Reborn in a small, remote forest cavern, lacking any knowledge of your geography, you are thrust into the world. While only a newborn, the instinct and basic abilities of your kind are ingrained into you. How to communicate, how to hunt, and what you must do to survive. The memories of your previous life, your previous world, they exist but merely as a hazy dream; at least for now. Unlike the rest of you kind, you possess something special that makes you stand out from the rest. A facet of you soul in the form of abilities retained from your past life. Perhaps an affinity for a rare kind of magic, perhaps a propensity to lead, perhaps the knowledge of a language you don't recall learning? Will this mistake in the cycle of reincarnation lend you the power to break past your limits, or will you simply fall like wild beasts to the onslaught of the world? Well, We'll just have to wait and see.
𝔻𝔸𝕐 𝕆ℕ𝔼 (𝟙)

Rustling feet and anxious growls echoed throughout the cave; word from their scouts, a siege was soon to take place. To the infant goblins though, they merely perceived this as moving blurs and muffled sounds.

As they opened their eyes for the first time, amidst the chaos that was taking place, they were welcomed by the face of one of the elders of their kind. Wrinkles sprinkled her face as she smiled down on the newborns.

"This generation looks strong." She calmingly said with a light smile.

Paying little attention to her surroundings, one by one, she picked each of the younglings. She began dipping her thumb in a paint-like substance and proceeded to christen each one with their names. This is where you were reborn. This is where your would-be legend begins. And sadly, this is where you were abandoned.

A well built and more massive male goblin had rushed towards the cave elder. His voice full and booming, he screamed out. "Granny, leave em'! We gotta go now!"

Effortlessly, he had lugged the elderly goblin atop his shoulder before fleeing the confines of the cave with the rest of his clan in tow.

Now, all that was left were those who were cast aside. How will their story unfold? We'll just have to wait and see.
𝔻𝔸𝕐 𝕋ℍℝ𝔼𝔼 (𝟛)

Nearly two days had passed since the goblin cave had been cleared out, but through some twist of fate, those who were left behind had managed to survive. Fortunately, even with the extremely vulnerable state they were in, none had succumbed to death. Despite not leaving anything behind, their home had provided them with just enough to sustain their rapid growth. Puddles and crevices of murky water quenched their thirst, and the abundance of insects along the cavern walls and floor served substantial enough to at least satiate their hunger.

As the young goblins awoke, they soon took notice on how drastic their bodies had changed. Their growth rates truly were incredible. Most of them were already walking around and exploring the cave further with their new full grown bodies.

Giving into their instincts, a few had left the safety of the cave. The outside was filled with vivid greens and browns immediately. Taking in the fresh air for the first time invigorated them and pushed their bodies to prepare to go hunting. The biggest issue though, was how they were to go about it.

...

Not fueled by hunger or curiosity, Lothar and Rizz were acting on their innate high-spirited demeanor and genuine friendliness. They went from one goblin to another, imparting a word or two before going to the next. Whether they appreciated this or not, it was yet to be seen, but among all of the goblins, Lothar and Rizz had the advantage of knowing most, if not all of them by face or by name.

...

Ren and Usuk found themselves addressing their curiosity as they rummaged through the remains of what was left behind by their former clan. From the pile of broken sticks, scattered rocks, mud-covered round pieces of metal, nothing of immediate use was found. However, there were two items that had piqued their interest. Ren stumbled upon a pair of rusty and bent round-lens glasses. Wearing them neither blurred his vision nor improved it. They were likely made merely as an accessory rather than to be corrective. For Usuk, he had in his hands what seemed to be a rather small, worn out, and tattered patchwork sack. It was barely functional in its current condition, if it was to be used as some sort of container. Fortunately, Usuk had other plans. Ripping through the cloth with his fingers, he created two eye slots before donning it as a mask.

