Siofra smiled as she looked up at the idyllic towers of the Academy. Such a regal building could only exist in the capital city of Elwyn. The elegant establishment, built with precious stones and fine metals stood atop a steep plateau. Siofra rode her horse up the trail. She could feel her familiar rustling around in her hat. "Come on, Itchy. You have to calm down." She soon approached the front entrance. All around, nature had been woven together to form a veritable paradise. Animals were flitting all around the forested area. Streams and brooks flowed freely from thawing glaciers atop tall mountains. This part of Alveos was one of the only places where all the realms seemed to converge together. Siofra knew, though, that she would have plenty of time to enjoy the sights. She quickly made her way into the building.

Standing at the entrance was a tall woman with rabbit ears and a stern look. "Name, please."

"My name is Siofra." The student replied.

The woman quickly dug through some papers before finding what she was searching for. "Here is your itinerary, Siofra. Within are your dorm and team assignments, a list of classes, and the expected code of conduct for your stay in our establishment. You are expected to be on your best behavior while attending. We reserve the right to expel those who refuse to obey the rules." Vella was well aware she was intimidating, but she needed to impress on the students that misbehavior was not to be tolerated, especially since the school did tend to attract trouble makers. "Now head to the ravine for the entrance ceremony. It is straight ahead behind the large brass doors." She shooed Siofra away and directed other students in a similar manner.

Siofra followed the instructions she was given through the door. She would skim through the other materials later, though she suspected she might bend a few of the 'guidelines' in the papers she was given. She walked through the open doors into a large, walled-in, opened roof amphitheater. A descending series of stone rows with grass growing lead down to a stage. The perimeter of the ravine was surrounded by trees, which made Siofra feel at home. She noticed that other students had started sitting down on the grassy rows and decided to follow suit. As she was getting comfortable, she saw a short man walk onto the stage, standing on a box to reach the top of the podium.

Jorgle shuffled through his haphazardly arranged notes, pipe firmly in his mouth. He finally arranged his notes before finally fidgetting with the sonic amplification stone attached to the podium. Testing, testing. Can you all hear me?" After a few minutes of silence and more incantations by the professor, his voice finally began to project. "Finally. This confounded thing always acts up when you need it most." He awaited for the remainder of the students to file in, eagerly scanning the faces of his new students. Eventually, he heard a small noise coming from offstage, where he saw Vella impatiently implying he had once again was starting later than he had initially scheduled. "It seems my mind has wandered off and lost track of time again" He chuckled. "My name is Professor Jorgle Shalewater, as you might have already guessed. Aside from being your beloved history teacher, I am also this academy's humble co-founder and headmaster. Queen Selucia was gracious enough to give us this land grant that we might strive together for the future safety and happiness of Alveos. Our world is both long and storied, as well as dangerous and full of those who would seek to destroy it. Our mission is to foster a young generation of adventurers to fight down foes, discover lost pieces of our world's history, and maintain the delicate balance of a world full of wonderful, but very diverse, individuals. You have been chosen to attend based on your personal histories and talents. We very much look forward to teaching the heroes of tomorrow. We hope to see such talented individuals rise to become leaders of the people that we all might benefit." He heard another offstage noise as Vella hinted to him that he should wrap up. "Well, I could go on, but I'm sure you'll get enough of my lecturing later this year. Besides, my secretary is already upset enough about my schedule." He gave another chuckle. "I look forward to meeting you all in person. Feel free to ask me or any of the faculty any questions you may have. Welcome to your new home, the Alveos Adventure Academy!" After a big finish and bow, he stepped off the stage.

Vell approached the podium, have to bend down to reach the amplifier stone. "All students are to report to their respective dorms after you are dismissed. You have been provided with a map of the campus. Your belongings have been placed in your room. The rest of the day is for exploring the campus and meeting your teammates, who have been carefully selected to optimize your career here at the Academy. I suggest learning the location of the cafeteria, the dorms, and the locations of your classes. Tomorrow, we will give you the official campus tour. Finally, the day after that, classes start, so please prepare accordingly. As a reminder, misbehavior will not be tolerated." She sighed and adjusted her glasses. "Welcome to the Academy. You are all dismissed." She briskly stepped away from the podium, collecting the papers Jorgle had left behind.

