Full Name: Níðhöggr
Nicknames/Aliases: Gael, Gale Eden, Striker of Malice
Age: Ancient. The form that Gael prefers to take in the realm of man looks to be roughly six or seven years old.
Gender: Male
Powers:
- While Gael prefers his more human body, his true form is that of a dragon. If he wished, he could revert to this form at will, and carries a few telltale traits of what he truly is in his avatar.
- Can sense the sin carried within a body, and feasts upon the corpses of sinners for energy.
- Difficult to kill permanently. Cannot feel pain.
Description:
In his humanoid form, Gael takes the appearance of a rather beautiful young boy, with large chocolate-brown eyes and soft blond curls that reach his chin. His build is slight and waifish, often swallowed up by pastel-colored coats several sizes too big for him. The demon also displays a remarkable fondness of bows- bows on his coat, bows on his boots, and a large bow tied neatly around his throat. His pockets are often swollen to the brim with candies and sweets, and it is a very rare occasion for the boy to be found without the stem of a lollipop poking from the corner of his mouth.
There are a few...unsettling aspects to him, however. Like the sharpness of his teeth. Or the claws that can protrude from his fingers at his whim, easily parting the flesh in their escape.
His form as the Malice Striker is far more abhorrent. A giant wyrm, with teeth and claws capable of ripping through flesh and bone with ease. Dark scales cover his body, and a pair of wings jut out from his back.
Personality:
On the surface, Gael seems to be a polite, if not a bit overly formal and stiff, young boy. He expresses a genuine fascination with the mortal realm and its inhabitants, and enjoys playing games and learning. However, given what he really is, Gael’s nature is quite malevolent. He experiences little to no emotions, and, while he possesses an understanding of it, his own grasp of morality is shaky at best. This leads him to be incredibly manipulative and cruel at times, especially when striving towards his ambitions. The almost childlike curiosity and fascination he regards the world with only worsens this.
Skills:
- Can wield a knife..
- Has picked up a few tricks in his lifetime.
- Talented at insulting a certain eagle.
Weaknesses:
- His inability to feel pain or the full spectrum of emotions is not necessarily a good thing, as Gael is naturally reckless and aloof as a result.
- While difficult to kill permanently, Gael can be sent back to his domain after suffering enough damage.
- For the most part, Gael is led by his whims, and will occasionally be known to help enemies that he’s taken an interest in. In short, he is very much a wildcard.
- Due to spending most of his life among the roots of Yggdrasil or Niðafjöll, Gael’s grasp of how the world works is flimsy at best. At the moment, he’s spending much of his time wandering about when not searching for criminals and others..
Brief History:
From below the dragon
dark comes forth,
Nithhogg flying
from Nithafjoll;
The bodies of men
on his wings he bears,
The serpent bright:
but now must I sink.
It’s unsure of when and how Níðhöggr was first born- it’s doubtful that the wyrm himself remembers after so long. All that is known about his origins is the countless millennia that he has spent gnawing on the roots of Yggdrasil, quarreling with the eagle sat at the top of the world tree, and feasting on corpses in Náströnd. Upon the Children of Loki’s attempt to start Ragnarok, Gael was able to crawl out into the mortal realm in the form he carries now.
The pause of the End’s progress has taken him by surprise, but it hasn’t bothered Gael too much. In his eyes, Ragnarok will come regardless, and, if the prophecies are true, he will live through the largest feast and then some.
Until that time comes, he is quite content to wait.
Other:
- Has a massive sweet tooth, and will often loot candy from unsuspecting victims.
- Unconsciously craves companionship.
Full Name:
Cordelia Antoinette Gable
Nicknames/Aliases:
Delia, Del
Age:
18
Gender:
Female
Rune/Location
Laguz, located over her heart.
Rune Powers:
- Can heal the sick and injured, making her effective backup.
- Has the ability to sense when someone is sick and injured, being able to tell with remarkable precision what sort of wounds someone has, or how bad a sickness can be. This can result in her noting that someone is catching a cold before they have even realized it. Additionally, she can also sense what someone is feeling emotionally, to an extent.
- Can pass her own energy over to someone else. However, this works against her, as it effectively drains her own at expense of someone else- something that isn’t exactly a good idea, given her role as a healer.
Description:
Cordelia arguably looks as strange as she is. A twiggy, androgynous thing, the fact that she’s a girl is most easily figured out by the copious amounts of pastel she dresses herself in, on top of her distinctly girlish attire. Her hair is blond and wavy, reaching her chin, and her eyes- a bright gold- are by far one of the most notable traits about her (besides her fashion sense, that is). She suffers from a condition called polycoria, where she has two distinct pupils in one eye, though it takes someone looking directly in her eyes to make out. She wears glasses to make up for the slight vision troubles that this condition causes her.