These items did nothing for their bodies, but surprisingly still brought them a certain degree of satisfaction and joy. For a typical goblin, this would be strange, but given their circumstances, it was likely that some of their actions were being influenced by hazy memories of their past lives.

...

Most had began interacting with each other and started to form groups while a few moved independently. Glimmway on the other hand was a different case. She quietly sat right in the middle of everyone. Her movements a bit twitchy, she couldn't decide on what to do and where to go to. I suppose that was the consequence of being overly curious. However, her indecisiveness allowed her to sit back and actually observe her surroundings. She saw some of her brethren communicating and forming groups, while others explored the remnants of what their former tribe used to be. But what caught her attention was the glimpse of light that came not from outside, but farther inside the cave.

Lothar looked around the others as they began to stir. In fact, a few of them were eager to leave the cave, which... Lothar wasn't too sure was the brightest idea. It was clear that they were growing a lot, but who knew what was out there. There was one clear advantage that they had, and it was the numbers. However, even that could present issues. Lothar walked by the goblins, giving short greetings. Until he came across a queer sight. Two goblins looked like they were trying to move the cave as they pulled on a spiky piece of rock that jutted up in the edges of the cave. What were their names... Lothar tried to remember what the Elder called them. "Ah, Oleg and Nic... what are you two doing?" Oleg, a rather strong looking goblin considering that they were all roughly three days old, loudly said "Oleg smart and strong. Wuz about to leave, but Nic had idea. Nic handy. Nic make pointy stick for Oleg. Oleg gonna go hunt with Nic's pointy. We share food." Nic silently nodded, as if he were content with Oleg's explanation.

Lothar nodded as well "That's a good idea. Maybe we should hunt together? If we have a lot of goblins hunting together, then we can catch a bigger animal. I wonder if the others would be interested too... but yea. How about it. You two wanna hunt together? Maybe we can get a big hunting party together and have a feast."

Now Usuk was, well not necessarily and truly but, for the most part complete. Even after being shunted to this hell-hole Quantum Leap style, the creature still had the blood of lucha libre flowing through its veins. Before the being formerly known as Hijo Del Cuco, currently Usuk, was incorrect but now it was closer to what it should be. The mask, or hair for those too cowardly to don the mask, was the luchador themselves. The mask embodies it all, your identity, the path followed, your warrior spirit. The only time to be maskless was when you faded off into the sunset, and this was not yet that time.

So there Usuk was crouching upon a pile of rocks donning the mask. It might have been of poor quality, it might not be a proper mask, but there was an undeniable truth it was his - heaven forbid her as Usuk did not know or notice many difference but he knew damn well his blood pumped with a luchador spirit - mask. With a smug satisfaction Usuk sneered as he began rattling out the words he would always cling to no matter what leap. “Lie, cheat, steal. Lie, cheat, steal. LIE, CHEAT, STEAL!”

The two other goblins nodded and agreed to hunt together. It appeared that everyone else was busy with their own ideas and impulses. Regardless, Lothar waited for the two to finish their job. Before long, all three of them had relatively pointy rocks. Nic appeared to have tried to make a makeshift spear, which Oleg happily took and wielded. However, given how little material that they had to work with... Lothar declined to get one as well. A sharp pointy rock was at least reliable... Nic's crafting ability with the lack of materials was a bit questionable. Thus, with an untested spear, and two pointy rocks, the three goblins headed out of the cave to hunt.

Day Three (3) - Lothar, Oleg, and Nic
@Heyitsjiwon
Goblin Nic has successfully created [Sharpened Stone] x 2 and [Poorly-Crafted Spear] x 1.

With their low-quality equipment in hand and hunger still lingering throughout their body, the triad of Lothar, Oleg, and Nic left the safety of their cave in search of something that could fill up their stomachs. As soon as they reached the outside, their senses were immediately greeted by a slew of stimuli. Warm and bright sunlight, soft grass-filled soil, clean fresh air, and various vibrant colors; it was much different compared to their dim and some lifeless cave. The whole new world that had suddenly appeared in front of the three goblins made them celebrate and shout out in glee, and you couldn't blame them. At this moment, what they said was true, ignorance was bliss.

