Monsters have always been a part of life. People simply understand, and accept that at any moment a monster could show up in town and start destroying everything. Anything from small little Kobalds and Goblins, to the largest monsters known to mankind known as Leviathans. It's just life in the Kingdom. But people also know that Monster Hunters roam the land, looking for any such creature that threatens the people, for there is surely a bounty on its head, and that is their calling.

You and your friends have decided to form up your own Monster Hunting Guild, and while it's odd to call it a guild with such a small group, it is nonetheless what you have chosen to do. And so now you set out, determined to make a name for yourself, and piles of gold along the way. So what are you waiting for?

________________________________________________________________________________________________

OOC Info:

This is your pretty typical fantasy world. If there's a fantasy race it probably exists here. Humans, Elves, Dwarves, so on and so forth. Some races should be asked about first however, like Dragonkin or Fae.

Technology is most relatable to Steampunk, but it's not entirely so. For example the main type of sea faring vessel is your typical wood and sail ship. But Dwarves are pretty ingenious with their inventions, and are the ones who have created such things as the cannon, the airship, and firearms (Mostly hand-canons and the like, nothing too serious. You probably don't want to rely 100% on a ranged weapon like this as they're very slow to reload)

Magic, while it exists, is not something that is readily available to be learned. Wizards are rare, the sorts to have their own towers and offer different services of the arcane variety. Enchantments for example are sold by the Wizards who choose to do such business, but such a thing is rare, and not cheap by any stretch of the imagination.

Yes, similar to the Monster Hunter series you will be able to gather things from monsters you kill. While most of them will just be vendored off as meat and bone, larger, more important monsters will give you the things you need to create armor and weapons with special properties. A Dragon's scales may be crafted into armor to make you impervious to fire, or the Gills of a Sea Serpent may be enchanted onto a helmet to allow you to breath underwater. But it's nothing too serious. Perhaps some boosts to strength and the like here and there.

This is a stat based RPG, but only for what I would call professions. You are not dealing with attributes like Strength, Agility, and Intellect. Instead you have the following Skills:

Another RPG style mechanic within this RP is currency. Almost everything you do will require some amount of currency. Every day spent not out on a job will cost you money in food and shelter. Going out on a job will cost you money for provisions to take along. Sooner or later you want to think about buying a permanent home so you don't need to spend money at a tavern every night, buy yourself a ship of some sort so you can hunt Sea Monster, or an Airship so you can hunt flying monsters. And all of these things can be upgraded from hunting in a little dingy, to a full sized Galleon or sky fortress. You will even in time, be able to hire other people to your guild.

And the only way to make money is to go out, hunt monsters, and earn the contract gold, as well as selling the things you get on your journey, such as monster parts, herbs, minerals, anything you can imagine. It all adds up after all.

That is where the RPG elements end however. You won't be rolling for attacks, or doing dice rolls for anything, or me saying "You missed that attack because X stat wasn't high enough" or whatever. Everything is just for RP. If your character can't afford to eat, you need to RP them being hungry. If you don't have a health potion to heal your wounds, you need to RP your character being hurt and wounded until they get healed up. It's all for story, not to turn it into an actual RPG.

That all being said

Character Sheets

Name:
Age:
Race:
Class: (Just a class title that best suits what you want them to be, like Berserker, or Archer)
Appearance Description:
Image Reference:
Personality:
BRIEF History:
Skills:

Alchemy - 0
Armor Smithing - 0
Weapon Smithing - 0
Gathering - 0
Skinning - 0
Engineering - 0
Cooking - 0

Please fill out this character sheet exactly. Do not add, or leave out any parts of it, and do not rearrange them either. You start with 5 skill points you can put wherever you want. However, the cap for starting is 2 points, so you can't put any skill higher than 2, even if you have points left to 'spend'.

And lastly...

World Map

Every marker on the map is a town or city. The Imperium is the Capitol City, and is mostly Human Dominant, even if all races live there. This will basically be your 'home' for the RP.

Name: Caimon Sellobuste
Age: 26
Race: Human
Class: Martial Chef

Appearance Description::He’s got blonde hair and tanned dark skin from being outdoors a lot. He’s dressed in a dark color longcoat. His pants and boots are equally neutrally colored. He carried around him a utility belt namely for resource gathering on the field and carrying tools for said purpose.

Image Reference:

Personality: Caimon is pretty easy going and friendly. An adventurer at soul he’s got a sense of wanderlust and curiosity that is satisfied by moving around. While not as skilled as his dad, he too also likes to cook and is up for engaging in it and improving his skill.