The ceremony was set to be soon, and everyone was expected to be present. Staff, especially. Alaric was not one to be late, and was already sitting in the staff section of the ceremonial grounds. He was a well-dressed man, cravat tied around his neck, and a well-fitting suit adorning his person. The man's familiar, a large mount-sized wolf, watched over the amphitheatre's proceedings from a distance. Despite its intimidating appearance, it was quite docile.

Listening intently to the headmaster's speech, the black-haired elf smiled, finally putting his hands together to give applause when the speech concluded. Picking himself up, he moved over towards his hoarhound, Hati. Petting her large mane, he gave her a smile. "Are you excited for the new school year? I certainly am."

Nodding, the large creature responded in a voice made of pure, voice-less magic, <As am I. I am curious to see how they fare.>

Ozzie smiled and rocked on the balls of his feet as he listened to the speech. Once it was finished he began to briskly walk to his dorm eager to meet his new roommate . As Ozzie walked lighting sparked around his body causing the smell of ozone to fill the air. Making his way to the dorm Ozzie opened the door and stepped inside . Looking around the dorm he looked at the two beds. " hmm left or right ? " he said to himself . Deciding on the left bed he put his bag down on it and began to unpack smiling as he did. Once unpacking he sat there waiting for his roommate so he could say hello.

Tobias stayed in the amphitheater for a time, watching the crowd leave while trying not to stare. There were many different kinds of people here, more so than he could have ever imagined. His father and his master had told him it would be like this, but he'd nonetheless underestimated the variety of living beings there could be in the wider world. He was curious about them in some ways, but he was also wary, as he was in a new environment. Still...
"To someone who doesn't know any better, a small garden is a forest." Tobias muttered himself.
That was what his master had told him when he'd been convinced to go to this academy. There was only so much he could learn at home, and if he stayed his potential would be wasted. Well, that was what his master had said, but Tobias wasn't sure if he believed that yet. Nevertheless he didn't want to waste his family's money, which meant he couldn't just sit around.

The boy rose to his feet and began to walk out of the amphotheater. When in a new situation he quickly turned to old habits - establish a base, secure a method to aqcuire sustenance, and then check the surrounding environment. Step one was heading to the dorms. Tobias quietly followed the crowd, as they were going towards the same place. The group arrived soon enough and split off towards their own rooms. The boy walked with measured steps, following the path indicated by the map in his hand. The things he brought weren't particularly valuable, so he wasn't in any hurry to get to his room.

Tobias arrived soon enough. It seemed plain, not of any particular note compared to the ones next to it. He wondered if his teammate(s?) had arrived already as he opened the door. As he did, he was met by a familiar smell, like the air after a thunderstorm. Surprised, the boy looked at the occupant of the room.
"Hello?" Tobias said warily.

Ozzie looked at the person who spoke. Seeing a brown haired human male ozzie got up smiling . " so you must be my roommate " he said energetically . Holding out his hand Ozzie studied him" so what are you specializing in? " Ozzie asked curiously . He tried to keep himself from accidentally electrocuting the boy. " I'm a lighting elemental by the way that's why it smells like this in here. " he told the boy. Shifting his feet for a more comfortable position Ozzie still held the same smile exited to meet a new person in ages . " My name's Ozzie by the way . " he said as a little bit of electricity sparked off him but he soon got it under control.

Tobias had never encountered a lightning elemental. Or any elemental, really. He recalled his master saying a little about them - beings of pure energy that embody the forces of nature. He was familiar with lightning, though. He tried to be careful not to be too hesitant when taking the elemental's hand, and did his best not to flinch when it sparked a little.
"Right. My name is Tobias." The boy said, shaking Ozzie's hand. "As for my specialisation, it was..."

Letting go of Ozzie's hand he fished in his pocket for the sheets of paper he'd been given at the gate. He couldn't quite recall what he'd been assigned to.
"Let's see... light armour. I'm a ranger." Tobias said after a pause.
The ranger part would have been easy enough to extrapolate, based on the bow sticking out of his bags in the middle of the room. It was his father's bow, now it was his. The boy's eyes quickly glanced over it to see if it had been damaged, before turning to Ozzie's luggage. Habit made him undergo a threat assessment of his new roommate, before realising that it would probably be rude to continue. He was sure he could guess his profession from his belongings, but he should probably ask first.
"Well, how about you? What's your specialisation" Tobias asked, in as casual a tone as he could manage.