Soon enough, they'd notice the oddly large Horned Rabbit [Variant] that was idly staring at them. The bland expression it had on made it difficult to say whether it was curious on why the goblins were being so loud or because it was actually being cautious.

OOC: The Horned Rabbit is around over two feet in height and length (without including its horn); a typical one would be just around a foot tall. Also, just making it clear that at this point in the story, anything can kill if dealt with stupidly.

Lothar grunted to get the attention of the other two. He quietly said "Oleg, you're up bud. Me and Nic will quietly and slowly try to surround it from other directions, but you need to get it's attention so that it doesn't realize what's going on. You're good at that right?" Oleg grunted proudly "Oleg know. Oleg smart. You go make fire to sear round rabbit. Oleg hungry." as he walked closer to the large rabbit to challenge it while licking his lips. Lothar didn't know how to respond to what Oleg said... but at least he was doing what Lothar wanted him to, so... it was the small things in life... or so they say. Who were they? Lothar didn't know. It was a random thought that popped into his head for some reason. Regardless, Lothar nodded towards Nic and they both went in opposite directions, hoping to surround the rabbit then attack it from three different sides. Regardless, one thing was certain. They had to attack at the same time and use their numbers to their advantage. Otherwise, the rabbit's long horn could easily skewer a goblin.

Glimmway stared intently at the end of the cave. She was in no particular hurry just yet, and while bugs would soon no longer be a filling meal she figured she could wait a little longer before heading out into the wider world. After all, something interesting had caught her attention.

She stared for a good long while.

Yes, there was definitely something going on there, some sort of light. Glimmway looked around, trying to see if anyone else had noticed.

Some of the other goblins zipped this way and that. There were a few that had already differentiated themselves, while others seemed more content to follow their instincts alone. She wondered, briefly, about what the difference was. A few had gathered together in groups and were out hunting now.

Hmm. Glimmway toddled up from her perch and down towards the light, her pace steady and measured. She was ready to react if she turned a corner and found something nasty ready to jump out, but she wasn't going to let the possibility of such a thing stop her from satisfying her curiosity. She doubted that the tribe that had left them would leave anything particularly dangerous down these passageways... but it would be better to find out now then later on.

Upon the pseudo-ritualistic chanting, Usuk hopped off from the pile of rocks and began to mosey on through the rest of the cave. There was only so much use to be gathered from the past and, frankly, Usuk gathered all they needed to gather. Perhaps a rock might've been handy but it was not necessary as Usuk had a great bravado due to the obtainment of its new mask. What would be necessary was the obtainment of mooks to do Usuk's dirty-work, ie. 'dying for his sake' if it came to that. So Usuk quickly made his way to a cowering goblin that hid in a shadow away from the cave light.

Desperately clutching onto a rock formation there was much sobbing as another goblin was trying to pull them off from it. Usuk narrowed his eyes and bombastically slammed his hands upon the shoulders of Ay, who hanging in the air as Vali attempted to rip him off. Due to this sudden interaction Ay let out a horrified squeak as he instinctively let loose of the formation and went barreling into Vali, as the pair both collapsed on the cave floor. Usuk sneered at them, before letting out a guffaw.

"Boss! Boss! Vali mean to Ay!" groveled Ay who rolled off from Vali and upon his knees began pleading to him. Vali got up and began grumbling, rubbing her greasy hands through her hair. "Ay go get food for Vali. Ay no want. Vali make. Boss look different?" inquired Vali unsure about whether or not the mask was new, considering she also was only about three days old and did not remember Usuk's face underneath the real face of the mask. Ay, still on his knees crawled towards Usuk and began kissing at his feet. "Boss look good. Boss no make Ay go yes? Boss kind boss, strong bo-"

This train of thought was interrupted by Usuk who swatted away the groveling goblin. "Usuk boss." coldly remarked Usuk, who would eventually and hopefully learn the ways of delivering real great promos again. For now he was stuck with this rudimentary knowledge of language.