Personality:
Most people who encounter Cordelia would quickly assume her to be perpetually high, and for good reason. An exceptionally airheaded young woman, she has a tendency to speak whatever odd thought crosses her mind, which means that she’ll often babble to whoever will listen (or who won’t listen) about how the sky is like a carpet but not, and how she happened upon a book that smelled like chocolate, if books smelled more like candy and less like ink. She seems to almost amble through life, drifting along on her own personal wavelength as an affable, if not curious, girl.
This does not mean that she’s unintelligent by any means, however. Cordelia is surprisingly intelligent, having a knowledge of anatomy and biology of both humans and what World-Eaters the Blessed have recorded, and a fascination with the realm of science. As such, this does make her a competent healer, if not a more..unorthodox one. Especially given her strange ideas at times.
Skills:
- Due to being raised by a member of the Blessed and kept around the facility, she has a decent amount of knowledge regarding World-Eaters.
- Has a knowledge of anatomy, first-aid, and other things along those lines, though her newfound healing power makes it somewhat redundant.
- Can write poetry quite well.
Weaknesses:
- Cordelia is incredibly ineffective in combat. She can’t wield a knife during a fight to save her life, can’t shoot a gun, and definitely can’t do any hand to hand. Most of her strength comes from her working behind someone who can shoot.
- Despite having an empathy based power, she isn’t traditionally empathetic or nurturing. In fact, her social skills can draw a cringe from whoever she’s talking to at times, due to the things she blabs.
- Her healing isn't infallible.
- Is serene in situations where she definitely shouldn’t be, and has a way of looking at things that could put her into harm’s way.
Brief History:
Cordelia was born the only child to a noteworthy Blessed researcher, working to better understand World-Eaters and how they operated. Her mother had never been in the picture- assumably delivering her to her father as soon as possible. Despite the circumstances surrounding Cordelia’s presence, her father was, surprisingly, a loving one. He doted on her, keeping her with him at work due the fact that there was no one else that could look after her, and raising her as best as possible. Even he slowly, and somewhat mysteriously, began to degrade into practically another person, he pushed for Cordelia to follow in his footsteps and towards the greatness he felt she was destined for.
As Cordelia grew older, she showed no interest in deviating from what her father wished for her. Most of her childhood was spent studying, avidly soaking up knowledge, and she showed her father’s knack for his line of work. It seemed as she was destined to slip into the woodworks and become a suitable replacement for her father.
Until recently, that is. One day, while helping to patch up wounded Blessed in the infirmary, the skin of the man she was working on rapidly healed around the needle she had been using to sew up a wound, creating a somewhat nasty problem- and revealing that Cordelia had been chosen to carry the rune of healing, Laguz.
Other:
- Adores tea and tea parties.
Full Name:
Dawn Ravenna Memoli
Nicknames/Aliases:
N/A
Age:
20
Gender:
Female
Alliance:
The Blessed
Description:
Clocking in at 4’11”, and likely not even touching 90 pounds soaking wet, Dawn doesn’t serve as the most imposing figure. A wisp of a woman, with pale skin and sharp grey eyes, it isn’t particularly difficult for her to slip under some people’s radar and meld into the background. Her hair, black and wavy, is kept cropped to her chin, and her features are soft and open.
She tends to dress practically, in darker colors more often than not, and keeps a gun or two on her person whenever there’s a chance of her needing to run out at a moment’s notice. Beneath her clothes is a myriad of old scars.
Personality:
Dawn could be best described as soft-spoken and pleasant. She’s friendly enough, making an effort to give those she meets with courtesy, and is kind within reason. However, this does not mean that she is a push-over by any means. Not only does she have a somewhat snarky streak, but she has a surprising capacity to do whatever she feels is necessary for the greater good.
Skills:
Is an excellent shot, and is trained in hand-to-hand combat.
Has a knowledge of runes, and utilizes them regularly.
Is intelligent, and often spends her time observing.
Weaknesses:
Dawn is a very petite thing. While this aids her in missions more based upon stealth, this can be a distinct disadvantage in direct combat.
Becomes stressed when she loses control over herself and a situation.
While she can write quickly, if she’s left without a means to write or the time to, that particular skill is rendered useless.
Brief History:
Dawn comes from a family with a particularly infamous name. While the extent of what the Memolis do is only truly known by those involved in their line of business, there have been whispers of smuggling, blackmail. Trades of questionable items and goods, magical and otherwise, and exploits of the situation with the wall and otherwise.
As a result, it came as quite the surprise when the second child of the Memoli head, Dawn, applied for work at the Blessed foundation as soon as the opportunity presented itself. While her own personal records are clean, the training she seems to have had is questionable. Given how dutifully she has worked in the years since she has joined, however, she has certainly earned her keep at least.
