Inspired by Project X Zone

New Enrollments to the Academy are on hold. New Players are welcome to apply to the Waiting List.

Platform City is the majestic capital of the video game universe known as Arcade. It is here where the prestigious leaders of the seven major kingdoms gather and discuss matters of The Balance. The Balance is what keeps the realms from crossing over, but it has been disturbed come late. A virus has breached The System. It is an agent so contagious; so corrupting that The Seven have come to address it as the Mugen Virus; the M-Virus; the Infinite Virus. While heroes cringe at the prospect of the virus warping the entire system, the villains grasp it lecherously. They see it as a higher evolutionary. Finally, vengeance. Taking the kingdoms of Arcade is only a matter of keeping the heroes oblivious to how the virus works and how it can be stopped. The Seven realize that they would need to summon Arcade's mightiest heroes -- old and new. If nothing is done to quarantine and delete the virus, then the realms would converge; realities would warp; and stories would be undone.

.........................................................................................

Note: These are not the only kingdoms in which players can choose characters to play from. This is just a small list of the top gaming companies, and those selected to represent the seven major kingdoms in this game.

.........................................................................................

Platform City is a crossover dimension, and the capital of the video game universe. In Tetris Castle, the rulers of the seven largest kingdoms: Nintendo, Konami, Capcom, Bethesda, Ubisoft, Square Enix, and Blizzard; come together in a summit once a year to discuss the stability of the video game world. Unfortunately, due to an emergency, a meeting was called sooner than intended. An unknown video game virus has infiltrated the universe and has led to the corruption of several worlds. The seven rulers of the seven major kingdoms have summoned the greatest warriors to venture out to these corrupted kingdoms and purge them of the enemy virus dubbed the Mugen Virus.

Players will choose one hero from any video game franchise with the exception of certain Japanese video games. If the anime, film, literature did not originate as a video game, then players are not allowed to choose characters from such games. Other prohibited franchises are Marvel, DC, Disney (to include Star Wars and Kingdom Hearts (due to the Disney characters being in the game)), and Hyperdimension Neptunia.

After players have managed to complete an entire mission with their one character, those players who have remained dedicated and who are still a part of the game will be allowed to unlock a second character option. For now, I am only permitting one character to be selected to control the character traffic and to permit players to have a better chance of acquiring their first choice.

Players are not permitted to play villains. Villains already have a place in this game. If a player goes inactive, then his or her character will be relieved and tossed back into the dibs pool. The story that that character left behind will no longer be significant for the new player that adopts that character will have free reign to play that character as though the character were anew. Reset!

Players are not permitted to bend the gender of the hero character UNLESS the gender was interchangeable in the game. For example, a player can play Link and another can play Linkle. Although they are similar in appearance, they are different characters. A second example is Commander Shepard. In Mass Effect, the player could make Commander Shepard either a male or a female, but there will be only one Commander Shepard. By now, I am sure that you understand.

I know you noticed that there is a lot to read. I have put all of that information in hiders intentionally because besides the opening post, your attention needs to be here. The Free Section is going to be the multiverse location for Alpha Academy. Alpha Academy is where new players to the Project Crossover game universe will go. While you are in the Alpha Academy, you will be learning how to use the game mechanics in a role played tutorship. Veterans from the PXO main game will at times crossover to Alpha Academy and watch your character’s training.

Your goal in Alpha Academy is to learn the basic system and complete a mission with your assigned team. Depending on how well you complete the mission, you will have the opportunity to move over into the main game, which is located in Casual Roleplay. These characters listed below are not only the characters of veteran players, these characters are taken and are to be treated in-game as high-class officers. The writers of these players have been writing in PXO for 1-2 years and so deserve the in-game respect. One day, you too will have the chance to become a veteran of PXO, and you may be asked to return here to mentor the future. Not all characters from the main game are mentioned here because they are currently still on Alpha status and are completing their final mission that will have their ranks change. Thus, those listed below are the current non-Alpha officers.

Again, your character may see these officers show up. As the current players on mission finish, you may see an update in this list. For now, let’s continue.

The Drill Instructor (DI) for the Alpha Academy is going to be The Prince from Prince of Persia. He is one of the Seven Council members in the game. Originally, it was going to be Guile from Street Fighter, another council member. However, currently, he is injured in the main game and will not be able to make it. To help start you all off on choosing a character, I have listed all the characters who are taken in the main game below:

Taken Characters: Mario, Mr. President (Saints Row IV), Cloud Strife, Taric (League of Legends), Captain Piper (Steamworld Heist), Fox McCloud, Banjo & Kazooie, Naija (Aquaria), Slayer (Guilty Gear), Frisk Dreemurr (Undertale), Six (Little Nightmares), Cuphead, Heavy (Team Fortress 2), Bently (Sly Cooper), Akira Kurusu (Persona 5), Azura (Fire Emblem: Fates) and Vent (Megaman ZX).

Reserve a character with the GM, work on a CS, and we’ll start the academy with an in-game orientation. What will help your progression from Alpha Academy to the main game is being able to post over 300 words. The word count experience bonus has been decreased for Alpha Academy, however, when you move over to the main game, the requirements will be raised. The minimum requirement is being able to post 300 words. If you are not capable of doing this, then you will remain in Alpha Academy on Alpha status until you have improved. This academy is not only a fun in-game extension of a multiversal game concept. It is an actual academy for literary development and improvement. Remember, 300 words.