"Boss Usuk pick mooks. Boos Usuk give words. Mooks obey Boss words. Words are 'Boss Usuk bored, Boss Usuk hunt.' Mooks follow Boss Usuk." with that definitive statement Usuk gave a quick gesture to the pair who proceeded to follow Usuk, Ay more quickly due to not wanting to disappoint the master it knew for approximately a day and a half while Vali followed slower not particularly caring for Usuk's leadership but wanted to order Ay around which meant following Usuk.

Filling her mouth with the unknown insects, Rizz observes intently at her surrounding. The cave, which seems to be triple of her heights, is sprawls with stalactites and stalagmites . Wait, what is “stalactites” and “stalagmites”? Does it mean the sharp rocks that grows at the bottom and above the cave?

Rizz cocks her head to the side, frustrated by the words that seems to come out of nowhere. She was smart enough to tell something was off about words coming out of mind like that, but her primitive knowledge has yet to be able to pick up what was wrong. After all, she was only three days old.

But despite her three days old mind, Rizz had recently showing symptoms of growth spurt. Her chest seems to be more puffer and a little bit bigger than yesterday. Her reach also seems to increase to compare to yesterday, easily touching the tip of one of those “stalagmites.” But with growth spurts, there is a whole new problem being provided. To walk and create voice, Rizz is required to familiar body which such drastic change being undertaken every day. But for those who failed to do so, starvation was waiting for them. Just think about it; a goblin body usually required the adults to provide them with food during their “development stage.”

Another strange word, Rizz scratched her chin, perplexed by the event that is taking place in her mind. And unlike the previous time where there are hints to what the words meant, the term “development” seems to “come out of the blue.” What is “came out of the blue”? Can it be eaten? What does it look like? Is there danger? Those are the questions that came out of Rizz mind as she assisted the new phrase. But unlike the first or second time, where words came and went like gale, Rizz decided to draw what she knows about the phrase down. Three or four deformed versions of the words were jotted down by a small stick she found. But then, a cry, not far from where she was, disrupted her thought.

It was her duty called, Rizz thinks as she collects grubs and insects and put them in her hand. She didn’t know why she wanted to puke on the second days when seeing these things and their disgusting body. Their seemingly endless and elongated limbs were enough to send the bile liquid coming from her mouth. But still, she survives by eating them. There weren’t many choices to survive out here. And being picky is not one of them. But for what reasons she decided to help others, Rizz didn’t know her incentives to do so, helping those that have yet to adapt to their changes. Those that die first usually are unable to feed themselves. Isn’t that the less goblins are, the more faster she is going to grow? But it seems something in her mind told her to go against the nature instinct, that “there is strength in numbers.”

With such ideas in mind, Rizz continuously makes several trips from one place to another, giving some food or some water to other goblins in the cave. Some of them also come and help her, mainly the female ones. Like Vaa over there, who is helping another goblin with to drink some water from her jaded palms. But still, there seems to be fewer than yesterday. Maybe four or five less, Rizz thinks. And where is that female one? The one with bones on her head? Glimm something? She couldn’t move, could she? And she had been staying starving herself for a few days now.

With a frantic look on her face, Rizz begins searching for Glimmway. But she didn’t need to search for long as Rizz sees Glimmway headed further down the cave, the unlit part of the cave. And without thinking twice, Rizz begins to follow her. After all, Glimmway hasn’t consume anything yet. And it is just Rizz way to care for others that urges her to follow the female goblin.

