Over the next few years, Nikolaas tested out his abilities in the wilderness of Canada. It was around that time that people started talking about weird creatures appearing in the forest outside of town. The British army was sent into the wilderness because of these stories as any rumors of an unholy was to be taken seriously. This is how Nikolaas ended up in the Government's custody as it took the army several years to catch up with him, but eventually he ended up in a cell in Toronto which was the capital at the time.

In late 1852, Nikolaas was loaded onto a Naval ship bound for London as he was to face the courts in London for his curse. Upon arriving in London, rumors of war were spreading and the British were forming a group of Unholy for the army to utilize if war broke out. Nikolaas was given the choice of the hangman's noose or to join the Unholy Army to repent for the trumped up charges against him back in his homeland. This forced him to serve during the Crimean War as a forward scout and information gatherer using his enhanced senses and ruthless methods to get the information that was needed.

After the war, Nikolaas had served his time for the crimes against him and not wanting to return to Canada he started to look for work around Britain. That was when he was approached by the Queen's Hand and was offered a job to use his abilities for the crown and they would defend him from the public option.

Ability: Lycanthropy
Description:
Nikolaas has the power to imbue himself with the abilities of the animals that he has consumed. He goes through a type of transformation similar to the mythical werewolf where he takes on characteristics of the animals while keeping his human senses somewhat intact. He is able to store the animal's powers indefinitely within himself, but he is only able to use the abilities of mammals and no other type of creature. There doesn't seem to be a sort of time limit on his ability, but the longer he stays out of his human form the more feral his mind becomes until he eventually loses himself to his beast side. The only way for him to revert back to normal at this point is to lose consciousnesses or for something familiar to snap him out of his haze.
