S U M M A R Y
The air was cold for a spring day, the temperature should have been rising considering the climate change that was expected from the Gavianian mining to the north. What was unexpected in such a peaceful day was the sounds of engines to the south, the untrained ear would assume it was the engines of an Antrean fighter. Alas, many would-be mistaken as a concert of Vlhakian aircraft ripped through the sound barrier and onward to Vlasko Air Base nearby the village of Hammond.
Air warnings scattered the skies, ears were filled with a mixture of alarms and gunfire as the base was strafed and some aircraft outright destroyed. There had been no declaration of war, no communication, no warning.
Sortie!
Those who were around, awake and willing manned their planes and took off, one of the squadrons that took the fight to the Vlhakian that day was 450 Angel Squadron. A mixture of seasoned and new aces looking to prove themselves on the battlefield, in this instance they were fighting for their lives.
The Vlhakians didn’t come unprepared, while many of the MiG fighters were green themselves they were being led by a Vlhakian Ace. Lieutenant James Winkoop, a seasoned ace of the Vlhakian-Delrosa war. With a fighter squadron and an assault group of bombers under his command, Vlasko Air Base would just be another battle honor under his belt notch.
The battle was yet to be decided, history would favor the victors.

Becoming a nation in 1994, the Republic of Antrea was a northern colony under the ownership of the Kingdom of Vlhakian until the secession war was initiated by William Montgomery an influential resistance leader who later would become the president of the republic. In its fledgling years, the Republic fought to become an internationally recognized country outside of Vlhakia which in 2001 the Republic received its recognization by the International Commission.
Antrea's capital city is in the heart of its nation, the city of Vaughan where the central government rests. While the republic hasn't had a major war since the seccession they have had conflicts with other nations but only in terms of small wars and skirmishes over the course of 2001-2015. Most notably the Antrea-Delrosa incident (2001) to the west, Gavian Border skirmishes (2009) to the north and the Partia-Antrea (2015) air war which was the most notable as Andrea was able to gain air superiority with it's dated aircraft.
The Republic enjoys relative peace, however, as of recent they have become complacent due to the current government, intelligence services and relative global stability. With the surprise attack by Vlhakia, Antrea scrambles to try and hold together what they can while outside observers watch as one of the most brutal wars of the century kicks off.

Vlhakia is one of the oldest known and formed empires in the Known World, Vlhakia was once a powerhouse of the Known World but in the early 20th century they faced a coalition by the International Commission which resulted in a long protracted war. Dubbed the Golden Wars, Vlhakia eventually lost and conceded land to the Yukadra which later on lost land to the Belforth and Delrosa once they gained independence from Yukadra.
The Kingdom is ruled by Queen Julia De Everette a fair but ruthless dictator of her people, through her father's mentorship she had cultivated Vlhakia into a powerhouse from the ashes of her ancestors. There have been various short-wars with Delrosa & Patria, while none have gained the Kingdom any solid ground or resources it has churned out a war-seasoned military which is now put to the test against the fledging Antrea Republic.
Life in the Kingdom had been well up until two decades ago when provinces wanted to break away from the Kingdom, most notably Antrea. With Antrea's wealth of resources gone Vlhakia had struggled to keep its citizens content with daily needs. In 2019 it hit a breaking point, in response the military would be the ones to fix the problems the monarchy coulden't. Antrea and others will soon be under the commanding and lawful authority of, Vlhakia.

Delrosa is a ex-Yukadra state which has been left incomplete instability for the last few decades, the principality is commanded by Prince Amon St. Germaine who preaches his divine right to rule by the dead gods. His people had been fighting against the group of partisans seeking to dethrone the king and return the state under the rightful rule of Yukadra. While their secession from Yukadra was bloodless as Yukadra was dealing with an invasion from 'the other continent' many citizens felt that Delrosa took the wrong turn when the state of affairs affected daily life.
Delrosa jumped into many conflicts, notably the Antrea-Delrosa & Vlhakia-Delrosa war where both nations were provoked into a tenious and prolonged air conflict with Delrosa. What Delrosa had for itself was a fanatically led army and a technologically superior air force which dominated the skies in the Vlhakia campaigned but was routed in the Antrea front. Not much is heard from Delrosa outside of refugees escaping the power vacuum.
A Delrosa is one of two people, for the king or against him. Delrosans are thrown into one of these categories and don't seem to break these beliefs until they escape the country. With Yukadra engaged in espionage and saboteur and Delrosa's army fighting off a rebellion all it takes is a spark to put such a state into flames. To others, the country is known to be a pain internationally and to its neighbors itself, however other parties of interest may be at play in what is known as the longest civil wars known to mankind.

