Megan Pendragon

Location: the Morgue
Skills: Forensic Pathology

"Legion of the Damned, the Dead is an entirely different thing," she couldn't help but correct her boss. She smiled slightly at him, somehow appearing innocent during it. She had been told before that her smiles could make people uncomfortable, but given that she never had living patients, her bedside manner never mattered too much. She followed him on over to the cold locker, peering at the body with interest. It was mostly the location that struck her, especially given the letter she had received earlier. The victim had died at the very orphanage she had been left at over a decade ago - her memories of that time were incredibly dim. She couldn't even recall how she had gotten there or where she had come from.

She tilted her head slightly, noting the massive burn on the body. "That's what killed him," she informed her brother. He was rather short, about her own height, and obese. "It doesn't seem he's your type, I'm sorry to say," Megan mused. "Mind helping me get him onto the slab? Unless of course you're eager to run off to the orphanage..." Megan then fell silent for a moment, thinking. "... I wonder if this has something to do with this letter I received, warning me about grave danger and my birth parents." She then pulled the letter out to show to her brother, curious to see what the detective would think.

Annabelle Lafeyette

Annie smiled down a little curiously at the boy. Maybe she didn't think he would be so keen on conversation, but she was happy to oblige him for now. It was only polite, after all. She had only a few hours left until she had to go back to school but it's not like she had anything better to do than talk to this kid. What else was there? Go and watch some oh so riveting TV? It was a nice day out, and talking to people was always interesting.

"They're good, thanks for asking. Still working days, just like they used too. How are yours? Are you taking care of yourself now? Being alone and stuff? That's must kind of exciting, huh?" She thought, remembering the first few times her parents trusted her to be in the house alone. Darn, what was this kids name again? She might just have to straight up ask him. One of the things she learned she hated was talking to someone without knowing what to call them. Always added a bit of awkwardness to classmate conversations.

Jack Gold

Location: the Morgue
Skills: N/A

"See you later Owen," Jack said with a slight wave towards the man as he left the area. Now looks like they had work to do, a new corpse was in the morgue, and there was a chance that the guy was a homicide case. If that was what it was, it definitely was going to be a long day. Walking over as Megan started looking over the corpse. The location that the body had been found in certainly as a strange one, as it was the same place that he and Megan had been adopted from. This might make things more then a bit interesting in the end.

Pulling out his notebook and pen from his pocket, he started writing down a few notes on the body and cause of death. He rolled his eyes at her comment. "So nice to me Meg, though I probably should see about heading to the orphanage and see if anyone there knows anything," he said, turning towards the door as he started heading out. However, when Megan mentioned the letter, he whirled back around. "Wait... You got some weird letter like that too? I didn't mention it because I didn't think it was too important."

Rosalia Rider

Location: the Streets
Skills: N/A

Rosalia couldn't help but smirk to herself as she took off to the main street, pulling her hood off of her head, letting her short curls free. She set the goggles on top of her head as she slowed down to blend in somewhat as she walked down the street, slinging the purse over her shoulder as if it belonged to her. That was always the trick with these sort of things. If you acted like you belonged, or that something you just stole belonged to you, the fewer people questioned it. Made things way easier over all.

She slipped into the nearest restaurant, figuring that it was her best option. It meant that she could hopefully avoid anyone who might question her, laying low for a little while before maybe making her way back to her small apartment. With any luck she'd only have to lie low for a few minutes or something. It would make things better for her in the long run that way. This was the part about being a thief that she didn't really care for, playing the waiting game.

Pandora Quill

Location: Wichita, Kansas - Streets
Skills: Deception, Persuasion

Pandora had to hand it to the girl behind her, she hadn't noticed her until after she made off with her goods. Where the hell were these scammers and thieves when she was around initially? The former thief offered a deal, seizing an opportunity when she saw it. "Thanks for the offer, but rule number one in running the streets: Don't trust a thief." Quickly as she could, Pandora ran forward and scaled the fence. It took little time, thankful that her exercise habits kept her in shape. She turned back to the girl she left behind. "Rule number 2: Don't rely on others what you can do yourself."

