@Odin Oh yeah, definitely! Like I said, I'm not gonna interfere too much unless I feel there is a need for it. It's just a good idea for you to see what things have been discovered when IRL. Which of course is just a guideline, since this is an RP

@6slyboy6 also, will we get a choice in the matter? I'm thinking that for my people I want them to be anti-magic, just to throw some spanners into the wheels of those magic loving primitives around the continent. But then if I get magic technologies, that'd kinda be moot since I'd just have to not use them.

@6slyboy6 Got a pic of the basic map of the two continents and such? My idea was the bottom right corner of the continent, and see what terrain is down there! :D

On another note, at least with the main idea approved under conditions...i don't gotta use the backup idea i whipped up just in case. XD

@Odin Of course you can! Magic or tech is not forced onto anyone if they want to go one way or the other. Heck, you can choose both if you want to! Not limited to any of them if you don't want to.

But magic is good at fighting magic, so you might want to invest a bit into that. Kinda like, I dunno, the Inquisitors against magic, who use magic to kill mages or something

@6slyboy6 I'll wait on getting that environment and topographic info before getting my sheet out. Since it will help me dcide other aspects of the race's physiology based on the area they developed in. XD

@Ascendant Technically we all did, it was just a matter of not having a map when most of you made your sheets

But most of the races turned out good and I did say you can change it if it didn't match your position. Still, it's kind of a redundant thing, changing either or is not that hard.

@6slyboy6 Halp, ended up writing out a long winded manner of how this race's bodies function. T__T

Will be working my stuff for now, just got some done for today and now taking a breather before I head to work. Did manage to work out a heck of a lot of the biology and such tho. Yet I don't want to feel I am rushing, per say, and go mad with anxieties over it. XD

Though one little thing I'll mention is that I am trying to find a good names for this species.

When I first started writing up the post, I was feeling very tired and uninspired and didn't think I'd get much done. Then it went on for far longer than I thought it would. xD

@Ascendant You can, as long as you fit within the time limit you can post as many as you want. Once everybody is done or wants to move on (or a lot of time has elapsed IRL) then we'll be moving forward with another turn post.

I'm rather enjoying reading these posts thus far so I'll probably wait until at least two more posts or so have been made before I expand on my guys, personally. :)

@Schylerwalker Hrm, I just read your post.

I like it, it's a well written post for sure and it does a good job of conveying what your people are like. But it feels like that the feeling of childish curiosity and that sudden, but faint realization of self and time are palyed off in favor of divine enlightenment. One particular part I thought was perhaps over the top was this:

"The Leader gathered many of the shells and bones. Her followers watched in awe as she showed them how to make bowls and plates from which to eat their food, and utensils to lift it."

Where did she learn that? Same with the fire scene, seemingly without any rhyme or reason, she just knows how to make fire. While yes, I do not mind people doing what people do, I just feel like both of these scenes were a lot more about a sudden rush of knowledge, rather than a rise of interest, a trial and error route at the end of which they did either. I can iamgine them using large leaves as a bowl/palte to keep clean, but not making bowls and utensils without any previous knowledge, just out of the blue.

Like I said, I feel like it doesn't capture what the other posts have, but I might be wrong. I want to know what the others think about it and whether or not I'm a hardass about this, because I do want all of us to have a great time, just not by sacrificing reason. But if everybody is oaky with it, then I have no cmplaints. Not that it gives you any advantage over the others, I just feel like a subtle change in context might do good for the post ^^

@6slyboy6 well, you did tell us that the 'sapience' came very suddenly, and perhaps we can infer from that that because all of our races achieved sapience at the same time (because, well, this is an RP, we start off on the same footing, and so we all achieved it at the same time) it was at the hand of a God, or something equating that. I wouldn't find it too farfetched that this race/the leader just so happened to be gifted with some sort of instinctual guiding knowledge on what to do per their first 2 technologies.

That said, that's definitely me just going by the rules and repeating what we can possibly infer from the situation, and not so much what I'd actually like to read. I'm fine with it, if that's the question, since it really doesn't impact me, my experience or how I view their race. And it's definitely a different approach from everyone writing what essentially is the same post over and over. Like yes, we get it, they build shelter and discover fire, and beat fish with sticks/put pointy sticks in water, but that's the same thing all the other races are doing so how interesting is it to read that 5x over? So in that sense, I'd say it's different, not bad.

@Odin Haha, certainly! Like I said, I very much enjoyed the post, it was probably the one I liked the most when it comes to establishing how a race feels like and behaves. I really got that feel of playful primitives who prefer to spend the day doing fuckall, and I do like that their leader is acting like an angry mom who is telling her children to go clean their room

I just thought it was a bit sudden and out of nowhere, but you're right. It really doesn't imapct much in the form of gameplay, which is why I wanted to make sure if I was the only stingy asshole here X3

Bowls are fairly advanced to an extent and borderline pottery, but it is just using shells. Calling them bowls is inaccurate if they're just shells. Carving the bones into full on utensils may also be pushing things a bit. But like the fish stick traps, we don't really have good outlines of what constitutes basic tools.