Ozzie noticed him flinch he felt bad about it but didn't say anything . He then whiped his hands nervously on his pants .Tobias certainly looked the part of a ranger he thought. He had that oudoorsy feel to him . Realizing he had been asked a question Ozzie smiled . " My specialization is... " he said trailing off as he also fished out his slip.

" My specialization is warrior specifically Viking " he said smiling. He then walked over to his things and pulled out a slim object covered in cloth. " I see you have a bow it seems to be of excellent make by the way " Ozzie said complementing his weapon. Taking the cloth off it revealed a thick thirty inch double edged rounded at the tip polished metal blade with runes engraved along it a leather grip and a simple polished oval pommel and guard to balance the blade. " this is my weapon it's known as a ulfbert sword variant " he says smiling.

Emi was sitting on a branch that grew from one of the trees surrounding the amphitheater. The height over the other new students gave her a clear view of everyone on stage, and the other students attending the pseudo orientation. Mimi was perched besides her resting her wings from the long flight it took to get here. The forests were large, and the plains were even larger before they reached the mountains.

When Headmaster Jorgle started speaking Emi leaned in closer to fully grasp what he had to say. She was excited. Jorgle was nothing like she had seen before. She was familiar with other smaller beings, herself being one, but Jorgle was the shortest tall person she had seen. And it was not just Jorgle, the woman with the cute rabbit ears was amazingly tall and very intimidating, even though she was several meters away from where Emi was sitting.

Jorgle didn’t say much, but it was enough to further Emi’s excitement for even being there. She felt that if anyone was still distant to what was happening, and then this is what brought in the realization. She was here, she was going to learn to be like those adventurers that come and go through out the forest she called home. Mimi didn’t seem to care one way or another, but she was at peace not having to worry about any distress in their immediate surroundings.

When the tall rabbit lady, Vella, dismissed everyone Emi looked around as her fellow classmates shuffled out looking through various packets of parchment. Curious as to what they were, Emi hopped off the branch and flew down into the crowd. She’d hover over various students’ shoulders looking at the papers in their hands. More than once, she was brushed aside perhaps thought to be a fly. She quickly flew back to Mimi. The students had papers listing classes, subjects, and a map just like Vella mentioned. Emi didn’t have any of those. When Emi arrived she sort of skipped the entrance entirely and flew into the amphitheater through its open roof. That is where everyone was gathering, so she assumed that was where she needed to be. She was correct more or less, but missed her greeting at the entrance.

She was at a loss for what to do, since she had no idea where her dorm was, who her teammates where, or what classes she had. She crossed her arms in thought before looking back at the crowd and then the stage.

Of Course!

If anyone knew anything about where Emi was supposed to go it would be the headmaster, Jorgle. Standing on the branch, she jumped off it once again and darted towards the stage where hopefully Jorgle was still there. Mimi flew after her. As she approached closer over the stage, she started to shout:

"Jorgle, Mr. Jorgle! Hey. I don't have any of those papers. Could I get some? Please?"

Tobias nodded.
"I see." He said aloud.
He had no idea what Ozzie was talking about, but it was nonetheless quite impressive. The elemental's sword was significantly longer than any he'd seen, probably significantly heavier too. That Ozzie could wield it was quite interesting, considering that, based on what Tobias knew, he should be made entirely of lightning. Although, he didn't look like he was lightning at the moment...

Tobias coughed to clear his head. It probably didn't matter too much in the grand scheme of things, it only mattered that he could use it.
"That's a pretty impressive sword." He finally said.
The boy looked around the room once again. He wasn't sure where to take the conversation now. His eyes settled on his belongings. He turned back to Ozzie and began to speak once more.
"Do you mind if I organise my things?"

Ozzie smiled " why thank you and no I do not mind at all" he said to Tobias . Setting his sword back in the cloth as he had yet to get a sheath ozzie sits back with a sigh. " so how long do you think we need to stay in our dorm? " he asked Tobias. While he did he moved his fingers red lighting sparking through them. He sighed once again then laid down on his bed looking up at the ceiling. " so do you think there's going to be rivals between dorms? " he asks Tobias interested . " Because I think there might be as not everyone can get along especially if there's a ice elemental. " he said.