Pandora ran after the girl, catching up to her inside the restaurant. Her hand slid against her purse and she nearly fumbled the grab, mentally chastising herself for such a careless effort, but she did end up grabbing her purse back. She checked inside it, seeing all she had left in it. "Impressive grab and solid jump at an opportunity when it presented itself, but I will take back what is mine. Thanks. There's plenty of fresh meat on these streets if you want to hit some chump, but don't insult the queen," Pandora whispered to the girl. She stood up straight now. "Oh thank you sweetheart for finding my purse for me! I was just beside myself with worry and came back here to retrieve it and here you are. And I bet you don't want a reward, but I won't hear of it. Please, someone who works here, give this little hero a dessert of some kind, on me, for her wonderful act of kindness." Pandora pulled out a $10 bill and put it on the counter for some worker to grab. She then patted Rosalia's cheek and turned on her heel and walked out the door. Pandora put her shades back on and walked down the street back to her original destination. Home sweet home.

Cassiopeia Hood

Location: Cassi’s Bedroom -- Cassi & Layla’s Apartment
Skills:

”Daybreak. Some zombie show. I don’t know why we were all obsessed with zombie things for so long but it isn’t bad. Pretty funny too,” she noted. If Layla had paid the bill than maybe they were fixing something. A notice of some kind would have been nice but this building wasn’t exactly the four seasons but it was dry and free of bugs. She finished off her muffin and licked her fingers free from any crumbs. Cassiopeia sighed, resting her head on her sister’s shoulder as she watched the show. ”Ya I guess, I was really hoping to be lazy in bed all day though,” she informed her sister.
Cassiopeia reached out and scratched Fuzzy’s head before lifting hers back and looked over at the letter sitting loose on the edge of her bed. She had always been curious about her birth parents. They were older when they were finally adopted out so they knew from the beginning that they had real parents somewhere. Cassiopeia just assumed they were dead. It was better than thinking that her and her sister were unwanted. ”We could always go to Oak Park. I mean, between the two of us with our knife throwing and my archery skill, it’s hard pressed we would be taken if it was a hoax or something of that nature,” Cassiopeia mused.

Willow Jones

Location: The Diner
Skills:

Willow inhaled the fresh cup of coffee appreciatively and started to add some cream and sugar to take away a bit of the bitterness. She looked at Sierra and shook her hand gently, smiling. ”Willow and sure, if you’d like. I guess you aren’t that busy today,” Willow noted and looked around the diner. She looked back at Sierra when she mentioned school. ”Oh? What are you taking?” Willow picked up her coffee and blew on it a bit before taking a sip. It wasn’t horrible but it wasn’t Starbucks.
Willow was glad for the conversation, wanting a bit of distraction. The letter had her shook and she worried for her parents. Willow set her coffee down and pulled out her phone. She texted the group chat her and her parents had, asking if they were alright and if they had received any strange letters. Her dad was a well known lawyer and no stranger to hate mail but her mother was a teacher. Why would she be in danger? After sending the text Willow set her phone on the table so she would hear the responding text ring through before she opened up her textbook. ”Sorry, I should be studying. Unfortunately. You can stay seated there if you need a break though.” Willow never really wanted to study but she cared about what she was learning and that meant needing to study. At least she was interested in this stuff.

Mab had gotten a mysterious letter too? Rose's body tensed. She had told Mab that she had been adopted, but Rose hadn't told her the whole story. Rose kept the found in a forest part of her past a secret. She took Mab's order. "Of course I'll go with you. That's what friends are for." She gave them a smile, but her heart was racing. That was the same park.

"But...I think I got the same letter. Let me put your order in, here." She pulled the letter from her pocket and handed it to Mab to look over while she put the order in. Rose took the time she was getting fresh hot water for Mab's tea, to take a few deep breaths. Then returned to their table with the hot water.

Wichita Kansas Streets:

The people in he restaurant took a moment and stared between both Pandora and Rosalia they weren't really sure what to believe, but watched for a few seconds before they all went back to whatever they were all doing. While a waiter came over to Rosalia just as Pandora had left looking at her for a moment. "Would you like a table or something?" He asked while looking at her, and then over at the door as it closed behind her. "Was she a friend of yours or something?" He asked, having just coming out from the back of the restaurant, the rest of the patrons didn't seem to mind at all really.

"And rule three don't get yourself caught." The girl said to Pandora as she tapped her on the shoulder, and smirking a little bit, though she meant it more in a joking way. She looked over at the restaurant that Pandora had just left seeing that she gotten her purse back, and then walked a little bit ahead of her.