If you are interested, then please apply below and @mention me. This interest check will be the OP for the OOC. So treat it like the OOC. Take your time reading all of this and remember, you WILL have help if you ask for it.

seeing as I have to chars, one goes in each. In the spirit of the upcoming leadership assignment a Coinflip has decided that Constantina is going to fight titans, which will make this a pretty normal mission for her all things considered.

@Saren CrimsonNope. I swear someone in the past tried to bring a character from that series to this game, and those characters are too OP to allow. I'm actually going to add it to the banned games list.

@Holy Soldier Really? Too OP? Since when any character from that series were OP? Hm, maybe I'm missing something here but alright, you're the boss. What about Samus from Metroid?

@Zarkun Then I'll take her, and seeing that we can't really use multiple characters, I'll just reserve only her.

@Holy Soldier I would ask for Doom Slayer since Doom was published by Bethesda but he's probably too OP thanks to his lore. Umm....is Zero from the Mega Man X series taken?

@Saren CrimsonThe fact that the characters are living game consoles is what makes them OP. Easily, Neptune being that she is Sega, could alter the playing field of any game from the Sega Universe. It is just too OP to have game console characters in this game.

@arowne97Now I haven't played any Doom games. I figured it was just a FPS and Doom Slayer is only as strong as his weapons, which doesn't really make him OP. He may be OP in Doom, but probably not when he goes to other game universes. As for Zero, he is available and please be sure to claim all versions of Zero so we don't have more than one walking around.

@Holy Soldier The Doom Slayer, according to the lore, not just gameplay, has fought a Titan, which is a demon the size of a city, and also survived temperatures five times the heat of the sun. So, if you go by lore, he actually is extremely OP. And as for Zero, yeah I'll have to go ahead and do that.

@arowne97Hey, I don't know if you're new to Guild or not, and I guess it's not a big deal here since I did design the Alpha Academy to be an introduction for new players or those who want to improve on their writing. But whenever you make a CS in a game that is labeled as "Apply," you drop the CS in the OOC so it can be reviewed by the GM. Don't ever posting it directly in the Character Thread because you're basically skipping over the GM and in other games, GMs WILL kick you out. But I won't. It's fine where it is now, but FYI for any future submissions.

@Holy SoldierAh. Crap. Sorry. I've been away for a while, and I know some that prefer it to be dropped in the Character section so they can just approve or deny it. >.< I probably shoulda double checked that. Sorry.

@arowne97As far as Zero, I'm just going to say that "Charged Shot" should be a General Ability since it does upgrade to a much larger shot. If you fix that, then he's good to go.

Title: Legend

Kingdom: Nintendo

Written Description: Blue is a 5'10" and 165 lbs, and is much older than he was when he started his journey as a Pokemon Trainer. His hair is brown, but under certain lighting, it will appear a blazing orange. His eye color also ranges from brown to black. His clothes are often minimalist, wearing a simple solid T-shirt with jeans, and often times he'll wear a coat over top. He always has a backpack for storing things and a belt which holds the Pokeballs, which contain all of his Pokemon. His trip through the portal, which brought him to Platform City had caused him to lose all of his Pokemon, and he's hoping to reclaim them on his journey to save Arcade.

Personality: Blue has a playful and competitive personality. Sometimes, he will appear cocky, but he can get overly confident. He gets excited when there's a challenge rather than buckle down. Having fought numerous Pokemon battles as well as the notorious Team Rocket, Blue plays a pretty strategic role on the battlefield. Naturally, he will seek out his opponent's weakness and exploit it with the right plan and the right type of Pokemon. Overall, Blue is a friendly guy and difficult to anger or annoy. He's optimistic, which may be what a team really needs to prevail.

Game: Pokemon RBYGS, FR, LG, HG, SS, Black 2, White 2, Sun, Moon, Ultra Sun, Ultra Moon, Let's Go, Pikachu!, Let's Go, Evee!, Stadium, and Stadium 2.

Current Story: Once upon a time, Blue had worked his way up to become a famed Gym Leader. One day, he received a letter from a turtle in a cloud, requesting his assistance to save the universe. Do you really think he was going to turn it down? A chance to go above and beyond the Pokemon World and become a universal hero? Heck yeah! After accepting the invitation, Blue ran home to pack, taking with him his best Pokemon. Upon being transported to Platform City, he lost some of his monsters along the way, and the one he was left with was reduced to his beginning evolution. It could have been a glitch in The System, but man did it suck! Now Blue is on a journey to not only reclaim his Pokemon, but save the universe!

Weapons: Pokeballs; while not exactly a weapon. The creature inside is one. This is his first type of ball, and he is capable of acquiring more advanced types to catch monsters from other universes.

Basically, just before Squirtle is ready to call it quits! | Moves: Tackle.

Special Abilities

Slot One

Items

  • Pokeballs (∞): The Pokeball can catch fodder monsters. Lesser minions and not greater, mini bosses, or boss monsters.
  • Pokedex: An electronic encyclopedia which logs the information of various monsters. Blue can use his Pokedex to scan enemies to identify their element and weakness.

Strengths

Monster Trainer: Blue's monster training ability extends into other universes, permitting him to catch monsters from other universes and use them in combat.

Monster Variety: Blue will earn a variety of monsters with special attacks and abilities to use at his disposal.

Optimism: When faced with adversity, Blue will do his best to keep the team going with a positive mindset.

Weaknesses

Only Human: He has mortal weaknesses.

Pokemon Reliant: While Blue is capable of physical combat, he can only perform such functions on the level of a normal human. Therefore, he relies heavily on his Pokemon to make him a threat on the battlefield.