"Do you think she'll let me pet her ears?" Eliyen said to Daria while looking at Vella, the rabbit beastfolk now giving a speech at the podium. "They look so fluffy."

Eliyen was amazed with the sight of Vella. Even when the headmaster was speaking, her complete attention was on those big fluffy ears. Her attention only returned when Vella left her sight. Her hands were now gently caressing the ears of Pakun, her rabbit familiar as she wondered if they would feel the same way.

She sighed and then turned to Daria. "So what do we do now?" She asked. "I wasn't paying attention."

By now, Daria would probably know about Eliyen's attention when it came to fluffy things.

Daria didn't get much more out of the speech than the lady she served - her ears twitched constantly while they were in the crowd, trying to zero in on individual sounds as they appeared. They listened briefly to the flutter of bug-like wings from a nearby tree. They darted to hear a spark of electricity fly from an elemental. They tried to identify a thousand sounds and the various threats and weren't successful at identifying every sound - or hearing the majority of the speech.

For a couple of seconds, Daria didn't respond as Eliyen kept glancing towards the stage in some hope of catching a glimpse of the secretary. Daria's tail swished behind her aggressively as she folded her arms and looked away in an attempt to hide an emotion - whatever it was - that seemed to always well in her chest when Eliyen paid more attention to something more fluffy than herself. "Hmph. I'm not exactly sure how you intend on graduating if you're chasing every fluffy pair of ears in sight - or how I can keep you safe.."

She supposed it was time to answer her owner's question though - she didn't want to be too harsh to her fragile mistress. "Didn't they give you some sort of handout? We should probably go wherever that suggests, princess ... Seems like everyone is splitting up and out of here." Daria tried to smile at Eliyen, but her eyes constantly darted around trying to search each person for any semblance of ill intent.

"Well, I don't really know how long we're supposed to stay here." Tobias replied, moving his bags towards the unoccupied bed.
The sheet didn't said to 'report to the dorms', that didn't mean a whole lot. His read on it was that they were supposed to meet their teammates. After that, they could theoretically go wherever they wanted. But first, he had to secure his base.

Tobias carefully extracted the bow from his bag. Ozzie had mentioned it was of good make, but Tobias didn't really know, even though he had been using it for a long time. It had held up quite well for that time, though, so he supposed it must have been good. Tobias slung it over his back - destringed, since he didn't plan on using it. From the same bag he extracted his hunting knife and fit the leather sheathe onto his belt. He was almost ready.

Tobias rose to his feet as Ozzie asked his next question. He frowned thoughtfully as he considered the notion of rivals. He didn't really know about elementals so he wasn't sure why Ozzie mentioned ice elementals specifically. As for everyone not getting along, that was natural. There were many different kinds of people meshing together, it was inevitable that there would be some discord. As for rivalry, he wasn't sure. He hadn't interacted with other people much so he had no idea how rivalries worked. He supposed that when resources were scarce, animals tended to get more aggressive with each other. Lines were drawn and they'd go at it every so often. He didn't know how this academy would go, so he couldn't say it was out of the question. If that was the case...

"Rivalries, hm? I suppose we'll have to wait and see." Tobias said.
He pushed his bags under the bed with his foot. He could sort out his luggage later, right now he wanted to explore the grounds.
"I'll be going out." The boy said curtly, walking towards the door.

Eliyen sighed deeply as she looked at the handout given to her. "Daria, please don't call me princess here." She said while inspecting the map of the campus. "I am just a normal student and you are my partner, not my bodyguard."

She looked around, trying to see if someone would be listening to her. She didn't want anyone to find out that she was the daughter of a diplomat but after a quick glance, she returned her attention to the map. Pakun was now laying down comfortably on top of Eliyen's head. which she didn't mind as she was already used to. After finding out where she should be going, she pointed towards the direction of the dorms.

"I suppose we should go to our dorms first then and take care of our things. It's this way." She said and began walking in the direction of the dorms. "I'm really excited to be here. I can't wait for classes to start. What about you?" She asked while walking, focusing entirely on the path ahead of her, a gentle smile forming on her lips.