"They are doing alright for the most part." The kid answered Annabelle while petting Doug some more before stepping back and smiled a little bit he did enjoy having the place to himself from time to time as well. He then looked over seeing the girl talking to Pandora who seemed to recognize her as well and waved towards his friend,

Wichita Kansas Morgue:

"Well aren't vampires called the damned to or something?" Owen called out jokingly towards Megan and Jack as well, before closing the door to the morgue behind him. The bag of stuff that was found on the John Doe, Jack would notice the burnt shirt, if he checked it there was a wallet though there wasn't any kind of ID in it either or any kind of credit cards. Only about fifty dollars two twenties and a ten dollar bill in there and some loose change.

Wichita Kansas Oak Park:

Over at the park there were some people walking their dogs or walking around, there weren't really any picnics going on right now either since it was a little cold out as well. There wasn't really anything interesting that stood out to Matt or Colby either, and the letter did say that there was three days before the meet up as well. They would notice a short haired woman eyeing them from a distance though, leaning up against a tree while cutting into an apple.

Sierra Finley

Location: The Dinner
Skills:

"Willow is a cute name." Sierra said giving her a friendly smile and then took a seat across from the girl and leaned up a little bit in the booth while looking over at her friend Rose who was talking with another customer. "Marine biology for me, what about you?" Sierra asked, though she nodded slightly and understood that she was probably disturbing her right now. But there weren't really any other customers in the store right now either. Sierra reached over for a nearby mug that was on the table as well and poured herself a cup of coffee as well.

"Sorry, I can leave if you'd like it's obviously a pretty slow day right now." She said as Sierra looked down at the letter in her apron pocket, and pulled it out again quietly reading it over. Then slipped it back into her pocket looking over at the manager who had came out from his office. "You can go home now if you want Sierra." He told her, which she smiled and nodded she had been there since this morning as well.

Layla Hood

Location: Layla's Apartment
Skills:

Layla gently patted her twin sister on he head as she watched the show that she had been watching, she always did love watching The Walking Dead, and other zombie shows and movies. "Theres nothing wrong with a good zombie movie or show." Layla said smiling a little bit while gently petting her cat on the head while looking at her twin when she mentioned about going to Oak Park where the letter said to meet whoever sent it was.

"It's probably a really dumb and sick prank by one of our coworkers O." Layla said shaking her head slightly, but she had always been curious who their actual parents were as well. "But if you want we can go over there now see whats going on over there or something." Layla said she really didn't mind and since the power was out in the apartment there wasn't much else to do and the computer did have limited battery life as well.

Mab looked on as Rose walked away from their table after dropping that bombshell. They had gotten the same letter? That was odd to say the least. What could it be, they wondered, that could cause this? One of the few people's in their lives had gotten a letter on the same day telling them to go to the same park. Looking after their friend, they anxiously waited for them to return and explain more.

Taking the cup from their friend, Mab held it in their hands, feeling the bright warmth against their almost shaking hands. "That's rather odd isn't it?" If she had gotten the same letter as Mab, she might be as put off as Mab was. The whole tone of it all was burningly ominous, and that alone made it Mab unwanting to go alone. "Honestly, if anything, it's luck we both received one, I wouldn't want to visit that park alone." They smiled, wanting to see what Rose's thoughts on the matter were.

Matthew Madigan

Location: Oak Park
Skills: N/A

Maddy was a whirlwind of emotions as they made their way towards the park. His heart was beating so fast he could have sworn it would tear out of his chest and fly off into the distance. The why however was rather unknown, or at the very least complicated. His emotions for Colby ran a bit wild as they sat there holding hands, Colbys eyes fixated on the road before them as he concentrated on his driving. This was one source of his hearts fast paced beating, the other was the growing anxiety that gnawed at the pit of his stomach. A deep churning sensation as they grew closer and closer to their destination, worry riddling him wondering what they might find when they enter the park. Would the stranger be present? Or perhaps some prankster who used to be part of the orphanage they both were at. His mind was at war, curious and wanting to seek answers to the questions that kept arising, yet anxious and afraid of looking for such answers for the fear that he may not like what he finds. These thoughts were enough to drive someone mad.