Lothar got back onto his feet. He had to act quickly before Nic got hurt too. Oleg needed to get treatment somehow as well. Perhaps it was good that the Variant Horned Rabbit was focused on Nic as it would allow Lothar to come from its behind. Still, the Rabbit had to know that Lothar was there too. There was no more veil of surprise that they could use since they used up the chance to land two blows. In fact... maybe the rabbit was only pretending to focus on Nic. With that, Lothar held the sharp stone in his right hand, but picked up some dirt with his left. He then quickly ran towards the rabbit. He planned to strike the rabbit in the back of the head and end the fight, but that was assuming that the rabbit didn't notice him. Chances were... the Rabbit knew that Lothar was there and would turn its head to fight him.

If the Rabbit did turn its head to look at him, then Lothar would throw the dirt in his left hand at the Rabbit's eyes and then try to grab the rabbit's horn with his left hand and then use his right to repeatedly stab at the back of the rabbit's head. With the Rabbit's leg injured, it couldn't move or run as quickly. Meaning the biggest threat was it's horn. However, if Lothar held onto the horn, then it would have trouble trying to stab Lothar or move in general.

Most of the other goblins were loud and noisy and confused about what to do. Some had banded together with others out of a desire to improve their odds or had brow beaten others into following them. Some were even going around, helping out those who were a bit less developed by providing them with food and water from the somewhat limited supplies.

Hunger was not new to Gredy; Even as he slept, he dreamed of being something that wasn't a goblin but the hunger remained. That needed to change. Sitting by himself while others did their own things, he had instead focused his efforts on taking a reasonably hand sized rock and using another rock to chip away at it, giving him a edge to stick in something and giving himself a better grip on the non-stabby end. Even has he had done so, other hunting parties had left but he had re-framed from joining them until he had a means of causing damage.

With his makeshift dagger complete, he quietly made his own way towards the entrance of their home. While one could make the argument that there was strength in numbers, the other goblins were rather loud and he wanted to be sneaky; Being loud would alert whatever was nearby and they would either be on their guard or run away before he saw them. He wanted to avoid that, because if hunting the insects in the cave had taught him anything, it was easier if they weren't actively trying to escape or bite you.

Dresh watched as the other goblins milled about the cave. A few of them formed groups and went out to hunt, and some chose to go further in, but most of them seemed to stay in the same chamber, apparently content enough to keep eating bugs. However, he was beginning to find the bugs a bit boring, at least when they were by themselves. While his memories of his past life were still pretty fuzzy, he still remembered most of what he knew about cooking, having practiced it since said lifes childhood. If he played things right, he might be able to carve out a pretty decent life for himself, using his skills to convince the stronger goblins to share their hunt with him in exchange for cooking them.

However, before he could do that, he'd need to prepare a little. And so, having finally come to a proper decision, the young goblin got up and began to wander further into the cave. He got lucky very early on, finding three rocks that had decent angling to them, and could be used well as supports. He ran back to the main cave and put them in the little corner he'd claimed as his sleeping space, before going back again, this time to look for a larger, flatter rock to cook things on. This took a little longer, but again, he managed to find it a lot faster than he'd expected, and brought it back to join his little stash.

Now, it was time to find ingredients! He was a little more excited about the whole thing than he'd initially expected, but then, why wouldn't he be? A whole new world with all new ingredients? Infinite combinations to be made, and to share with his new peers? Did anything more exciting actually exist? It was with this in mind that he began to wander deeper into the caves again, assuming that it might be a little safer of a place to gather some of the smaller ingredients to use.

Of course, unless he could convince any successful hunters to share meat with him, it'd probably be a while before he could do anything really crazy again, but this would still be pretty fun either way.

It was as he was thinking this that he saw not only a couple of the other goblins from his generation standing in a tunnel a little ways from where he'd ended up, but also a nice little patch of mushrooms. From the looks of it, they weren't poisonous either, being a nice dull brown instead of anything vibrant, but he still touched one to his lips just to be sure, remembering one of his colleagues telling him that it was a good way to check back in the restaurant. Satisfied that it didn't cause a tingle, he started to gather the rest of them, humming happily to himself as he worked. However, he kept an eye on the other goblins too, just to make sure they didn't decide he was a thief trying to steal whatever it was they were looking at and try to beat him up.