Neighboring to the west of Antrea, The Patrian Merchant Republic sits in relative peace as it works to bring trade all across the Known World. One of the oldest founded nations in the Known World, Patria is known for its friendliness and open borders. In the past, it clashed with the Kingdom of Vlhakia but after staving off the waves of fighters they were able to open a channel of dialogue to cease the war. 50% of the Known World's International trade is done through Patria at their far port of Saltbane.
Patria is ruled by a board of governors each governor controlling a province in the divided country they all report to the Merchant's Council which appoints the governors and gives them the power to rule over the province. The real power lies with the Council as they essentially are the old boys club to the entire country, the cost of living is relatively decent compared to other countries and citizens enjoy cheap social services.
While there has been internal dissent over the greedy who wish to rule the country, the loyal Patrian Guard the country's armed forces keep an ever vigil watch and a neutral stance in wars. Patria would not throw their country in a war that wouldn't profit them.

The Belforth Royal Emancipation Legion departed from Yukadra decades ago alongside Delrosa in a bloody civil war that left hundreds of thousands dead. The Belforth Legion is a religious state in a never-ending war with Yukadra, they consider Yukadra to be their holy land as told by the 'Dead Gods'. Ever since their independence and secession, they have been fighting the longest wars to date, while Yukadra is able to fight off the Legion hordes they continue to grow and outsmart their superior enemy.
Under the supreme command of Father Hunter Reltabi he commands his followers to fight in the crusade against Yukadra, life in Belforth is unknown but is speculated to be harsh and in a military-like manner as each citizen serves in combat and non-combative roles for the legion. Their main power lies with its army but their aged airforce of MiGs is able to hold it's own against with its ancient squadrons of aces.
While it has no diplomatic ties to any other countries and it's the only member not apart of the International Commission it's only ally is to the south - Delrosa which relies on it's instability to help the Prince assure his dominace on the throne. If the prince is overthrown, who will protect the land from the Legion?

Yukadra holds under its belt two dozens former empires, republics and other nations that have fallen under the ever-expansive empire. It was only a few decades ago they were stopped by the Belforth Legion's never ending war along with the International Commission's threat of intervention.
Yukadra worships the Emperor as the descendant of the Storvay the all creator god of The Known World, with such power the Emperor spreads his influence onto the nations Yukadra takes over. With everyone following him with religious fervor, few dissents internally but Yukadra's biggest non-believers are the Belforth Empancipation Legion which fights to take over the holy land. Few if any ever emigrate away from Yukadra.
The military of the Yukadra is one of the strongest in the world, specifically their air force as they utilize technology only available in Gavinain. Their religious fervor gives them the edge against their enemy as they rarely fear their death, as dying in combat would allow them to ascend to the Great Gates far above. Recently Yukadra had been growing its naval forces, questions as to why the Empire is raising its navy size have only garnered one response.

Admittedly, not much is known about The Gavian Technocracy. Despite the loud and often disturbing drilling and construction that is done on the south Gavian border, the country has always been known to be a closed border country. Only those with the highest intelligence or those who possess extremely rare skill sets may apply and are considered for citizenship. No one has ever left the country, but Gavians are known internationally as the technological leaders of the Known World.
For the highest bidder, they sell the best air craft, weapons, miracles, you name it they sell it many try to imitate what they have but fail. Outside of their closed country, they are only seen in full-body protective suits at International Commission meetings.

The International Commission was created jointly with dozens of Republics, Kingdoms, Evangelical and other types of nations at the end of the 19th century after the Known World was recovering from a slew of international conflicts and disasters. The intent of Commission was to mediate through conflicts and if needed step in and stop tyrannical potentially world-ending nations wars, most recently the Coalition against the Kingdom of Vlhakia.
The Commission promotes peace, international trade, human rights & disaster relief efforts, almost every nation in the Known World is a member of the International Commission and adheres to their treaties. Fewer nations have seats on the Peacekeeping Task Force. Only a few nations in the world are not apart of the International Commission most notably Belforth. Some other nations don't associate with the Commission based off of conflicting beliefs or in a means to assert neutrality.