BRIEF History: Caimon was born in the Island of Sabril in The Gulf of Swashbucklers which is the second largest island in that area. His father was but a simple fisherman and his mother a retired monster hunter who specialized in sea monsters. Life in The Gulf of Swashbucklers was interesting but as he became more fascinated with his mother's career, he found it constraining. Sure keeping the waterways from monsters was important to the region and naval commerce, but he wanted to fight a more diverse set of monsters beyond the aquatic ones. So he saved some money up and then took a boat inland to Imperium.

Yeah, that's fine. And looks good to me. Aside from the double 'he' at the end of the history. Go ahead and post it in the CS section.

Can I use a giant-ish race(about 4 meters tall) for my character?

Uhm, I think that's like, 13ish feet tall? I'd say probably limit it to a max of 3 meters so like, just under 10 feet tall. 4 is getting to a point where you literally can't use any doors or anything and your character would be left out of just about any RP taking place inside a building.

Name: Argo Hominid

Age: 71

Race: Telluris
A noticably tall race, averaging around 2.8 meters in height. They mostly live around the Grayspires, many of them well known for their use of their traditional bows that exceed the size of the human bows.

Class: Designated Bowman

Appearance Description:
2.73 meters tall, slightly shorter than average of his race. Argo has short dark black hair, blue eyes, and reddish skin. He has well built muscles over his body from his experience as a weaponsmith and practicing archer.

Image Reference:

Personality:
Argo is not much of a good talker. He can talk, yes, but not that greatly. He prefers not to talk a lot, and tends to go silent in moments he have to concentrate greatly. But he's not a complete lone wolf- Argo seeks new friends with curiosity.

BRIEF History:
For the most of his lifetime, Argo spent time working in his family workshop near Shin Kadôl where they built and repaired arsenal of various people-mercenaries, hunters, and rarely the members of the military. He learned the necessary skills as he took part in those jobs. In his free time he practiced wielding the traditional bow of his race. He set off to start his career as a hunter when he saw a one of his kind- he set off with a spark of curiosity, seeking for a target his arrow can hit.
Skills:

Alchemy - 1
Armor Smithing - 1
Weapon Smithing - 2
Gathering - 0
Skinning - 0

Name: Kaze
Age: 27
Race: Dragon-kin
Class: Guardian
Appearance Description:
Kaze's features are rather obvious to those who care to really observe him. Dark, jet black, scales cover most of his body making most armors unnecessary for him. Thick royal purple plates go from the tip of his chin, down his neck and the front of his torso, all the way to the tip of his tail. Perfect for protecting his vitals. His wings are enormous and heavily muscled like the rest of him, allowing him to fly. The great limbs have the same royal purple as his chest plates but they're slightly ragged along the edges. His tail is roughly two and a half times his height in length and a portion of the tip is webbed, allowing him to swing better despite his bulk. His height is far above the average of the human, Kaze stands at exactly eight feet tall.

Image Reference: I own this picture so no one can use it without my permission, thanks.

Personality:
Kaze is an incredibly blunt person, preferring to keep things simple. He has an air of boredom around him, never seemingly in a rush. Unlike a good portion of his species he doesn't strive to be trusted, merely respected for his accomplishments. He's still young and has plenty of time to do as he wishes and he knows this. Kaze does however have a rage streak in him. Certain things will set him off and it's hard to cool him back down, harder still is stopping him from wrecking what it is that pissed him off in the first place. This is normally tied to people he likes and or respects to a higher degree. But for the most part he's a relaxed, gruff, kind of grumpy man. Kids tend to call him an ornery old fart since he seems act two to three times his age.

Brief History:
Kaze's life was rather harsh given his appearance and upbringing. Forced to survive the rough mountains, and later the low lands that were filled with murderous races. At least that's how Kaze saw it. The humans, elves, dwarves, and such didn't trust him. He trusted them even less given the amount of rogues, bandits, and 'adventurers', that had tried to end him. Either for what he had or what he was made of. But despite the hardships he survived while he fiddled about with materials he found. Or examined the arms and armors of those he ended to see if he could make better. He learned the materials they were made from and how to gather such things. Finding them eventually became easier as well given his animalistic senses. To make things easier on himself, and to sell the things he's been making, he has helped/is helping make a guild for Hunting. Or whatever it is these humans say its all about.

Skills:

  • Alchemy - 0
  • Armor Smithing - 2
  • Weapon Smithing - 1
  • Gathering - 2
  • Skinning - 0
  • Engineering - 0
  • Cooking - 0

Can Argo craft arrows from enough materials at his current weapon crafting level(2)? Or does he need higher?

and I can't imagine Scarlet's surprise when she sees two big guys and another guy join her gang

If you want I could my own riff on this but it'll be more tabletop-y cus that's my instinct when you introduce stats and stuff, to tie that down into actual thing.
