Flaws: Pistols At Dawn— Respect is more precious than gold. Prudence will not ignore any insult, taunt, or challenge, and she’s quick to turn harmless words into deadly violence.
Me Knife’s Sharp! — And just her knife. Prudence isn’t a raving idiot, but she isn’t bright. Hell, she barely qualifies as dim, and that’s only on a good day. She illiterate, bad with numbers, and pretty easy to manipulate.


Might Makes Right [3] - Intimidation. A reputation for violence and an aggressive demeanor help make others susceptible to her whims. Rolls whenever Prudence attempts to strongarm an individual. Successes means she gets what she wants, within reason. Failures typically means she gets what she deserves.
Master Of Arms [1] - Weapon knowledge. A military background has made Prudence better prepared when it comes to fighting with more than small blades. Rolls whenever Prudence picks up a new weapon. Successes knock the -2 Modifier of fighting with unfamiliar weapons down to a -1.
Just A Scratch [4] Toughness. Prudence can take some pretty meaty wallops before her body gives in. Rolls whenever Prudence attempts something that’d end up getting herself hurt. Success means she takes less harm. Doesn’t roll when someone attacks Prudence.
Soldier On [4] Athletics. Prudence doesn’t necessarily treat her body like a temple, but it seems to be carved out of similar materials. Rolls whenever Prudence attempts to use her speed or strength to accomplish something demanding.
Honor Is Dead [3] Sucker punch. The easiest fights to win are the ones where the other bastard doesn’t even know there is one. Rolls whenever Prudence initiates combat against an opponent. Successes deal significant harm.


Prudence deserted the Rigomar Merchant Navy two years ago. It occurred during yet another routine trade run for the Pricer Company, a “family-owned” company that held a monopoly on just about all of the spice that came from the Rigomar Islands. Roberto Pricer, eldest son of Wyland Pricer and heir to the company, happened to be on the ship. He also happened to be a total asshole, and after a heated argument with Prudence over this and that he also happened to be really good at getting stabbed about six or seven times in the chest. Prudence realized her defense of “he had it coming” wouldn’t save her from the firing squad, so she took a dinghy and rowed to the nearest town. From there she stowed away on a ship and ended up in Gullian.

Nearly delirious from dehydration and half-starved, the first door Prudence stumbled through on the docks was the Red Sail Brothel. Madame Fontaine gave her food and water and offered her a place to stay, and like a fool Prudence thought this was some kind of altruism. It was only a few weeks later when Prudence had regained her full strength that the Madame hit her with the bill. Without any money she had no hope of repaying Fontaine , so her debtor proposed another deal. Prudence vehemently disagreed at first, thinking that Fontaine was talking about her becoming a whore, but Fontaine laughed her off. She didn’t need a whore; she needed an enforcer. Fontaine had recognized Prudence’s jacket as being Merchant Navy, and she figured having a professional soldier on her side might give her the leg up on her peers. In return for free room and board, plus a little spending dough, Prudence just did whatever Fontaine ordered her to do. In a way, it was no different than the military. It wasn’t an awful option for it being the only one. Prudence took it.

The last two years have been pretty good for Prudence and Madame Fontaine. Prudence has grown fiercely loyal to the Madame, and Fontaine sees to covering for Prudence when her impulsiveness draws the wrong kind of attention. As well as doing dirty work for Fontaine and extending her influence outside of the Brothel, Prudence regularly assists in security at the Brothel and holds the same protective stance like her boss has towards the other girls. Fontaine might be the one who marks those who would harm her girls, but Prudence is the one who holds them down.

Demeanor: Easily (and often unexplainably) distracted, curios and listening, kind but often somewhat out of place, sharp-minded

Flaws: Lexaja is a medium. The kind that did not chose it and she certainly does not highly like it. It is hard to go by the whispers and talking. It is even harder talking to someone and later finding out they are a ghost. It makes a nice show whenever she tries to hush or get rid of someone and more often than not makes her seem as if she randomly talks to herself.
Furthermore, sometimes hindering her craft, Lexaja has a strong fear of fire, even more so whenever it is uncontrolled.

​Magic required for the alchemy is mostly based on a few potions (poisons) were it is needed: A spell to scare people, one to make them fall asleep, a healing skill. A little magic is always required in making and testing potions, but that can not be used outside her work.