Daria pounced on the opportunity provided to tease Eliyen. "Partner, eh?" The elf would feel an arm slide around the small of her back, hand squeezing the opposite side softly. If the diplomat's daughter looked into the eyes of the leopardess, she would see a fierce playfulness within them. "You know, in the tribe there were a few couples of women who call each other 'partner' - sometimes they talk a little too loudly about how things worked ..." Eliyen would feel the hand glide up her back, teasing the surface - before a finger poked her owner's delicate nose and the warrior spun a couple of feet away with a grin on her face. "I'm flattered Eliyen - I really am, but you need to at least wine and dine me first."

Ozzie smiled and stood up grabbing his ulfbert and put the blade underneath his belt to hold it as he currently did not have a sheath. " mind if I come with? those people speaking said to meet your teammates and explore the school. " Ozzie asked. Not really waiting for an answer he walked out the door looking at his map. " so where do you want to go first cafeteria, or our classes? " he asked eagerly . As he waited for a answer he looked around at the hallway bits of lighting arcing around him in excitement .

Oh, right.
"Sure, I don't mind." Tobias said.
He should have asked if Ozzie wanted to come when he'd announced his intent. He was used to going alone, and he preferred it like that in many ways. But he was supposed to be in a team now, so he'd have to be more careful next time.

Tobias watched as Ozzie went out to the hall ahead of him, watched the arcs of lightning flake off the elemental's body. It would probably be a strange partnership, but it would also hopefully be a good learning experience.
"Let's go to the cafeteria first." Tobias said, walking out the dorm.

Ozzie nodded and checked the map matching Tobias's stride. " I'm pretty sure it's south of here " he said as he consulted the map. Beginning to walk to the way the map showed he looked around. " you know my first thought when I arrived was man this is a pretty big place " Ozzie said to Tobias. Resting one hand on the pommel of his ulfbert to calm himself and the other holding his map which was now half charred from lighting. Ozzie pointed to the direction they needed to go and let Tobias Lead the way.

Siofra waited for a moment after the presentation to collect her stuff and head to her room. She focused on the rabbit woman and frowned. Wonder who shoved a stick up her butt? She's gonna make things a pain. She sighed and exited the chamber, though she had a feeling she would make her way back here at a later time. She really enjoyed the ambiance. She went to the large building in the east and took a couple of flights of stairs and made her way to the residential section. She finally found her room and pulled out the instructions. It says to place my hand on the door. Apparently it has been set up to read my mana signature. She did as the instructions noted. There was a short green glow and the door unlocked. Inside, she found a room with three beds. She could clearly see her luggage had been placed near the bed next to the window. She began to unpack her stuff. She placed her miniature cauldron and supply of books on the small desk near her bed. She placed her clothes and robes in the small wardrobe designated as hers. Finally, she moved her small tree next to the window. "There, now you can get some sun, Yewlises."

Vella heard the voice well before Jorgle did. She took a few moments to find the source. "Ma'am, we have a tight schedule. The information should be in your paperwork...

Jorgle cut her off. "Vella, the students are our top priority. The others can wait for a few minutes." He smiled at his diminutive pupil. Did you receive the paperwork for new students? What is your name? As for the dorm locations, there is a building to the east, rather large. It should be unavoidable. That's the residential building. You should see plenty of students around there. From there, you just need to find your room number. Your partners will likely be over there soon."

Emi initially flinched when Vella turned to address her. Those long ears were definitely more than just for show. For the moment she forgot what she was saying until Jorgle spoke up. Realizing that she was silent she lowered herself to be eye level with Jorgle.

“I didn’t get any of the paperwork. I sorta didn’t know there was any until after the ceremony.” Said Emi shyly, “I flew over the wall.” She took a quick glance at Vella who no doubt in one way or another thought the situation disgraceful. Looking back at Jorgle, she smiled and did a little curtsy.

“I’m Emi, er, Emiimmi, but everyone calls me Emi. It’s so exciting to be attending this academy. I’ve heard lots from the people who come from here.” She said aflutter. Emi knew about the large building east, she and Mimi flew right past it as they traveled over the academy. She also saw other sorts of buildings, some with courtyards, others with water features, some even sparked at various locations. Nonetheless, she also thanked him for the information.

“So yeah, I just need some of those papers, please. You said they had info on the academy, right? Like a map and schedule?”