Once they finally approached, Maddy let go of the breathe he had been holding. Muscles once tense now relaxing as he was finally able to gain feeling in his face. What he saw before him wasn't anything to be nervous about, nothing screamed out of the ordinary; it was just people enjoying a day in the park with their dogs and children, and families. Maybe he thought too much on this? After all he thinks too much on everything, or so he is told. His eyes scanned the park, searching for an unknown, a stranger amongst a sea of strangers. That's when he finally saw her, a woman looking straight at him, carving an apple with a blade in her hand. His hand tensed up once again, feeling Colbys in his and realizing he had never let go. "S-sorry. Look, there's someone there...looking right at us." Maddy nodded towards her direction, trying not to show that he had caught her staring. "Don't worry, I'm sure it'll be fine. Just relax and breathe ok?: Whether this was to Colby or himself it was hard to tell since Maddy had the horrible habit of given very good advice, yet very seldomly following it.

🗡️ Megan Pendragon 🗡️

Location: the Morgue
Skills: N/A

Megan's interest was piqued. Her brother had also received the bizarre letter, warning about their birth parents being in danger? Their adoptive parents were very well off, since they were both doctors, and she wondered if it was some sort of attempt at stealing money from them. Robbery attempts had had crazier premises before. However, the corpse at the orphanage... It couldn't have just been a coincidence. The universe was rarely so lazy. There then remained just one logical line of inquiry - the letters she and Jack had received must have been connected to the body in the morgue. "I'm coming with you to the orphanage," Megan decided, not giving her brother a choice about it. It wasn't too unusual for medical examiners to assist in investigations anyways.

"Think about it - we both get this bizarro letter, and then a stiff shows up at the children's orphanage? I doubt that's a coincidence." She didn't know what the explanation behind all of this was, but she didn't like it. And as much as she enjoyed talking about going to crusade for the forces of the night, Megan didn't believe in such things. The only monsters in the world were human. She took off her gloves, tossing them into the bin, and she then put her lab coat up on a hook. Grabbing her coat, she then put that on and looked at her almost-twin brother expectantly. "I think we ought to go see what the current administration there know about all of this - maybe other orphans have gotten letters like these - or maybe they can at least ID our John Doe..."

She pulled out her phone, before quickly taking a picture of the face of the corpse. "Ready when you are."

Annabelle Lafeyette

Annie nodded, "That's good to hear. Doug sure seems happy to hear it," she remarked, as the dog wagged it's tail and looked eager for infinite pats. Dogs were funny that way, it felt like they could do one thing that felt good until the end of the universe. Meanwhile, us silly humans get bored of something fun just because we've done it a few times. If only we were nearly as smart as dogs, Annie thought, smiling. The boy turned to wave at someone and Annabelle turned to see who it was.

"That a friend of yours?" One of them was clearly an adult though. Either way, she was heading that way. Too bad she never found out the kids name. Probably too late to find out now.

"Okay, well, see you around. Doug wants to keep going on his walk, I think." The schnauzer was turning in a slow circle. Careful not to get wound up, she began walking towards the kid and the woman who Annie didn't know was Pandora. As she approached and was looking to walk past them around the block she gave a little wave.

"Howdy," she called out, giving a friendly smile and a little too pleased with herself about her slightly unconventional greeting. The pair had actually gone to to the same school, and Anie squinted as she got closer, trying to remember where she recognized the woman from. Pandora was one year older than Annabelle, and Annie only knew about Pandora by reputation at best.

Jack Gold

Location: the Morgue
Skills: N/A

Jack didn't really say anything much to Megan right off the bat, more of taking inventory of what it was that was in the victim's possession when he died. He made note of the burned shirt, and started going through it to find something that he could potentially use to ID him, or at least make his life somewhat easier. Finding the wallet, he started flipping through it, looking to see what else there was within it. To his surprise, there wasn't any sort of license or ID, or any sort of credit cards, just some bills and coins. "...That's odd, no credit card, no driver's license, either he lived off of the grid or someone tried to cover up who he was so it couldn't be traced back to them..."

Hearing Megan's words, he was a little surprised that she wanted to jump out of the morgue and head off to go on an investigation. Though he probably shouldn't be too surprised, after all, this investigation led straight back to the orphanage where they'd been at so many years ago. It seemed like forever ago since they were there, he didn't really remember too much about those early days there, but he remembered when he and Megan were adopted. That was around like, 15 years ago or something now. "Look at you trying to play detective. Alright, let's get out of here and head out," he said, heading out the door of the Morgue.