Background:

Lexaja has had a turbulent life. For the earliest parts, up until she was 7 or 8, only her uncle told her that she was living in Montare, a mountain side city, with her father and her insert nasty word here mother. Lexaja only has distant memories of both and can't say how they died - but she is very certain they did.
After that her uncle travelled with her for a while, using her small figure and climbing abilities. He learned her how to pick or break locks, enter peoples houses and bring back money. After a while they reached Vyfleur, a nice and partially wealthy city. Her uncle decided it was a good city for the both of them and they stayed. She still went out to earn money, nothing too big. Hell she was still a child. It was enough to feed her and get her uncle a life where he could go out drinking in the evening. At least while drunk he often talked about the Brothel and how she should try to make it there. It always scared her. Maybe because she had a pretty face. But her uncle would tend to lock her on the grave yard or near the waters were people drowned lately whenever she spoke up - so she learned to keep her mouth shut.

Things turned out better by luck. She entered a small, not too impressive house. She found a little workshop, full of flasks and strange appliances. And full of some things packaged in leather, filled in flasks or carefully put into clay cans. She had no idea what she stumbled into, but it seemed costly. And costly meant it could be sold! She started gathering things nearly at random, climbing on the workbench as she was way to small too reach the shelves on top. One vial fell and the next few hours for her were spend in a horrible place of pain, darkness and shifting between life and death - which is an experience she does not want to repeat.
The owner found her in the morning. He cleaned up around her very carefully after taking an antidote. When he lifted her to get rid of the body he was very surprised to find her alive. A few hours and treatment later she learned for the first time that she was resistant to most poison and therefor also to most stimulants. And that the owner needed an apprentice. She was suited. And anything was better than her uncle. She started to learn and even though her phobia put her into a tight spot she pulled through. She became very knowledgeable and skilled in creating poisons, learned how to create stimulants and all the small little gadgets like disappearing ink or simple gunpowder. During this name she also left her last name behind, cutting the last ties with her uncle.
Lately her apprenticeship ended. She has traveled to Gullian to make a living there, but getting into her craft is hard when you have problems to talk to people and no money. It does not necessarily help

Flaws:
For The Fun Of It - He lacks professionalism at times and will often forsake higher paying jobs for those he deems to be more entertaining. Other times he might not take any paying jobs at all simply because he wouldn’t have time for the sort of impish fun he enjoys.
You Almost Had Me That Time! - Ayden is very skilled at his craft, nearly as good as he thinks he is. Nearly. He has a bad habit of taunting those he believes he's gotten the upper hand over and purposely almost letting them beat him only to (usually) come out on top at the last moment. He can't help himself sometimes and it's landed him in hot water on a number of occasions.

Skill Set

Make It To Fake It [5] - Forgery. The art of counterfeiting a number of different things from letters to licenses, from seals to signatures and everything in between. Rolls when attempting to copy handwriting or wax seals, writing a fake letter and signing it with someone else’s signature, etc.
Smooth Talker [4] - Charisma. All the forgery in the Empire won’t help if the forger appears untrustworthy and “proper” paperwork is only half the con. Other times paperwork won’t work at all and every good crook has a fallback; he prefers words over blades. Rolls exactly when you think it would.
Careful Fingers, Sharp Ears [3] - Lock Picking. Forging a document often requires a copy of the target’s handwriting and acquiring these samples often necessitates a little Bn'E. Again, rolls exactly when you think it would.
Cloak and Dagger [3] - Stealth. Being able to pick a lock is all well and good, but ultimately useless if the one picking the locking isn’t discreet. Also saves him a great deal of money when he doesn't have to hire a burglar to do the job for him. Rolls to avoid or evade detection.

Background:

Ayden was born to a boring family who lived in a boring house, with boring neighbors, in a boring town not worth naming and by Jove it was so damn boring. Everyone had such a hangup about “honest work” and “community values” and other nonsense of that sort. Ayden made his escape at the ripe old age of 13 by getting himself hired as a cabin boy aboard a pirate ship. Scurvy and lice aside, it was a wonderful three years but they eventually came to an end when he met a veteran forger by the name of Hugo Masterson at a port-side pub while the ship was docked. He was soon fascinated by Hugo’s tales of crafting whole identities with quill and parchment and how entire economic empires could be toppled in an afternoon with the right letter sent to the right person.

Hugo took Ayden on as an apprentice within the hour and set about teaching him valuable forgery skills such as how to read and write before moving on to more advanced techniques. Within six years, the cabin boy was now a grown man and a skilled forger to boot. Feeling confident in his skills, Ayden thanked Hugo for all his teachings before setting off on his own for Guillan. He would go on to make a living in the capital’s underbelly selling his talents to a wide range of clients from black market suppliers needing Very Really Real™ royal shipping licenses to fellow crooks who’d bitten off more than they could chew and needed a way to disappear or lay low. His most profitable ventures have him brush shoulders with Lord Vargas himself and his suppliers. A constant stream of contraband requires a constant stream of Very Really Real™ paperwork to keep such a large operation under the nose of the law. Ayden has become one of several regular forgers Vargas employs to cover the tracks of his operation.