"Boss?" inquired Ay as he kept his head tilted while the female, at least the only one they knew or suspected of it - after all they were only three days old so how would they know the finer points of goblin sexual dimorphism, Vali continued to drool onto forest floor. Usuk kept a steely position, lowering slightly as if ready to engage in the traditional wrestling test of strength - only to cheat after being bested by the hero of course - while Ay stared off at the bushes for a bit longer. "What that?"

Vali snarled as she whipped her head with such a power she proceeded to collapse down to the ground, "Food." Usuk meanwhile did not respond, instead choosing to inspect his prey. At the very least they would obtain berries if they failed horribly and utterly. The masked creature turned to his mooks and spoke, "It not matter what it is. It in Boss Usuk's way. It die and Boss Usuk eat it."

So as any villainous warrior would do, especially without having any suitable zoologist knowledge, Usuk charged towards the creature to kick sand into its face and proceed to use the opportunity after it to catch the creature in a headlock.

As two goblins continue to venture deeper into the cave, fear begins to rise in Rizz’s mind. It is only natural for her self-preserve nature to kick in right now, seeing how deep she had ventured in. Before her, a sphere about 3 meters in diameter is all her vision. The rocky surfaces feel alien, lack of any signs of previous settlement. The cave itself is like a new environment, lacking the sense of warmth and safety while having in abundance dangers and dreads lurking around the blind spots. The sound of something chittering beneath send chills along her spine. Is she afraid, Rizz wondered at the image of the female goblin before her, who back continues to stride confidently forward, following something that Rizz couldn’t pick up.

Increasing her pace so that the back never left her sight, Rizz instinctively lowering down the sound. Her footsteps carefully placed among the pebbles, afraid of making a sound. The green nostrils flare with minor rise and low, creating these soft and small noise, easily blended to the soft wind coming from the cave entrance. Her forehead, with an eye-catching scar that stretched from her left eyebrow and lost between the hair, dotted with sweat. And although seemingly affected by the constant build up stress and pressure from the environment, Rizz stills show no signs of leaving the goblin before her. Her hands ready for any unexpected situation that may arise.

Suddenly, Glimmway stopped, a wall that connected the ceiling and the ground beneath stretches around her and Rizz. It was a dead end, Rizz realized as she looked at the structure. But how come did Glimmway know this was a dead end? Was she hear before? And if she did, when? Question flies across Rizz’s as approached Glimmway, half-heartedly giving her the grub Rizz held in hand during the journey. She did notice the two rocks that shine at Glimmway’s feet, but something blocked her from taking the white one. Rizz wasn’t brave enough to be the leader. Glimmway was brave and that is what she should get.

“ Let’s go,” Rizz muttered while strolling along the path that they have previously taken. Carrying a hint of troublesome on her face, Rizz constantly looking back, checking to see if Glimm is still able to follow her.

Glimmway picked up the gemstones, running her grubby fingers over their smooth surface. She turned them around in her hands, watching the light catch off the smooth surfaces and glinting off the corners. They were, undoubtedly, the most beautiful things she'd seen in her short life so far.

She promptly stuck the smoother milky stone in her mouth and sucked on it.

It was only after the giggling vanished and her curiousity had been quenched by the strange stones that she noticed the shadow looming beside her. She turned to see Rizz in the dark caverns nearby, already making a hasty exit.

Glimmway scambled over, trying to keep up with her longer stride. Eventually she managed to catch up, just about, though her stubby little legs had to work pretty hard to do so. She tugged on Rizz's hand, pressing the red gem into her palm if able. Glimmway's face lit up in a big closed-mouth grin, her cheek bulging.