Rosalia Rider

Location: the Streets
Skills: Hand to Hand Combat, Pick Pocketing

Rosalia essentially ignored the girl who came up to her in the restaurant, her attention was solely on Pandora, who in her mind was a bit of a stuck up prick, just because she had managed to catch up to her. She wasn't going to make the same mistake, and she was going to teach Pandora a thing or two. With someone who walked up to talk to Pandora and the other thief, this was her chance at a bit of redemption. She stepped out of the building, pulling her hood back up, and instantly turned somewhat towards Pandora and them.

"No one makes a fool out of me," she muttered somewhat, before she instantly went over, whirled around, and managed to grab Pandora's purse once more, snatching it from her. Rosalia instantly started taking off running, swiping somewhat at the other thief who made a grab to try and stop her, but she managed to avoid her. Instead she just kept running, figuring that it was better off for her to just keep running and hope to lose them somewhere else. That was her mistake last time, going too quickly into a nearby hiding spot. She wasn't going to do that again.

Pandora Quill

Location: Wichita, Kansas - Streets
Skills: Deception, Pickpocket

As Pandora left the restaurant, she fiddled with her purse before she felt a tap on her shoulder. She rolled her eyes and turned to face the same girl as before. "Cute. Don't use my rules against me or next time I won't be so nice about it. Don't you have like....a mother or someone to be watching over you? Or shouldn't you be in school? What time is it anyway?" As Pandora finished her fiddling, she felt the pull, yet again, as her purse was taken by the goggle girl. Pandora would have been annoyed.

She turned to the girl again. "Rule number four: Don't make the same mistake twice in the same day." Pandora showed her hands and the girl would see she had taken out some essential items. Namely, her liscence, credit cards, and fake ID. She had left some things in there, partly due to error on her part in not being quick enough, but also those things were not essential to her. Goggle girl could enjoy the gum, the peppery spray, her compact, and lip gloss. Plus, the purse wasn't a favorite anyway. She had multiple ones back home. "Well this has been a day. Now why don't you run along and go...fly a kite or whatever it is kids do. I have business to attend to."

Pandora spun on her heel and walked towards home, away from the girl and the thief who ran in the opposite direction. If she was smart, she'd leave her well enough alone.

Rose Buckner

"I would have gone with you either way." Rose placed her hand on Mab's shoulder gently and gave them a slight squeeze, and then let go. "You know I was adopted, right. But here is the thing I was found in the woods. I've been looking for my birth parents for years but no one knew anything. This note..." Rose trailed off, but picked the letter back up and placed it in her pocket. Her stomach was twisting.

"We'll talk more after I get off work okay." She glanced over at Sierra who was talking with a college student. Rose needed to get her thoughts in order about this all. There was a lot she needed to think over. "Let me know if you need anything else I'll bring you your food as soon as it is ready okay."

Colby Jackson

Location: Oak Park
Skills: N/A

The drive was made in silence for the most part. Colby's mind was going over what he had learned. He chewed on his lip. He was both closer and farther away from learning about who his birth parents were. The letter was the closest thing to a lead he had ever had. Colby took a deep breath and parked. His gaze went over the park assessing. Mathew pointed out a woman he hadn't gotten to yet. She stared at them eating an apple.

"Who do you think she is?" A million questions went through his mind. Was this woman who had dropped them off? She looked too young to have been an adult 15 years ago. She might be 30 at best. "She looks too young to be our mysterious stranger." Didn't an orphanage think it was weird that two kids had been dropped off at around the same time by some nameless stranger? Did no one investigate that sort of thing? "Want to wait and see if someone else weird shows up? Or go home?"

Cassiopeia Hood

Location: Cassi’s Bedroom -- Cassi & Layla’s Apartment
Skills:

”It’s just the same usually over and over. This is good though, has some good comedy. Right up there with Zombieland,” she noted. Cassiopeia looked at the letter, staring at the thin paper and shrugged. ”I guess we could but the thing says to go there in three days. Nothing is going to be there now LaLa. Why don’t we do something fun instead. Go for a hunt or throw knives at the back fence,” Cassiopeia suggested. Cassiopeia had first gotten her love for archery from their last adoptive parents. They had been young but weren't looking for a baby to raise, which was usually the norm. When Cassiopeia and Layla had first met them, Cassiopeia had taken an instant shining to them, which anyone who was in the system, knew that was a bad idea. That time though, luck was on their side and they were adopted. There was no place Cassiopeia loved better than being outside, hunting and gathering. Well, except for day's off and that was snuggled in bed with the cats and her sister.

The current episode ended and rather than allow another to start, Cassiopeia shut her computer off and shoved it away. She grabbed her muffin wrapper and crumpled it up before aiming for the trash can, which she missed. ”Hit the bullseye every time but miss a damn trash can. That’s not right.” She then looked at the letter they received and followed suit. It arched nicely but bounced off the can onto the floor. Cassiopeia groaned and fell back onto her pillows. ”I think that’s a sign I shouldn’t leave the house today.”

Willow blushed from Sierra’s compliment on her name. Relax Will, she’s just being friendly. It’s her job, she mentally chided herself. ”Oh uh, social work,” Willow stuttered. She cleared her throat and busied herself by taking a sip of her coffee. It worked on calming her back to a relative normal and Willow flipped a page in her text. ”Well you can stay if you like. Truth is I’m not a fan of studying but I have a paper due soon and a test. I love what I’m learning, just wish the work wasn’t so intensive,” Willow confessed. She was always a very open person, talked too much for her own good although she hardly noticed that.
Willow leaned back in her own seat, officially distracted and took another sip of her coffee. Her stomach growled in response, wanting something more than just liquid. She looked over at the kitchens, smelling food and wondered when her order would be up. Willow heard paper flutter and turned her head back and saw Sierra look over some paper before slipping it back into her apron. Sierra’s boss came over announcing that she could leave since they were quite slow. ”Well that’ll be nice. Free afternoon and all,” Willow commented.

Wichita Kansas Streets:

As Rosalia walked away, the purse she got was pretty good and would be nice to pawn off somewhere there wasn't anyone else following her at the moment. Though there was a car that was slowly catching up to her until it was starting to match her speed now and the window started to roll down, to reveal a man who gave her a little bit of a smile. "Good afternoon, Miss Rosalia Rider." He said, he wore a casual business suit and a nice car as well. "Do you remember receiving a letter earlier today about your parents? I can give you some more answers if you'd like." He said, whether Rosalia believed him or not was up to her but he appeared to be not threatening but friendly.

The girl crossed her arms over her chest and glared at Pandora, she shook her head slightly. "Nope, don't go to school like some nerd." She said, when a girl came over to them with a dog she stopped and saw her friend and smiled towards him. "Hey Andy." She said while looking at the older girl, and then the dog with her. "Hi there, whats up?" She asked Annabelle, she thought about snatching the girl's wallet, and then eyed Pandora as she walked away. Pandora would be able to make it back to her apartment without any further issue at the moment as well, there were some people though that were looking at her suspiciously.

Wichita Kansas Morgue:

As soon as both Megan and Jack got out of the morgue which was also attached to the police station, there were some officers going on about their day. There was a pair of detectives talking about another case, similar to the body that they had at the morgue right now as well, then there was a tap on Jack's shoulder. Isabella Jack's partner came up to him and looked over towards Megan and gave her a smile and nod. "You two planning on going and leaving without me?" She asked jokingly. "Where are you guys headed off to anyway?"

Wichita Kansas Oak Park:

The woman continued to eye the two boys from a distance but she didn't leave where she was just yet as she took another bite out of the apple before tossing it into the nearby trash bin. Before walking over to the two of them crossing her arms over her chest, overhearing Colby's comment and smirked a little bit. "I am much older than you think I am." She said as she sat down on a nearby bench and waved the two of them over. "I know who wrote the letters to you two." She said calmly.

Sierra looked towards her boss and nodded before turning her attention back over towards Willow when she noticed that she was looking at the letter. "Sorry, just got a letter this morning, was just reading it over." She said, though Sierra didn't really want to go into detail about the contents of the letter just yet. "Let me grab your food real quick." She said, even though she was officially off the clock now, it was just a minor thing.

As Sierra came back with what Willow had just ordered not to long ago and slid the plate forward towards her. "I totally get you that studying is really boring." Sierra said smiling a bit, she did have some papers due pretty soon as well, but she didn't really feel like studying at the moment either. "It is really nice I don't have anything else planned for today anyway to, so probably just watch Netflix or something."

"I haven't seen Zombieland in like forever." Layla said smiling a little bit, she did really like the movie as she rubbed Fuzzy's belly who started to enjoy it and purred loudly as well. She turned towards her sister and perked up slightly she didn't mind at all going out, even though she had just gotten back home from work. "Lets do some hunting or something, i'm pretty bored at the moment anyway and could use the fresh air to." She said as she stood up, and stretched slightly and smirked at her sister when she tried to throw the wrapper and letter into the trash.

"Geeze you being in bed all day has made you loose your aim or something?" Layla asked teasingly, before leaving the room. "Let me grab my stuff, and meet you out by the car?" She called out, as she made sure she had all of her things that she needed as well as the belt of knives she had with her to throw.

She rose an eyebrow, considering what her brother had said. Their John Doe could have been living off the grid or someone was trying to conceal his identity. "I can get an ID on him, I'm certain of it - so that'll help to shed some light," she asserted. It wasn't too hard to get fingerprints off a corpse like this and Witchita was a small town - someone was bound to know this stranger. People couldn't just entirely disappear and vanish without a trace, especially the sort whose bodies were found near children's homes. However, as her brother teased her about trying to play detective, Megan couldn't help but roll her eyes. "Ha, ha, ha... Very funny."

She followed her brother out of the morgue and into the police station proper, only to run into Jack's partner Isabella. She was sweet, kind, and nauseating in Megan's opinion - as well as boring and predictable. "It's nothing that concerns you, Isabella," she told her plainly. "It's family business." It wasn't a lie. With the mysterious letter and the connection to the orphanage, where both she and Jack had been dropped off what must have been fifteen years ago, it really was family business. She didn't know how Jack felt about it, but she didn't want to involve his partner.

Andy! That's it. What a relief- the conflict was resolved! Hooray, cheers all around, everbody go home. Annie shook her head and then waved to the kid heading over. Looked like she was just hanging out with children today. That was fine- kids were cool, though they could be a little problematic sometimes that was just part of the process of becoming an adult. Hell, Annie was still kind of a kid herself. Only two years of legal adulthood and she felt just like she did in high school, except now she had to figure out what the hell to do with herself instead of just being told.

"Hey there. I'm just walking my dog." Annie greeted neighborly. "Andy over here was just petting him." Doug was perfectly content to get petted forever. After a moment she furrowed her eyebrows. Thinking about high school made her realise something.

"Hey, shouldn't you two be in school? It's not a holiday, is it?" Annie asked, pointing a little at the two kids. One of her moms was a teacher, so she would know, right? Were these two skipping? Annebelle was uncomfortable with the idea of kids not going to school; it made her nervous.

Maddy tugged at the end of Colbys jacket that he was still wearing, unsure of how to proceed forward. Colby said the woman appeared to young to be the one who wrote the letters and he may have been right, perhaps she was too young to have anything to do with this. She was the only person who seemed to be looking their way however and that made him nervous. Maddy took a step behind Colby, holding on to his right arm as he rested his chin on his shoulder speaking in a low voice ”I don’t know...maybe we should just go back home... you might be right. We could just watch some T.V. at my place with my cat and have a nice evening forgetting about all of this.” He so wished that he could, but deep down inside he knew he would never be able to let this day go. His mind started racing, searching for an answer as to how this woman may be part of a larger puzzle when he began to wonder if maybe she knew because she was also dropped off when they were, and given her age she would be able to recall who it was that did it.

Before he could say anything however, the stranger took a single bite of her apple and then tossed it away, telling the two boys that she was much older than she appeared and that she knew who wrote the letters. Was his suspicion confirmed? Or was this just another piece to a much larger puzzle that had now been laid before them. As she made her way towards a bench, she motioned for the pair to follow, and without thinking, without hesitation or fear or any sense of trepidation, Maddy took a step forward. His curiosity now getting the better hold on him as he stared straight forward towards a new myster for him to solve. What could this all mean? Who is she to him? Are Colby and him brothers? Oh god...are Colby and him brothers? That was a mystery he needed solved and soon. He sat down next to the woman ”What do you know?”

Mab nodded at Rose, the fact that they both had gotten the same letter was surprising to say the least, especially given that they both had grown up without their parents. Something suspicious was going on, but they had no earthly idea what it could be. "I'm glad I have a friend like you." They said, smiling at Rose. It was rare for Mab to be as candid as that, but these were rare times, and now would be the time to express such things.

Mab simply smiled and nodded at Rose's last remark, looking forward to food. If anything could make them feel better right now, it'd be that. Dealing with problems on an empty stomach never worked out well for them, and they had some time to wait for Rose to get off shift anyway. That was a good chunk of the day they had to account for, one way or another, and they sure as hell weren't going to that park alone. They considered they might head around town, see if there was anything to do.
